I mean steelseries charges $300+ for their Nova Pro Wireless and they sound like shit. Even my Bose quiet comforts sound infinitely better
nova 7 should be alright
rest is yeah
cloud 2, nova 7, maxwell
I don't know anything else I'd recommend for desktop wireless
aptxll brings it down to the threshold of noticeable latency which is 40ms at the cost of horrific compression
at about 40ms is when you can tell if something is actually just off rather than phase
That's usable at least.
sure
the new a50x that just got revealed seems pretty good
m50x is still ass, typo lol
had to fix it fast or the audiophiles come like a horde after me
also long time no see lol
yea long time no see
no measurements on a50x
oh well we can convince grey to buy it
I'd assume there will be some very soon
they just got revealed like yesterday
oh nvm it was a week ago
Audeze has asked me to RMA my broken Maxwell. Hopefully they fix it… if that’s the case then I’ll use the Beyerdynamics for my PS5 because my Maxwell are XBOX/PC only
The cloud 2 have pretty bad RTINGs neutral sound scores… are you sure they are “audiophile” level to a degree?
they aren't audiophile
they are just not trash
also rting scores are memes
dont compare items using those
RTings developed their own scoring system that doesn't really fall in line with the people most audiophiles listen to
they're more consumer based, but also their own personal preferences
Yeah - apparently RTINGs is scoring beyerdynamics pro level headphones lower than consumer grade Sony XM5s
so. like their headphone rating score sucks
"lets use the speaker bass target for headphone bass and the diffuse field for treble"
neither of which are the actual speaker bass target or the diffuse target
all their other measurements look fine, but i would bet dollars to donuts that any professionals looking at their monitor measurements or their printer measurements would probably have some choice words to say too
their speaker measurements are still strange. they refuse to use the industry standard for speaker measurements
but the industry standard is a $100,000 robotic arm and platform
so. can't really blame them
What about this guy? He was stating that the MMX don’t do well in Call of Duty as a professional audiophile
professional audiophile lmao
well its a wireless headset, it may have bad imaging
not like beyer is an excellent company, if anything they have 1-2 headphones worth buying in total
at least from an audio quality standpoint
I mean it was this or the Maxwell… and with how unreliable the Maxwell have been - I didn’t want to test my luck again
as far as gaming audio goes he's pretty trustworthy. gaming audio has different goals than hifi audio.
he does have a fair amount of hifi stuff too.
and even if you disagree with what he thinks, he still posts measurements. so he gets a thumbs up from me
He did say that the MMX 200 were great for games like Starfield and other single player titles. That’s all I care for because I don’t do competitive gaming. I either play cinematic titles on headphones at night and use my home theater setup during the day
What other headsets (wireless) would you recommend for cinematic games? Preferably with neutral sound and not over inflated bass like the junk Razer and other brands pump out
maxwell lol
you can't get a better wireless headphone than it
except maybe ananda bt ig
Say that to the broken membrane and 4 month RMA timeline they have given me
its a planar
I had the headphones for less time than the RMA timeline
its in very high demand
and yeah
planars can break within the first month
very often
you get out of the danger zone post 1 month generally
the chance of failure goes down the longer you have them
except for shit like he6 that gets more fragile with time for some reason
Earphones!!!
they just fall out
Now I gotta find my Note 8 because after spending all this time transfering files to my s20...i just realised it doesn't have a headphone jack
try earbuds, they are smaller
I am curious, is their any audio interfaces that accept a headphone input that would make two playback devices on Windows?
I would love to be able to have voicemeeter running constantly for when I need it and keep that setup on the programs that I want it for whilst also not needing to mess with anything for example when I want to play a game such as an FPS or TPS.
I have asked in two other discords too, one being a Microphone discord.
my galaxy buds slowly pop out my ear, i don't use them often but sometimes i use them when taking out the thrashed wood we collect throughout the week
i've used them during motorcycle rides too but they pop out midride sometimes or stay in and then fall out when i pop my helmet off
i want to maybe get a intercom but most their audio "suck"
but good enough for speakers that are near my ear
sadly my workplace forbids headphones like my bose 700 while working with anything that makes noise

I quite like them? Shrug. Inears are not my preference, I have AKG K712 pros but for out and about they are pretty decent.
Build quality is fine and although I've only had them 8 hours I have few complaints... My main one being that the right ear pauses and plays and I'm left handed

mine are vibration sensitive so i have to slap my ear twice to pause music
Yeah, let me just accidentally pause my shit every time I stretch and my arm rubs against my ear

iirc it's standard for audio interfaces with more than 1 pair of output channels to provide multiple output devices
any of these pairs of outputs could then be hooked up to a headphone amp
the main outputs (channels 1-2) correspond to a pair of outputs in the back, as well as the front internal headphone amp output which is fully in parallel with the main outputs
the volume is adjusted separately from the monitor knob but it's still the same windows device and pair of outputs
this is more of a generalization. contacting manufacturers to see if their windows drivers provide this is probably the quickest way. my motu m4 definitely does this. I think my audient id14 and steinberg ur44 also did this, but it's been 7-9 years
hey has anyone noticed that downloaded twitch streams sound like trash?
my recent clips sounds really bad when i download them and I'd like some advice to treat them in premier. the voices sound really "craggly" ? lots of pops or sharp white noisy bits
hmm... this almost sounds like an adobe issue because its not nearly as obvious in the raw source files..
that's absurd
the amp inside the maxwells was a choice they made. and I'd be very surprised if it actually got to power levels that were generally unreasonable for wired planars
in an all-in-one product like this it's 100% their fault that that happened
i think he physically hit it
o
I was projecting the context of me overdriving the he400se to the point where that happened
for anyone whose tried these two headphones, it goes to show the enormous flaw with rtings
they still tell you basically nothing about how the headphones sound
how the hell did you do that
who
might be better to not know
there are people on SV who were staff for his server
i dont know who that wayne guy is but he sounds like a knuckle dragging racist.
1th percentile troglodytic window licker
he has some admirable traits in terms of how equipment was discussed and debated. ones I rarely find in other people or servers
but like if you were to observe an average conversation I think everyone would be mortified
he was pretty hard lined about the ifi zen stuff and hifiman he400se/edition xs and ath-r70x
ironically I think he would have loved the mc450 aside from the narrow soundstage
hd600/650 camp seems more commonplace and more of an opposite direction
Folks, I need help. My Sennheiser RS-185's are starting to show their age (the charging contacts are finicky and while I can use re-chargeable batteries to swap if I don't manage to put them on properly, it's a hassle. But regardless of that, they are at this point quite old and I do need to make plans for replacement sometime soon). Sadly Sennheiser seems to have canned the RS line completelly at this point and the only wireless headphones they have are Bluetooth and that just does not cut it (I walk with the headphones all over the house and in general BT is just not a good idea for the PC, especially a Linux-based one) .
So i'm looking for something that sounds similar to Senneisers, with open-back and which use wireless comms, but not Bluethooth. I don't need headphones on the go - these will live stationary at my PC. I have Sony WH-L600 headphones at home that I bought when I though my Sennheisers died that my wife now uses - I absolutelly do not like the sound in them: too much base, not open-ear, etc. I do like the range on them 🙂
So yeah, kind'a getting a bit desperate with finding something similar. Region: Europe, Latvia.
I'd like to stay inside 500 EUR if possible, but a hard cap would be at 1000 eur.
P.S. I will accept solutions with additional equipment like adaptaers or BT repeaters IF it's reliable.
Can someone tell me where i can look for good written reviews of earbuds for under like 150 euros?
Or,hell, even suggestions, i aint well versed in audio tech
Jabra elite 8 active's are in that price range and have suprisingly solid battery life
Anyone heard of the jm6 pro dongle?
AirPods
No
Dumb question. Should I use the HDMI inputs on my TV or my receiver?
I have the Hisense 75U75K (4k with 4 HDMI) from Costco and a Denon AVR-S760h (3 x 4K and 3 x 8k inputs.) My inputs will be: Apple TV 4K, Xbox Series X, and a Nintendo Switch. In the future I plan on adding a turntable and maybe a VCR via Component or HDMI.
Okay i got the jabra elite 8s,holy shit first time experiencing ANC and dude, wtf this is black magics
got my srh 8440s, i do like it them apart the loose wire
tempted to put electrial tape on it to keep it safe
somehow I question how you didn't come across Galaxy Buds2 Pro
with promos they easilly sell under 150
or the non-pro version that's 90 eur
try to snipe a used RS220
wait are you looking for open or closed back
biggest worm eater ive ever encountered nils
same way I can snipe RS-175's, but their price has went to the moon due to production end, plus there are almost non in europe. Quite a bit in US, but then you get hit with shipping close to 100$ + all the import taxes
I;m not spending on these 500+ EUR 😄
Yea rip
reason I ask is because the RS220 share the same drivers as the HD600
you could legitimately get a 6x0 and a separate bluetooth solution that does not rely on pc bluetooth drivers
Like a Fiio BTA30 and some sort of receiver
as much as I know you hate bluetooth
aside from that there really isn't anything like the RS line nowadays
it's not that I hate it, the range is just not there. Plus idk how they handle the sound quality - what codex it uses and will it work with a linux pc properly
Ive had bad experiences with samsung ones before, had two sets die in 3 years so thats why
sound quality degradation is gonna be a real pain for me after using RS-185's for almsot 10 years
that's why I don't like the Sony's and sadly I don't see open-back for hi-fi on their list of products
unless i'm blind
fair, mine have been good so far
one died a year into warranty, got them changed, then second pair died just after warranty so i was like: screw that im not dealing with this nonsense, and im very careful with my devices aswell, i clean em, i dont drop stuff, they just randomly went poof
Linux seems to actually support better codecs than Windows, being that you can install them separately
I have children... maybe abusing them is the key for them not dying? Percursive maintanence?
but I was more or less suggesting this
so youre saying i shouldve dropped them so they fix themselves?
consider it like the dock of the headphone
angrly threaten the earbuds with violence if they dont work?
yeah I get it, the problem for me is the 50 cm natural stone walls... whatever transmitter is in RS-185 base station - it shoots through that no problem 20-30 meters 🙂
I've never tried a BTA30pro against a stone wall... since I live in north america where houses are built out of wood and paper
Obligatory disclaimer: I'm not a professional electronics engineer. That being said, empirical evidence seems to support the thesis 😄
but I'd imagine it should do just fine, granted I can go from the top of a two story house to the basement and still not lose connection
Any noticeable difference between sennhiesser pc38x and hd660s2
huge differences.
okay, that does sound promising 🙂
PC38x will probably be better for you
It should be fine, but again, our houses are literally hollow
How so?
there might be less mass in the two stories it passes through to get to the basement than a single wall for you lmao
First off, what are you trying to do with them
they're in completely different price brackets for completely different use cases
but regardless, im happy with these jabra ones, the ANC is fantastic, got plenty of bass since im a bass-heavy music listener, i just hope these things last me a while, 8 hours on one charge and 24 with the case with ANC always on, i cant complain
Music on iPad or iPhone
and the app isnt complete garbage either, everything just works
What dongle are you using for the iPhone
Apple dongle
PC38x then
USB c
unless you want to get a different dongle
If you're willing to get something a bit better, I still wouldn't recc the 660s2
get a 600 or 6xx instead
There are better dongles
There are better dongles
Ah I see the 660 requires more power
Not by much. Should be usable with most gear.
This one any good?
im looking for headphones that re over ear but non-noise cancelling but also do not cost a kidney
Fosi ds1 is pretty good.
you must specify your region and what your budget is
budget is 300-400 dollars region isnt that important because of amazon
This one any good
okay brobro
you wont get advice unless you specify which country youre from so we know what is able to be shipped to you
and what sites to look at for pricing
you also didnt specify what currency you use
Should have said "I can afford overnight FedEx shipping to Australia" 😄
(that would cost more than most headphones do 😄 )
Yes
Okay thanks the fosi one from Amazon is 210 dollars for me only 75US from fosi
Qudelix is 110
Mayn aint no one heard of jm6 dongle??
moondrop dawn pro

wym MQA is amazing. all my local files are MQA and they sound so much better than regular flac
no
which
yeah I called you sharur
you actually sound a lot like him
your turkish ears can't distinguish the nuances of the english language
we sound nothing alike
Just wanting opinions here. trying to choose between 2 wireless headsets. 1 being the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless and the other being the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless. i like the earcup and band material. but is one better then the other ?
lmao
have you seen the toilet paper mods
average treble-fearer
Can someone explain what exactly impedance is and do I need to worry about it
It determines how much and what type of power an amp can deliver to your headphones/speakers.
It's not really something you need to worry about.
Most headphones require not a lot of power and most amplifiers aren't gonna shit their britches if the impedance is too low. So really as long as you're not getting something like the 600 ohm Beyers and plugging them into an Xbox controller it's not an issue.
Are amplifiers just used to supply power and does the impedance affect audio quality
Amplifiers just supply power. They can also change the sound quality a little or a lot. Whether or not you think an amplifier should change the sound of your headphones is up to you.
And a higher impedance is technically better for the amplifier. It's closer to ideal conditions, so amplifiers have to work less when delivering the same power. But they need to apply more voltage.
But as the impedance goes up, the amp is usually able to deliver less power into your headphone.
But again, this isn't really something you need to worry about because if an amp can supply 1000 mW or 500 mW into your headphone which needs 5 mW to get loud, then this isn't really a problem
more ohm = less your amp needs to be good but also means your headphones are less loud
The 99 other things that go into make a headphone sound good matter more than the impedance
Sometimes I wonder if we could just outright ignore impedance if beyerdynamic hadn't made the same headphone of 3 different impedances
Because that's the one time where you can actually compare the effects of impedance
we could
it would only matter to headphone engineers that way
Any other time, the impedance is whatever the headphone is and you can't do anything about it so don't worry about it.
And like, some very specific cases where you have a low sensitivity headphone and your amp might be able to drive it depending on the impedance.
But anyone buying a headphone that can't be run off a dongle is probably rich enough to afford a magni or some schiit
yeah for most planars
but then you'd just be concerned about amp pairings rather than directly being concerned with the impedance in the end user side of things
Pretty much as long as you have an amp you don't need to pay attention to most of the specs
which is still how most people view it
its not too simple
I mean you could have a super insensitive headphone that needs a ton of power
or a planar that needs a good quality amp that delivers well at low impedance
but overall you can get some headphone amp and reliably drive most headphones incredibly well
The hell is a planar
the headphones speaker thingy is like
different than a normal one
so its a different type
very basically
I'd say something like 90-95% of headphones are usable with a dongle or with motherboard audio.
If you get a headphone amp that can do at least 1 watt into 32 ohms, that number bumps up to 99.9% of headphones.
There are maybe less than 10 headphones out there which require truly stupid power to use and they're all either vintage and hard to find, or very expensive.
id say you need an amp for most planars out there
but even those you can mostly use with motherboard audio
given you have no interest in eq
Like I said. Usable.
anyone had experience with the asus Xonar u5?
Uses a plastic film and magnets on both sides rather than a tube and magnets
Has anyone ever tried the auto EQ for the LCD-2C? If so how did you like the difference?
I don’t know where specifically I should ask this but since this is an audio issue I’ll just do it here. So I have been setting up my dual pc streaming but had issues with ground loop etc due to using two different power outlets. Now I’ve been told the “only” fix is to have the whole setup be plugged in to the same outlet, however how do I know what hardware has to be together in one outlet and at the same time how do I know if one outlet can actually handle the load?
Are you in the US?
EU, 230V power outlets
Find out what the max power draw of your outlet is. Since you're on 230V it's probably pretty high and I bet you even with two computers at max draw you'll probably be fine.
Worst case scenario you'll prop a breaker and then you'll have your answer.
Actually worst case scenario you buy a super cheap power strip not rated for the power you're trying to draw and you burn something down
So don't cheap out on it.
I gotchu, the max is 16Amps so that would be I think 3680 Watts, I have no idea how much my setup uses. That’s without the monitors tho
europe is dangerous
If you're using 3700 watts then you probably have a half dozen gpus constantly mining Bitcoin or a server grade high end CPU constantly tly running bench marks
If I had to guess your PC's probably have a max draw of at most 1000 watts. While you're gaming it's probably closer to 300-500.
Maybe even less than that.
I think you'll be fine.
And like i said, of somethings wrong a breaker will flip and then you'll know
That sounds reasonable, I’ll make sure to buy me a proper power strip just to be save
Thank you!
Gaming pc has a 1000W power supply while my streaming pc has I think 700W. I highly doubt the streaming pc will draw lots anyway as it’s only handling OBS for streaming
I’ve never checked, maybe I should get one of those watt meters
Are they designed to be used 24/7 or only to test?
they can be used constantly yes
Ah nice
it's mostly just watching what's going through the outlet

like it's not trying to burn up the power as it's measured
maybe a watt or something
Fair, I wonder if it records it or if it’s only real time readings
Got the Beyerdynamics MMX 200. Not a lot of reviews out there - but my first impressions are that it’s really good. Better than 90% of “gaming” headsets out there. Excellent neutral sound. Of course falls short against the Maxwell. But much better than the Logitech Pro, Nova Pro, Stealth Pro, and Razer Kraken and Blacksharks I tried.
what do you guys think of the bowers & wilkins m1 speakers
paired with RMB-1506 from Rotel and RC-1550 from Rotel
and a SpeakerCraft S4VC
I mean. They're satellite speakers. Not held to a high standard by themselves.
are they worth it to set up tho
im getting that whole setup for free
i just gotta transport it
and spend a little on these https://bowerswilkins.encompass.com/item/11681590/Bowers__Wilkins/TT73556/
as 3 have the base and 3 dont
If they're free then is it really a question of worth
As.long as they're working at least
im looking for a 10-12 inch sub for like $250 or less im also looking for 200 - 400 continuous watts of power
That's a tall order.
Monoprice or jamo might have something close to that
JBL 550p when it's on sale
well it needs to replace a 22 year old sony 6 inch 100 watt sub
Okay. In that case monoprice or jamo might have something close to what you want. Or get a JBL 550p when it's on sale.
what about klipsch i have heard some mixed things about them
Their high end stuff is pretty swanky. Their low end stuff has a lot to be desired.
im currently looking at the r-120sw
Have you tried looking at monoprice or jamo
Anyone know if the third party replacement ear pads on Amazon are worth a damn?
so i finally got my umc202hd and got it all connected and st uff
it's pretty good looking for being £45 second hand bUT
it's not connecting to discord, mic or output, when i use the direct monitor button it only comes through my left ear, is this normal with this interface but also i just can't get it to connect with discord
and yeah i've installed the 2.29 drivers
no that is not normal
do you have any suggestions?
okay i can get the microphone to work with discord but i can't have output be the audio interface for some reason
did you read the manual
didn't get one
it was second hand
but my main issue now is, i can't connect it to discord
nor can i connect it to my midi mixer program to switch from speakers to headphones in a click of a button
it's not being recognised by my computer apparently
internet
did you install drivers
okay explain this
yes
explain this athiests
now that i've changed my audio channel to the interface
why is my youtube not responding
there is zero correlation tehre xd
did you set it to asio mode or something
what?
the manual didn't help
either a significant skill issue or broken product
probably the former
i've gotta be doing something insanely wrong
the only input now is the microphone i have connected to the interface, i dont see how it's not being recognised by anything
okay hold up, the top driver download was for windows vista.. so now lets try the windows 10+ one ._.
yeah so i managed to install the most recent drivers ( i dont know why i had to scounge for them ) my mic just doesn't want to be picked up and i'm not sure why, i've fiddled with everything i can and i can't find out why it's not working
Its showing in the pic you posted?
sorry?
oh yeah, well it DOES show up but nothing is connecting with it
and i dont know why
did you turn on phantom power
in case your mic needs it
and now my internet has been nuked and i'm getting like 32kbps so i cant even go to the website to figure it out
naw its dynamic
there are asio installs for the 204hd and other interfaces just NOT for the 202hd??
that might be the issue but now i dont even know how to solve it if i can't install it
thats the lowest my buffer size can go
maybe make it higher then
but it's not even an issue with it cracking or anything else like that, it just doesn't exist with discord
lower buffer = more problems
like my mic is not being picked up at all
is there a knob on the intrerface?
yep, gain knob is turned all the way up too
that ssays like monitor/DAW or something?
i can monitor the mic just fine (albeit only in my left ear)
which apparently is just a thing with this interface, the 202hd apparently is meant to do the left ear with monitoring
like i can hear it, but nothing is picking it up for me to use it
getting somewhere maybe not?
like it can pick up my mic but why can't discord
yeah what the fuck
like i get that i'm new to using an audio interface but it surely can't be this botched right???
is discord just plainly stupid and can't use the mic???
i've even tried a different mic, it's just not picking up at all on discord??
restart discord, it sucks yeah
are you actually talking into it? discord will sometimes give you that warning if there's no sound lol
yes
i've had to restart my entire computer at least 6 times and i've gotten nowhere
in fact it's gotten worse cause i installed something that was meant to get xlr shit to work but then it made my audio renderer break FORCING ME TO RESTART AGAIN
i'm SO confused i literally just want xlr inputs to work
i'm doing nothing wrong to my knowledge why the fuck is is not working
i can see the signal light go green whenever i make a noise, i can hear my voice when i've got direct monitor active
why is my computer just fucking braindead
i've tried different ports i've tried different mics i've tried different inputs
its fucking windows uselessness
i just plugged it into my mac to see if it works or if somethings broken, i plugged it in, BOOM it works its perfectly fine
conclusion windows is the worst thing that i have ever encountered
nothing ever fucking works and it's ugly adware bullshit
user error much lol
yeah sure i get that but how do i fix it, i'm finding nothing of help
this is the readme folder????
if it works in windows try routing the audio through another app
it doesn't work in windows thats my issue
the audio interface shows up but xlr inputs dont
me screaming into thne mic
okay that's fun
wow they were quick good job mods
okay now this just doesn't make any sense now
how is windows picking up my input volume with the test your microphone
but the windows sound thing doesn't pick up any input
i got it to detect sound once but never again and i have no idea what i've done right or wrong
I'VE GOT IT TO WORK
kinda
input 1 is left ear only and input 2 is right ear only EXCEPT when i'm using input 1 SOLO instead of input 1 and 2
i was hoping to be able to use both inputs and have them both be stereo but i'm not sure why they aren't
you can't have stereo in one input
your microphone has one diaphragm
mics are mono unless they have several diaphragms
which is something expensive
hard panned left for in 1 and right for 2
i dont want it tho lol
also that's still not in one input
its two inputs combined
use mono
but i dont know how to make it mono :<
its a smaller issue now but i would like it to work so i can have 2 inputs on discord
you can't have two inputs in discord without 3rd party software or code
it operates in mono
like almost every other voip
select 1 channel
instead of 2 channel
whats teh best wireless gaming headset for games like r6 any reccomedations
Audeze maxwell
cost a bit too much for me
cloud 2 ig
you might need to configure from the driver interface then
what about the banana thing
remember the good times I recommended you the umc22
voicemeeter banana
because its easy to use
yeah no i get that
but this is for discord purpose
i got the one with 2 xlrs because my partner is a singer
and we're slowly building a lil home studio
yes and i got no info from it
it told me plug things in and download drivers
i eventually got it all to work
after so long i was gonna do something that warship would very much say no about
You have to copy the link and paste it since youtube doesnt let me post links.
Download link to the old driver: bit.ly/UMCDriver (Mega.nz download)
Let me know if you have any problems!
Microphone Only Recording Left Channel, Solution, Turn Mono Into Stereo, Behringer UMC202HD Mono Audio Bug, left/right doesn't work, All Sound is Mono, Fix St...
installing older drivers don't work for me btw uwu
this is what happens when i downgrade
in 1 and in 2 are both mono
but i was hoping to have both 1 and 2 accounted for and both be mono
you should have a 1 channel option
if you don't then something is broken
womp womp
Might as well just use voicemeeter or something like that and run it mono
some sort of virtual patch cable
i've never used it
xd
Okay what do I need for connecting my PC to a Guitar, a Microphone, one set of speakers or a pair of headphones?
an audio interface
its okay it's not me this time so you might get someone competent
I want one too
Let's hope I don't plan to start streaming or anything because apparently the xs leaks like a motherfucker
it shouldn't be picked up unless you are using your mic wrong
Very possible
Someone said you need a decent amount of gate depending on the microphone
unless you are using a shotgun
you are using the mic wrong if it picks up headphone audio
a gate only stops background audio when you aren't speaking, not while
I don't plan to steam anyway so I'm not worried
hello guys, i've been thinking about upgrading either my headphones or my keyboard. My current keyboard isn't the greatest (asus cerberus membrane keyboard, first pic) but and so aren't my headphones (moondrop chu 2, they are great for the price but I was looking for more). I would either upgrade my keyboard to the nuphy air 75v2 (great keyboard for the price) or to the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle Zero:RED (or maybe something a bit more expensive but not a lot because I would like to buy some ear tips).
imagine being able to give out <100$ iem advice
when there is a new iem coming out every other day
couldn't be me
so i have 2 questions
is there any way to access the settings on the yamaha MCR 042 stereo, the IR reciever on mine is broken
is there any way to have the aux out front and the aux out on the motherboard do the same output?
if so, can i then split the front one to do a certain frequency range, and the back one to do a different frequency range?
Not familiar with that Yamaha, can't comment on that.
yes as long as front panel and io shield are separate, if you want to do EQ on the output as well, I'd recommend using voicemeeter banana
For hardware output, set A1 and A2 to the Front and Back (order doesn't matter)
Clicking EQ will turn it on, right clicking will open the EQ that you can use
like this
Switch windows to one of these, then turn on A1 and A2 to send to both outputs
voicemeeter causes me issues, but ill give it a shot
yeah it just fucked my audio sideways
seems to mess with my media keys specifically
aka spam skipping songs for no apparent reason
planars are loud though
in terms of sound leaked out of the sides, way more than dynamic open backs
generally even open back dynamics are not acceptable for monitoring because of leakage
it's not impossible, especially if the mic is a little further away, you're loud, and the headphones are not
but leakage into microphones is a very real and founded problem
yeah
this is untrue
literally turn the gain knob
lower gain bro
it needs to overpower your voice
any of yall know why this is happening? i have drivers on all of my devices
and theyre all correct drivers
can you dm me all the screenshots for this, i dont see anything named front and back, or am i just dense
Speakers are probbaly your rear io output
you need to plug something into the front for it to detect
aight
and become an option to output to
this got it working, cheers
awesome
just tryna figure out the eq, i have banana installed but it doesnt seem to show it
do i gotta restart the software and open it from banana rather than the normal window?
oh yes
banana is a separate app
uses the same virtual cables but also accesses the rest of the controls
you have to open banana
lmao
i have way too much software 😭
that's fine
will this run banana by default or the base voicemeeter?
i have a dell u2419h monitor and a ps5 but i cannot hear audio without headphones on a controller
can anyone give me any product recommendations to buy for audio output??
it will run whatever you enabled it on
alright
i enabled it on the base voicemeeter, should i disable and then re-enable it on banana or disable it on the base and then renable it on banana
why don't you just use one of these programs
enable it on whatever you use
disable it on what you don't
I install voicemeeter banana, it installed both the base and model
any recommendations for earbuds for phone? Price about 20€ and preferably wireless
I need a susvara
Get a tungsten
no
tungsten is copium
it wont be better than he1000v2 stealth
and its not better than susvara
tungsten only has 1 year warranty
You haven't even heard it my guy
there are no reviewers who heard the he1000v2 stealth
oh yeah mb, let me just enjoy the sound of the build
like you know how long a tungsten is actually going to last
you'll be hearing the sound of the build when your susvara squeaks every time you move
😛
every susvara ive heard did that as well as every susvara that i know someone has owned
tungsten is stupid hard to drive
correct
might be able to justify the power of the iha6 if you still have that
I have a Violectric v222
IHA-6 is one of the worst amplifiers I have heard with dynamic headphones
I still don't understand how it made hd800s worse than a 300 euro amp (which was doing great)
planars just hide its flaws
violectric claims a max voltage of 23 volts. should be enough for the tungsten on balanced
it did susvara fine, so who knows
susvara is more sensitive and lower impedance
should be similar levels of current draw
tungsten is probably around 2100 euros with all the fees and taxes accounted for
how much is a susvara again
so 2400 euros is too much for cope but 6k for susvara is the move
I want to demo the empyrean 2 tho
for endgame
why would I spend 2400 for a small upgrade
why not just get endgame
because the 2400 small upgrade sounds better than the 6000 endgame
every reviewer agrees its not better than the susvara
not really
i havent seen anyone outright say its definitely worse. more of a preference thing
you put your faith blindly into literally so much garbage
maybe you shouldnt exploit return periods or something
exploit - make full use of and derive benefit from (a resource).
okay but what is wrong with exploiting it
because you're just wasting other people's money and time because you can't make up your mind. and you're not even making up your mind in the process you're literally just doing it to say you've done it
used market doesn't let you try things out at your own home
or in a quiet location
and certainly does not allow any returns
get this
you buy the headphone
used
and you try it for as long as you like
and then you sell it for just about as much as you paid for it
the people on the used market platform are all massive assholes
its not worth trying to sell anything on there
since they are gonna low ball or not buy at all
and then I loose money
maybe you gotta learn how to use the used market?
people are gonna low ball you to get a good deal because they're assuming you're selling it to get yourself a good deal
which is how the used market works
its not altruistic
you gotta negotiate a price
I literally cannot be bothered to deal with people who try to constantly bother me over the course of several months before the ad expires and I have to reupload it
I dont put anything on there if it cost me less than 300 euros, because its not worth the effort
then continue exploiting return periods and making the new market worse i guess idk
they have big enough margins on audio products anyways
depends who "they" are
retailers
they all have the same distributor here anyways
again. i think you're coping by just being willfully ignorant
nah I know some people on the inside
of the fact that businesses dont have infinite money so you conflate it with mega corporations with close to infintie money
yeah like something like thomann doesnt have infinite money
those pieces of crap literally ship open box products to customers who think they are buying new products
I got my speaker stands with rust on them
lmao
pieces of crap selling open box products to customers thinking they're buying new products
you're the exact type of person who returns tons of stuff just to try it out. gee i wonder if there's a way to contribute less to this problem you think they have
its like seeing a pile of litter on the road and dumping all the candy wrappers in your pockets in the pile
"man this place is a dump. theres all this litter here."
???
I have returned hd650, fiio ft3 and ar5000
I guess they are now out of money and have to declare bankruptcy
you're literally complaining about a problem you're contributing to
I don't return items with rust on them
you should return defective products
you shouldn't return stuff just because you wanted to try it out for a few hours
if you want to try something, buy it from someone who wants to get rid of theirs
do you know how big of a pain it is to return something as large as speaker stands
couldnt be bothered
one that isn't a bother at all?
you put them in a box and give them to the delivery guy
I don't have a car
bro the delivery guy dont pick it up
is there a single grey W on this earth
you know grey from this conversation it almost seems like you're perfectly okay with wasting other people's time and money if it means you aren't inconvenienced by chores.
I don't even mind paying for return shipping
next you are gonna tell me you never returned something in your life
thats not what im arguing at all grey
you should have returned your rusty ass speaker stands
you should not be buying stuff with the expressed interest in returning it before you even have it
you're buying gear you know you wont keep just to say you've tried it
youve got 1000 headphones that you say are the best and you're pissing around with $300 fiio headphones for what reason?
I need to know if it's something I can recommend
"hey kid. i tried this headphone for 30 minutes. its great you should get yourself a pair. also all those people who say the hd650 is great are wrong dont listen to them"
HD650 is copium
grey you are literally the textbook example of gear cope.
Its normal for active speakers to always be making some sort of sound right?
Like if i get about 6 inches away from my MR4s I hear a super faint hiss/whine sound. Like nearly inaudible unless my ear is pointing at them even.
fairly normal
I was searching online but couldn't find anything on this, do the QC ultras have fully adjustable ANC or only preset modes?
whats the most simple way to improve the bass on my sennheiser hd560s?
i dont have any experience with eq's and stuff like that
well you answered yourself
how even, my source gear is like 1500
not even that crazy
hope thats sarcastic
thats a crazy convo i just read
not trying to be rude but could anyone recommend a set of speakers? probs something around 300 euros would be suitable. I've got an ifi zen dac v2 and a zen air so if it works alongside that it'll be great
i finally got an aux lead for the sub, now im tryna figure out of i can make the graphs look something like this rather than the curves it automatically does, is there any settings i can tweak or something
nevermind, i got it working
it’s better than what you use on the daily
the only thing it doesn’t do is loud subbass
it is not in any way superior to the he1000v2 stealth
it’s vastly superior if you’re not allowed to use eq
i’d probably take he1000v2 if i was allowed to use eq tho
he1000v2 stealth is less bright than edition xs
has actual vocals in its center image
and godly bass
I want to demo the meze empyrean 2, the graph looked like a slightly smoother edition xs frequency response
maybe I'll go next weekend
it sucks it has mini xlr
I am still waiting for any reviewer that has an actual measurement rig to review he1000v2 stealth
and not the meme that is joshua valour

tbh joshua is a meme
6k euro could of been saved for a car, instead of headphones. just saying
I dont care about cars
to be fair
I had no intention of keeping the mc450 either
but now that I've actually heard it... probably gonna keep it
at least as a backup
and in this case it's about keeping a bunch of headphones for almost a year or so and then selling the ones that were less interesting
I will probably do something like edition xs vs hd800 vs neumann ndh30 and return two of them, when the time comes
I think it's fair play to try a few headphones and only actually keep one
trying equipment first is the nature of this hobby
if sellers aren't prepared for that, they should be happy with giving customers a poor experience
I was messing around with 300 euro stuff when my current chain costs like 3.3k, so I get nills
well that's keeping none of them, presumably
amazon has a limit of about 20% of purchases being returned
after that they give warnings
i dont consider myself part of the audiophile hobby group anymore
i already know what the best wearable audio is so there's no point in trying other shit unless new stuff comes out and dethrones them
do you know that because you've tried it or because you looked at some squiggles
squiggles are supreme
squiggles in combination with testimonies from proven trained listeners
give it a year or two when xmems make their way to more products
and t heir newer drivers with more flaps
i am 1000% ready for solid state iems to actually be good
ill throw down on some whenever they arrive
its was the treble
thats weird
the 6xx is basically the closest you can get to harman mids and treble without eq
harman iem is different from harman headphone
and even then, iem is different from headphone
i dont find the mids/treble to be substantially different but the bass is
whenever they do arrive i am very ready
im picturing more ear speaker stuff kinda like the bose sunglasses
speakers that actively track you and beam sound at you
better ANC.
cool
im gonna wait for them to be actually good and reasonably priced
not in a rush to replace my truthear novas
hey guys just wanted to ask if u guys have a recommendation for speakers for around 300 euros? I've got an IFi Zen Dac V2 and a Zen Air (If that's needed information)
JBL lsr305 or Kali LP6 would be the default recommendation
oh if you're in the EU there's some good ones from thomman
there's the A306 and A308 as well, they have a bigger woofer which are gonna play louder, go deeper, but are gonna need more room and need to be placed more inteligently to sound their best
At least they front fire
if youre willing to use EQ and add a subwoofer then the Neumi BS5P and a sub is a better setup, if not then go with what Nils said
whats the 300 euro neumi + amp + sub build that you're thinking
cuz to me that sounds closer to 500
bs5p-arc is self powered and has a dac and sub output
throw in whatever sub fits your budget after that
it wont be a good sub but itll be louder than the bass from an equivalently priced monitor setup
do the bs5p's measure as good as the silks
bs5p can get basically perfect with just a few wide band filters
at least in the mids and treble, they dont play subbass
stock
3 wideband filters bring the 100-20000hz response within 1.5db threshold
other users run more filters and do even better
this is with 8 filters
Not sure if this is the best place to ask, but I'm looking for Spotify alternatives since they removed the like button. Don't care about lossless but I do want decent quality, and I like Wrapped and being able to control other devices. I'm considering Apple Music, but I primarily use Samsung mobile devices and have multiple Windows laptops.
the like button is still there
lmao
qobuz and tidal are the other two recommendations. tidal is has pretty good music recommendations. qobuz has high res streaming.
literally continue using spotify because the button is still there
show me where
the closest thing is add to playlist
@warm scarab ok nvm I see what you're saying
click on a song that isn't saved to the "liked" playlist
they didn't
its a + now
the + is green if it's in any playlist
not a liked song
so if I save an OST as a playlist then all of the songs in there are going to be green checks
you want an exclusive like button?
yes
like there was before
it's a good marker of "this song in particular is a banger" in a playlist
i get what you are saying
now likes are just treated as a disorganized playlist
it used to be not like this
initially when the change happened a while back
spotify literally had a notification saying "its only an icon change, function remains exact same"
honestly I'd be fine if they just added the + alongside the like button
the + is hella useful but not with this cost
its 1 tap instead of 2
not much of an improvement to me
love it when corpos sperg out every now and then and change shit nobody asked for
nah it also eliminates a few taps for songs that are already in playlists
eliminates 1 too
plus it's easier to remove a song from a playlist with it
ye
so 1 tap shorter
I fucking inject Spotify with spicetify js which has an AdBlock extension, that's all I need
thx
Upon seeing my review for their BS5P last month (linked below), Neumi has released a couple EQ options and it has made a noticeable improvement. The new EQ and stuffing the ports yields even better response. Stay tuned!
#shorts
#neumitech
yah it ships with the ports plugged from the factory and with the better eq profile when you buy them now
they made that change a little while ago
yeah i didnt realize how bad the v1 was 💀
fucked up port resonance
idk how they managed that
did they not test if a sealed config was better first
might be that they just did some quick n dirty on-axis in room measurements and called it a day
seems like a speaker that miraculously accidentally became good
well the help of a 100k measurement machine can do that
god bless squiggles
They're hella cheap speakers
Are there any earplugs recommendations for going to concerts? Preferably one that just reduces the volume and not muffles the sound quality
Any musician earplugs should work
what are some good wireless earbuds, or do i get thesehttps://www.akg.com/Headphones/Earbuds/AKGN5005BLK.html?
Meticulously crafted, the AKG N5005 is the epitome of pure and detailed studio sound reproduction, with perfectly balanced 5-driver configuration headphones and one-of-a-kind sound tuning capabilities.
I wouldn't recommend IEMs unless you need high high isolation
these are meant to be used on my phone in public i
I'd just get some like JBL wireless earbuds and call it a day really
which ones do u prefer
i use tune 125s
are these ok? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1LVC5VZ?
No idea, never used Anker
Does LTT use the EV RE20 in WAN Podcast? I think that it Looks really similiar
Idk why they even wear headphones during the WAN show tbh
To Monitor the Sound
yah
nice ty
Wut ur budget?
I’d hope to keep it under 150 usd but if there’s an amazing deal that’s just a bit above it’s fine
Ur using android?
Apple tho I hope to switch to android. I’d like these to be wireless I’ll get a wired one later on
App2 is the best tws
Use case is for commute so noise cancelling would be nice
Sonically
Does it have good noise canceling?
Yes
So it’s that vs https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C33XXS56? ?
The WF-1000XM5 features cutting-edge technology to deliver premium sound quality and the best truly wireless noise-canceling performance on the market. With a specially designed driver unit, for wide frequency production, deep bass and clear vocals, these headphones are designed to immerse you in...
Sonically, app2 > wf xm3 > wf xm 5
What does sonically mean
Sound
Do u think 190 usd for the app2’s are good? And ur talking about these right? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CHWRXH8B/ref=ox_sc_act_image_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
Yes
Good price
I’m also looking for a headset for gaming and music . Idc if it has a mic I can buy one separately
Budget? Wired or wireless? Open or closed?
150ish usd but if there’s a good deal I’m fine. Idc. Closed.
Akg k371
I’m hard of hearing one one ear so stuff like surround sound doesn’t really matter
It has stereo
https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/akg/k371 6.3/10 for gaming?
Literally any stereo pair of headphones or earphones will work for gaming.
The bottleneck in any gaming audio setup is basically never the headphone or earphone; most times the game audio mixdown quality is the culprit in a subpar experience.
Also dont trust rtings for audio stuff
They are ok with other things like monitors and laptops
Hmm. Should I get https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/bose/quietcomfort-ultra-headphones-wireless instead the AirPods and the k371?#
Just basically ass
An acceptable anc headphone is momentun 4
Also rtings scores are a joke
Oh
QC35ii/45 were fine
only bc they weren't tuned like total garbage
My qc35ii died in a year
okay so what do you think is the limiting factor when the game engine doesn't color the fuck out of the sound for directionality
the headphone lol
what eq would you recommend?
like the software?
Anyone use a wave xlr mixer with wireless headphones? Please @ me
I don't have a wave XLR mixer with wireless headphones no sorry.
Gawd i wanna have the moondrop Sparks so Bad...
But they are so close in price to buds 2 and buds fe
An probably better in every way.
If i think about how extremely good the space travels are
The thing that gets me most, the shape and most likely comfort and aptx on tws.
Thoughts on Thruthear x Crinacle Zero:Red versus KZ ZS10 Pro X?

Overrated.
Kz is hated but i find them fine - great Options f. E.
Moondrop chu
Truthear hexa
Moondrop Aria
Also i believe id like the Zero non-Red more than the reds. But i havent tried them - yet.
Tbh. I dont find the reds that trashy but just not impressive or for anything i actually use often. I just hate the tuning.
zero red
i would also look at the KZ Castor too though
(the regular version not the extra bass version)
Have the Hexa’s and have been impressed for the price.
Hello, I'm looking to purchase Bluetooth headphones or earbuds for outdoor use, and my budget is around max 200 euros. Can you provide recommendations? I came across the Audio-Technica M50xBT2 – how well does it perform?
Just wanting opinions here. trying to choose between 2 wireless headsets. 1 being the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless and the other being the Razer BlackShark V2 Pro Wireless. i like the earcup and headband material. but is one better then the other ? just for gaming/discord and here and there streaming.
or any other headset that has the same material in the earcup.
Okay. Was also interested in that one but some review led me astray. Will look into it again. Thank you
Would you recommend any other headset ?
audeze maxwell if you can get it
a ton better
i dont think you can buy a better wireless headset other than nova 7 that isn't as expensive as the maxwell
ya $300 for those maxwells lol. will have to stick with the nova 7s.
standard price for them
if I were you I'd save up but I can't blame you for not wanting to pay more
Venture past the mundane into Almighty Audio, a superior combination of hardware software. The Nova Acoustic System includes custom audio drivers, 360° Spatial Audio, and 10-band Parametric EQ from Sonar Software. Listen to two audio streams at once with simultaneous 2.4GHz and Bluetooth, easily ...
well just got a new gpu and wife is already mad lol
i wish
those are the headphones yeah
they are sibilant but
ig on the slightly better end of wireless headsets
does anyone know what the audio capabilities are for the gigabyte b550m ds3h ac motherboard?
define audio capabilities lol
It can probably play audio
neumanns
he asked that already in another group and got his answers there xD
did they make fun of him too
that it can play audio
Does anyone here know about audio recording devices? We have been using Tascams DR-10Ls for a couple of years, and we always end up with popping, static and inconsistent audio files. We've been buying a lot of lavaliere mics to the point where we think it's the device itself. Does anyone have personal experience with these?
open back headphones really be affected by room accoustics
You might have better luck asking in the podcastage discord. This server has mostly consumer hifi experts.
it could very well be interference from a phone
try and see if it goes away when you turn your phone on airplane mode
you can have wifi still on with airplane mode, it just ensures there is no cellular connection. if you just disable mobile data it still tries to ping every once in a while to see if it can connect
Diffuse Field: Calculate, Characterize, Calibrate
Head-Related Transfer Functions (HRTFs) have become a common topic of discussion now that Headphones.com have incorporated the Brüel & Kjaer Type 5128 HF HATS into our roster of measurement fixtures, but some still aren't sure what the heck HRTFs are, why we're using them, or most importantly—how we're using them. Not worth it compared to Zero2 or Wan'er IMO
but part of it is my issue with KZ in general
How many of you actually use the Zero reds? I cannot be the only one simply not liking them at all.
stuff with good graphs tends to get peddled around a lot
I haven't tried them though
Thing is - they are too dark for me.
Its just crinacles tuning with the downslope and bassboost.
uh
so is that your main reason for disliking them? it's not anything about the sound itself?
Well it makes me not liking the Sound xD
how long have you been using them?
Long enough
Until i got both the kz pr2 and blessing 3 (which are also quite bassy, but i love both)
And now the moondrop space travel, the first tws earbuds i actually can use and even enjoy
I wonder if the treble was extremely reduced compared to just kinda dark
