Doesnt look very comfortable tho
i think that everyone needs room correction
I solved my long standing issue of amp buzzing
it was caused by my phone being on the desk next to my amp
thats good
we need to consume grey
flesh and bones
even the nails
make sure there is nothing left
we will turn his cartilage and bones into gelatin
his bones will be the broth to my soup
Break him down to his basic constituents
we need to deconstruct him at the atomical level
no, deeper
i need to see his quarks and electrons
best speakers?
Genelec 8381A. They're only $30k each.
They're powered
pretty affordable tbh
Has the sm7db made its rounds here yet
didnt know it existed until you just brought it up
It was just announced yesterday
Yeah was really disappointed
shure was like wait a second
we can milk another $100 by putting a fethead in the mic
If they made a usb sm7b they could’ve completely destroyed beacn
when you brought it up that's what i thought it was going to be
Thats what most of us were hoping for
Especially when they put 👀 under a usb sm7b comment a week ago
The only people I find the 7db to be useful for are streamers and youtubers who really dont want to spend money on a decent interface, since itll just replace the booster cost
But if you have an actual decent interface the sm7db is pointless
they do
It looks like it's glued in
I have some 2.1 Logitech speakers and I want to get speakers that sound better. What speakers would you recommend for around $130cad/$100usd (I can buy from either country)
I've never tried it, but you can ask Golden how it was
Theres soft cloth that contacts all the parts it touches on your head. So it is comfy, but it's also a bit rickity.
hmm https://www.amazon.com/SHANLING-UP4-2022-Bluetooth-Single-Ended/dp/B0BCJPB1VQ or https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-BTR5-2021-Bluetooth-Headphone-Resolution/dp/B088YFDYBB
SHANLING UP4 2022 Bluetooth Balanced Headphone Amplifier USB DAC 2 x ES9219C CSR8675 BT Chip 2.5mm Balanced 3.5mm Single-Ended Jack High Low Gain NFC HD Calling for Phone/TV/Tablet/PC/Car
Similar devies just that the FiiO is likely more well known and includes MQA support
UP4 is slightly cheaper right now
$84 vs $110
Fiio is more well known the same way Sennheiser is more well known than hifiman
both UP4 and Qudelix 5k are better than the Fiio
MQA is also kinda useless
it's lossy - not really better than a high bitrate AAC - while being large because it uses the flac container
Looks like the 5k is the same price as the FiiO so the cheaper option is most likely the one I will go for. AKA the UP4. Need a Bluetooth Reciver for wired headphones
technically it's more nuanced and MQA is better than AAC
but
you won't notice it
UP4 is solid for the most part, price is good too
Would I honestly notice a differenece between the 5k and the UP4?
honestly no
you probably won't notice much difference if at all between all three actually
Looks like the UP4 it will be then as it's the cheapest of the 3 options
yea good choice
Since everyone and their mother has gotten rid of the 3.5mm jack I need a solid bluetooth reciever to keep using my wired headphones with. In this case the Audio Technica Ath-m50x's which I got back in like 2014 wouldn't surprise me if there were better options now a days
I do own a FiiO E18 BUT the battery in it is shot and I mainly use it as a DAC for my PC
Ok I can work with $90
The included belt clip MIGHT make a BIG difference for me as well LOL
AKA of me using it vs NOT using it
topping bc3
Which is just a bt receiver
that can handle itself as a dac/headphone amp though, for the price
it has digital out if you want to send the signal to a dedicated dac/amp (and line out if just to an amp)
But you know the best solution for your case is using a small usb c DAC
like that :
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BCKCJQPN @glad creek I already ownb this thing
the one in the screen above is a real dac and a good one on top of that not just a shitty adapater
hi could anyone help me with my headset i have a mic input but i cant hear anything if im watching youtube or in discord i need help i have artic nova 1
hold up
you can get a tube preamp for like 50 euros
I need to buy one this very instant
this is epic
I need the guy who I offered to buy dt880 600 ohm from to respond asap
100% copping
you are telling me I need to lay down 50 bucks and then I get to fuck with the sound?!?!
hell yeaaaaaaa

i had enough and decided to make some code for this
source code and .exe
basically it just uses the fact you can change individual app volumes
it can error out quite abit, no idea how to fix but that seems to work for around 2 hours before crashing
you can just compile the .py file 😭
if you wanna do that its a pip install pycaw subprocess
the exe also runs in the background, you'll have to use the .py file if you want a console
looking to buy a nice speaker setup for my pc i was looking at the nzxt relay and subwoofer but for 400$ i think i could find something similar and way cheaper. any recommendations?
Take a look at the Edifier sd350b and the vanatoo t0 plus
if i switch from dac/amp to an interface, will there be any noticeable drop in sound quality?
that depends on how good your dac amp is, how good the interface is, and how good your ears are
im new to interfaces, is apollo solo good?
It's good if you like pretty lights and mkbhd
Its not that hard, but to find non-pirated lossless Audio on lesser known stuff is hard...
Well okay, there are Album CDs, but even ripping These is considered pirating - at least here in germany.
you are looking at the wrong places
would somebody recommend me some great over ear headpohones under 217$
It is a while since my last headphones broke and i'm starting to be kinda despret without them 🫠 😭
By on ear you mean this?
217 is rather oddly specific
That's my budget
by on ear i mean over ear
🤦♂️ 🤦♂️
can any one help me with this,, am in ubuntu
is bang & olufsen good speaker for a laptop?
Hd560s then
It's not an issue.

Ploopy headphones 🤮
it appears... i have cable ordering to do
Hi! I've been using Voicemeeter Banana for a while and when I want to play CS2 my audio cripples or whatever it is called, it's interrupted audio and slowed down. If I put it on my speaker it works just fine but if I put it through voicemeter to my headphones it does this. Also this and Forza Horizon 5 are the only games who have this problem, other audio is completely fine
voicemeeter magic
least problematic voicemeter user experience
yeah i’ve been watching his headphone journey
he stole my joke in his original xs video
his opinion on xs has seemingly stayed the same though
he likes the soundstage and bass after eq but ended up not being being able to tolerate its treble
he returned it a few minutes ago
he uses macbook output
underpowering planars is gonna make the treble sound not good
and he uses eq presets instead of EQing by ear
big copium
please no trolling grey
eq presets can work out
The AutoEQ target is copium
Oratory
as if that wasn't bad there is also the eq headroom to consider
You should not EQ for full target adherence
lmao
eq presets are good if the headphone has alright unit variation tolerance
as long as you know its limitations
mainly that upper treble is highly susceptible to unit variation and your own ears fucking with it
i dont even bother using the 8-13khz filters in oratory presets
edifier has some very nice reviews will def try thank you good sir
nots ure if this is directly related to it but when I start playing fortnite for a min, fn crashes, my audio stops working (i use goxlr and it just closes and when i try to open it back up it gives me an error saying its already open (yes I've checked task manager)) and all my audio just does not work and even before it crashes i can only hear certain sounds in fortnite and not main sounds like lobby music and breaking stuff, and my pc is pretty beefy 3090, i9-12900k ddr5 and whatnot and im even playing on performance settings and low stuff. what could be the issue?
what is your setting in windows control panel for output device
advanced in properties
sometimes if you set it to something like 32 bit or very high sample rate it can break some games and applications
i know it was an issue on rdr2 for me where it would make the audio completely break and make the game not work correctly
32 bit 48000
use 16bit 48k
99% of what youll encounter using a computer is 16bit 44.1 or 48
but setting 44.1 can cause issues like what you stated
why 16 bit
I don't know much about bitrate
isn't 24 used in most playback
music playback I mean
some lossless files are going to be 24bit 96khz
but mp3 and flac are usually 16bit 44.1
most games and youtube media and other stuff is gonna be 16 48
youtube is unsurprising
im not quite sure why some companies are so obsessed with sample rate
even 44.1khz supports 20-22,000hz
if youre actually recording things beyond the human hearing range then sure but for music releases why bother
its not about supporting upper frequencies
its just more samples for more accuracy
it can be unnecessary or inaudible though
i think that may be true for 16bit vs 24bit
but i dont think there's any value in using a higher sample rate
maybe not for listening
anyone have experience with this
specs seem decent, balanced hybrid tube amp
class a
looks kinda cringe
looking to finalize my choice of headphones as the HD600. thoughts?
580>
I just talked my dad out of getting a soundbar, and I said some bookshelf speakers. What should I say now? He doesnt really wanna deal with an amp.
Theres plenty of powered speakers that have amps built in. Like pretty much all of edifiers stuff
anything good for a large room for <300usd?
any recommendation for good budget ear hook microphone (head mic) that also does well for outdoor use?
Hi so i have this problem where my audio becomes muffled in different apps when I use discord so my friends voices will all become muffled sometimes it happens to my audio in discord and on my game but when i dont use discord the issue doesnt happen. It didnt happen with my old headphones so im confused can sum1 plz help this thing been going for like 4 month
are you using bluetooth?
edifier s880db look pretty neat.
sounds like you are using bluetooth
bluetooth cannot handle both input and output simultaneously, it shits itself and goes phone call quality
edition xs
Hd6xx.
Can’t u only get them from Massdrop?
And don’t they have horrible customer service?
best headphones for music and gameng?
It’s a concern cuz I don’t live in the US and I’d be paying a lot for international shipping (I live in Ireland)
i havent had any issues with drop.
but yeah 6xx only available through drop
Idk that’s just what I’ve heard others say I’m glad u had a positive interaction tho cuz it gives me more confidence now
I was looking at them initially
The Warwick Acoustics APERIO is designed without compromise to set new standards in sound reproduction, and to redefine the level of audio performance achievable in a headphone system. The APERIO reference headphone system strives to deliver the highest level of audio performance achievable, by means of our proprietary
Would’ve loved to own a pair
wow really
What a bargain!
Budget?
I mean to be fair he did say best
he came in yesterday asking for the best speakers
so either he's shopping for a saudi prince or he's compiling a "top ten audio products" tiktok
My belief is to never buy from Drop unless you are in the US, their customer service is known to not be great, their shipping time outside the US is long, and shipping prices outside are high
I hoped that when corsair bought drop they would make it more accessible globally
yeah that's what i've been hearing a lot of
@warm scarab I found a pair of HD600s for 300 euros
worth it or nah?
I'll give it to you straight
I really dislike the entirety of the 6** lineup
so I would only buy an hd600 if it was like 150$ so it at least has resell value
or I can build a zeos wall with it
Also obligatory guy asks which out of the 2 sub $200 headphones
Klaus: $450 headphones
no they're brand new
oh
oh okay then i cant read
Shit right nvm
most people I know don't, on the other hand there are a lot of people that do
my main complaint is they are congested and hazy sounding
I like a large and well layered soundstage
doesn't have that so I dislike it
idk man I personally don't see the good in it so I can't say anything, buy them if you want but in your shoes I'd buy an edition xs for 300-400€ from hifiman's b stock
no problem
wired
usb?
do you have powered headphones perchance
pc
My blackshark v2's extension broke so its microfone doesn't work... it also has its cables cut (i can see the wires inside) And I have no idea what to get. I could use some help.
I don't have any suggestions, bcuz i dont know my way around, but for someone who does, you need a budget and what general idea you want (bt, wired, in ears, over ears, so on.)
OH now i know why the yeti gx sounds so bad
Unlike the yeti which had it being a condenser to slightly up the quality, the yeti gx is a dynamic so that makes the audio quality worse
...no
dynamics just require better technique, but as a result generally is better at noise rejection
so if you don't know how to use a mic properly, dynamics will sound worse than equivalent condenser which essentially have a preamp built into the capsule
I have 150 dollar budget, I might wanna have a wireless headset because all of the tangling but I watched some videos that said wireless has worse sound quality
Im undecidefull on the hyperX cloud 2's and the razer barracuda x
anyone love their open back headphones till someone starts vacuuming
Never touch razers headsets
if u want higher quality, go with the he400se, or if its cheaper where u are, the 560s. If you need BT, then do the JBL tune 710bt (according to dms https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfbLjSWSSog&pp=ygUSZG1zIGpibCB0dW5lIDcxMGJ0)
However, I am new to the hobby, and only have the 400se. If you want another opinion, contact nills, klaus, and someone else i dont remember the name
New channel merch!👕dmstech.store
I also post reviews and audio related content EVERY week over on the headphone show!
https://youtube.com/c/TheHEADPHONEShow
In this video i review a set of $79 headphones with surprisingly good sound quality. The JBL Tune 710 BT.
🟡Need a VPN? I've been using private internet access for years and highly recommend...
I can vow for the hd560s
also be sure to check the 2nd hand market.
Just picked up second hand HE-400i's
Could also look at the hd599, bit older than the 560, i hear they are almost as good but can be found cheaper
Are you able to add IKEA's symfonisk speakers to a normal Sonos arc surround sound system?
sounds like a good question for google
they're not similar at all 599 has a ton of midbass bloat and recessed mids.
I never said they were similar, just almost as good
well they're not almost as good either.
They are significantly cheaper so one would assume they wont be as nice sounding
how much are you finding the 599s for
cuz im seeing around $120
and there's still better options than the 599 at that price
599 se is like 103 on amazon
Same model just black
And im sure there are better options, i simply recommend a cheaper alternative to the 560
i just dont see a reason to recommend it when there's the akg k371, 361, and even the 612 that would be better recommendations
Also the hd560s are on a big sale for $169 rn
like, there's hundreds of cheaper alternatives. but cheaper on its own doesn't necessitate good. and if your budget is $120 then its not like you have slim pickings for options either.
and for the record, "good" is always considering price. a good headphone means that there aren't better options at the same price or less.
I dont disagree, but you could have just posted your recommendations before you jump to criticizing the one option I recommended
And quite frankly, if the 599 was good, I would expect Klaus to recommend them in the $100 price bracket and not the cloud 2s
he400se has inverted polarity, mediocre build quality, and questionable earpad fabric, but it's probably the best headphone at $100 if you EQ it
Got my UP4 in today
sadly that's not the case with audio though
there is minimal correlation between price and sound quality
I suppose it would be a common mistake to assume that
@warm scarab the digital input cable on the ZEN dac looks pretty small u reckon i should get another one?
Cuz I'll be keeping the dac on the other side of my desk
no?
I mean if you need it then sure
but I wouldn't know that
5 kilometers
it was a weird question but like i dont trust myself with a lot of things
sorry boys lol
So I had a pair of Airpod Gen 2s that ended up having extremely low battery life by the end of their use, and I got a pair of Airpod Pros gen 2 as an upgrade but im scared of battery degradation, will putting them in the case once they reach 50% help keep the battery life stable
id say so
like for me i personally dont charge any of my devices above 85%
id say 80% but im taking into consideration the times i forget to take it off when it reaches 80% which is why i said 85%
i personally wouldnt let anything charge to 100%
@warm scarab i know u already recommended me a pair of headphones but what do u think of the Sennheiser HD58x Jubilee?
got it
ill just stick to the pair u recommended me then
btw do u think 400 euros for the zen can and the zen dac is too much?
i dont see lower prices anywhere on the uk size of amazon
had a look at the Amazon Germany as well and they have similar pricing
i wouldnt spend 400 on a source chain for 200 dollar headphones
you could get something nicer like hifiman edition xs and use a dongle until you can get an amp later
are you buying the full zen dac
or the zen dac air
also michael is right
400€ source chain for driving 300€ headphones is very silly
how much would u spend?
like 100€
unless its edition xs
which needs more current since lower impedance and sensitivity
but unless its something like a planar or a higher end dynamic id stick to zen air for a fair bit
i would spend as much as you can on the headphones first and worry about source later, it barely matters
okay so ive decided to get the HD600 (since im getting a brand new pair for 280 euros) should i still stick with the zen stack or is there something else?
are you getting the full zen dac
no just the air
how does that total in 400€ wtf
zen dac air +zen can
it is pretty high so
¯_(ツ)_/¯
im a bloody immigrant dont ask me lmfao
shouldnt have moved thats all im saying
you can just stick to zen can and apple dongle for the dac
if you really want to get a nice amp
or just stick to zen air
I really couldn't justify that price for hd600
might just get a combo budget unit then
or like u said
stick to the zen can and apple dongle
apple dongle unironically good dac
measures beyond human audibility
@warm scarab doesnt it have half voltage output for the euro version though
or does that only happen when plugged into an android phone
no
zen can is a good class a amplifier
you wont find better at that price no matter how many reddit posts you read
you can find better second hand maybe
if I'm being honest I wouldn't worry too much about battery degradation with TWS
unless you're willing to sacrifice on short-term convenience
the realistic lifespan for a good TWS is 2-4 years
TWS?
true wireless
ah
I mean even if they degrade in 2-4 yrs I still got a really good deal with them as I was able to get them new for 150
battery degradation will be one of the hard caps on the lifespan either way
but there may be other issues that develop later on that you can't do anything about
in that sense, it's a disposable product
yeah that price is fine
hopefully its nothing too bad
I'd say to just use it and not worry about it
when it becomes a problem, deal with it then
Just don't go for Sony TWS anymore
alright thanks for the advice
their battery for some reason has gone to shit
How bad is it?
as in left side dies much faster than the right side for some reason
check reddit
r/sonyheadphones
literally just spammed with posts of their earbuds dying in one ear much faster than the other
oof
I guess you could go for the ones with the cable connecting the two earbuds
they should have larger battery too, and I guess harder to lose
im not too worried abt losing them\
plus cables get in the way
reason why i didnt use my wired earbuds even though they are the best in price/performance
never letting anyone say the words "presonus eris 3.5" in this chat unharrassed again
presonus eris 3.5
eris 4.5
Btw, i currently love the pr2 a lot for the price, not using the blessing 3 as often, constantly switching...
Idk what planar does, but i love it, even when everything from freq response to Details and whatnot is worse than on my blessing 3 lol
Pretty curious to know how actual good planars are like.
Also they Look quite cool
where can i download lossless music
without having to download the entire album
trying to find a flac for this
Actual Download is iikc always illegal.
There btw mostly torrents.
You can stream close to lossless with tidal f. E.
Only other legal Option i know would be to buy the Album which often is just a CD, and often enough flac :p (coz this is where most rips come from)
hello my windows is telling me that i have no speakers or headphones plugged in when i clearly do please help
hello please help
hello please help, i am klaus
audio driver missing.
find out which mobo you have, download the audio driver from their website.
or if you are really good, find out which chip and install the driver for that one directly.
the mother board is a weird one
doesnt matter.
Gave you the way, cannot help further.
its a h61
yes go get the driver
Is this an audio cable? Its for my dads racing pigeon clock. One side pkugs into the clock the other into a special printer thing. Only thing is they no longer selll the printer. So i need to try find a cable that has 1 side this and the other usb so i can plug it into a computer then write a probgram to decode the signal into text and put it jnto a pdf or aomerhing so it can be printed
hello my windows is telling me that i have no speakers or headphones plugged in when i clearly do please help
will this fix the problem
@prime pebble get an apple usb c to 3.5 adapter instead
the one in the image will also fix your problem but its trash so don't get it
💀
are you going to post every sub 7€ item on aliexpress until I say yes
installing a driver fixes the problem...
lol
Just block Klaus and keep asking about the first one untill someone tells you its good
thats free
this but unironically
i did instal the driver but its still not working
then you didnt.
i dit
you are bold to assume installing drivers can fix audio issues in windows
i went online and found asus h61 realtek driver then i instaled it and restarter my pc like it told me to and it still dident fix the problem
You have been told the solution already
just h61
isnt a thing tho
i bout it of aliexpress
then find out what chip is on there.
intel chip
no audio.
just find out what audio chip is on there.
aliexpress motherboard lmao
Lmao thats where the problem lies
You could make a more reliable mobo from parts outta a dumpster
some ali boards have decent vrms and nice features that equivalently or even higher priced mainstream boards dont have but that one looks wack
Yea they have really cool neice ones, like f. E. Desktop Boards with mobile Chips and Such - but if you get a Bad one - it gets annoying.
But to be fair, the issue with the missing Audio driver is not exclusive to cheap Boards. The issue is just that they dont give you drivers, and its hard to find out what Hardware is actually on there.
I need headphones and a mic for my pc setup, I just realised, I want them to be the best pair u can get for like £200 (if they don’t connect REALLY reliably, I don’t want them, had connection issues with my AirPods Max for the past 2 years, slowly dying from it)
see if the PC37X or PC37X are available in the UK
What company r they from
sennheiser x drop
A SENNHEISER STANDOUT, REVAMPED: Based on Sennheiser’s top-tier gaming headsets, our Sennheiser PC37X features the same exceptional audio and microphone quality, with some key tweaks to make it even better—and it’s only available here on Drop. Made with drivers that are positioned at an angle, wh...
I got it
Launched in 2020, the Drop + EPOS PC38X is the definition of an instant icon. This headset was forged in the fire of a legendary collaboration with Drop: one of the largest communities of audio and tech enthusiasts worldwide. This headset has a ton of features, such as exchangeable earpads, open ...
pc38x is the better version, so im surprised that it shows as being cheaper than the pc37x in the UK for me (it has deeper bass extension and smoother treble)
i havent listened to any tests but i wouldnt be surprised if the mic is better too
Best wired headset (with mic) for less than 50 or 40 for a friend in ps5?
Hey guys, I'm looking at setting up a Sonos surround system in my room, since I've already got 2 symfonisk speakers, does since the Sonos arc only has 1 HDMI input for audio, is there a way to have say, a tv and a turntable plugged in? Like do switchers exist so I can either play my vinyls or watch tv
wait airpods max to what device?
iPad
oh
Thats fucking bullshit
Works about 20% of the time
I just checked and no
And fuck they’re disconnected again now
damn
I feel like something is faulty
and you legit could've taken it in for warranty/exchange
As much as I don't like Apple's anti right to repair
they're really good with upholding their warranty if you have applecare or the device is still in warranty
yes
At least once

wash yo nasty ass ears god damnit
and no i would not recommend it, just because a product is water resistant doesn't mean you should be testing its capabilities on the regular, especially considering they're only IP54, i wouldn't trust them to stand up to repeated shots from a showerhead
Even if they had a better water resistance rating, It all goes out the window when you throw hot water and steam at seals
quick question, anyone know if the HyperX QuadCast Microphone quality is good compared to blue yeti ?
i want a good quality mic idk if that one is good tbh and most of the yt tests i see are with noise gates etc..
yeah seals live in cold waters
Exactly
my speaker is configured to default it doe's not outputs any sound but when i switch to my headphones it works but in the game or in the sound mixer i did not change to the headphones
soo if i were to get an amp, what the hell am i supposed to look for ? i use an dt880 that has like 250 ohm ?
Well what do you want from the amp and how much do you want to pay?
i want better sound, but for cheap (i know both of those dont go well together)
define cheap
Okay. There's a handful of cheap dongles that'll do the trick for you
Cx31993 dongles, apple dongle,
1k is cheap if you are a billionaire
Abigail,
Moondrop has some cheap ones too but I don't see anyone recommending those over the Abigail.
I don't know the abigail
She only talks to hot people
I can set myself on fire
Best suggestion since grey showering with his airpods
under 100 euro
You want to look for a dongle that uses the cx31993 chip in it. You might be running into the volume limit with the 250 ohm beyers, but later one when you have more cash you can get a real amp and use the dongle as a DAC.
a dongle ? like this ?
will it acc improve the sound quality
or do i need to pay more
just don't get one
how much would i need to pay then
for something that improve the sound
get better headphones instead
Is there an adspter to turn a 3.5mm audio jack into HDMI without ruining the quality or not?
nah, i like the dt 880 a lot
they pretty good
to me
headphones are the most apparent upgrade you can get and amplifier differences are generally marginal per 200$ you spend
despite this you want to stick to dt880 and instead purchase an amplifier
it isn't like amplifiers make your headphones a lot better with a few exceptions all which are planars and higher end dynamics
to spend 100$ to improve a 150$ amplifier is not a smart deed to do
not to mention you cannot get anything notably good for that much anyways, it will be marginally better than a well functioning motherboard in a critical listening session at best
Yes. It's an improvement over desktop audio.
But it's still $20.
Amp is to drive the headphones not color it
Haha E10k bass boost switch go brrrrr
I disagree
Not talking about tubes
I still disagree
there is a good reason everyone who has tried their products and others passionately hates topping
yet despite this their products are incredibly well measuring
Then what are you talking about? 🧐
@lean grove do you follow iem news
news about them i mean
truthear is dropping a moondrop variations dupe for $150 later this month
might finally be an iem in the midrange budget that can be recommended
I don't follow iem news because every few months there's a new giant killer
The moondrop variations dupe is gonna get dethroned by the end of the year.
yeah true you could go on vacation for a week and when you got back there’d be 5 new iems
Boring.
just buy variations and don’t look at iems ever again tbh
Just buy qudelix and DSP your $20 earbuds
you can’t dsp the smooth upper treble extension
Because you can't measure it reliably.
variations is pretty much the only iem that i know of that does upper treble properly
¯_(ツ)_/¯
how do you know
but you can't measure upper treble reliably
there are numerous people in ahs that are graph wankers that have variations and like it
yeah you have to have a trained listener do a sine sweep and listen for any peaks or dips
Graph wankers. There's already a term for that. Measurebators.
someone that can hear to 20khz and is proven to be able to identify peaks and dips
Or would it be measurebaters
i think it would be measurebator
Regardless. Trained listeners doing some sweeps is just a shittier form of measurements.
Shartur would he proud
Makes me think of some dude strapped down to a chair getting fed through a tube getting a snack every time he gets a dip right while people in lab coats jot down notes.
wait isn't that how you normally live
Like the whole point of a rig is for consistent results. Having someone else be a dummy head trying to do objective measurements is like, mildly better than a boomer sitting down with a Santana album he's listened to a thousand times.
It's a false idol mimicking objectivity.
No it's just poorons trying to think they're getting good audio measurements. I can't afford a $60k measurement rig so actually I'm gonna do some mental gymnastics to seem like I'm getting similar results
Spoken like a true untrained harman listener

Any recommendations for gaming headsets? Preferably under $50 cdn
@unique wind doxxed
An IEM that has smooth upper treble on a particular rig has an almost nonexistent chance of having a smooth extension in your ear
The reason measuring above 7-10khz or so is so iffy is because the shape of your ear changes the response there so drastically.
You'd have to have an ear that was EXACTLY the same as the rig upon which it was measured
The only way to get a smooth response in your ear would be to find an IEM that perfectly matches your own HRTF in that region and position it perfectly every single time.
For which the chances are near 0
best wireless headphones for phone avaible in eu?
i was thinking about realme buds air3s
and price should be same
is the MTrack Solo a good pairing for the sE v7
yah but all you can really do is pick the one that measures the best on an "average ear" simulator and go from there
what are your personal thoughts on Variations? im pretty tempted to buy it so i can stop thinking about IEMs
i dont think im willing to pay more than around $500 for in ears, and variations has the bass shelf & ear gain that i prefer
i own qkz x hbb khan and truthear reds right now and variations seem like a perfected version of those two
tell me you worship sharur without telling me
macbook air headphone output is completely transparent
it's quite a lot better than i thought it was before reading its specs tbh
it has way more power output than the apple dongle
i was debating buying an apple dong for my macbook but the amp in the macbook poops on it

Have him buy you the variations
And resell it a month later when sharur finds a new endgame iem

ive had the same opinions on audio for a while, before i watched his videos or joined his server
and he hates both my main iems and my main headphones
i think he peaked when he argued room treatment was cope
Surely it was a bit
i mean
is it not a cope
it works but it's a bandaid and it's not necessary for just listening to stuff for enjoyment
personally i like hearing the sound fill and bounce off the room and rattle the walls
generally your room is more important than your speakers themselves
speakers can be fixed with eq
your room can't
the point of room treatment isn't removing those
it's basically just analog room correction eq
you get rid of those and you have made your speakers into headphones
in most cases it's probably not necessary
it isn't
at all
grey literally returned his speakers because he couldn't get them to sound good in his room no matter the room eq
keep in mind this is grey he's literally never happy
the person in question being grey makes it half invalid but its a common pattern

he needs a hand built $5000 r2r dac made by a schizophrenic guy in germany and a $3000 pure tube amp for his $160 headphones
you cant forget the $10,000 power conditioner and usb cleaner
if there's a bird on the power line outside his house that might disrupt his experience
usb cleaners are actually legit
schiit wyrd approves this message
some resonances can be fixed yes
Some speakers have resonances and dispersions which can't be fixed with EQ either.
or do you want me to use harmantrained™️ terms and call it room characteristics
funny thing is the schiit wyrd does literally nothing for schiit's own dac designs
Wym
it does quite literally nothing

it is a very cool looking headphone aesthetically
no way
if josh is saying it's bad then it must be really bad
it is cool looking tho hopefully they get it right in a few more generations

I have a Hisense u8h and I’m looking to upgrade the built in speakers at some point. Does anyone have any recommendations? Should I go with a soundbar or a set of speakers and a subwoofer? I’d only want to spend a few hundred dollars at most
soundbars don't really get good until youre spending around a thousand dollars, you'll be better off with a pair of powered speakers and a sub if you have the space
I have some space, so I could fit them. I just don’t know anything about them and have no idea what brands are good or what specs/features
if you are far away that white noise isn't an issue klipsch pro media could do it for you
ask @lean grove
Edifier is a generally good brand.
But the Klipsch promedia are also a good option.
I actually already have a klipsch pro media believe it or not. But it was for my old tv. It plugs in through the headphone Jack since I think it’s a computer speaker and I didn’t really sound better. Plus it kept blowing the fuse it was connected to. Is there another version that plugs in through hdmi?
i need to learn how to read speaker measurements better
blowing the fuse or flipping the breakers?
I guess flipping the breaker. If that means the power cut and I had to flip the switch back to the on position
There was also a weird crackling that would happen whenever I plugged/unplugged it. I think it was building up a charge or something
Weird.
But HDMI passthrough is only on expensive speakers.
And still rare
So if that's what you need you'd probably be better off with a sound bar.
But if you can use optical then try and find an edifier which accepts optical.
I just checked and my tv does have a digital optical out port on the back
Should I try to get a subwoofer with it? Or would 2 bookshelf speakers be fine?
There’s also one that’s just 1 speaker and a subwoofer? Wouldn’t that throw off the balance? I’m not and audio expert (clearly) but I thought you needed one speaker on each side
Subwoofers aren't cheap and they aren't as important as the speakers themselves. So in your budget if you got a sub, you'd be eating away at probably 70-80% of your budget for something responsible for like 5-10% of the sound.
So I would get the speakers now and then a sub in the future if you want to upgrade.
it's too bad that the emotiva b1+ is kinda defunct now and there are none for sale on ebay
im considering getting a black dragon cable for my focal bathys should i?
why
Oh that’s cool i didn’t realize you could add that on later. Thanks for the advice everyone
yeah its a great way of throwing your money into trash
i cant recommend it enough
If i remember correctly, you said go cheap on cables
Many "studio" subs (or decent+ subs in general) have a crossover and volume which basically takes the audio signal that normally goes straight to the speakers and splits it
then they have a passthrough so it can connect to the speakers
and they can place a lowpass filter on the signal for its own use
If your receiver/amp supports it, the sub doesn't need it
namely the emotiva se8/se12 subs on the affordable side have that feature but i don’t know if they’ll ever be restocked
but it has to go between the source and the amp
Most subs nowadays that's not from logitech has it I think
I'll reword it: Most subs that are made for studio use rather than "home"*
Which means basically all ur generic passive subs don't
the powered subs that came in a home theatre kit don't
etc.
rly?
Hell even Mackies have em
not saying their subs are good
they aren't
but
they do have a basic crossover
most powered subs only have a subwoofer "crossover" (lowpass knob), and dont highpass the speakers
yea
but I assume that at these "lower" prices
you set the lowpass to match with the rolloff of the main speakers
and even if it's off by a bit it's fine because the room is gonna mess with the sound just as much
so it's ok in non critical applications
certified dt880 moment
using he1000v2 stealth
ok lemme try dt880
guys I am gonna be honest
the difference is very minor
Yeah you just want to make sure that the speakers have a subwoofer out. Otherwise it can get kinda cable messy. A lot of the edifiers have a sub out.
im reporting this to staff for promoting self harm
I broke it
ffs
the holes the pins of the tube go in are fucked
the contact points are in a soft plastic
and stuff got bend

lmao
oh ffs you need those star shaped screw drivers to open the back
this is the same housing as the violectric amps
I swear its secretly all chineese rebranded
you don't have one?
I have an entire set
yeah most of that stuff is
fosi/fx-audio/aiyima/douk
okay I stripped the screw thing
they all use very similar slightly modified shit
you are cursed to never have a good time with audio gear
wait pog now inbus fits
you must always struggle
wait I swapped the in and output of the preamp
was wondering why it wasn't producing sound for 20 minutes
Help at tech support
some sort of ancient sound witchcraft
w00d
dont tell the zmf cult
they're also heavy, but that might just because I'm used to my own headphones which weigh nothing
yeah legit, I don't really understand the hype around them. They sound great don't get me wrong, but the comfort is just not that great
I think the timeout for my mp3 player being in usb transfer mode is the screen timeout value...lol
I like how it shows lossless, but the track it choses is a 128kbps aac
@warm scarab @lean grove @unique wind the tubes are shit 💀
joshua valour lied
🤯
it says 126... which makes me wonder, is it a VBR?
and does it display the bitrate of the song at that point
rather than just average of the song
probably. kids these days love VBR
Well VBR is genuinely good
the specs say it supports up tp 11.2MHz DSD...i guess i'll just have to find out if that true.
tiny file sizes for quality better than lame mp3
Though, it's not like i have the equipment or the hearing to know
oh for sure, i love AAC over MP3
hey I have a 1more sonoflow and was wondering if I could use a 120w charger with it? or it isn't recommended ?
is the mtrack solo a good pairing for the sE v7
should be fine as long as they're both USB type C
Shocker
Should probably put this in tech support but I hate the forum format so I’m trying to get Dolby atmos from my x85k Sony tv using the wla-ns7 and I’m trying to connect it to it which I can but it disconnects whenever I open Netflix and only Netflix
have you tried turning it off and on again
I know you’re joking but yes I have
thats unfortunately the extent of my tech support abilities
you might have better luck contacting sony tech support
yea it's solid
if you can spend 50 bucks more
I would recommend arturia minifuse 1
but otherwise it's good
Not really because of how drastic the changes are from person to person.
They're very good for the money
Room correction and Room treatment solve different issues.
Room correction targets frequency response issues caused by room modes/comb filtering etc etc.
Room treatment whilst it can help with room modes is primarily targeting reflections and decay.
DSP cannot solve reflections/decay other than at lower frequencies and with some unorthodox tools.
And room treatment cannot solve FR issues in the same way DSP can
A top tier system would utilise both, but the idea that they are substitutes for one another or that you don't need room treatment if you use room correction is a myth

i’ll continue to fantasize over them but not buy them for several more weeks until i cave because im frugal
yeah truthfully i don’t know very much about room treatment, it seems like DSP is more important, but ideally you’d have both like you said
so i have finally got some slightly better headphones with a mic but it doesent seem to be picking up anywhere or even working for that matter so anyone got any ideas on why this is?
JBL live 660nc or SoundCore Q30? Or Q45?
fixed it the microphone wasnt plugged all the way in 😅
win
could anyone help me with routing my mic audio from my yamaha zg01 mixer to a second pc?
just got a turntable
just set it up
and it sound like shit 😭😭😭
idk why
why does it sound so distorted
Sounds like it's clipping.
Turn down the volume
highest fidelity vinyl record
i fixed it it was plugged into the phono input but i just needed to plug it into an auxiliary input
@left cypress do you have a phono preamp?
i got this thing
which takes the signal from the turntable and like amplifies it so it can be sent across the long distance of the cable that goes to the actual amp
this is a phono preamp but i’m pretty sure you can also use it as a headphone amp
so yeah
a phonopreamp and headphone preamp is completely different
are you certain that is a phono preamp
yeah that’s what it says
try plugging your turntable directly
I think you added a phono pre to a turntable with already existing phono pre
the reason we have the phono pre is because the signal coming out of the turntable isn’t strong enough to get all the way down the cable
cause the turntable sits in the lounge with the speakers where as the amp sits in the server rack in the storage closet
so the cables long as
without the phono pre the signals too weak
does it sound fucked up though?
I suspect you are double phono preamping your system
in which case you are missing a regular amplifier and not a phono one
.
either plug it directly into phono
or plug it into the preamp then into the aux in
oh yeah earlier on i did
but i realised earlier
best wireless gaming headset under $100?
My headset suddenly started acting strange. It works fine after I start the pc but after a while it stops working (both mic and speaker) and starts working again after i disable and enable again from this sound panel (or manually remove and replug it). It's getting annoying to have the sound cut off in the middle of listening to something or someone. Is there a way to fix this? I don't think the headset is at fault here.
USD? Also, by "wireless" do you mean bluetooth? Or with a USB dongle?
On that note: I just came in here to ask if anyone had a recommendation for a set of Bluetooth headphones to look out for on Prime Day coming up on Amazon Canada? Looking for a high quality set that is likely to be the target for a note worthy discount.
Here's my criteria:
Budget: $120 CAD
Type: Over-ear
Connectivity: Bluetooth or Bluetooth + Wired (ideally the latter)
jbl tune 710bt
I've seen and looked at those. They look like a model worth considering. I'll see how much they'll get discounted on Prime Day. Thanks.
USB dongle like 2.4 ghz
cloud ii wireless
What about that or the Logitech g535?
cloud ii is the least ass headset you can get at under 100 usd
FWIW, I use the SteelSeries Arctis 1.
It uses a USB-C dongle, but comes with a Type-A adapter cable (which you will need to use if using the headset on PC).
Razer Barracuda X is another option to consider.
Cloud ll is a solid choice though.
I think over my lifetime of buying portable players, the one feature that really matters is the ability to make playlists on the fly
So I’m not sure if anyone can answer a question for me or not… I have my phone set to listen for “Siri” or “hey siri” but recently my HomePod mini had an update and its doing the same thing but when I changed it to only listen for “hey siri” it didn’t seem to change and and still listens for “Siri”
can someone please help with this if possible
hi guys my new headset isnt showing in this sounds tab i dont know why its a 3.5mm.
I was using headphones which only have 2 rings on the metal cylinder and it was working perfectly.
Does any1 know how i could fix this?
the fact that I read that perfectly
pretty sure it is the same thing
That's what it says in edifiers website too
strange, then the non-bluetooth is better
Klaus, what would u do to have 2 audio/mic in 1 pc? i have headset and want to have IEMs/lapel micro, but without changing cables soo often
rather just change the interface on windows
Can someone help
Have you tried using the headset with your phone or something else? Also what kind of headset do you have?
it's a big usb
its the gamdias hebe m2
What an unfortunate name for a headphone
:(
Try reinstalling the audio driver. Here’s the link from their website: https://www.gamdias.com/en/downloads
alright
If that doesn’t work then reinstall the USB drivers and try these other things here: https://www.minitool.com/data-recovery/usb-keeps-disconnecting.html
do i uninstall this first/
alright
Yes
ok
this is not supposed to be here after i restart right?
i uninstalled but it's still here
wth
now it's showing this thing
Don’t worry about that. But so when you tried to download the drivers you got that Wizard message?
yep
it just stays stuck like this when it stops
and i can't hear anything until i disable and reenable again
Hmm well let’s forget the driver thing and just assume that’s okay for now. Try the USB fixes that I posted then
fifine
