All good! I meant headphones anyway for some reason I typed headset even though I have a standalone mic
$3600 btw lmao
(empire ears raven)
for only $3600 you can get fucked up mids and a bass shelf starting at 300hz!
these summitfi iems literally exist solely to scam rich people but hey it's funny
man you can get danclark stealths for basically the same price
Lmao shit
F in chat for Michael. Too poor to afford $3600 headphones
Doesn't know that frequency response can't tell you anything about how a headphone sounds
he thinks frequencies are real
Instead has to stare at a single inaccurate sketti noodle to experience hifi
im gonna become that guy who eats ketchup to afford $5000 cables
and then destroy them afterwards
hes a very interesting and based guy
he is schizophrenic michael
yeah but its very entertaining
fair
fuck you ill buy stealth rn
if i actually liked headphones i wouldnt have a problem with it
i should look at their other stuff i never have
okay expanse is also cool
Arya Organic arrived at the local dealer
Hopefully not sound out before Friday when I have time to demo
Its cheaper than stealth
new yeah i grabbed the $400 from comparing it to an openbox or refurb stealth from hifiman's site
lunchbreak over :(
:<
i wont be surprised if u still prefer XS since you dont like suspension straps anyway but im keen to hear what you have to say after the demo
just get anandas then
I've been using the SHP9500 too for like 10 years now (don't remember when I bought them) and their sound is just perfect and they are comfy af
But sadly the cable or the jack took a hit which is why I was looking for a new pair, probably could just replace the cable (hoping) and I replaced the pads last month since the original ones reached their end
They made me appreciate open headphones
Just keep in mind that anything can sound good if you haven't heard better.
I used to stan the shp9500 but its on par and even kinda gets beat by something like the ksc75 in terms of audio quality.
Well that also depends on what kind of music you listen to
Kinda yeah kinda no. Objectively good headphones will be good for every genre. There's cases where the mastering isn't good and that's no fault of the headphones.
If a headphone is good for one thing, and all you need is that one thing then that's fine. But I'd hesitate to recommend it to anyone because why settle for less.
The shp9500 is good enough for gaming because gaming isn't a high bar. It's cheap, it's comfy, it's open.
But that's really all I can compliment it on.
unless your songs aren't particularly badly mastered, not really
It's gonna be hard for me to ever go away from SHPs just from a comfort with glasses perspective. Maybe there's something out there as comfy with better sound
I will say I have replaced my cable lile 5x in 3 years lol
But I have a USB switch on my DAC so its listening, gaming, and work, so sees a lot of use
The dt880 is pretty resilient to glasses and has good comfort
i want a FAT and decently long 2pin iem cable for no reason other than aesthetics
an obnoxiously thick one
@past gate would make you one I'm sure

i did not thankfully
So for my new living room. I want to setup a nice convenient sound system. My options are as such:
• Sonos Arc + Sub Gen 3 + 2 Sonos SL One
• Sony HT-A7000 + 200W Sony Subwoofer + 2 SA-RS3
• Samsung Q990C + Subwoofer + Rear Speakers
Not sure which sound good, which are better value for money and which I should get.
anyone got any recommendations on gear to send an unbalanced stereo TRS signal over a long distance with converting to balanced then back into a TRS connection, for getting audio from a mixer to a headset at significant distance? Downmixing to mono is acceptable, preferred even. Need to get an output from an analog mixers quarter inch socket over a substantial distance to a commentators headset.
ask in sonic visions discord instead
people here are generally more about headphones than speakers
could u send me a link? thanks
Wonderful
Anyone have any $50 or under IEM/earbud recommendations, where the weird bit is specifically not having a detachable cable?
the chu 1?
moondrop chu 1
Oh neat
what's a good pair of wireless headphones that are under $150?
aren't they gonna kill em for asking about a soundbar?
My HD 8xx is comfy af
wait soundbar?
All that he said are soundbars
💀
They gonna kill him
survival of the fittest
I don't know how other people test their speakers/headphones, but I typically use the THX Deep Note Genesis trailer to test mine. How do you guys go about it?
A song I know like the back of my hand
Nice, what song?
Ima be so sad if I arrive at the dealership friday and the arya organic is sold out
Pink Floyd’s The Trial, Daft Punk’s Something About Us, Magdalena Bay’s The Beginning, and if I really hate myself Taylor Swift’s All Too Well (10 minute)
My partner will usually listen to some version of Tchaikovsky and Shostakovich
What matters is you listen to something you know very, very well. A new song is gonna sound like a new song regardless
@molten lotus i was using reds with the adapter and the foam eartips last night and i couldn’t get over how thick and addicting they sounded
quick question, does anyone know of a program for ading "high cut" to certain speakers?
That looks in some ways so similar to the SHPs... bet SHP ripped off Sennheiser
No idea but there's only so many ways you can design a headphone
rip 8xx and its messed up sound
8xx must’ve been co developed by hifiman
with that absolute crater in the ear gain
someone needs to copy the acoustic material tuning that dan clark uses and make something similar to the expanse but at like $1600 instead of $4000
a company that could afford to make less profit margin than dan
not audeze?
nah
audeze makes flat line headphones
8xx at least has upper treble, it just has an ear gain crater
Soundstage
Every single person who's tried my 8xx has agreed, they don't sound very good stock lol
I've been thinking of doing the sticker mod but I'm also lazy
the negative ear gain causes the vocal to fall into the background of the mix giving the illusion of soundstage but in my opinion it sounds unnatural
and kind of annoying tbh
a slight recess like found on sundara and qkz x hbb khan is okay but i still prefer full harman ear gain
i would take 600 or 6xx over any 800 series any day if i wasn’t allowed to use eq
I still prefer HE6
I would get a used hd800 for orchestral, but at full price?
arya over 800 any day
used 800 can be found for 550-650 here at times
are aryas similarly priced?
I mean, both are in the mid 1000s here at full price
in the us on the hifiman store you can get v2s for $700 and v3 stealths for $800 open box or refurb
used HD800 is pretty insane.. seen some for 450
i imagine actually used would be a little less but i haven’t looked
Otoh the 8xx responds really well to eq
I should try some newer headphones, try to find something around 800-1600 that I can like as much as like he6
My 6xx, no matter the eq, just sounds like the 6xx
don't all 800s respond well?
Yeah
So makes this kinda moot
6x0 (excluding 660s) for piano/acoustic guitar is nice
Haven't tried 660s, but guitars sound super smooth on the 6xx
Why would the 660s be any different? Thought it just had better imaging
660s is just a tin can
if i made like $45k/y instead of $28k/year i would probably buy expanse
What does that mean
uses HD700 driver, which was insanely metallic
hated it
sounded to much like I was listening to some metal drums
660s has fucked up treble idk what happened with it
Interesting
downgrade all around from 600 and 6xx/650 from what i can see
660s usually isn't even considered 6x0 anyway..
i don’t see why anyone would buy it
Lol
Are any 6x0 worth buying if the 6xx exists? Everything else seems like a bad deal
as it is you pay almost double to go from 6xx to 600 and all you get is slightly better upper treble
yes, because of import
like yeah 600 is better but it’s literally just the slightly better upper treble extension
Oh yeah I forgot there are non American consumers
lel
for almost twice as much
american forgets america isn't the only place on earth #5985093757930
Hello,
can I get some recommendations on IEMs ideally sub-200$? The lower the better.
As I transitioned to TWS ANC earbuds, I only kept up with my KZ ZS10 Pro and they are treble-paradise.
Primarly competitive gaming (CSGO) and second is music.
If possible some eye-candy... Like Moondrop KATO, Moondrop KXXS, Tin Audio T series... I like transparent ones, too, but they are budget most of the time and don't look that appealing in real life.
Thanks
That's a con, not a pro. I hate it
yeah KZ can't tune an IEM for shit
Hmm
Truthear zero blue I guess?
I had to install EqAPO so AK-47 in CSGO wouldn't make me deaf
Hyped up quite a bit by gaming peripherals reviewers
That's 55$, way below my budget. I don't mind saving some money... But I have to look if it's any upgrade above the ZS10 Pro
almost everything truthear makes will slap anything KZ makes
I would say that it's an upgrade on anything kz
Im using a moondrop aria myself, it's pretty fine for competitive gaming.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLe5kg74M7JA89aON_iM2ezsylxPNEE9tG&si=KzEo9eihUyfcHh3l
This guy did a lot of iem reviews that specifically talk about gaming aspect, might be useful for you?
I like the playlist name 😄
Although the way he describe subjective things is not really clear imo
Moondrop does make good looking IEMs... From outside and inside.
I just remember getting slapped for trying to buy KXXS. I just wanted them for the looks and was told they suck
Prob in context of the starfield and then aria
Which is basically the kxxx/kxxs but cheaper
Like they are good iems
I don't want earbuds "made for gaming". I might fall in love with them and ditch my TWS Sony...
The price is ehhh because of the refinement options being cheaper
because of the refinement options being cheaper
Sorry, I don't understand.
And do Tin Audio or FiiO make good IEMs in general?
That's more than most people do in a year in my country...
Basically the starfield and the aria made the kxxs a bad value product. They do what the kxxs did but at a cheaper price
the thing with in ear monitors is that 95% of their performance is determined by tuning and distortion, and price doesn’t correlate to much
Ooooh, wait what?
But I would expect that I am paying for all that R&D and engineering of the housing and the tuning...
you’d hope so but no not really
truthear zero red are some of the best tuned iems on the planet and they’re $55
tangzu zetian wu at $150 are good if you want a tastefully bass and treble boosted iem
i own both and love both but i use my reds as my daily driver
I am stunned
iems are very small and only interact with your inner ear canal so they peak at a much lower price point than headphones do
they’re much easier to make and have much less material cost
you don’t really unlock some magical detail retrieval or technicalities by spending more money
Interesting. I just wanted to ask for ranking/comparison...
the main thing you get when upgrading from $55 reds to $500+ triple driver iems is better upper treble extension because of their electrostatic drivers, but it’s a small improvement for paying 10x+ more money, especially if you’re not a well trained listener
Considering I wanted 200$. I could pickup both and then decide which to keep and which to flip or gift.
...how to make audiophile angry:
"Then why buy headphones
"
hahaha xddd
Okay then, so the eyecandy checkbox I added is gone as this seems to be the most exxpensive thing on the list 😄
My KZ ZS10 Pro have like 6 drivers per bud! Hah!
V A L U E
michael needs to give me a modern equivalent to HE6
Micheal needs to get promoted
I want a HE6 since hearing it, but it is wayyyy too rare and fragile to get one these days
Headphones and speakers still have their market because without the form factor constraints, the soundstage and sound placement is miles ahead the most accurate and widest soundstage iem
more accurate i would disagree, more enjoyable yeah
sealed in ears can’t compete with something that’s open back and covers your whole ear in terms of soundstage presentation
but iems are pretty great for imaging accuracy
can you even find one used
sometimes, for 2-3x original price or in pieces

I get that. It must be better for making your music as people listen with the whole ear and not just the inside of it...
But then I don't get why some musicians master their songs mostly with IEMs.
well produced music is usually mastered on speakers
Humans only listen with 10% of their ear potential
huh... then now I am confused. Anyway, I am not a musician and never will be, so eh xd
iems were originally made for live monitoring audio on stage (as far as i know)
I add 60db of ear gain to compensate for this
hence in ear monitor
Wide Q at 2.3khz
is it a joke? watch out, I am easily influenced by random internet people that seem credible in specific area.
yeah he’s shitposting
You're shitposting
do you actually think i am
is this an audio support channel?
because nothing i’ve told tomini was me shitposting
technically yeah but we mostly just talk about audio gear we like or want
Idk if this is allowed here but question;
i'm looking for some sort of guide that shows how to set up audio configurations for gaming on PC. i feel like i'm not getting what i'm looking for with the current settings and would like to see how others have theirs set up. if you have any recommendations that would be great!
What are your goals?
Cuz with audio settings there's really only so much you can do with windows
Hardware is usually the bottleneck
im quite confused on what to to configure if i feel like game is too loud or party is too loud, do i change in game audio? do i change discord volumes to compensate? do i change volume from my yeti knob?
Sadly the TANGZU Wu Zetian are sold out on Ali and everywhere else where they ship to EU...
They have some TANGZU x HBB Wu Heyday Edition, but that will sound different I bet. Truthear it is then
just seems overwhelming how many volume options i have
that’s entirely up to you
you can adjust users individual volumes on discord or you could adjust ingame volume settings
doesn’t really matter
find me a modern equivalent
would i benefit from getting a mixer then?
nah just use software volume control
windows volume mixer, discord volume settings, individual user volume on discord, and most games let you individually control menu, game, music, and voice chat volumes
ya jus so many options. i hear u though, it's been what i've been doing, just thought to ask and see if there was another solution i haven't tried
what is the benefit of a mixer?
no such thing man
he6 is a weird headphone
find something with a similar design and close enough tuning and then use eq to do the rest
I’m considering ordering custom tips or something because I am constantly struggling with eartip fit
a good neutral bright headphone then
all my favourites are neutral bright, lel
audio space is weird man...
it is and it’s quite annoying
the amount of subjective bullshit and blatant misinformation that’s dished out by unqualified reviewers is the worst part
don’t you own 560s
I did
Hated them
you don’t want neutral headphones then
I gave them to my fiancee’s younger brother
because those are pretty damn close to what we believe is neutral
btw - @unique wind how many IEMs have you gone through? Like an estimate.
I’m mostly shitposting
I daily IE600s for fuck’s sake
kbear ks2, 7hz salnotes zero, qkz x hbb khan, truthear x crinacle zero red, moondrop aria, tangzu zetian wu
you are that guy! 😄
i think that’s all of them
That's quite a lot...
it’s a couple
some people have dozens which is kinda crazy
not common tho
i don’t have my kbear box anymore but here’s the other ones
I feel that at certain point you have to relisten periodically... Just like our nose can distinguish 5-6 smells and then it's practically useless for a while.
i think i threw my kbears in the garbage tbh
Has a bed just for the IEMs
i don’t remember but probably
they’re pretty terrible
mids are scooped out, bass is bloated as fuck, and the treble is boosted and peaks
at that point I wonder why even sell it... If they sound like the best gas station earbuds xd
i need to get diagnosed xd
My friend had puple-blueish transparent and I think they were Kbear. He loved 'em
When are we getting the moondrop SSRI
i got them because a friend of mine loves them and i wanted to hear what he was praising
(they’re horrible)
I went to order the TRUTHEAR x Crinacle ZERO: RED and then went through 6 pages and open all the cool looking xd
But friendship is important. 😄
Once you get Moondrop depression
i got moondrop depression when my right moondrop aria died from static discharge
oh well they were uncomfortable anyway
Avg Aria L
and truthear reds are way better
The blue TRUTHEAR are not like reds, huh? It"s not like only color change
the blues are an older design with harsher treble and higher distortion
huuh? Like stroking sweeater static discharge?
they’re also pretty good in general but not worth buying when red exists
Somebody is selling them for 30 bucks, but I will wait get the reds then
both objective audio reviewers and subjective schizophrenic audio reviewers prefer the reds
Red things go faster so of course they would
yeah like socks on carpet static
Not if you use the correct hifi linear optical cabling
professional shitposter xd
subjective schizophrenic audio reviewers
my new favorite dis
do yall recommend the switch from over ear headphones to IEMs for gaming?
Nah my opinion is iems don't have the comfort for long gaming sessions
what's not to like as far as comfortability? ear pressure?
Idk my ear hurts with iems after a few hours but not with over ear headphones
Mainly with headphones your ears don't have to support any weight
the clamping and overall weight of over ears are my cons for now
a hard question to answer really
for me personally, im strap for cash, i know that there is no good headphone at the price i was shopping at, im already comfortable using iem and earbuds for long period of time, so i chose to buy an iem
HE1 moment
bro are these like $1k+?
I gotta get my hands on a Sennheiser surrounder
Lol yes
8xx is a mess
i too use in ears when not gaming so i feel use to them, might give IEMs a try. Any recommendations?
a scam when used 800 exists for half the price and is better
I think they're great for gaming
truthear zero blue
I mean sure but I like buying new
Subjective moment
or zero red if you want something more enjoyable for music
i guess i should also ask what ear buds you were using before; like i use airpods daily so very use to in ear
Rn I have 5 headphones, hd 6xx, he4xx, hd8xx, dt1990 pro, and meze 99 noir. All purchased new
Bruh….
Prob gonna cop an audeze LCD-X next, gotta find a job first
Competitive? Yes, especially shooters... If you are playing LoL/DOTA or Heartstone, then no xd
a bunch
senny cx213, sony ex155ap(basically e waste iem, the only thing worth noting is that they work)
akg ig955 (competent tuning, thats all)
right now im using the moondrop aria
also jbl tune pro+ tws for travelling
recommendation?
I asked previously. Got recommended Truthear x Crinacle ZERO:RED by @unique wind for their tuning.
i've heard of moon drop arias, was watching optimum tech
zero and zero red is basically the not break your bank but damn good options
They’re very good for the price
If you want more "tasteful" punch in bass and treble and you don't mid paying more then go with TANGZU Wu Zetian.
Not really a reason to buy Arias when the ZERO:REDs exist now
i would prob not recommend buying em in 2023 because the paint is easy to chip off and theres the truthear hexa as well
Really looking forward to compare to my ZS10s, I had Shure AONIC 215-CL, but I don"t remember them as much.
when i bought it in 2021 it was one of the best in its price bracket
the dunu titan s would be another to consider if you want something less bass
imo
That’s the worst part about IEMs, it’s moving fast as hell
we in the forefront
i feel like this thing happen to a lot of tech stuff recently
like the gaming mouse side is currently in that race to the bottom i think
Don't forget to look on used market... @mossy meteor
where to look? fb marketplace? 😂
Sure...
I guess its trash in overseas...
In Czech I use FB Marketplace, Bazoš, Sbazar, Aukro (ebay-like) and sometimes german marketplace Klein-something from eBay eBay Kleinanzeigen.
i'll take a look, ebay probably the best in that aspect then
It just sucks to sell there 😄
zero reds can just eat power
i can push the same amount of power i put into my open back planars and they’re like sure let’s do it
it’s loud but they handle it
...oh yeah, I forgot to ask. I only have on-board audio and EVO 4.
they don’t need a lot of power, they can just play ear damagingly loud if you want to was my point
Oh yeah, I see. 17.5 ohms, damn
I can get the TRUTHEAR from Ali, ShenzenAudio or Amazon...
i ran them off of my motherboard when i was too lazy to plug in my schiit stack and it was fine
what is benefit of having schiit stack or even EVO 4?
it comes with an assortment of eartips and the cable isn’t microphonic so it’s okay
more volume and it’s fun turning knobs mainly
using windows volume control is annoying as heck id rather turn a knob
but for an iem, even the apple dongle is way too much
what do yall use for mics then if ure using IEMs
well, not all iems i think but
cable isn’t microphonic so it’s okay
cable with mic = bad? Or at least the cheap-o ones?
xdddddddddd
microphonic means when you touch the cable it makes noise that you hear in your ear
not that the cable has a mic
i’m tired today man
I had to get EVO 4 for my mic, but I resent it as I got XM8500 and it picks up background too easily or just is too low when I play at night.
like when the cable rubs on your shirt it sends that scratchy sound into your ear loud as heck
the red’s cable doesn’t do that so it’s fine it doesn’t need to be replaced
I saw some 2-pin or the round cable on Ali that had replaceable connector from 3,5mm to 2,5 or even USB
found it:

What's the best wireless earphones for an android phone
buds 2 pro?
Airpods pros or buds 2 pros
I was gonna get airprods pros but I heard the features don't work
yea, typical apple on android stuff
still works as fine
So buds 2 pros are better?
you still have the active noise cancelling and the tuning which are the most important parts but the other smart features arent available
just those creature comfort is not available natively
i wonder how much power im putting into these reds right now
im home for my lunch break so im wired up
got my schiit magni on neutral gain 50% power
the one on that list that broke the deal for me is the battery indicator, but there are apps that fix that so its fine
same amount i use for my over ears
me too
swapping to the dongle on my aria and i have to add -10db gain in apo if i want to keep the same windows level
previously i ran -6.7
mentioned these https://shop.mimugloves.com/products/mi-mu-gloves in tech chat 2 and im curious is there anything liek this gloves that are more avaibile and same quality?
The MiMU Gloves: advanced wearable musical instrument, for expressive creation, composition and performance. Currently out of stock, please join the waiting list here. 2 year warranty. Each purchase includes...- 1x pair of MiMU Gloves - Batteries - 2x USB charging cables - Carry-case for transportation and storage - A
i wanted to buy a pair but they are all sold out and next version isnt until 2024
ive never seen something like that before in my life
imogen heap uses them alot and even helped work on them and advertise them
also ariane grande used them a few times
I personally find the buds pros stay in my ears better
The airpod pros are just, yeah.
they basically can be used to replicate instruments either through movement or just the fingers
you have some picky ears
so if you wanted to a couple fingers for piano and a gesture for pitch control
not as picky as conpin tho he cant use any in ears
I am fully wholly aware
tbh the samsung galaxy pro buds 2 are a perfect fit for my ears
Oh I love in ears!
They just don’t love me
personally though i do still love my over ear headphones i just wish the focal bathys had better anc
Speakers > IEMs > headphones for me
for me though the main issues i have is alot of companies dont try and make their headphones weather resistant
really want to try some in trade show at least
and the fact that to get a headphone with as good tuning as iems without using EQ you have to spend an obscene amount of money
like my pro buds 2 have a great IPX
rating
i think alot of wireless headphones need to greatly improve their IPX ratings
i would imagine it's difficult to balance IPX and sound quality
but i dont know im not an engineer
i swear i recall there was some headphones ears ago with great IPX ratings
finished my lunch i had a big slice of pizza and a mtn dew baja blast
the american dream
i defintely think companies like sony have enough money and good engineers to manage to have a great wh headphone with ok audio and great IPX rating
but they always focus more on 1 and there stuff normally headphone wise has a ipx of 4
the first number is for dust resistance right?
i find it funny earbuds can get upto ipx 7 but headphones cant get past 4 or 5 they need to catch up ipx rating wise
if i have to guess, making the headband adjustment water resistance is harder than just seal up the shell of an iem
yeah looked into it and i heard Plantronics BackBeat FIT 6100 are ipx rating of 5 or 6
yeah the only part that needs to be open on an iem goes inside your ear canal
whereas headphone earpads are always a point where moisture can enter
depends how good the seal is
plus external microphones or buttons or switches if theyre active headphones
ontop of that i think with ipx rating 5 to 7 headphones i think they used a special kind of earpad
yea
with iem the tips really helps with that
with sonys case they put too many sensors on there stuff and dont make it so they are in places that water cant effect
avoid it
it doesn't have the feedback of an instrument
its a toy at most
is there any wearable music tech thats actually good
for producing music i keep seeing them pop up the last 5 years
You mean wireless headphones?
no i mean like gloves or wearable clothes for creating music
another thing i recall seeing ages ago were tech gloves that helped train you to play piano
so you turn them on wear them for awhile then your hands / muscle memory knows how to play the song
does anyone know if wire of dunu titan S is "microphonic"?
define sharp angle
like too sharp of a turn to the point where it damages the cable?
ye
how does it look like?
there is no universal standard because cables can be tougher, softer, more bendable than one another
but how is it normally for a pair of headphones
I mean headphones also have different cables with different builds but
ig 60 degrees is around fine?
I'd stick below 50-60 degrees by eye measure for comfort
a sharp angle is when you force it to be on that state/angle correct?
yeah
is it normally for a headphone cable to do the circle shape?
must be xd
circle?
like a roundy
it’s definitely better to make a loop than to have a 90 degree turn with a cable
na i was curious how sarp angle are my cable is behind my desk coming to the top
i’m sorry but i don’t think that i understand what you’re trying to ask
I was curious how sharp angles looked liked because i want to make sure not to happen
bending against the back of your desk should be okay
it's not sharp angle when it's bending its like a soft 90 angle
yeah it’s probably fine
ik
if it damages like that every headphone cable will be damaging since it will ahve to go up so it's going to make a angle but it's not a sharp angle nor forced xd
I have a problem that is windows can't recognize my mic's name and named it as USB advanced AUDIO device BUT
before it did recognize and showed "Fifine K678"
now with the weird name my mic's volume is greatly amplified. Hearing all shit in a 5 block radius with extreme noise

@unique wind I bought the Zero RED for 52.86€
Had to cancel the first order because somehow Amazon picked worse seller with higher price and slower delivery...that seller was...Amazon itself... LOL
I checked my bank account after cancellation and I don't see any charge, but I don't remember my balance before the order.
Fellow members, is it normal that Amazon doesn't charge rightaway? I never order from Amazon, so sorry for my newbieness...
from what I remember, Amazon charges after it ships out.
but it sounds like Amazon hasn't shipped out yet
Well, the second order charged me instantly.
oh. Guess I'm wrong then
But this order was from ShenzenAudio
The first one was Amazon itself
So you might be right
ah
might be different for various sellers
shenzhen is located in china so they might need downpayment for the shipping
In a few hours when they open support I will
If only I Googled 💀
Cool looks like I was right
What’s a good party speaker for college students? Just go as cheap as you can for the price. Like asking here cause you guys are amazing and I trust y’all 🤣

What’s a good one tho I’m not good with audio specs
When my brother was in a frat he was able to do some damage with the Klipsch promedia. They usually hover at around $100
Any suggestions for something more portable?

Alternatively, all the citadel interns got Bose SoundLink revolves
im using voicemeeter's VBAN to stream my audio from my laptop to my gaming PC and like three days ago it worked fine but now the audio is coming out my laptop and gaming PC. anyone know why?
Keeps turning their headphones the same way
Tho I have a little of that as well just standard
get a cord that will never do that
For anyone able to, I HIGHLY recommend going to a CanJam if you can. They're great fun and an opportunity to try a huge variety of awesome gear https://youtu.be/WT9UyIIAWfE
GoldenSound heads to CanJam London 2023 to check out some exciting new headphone releases!

I want to squeeze your cheeks
i wanna go to a headphone show to try dan clark headphones
DCA stuff is interesting, but definitely worth trying other stuff before buying
i would definitely want to try many niche headphones made by individual people or small teams/companies
I have a problem that is windows can't recognize my mic's name and named it as USB advanced AUDIO device BUT
before it did recognize and showed "Fifine K678"
now with the weird name my mic's volume is greatly amplified. Hearing all shit in a 5 block radius with extreme noise
Help
this problem happened after i tried to connect the mic to a mobile via OTG
before i tried that it was fine
It's all copium tier dynamics
The dan clark aeon x closed is the most copium tier closed back ever
It sounded like IEMs
The open back was mid af
The expanse was also mid
the only two i’m interested in are stealth and expanse
the cheaper ones don’t have good tuning
it’s gotta sound pretty incredible with such good isolation and damping and tuning and distortion
Gonna bring my dt880 and plug it into all the tube stuff
It was claustrophobic
i’m looking for that absolute isolation perfectly presented sound
IEMs
mhm i main iems
id like to see how that presentation feels with headphones
with whole ear bass tactility it’s gotta be pretty cool
They're good but definitely not incredible
Expanse was better, though still for the price there are better performing headphones.
Interestingly Expanse achieves its tuning with the assistance of some passive electronic filters (analog EQ), not just acoustic tuning.
IEMs
Though the 'perfectly presented' part is tough
yah i daily drive truthear reds, but id like to see how such a thing would sound with whole ear tactility
Not really any headphone that's actually 'perfect'
I wish there was a good electrostatic IEM
Or even a good electrostatic that wasn't $50,000
tfw perfect would mean a different sound signature for every single piece of music
something perfect for orchestral won't work well for EDM, lel
That's why you see people who've been in the hobby for ages having multiple headphones 😛
yo so i use a splitter when i use my headphones bc thats what came with them, and for some reason my mic randomly stopped working and idk if its the detachable mic or the splitter cable thats casuiong it. i get zero audio when i use the splitter cable in the right ports but when i plug the headphone audio end of the splitter into the mic port the mic suddenly works. i think this is a cable issue but im not sure
If i had to just pick one headphone though it'd still be Susvara
splitter's busted
Splitter is likely not wired to facilitate a mic as well. Many splitters will be three pole (check number of rings on the jack) whereas the headphones with mic will likely be 4 pole
no it worked before tho
i wonder if anyone will mimic a harman tuned tribrid iem like moondrop variations but at a much lower cost within the next couple years, truthear reds are awesome but the upper treble has room for improvement
EQ
Harman tuning for IEMs is unlikely to be much of a thing in future, there are unfortuantely issues with the harman in-ear research (and actually the truthear RED is kinda meant to demonstrate that point by explicitly NOT being harman and sounding better tuned than harman IEMs)
tbf they are lacking a bit in the highs
that’s their only real flaw
then again, I'm an idiot so
okay so you think i should buy a new splitter cable
?
but they’re incredible for $55
I didn't say that
We don't have enough information to make recommendations
The REDs aren't the most technical/detailed yeah.
Crin is doing a full flagship IEM from scratch which will likely have very similar tuning to RED but way more technical. It's gonna be $$$$ though
can't be more than my IE600s were
at least it better not be
he did put four dollar signs
fuck
They're probably going to be over $5k
shelling out four figures for in ears that aren’t custom mold shells is hard for me to justify
Most very high end IEMs have a custom option
Symphonium STORM is probably my fav flagship IEM. That's about $6k iirc
those are truly phenomenal though
i don’t know how much my salary would have to be before i’d be willing to pay that much for in ears
id much rather invest in headphones at that price
very, very high
The ultra-fi IEMs are mostly bought in Singapore/China
I'd go for speakers at that end
In USA/Europe etc it's mostly headphones
Zeppelin ❤️
There's some REALLY good new headphones coming out though
Heddphone V2 is 👌
If I didn't live in a pretty loud complex and have two very needy cats that might be interesting
i might be in the minority but a bit of background noise doesn’t bother me while i wear open backs
i like being able to hear the world at the same time as the music
within reason, i haven’t used my open backs hardly at all during this summer because my window ac unit is very loud
Ah yeah that can be a challenge
Background noise is different from DFW airport landings overhead
There's some decent closed backs, but tbh, you can get way better performance with IEMs
there's just so many challenges involved with making closed backs
Soundz Flame is great. £1200, some insanely high isolation and excellent performance
This plus I refuse to use a good speaker setup
My neighbors are kind to me, I'm kind to them
i watched your headphoneshow canjam coverage video when you sent it earlier this morning
-35dB isolation on the flame 😛
oh yeah that's another thing
The passive isolation on the Reds is really not great
i don’t find it to be lacking personally
although it is massively improved using the foam tips instead of silicone
my ears are also just weird as hell
my ac that’s right behind my head is barely audible with foams
oh yeah I don't use foam
They fail too quickly while I'm at work
do they squeeze out of your ears?
or do you mean something else when you say fail
No, I just can't get replacements when I'm out
So like, over 8-9 months they soak up earwax over time and begin to fall apart
Did it once with my airpods, never again
earwax or humidity idk, but they go bad and I can't get replacements
oh
yeah i’m not sure what i’ll do when these foams inevitably fall apart
the smallest size of dekoni tips are still a little uncomfortable compared to these
took me like a week for my ears to not hurt when using those last time i tried and it’s been a while
whatever foams truthear included with the reds are the most comfortable out of any that i’ve tried
yeh, the foams with the IE600s are absolute shit
i’m going to steal your ie600s and dispose of them
then again I'm not a level 8 listener so what do I know
leave my treble extravaganzas alone
They're like #8 on crin's rankings they can't be that bad
(I know that's subjective but I'm coping)
the iem market has developed so much in the last few years
i’m sure that ranking list is a bit outdated
It just got a full overhaul last week
i mean before the qkz x hbb khan and truthear crinacle collaboration you couldn’t get an iem with a harman bass shelf without spending like $500
excluding self powered DSP iems
to my knowledge anyway
either way I need to get this down before 1989 comes out
get what down
the best listening experience from my IEMs
i mean why not listen to it on everything that you own
perhaps just the reds and ie600
lmao
You can't be in midfi hell with only 2 things
can one even reach hifi without going the speaker route nils
The hifi was inside of you all along
I'm not gonna pin down what hifi is
Or how to achieve it
But buying a bunch of small mediocre things hoping they add up to one good thing isn't it
hifi must be the friends we’ve made and the journey we’ve gone on
That makes ltt the most hifi server
What better demonstration of friendship than hanging out with the same idiots for years
honestly I'd rather spend hifi money on speakers
that’s true i have enjoyed the multi year banter in this channel
plus, the only headphones I've ever used that really blew me away were all like $3500+, I ain't about that
i’ve only ever tried things that i own personally
not really in the cards to spend hundreds or even four figures to travel and listen to things at this point in my life
Oh yeah
There's a place in Singapore that's like a coffee bar/headphone place and I spend many, many days there
well there's multiple places now
sounds like a chill place
i’ve always wondered if and how they sanitize headphones and especially iems before letting people try them
got a bit loud at times but yeah
they do, depends on what it is
IEMs is just alcohol on the silicone tips
imagine how embarrassing it would be to put iems in and then have them be covered in wax when you pull them out
i would wanna go to an ENT doctor and have a thorough cleaning before going to an event
You can get otoscope ear cleaners for like $20
yeah i’ve seen those and they’re tempting but i worry about accidentally puncturing my ear drum
which i suppose would be a skill issue
I've got one and you can tell when you're getting too close
They also have guards which limit the depth
I tried on a ton of Acoustune IEMs while I was there and I absolutely hated them
They made me legitimately question if something was wrong with my ears
i think we talked about those and i posted graphs that show they just suck and you’re not crazy
this is reassuring
It was more than just graphs man I swear I could hear each driver slightly out of step with each other
a little driver hokey pokey
I feel like the only option for IEMs for me would be custom..
because after trying a bunch, none are capable of staying inside of my ears
eartips either are too big to fit, or don't go deep enough and fall out because of weight..
I have had a similar issue in the past but trying different tips fixed it. In particular, Xelastec.
Those are a silicone tip but a particularly high friction material that also with your body heat molds exactly to your ear. I got both great fit and great sounding results with those and they're usually my go-to now
issue is I need like XXS size tips that go quite deep
No tip etymotics
only one that's ever worked had static
my current in ear actually is just no tips, lel
works best from what I've tried
that is criminal
the only way I have something more portable and less hot
that stays even a little bit in my ears at all
They have a super small option https://i.imgur.com/UvSA3Xx.png
maybe the solution for conpin has finally been found
now just put those on a linear bass iem
maybe they're like me and ended up having TTS
tried it, doesn't go deep enough

Depth is gonna be an interesting challenge cause that's not really a tip thing but an IEM thing
need a long nosed iem
I've always had the issue of, either it can't go in or
it doesn't go deep enough and just drops out after a while because weight ig?
have etymotic make an XXS tip
qkz x hbb khan has a very long nozzle it felt kind of violating to fully push it in
but it’s nowhere near the tuning that you want
and it’s large anyway
yeah i’ll tell them to real quick
fiio ft3 really is peak mid
tfw ur entire body grew entirely in length, but u still got smaller sized ears, nose, wrists, etc
always need that thin but long stuff
i’ll give you $50 for them
oh good
yeah
but man
if they made them with bigger earpads for more ear space
it'd be an amazing product
the ultimate slightly warm neutral headphone
its warm as fuck
what I want is HE6 proper re-release
and the bass didn't even hit particularly hard
i wonder how you’d react to truthear red with the 10ohm resistor if you think ft3 is warm as fuck
especially with foam eartips
it sounds so thick
like all these people say dynamics have way better bass than planars, where is the speed and impact??
I prefer planar bass
who is saying dynamics have better bass
too many reviewers
planars have flat impedance and lower bass distortion
have you heard other versions of the arya
i imagine it’ll only be slightly different
someone uploaded this measurement comparison to a reddit thread
organic in green stealth in blue
i wonder if this difference in upper treble is accurately measured and consistent across units
@steel escarp are you demoing it today or tomorrow i forgot
Tomorrow
word i’ll be at the same shop tomorrow
Rip
What the fuck is going on between 1-3khz
That'd be good
only got the sad excuses called he6se
Some call it a 'soundstage dip'
Basically if you scoop that area slightly, it makes the headphones sound bigger. I think sennheiser did it first
Is that why I hated every hifiman I tried
because it was a discussion a couple days ago - I got the Sennheiser RS175 to test them out and there is literally no delay
which did you try out of curiosity
that isn't a bluetooth headphone
yeah, they are using Kleer
why would it have delay
that's what you were arguing, that there is a delay from converting the analog signal to a digital signal, I mean there technically is but it is not noticeable
I never said that
ever
I stated that because you thought buying a sound card would be an improvement to your wireless headphones' sound
and I told you that it has a sound card inside of the headphone itself
where it does the digital to analog conversion and amplification
I exclusively stated that bluetooth has delay which is unrelated to the rs as it has a dedicated receiver station for itself
though I did call the headphone shit which it absolutely is
sennheiser or hifiman make a good closed back challenge
I usually get mad at you for judging shit off of charts but yeah this is unsalvageable
compare with raycon
Can anyone recommend me some 50€ over ear wireless headphones? If possible a bit bass heavy.
Nothing crazy
Sundara open and closed, and the Ananda
its like 10db lower
sundara I can see why
ananda takes getting used to if you are a dynamic user
and vice versa
Yeah I was super not impressed
Want them for sports, thats why so cheap
moondrop space travel or something
its pretty decent
around 30$
don't come back complaining when the 3$ battery in it dies a few months afterwards
@past gate Check out these beautiful cables.
bros parents spelled his name wrong
lmao
Git wrecked
absolutely destroyed
Lol it’s the Irish spelling
So it’s the wrong spelling
i’m irish
my condolences
just dna
Gotcha
i was born and raised as an assimilated american
Real ireland or northern ireland 🍿
no fuckin clue man
are you a redhead
i’m not solely irish i’m a mutt
NGL I’m not even Irish I’m Italian lol just my parents spelled my name that way lol
i have brown hair and green eyes
All americans are assimilated americans
That’s the point of america 🦅🦅🦅
mfw there is no ginger kid to bully
I have a ford f150…
I’m english and 🤢fr*nch🤢
i will probably have a 90s f250 in early 2024 when my cousin sells his
I hope you do
Sell it online for $30k
My truck. Been working on it for 5 years now
the engine is unknown atm i haven’t asked but i know it’s a gas v8
Avg liquid death drinker
Lol
no clue if it’s the 5.0, 5.8, or 7.5
don’t really care tbh but it would be cool if it’s the big block
Trucks.. god I hate them..
I bought my truck with a blown engine and transmission and swap it with a 2016 raptor 3.5l engine
What’d trucks do to you?
I use my truck for work
use more fuel, higher up so u can't see things as well, etc
they're just murder machines..
older trucks are pretty small and have downward sloped hoods for visibility
i’m not a fan of how new trucks are massive and flat either
I blame the drivers
children being too small to see be like
I feel like i can see better in my truck then my car i had before it
a current gen f150 is bigger than a 90s f350 lmao
Is that legit?
I blame the minimum age to drive allowing those who still think with their nether region exclusively to be able to drive as well as the dumb design of trucks..
And fucking tows less
yeah they’ve been steadily getting larger to evade increasingly stringent size based emissions laws
and plus because people like it
thankfully there are no trucks allowed here like that, lel
you’d be surprised how much smaller 90s 3/4 and 1 ton trucks are
Despite having the same tow capacity
well idk about that
americans just prefer quantity over quality too much
How does that work if you need a truck?
maxed out 1 tons with diesels can tow like 36,000lb these days it’s kind of insane
u never do, because u have work vehicles for that, lel
Ah yeah I’m talking gasoline
don't need a truck for transport at all, not even the best for it
nothing it is good for, lel
almost all vehicles you see on the road here are crossover suvs or trucks
Towing
To be fair our roads are total dogshit
here in EU it is much more reasonable
moving in an out of a furnished apartment
POPUP HEADLIGHTSSSS
u mean vehicles meant for moving?, aka not a truck?
but yeah not much of a reason
pickup trucks are plenty for moving if you aren't moving furnisher
Buy it
Ego check
sounds pretty sick ngl
just use work vehicles here
definitely not compensating for anything
How will people know you’re a big manly man without a 25,000 truck?
idk the name, idgaf about cars
just those u often use for work
Now that’s just ridiculous
a normal car?
idk the names
“Work”
trucks are just unnecessarily large and inefficient
maybe i should get a 5ton 6x6 since american roads are becoming a dick measuring contest with vehicle size
simply move over or i’ll run you over
yes
especially in europe
don't even have trucks here like that
they are rare
i’ve never seen what he just posted irl that’s pretty rare
Do you guys not have trailers either?
just too inefficient so not allowed about anywhere
there are but its rare
you generally have caravans
multiple times? wild
not really trailers
i’ve wanted to see a 6 door irl but never have
just to see how ridiculous they look
maximum cabin space minimum bed space
They always have bald offroad tires
You don’t want to be within 100 meters of one on the road
You gotta remember a lot of these goobers can’t actually afford this crap

bald from driving tens of thousands of miles on highways instead of off road
OH IT IS
imagine being so fat u need 3 rows for 3 people
😔
And just dogshit maintenance
i mean hey big tires are expensive
I'll just never get a car
until it drives for me
don't want to deal with the idiots on the road
aren’t european highways substantially safer than american ones tho
train, walking and cycling is enough.. especially when everything u need is within 20 minutes of walking
yeah cars are such a scam
it still is a bunch of people driving like they are the only ones there
i mean yeah if you live in a major walkable city there’s no point in a car
you buy the car then they have you buy "gas" or whatever
I would rather have a motorcycle than a car honestly, lol
I’m talking about people not maintaining their vehicles properly because they can’t actually afford the vehicle
i feel like europeans don’t understand just how car dependent 95% of americas infrastructure is
they did it to themselves
if you don’t live in one of like 12 major cities chances are you are required to have a car
no side walks exists
the other 98% of our land mass isn’t walkable
You can walk anywhere, you’re just lazy 🤓👆
americans are that weird species that drives to the local gym to walk for 30 minutes on a treadmill instead of walk to the gym and back
if the gym was within walkable distance they’d probably walk
nah, too many obese
We get it man
the majority of people in NYC don’t have cars for example
pull up a map of your country laid on top of ours for size reference
personally the only use I see for cars is in remote areas..
where public transport makes no sense because too few people
a once or twice yearly long drive for you is a daily commute for many people
Which is most of the usa
yeah that’s 95% of our landmass
suburbs or rural
Fuck suburbs man I fucking hate suburbia so much
10/10 IQ
where my family in kentucky are they are an hour and a half drive from the nearest walmart
I prefer living in a city never needing more than my legs
i guess they should just walk
I live a 5 minutes walk away from city center, so..
Even in a city, our closest grocery store is an hour walk on the road, no sidewalks
renting an apartment that cost 700k-1.8mil to buy for 530 a month..
i’m very jealous of that housing price
if i wanted to move out i would have to pay like $900-1200 for a studio apartment and i live in a poverty suburb city
almost double what my parents pay for their mortgage on our 4 bedroom house with a large yard
Yup
Our 650 sq ft apartment is $1700 and we live over an hour away from any major city
I live in the netherlands and am categorized as disabled (even tho am not), so I get a lot of help with paying for things tho
disabling myself and moving to the netherlands real quick
moved recently from a small city
that place was -60 a month
got paid more back than I paid for it
I was paid to live there
hey at least now you can walk to get things you want
it sounds like a country that has such insane taxes and extra costs that working makes just no sense for many people
better off just saying u cannot work
I moved to major city to start schooling myself for 3D artist, programming, etc
because I ain't travelling 5 hours a day back and forth for that
25min walk is better
i will gladly get paid to stay home
do u want a cheaper than free apartment?, just chop off ur legs and move here
u'll have 600-800 in savings per month after food and insurances without working
idk i kinda like having legs
Sounds like fraud 🦅🦅🦅
then just act like u are disabled during diagnosis
Commie fraud
I just abuse my past to get what I want for now..
🦅🦅🦅
severely outdated diagnosis = easy help and free stuff
while I can just freely school myself
and leave the moment I can for another country with less stupid cost of living when working
So you’re the person that the social haters complain about
Taking resources from the people that actually need it
Cringe
I don't take it
I am not the one doing it
I have someone else get these things done for me within health care
not stable enough to work anyway, so..
no other way to live (all jobs I can do require u to be social, I literally can't)
now give me he6
I mean, I did get a few thousand euro in crypto from guys thinking I was a girl even tho I said I wasn't
bought my furniture with that
i would love to be a free loader
