zen air also has treble grain
yes much better actual setup
the modi one is outta stock
Are studio headphones good for general usage?
💀
wow they relabeled them
Can someone suggest me some good overear headphone for music listening under $100 (PLEASE NO GAMING HEADPHONES WITH MICS))
ksc75
oh i forgot to mention, overear
magni has strong power output but that's about it
get iems
so whats the purpose of the magni and the modi?
but i will need both?!
iems pains my head
you wont
or u could get magni+ and apple dongle
if u want to save
money
💀
not rlly
its a really clean dac
"clean"
my man audio artifacts are hard as fuck to hear unless you have very apparent jittering anyhow
there is a reason any high end dacs that make a difference have measurable coloring
is audio technica good?
and low end ones don't
cheap ones no
just look at holo may
Audio Technica ATH-M30x
500 pcm filters in parralel lmao
dont get
yes
ill try to find it in my country
Guys
Why are some headphones rated SO LOUD
like 120 db, are you kidding me?
especially the cheaper ones and "gaming" branded
because higher number = better
or at least thats what the average consumer thinks
wdym rated
you mean wireless headphones?
What value are you talking about? Sensitivity is often in that area... And thats perfectly normal.
Never seen a rating of Max DB output of a headphone
its not all that rare
man ive seen some crazy shit done by metalheads you dont wanna know
we fuckin hate our ears lmao
@warm scarab do you know if just buying cd's would have higher sound quality than the "hifi" tier on tidal? I know the mqa shit is goin on, whats ur opinion? Or would there be another source for ALBUMS that are hifi, for a similar price?
its the same
well should be if tidal isn't advertising lies again
like with mqa which was supposed to be lossless but was proven to be lossy
anyhow given that the hifi tier works as advertised in tidal it should be identical to cd rips
alr
yo so @tawdry gale
i'll just need the magni?
and the apple dongel
the modi isn't needed 100%?
if u want to save money, its optional
just get apple dongle
get magni+
and the preformance difference won't ve much?
not magni heretic
alr
u will also need to buy a rca to 3.5mm since u are getting apple dongle
Interesting
just get one from amazon
is that when it kills itself
Thats the reccomended listening Level
truly
might be a bit difficult for 200gbp
you have weird import taxes
hd560s and fifine t669 + any cheap mic arm you can find
yes but that's not always an option for someone, or someone just wants a headset
what would you recommend to add dolby atmos to a home theater projector setup when i already have two existing klipsch floorstanding speakers i want to keep
more klipsch stuff then I guess
as someone who’s listened to (and likes) the sound signature of R70X, HD 560S, HD 660S and Sundara, what iems around the £200-£400 mark can you guys recommend with a similar sound signature, good resolution and staging, and good QC?
that's a really wacky selection of headphones
ong frfr
didnt even notice tbh i just typed 1000
best overall iem in that price range is probably Truthear Nova, especially if youre looking for treble resolution
idk how availability will be for you though since it was just recently released
hasnt even released yet, just a preorder
lmao
Looking for proper over the ear nose canceling headphones. Preferable wireless, for use while traveling. 300-400ish area. Willing to move budget if it lets me listen to my audio book while not hearing people chew. I have air pod pro 2 and they work great for outdoor & general surroundings but I need in closed spaces noise canceling. Helps me stay o. The right head space
n700nc m2's lack of manufacturing has had terrible consequences on the travel audio community
Noise canceling is good at removing low freq, not very good above that. Sony NC tech is pretty good. I liked the sound of the sennheisers more, so got them instead (PXE550 II)
The noise canceling is great on road trips to remove the low freq tire rumble on unsealed/non smooth roads
modi is not needed period
Modi is really meh
It's technically better than the Apple dongle because it outputs at the right voltage for a dac but honestly, it doesn't matter that much for the amount of money you save
If you can one of the discontinued meizu hifi pro dongle (black) that'd be optimal as that not only is as clean as the apple dongle (or cleaner actually I don't remember) it also almost does 2v rather than 1 of most dongles
but aside from that, modi just isn't worth it outside of looks
that makes it trash
sure then
you get 8$ audio at 10x price markup
yeah its more like 11
it's one of the cheapest dacs that does the proper 2v
I have incredibly sincere doubts anyone could blind an asus motherboard, an apple dongle and a modi then make out which is which
I am very confident I couldn't
I can for the motherboard and dongle
only because I have not encountered a motherboard that doesn't have a schiit ton of noise
and in some very rare cases there's artifacting in the audio
I haven't had that and I couldn't tell a difference
Between an Apple dongle and a Modi (or any higher tier dac) I basically never can tell
if its a measurementphile dac I can't
if it has funky pcm filters I can
even on the same dac with overwritten pcm filters through hqplayer I can tell the difference sometimes

same + motherboards
Motherboards too hit or miss to say anything about
the problem with motherboards are the ones that have a wonky high impedance
a lot of them do
for some reason
Oh yea forgot about that part too yea some headphones sound goofy on some motherboards because of it
I never used any of these as amps really so it hasn't been an issue
I wired them up to the same amp
Fair enough
modi ON TOP!!!!!
(big bottom energy)
aint nothin better than a modi and a 75% functional magni
kek
i keep forgetting you own the funny magni
If its my Mainboard (x570-i or simelar) im very confident i could if one of the dongles is at least good - only know my poco f2 pro build in one is a lot better.
would probably change your mind very fast if you volume match them
Klaus deaf confirmed
Even then i would Tell directly.
Its impressive how Bad my Onboard is - still think its kinda broken.
Front output def is.
if its really bad that's a different thing
My 80 Euro mixer is better with the Monitor out.
a standard level motherboard you shouldn't be able to tell apart though
Anything i had my hands on was trash compared to my phone
Noise, Power, and something i wont be able to describe cause im not a doctor in audiotism
Most likely something with output impedance or whatever - maybe mixed with random trash that gets outputted when using usb - i dont care.
I just know what i heared
And i can say my 10 Euro type c dac killed any mobo out. Except my zephyrus g14, that one weirdly enough is decent to the point where i wouldnt directly say which one is my phone.
Sadly its gone for some reason...
On the other Hand for my phone i have my phone (lol) and for PC i have my Overkill k7.
why did they make it look this way
terrible design choice
aria 1 was absolutely beautiful they butchered it in 2
All the good moondrop engineers went to truthear lol
All I can think of
ong
i didnt think aria 1 was beautiful but it looks far nicer than 2
I love classy looks, despite it being a 70$ chifi iem
if i made my own iem it would probably be all matte black with no design
moondrop variations treble and a 12db peak bass shelf starting at 80hz
I'm looking for a headset that will last me a very long time, high quality, 3 digit price tag for my pc so mic won't be of concern, preferably wired but I'll do wireless if I have to. does anyone have any suggestions?
I found the Razer blackshark v2 but before I buy something too soon I want to know if there's any other opinions out there
sennheiser pc38x and audeze maxwell are the two best gaming headsets
i might not go the maxwell becuase I was thinking cap of $200 if I really had to but thats 300 on amazon lol
i actually might just go with the blackshark v2 but the 2020 version
i know theres 2023 and i would get it but the only major improvement is battery life and mic quality. My mic is already 200+ for a blueyeti with an arm stand so i will never use the mic and battery life would be nice but isnt worth $70 extra.
if you dont need a microphone then you dont need to be shopping for headsets specifically
then dont get a fuckin headset my guy
damn alright chill
just grab like dt880s, hd560s or something
what should i go for then
there's too many options to list but those are the ones found in most stores
i have beats studio headphones if i wanted headphones id use those but id prefer ones made for gaming thats why i looked in that direction
studio headphones are better than gaming headphones for gaming
its just marketing bullshit
what you want is imaging and soundstage
for directional audio, comfort, noise cancelation etc
why would you want noise cancellation for gaming?
why not
because open backs give you a much wider soundstage and generally better imaging?
oh
so open back = no noise cancelation
well they are literally open
everything goes in, everything goes out, but they are imo far better if you dont have your setup in like the middle of the living room
and if you live alone that wouldnt matter anyway either
but to clarify, soundstage basically is just how wide the sounds are and you can make out distances easier, imaging means directional audio basically. ofc there's more to them but thats the tldr
that makes some sense, i'm still figuring out tech stuff so if i dont know immediatly thats why, i was just under the impression that noise cancelation was better, it is for around the house/phone/music and such so i just applied one logic to another
should i buy a 9.1.4 samsung soundbar? There is hardly any content for that. So should i just go with 7.1.2 samsung?
so I would want a headset with good soundstage and imaging
also can I use 360 audio on my galaxy buds 2 pro if they're connected to a samsung neo qled 2022 tv?
headphones*, headset includes a mic
but yes
right, headphones. ok
before i spend anything ill test my studio pro wireless' headset on gaming before i buy a different one for gaming
maybe i can use both for both
*one for both
generally speaking they are pretty terrible for gaming, especially if you use them on bluetooth since it adds a shitload of latency
@silver cypress get the hd560s. Open backs are an entirely new experience for gaming.
Life changing
Well actually, if your in game audio is louder than stuff around you you don’t hear the stuff around you
usually if your environment is quiet enough (closing room door should do the trick) nothing comes through but the game
Open backs leak audio too, but someone would have to prop their ear on the earcup to get anything intelligible out of it
Sounds like a good question for Google
i tried but the information seems to greatly vary
That sounds about right
bro is about to experience reasonable midrange and treble
Best audio I’ve heard was klipsch r-41m through a 50 year old transistor amp
Other than that, best headphones/in ears have been wireless gaming headphones
I got a 1/4” to 3.5mm so I can use them on my desktop too until I get some better headphones
all amps are transistor amps
they fit good, they sound good, they get loud
Would the Pebble still be the best budget PC speakers?
cheapest ye
With open back headset do other people can hear the sound coming when they are close to you?
Like music for example 🤔
get your headphones and take them off your head while they're playing something
thats pretty much how loud they'll be
It's gonna be about the same as someone using their phone speakers on extremely low volume.
Like 5-15% depending on the headphones and how "open" they are
Sennheisers are usually better, stax are usually the worst offenders
are there good wireless headphones without active noise cancelling thing?
Audeze Maxwell
ones i use (phatan 2bt ) lasted me so many years and still work perfectly, however are very very worn
audeze maxwell are very expensive
You didn't give a budget
well under 80$
you can't get anc under 80$
jbl tune 710/720bt
i had bad experience with jbl tbf
certain jbl models sound very good
literally only the 700 series
i am more worried about reliability
I guess if u dont want jbl, then spend more
otherwise the rest is shit
$80 Bluetooth headphones just aren't built to be reliable.
my phatan 2bt just held up well not once had issues..
i think they are not made anymore..
Look for something with a metal headband and replaceable cushions.
My recommendation would be the koss porta pro wireless.
you want an 80$ wireless headphone
you really don't have many options in terms of reliability
you wont find anything better than a jbl 710
maybe the moondrop space travel, they also have anc despite it being terrible
but in ears
i want headphones without active noise canceling
just found an old sm58 chilling in storage
I’m hearing sounds in my favorite songs that I’ve never heard before
jbl 710 and moondrop space travel still
This treble is WILD
which headphone
Oh those weren't the ones Michael recommended were they
We should really be more careful. Michael is a random weird dude who comes in and recommends random stuff he finds on Ali express.
He's been banned from multiple servers for doing this
Smh my head
hes also said that he had to literally kiss his sm57 to get good audio levels which just isnt true
I think that was for his YouTube fart content
lmfao
He wasn't talking about kissing the mic with his lips
honestly wouldnt be surprised if he did just upload vids of him farting
He gets a lot of patroen money
LMAO
bruh no way
There's something behind the 100$/month tier that for some reason makes it the most popular subscription
WTF
Every time I bring it up he pretends like he doesn't know what I'm talking about
lmfao
Or like makes a joke about it or something
mans gonna start selling his farts in a jar
That's at the $25/month tier
I have no idea!!
Well the jars are raffled. You don't get them all but he puts them on display with what he ate the previous day
And you can sign up and stuff and get a chance at getting it
💀
Mods are afraid of the truth
cant even say what a child calls their father
Papa
ai papi¿

LTT is filled with adult consent workout jokes but the actual word for it is censored lol
you gotta buy it and let the people know what it is
oh lit my lampshades are here
far more exciting than an audio product
difused lighting for patreon
i wish i had a patreon that people subscribed to that would be lit
maybe i should start actually doing what nips said that i do
Actual question though, while ago you talked about how you literally had to eat the sm57 to get good levels, but ive got one and a 58 and its perfectly fine like 5 inches away, sure yours wasnt broken?
yeah i don’t think it was broken
i had the hardware gain set low enough to where i could scream into the mic and it wouldn’t clip
Bruh god damn, thats what compression is for lmao
yeah i use extreme digital compression along with very low hardware gain
i put the compression threshold at the level of my quietest realistic talking volume and then use a 10:1 ratio lmao
and then add however much software gain i need afterwards
quite literally impossible for me to ever hardware or software clip even if i do a blood curdling scream and my final digital level is always within a +-6db window
Damn thats a lot of compression lol
yeah it’s definitely excessive but i like it
looking for longer IEM cables, was wondering if there is anything specific i should be looking for?
set up: yeti, evo 4, aria reds
Yeah, I’ve wanted to just sell my sm7b cause why tf I need it, i got a 58 chilling around? And am thinking of doing the sm7b shell mod to put it in, cause I like the 7b design
just get a 3.5 extension cable
👍🏽
i saw some listings on amazon abt bluetooth? anyone ever used IEMs w bluetooth cable and mix amp before?
I do have bluetooth adapters but a mix amp?
like i use evo 4 mixer
i don't think i can connect bluetooth to that?
yes you can't
ok, i'll just stick to the 3.5 for now then
also evo 4 mixer?
evo 4 is an audio interface is it not
i think you might be able to use it with evo 4 if it is a software
I don't know the program though
oh uh idk, i've heard it be called a mixer so i just use that term
Gotta get a 50ft extension cable to make my wired headset basically wireless in terms of mobility in a room
wait until you tug on it
Would have to wrap it around my room 5 times for it to start tugging lol
you should do it and let us know how it turns out
until you roll over it with your chair 500 times
until you step on it once
Just gotta learn how to 3d print, cause 3d printing companies prices here are absurd
how much worse is putting speakers behind you vs infront? i wanna have a pair of speakers setup for watching movies in bed and i might have them behind me
try
Worst case scenario it will sound like speakers placed behind you
New mic! :D
Should I get the xm5 Sony ear buds
no 🙂
Is there a particular reason
Looked like decent deal at 25% off
It's same price as the xm4s
With that sale
$300 usd is a lot of money
oh.
still
thats a lot
you can get decent tws
for a llot les
like $100 usd
like samsung galaxy buds or moondrop space travel
bruh 4th time some mofo just didnt show up when they were gonna buy my goxlr
people out here baiting you
New focusrite scarlet solo & Schiit magni freshly mounted under my desk for easy access
do you have the difference in sound?
Logitech z333 is ok?
😢 I'm using LG C2 with Sony HT S40R dolby sound bar which is connected with eArc HDMI port in TV and this whole system is connected to PC with HDMI 2.1 to TV
Now Problem is in windows 11 Dolby Access app when I try to choose Dolby Atmos for home theater it says (select Dolby Atmos for Home Theater in Spatial Sound) but there option is missing only windows sonic and dolby atmos for headphones is available.
If I disconnect my sound bar from TV then only Dolby Atmos for Home Theater in Spatial Sound will be show.
Is there any fix please help 😢
Guys
Need help
So i bought a lavelier micrphone (with 3.5 trrs port)
it works on my phone
but not in my pc
in my pc i have a tyical green-audio and pink-mic port
i connected it to my mic port
it detects it
but no sound goes in
like i shout but no input detected
is it because i use a trs port?
so if i buy a female trrs to male trs, will it work?
Yes and yes
steelseries arctis s9 mic not working no volume is getting picked up any reasons why?
@warm scarab nerdest of all
any clue
I have HyperX Cloud Alpha - Gaming Headset and the aux cord is broken can I use any aux cord to replace it
Depends- are we talking mic sound, of audio output sound through my headphones?
should be fine. Just make sure the number of bands on the aux jack match. Two is just audio, three is audio and mic
Mic
Just using for audio but use have two different size plugs
They use skinner one for headset idk why
Worried it won’t fit hole
TBD. I've been using a blue yeti for the past 7 years, now I'm switching over to a sm7b. It should be better, but I've yet to use it.
Ok
i want wireless headphones for a reasonable price any recomendations on PC as well
Audeze Maxwell
i said for a reasonable price 300 quid is a lot of money my budget is 200
Well it's reasonable considering what you're getting
But I see what you mean
Idk then
Cloud 2 wireless
ty
Are these good earbuds because I bought myself them
if you've already bought them then at this point if you're happy with them, they're good.
Ok
Have you got them yet?
theyre coming in tomorrow i was just asking incase if i should get a different pair
if you can go for truthear hola or https://www.amazon.co.uk/Linsoul-TANGZU-Waner-S-G-Detachable-Black/dp/B0BL16M8FH
better iems similar if not same price
Specification: Name: TRUTHEAR HOLA Driver: 11mm Dynamic Driver Diaphragm: PU Suspension+LCP Dome Composite Diaphragm Impedance: 28Ω±15%@1kHz Sensitivity: 120dB/Vrms @1kHz THD: THD≤0.1% @1kHz(94dB) Frequency response: 8-46kHz (IEC61094, Free Field) Effective Frequency Response: 20-20kHz (IEC60318-...
i might get those if i actually like the iems i got
i'd probably go for them and return the others
as they are overall better iems
i dont know if the ks1 are any good but they wont be no where near as good as the wan'er and hola as they are newer and are actually pretty good for the price
I returned them
kk
the New Sony WH-1000XM4 Headphones have a feature that make it when you say what it pauses the music
new?
fifine mics have been fine for me
do u know any other suggestions
Would you say its been fifine?
:|
never try and make a joke again please 🙂
Ill have you know i put next to no effort into that
that doesnt help your case
I still have an ipod shuffle from over 10 years ago and i just pulled it out again after it sitting for a few years and it still works. Might just start using that for all my music.
hey guys, my digital to analog audio converter is doing this thing upon startup where it sometimes makes a super duper loud static noise... this occurs randomly, and any usb port i plug it into does the same exact thing.
are there any DAC's that you guys would recommend i look at?
i currenlty have this... so which one should i get... i can really push past $100 bucks, but i would prefer a higher quality device that i don't spen 100 bucks on that produces static like the one i have after 6 months
i'm using it for my PC and only using headphones, no speakers
I would contact creative and see if you can get it RMA'd
Or a refund or whatever
can't get a refund now
i can contact amazon
bc i have to unplug it and plug it back in for the static to go away
it's so dumb
Why can't you contact creative?
they have their website but they also list their phone number, but their phone number isn't even there lol
Email?
i sent an email to creative
but i would see what other ones you guys would recommend
I mean. If you want features like what the x4 offers then idk.
I guess just stick with the x4
Otherwise a fosi ds1 or a qudelix 5k.
i'm not really looking for features
Fosi ds1 or qudelix 5k then
only reason why i got a DAC was because my aux audio from my mobo and case were making static noises
Then maybe not the qudelix. Mine leaks noise pretty poorly with a dirty USB
But I got it 2 years ago so they mightve fixed it
Small USB DAC headphone amplifier with optimized HiFi audio architecture ensures High-Resolution sound quality. The portable USB DAC DS1 compatible with various systems like Android/iOS/Windows/Mac, compatible with the latest devices: phones/computers/tablets/laptops/audio players, etc. Wonderful...
really, this?
idk about it, man
it seems kinda small to claim it has 32bit 768kHz audio
what does that even mean
my audio is 24bit 192000Hz audio, what is that compared
so is it 32bit 768000Hz?
it doesn't really mean anything
its kind of like resolution for sound, but really its resolution you're not capable of hearing.
ok
anything above 24bit 96khz is just for flexing
but that fosi thing, i see here in reviews it has a tendency to make some static
¯_(ツ)_/¯
any others you'd recommend?
there's the schii fulla but i think im kind of against dacs that are not that easy to upgrade from
if you dont see yourself upgrading to anything fancy down the line then that would probably be more than enough for you
bro this sucks lmao
it's one thing after another
i may just contact creative, see what they say
in the mean time, just unplug the damn thing and then plug it back in everytime it happens
it's either spend like 70-150 bucks on another one, or just unplug and replug
lmao
i mean what do you think
I would get a new x4 from creative and save the $100 for elsewhere
sure lmao
Best tws $100
I have the Pebbles and they're more than fine for everything
Around 100$ nothing ear 2 is best option
Sth with 6.5hr minimum and 30hr with case
Is the Sony WH-1000XM4 any good?
does it matter if i use a 230v on a 220v wall?
bcus my speakers are cutting on and off, crackling, bass distortion, everything (i explained the problem on #1027757333117415424 )
No
why not
great noise cancelling performance, not great sound
anything better for a budget of around £220? i have airpods max but i find the sound quality isnt great on windows
tbh, sound on windows would 99.99% be doodoo
so keep the airpods max
with any headphones? fr?
yea, cause they dont support higher bandwidth bluetooth codecs
fuk
all you get is sbc
any way round it?
any headphones that do that?
not that i can remember, you prob should wait for other to chime in
suggestions?
on which ones
any that have noise cancelling, very comfy and amazing sound and mic quality for £220 or under
none that aren't garbage have noise cancelling
razer made one or two but they are jokes
you can't get ANC, Useful for gaming, and good sounding in one
do i just stay with my airpods max then
noise cancelling, surround sound thingy, and sounds relatively good on windows, not the best
idk what to do thennnnnn
?
why not
you should be answering why instead
what sort of bg noise are you combatting?
most people use open backs with less than closed back noise isolation
ig i’m still kinda traumatised from the fans of my gaming laptop 😭 but my sisters always rly shouty when she plays roblox so thats not ideal
Anyone know how to fix issues with elgato wave 3? I installed windows and it isnt working at all, in the past ive had these issues but had to reinstall which id like to avoid.
it shows up the input working in the wave software but nowhere else
Have you tried emailing elgato?
I need help i have my headphones and XLR microphone connected to my goXLR which is connected to my computer. I was wondering if there was a way to have it connected to my ps5 and my pc and i can easily swap between the two depending on which one i am using. Is there anything that can do this or is it not possible
If the ps5 recognizes the goxlr and works via usb you could probably just get a usb switcher no?
i have figured out how to do it now turns out the goXLR can support both devices at once and i have found some adapters that allow me to use it on the PS5
In this video, Resolve provides an overview of the revolutionary new Audeze Maxwell gaming headset. He does a deep dive on of all of its functions and features, along with a lengthy discussion on the Maxwell's sound quality for both music and gaming. Check out how this does for audiophiles as well as gamers.
Audeze Maxwell: https://headphones.c...
ive not tried it but this is meant to be good and does all of what you say
apple dongle
if you can get buds 2 at that price those should be good
Bro what
USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter
slitinto USB C to USB adapter, using USB3.0 transmission protocol, the maximum transmission speed of 5Gbps, while supporting QC3.0 fast charging protocol, the maximum current of 3A, so that you can enjoy the fast transmission and charging at the same time. usb-c adapter shell using high-quality a...

doesn't have ANC
im getting close to needing to upgrade my phone i currently have a s20 f2, im considering getting a s23 im wondering which s23 has the best audio when used with earbuds or headphones?
it probably really doesn't matter
Are there any good recent mp3 players out there?
Yeah but they're either really sketchy or really expensive
I just want a device that can play music for hours and have all my music stored on it. Im talking like 20+ hours
Is walkman still a meme
Hisense has a hifi e reader with a pretty decent DAC in it.
Used ipod touch
They still sell stuff but it's $$$
What is it called?
Don't sleep on the iPod touch you can still get Deezer and tidal on the touch if it's new enough
And it plays FLAC
AND there's no BTR shenanigans needed because IT HAS A 3.5MM JACK
I alr have that, want an upgrade
buds 2 pro or airpods pro 2
thats it really
ofc with the airpods you only have basic functions, no fancy spatial audio or all other bells and whistle
I don't like any of the gbuds
Airpods is out of price range and shit on Android
Considering between jbl live pro2, liberty 4 nc and space a40 atm
But curious if y'all have anything else idk abt
what do you hate about the buds?
For buds 2 pro I don't like the fit
5hr battery life
Wind noise
Weak overall nc
I haven't tried the mic but mic is shit on the buds 2 tho
Always receive complaints
I haven't tried the fe but 5hr battery life is a deal-breaker unfortunately
And I want at least ipx4
For just sound the buds are p good
sony xm5 then i guess?
i see
nothing is better then
spacetravel is in that budget but moondrop anc is historically ass
not sure if they improve the sound, i got the live pro + and while the anc is pretty good, my oh my does the bass sound boomy
hmm??
It's better than whatever this is
Yes.
And u can use custom eq to slightly reduce the upper mids
Harman is good like that
what is this?
I'll eq you to reduce your upper mids
Lam watch out
You're gonna be v shaped by new years
That's live pro+ fr
Gonna introduce a hifiman dip to sound your stage
hmm, probably why it sounds boomy af
bass hump right near the mid region
It should sound muffled and warm af
But they could've pushed out an update to fix the sound
Idk why jbl suddenly do sth like this when most of their shit harman
jbl tries to keep their identity seperate during this time iirc
this is live pro+on rtings hats
in what world, edition xs is now the same price as hd600
have you ever listened to these headphones or are you echoing some discord servers rambling
My favs are trio, ie900, neo
I don't care abt stage unless it's speakers
is that any reason to completely disregard it in headphones
Ye
Could be etymotic stage, could be hd800, don't matter to me
Imaging also a complete non-factor
imaging I don't care too much about either except for gaming
which I rarely bother to swap headphones for
Excuse me what? The hd600 is nice but they definitely arent even close to the edition xs
Yesbro
does anyone know how to use the samsung av surround receiver av-r720
hallo people, looking to get a wireless headset within a £50 (for the americans its around $60) range and so far im looking at the Corsair Void RGB Elite Wireless and the Logitech G435, whatre your opinions/suggestions?
so you are telling my that when I bought an m2 macbook, I also bought a high-impedance dac and amp in one?
yes you did
macbook headphone out like super apple dongle
thats a bit of an exaggeration but you get the gist of it
ama go get new headphones
got it, the review video i watched (not a creator with good recs or audio advice) said it did but they got confused
theres microphoens in the headset to potentially do ANC with the right software update
but as of now i dont think thats a feature
Can you stack sound mixers?
Like
Put your device a and device b into a sound mixer, output of sound mixer plug into other sound mixer together with device c?
Any recommendations for a good wireless headset for ~ $100-200?
cloud ii wireless
any news from focal about their next wireless anc headphones?
i currently got me the focal bathys
any recommendations for a basic multi-channel amp I can throw in the shop at work to drive four speakers? We're just hooking up via bluetooth and aux jack
I can add a Bluetooth input if needed so that's pretty optional too
I dont like hifiman stuff either
didnt like XS, sundara, ananda, arya etc
audeze stuff on the other hand, is better
I liked mm100, mm500 and maxwell
tanchjim one dsp vs truthear hola vs Linsoul TANGZU Wan’er S.G vs TANCHJIM ZERO?
I would rec hola or jade waner
i alr got both but i'd love a traditional earbud design
as akgs that come with samsung where so comfy
they are called bullet style
got it
you might be able to wire them up in series and parallel to a 2 channel amp if it doesn't need to have seperate inputs
oh yea, hasn't thought of that.
shit is gonna be all mono anyway so who gives a shit as long as the juice is available
take a look at the fosi v3 as an amp and then find some dongle dac or bluetooth transmitter
fosi being recommended still gives me shivers
they're having a comeback
any good gamingheadsets with mic for 80$
before i order a hyperx one
is the hyper x any good? what about the razer blackshark?
i do need a new headset. my cheap jbl isn't all that good
take a look at the pc37x and the pc38x
if it makes you feel better whatever I get is being sent to hell
right into a machine shop
audio quality just needs to be "yeah whatever"
He's saying that because fosi has a reputation for bottom of the barrel sort of extremely cheap stuff
Now it's top of the barrel extremely cheap stuff
we've been using looted ancient pa equipment with death trap wiring so that's fine, lol
one amp already got smoked so basically anything is an upgrade
razer headphones can be a bit meeeh
do you guys think focal will upgrade the anc in the focal bathys with a update?
I didn't even know they updated their headphones
The Fosi class D amp should be used with caution.
With headphones, that thing is going to have a significantly increased output at higher freqs, and MUCH higher ultrasonics.
There's a possibility of damage to headphones and/or hearing
Is that the typical load dependence that you see with lower quality class D amp?
Also who is using the fosi amp for headphones
yes
Zeos has been recommending a Fosi class D amp for a while
What will it do at 32? Or 300?
see following sentence
32 and 300 ohms not khz
It's not been measured at higher impedances yet
Thankfully the psychos who use speaker amps for headphones also typically like to use fancier stuff. If I see anyone having interest in using it as a headphone amp I'll tell them it's inadvisable
plug 600ohm 880s into it and explode your ear drums
Yeah but a fair few people are running it for headphones
Zeos has been recommending it

Have you sent him a message about it
yes
Got the usual 'Well I'm using it and I'm fine' answer from a few folks in his chat and then they started talking about how great it is again so I just dropped it
Something something horses and water
Can you do those measurements with your fancy measurement equipment
i don’t think there’s any circumstance in which i would ever recommend that someone speaker tap anymore
there are headphone amps that’ll drive the hardest headphones on low gain and laugh
And there are speaker amps which are clean and low noise enough to drive very sensitive iems.
Would you rather have a scooter that can carry a sumo wrestler or a massive truck that can carry a gymnast
(one is much cooler than the other)
mad science hour as one particular individual would say
I like it mostly from the simplicity.
I would like a single solution for my headphones and speakers that I can change with a single button.
There are more good speaker amps that can drive headphones than headphone amps that can drive speakers
this is true
Yes but I don't have the amp
any cheap IEM recommendations? looking for £30 or less. mainly using it for comp gaming and study music
Truthear holas if you can still get them
hola
yeah i can, how do they compare to the Chu 2s?
seen some good reviews for them as well
chu 2 qc is horrible
look at this channel imbalance lol
its down to luck
also the brass nozzle will oxidise
No idea but the people I trust recommend the truthear hola over the chu. I like my holas, I think I'd prefer a more harman bass target rather than a tilt. But again, still good.
Looking for good high end ear buds for android phone
That are comfortable cuz I tried the Sony xm5 and they uncomfortable
Check out the truthear zero:red
How's the comfort on them
Well they come with a ton of tips of different shapes and sizes so odds are the comfort will be good
back in stock but no no, not happening https://camerafoundry.com/products/sm7bs?variant=40406981804130
This project takes handheld dynamic microphones and adapts them to look and sound like the legendary Shure SM7B! IN THE BOX Mic Body Body Thread Adapter Mic Grill Mic Insert Adapter 3x M4x16 Screw NOTE #1 - Does not include the microphone, mic arm, 5/8 to 3/8 adapter or cable. You need to purchase the microphone to go
why in the fuck would you want to make a cheaper mic look like an sm7b
cause I have an sm58 and I like the look of my sm7b and thought it would be fun...
not everything has to be practical
when someone wants an SM7B its not because its the best .
its because its an sm7b
I like the look, and if I could have some fun with that, and significantly cheaper, i dont see why not
Do USBC to headphone jack adapters lower audio quality
there are good headphone jack adapters and bad headphone jack adapters
What are some good ones
if you look up "cx31993 dongle" then you'll find the good ones
the apple usb type C headphone adapter is also good but on android it doesnt work properly
those were convienent but they rarely had good audio quality compared to the cx31993 chip
I concur
I see
That dongle sounds better than the DAC/amp in my galaxy s8
what are your guys opinion on Voicemeeter x64 potato?
What’s the best mic arm. I was looking at Elgato Wave Mic Arm LP but idk if there is a better option and would prefer a flag shot boomarm not a cheap one
its good
I actually prefer the Tangzu Wan'er over the Hola
but it's mainly down to looks
Between the salnotes zero, tangzu wan'er (Jade version is the best one), and Hola you could get any of them and be happy with it
Get tancim one dsp
Which is better the SM7B, MV7, or sE v7
out of those the sm7b
sweet and is the Audient ID4 mkii good?
he didn't mean it was a good mic, he meant it was the best among the mentioned
ok
its 20$ mic tier
ok
i skimmed measurements and it looks fine
i dont have very much knowledge about audio interfaces in my brain matter though
so then it's not worth 699$ au (448 us converconverted(
Sm7b does have its benefits, I find it has 0 high end harshness and is amazing at shock rejection
being unable to respond to frequencies isn't an improvement
oh what should it be?
what are you using it for?
chatting vocals screaming, death core heavy metal type shit
behringer c1 will do
be concerned with the room treatment if anything, if you want peak recording performance
and mic technique
the mic is the last thing you need to pay lots of money for
and even when you do it is the thing that will be of least benefit
Guy can also check out podcastage if he wants more info
I had a c1 before and it sounded like absolute dogshit
lmao what
it is objectively better than an sm7b
if it sounds like dogshit then its either malfunctioning or you are using it wrong
Xm8500 with eq gets scary close to sm7b
Its just got really bad shock rejection, the only part of it that screams $20
yeah
which is odd why would you want to copy sm7b
we are ignoring the drowned out treble?
Yes
fair lmao
Dark smooth sound
muffled
Preferable over bright for stuff like audio books
Ye that's why podcasters use it
anything recorded on it without massive fx, panning or using more than 1-2 instruments on any musical context will make it terribly hazy
Supposed to be for the calm relaxing sound
you can just
add a high shelf
put it to -3dB
wow smooth dark sound
and all I had to do was spend 2 minutes to save myself 380$
Ye sm7b isn't worth fr
But ppl do like that quality for podcasts
I doubt they bother with eq also
I think that is just a presumption
every podcast be like
I have never heard anyone who isn't a podcaster legitimately go out and say yeah I like the muffled voices
sm7b
150hz highpass
12khz lowpass
so i fuck around with realtek and now i have 3 instances of them running, with only 1 of them actually doing sound stuff
anyone knows how to delete the duplicate one?
I was sold on the meze until I heard the microphone audio:/
Meze has a headset?
was about to ask
Yeah
What are you seeing? I don't see any on their site
I feel like I woulda heard about it if they did
i think you might be confusing it with audeze?
Thanks to Meze for sponsoring this video! Meze is hooking our audience up with 20% off the 99Classics in both gold and silver, PLUS FREE SHIPPING. Just use code shortcircuit20 at: https://lmg.gg/99classics
We had Adam sit down with Meze Audio’s 99 Classics headphones. Their wood design is stylish and serviceable, but how do they sound?
Purchas...
Oh. That's an inline mic.
Yeah it sounds pretty crap
idk i'm looking for something with a decent mic and good sound
i saw the pc38x
oh god
:c
just buy seperate mic
or just lav mic
hm
now yall just want me to get a streamer set up
i just wanted a better headset for work mainly but
closed or open
wa?
isolation or no isolation
oh isolation
but you get a lot better sound without
yeah, either u have good sound bad mic, or bad sound good mic
pc38x has a very good mic tbh
😐 why is everything poopy
its open though
why not a good mic and sound?
companies who know how to make good mic are crap at making headphones
:L
and companies that make good headphones don't make headsets
well, generally, when they do it turns out really bad
only exceptions being pc38x and maxwell
latter having a shit mic
pc38x has no isolation
oh, does the maxwell?
yes
welp
but the mic is shit
it has a shit mic tho
😐
also there's not much point in buying a headset if you are getting a mic no?
so just buy a mic
yeah but i want a headset to listen to stuff also
well u have to sacrifice something
headsets and headphones are different
headset is a set of headphones and a microphone
buy mic + headphone
so what headphones should i get? lol
👍
budget?
idk what ever is good just under $1k i guess
oh
mfw I use Microsoft Teams constantly which downgrades any sound quality advantage my mic has
aurorus australis or focal radiance
in that case e-mu teak
with seperate mic
doesn't australis have a terrible reputation
then get a mic of ur own
hm kk
radience i don't know
basically focal celeste but better
aurorus is only available on their website
The Australis represents our effort to create a reasonably priced closed-back headphone that offers exceptional dynamics, timbre, tone and a sense of space and stage. 50mm dynamic drivers 32ohm impedance 6’ TRS (3/4”) terminated cable (Audeze/ZMF compatible) Lightweight construction No animal-based…
i figure if i'm going to buy a headphones it should be good and last a while
focal radiance
better get a soundgasm with those
ah that cheap
lol
sennheiser he1 is 59k usd
these are fancy
in ur budget radiance or australis better
the aurorus are like 3d printable lol
they actually look repairable compared to the more sylized radiance
but sound gud
My airpods pro started having battery issues after only 2 years and it's getting quite annoying to use so i'm not sure if I should buy the same pair or get the 3rd generation airpods or if I should wait a while for the next upcoming airpods but I know I would have wait quite awhile meaning months or more realistically years
I don't want to have the same problem again in 2 years either but I personally don't like over the ear headphones or wired ones either
u use apple? airpods pro 2
Or get something better?
Yeah
battery will die in 2-3 years
The airpods 2 the one with the silicone tips
So that's just a regular thing?
its normal for everything
that has a rechargeable battery
airpods pro 2 is the best thing
that is wireless
So my best bet would to get some sort of warranty?
The latest ones?
The ones without the tips?
i have the first version
its impossible to replace battery on wireless earbuds
Yeah I found out about that
Better than the pro 1?
Noise cancellation better?
I like how the tips on the pro 1 cancel out noise
I'm not trying to sound ignorant or stubborn but how come?
they improved the anc
I know that the pro 1 has tips so it's all in your ear
but the pro 2 is similar to the regular airpods no tip
The ones I have that broke are to the right
the one on the left is airpods 3
i have the ones on the left but the first one
I misunderstood you
So airpods 3 not worth it?
no
Not an upgrade?
It's getting really annoying to use them now
