no uhf
not currently
There was a UHF system in place that wasn't working right, 2.4g was brought in and basically completely cancelled UHF?
are the receivers in similar locations?
uhf kept dropping out on every channel
only one receiver atm
but yes
similar to the last one
Spread out the receivers
we only have one reciever
wait
its working fine
for both 2.4g and uhf?
yea
no uhf receiver works
move that away from the UHF
Wait so what is using UHF then?
the old system we replaced
and you're trying to fix UHF...?
and any 2 way radio that enters that room stops working
if it's replaced what's the ponit
i was jus asking why any uhf equipmetn would stop working
if there are no jammers
hm...
exactly
so UHF antenna was internal?
nope
you said stub right
its a stub on the new system
i thought you meant the new antenna
nono I meant the UHF antenna
might find a pic hang on
oh PGX4
but the receiver
lol
There's always one mic (we have six) that would just have interference up the wazoo and there's no pattern to it
and it's a different mic every time
hmm odd
i might dm u some more pics when i go there next
and then explain in more detail
I run wired most of the time now
ya some of our stuff is still wires
mix of ethernet (dante) and xlr
Oh we do actually have this really funny looking pvc pipe contraption with the antennas spaced further out
it does help
Just a small auditorium
i bet its not as bad as ours
Well the thing is
alot of ppl dont get the opportunity
it's a 20 year old system that we replaced a bunch of stuff in a few years ago during covid
so it's doing it the old way with the new stuff
i had to work my way up to get to the "senior" level i am
no way
you just perfectly described our setup
lol
especially if im the only one doing it
lucky lol
yea
im only 17 and they let me have unrestricted access hehe
partly because im one of very few that is fluent enough to do it
yes
i would ad u to our lil server we dedicated to this project we are doing but my buddy is really paranoid about outsiders knowing what we do
Sort of?
real
real indeed
Hello, Is there a way to stop my PC speakers from buzzing. Even if i move the Aux cable into a position to stop the buzzing it comes back again.
What are some good gaming iems for ~$80
seiren v3 mini or solocast?
solocast
Seiren v3 mini is different from the Seiren Mini... but it sounds alright from Razer's website so I'll say Seiren mini recc still stands
Solocast is ass
I thought regular mini was out of production
Both are ass
Seiren mini (og) was actually good
straight up good
Solocast just sounds like any other headset mic and it looks ugly
like at least Seiren mini doesn't look like this mf
No they are connected to the aux port at the back of the PC
They are plugged into the sub which is powered by mains power
Are the plugged into a power strip
And is the computer plugged into that same power strip
No different power strips actually
Are the power strips plugged into the same outlet
No different outlets
Ok hmmmm
I was gunna say it could be a ground loop
Buuuit
Hmmm what kind of speakers are they
They are logitech z323's
Ohhh I have the 313s
I've heard the amp in those models like to do that after awhile
Ahh, time for a new set then. I've had these for years.
Does it buzz when connected to anything else
Try
Actually yes i got a new computer
It doesnt happen constantly. It happens at least once a day when but i dont move anything cables etc. But i will try and plug them into something not run on mains power
Yes
Okay thanks I'll have to find sometthing and let you know
Right plugged it into something. Its a lot quieter though but i can here the same sound
ok then its def a ground loop
mostly ground loop
some of that buzzing is the amp
but no need to replace
unless it get really bad
try moving the speakers to its own outlet
oh damn thats a lot
Its not too much of a problem just can be annoying at times this buzz
ya
wait
hold on
a mic is just a reverse speaker
for sound we have subs, woofers and tweeters
yet for general microphone tasks we use a single size diaphram
Yep, cause its easier to detect this than try to move air on such a wide spectrum.
but condensers have the same range as full range speakers
They do. Because its easier to detect Sound than to produce waves with enough Power.

opinion on these?

also i dont have a audio jack on my pc for them so how can i connect them
avoid them.
i’d just get kz castor or d-fi’s
kz castors
$10* and yes they are
cant be as good as these
ive heard good things about them
average kz V shaped trash.
bright
the treble is just bad
whats a better option?
if you want kz build quality then castors…
truthear zero reds
ew200’s are fine too
or other iems from simgot
what stand do you have? if you dont mind me asking
no not bright
but uneven
I still think it's more resolving and detailed than a chu 2 though for example
but yes these are kind of old news
there is a revised "x" version that claims to have improved the treble as it almost sounded deepfried before
but I have no idea what it actually sounds like or how it compares to truthear zero reds or something
I think mine's called "puroma". just another random chinese name assigned to the same model of mic arms that other random names sell
it's the large version, don't remember how large/long
and it just has really big joints, big thick metal tubes, and no exposed springs
it's not completely centered... like looking straight down it the arm's a degree or two crooked
and there is a spring inside it with 100-150lbs of force
don't spray with wd40 and don't open it unless you are fully prepared for it to become a harpoon gun
I had to replace it after that lol
put a hole in my wall too
but otherwise woah. I see no reason someone would need a sturdier arm than this. works exactly like it should for about 2 years now
medium version https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FR9PHYN
Lol wow that's crazy also interesting I do like well built stuff
question is how does ur desktop pc not have an audio jack?
apple usb c to 3.5 adapter
those are pretty shit
d-fi is not the best either but its definitely better
It does but my pc is 10 feet away

Is there a good wireless adapter for truthear zero red
?
you don't need an amplifier for it
any 0.78mm 2 pin one
utws3 and 5 are decent options unless the pins are recessed
go for kz ones if you have no money
Are truthear zero reds good for gaming?
I am debating between those or kz zn10 pro x
usually iems give a poor sense of direction
really? i heard they give better
it seems to vary from person to person. i havent noticed any issues gaming with my iems
again, i’d not buy the zs10 pro x’s they’re literally worse than the $10 castors sound wise
i decided on truthear zero reds
i heard they are better
and i heard how sketchy kz is
i’d say my hd681’s have wider soundstage and better imaging
the castors sound quite compressed compared to them
tho, hd 681’s sound wise are meh due to their harsh nature
those are also $10
yet, they’re better than most iems soundstage wise
within the $40 range
don’t go entirely by the price. there are shitty iems also priced at $200
yes
has been issue with older kz iems silently (rev) switching hardware resulting in worse sound quality and drives that did nothing iirc
people are aware of it and some teardown their kz iems just to check
they haven’t done anything sketchy yet with castors or dfi’s
well the castors are sketchy on there own they didnt have to do a scandle for those ones
aslong they won’t change the hardware I don’t care.
ib they stopped including foam eartips recently with the castors to save costs.
you can buy them separately
it also seems like they have dropped the price a lil since they remove the foam eartips so, not an L for the consumers. tho, if you want stock experience the new castors may not have it. the foam eartips improve treble
Really liked my Zero Reds but ended up giving them to a friend. I was originally in the same boat as you and almost got the KZ (I think even the same model) because they were like $6 on ali. They sounded amazing but I ended up getting some Lenovo sport model since my use case no longer included IEMs for home use.
sounds like zvx
those are like $6
zero reds salnotes or truthear zero reds?
Every comment here was like "don't buy that crap". Glad I didn't. If I need IEMs again, I have zero issue with buying the Reds again. They were really impressive. Truthear if I recall.
yeah im exited to get those next rabit hole is a mic
that 1.3khz bump is bit too much for my taste tho, viable
im considering a fifine a6t and then in like 6 months get a real mic
What's the current $10 IEM king anyway? Seems to change every 6 months.
castors
ah
literally no competiton to begin with, no one makes decent iems at $10 expect for kz as far as i know
theres a reason they dont
say why then?
for 1 the general quality 2 the sound stage is really bad
no and no. you won’t get better soundstage nor sound quality at $10.
imaging is mediocre*
yes because there is no other option at $10
thats like saying "yes this gpu is really good at 40 cents"
not really good example but ok
“they aren’t even good for the price” contradicts with your comment then.
how
you said, there’s not an other option…
exactly
castors don’t even have that bad soundstage, imaging. it would be considered mediocre for a $50 iem.
kz zs10 pro
kz 7hz
and most other iems over $20
7hz sound compressed. more than castors
sound wise, that’s up to your preference if you want detail or bit darker iems towards the mid-high treble
zs10 pro’s? even if they would have good soundstage, imaging (which they don’t)
they have niche treble profile.
salnotes
truthear hola
thats about what I can muster up
lmao
estat speakers
he6
magnepans are also out i think
what a shit fucking hobby
oh sorry guys remember this 300$ item we sold 20 years back
hd 560s
we are making a worse version of it for 3000$ instead
wait what
change to padding, pads, cable lenght
oh ok
look it could have been worse
id rather take a shitty stax cable than 50 year old sigmas
it did make them less balanced 😢
ig atleast they’re cheaper?
looks like sennheiser thought the hd 560’s were too overpowered so, they nerfed them
real story
I have a Onkyo reciever I bought 7 years ago and I think it finally kicked the bucket. It’s throwing error codes and won’t initiate a firmware update. (Model TX-NR575 if anybody cares… error 0-81)
I am looking to buy a new receiver. does anybody have good recommendations (<$500 if possible, preferably with similar features)
Ok odd request but does anyone know how i would be able to achieve similar sound to the logitech pro x with the velour pads, basically i hate sound isolation and the pro x with the velour pads allow the prefect amount of sound through
You can get very good deals on older receivers on FB marketplace ime
@lean grove are there any bluetooth over ears at 100-200$
they’re really begging people to buy this piece of crap headphone
is this for you or someone else
if this is for you and you can tolerate jank then just put some bluetooth amps on the he400se
someone else
it needs to be porta fi
not home
ah
bluetooth ear hook amp with 400se is probably not the play for a more casual user
and definitely not public use portable like u said
idk under 200 is tough because they all just get nuked by airpods pro 2
hmm
you may be right
I have some iems coming and am wondering can I plug them into the headphone jack on the control pod thing on my logi z313 speakers
Why wouldn't you be able to
Okay so I did some looking and apparently that port just mirrors the speakers so I ordered this cable https://a.co/d/1ELQz1s
UGREEN 3.5mm to 3.5mm extender cable is made of high-quality materials, such as soft cotton nylon braided jacket, corrosion-resistant gold plated connectors, polished aluminum alloy cover and enameled copper cord. And this premium headphone extension lead passes through 10000 pulling and bending ...
Are the drivers better than the 400se? Since if it's gonna be cheap, it might be worth building a new chassis for it or just making it open backed
it’s identical to the sundara except with closed wood backs
it measures extremely poorly
sundara drivers aren't the best
yes but what if you strapped a block of wood to the back of them
150$
Ah I see
~~350 ~~300 250 200 150$
the hifiman price progression
could someone just take the wooden backs off and turn it into a normal sundara?
is there no changes in damping
I have a episode amplifier that’s stuck on a old WiFi and need to put it on a new WiFi but I’m not sure how to, anyone know?
a what
my presonus e3.5's measure like this 🗿
but they are beat to shit and running off of an external amp with the active speaker containing a clone crossover
why do certain asus motherboards have a usb-c port specifically for audio and wtf does it do? i feel like using it is pretty arbitrary and redundant if you already have an external amp/dac ngl
whats a good desktop amp you would recommend
im not getting enough sound out of the port on my motherboard with 80 ohm DT770 pros
apple usb c to 3.5
Hi, my moondrop chu 2's eartips started to detoriorate (I think is was putting too much pressure in my ears and they lost shape) and I wanted to order replacaments. Are silicone eartips universal? Or do I need to buy them from moondrop?
they are universial if noted otherwise
They will change the sound profile of your iem, that's about it
Make sure the nozzle diameter is roughly the same
thanks 👍
Ayone know which really good speaker for game and music listhing
i had a logi tech z623 old speaker but it feel it sound like false and not good sound
Check out options from genelec. I hear good things about the 8351
genelec ??
explain plz
i too newbie in sound tech
oof genelec about 4000 dollar price lol
i don't have money for that
i would give max 400 dollar
oh. maybe check options from edifier then. if you have room for a subwoofer you can get the s350db
oke lest see
What port do I plug my speakers into? I have my iems in the green one
Klaus, whats my next upgrade coming from truthear x red, i was thinking on hexa? budget 100~~
hexa is a sidegrade
Truthear nova is the cheapest thing that isnt a sidegrade
iam inspiring in crinacle tier list
dont look at tier lists
too subjective
go demo stuff
island
what island
what i have currently..
TANGZU-WAN / chu 2 / truthear x red
people talk alout about blessing 2
but yeh kinda out of range
Does anyone have desktop speaker recommendations
Do you need speakers?
Iems or headset would be 10x better
And what’s budget?
Yea I'm switching from iMac to monitors and I don't really want moondtop lodged on my ears while I play some explosive games
Turn them down…..
Speakers should be same volume as iems or headset for what you hear
Still want speakers because I don't want IEMs lodged in my ear all the time
Okay what’s the budget
50$
try some edifiers?
under proper circumstances speakers are the staples of audio
that's a really low budget
go with creative pebbles
2.1 version ideally
for 100-120$ you can get edifier 1280s
considerable step up
edifier on my amazon are always on sale soo you should find some sales too
amazon.es on my side
those drop to 50?
no, 99€
but USA maybe lower
i have tax and whatever bullshit europe
Klaus as you are here
what do you think about upgrade path from
TANGZU-WAN / chu 2 / truthear x red
alot of people say truthear nova
some say to save a little and blessing
im really not an iem guy
idk about chu 2 and wan'er
as in im not sure if they are the best money can get you
but reds should be alright
this is a shot in the dark though honestly, I'd definitely get someone else's opinion on the subject
I got barely any listening on wan'er
alright, appreciated the honesty
Alr I'll go for those
eagle did say edifier 1280s drop to around 50$ sometimes
but i sold to a friend, maybe in the future i get edifiers
dont know for how much it would drop tho
do keep an eye out for them if you can
but if mines 99eur
USA should be 80 or less
99$ lighting deals at 83$
just checked amazon.com with keepa
i think i asked this before but where is it where I put my headphone jack in by default?
as in which colour jack in #5
And I think I answered before. Green. #audio-tech message
alr so i have a weird thing going on where, I have headphones that have a 6.3mm jack but I also have a 3.5mm adapter. When I plug my headset in to my PC there is no sound and 0 indiction its connected (via control panel) however when I plug it into my Microphone (my microphone has a real time voice monitor that is 3.5mm) I can hear my desktop fine
Why wont it connect to my PC and how do I fix this
Idk.
Maybe check that windows is outputting to the right place and try your cable with a different device
Its probably either a problem with the cable or with Windows
i just spun the headphone jack in the adapter and that kinda worked
bad adapter ig
make sure its plugged all the way in
some require extra strength
How do i tell the differnce between a shitty amp and a good amp? im tryna redo my home audio system (only the amplifer/recever) side of things, all the speakers and that are staying, i wanna get three rack mountable amps for three different zones, all connected to individual sonos ports, for the sonos inteigration, then i also wanna get a home theater amp and or reciver, for my home theater, and also run a sonos port into that.
but as far as the acutal amps and recevers go themselfs i have no idea what to look for.. any help would be appreciated
if it has enough power and it's class d then honestly, don't worry too much about it
what do the classes mean and how do they work?
In electronics, power amplifier classes are letter symbols applied to different power amplifier types. The class gives a broad indication of an amplifier's characteristics and performance. The first three classes are related to the time period that the active amplifier device is passing current, expressed as a fraction of the period of a signal ...
whats the best class?
well it depends what you're after
efficiency? Class D
sound quality? depends on the implementation but generally A is better
Class A/B is generally regarded as a middle ground, not too inefficient while being pretty good
don't take this the wrong way but if you're just learning about this, chances are you won't notice the differences
its not really for me, as much as it is for my dad
currently we are running the dennon heos drive hs2 for 3 diffrent zones, but we want to break it into three diffrernt amps rather than running it off one device
so if the amps any better than that then im happy
Keep in mind a class a amp is very inefficient and will heat your house and destroy your wallet
Third party measurements are a good indicator of what to avoid.
If you want something rack mountable, you might have luck finding some old adcom 535s or other amps. They even have some 5 channel amps floating around.
You could also just buy a bucket of fosi ZA3's and not worry about it.
Crown XLS works great and aren't too expensive as well
anyone know any good budget soundbars? Preferably with a sub
and I don't wanna hear I should just get speakers or a surround setup or something like that instead
and I live in Denmark so Vizio isn't really an option
just exploring my options, kinda just wanna know if there's anything that's even worth it without breaking the bank
I wouldn't be able to give a good recc since I don't know the market there
like regional pricing - how Pixels are far cheaper in NA than EU, for example
generally I'd say avoid soundbars but there are some alright options
I see
you wouldn't happen to know any good budget AVR's with arc or earc support then?
fair fair
is 200 dollars for 2 Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 bookshelf speakers worth it?
Seems like an okay deal if they're in good condition. For $200 new passive speakers, micca would be the competition.
Looking at some measurements only thing I see that's wrong with them is that the bass port is tuned a bit high .
But everything other than that looks fine.
Fine for $200 At least.
ight ty for the fast response
anyone got any speaker recomendaitons
budget?
I recently got the nothing Ear 2 it works well with my phone but when I connected it to the laptop for the first time, only spotify music was playing. I could not hear audio from other windows so I uninstalled the nothing bluetooth driver and since then I have not been able to even pair it to my laptop via bluetooth
please help
I hear good things about genelec. Maybe their 8351
looking at. it now i might as well just go with sonos ams, but as for the theater rooms reciver thats where im not sure
im currently running the Denon AVC-X4700H but want to upgrade, and preferbly to something that focuses more on audio rather than shitty smart features like heos because i will be using sonos with the sonos port for that anyway
Not really sure where I can ask this, so if you have any ideas please let me know;
Im currently running a umc22 to record trombone/guitar as well as using it as a glorified pc audio card.
I have a $2000 budget to get myself krk speakers/sub + a server rack for some audio gear/home studio
The gear itself I have a $2000-2300 aud budget for. I was initially looking at acquiring the focusrite 18i20 + the presonus hp60. I intended to use them not only for recording multiple mics and driving 6 pairs of headphones. I also planned to use the focusrite interface as a glorified audio card as well. Issue is I was wanting to have both my krk monitor/sub setup, and the hp60 receive the same main mix output from the focusrite interface (without having to press alt input everytime). I was told by a sales rep that I could not set output 5/6 as a secondary set of stereo outputs mirroring the main output. I dont know if this is true or not but I need to be able to have both the speakers/headphones recieving my pc audio at the same time. Any suggestions on how I can achieve this? Possibly with another rackmount interface or rackmount audio amplifier? I havent ever used a focusrite audio interface so I dont know how their software works, so forgive me if what I'm looking to do is painfully easy
Would love to go back and forth and clarify anything if need be
I used to have a pair of diamonds, dont remember which ones exactly but they sound very nice
but they were hooked to a massive harman/kardon amp so cant say really if that made them sound better
Running audio for a dance recital. I currently use Sound Cue on my 12 year old iPad mini, but wanted to know if there is something better to use on a windows based laptop.
For the headphone part, I think what you're looking for is something like an Behringer HA6000
oh wait you already have an HP60 nevermind
They're all line out and you can adjust them inside the focusrite app, so you can have all of them outputting the same thing if you'd like
anyone knows why forza horizon 4 audio is weird without windows sonic enabled?? I have Nahmic audio enhancements on my Lenovo laptop.
my headphone is 7.1 surround sound
usb connected
help plz
if i were to plug in an audio source into line in of my behringer xenyx q802 would i be able to hear the input while feeding it into the microphone and forward that to the pc?
Try reinstalling the drivers to get the earbuds paired again. If the Nothing Ear 2 are reporting themselves as a Bluetooth DAC then Sporify might be running in direct to DAC mode.
This is better for audio quality as it should skip any Windows audio processing but can cause this issue. Check your Bluetooth settingsand also check Audio settings in the new Windows settings app. In the audio page there should be options to edit audio settings per app, Spotify should be one of those options
Look through here if you can run the audio through the system instead of directly to the DAC. It's been a while since I've used Windows so I don't remember specifics but that is where I would try first.
I was informed I would only be able to adjust them while I have a daw session open and it would not be permanent. I wish I could check that so I'm hoping somebody here might know if that's true
still dont get how my headphones work by plugging them into my pc case and not my motherboard
It's not daw session, it's controlled via the focusrite control app
it's basically the interface driver
it would just combine the audio
if that's what you're asking
My backup plan (if I cant configure the outputs the way I want), is to use this cable to split a stereo headphone output on the hp60 into the two left/right channels of the krk sub. Thoughts on this?
I've done this before and I've recommended similar setups with a 3.5mm jack and dongle to other people. It works just fine
Okay thanks for your help. I trust you on the ability to configure the outputs, but there is very little info online about the software and how it's used
You can download the manual and take a look if you'd like
Im looking to replace my 5 years old Logitech z623 speakers.
I'm curious about the edifier mr4, is it good for gaming and watching videos etc?
I know that not having a dedicated subwoofer is a down grade but from the years of using the z623 I have not turn the volume up more that 30%.
from where can I get the drivers?
Try Windows Driver Manager or Nothing's website
you mean windows device manager?
i uninstalled the bluetooth driver from windows device manager itself so I cannot update it from there and also there are no drivers on nothing website
Well if you uninstalled your Bluetooth driver it explains why you can't pair.
Right click on your wireless card in device manager and select install drivers. If it can't find them automatically, check on your manufacturers website
where is the wireless card in device manager?
Right click, re install
right click on what? the device has been removed from bluetooth devices
I'm fairly sure the wireless driver that you have highlighted is Bluetooth as well, they're usually the same chipset.
If not as I mentioned before, if it is not there try your manufacturers website
it only shows 3 options update, uninstall, and disable driver
and it also shows scan for hardware changes and properties
I fixed it I ran the bluetooth troubleshooter from control panel and now its working thanks for your help @molten lotus
its playing audio from all apps
MR4 are solid
even without a sub it sounds more full than the Z623
sure it only extends down to 60 from 35 of z623 but everything above about 800hz is far better with mr4
Has the AirPods 3rd gen not got the 2nd gen stuff?
And why is the gen 2 more expensive??
You are comparing against the airpods pro gen 2
Thinking of pulling the trigger on hifiman anand nano is there anything else I should be looking at in that range
get the edition xs if you want an egg shaped midrange hifiman
Every review says the nano is better than the xs
But is it 300$ better
The brightness in the treble won’t bother me I can’t hear over 14k anyways
Looking for good bass extension and imaging
This was a really fun experience, a bit of behind the scenes with some of the key figures in the creation of the Air Motion Transformer!

edition xs
it has full bass extension to 20Hz and even gets a slight boost if there isn’t a perfect seal on your head
the only thing better about the nano is its headband
I think the headband is important to me I like the wider strap
The sundara closed backs are comfy I have some others with the thin padded band and I find them uncomfortable
The closed backs are decent but zero imaging
yeah the suspension headband is wayyyyyy better i agree
Next decision is between a fiio q15 or a schiit stack jotenhiem lokius
not sure why I never got the ping, but it is what it is.
any specific model I should look for? or just the same thing?
Peoplele of ltt, how we feeling old-school analog home audio equipment? 🤔
Goes great with the HiFi Man HE 500s I found on the shelf at goodwill for 9.00 US clammy big ones about a year ago now
(Sorry for the lighting here I could not win with this pixel no matter what I tried with the light)
Here's a lil line in demo on the some of the performance you can get from these bois

you wont get good imaging with planars
while I absolutely love planars and prefer them to dynamics
expecting them to have good imaging is going to leave you disappointed
you can get aftermarket suspension straps
All the reviews of the nanos call the imaging godlike

But the nearest place I could demo them is 4 hours away

Good quality cable for akg k371?
My Dac/Amp: Monoprice Monolith THX AAA 788
i've noticed my PC speakers like, throwing a bit of top-out static into some output recently. should i consider getting new speakers or could this be a software issue or can i try something to get rid of it?
is there a way i can reliably test my speakers?
Ponder. I just ran some testing apps and none of them seemed staticy on any of my output devices. I wonder if the issue could be the individual things i was listening to
Any really. I just searched every now and then, checked the specs etc and then when something came up that was right specs/price, jumped on it.

I had those but my sister's dog ate the cable and ruined my headphones completely. so I need to buy another pair of them.
the cable is removable?
you think I could have the ruined headphones
ill dispose of the headphones for you
The strong urge to get a dt1990 for the bass performance. But the treble is a big yikes. Why it always gotta be like this. Like fostex suffer from this too.
Anyone know any 10ft cables for akg k371?
just get iems for bass performance
under 750 usd
or get focal elex
focals have very dynamic bass
I have been considering getting some truthear nova
ye just do the 1 band eq
and its perfect
Headphones during summer is not that nice
Does truthear nova sound really compressed like the moondrop variations?
I have the moondrop kato rn and it's way nicer than variation
Of course I am not looking for big staging in IEMs. But I want something close to the moondrop kato
what do u mean compressed
be more specific
Moondrop variations sound really narrow
do u have a proper seal in ur kato
The bass was also too much for me. Maybe I got a unit that had a tad more bass.
Yes
I can't fix the peak the kato has with EQ
Sadly
nova has no peaks
its extremely smooth
not the same
speaker is a full body experience
headphone is some of your head and ears experience
iem is ear canal experience
thats why I reced elex too
I love my dt880 if you eq down the 2 peaks it has. When doing a sine sweep on most headphones it doesn't sound linear at all. Like the loudness goes up and down a lot and varies per ear. With dt880 its so damn consistent. Compared to he1000v2 stealth.
id heed nils advice if i were you donny
Can't get elex in europe
you are a cog in a machine
Else I would have
u can import
is elex drop
I know too many people who got elex dead on arrival
An elear with clear pads would be better
Exact same frequency response
Yes
warranty
its sold out on drop now, but headphones.com sells it for 499 usd
Drop warranty is non existent
They only ship to the USA
was it originally drop
if not they should be in europe
french company
its sold out on drop
but headphones.com has stock
its a drop x focal collab
okay thank you
use drop one
if they ship to europe then they provide warranty to europe
Drop customer support is a nightmare
Cammy's unit died 2 hours after use
Heard nothing but nightmare stories
they ship to france
I don't want to pay shipping to Europe and 21% import taxes
yea dude holy shit 76$ shipping
second hand
also shut up about imports
literally everything you buy that wasn't made in eu has imports
or some form of tax that subsides for it
its just that it goes into the base price instead
I heard utopia bass
Not as good as dt1990 bass
Don't think elex will have better bass
Probably the new one
I miss my subwoofer
Maybe it's time for hedd speakers and speedwoofer
Dual monitor gaming and stereo speakers do not mix unfortunately
endgame
aren't they made in France?
Also beware of the shitty focal headband which warranty does not cover
or I guess, buy from somewhere where they will honor damages caused by shitty build quality
yes, but its a focal x drop collab
only available in US
ah I see
Btw ive been researching IEMs for my upgrade from thuthear zero reds
iam gonn wait for SIMGOT SUPERMIX4
it will be maybe my end game
seems pretty good overall
was inclined for em6l but yeh
i dont "main" gaming, i use more for music and casual gaming
The endgame was inside of you all along
truthear nova
better than sigmot supermix4 and already exists for much less than 200
I will see some reviews! Thanks, i though that nova's were more for bass
you nearly making me get them to confirm they are shit
anything you say about them will not change the fact that they are the best non-custom in ear monitor
maybe we all just need to add a compressor to our audio to achieve endgame
why do you think this
theyre the closest adherance to the harman target which is what people are statistically most likely to prefer, and even if you dont like harman they're still the most well suited to eq
if its like the variations in frequency response it has too much bass
because of their exemplary upper treble linearity
vocals get burried by the bass
grey shut
grey this is quite literally what the upper bass tuck is for
this is science not debatable
if this nova thing is anything like delta flight iems
and unlike shitdrop they actually have decent qc
phew those gonna suck
there are many moondrop variation samples out there that have no bass tuck at all
no need to thank for the input
or several dB less treble than theyre supposed to
I am not the only one who doesnt like the bass and vocals on the variations
pretty sad for a $500 iem
Well grey doesn't live in the same plane of existence that we do so debating based on science is going to always be moot
we are judged by fundementally different physics
see my recent comments about them
theyre a qc mess
and theyre also inverted absolute polarity
you have a very different one
have you met jackson grey
hrtf differences dont make you need upsidedown midrange with a massive 2k dip
my ears give DCA Aeon 2 Noire good dynamics
so I guess I am just build different
prefer them over their new e3
i really wish the aeon 2 noire was good because it's sexy
but it gets clapped by the aeon closed x that's half the price
doesnt the aeon closed x have like negative sound stage
yeah it has a 2k dip but i would fill that in with eq
aeon 2 noire cant be saved with eq its treble is erratic
aeon x closed is a drop thing
DCA had one closed back that sounded really compressed
Just one? 💀
clark phones are weird
stealth measures really well on one test rig and horribly on humans
only listened to a few DCA
Dan Clark Audio Aeon X Closed
that was the one
all closed backs have measurement abnormalities tho theyre inherently flawed
afaik pretty much every DCA has shit dynamics.
some people are saying E3 is a departure from this trend though
E3 was kinda a boring listen for me
the noise isolation has a play on psychoacoustics and makes people think they have no stage or sound compressed
youll see people say they sound like iem headphones
trueee
id like to try that but im not paying for it
I add a 5db bass shelve to my dt880
hella lot of bass distortion but idc
its less than when I did it to the hd800
i was greyin
last time i tried listening to my 770s with the stock velour pads i nearly threw them across the room as soon as a song started playing
dt770 should be put in the trash
foobar over musicbee is the biggest cope ever
bro klaus
when you pause your music isnt stuck in exclusive mode
i still use spotify
there are parametric dsp plugins for foobar
so you can use exclusive mode and eq together
or I can use vac
what
vac is goated
id also stick to spotify if i hadn't local files
vb-cable my beloved
spotify has more weeb shit than tidal unfortunately
not enough in any case
i wish i could have all the money i spent on source gear and my microphone processor back
it's all hogwash and software is better
apple music is the goat of anime music
no
sources I cannot name without violating terms of service are the best anime music providers
dm
if they wanted my money they would have put their shit on spotify
truthear novas are the best monitors for anime music grey
but no I need to download them from god knows where
japan still sells CDs
a lot of songs are only on CD
unfurtonately
I aint paying 30$ for a cd
use nyaa
im not paying for any movie or song on an individual basis hell naw
if you know you know
bro
.
alzheimers
it would cost thousands of dollars to buy all the music i listen to
💀
I don't want to imagine you fucking with vinyls
💀
vinyl is for decoration
thats an unholy combo
nah its top tier hobbyist fi
I convinced my dad to get The Dark Side Of The Moon on vinyl
audio gear shouldnt be a hobby
it's inherently anti consumer
youre supposed to find your affordable endgame and go back to enjoying music
why dont we make our own affordable end game
i dont have to because truthear did it for me
and then still sell it for 1k (dms)
I got this
I still want to own a susvara at some point
pretty decorations
an evangallion fan
evangelion vinyls
case of skill issue
evan gallion lmao
holy shit
michael's face when he learns pink floyds are only available in vinyl in original print
it is overrated
but still good
this song is my all time favorite
we used to bicker in here all day but its been kinda dead for a while
yeah chat has been dead
i lost interest in yapping about audio after i bought novas
ive just been enjoying music
i brought the 20$ moondrop tws
tbh... i dont have a way to try
novas or sm4
💀
iam going purely by reviews
the moondrop spacetravel anc is like really damn good for its price
soo
the issue is that 99% of iem reviewers are full of shit
anybody can buy $20-200 earbuds and yap on camera with no measurement equipment
but no the anc in those actually works and doesn't diminish shit
thats a win
$20 tws is a steal if theyre okay
they aren't the best but they aren't bad either
totally salvageable with eq
im using the arias anyways, its not too much worse
i was liking the review of this guy
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyNhdj_BIu4
and he seems he has a lot of experience, Databases, etc
i can tell you that it doesnt beat nova by looking at its graph for 3 seconds
it looks worse than the simgot em6l tbh
specifically in the upper treble
if you dont like the bass shelf on the em6l then you can just lower it
which graph
i assume hermans
whomever posted this that i found with my incredibly scientific google image search
better than most iems but worse than novas
the thing is
can you just EQ what you want whatever you want?
yes and no
why dont ppl just buy the most "technical"
idk what those are but novas have multiple drivers
because tone and technicalities correlate
I miss my speakers
they aren't totally different things
i see
even tho they were fatiguing as heck
technicality in terms of audio is not really scientific
shit like soundstage is affected by tonality
in terms of bass and midrange yeah
you add more treble in some place you get more soundstage etc
upper treble is hard to measure and eq
if you wanted to eq then novas are the best for that too anyway
no other non-custom iem can touch its upper treble performance
are novas single driver
dont know jack shit about Eq
no
is the iem he posted
nova: 1DD+4BA
no clue
oh shit
i didnt know that iem existed until he mentioned it
id wait for input from people I know who'd actually buy this shit first
i have truthear zero reds and i freaking loved IEMs since them
nice reds are solid for their price
thats why iam hoping to jump for the end game and be it
their other flagship has planar drivers in it and such
"end game" for me xD
it might get interesting if this shares that
theyre missing some upper treble but have good bass and midrange tonal balance
i went from reds to novas
Supermix 4 - 1DD 1Planar 1BA 1PZT
it has a planar driver inside
@severe hare id honestly watch this one
i will wait for it
looks really interesting
i dont see why planar would ever be a benefit in an iem
layering
and maybe soundstage
just maybe
the only important benefit of planar on over ear headphones is their bass extension
but thats not a concern with iems
no lol
the layering, soundstage and lack of decay are things planar drivers provide
I don't know how much these features will carry over for this iem the guy reviewed but
if any of them do, it might be big
accurate imaging and layering are determined by tonal balance and extension
can provide*
planar for 150$ is unheard
layering is completely unrelated to frequency response apart from treble
imaging is group delay
but since they are 150$.... they need to compromsise somewhere
rtings literally measures group delay bro
bros face when he learns people have more than 1 measurement for determining headphone behavior
if shit existed like you claim it did
take your sundaras eq them to he1
that easy
i understood jack shit but michael is learning
be open minded
i am on the side of audio science eagle
