the hd6xx from drop is pretty much an hd650 for much cheaper
in that case i think if you just needed a 2nd headphone, the 6xx would be worth it
650 less so since its a lot more money
was looking at the 990s as well heard they were good as well
990s are controversial
one of those things new people like but experienced people dont
they have a big V shape, so things sound more intense. more intense bass and more intense treble
I see
also been thinking about getting the Audeze Maxwell since I could use those on play playstation too
Oeh i found a fosi a30d for €96
Is this one any goodv
?
The za 3 isnt sold in my country
And i wane be able to controll my treble and bass
And also its €22 voucher so 97 euros for that amp
idk then. like i said. fosi only recently started having good stuff. they have like, 3 or 4 things that i would consdier good.
topping pa3s is another good one but its more expensiver
So the one i put in chat isnt good?
hard to say. i havent heard much buzz about them. they are probably gonna be better than the $30 ones you posted earlier.
but in my book something is only good when there's nothing better that you can get for the same amount of money.
the new fosi amps are that.
the old fosi amps, i have no idea. especially considering youre pretty limited from what you can buy in your country
Very true
if you do end up getting them then enjoy em
But i mostly read reviews for better infromation
And 2250 reviews 4.4 seems solid enough
But idk if 50 watts gone be enough for the bookshelf speakers
in my experience, amazon reviews can tell you if something is bad but won't tell you if something is good. most people buying these things will give 5 stars to anything that is functional.
sort by most recent and look to see what problems the 1 star reviews have with the units
again, i trust the people who have something negative to say over the people who have something positive to say
but the rating skew of the BT30d doesnt raise any red flags
like this is what i would consider okay
thats a normal distribution
if it was something like this (i made this in ms paint) then thats when you should be suspicious
Thank you very much for al the help @lean grove
Could a pop u a private msg if i have anymore qeustions?
And btw the speakers i picked up came with custom speaker cabels 3 meters and with the stands
you can ask here so that if theres something im unable to answer someone else might be able to chime in
good option
Fair i thought it might be faster sorry
Qeustion u have any other small amps €100+ u would recommend?
no
might be able to get delivery through ebay from fosi for their good stuff
oh nevermind its just USA
zen air dac
magni 3+
I need an amp for passive speaker so the air dac wont work
And fhe magni 3+ i cant find in my country
in this case, reading the one star reviews will give you the best info. If it's a cheap product, 80% of them are going to be QC related.
Qc = qwaliti controller?
anyone know why there is a screeching sound in the background almost like white noise while i'm using my C-1 xlr mic
To all the audiophiles here, are these good headphones?
( Price: $60 USD )
I just found out the speakers i bought are 8ohms does that draw more power cus im thinking of picking up a small amplifier but idk how many watts it would need to run properly
And possibly a subwoofer powerd/passive

its really just a bimodal distribution of brand name and garbage
ive been trying to use more of etsy and ebay

idk I just stopped using wireless headphones, because they'll always die after a couple of years
One message removed from a suspended account.
wires? yeah, they are pretty cool
One message removed from a suspended account.
the earpuds?
They carry just about all of the massive ones. It's the middle sized brands that get beat.
Wireless or wired?
One message removed from a suspended account.
I quite liked my sony earbuds for working in a way too loud enviorment instead of hearing protection, but I prefer wired headphones in most other scenarios
Take a look at the moondrop space travel
Otherwise next best bet is galaxy buds or airpod pros

what are some decent bluetooth headphones for listening to music preferably under 100 euros
new interview rec setup just dropped... got a fkn insane deal on that F6 and it sounds grrreat
whats the cheapest good wireless noise cancelling earbuds ?
moondrop space travel?
turtle beach stealth 600 wireless (gen 1)
may not be the best value wireless headphones/set but, thier sound curve is decent
are the Truthear Zero Reds the best for a 100 dollar budget?
they’re decent, depending on what your prefer.
they have lowered all mids across the range
basicly. more bass, more treble
i'm kinda new to this, currently have the moondrop chu 2 because I didn't want to spend a lot of money without knowing if this was something worth "getting into to".
what kind of preferences are there or which do you need to be able to recommend me something?
like if I want them with more or less bass, treble, if they are neutral or not, etc
?
i mean, moondrops are in the most part decent
yeah, i'll keep using them until I get new ones (which will take a while). I was just wondering if there were something that blew them out of proportion below 100 dollars and do you think I should just keep them for now and wait or just go ahead and purchase new ones?
personally i prefer slighly brighter profile.
but, nothing harsh
whats ur daily?
i have a pair of hd 681’s i like thier whole sound profile expect for the treble
too harsh
ah alright
in some songs they sound excellent. in others just meh
i forgot to write it in my message: i meant in the IEM category
what does "brighter" mean?
i mean, if you prefer the moondrop’s sound profile, the truthear zero’s will sound similiary
ah alright
yeah, i went with the hd681’s because they were $20
i can tune them with EQ a bit but, honestly i’m too lazy lol
i thought about tuning mine, still gotta look up how to do it and how it works
looks complicated tbh
it’s not that hard tbh
its not?
damn
i was looking at crinacles tutorial
seems hard, but I gotta take a better look at it when I have the time
i mean, it’s definitely not 10 minute work but, it’ll definitely not take a whole day either (aslong you have some skill)
i use this one with a profile I found online, which I quite like tbh
mega mudd spike
i don’t have an eq installed
it’s your preference tbh
if you like it sure
personally, i’d tune up the nearby frequencies up a bit
yeah yeah, i know
i'm gonna test it out later
i like it but ya know, there might be better ones
thanks for the help
cya
bye
the eq yeah
that are free?
@lean grove u were talking about the new fosi series right wich one would u reccomend out of there new line up?
fosi v3 or the fosi za3
And what about the bt20a pro? Or 30pro?
Both not able to buy in my country
BT20A Pro looks good too
And the 30d pro its about a €30 price difference between the 2
But the 20a pro can power a active sub wich i would like to control the base and treble or does it sync with the knobs on the fronv
?
the bt30a pro is meant to power a passive subwoofer
bt20a looks like it might be able to do an active subwoofer, but the 'pre out' on the back meant to control a subwoofer might not do a very good job of that
idk
Fair
otherwise they look pretty much the same
yes but on the fosi v3 they included a rear output called "pre-out" that was meant for a subwoofer but it does not change volume with the knob on the front so its awlays at max volume
meaning that sometimes they call something a pre-out that is not a pre-out
I can get the older gen fosi 30d non pro but people say the new gen is a decent step up
yes it is
But my budget was max€100 so i could sqeeze the extra 10 for bt20a pro
But no €40
Can you controll the treble etc on an active speaker ?
oh what do you mean active speaker
like a self powered studio monitor?
Sorry i mean active subwoofer
If i ever wane put a active sub underneath it would i be able to control in thru the amp thats more my qeustion
If you get a subwoofer with speaker terminals on it, yes definitely
If you get one with only RCA terminals, then maybe
If the pre-out works like an actual pre-out then yes
If fosi lied then no.
Might be something you'll have to look online for
So if i where to put a active sub under it and everything works how its supposed to it should work properly
Yes
Ok than im ordering the a20 pro
Its a little over budget but i geus i cant complain
What about if im just gone run 2.0?
Fosi Audio BT10A Bluetooth 5.0 Amplifier Stereo Audio Receiver, 2 Channel Class D Mini Hi-Fi Integrated TPA3116 Amp, for Home Speakers 50W x 2 https://amzn.eu/d/2O2VjHW
Something like this?
Dont need a sub to be honest
Is a small bedroom set up
So i want clear good sound not masivve bass etc
Idk if its gone be able to run 8ohms tho
But @lean grove is there a diffrence between Rca to 3.5 and 3.5 to 3.5?
I also found the V3 i think
But you cant controll the treble or bass😅
Nothing. Just connectors.
Oh thanks good to know

yes. it will just clip if you play too loudly. might damage something if you do something stupid like put it at max volume and wait for a bass drop.
if you slowly raise the volume while music is play, you'll be able to tell if your amp is unhappy
just making sure it was ok
I don't put the volume up anyways
and I have happened to slowly raise the volume while playing music and it start to sound a bit
unhappy?
What is the point of planars when the music I listen to is do heavily distorted by how loud they mix it that it just ends up sounding like dogshit
Like a special kind of loud mastering
My IEMs make it enjoyable
ok
Watch it catch on fire
"what is the point of planars"
fixed it for you
There is massive payoff when the song is mixed and mastered well
reuleaux triangle wheels
there's a massive payoff for any headphone when the song is mixed and mastered well
Maybe I need a hd800s to enjoy the shitty music
but as it so happens, there are headphones which sound good off of normal music too
with iems, I really get distracted with poorly mastered music
But like half of my library
Headphones is a little more forgiving
and speakers a decent song is a decent song
My IEMs are bass cannons, mastering doesn't matter
Lmao
my earphones have no bass
I have some shitty earphones that are bass cannons and have 0 treble
they make everything sound like absolute shit
@lean grove which headphones are you wearing rn

Rate the loudness distortion
oh myth and roid
the distortion sounds very intentional
It sounds disgusting on the he1000v2 stealth
not the worst ive heard. they're using a compressor on some of the vocals to have the loudness distortion without actually doing loudness
guarantee it is
nobody beats the loudness war than actual rock music
Like wtf do I do to enjoy these tracks on headphones
DT880 don't got the sub bass extension needed for these tracks

i think youtube is bringing down the levels slightly
I shall listen on my samsung earphones
because the youtube version actually sounds better than the 24bit flac version
xd
must be the compression that removed distortion as part of "unnecessary audio"
I can tell it's shit with airpods pro 2
Maybe I need a zmf headphone

Tbh it could 100% be windows making the clipping worse

are they good for game
It wasn't that bad when I was using my Ubuntu laptop
Doesn't matter for the price
Just get em
Probably better than anything else u can get at that price
they'll definitely be better than what I have now

Looks like it's XLR. So an audio interface would work. Just don't turn on phantom power or you'll roast it.
oks
Yo I got xm5 earbuds after my linkbuds did this weird noise with bass and I love them, but my ears are rather waxy, I don't like foam tips, cp100s fall out, the only ones I've found to be comfy are the linkbuds eartips. Scared earwax might manage to get into the headphones themselves without the foams netting (this is what killed my linkbuds) or the long tube of the cp100s, keeping in mind I make a lot of earwax. Thoughts?
But an otoscope ear cleaner.
Looked into that, doctor doesn't recommend it and it can lead to hearing problems
I noticed my apple dongle goes way louder on my laptop than phone. So I turned it all the way up with my planars and started smelling burning plastic...
Yeah....
At least it got loud enough
phantom power can roast mics?
thats the first time I've heard of that
Hey everyone, I am looking for good quality speakers for my PC. I'm getting married soon and would like to play some games with my wife. I'm not an audiophile - actually I know next to nothing about good audio. I just need some pointers on what to look for in a decent audio setup, I won't ask you to search recommendations for me because I live in India and there might be availability issues. Just need advice on reasonably priced speakers, nothing too crazy, just decent. TIA!
PS - If there is already a video/wiki for this, kindly point me in the right direction, much appreciated.
@lean grove i was able to up my budget so whats better then the V3 from fosi or the a7pro from iyama
the Fosi V3 with the 48V power supply option is better
it puts out more power and measures slightly cleaner
ribbon mics yes
or a low voltage electret can have it's jfet overloaded
Ribbon mics, yes.
Some modern ones come with phantom power protection and if you're using a cloud lifter anyways, the lifter will act as protection
Idk of the top of my head. There's a lot of stuff, Cambridge audio has some decent stuff, topping la90,
I've got an smsl vmv a1 that I'm quite fond of.
oh i didnt realize they asked for a third option thats better
i thought they asked what was better between the two
I plan on going balanced monoblocked eventually, schiit gjallarhorn or something or other.
youll have to spend a lot more money than what the Fosi V3 costs to get something that's meaningfully better
If you're firmly in the anti class D amp, any amount of money spent on a different class is meaningfully better but otherwise yeah.
It gets deliverd with a 32v i think

These 4 are kinda my options
Either the fosi v3 or the bt20a. Flip a coin if you can't decide.
is this a decent deal ?
Yeah i just wane be able to controll the eq/bass and treble
they got a decent autonomy it seem
Then it sounds like you have an answer for what to get.
Yeah
Looking for a second opinion on the steelseries arctis nova pro wireless. Is it the best for my requirements: be wireless, be able to receive 2 inputs and play that at the same time (I want to use my guitar amp connected to my headset while I can also hear my pc audio). Have better audio quality then my current headset (logitech g935)
Have you taken a look at the audeze Maxwell?
Nope. Will take a look at them
Yes it does
Oh a bit on the expensive side. I got recommended a website called Rtings (yall probably already know this website) and also found the "Astro A50 Gen 4 headset
Just keep in mind that RTings aren't as objective as they seem. Their measurements are really unique in their rating compared to other people like crinacle or headphones.com
Their data collection is good enough, just their 1-10 ratings that suck.
Wait. The Maxwell headset was being sold for 249 when it was in stock on headphones.com. I can only get it for 400
USD?
on headphones 249 USD and 400 euro
Ah.
oh wait. It was openbox

Canadian mic market is weird
Any good recommendation for a high"er"-end DAC?
Can you be more specific? High end to one person is peanuts to another.
About $1.5k?
It’s to pair with D8000
Oh man. Yeah I'm not sure. You might have better luck asking in the sonic visions discord. They've got more experience with kilo buck equipment than anyone else in this server.
RME HDSPe Madi FX
then this one
and is around the budget aswell

that being said , i find spending allot of money on the source to ear path not worth it, at a certain level what your brain imagines / hallucinates outweigs any improvements made in sound quality ,... so for headphones 😦 the other way around is different , since from source -> storage (adc) your minimizing losses not maximizing quality as i used to say , independant of what you think sounds the best i can create 5000 LP-quality vynil records and more from a cdaudio 44100khz 16bit, but i cant create a single audiocd in audio cd quality from a Vynil record..
powerful file
what the hell did i just read

thank eddie i didnt get it the first time
the angle of the dangle is inversely proportional to the heat of the beat
I just want some 44.1MHz CDs
MHz wow 🔥 🔥 🔥
There's already a few gadgets that do that already
And they don't sell all that well.
There's a vest for drummers and some haptic feedback for VR
And they don't sell all that well
wonder why haha
because it just vibrates to sound & that's it
🤯
@lean grove thank you for all the advice so far this is what its starting to look like
my audio is broken and no matter what i do it doesn't work does anyone know a fix?
man
i wish i could get speakers instead of headphones
but the other people in the house aren't particularly fond of metal
how are we supposed to know what's wrong
Superlux HD 681 is pretty alright i think
if you want something with mic idk
gaming headsets usually sound like garbage is all i can tell you
Metal? Whatcha listen to? lol
bring me the horizon, old and new
monuments
lorna shore
raven autarchy
disembodied tyrant
jason richardson
vitalism
animals as leaders
some currents
some falling in reverse
maybe some architects and northlane sometimes
Nice.
Mainly deathcore for me lol
oh hell yeah
only band i've seen live was dream theater a while ago and it was horrible
the buildin was half empty so the sound was shit
wanna go see bring me live this year though
in milan
This was one of their first shows on one of their first tours after Will joined the band. I was one of the first 500ish people to hear “Sun Eater” when they played it here before release.
that's fucking awesome
Pre Will joining probably “King Ov Deception”. After Will joining, probably “Into the Earth”.
mine is probably well they're all so good but my top 3 is of the abyss, into the earth, and Pain Remains III: in a sea of fire
i've only discovered them after will joined
well actually right when will joined because of ma boi nik
i should listen to some more of the pre will stuff
nik nocturnal is the main reason im a core kid rn and not a sweaty prog nerd
lmfao
i need to go to more live shows
wow I got warshipped because I said the name of a certain band lol
But I’ve seen a lot of deathcore bands live was basically what I said
i think its the sudoku silence part lol
Carnifex is my favorite though
Yeah it was lol
have you listened to count your blessings bring me the horizon?
I discovered them right around when their “Immortal” album came out. I need to listen to their earlier stuff too though.
Of course lol
i only recently discovered how heavy old bmth actually was
it's awesome
Oh yes lol. They used to be straight up deathcore
my favourite song is probably braille (for stevie wonder's etc etc)
"I whispered in her ear you better fear me, dear, for i am death"
goes so hard
I listen to pretty much anything that isn’t country, but mainly metal
i can listen to most stuff too but mainly metal also
but more metalcore i think
i like cleans
and harsh vocals
this is why i love monuments
guess what got me into metal
What’s that?
stevie T playing panic attack by dream theater on the pink mini guitar
hahahaha
before i occasionally listened to some metallica ballads but that's not really that metal
then that progressed into a half year long dream theater addiction
then
to the hellfire happened
and my entire music taste was thrown on it's head
I guess I was technically introduced to metal via my sister with System of a Down, but I just happened to stumble onto heavier stuff on my own via the internet lol
i stopped seeing harsh vocals as ugly and started obsessing over them
I always tell people to look at vocals as another instrument rather than singing, when I introduce people to more heavy shit
i mean they are an instrument really
just one that everyone has
and it's free
Yep but most people don’t think of it that way
A band that I’ve surprisingly gotten into recently is Sleep Token
no spending thousands of euros on an exquisite 7 string ibanez with a high quality dual locking trem system
I didn’t like them at first, but I gave them another listen around Christmas and really liked it lol
i expected to love them a lot but i only just kinda like them
i especially like hypnosis
I just really found myself appreciating the band’s versatility
Completely different styles of music within one song
yeah
the drums in that song feel so damn tight
Carnifex will always be my favorite deathcore band though. That’s the band that got me into heavier music lol.
i think my favourite deathcore song may be the potic edda by synestia and disembodied tyrant
I’ve started calling them “spooky-core” rather than deathcore recently though lol
lmfao
Their last couple albums have really gotten into their black metal influences a lot
love the slightly proggyness
with the neoclassical solo bit
and the huge fucking breakdown at the end
I have a short playlist dedicated to just nasty breakdowns lol
pls do send

It’s just a small collection of songs that just have great breakdowns lol
I should update it more tbh
this is a damn good playlist
lemme see if i can copy it to tidal lol
Well, either great breakdowns or just batshit angry songs lol
i love demolisher
that fucking low ass growl in russian
visceral
Have you heard Viking where he just does alligator noises?
oh yeah
the one take is awesome too
Demolisher live is a wild experience
bro had spit coming out of his mouth
he's actually scary looking
man i really need to just go see every live show i can from now on
For sure lol
it's working yayy
Nice. Lol
since we're in audio tech channel what's your listening setup like
Sennheiser 560S’s plugged into my front panel
. Or my car with a Sony 10 speaker system lol.
might be better than mine
i have some in ears plugged into my scarlett 2i2
tbf the in ears are way over the top
HD569 for headphones because I required close backs, plugged into a ucm22 or my phone
300 euro blessing 2 dusks
I want to upgrade my audio setup, but I move my setup a lot being in University, so the less the better atm.
I have my old M50x’s as my dedicated closed back headphones but I’m thinking about getting better ones. Been eyeing the Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros for awhile now.
but tbh I don’t think I’d be able to go back to closed back for daily use
The sound stage of open backs is just… too good.
I have a really cheap set of in ears that I just keep in my backpack for when my AirPods die
I think they’re called KZ ZSN or something?
i spent 300 euros on them like an idiot
They were recommended by dankpods and were like 25 USD so I said fuck it lol
Very nice, been waiting for blessing 3 dusk, could release within 2 months
I’m surprised I haven’t broken the cable that came with my Sennheisers yet. I run the poor thing over with my chair all the time.
i don't think it's a good idea to spend much on in ears
I want an upgrade for my moondrop kato
would have been smarter if i got some 150 euro ones
i wanted to upgrade from my arias
i went too far
in ears will never sound as good as headphones
I spent 1600 on headphones
bruhhh
Well like 3.5k for the whole chain
These are the ones I have KZ ZSN Pro X Dual Driver in Ear Earphone 1BA 1DD Wired Earphone HiFi Sport Gaming Earbuds Headphones Compatibility for Phone Computer Tablet https://a.co/d/bJlySo5
I don't mind spending like 300 on the new moondrop blessing 3 dusk when it releases
I’ve used them maybe 5 times lol. I find them uncomfortable. But they’re cheap so I didn’t bother to return them lol.
I think I would upgrade my mic before I upgraded headphones atm
I hope the blessing 3 dusk isn't the same size as the variations, those did not fit my ears
Currently running an AT2020 USB version lol
in ears are kinda something to get used to
they genuinely significantly changed the size of my outer ear canal
i bet there are bugs inside of there
Maybe dust mites
What could i use the spide
@warm scarab recieved my edition xs today and they sound amazing
What is generally your preference for recording guitar or bass? Micing up an amp or plugging it directly into a mixer or DI box?
enjoy
they went down from 500 to 440 euros didn't they?
insane value
i paid 379usd on the hifiman store
you can get the hifiman shangra-la headphone stand for it
it will fit the edition xs
shee that looks nice
wow that is nice
I gotta ask my local hifi dealer to hook me up with one of those tbh
these Ω shaped headphone stands flatten the pads
do you think its worth buying a proper stand? ive never used one tbh
heyy there i need some help
hope you guys have heard about the Apple EarPods.. it comes in two config one having the lightning connector and other with a 3.5mm jack
my question is if the connector makes any difference when it comes to audio quality and microphone quality
Thank you
The connector does make a difference. If it's 3.5mm you're trusting the electronics in whatever you're plugging it into.
If you're using the lighting, you're trusting the electronics built into the earbuds.
But whether or not its a significant difference I have no idea.
What are the best wired earbuds I can buy for 150 usd ish
Uses are for gaming on pc and music on phone
Asking for advice here? Please fill out this form:
1: Location? Some things may be accessible in other parts of the world more than others, like the US.
2: What is your budget? List what you are comfortable with spending.
3: Do you have any source gear such as amplifiers or DACs?
4: What environments are you using these in? Is it noisy?
5: What other audio equipment have you had, or, more specifically, enjoyed?
6: What genres and types of music do you listen to?
7: Do you want headphones, IEMs, or are you okay with either?
you can put them down on your deskpad tbh
sorry a couple of the questions are repeat, this form is stolen from ief
but the aesthetics are worth it
thruthear nova probably
Depending on the headphone I may or may not use a stand. Some headphones are too bulky to use a stand with as it is
Usa. 150 usd I’m willing to spend more if there is a big jump in performance. No.i game in a quiet place but I plan to take these outside to use on my phone.n/a.a wide variety.no clue what u mean
yeah im not spending 100bucks on a stand but looks nice for sure
well for a 440 euro headphone I guess that is fair
my headphones cost 3.64x that xD
get the thruthear nova
shenzhenaudio.com: professional headphone, earphone, amplifier, dac, decoder, hifi player, cable supermarket. you will find good price here.
i use these kinds of stands
The cables man I feel like they’ll easily be cut
Ooh
don't try to stretch or break them and they'll last
thas expensive
Oh that’s nice
mine is about ... 8
I got one that has interchangeable ends
so I can plug it in my amp or phone depending on where I am
my concern with these is that they're friction fit...
3.5mm in the middle
its sorta a vacuum
they dont slowly fall off
yea ik
hey, any idea about asio drivers for ALC1150? (and sound blaster x-fi mb3 which i do not have installed)
but it also somewhat relies on the pins making a seal
and using pins for any sort of structural purposes is a nogo in my book
also i have a issue with my drivers where it just says directory name not found when i attempt to install the realtek driver here on windows 7
plus, you can get really cheap xinhs cables with pretty much any connector
like I get the appeal for sure
So these are the ones I should get for 150. Are there any better options that cost just a bit more?
if you're okay with the slightly larger size of Nova and it's Harman ie tuning, it's pretty much the best option under 200ish
There's some other iems that are better in certain areas
But nova is pretty good overall
Whats harman tuning
Isn't the nova kinda mid
this happens
maybe just going with the hexa is fine
the only issue with nova is its recessed mids, and that's because of Harman ie
imo anyway
It's a preference target. They sat a bunch of people down in a room with a bunch of eq's and asked which they preferred.
And that's the Harman target.
more nuanced than that but yea
Feel free to explain all the nuance if our friend wants it
I mean you explained why it's a preference curve which is good enough
zero clue?
I wish they had a bit more presence above 9kHz tbh
The zero red almost looks better
I like its tuning more, it's less technical though
and I find zero to be less comfortable
oh the moondrop blessing shell is about the same size as the variations
it will be too big for my ears if that is the case
Ah yes
Hm. I really like the hexa comfort. It's light and has a deeper nozzle than the holas.
the faceplates that love to fall off
my moondrop kato has been the most comfortable IEM I ever owned
hexa is really well designed esp for comfort
hope you enjoy
its kind of a shame the 0.5Ω output impedance of my headphone amp makes them a bit muddy
rip
though I think that's actually part of its tuning
the bass isn't really tucked in any way
I prefer kato bass heavily over variations bass
I am a genious, turn on airplane mode and wifi at the same time
and wifi calling
no more EMI emissions
it sounds several times cleaner using my other amp with sub 0.1ohms output impedance though
?
turns out there was a folder taking up the filename of one of my audio driver files, so it was trying to copy a folder to a file
And if my budget was 200 what would be the best headphones for my use case
What's your use case again
hi
where can i get this?
the cable is called the kinera ace
its honestly not that comfortable
this texture does not feel good on your ears
some cables wrap some plastic around the part that goes around your ear
Uhhh. No. That's how you break something.
You never want to convert balanced to single ended unless you know what you're doing.
okay i clearly dont know what im doing
but i have the zen dac and edition xs and klaus recommended me using the balanced output
well its dual that goes into 1 singular
or do i need to use both the balanced outputs?
It's one 4.4mm that goes to two 3.5mm
Pariapt cables probably has something for that.
If you just look for "hifiman 4.4mm" you should find some results
okay and you are sure this will work? you kinda scared me now haha
Yes.
The two ends yes
The single end is not balanced
You want 4.4mm pentaconn
There's some people out there that think that they can get more power from their amp by using the balanced output and then hooking up their single ended headphones to the balanced port with a converter.
At the best of times what they've done is made a shittier single ended port. At the worst of times they short something and fry their amp
What is that
4.4mm to 3.5mm

bro i am not an audio expert clearly
how tf can i use the balanced output for my headphones
That looks like it would be horrible to use
or is it even neccesary
just get a cable
That's exactly what I'm telling you to avoid
Just get a 4.4mm hifiman cable
but that is mono 3.5mms?
I think it would be ok if you get 2 mono 3.5mm cables to plug into it but then it would be al tangly and shit
what the fuck, this cable costs 150 bucks
oh yes i found one
but will this make them sound worse? or is cable just cable
and what is the point of using the balanced output? does it output more power?
In theory it provides twice as much power and can lower some types of distortion.
But in practice, it can change the amp's sound slightly and the power gained translates to a little bit more volume.
ah okay thanks for explaining
hey, any idea about asio for realtek alc1155 codec?
@warm scarab @elder thistle looks like i struck gold lol
so long story short
one day i was going home from work
i just decided to walk around the area where my work is
and like god just guided me to an audio store
where i spoke with a guy (seemed like in his mid to late 60's) who's had over 30 years of experience in audio equipment and stuff
gave me a very good advice
told me that i should just spend a lot of money only on something that i will have a use and benefit of
i can't just yeet 100 eur if all i do is ocassionally listen to music, or the radio... you know what i mean
i mean yea
so the guy explained to me all that and told me that (i think) he personally goes to germany and buys professional audio equipment from there and delivers it here
which is a game changer, because now i at least have an expert in the hands
i could've just gone to "x" headphone maker website and ordered anything you guys suggested, however i really don't have a trust in our main postal service, considering that in the past years they have been bombarded with tons of negative stuff
broken orders, delayed orders, canceled orders, destroyed items, etc...
but now on the other hand there's an audio expert which told me that i can go to the website of those german stores from where he gets the audio equipment and delivers it here, and then i would just pick whatever i like (not order from the website), go to his store, tell him what i want to get and the guy will bring it to me, probably even with cheaper shipment because when he goes to germany he gets audio equipment in bulk... so it's a win win situation
I already found the 361's that you guys suggested me
He also works with musicstore.de
5.390 MKD 87,39 €
AKG headphones priced from highest to lowest
wait, you're not telling me that the cable only alone is 83 EUR?!?!?!!?!?!
Oh but that's for the 812's
https://www.thomann.de/intl/akg_k_182.htm
What about these ones? I see that they have a higher rating on the website, and are cheaper.
Maybe they will be equally as good for my use case, and requirements (for those who don't know just search my previous messages here)
Gaming on pc and phone uses outside
Like these overall also have a modern design
Well a more modern one compared to the other models
The thing is tho... do these leak audio?
@unique wind what do you think? (read above messages)
It's either going to be the K-182's or the K-361's
I got suggested most AKG
Senheisser?
Lemme see if they got these
srh is shure
Idk that brand
srh440a is cool
I'd rather get the AKG, because i know more about that brand.
I like it way more than the k361 personally
AKG K361 - AKG launched the duo of K361 and K371, two closed studio headphones which are characterised by nice design, moderate pricing and good sound. The more expensive of the two already gave us a lot of pleasure when we reviewed it in this test. Now their little brother, K361, gets into the ring as well.
but again it depends on what you want
These released in 2018?
My ears aren't exactly big, i assume i can adjust the foam pads?
what were you using this for again? gaming, certain genres of music?
You can just search my messages here and the previous convos we discussed
You told me about he K361's
ol’ good akg’s
All right, now that we have the headphones sorted out... let's move to microphone.
budget?
No more than 90 EUR
https://www.logitechg.com/en-us/products/streaming-gear/snowball-ice-usb-microphone.html
I got suggested this for mic
Plug-and-play USB microphone with custom cardioid condenser capsule
I don't need a mic with a stand, or something professional
I'm not a streamer
Yeah any of the options we mentioned should be more than fine for that. They might get a bit sweaty during gaming but the better options for that like the hd6xx are gonna be less good for outdoors use. The iems are gonna be good for both outside and inside.
I just need something better than this 5 dollar webcam mic xd
oh, idk much in that price range,
https://www.thomann.de/intl/akg_k_361.htm
Well those so far seem great.
fifine k669b/t699
are fine for like $30-50
is asio not worth it nowadays?
yeah, they have relative flat sound profile across all the range, some dips in treble ib
@raw walrus
The 361's?
yes
great
i guess we can conclude these as the perfect fit for my needs
now let's move on to mic
do you know what you prefer in music?
.
im not an audiophile lol
i said this many times
i listen to uh electronic music, some rock, some pop (hits), some ex-yu... just any kind of music in general
certainly not jazz / opera or something quiet
or certainly not heavy metal lol
I was just listening to balkan since I didn't know what it was
Well ex - yugoslav music like from the popular bands from that era
not club music 💀
im not a huge fan of club music
well I'll say this: the more busy the music is, the less you'll hear on the k361
well, value wise the k361’s may not be the best out there but, if you prefer it’s dark treble dips they’re decent value
treble dips after a certain point are mostly irrelevant since our ears screw with the treble so much
https://www.thomann.de/intl/cad_audio_u29.htm
this would be weird to use in my case...
the k669b will do the job a mice perfectly fine. don’t expect professional studio mic -like experience.
parliament speaker aaah microphone 💀
it’ll be way better than phone mic though
i don't want headset mic
k669b is mic
lemme find it
what
that won't be on thomann I think
k361 is almost bright
??
they have some dips in treble
it has a dip in the upper treble so it never gets sibilant
you can also call bright/dark headphones at the same time
but a peak at 3k that can lend itself a little shouty
i’d personally not cause it is confusing
but overall it's a fairly bright headphone that's not sibilant
fifine is an Amazon exclusive basically
well if it's an amazon exclusive no thanks
ehhh, it’s not
cuz read above what i said
i found a guy that will deliver me stuff from germany
Plug-and-play USB microphone with custom cardioid condenser capsule
isn't this good as well?
rig recording of k361
also it's smaller and more aesthetically pleasing
i didn’t buy mine from amazon so
snowball ice was outdated 20 years ago
🔥
nice
it's an e-tailer exclusive pretty much. Thomann, Sweetwater, etc. are pretty much brick and mortar stores that got moved online
explain about this
how, why?
also do i need to search for large diagram microphones, small diagram condenser microphones, ribbon microphones... what exactly?
well, european market is filled with fifine
infact why don't i just link yall the webpage and find me a decent mic from this webiste
budget for mic is no more than 40 EUR
here you go
can you get a mic arm or no
if yes, atr2100x
if no, rode videomic go 2
i said i don't want a holding mic arm, maybe a standing one on the table... you know what i mean?
look up that website and see what best you can find for my requirements
i really just intend to be replacing this 5 dollar webcam mic
i don't have any special requirements
that was a raw recording nevermind
https://www.thomann.de/intl/the_t.bone_sc_420_usb_desktop_set.htm
this looks interesting, but where would i really put this
i do have some space... but it looks larger
and i would really prefer something in a smaller form factor
this would also obstruct my monitor
if i can just hold it like that, without this stand on the right, then it would be even better
https://www.thomann.de/intl/presonus_revelator.htm
these are slightly more expensive, but i like the stand, the form factor on them
much more compact
https://www.thomann.de/intl/rode_nt_usb_mini.htm
this is perfect
why you won’t just buy an arm
but it is more more expensive
if there's something similar that's also cheaper, it'd be even better
i just don't want to have an arm holding the mic, especially that my room and desk isn't quite big and that it would obstruct other stuff.
https://www.thomann.de/intl/akg_lyra.htm
How's this?
lyra is ok but I prefer the rode nt usb
the mini?
How's this?
this one is the most compact, however it is almost 80 EUR
there's the mini
looks like i will have to save up if i want to get those and the 361 headphones
this design is literally perfect
it is all i have been asking for
small, compact, simple, perfect.
Okay... so
https://www.thomann.de/intl/akg_k_361.htm
5.390 MKD 87,39 €
+
https://www.thomann.de/intl/rode_nt_usb_mini.htm
5.650 MKD 91,60 €
TOTAL:
11,009 MKD 178.99 €
(Shipping not included, but since the guy would bring me these from Germany, and he has to get other audio equipment in bulk anyways, i would assume it would be cheaper)
Studio Headphones For studio, stage and on the road, Closed, Circumaural, 50 mm Driver, Impedance: 32 Ohm, Sensitivity: 114 dB SPL/ V, Transmission range: 15 - 28000 Hz, High external sound-proofing, Automatic ironing banding system, Innovative...
I think we can call this done... now i just need to save up money, and then get these and enjoy my upgrade.
yea don't rush it tbh
anyone else here with the hifiman edition xs and glasses? how did you remove the rubbing sound from the headphones on the glasses? im losing my mind here
are there any better pads to buy to fix this issue?
lenses
dude im fucked
just dont rub em
klaus they creek when i speak
Vaseline
Hi so after doing really weird experiments with my mic and headphones, my Microphone or idk what is picking up my PC Audio, and its become a really annoying problem when am in VC talking to my friends, so Is there any way this can be fixed? (I messed around with a software called "VB-Cable")
I wan't to setup an cheap android tablet with and old radio that has an rca aux input purely for listening to audio books (with a Bluetooth remote control). Is there a better option than this?
you need to learn ventriloquism
Hi guys i wanna upgrade my audio interface from my apollo twin mkii, not because im not happy with the quaility i just want something with some better connectivity, any recomenations?
so i've recently (boxing day) bought myself a nice pair of DT 990 pro 250 ohms (i'm a music student) but only now i realised i had a sound card that can actually drive them?? saved me some £60-100 on an audio interface which is nice but now i'd love to know if there's a cheap / botched way I can get physical faders to manually control the volume of windows applications? i hate the windows mixer thing i'd love to just get a thing on my desk for it. if anyone has any leads or links I'd love them <3
something just like this, no fancy stuff just plug it in and it works with windows
x touch mini with midi mixer is closest i can think of
i JUST found the midi mixer, tryna set it up with my alesis V61 and oh my god its awful but it works kinda
i'm not sure why discord is not being recognised
i wouldn't use an interface that isn't officially supported with it
Man naim makes great products
Do they
My dads all over them, never heard anything with better bass, sound quality, he has spent so much on their products, he has a whole home setup with awesome speakers and everything, he has their lil cubes and rectangle speakers too, sound amazing
Anyone here ever used Samsung buds fe? If yes is it decent quality or is there something better for 70 euro
I was wondering if somebody would be able to recommend some noise canceling headphones around $300. I've been looking at getting some refurbished Bose QC 45s, Bose 700s, or Sony WH-1000XM4s but I'm open to other options
I've used them and the quality is good nothing super special. I know the Sony
WF-C700N are supposed to be good, the anker Liberty 4s are supposed to be good as well, and on amazon I was able to find Galaxy Buds 2 for around $100 USD (however I am in the US
The Galaxy Buds 2 are my daily drivers
Well I've bought them, so ig we'll see if they match up my expectation
I wan't to setup an cheap android tablet with and old radio that has an rca aux input purely for listening to audio books (with a Bluetooth remote control). Is there a better option than this?
You could get a Bluetooth transmitter that puts out RCA. Or even just use a streamer if your app you use for audiobooks allows for casting.
I don't see anything wrong with the setup other than the type c splitter. I've never used one so if you're sure it'll work then it looks good.
Yeah, it is for a non tech literate person so the less technical the better.
I was hoping there was some sort of power and rca usb cable to avoid a janky slitter setup but i just couldn't find one
Might be. Idk. Maybe a powered type c dock?
I couldn't find a small powered usb dock with rca output that didn't only have a 4inch cable.
Just buy a dongle
If you trust a random electronics company with audio it's more than likely gonna be shit
If you get an apple type c headphone adapter for $7, and some 3.5mm to RCA cable adapters from Amazon, that's gonna be better than most of the garbage that's out there
Or a dongle with a cx31993 chip in it
the cables on the dongles are so short, they would have to hang of the tablet. it could use a usb c extension, but that seems more jank than using an extension to the usb splitter?
It won't hang off the tablet it would hang off the type c dock.
Err, hub
Type c hub
Docks are probably gonna be annoying to find one that fits
A dock/hub and a dongle with 3.5mm to rca... that seems like a lot of kit just to get audio and charging
why cx31993 specifically?
Its proven to not be shit
low snr or just reliable?
yeah, that what i meant😆
I also some some otg USB splitter cables that look like they can transmit data and power
That will probably be cheaper than a hub
Is the cx31993 line level or is it designed to drive headphones... i don't want it to be able to break the aux input on the radio at max volume
I am assuming 3.5mm = headphones and rca is more likely to be line level?
I believe it has a max volume of about 2 volts.
And no. They're completely interchangeable.
You won't break anything as long as you're not stupid and play it at max volume to a power amp or something like that
If you're worried, start at 0% volume and work your way up until things start to sound a bit fuzzy (if at all) and then just bring it down a few steps from that and forget about it.
It isn't for me, so I wan't it to be fool proof... so they can turn the tablet volume up to 100% and use the radio volume for controll and it won't break anything
The cx31993 might do 1 volt. I forget.
I know they are in theory, i just mean i'd expect rca to not be designed to power headphones... where as 3.5mm usually is
Yeah it looks like it's a Max voltage of 1 volt which shouldnt be able to blow anything up.
Are there any cx31993 with rca to remove a point of failure?
Not that I know of.
If you're worried you can just wrap some tape around the stress points.
It will survive for a few.months of abuse in someone's pocket
If it's on a tabletop I don't think it'll be an issue
And if it is. A replacement is $7.
I mean more things to get accidentally unplugged 🙄
🤔 maybe i could just replace (solder) the 3.5mm jack with an rca and pigtale the second rca
would a cx31993 work the other way around... could i connect the male usb c to hang off of the wall power brick then have a longer usb c to usb c cable to the tablet. (then an rca to 3.5mm)
do you have a cx31993 dongle like the image?
plz could you test it?
i dont have one of these things
buy one and test it yourself 🙂
oh, ok.
it does
the point of failure is the male end of 3.5mm
an RCA to 3.5mm cable is going to serve you far better than a dongle with RCA coming out of it
? I don't understand...
failure is the male end of 3.5mm
3.5mm cable is going to serve you far better
you say 3.5mm is bad then say it is good?
how is 1 less connection worse?
oks so im a need help i trust ya guys but i need a tv reciver for hdmi so i can run ps5 laptop and have a home theater for movies what wpuld be a good option tag or dm me
because RCA is not a connector designed to be plugged and unplugged
It will always be plugged in. that's the point of it
and having that directly on a dongle which is specifically a portable dac
what you're realistically looking for if you want RCA output is a desktop dac
which should output 2v rather than 1
3.5mm is a connector designed to be cycled
it's not that 1 less is worse, it's that have a relatively niche connector that's less durable in place of 3.5mm is
My blue yeti broke so I bolted a at 2020usb+ to the stand and called it a day, rip yeti
ah, I understand... you are saying;
RCA(female)-DAC + RCA(male)-to-RCA(male) is worse than 3.5mm(female)-DAC + 3.5mm(male)-to-RCA(male)
where as I am suggesting;
3.5mm(female)-DAC + 3.5mm(male)-to-RCA(male) is worse than RCA(male)-DAC
I am asking if there is a cx31993 DAC with a MALE RCA output
a form factor like this
Looking for a good headset, currently having SteelSeries nova 7 , looking for a good high end for gaming and supports Dolby thanks 🙏🏻
that's exactly what I was describing here
that's bad
RCA is not a durable connector
you want the cables to be replaceable, not disposable
i have no choice, it is on the back of the stereo
there will need to be at least 1 set of rca
why?
because when the RCA connector fails, you don't replace the whole dac
3.5mm despite all its weaknesses, is a far more durable connector
wdym when the rca connector fails?
RCA is not a durable connector
the usb c will be the one being unplugged, if any at all
I'm just telling you why it doesn't exist
CX31993 is also a rather niche dac chip
niche dac on top of niche cable means you're not finding what you want
you can order an ALC5686 board and solder rca cables to that
wouldn't the extra weight of the jack and jack plug put extra strain on the usbc?
type C is quite durable and can sustain it
you can grab smth like this
and some of this
build your own
is there a solderable board with power in?
otherwise I'm just telling you, what you're looking for does not exist.
that is the end goal, maybe i could just build it
