ohhhh
so that’s what the difference was
i thought it was just an up charge for a different color
The reds are tuned slightly better
Likely you’ll have them undergo assisted dying lmao
i have no clue what that means
and get them far away from your line of sight
idk if i’m too tired to understand or you are just on a higher plane of existence than i am
Though I must say they’re better tuned than most headsets
Basically you’ll maybe throw them out
the cloud alphas?
Yeah
anyone know if theres a source code for the inbuilt Windows Media player from old windows versions
I was surprised tho at how competent my apple buds still were
Only have them bc their tuning is alr for mainstream music on the go
that’s good to hear
but if I had IEMs, they’re done for
I find I need to crank vol down for IEMs
Or in ear stuff in general
60dB gave me instant tinnitus
alr I’m out
i just feel like my ears get irritated from having something shoved in them
i appreciate your help a lot probably will end up buying the truthears
any recommends for a headset that can block out external noise
needs to be less than $150. my neighbor likes to drill and i like to play vidya
i tried looking on my own but a lot of these headsets get labeled as noise-cancelling but then the reviews say they're absolute dogshit for that
get something from Bose
then some other guy says "these indubitably block all noise" and idk what to think
don't waste your time with no name brands
go with something like Sony or Bose
at least when it comes to noise cancelling and such
last thing i ever went with was Sennheiser
they probably don't have the best noise isolation nor ANC
why
so no one particular set of nc headphones from sony/bose that you yourself have experience with using
the problem is that the technical details listed on anything on amazon are not enough to accurately assess how much this will reduce the sound that reaches my ear
i don't have access to blueprints that show cutaways where i can see how much space is between each element and what the elements are made of and how thick they are
all i really see is stupid pictures "wow headphone" and some FancyPants(tm)NewTechnology! feature description
if i go to any company's website they're gonna be talking all positive about their own product
it's not that simple you living rectum
mhm mommy really made you put on that outfit huh
Man should just wear earmuffs
Those have noise reduction specs
Or get IEMs lmao
Some of them are noise cancelling
Like Etymotics, sennheiser, Beyerdynamic DT 770 M
how are those specs for ya
you missed the part where 99% of these reviews are from people who aren't comparing two products
you mean like the dB reduction value of the air space in the shell
Tech that ANC employs works kinda dif
dB reduction of what
No dB reduction value is across the spectrum
of sound
i just need headphones that'll make the biggest difference between red and green
some materials, since earmuffs rely on their build, might be more effect in bass range
But usually are better at treble blocking because of the nature of high freq waves being small and short
mhm
Hence easy to block
but all of these headphones are literally better across the spectrum than taping a piece of cardboard to your ear
Tf are those lmao
Uhm?
May I ask the sennheiser model?
take off your monocle for a second
And if you ever bothered to enable ANC
don’t come here for a rant
Or I’ll just rant back
don't come with a bitchface
And no one has a solution
mr 'black hole'
yo someone pull an uno reverse card pls
depression
mr tophat
are you 16
are you lying
i'm 25
i can't remember being interested in you beyond your initial categorisation into a set of stereotypes
your mom is a waste of space
void puns aside if anyone has a direct recommendation for noise-cancelling headphones under $150 i would be glad to hear
i don't remember but your stereotype can't produce something beyond your own value
I was just messing with you bc I was bored
i'm currently using headphones that i found in a box because my older ones aren't here
Noise cancelling and under $150 scream “wireless earbuds”
NPD screams
I’m honestly trying to help rn
But ig you need an ophthalmologist at this point
Cuz it’s hyperopia vs chronic myopia atm
your mind is not a void that's what a mixture of denial and despair looks like
i used to have a sennheiser model in 2013
i was hoping i could skip the research by finding someone who already has collected all the needles from every haystack
Well suffice to say ANC is a bit more developed these days (understatement)
any opinions on the JBL Tune 760NC?
Thanks!
Still not the best for certain noise sadly
Still.. from what I’ve tried current ANC better than the ANC on the 1000xm3 I still use (which barely blocks out speech on busy trains, but does block out Portable AC, so I use it mainly for that)
Man wtf why does it so long for arya organic to be shipped to the netherlands
hello, why does my mic works on test but not on calls on discord
does anyone have a clue ?
It works on discord test but not on calls?
What mic, how is it set up, what windows, what is discord set to use, what do you see in the volume meter when talking
yes its like that
Wireless headset? Wired? Tin cans?
I used vb cable to get my obs filters and now I removed that and everthing is on default, windows 11, I use pc37x
So what devices is discord set to use?
Go to the advanced view (the old.control panel one)
And set your "communication" devices
this
Yes
do nothign?
In playback and recording you can select a communication device
As well as a default device
Defaultand default comms?
It says your headphones are not plugged in
no I have multipe and removed them becasue of this troubleshoting
these are my hyperx \
I removed all contorller and audio devices and camers \
i wanted to see if anything is messing with it
wtf push-to-talk works, mic doesn't work on open
I found it thanks anyways
Dang
Is a pair of neumann kh80 dsp for 600 good?
is human flesh good for food?
No
well I just tried it and I can say you were 100% WRONG
most normal audio tech conversation
bad headphones
muddy vocals
or more like the severely bloated transition from bass to mids makes them sound like it
zero sub bass and just mud overall
most unhappy headphone purchase ive ever had even comparing to cheap earbuds
not sure why they were recommended by people so much years ago and the 558s
actually my purchase was the 558 but i took the foam out behind the driver which made them more similar to the 598
either way unless its radically different both are shit
The what now who now
joe
Senn releases so many readphones that vary so wildly I’m pretty sure they just slap random drivers in, run a number generator, and put HD in the front
ironic that the best two headphones sennheiser has are the hd560s and the 6xx
both at $160-200
hd800 is fine but it's just muh wide soundstage because it has weird upper treble and the driver is positioned far away
What about the HE-1

i will not acknowledge headphones that cost as much as my house did in 2008
Jealous
No IM jealous
60k house
Gimme
oh i mean same
this is my parents' house, i was in kindergarten playing with blocks in 2008 lmao
im thankful they let me live here so long as i work fulltime because if i had to move out i would be paying more for a studio apartment than they do for their 4 bedroom house with a good sized yard
Yeaaa
I need the housing market to obliterate itself thanks
wym? you dont want to pay more monthly for a studio apartment than boomers do for their 4 bedroom houses?
sounds like the american dream to me
My car payment is more than some of those fucker’s mortgages
what do u drive brother
Just a Miata
I put around $750 towards it per month
I don’t like having debts okay but I’m working on my credit
MIATAAAAAAAA
im shopping for my own first vehicle now actually
kinda regret blowing my first year's wage on tech shit instead of saving it for a vehicle
I mean… a car is a serious money pit so you have to consider that
Istfg Magdalena Bay has some of the most well mixed pop songs ever made
hd600 and hd650
i thought you were a hd600 hater
yeah I hate them
but I acknowledge them solely for the unreasonable amount of people who worship them
Bland ah headphone
bland ahhh music genres that you listen to
Hyperpop
There's only two headphones which have impressed me. The hd6xx and the hifiman susvara.
Everything else has been some flavor of meh.
I’ve never had the privy to either
Honestly I use my HD600s as a sort of mental reset
if something sounds boring on hd 600/6xx/sundara it's because the music itself is boring
I don’t listen to boring music
same
We all think we’re quirky
If you know the magic words you can get some dealers to knock it down to $4k ish
“Put the headphones in the bag”
There's a loophole that the retailers can sell it cheaper if it's "open box".
“Can I try them first?”
nils is gonna order susvara soon
You just ask if they can sell it as an open box item.
Hell no
Nils already got HE-1s
Nils needs to revamp his desktop system
same
i need to upgrade both my gaming pc and my home server and i dont wanna do either
I need better ears
PC just got upgraded. I need a 4tb SSD and that should be it for the PC.
win
Then DSP speaker system.?
now youre chasing real hifi
One day I can have actual speakers lmao
speakers can be a lot of fun even if theyre mid and in a mid room
Well the issue right now is Apartment
My neighbors have always been good to me, I’m doing the same
youre being a reasonable and considerate person? kinda cringe
whats the best pair of wireless headset? budget is 50-70 usd
Im looking for wireless cuz I got the steelseries arctis pro wired and not wireless like about a year ago and im really looking for an upgrade
finally fixing to get my surropound sound now for my room i have all the stuff shipping for my monitor an my amplifyer for my head phones for my pc an phone now. once i get my surround sound ill be happy got me a reciver fort it now i need to get these second vintage speaker i am gpoing to pic k up for my stuff an then a subwoofer an conect it to me pc whiole i have every thign going on so like amovies anime music be playing an then be able tpo move it to my little shack i also have a good blue tooth transmitter on my pc so tjhat i can control it from my little shack in the wintter while i chop wood
Just listened to Mind-Killer and I don’t think my headphones have ever felt such strain

What do you think about SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless?
Found a guy selling them sealed for 145€
https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-pro-wireless-pc-playstation
Audeze Maxwell
terrible
id consider buying if it was like 20usd
Why?
I was hopeful for a proper reasoning.
it sounds terrible
Have you tried 'em?
Sure, they are no Sennheiser, but I already have two Senn-boys
Then use those
sennheiser has like 3 good headphones so that isn't a descriptive statement
I wanted to try out wireless pair.
IE600 on top 🦅🦅🦅🦅
Audeze Maxwell
20$ chifi iems sound better than the arctis pros
☠️
Says a guy who uses "terrible" as a descriptive review of headphones together with fragile and I have not seen reviews boasting about tgat.
Jesus Christ...
the best thing about having owned them was I could return them exploiting warranty
I wanted IE 600, but then I tried em adn damn, for that price, nah
Rip L bozo your ears just suck
IE 600 are overrated for what they are
Can’t match my alpha chad IE600 listening ears RAHHH!!!! (i am coping)
factual
they have a lazy bass shelf and weird upper treble
literally google arctis pro headband failure
there are like a million results
The upper treble is ironically why I bought them
Bass and Senn are always weird, but treble was the culprit why I returned em
Arctis Pro or Arctis Nova Pro Wireless?
Their naming scheme sucks, I can agree with that
sucks dick
basically +10db at 9-10khz man it’s so weird
if you didn't like ie600 you wont like these at all
maybe people with hearing damage like them
https://steelseries.com/gaming-headsets/arctis-nova-pro-wireless-pc-playstation
https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/steelseries/arctis-nova-pro-wireless-pc-ps-xbox
and the bass shelf starts at 300hz
nova pros are still really wack
Stfu I like treble 🦅🦅🦅
less wack but if you have any good headphones
Should start at 2khz
you don’t have to ask me twice
you will absolutely not like them
you will have to ask me twice
Woa, piercing damage upon ye
please no
I want a flat line with rolled off treble
you already own that
I want a headphone that makes me cry
Buy my akgk1000
Audio technica 500x good?
Hmmmmmmmmmnmmmm
No
Not the worst.
your ie600 would make me cry (not joy)
Those are any headphones really, if you have a GF/wife that learns the price.
Listen man this was before I was using graphs and shit
Let him be xd we pulled out pitchforks on a poor guy
Female vocals on the IE600s are just :chef’s kiss: and that swayed me hard
...and Micheal Jackson
Real
I’m still in the sky
i fcking froze to death
Only $1000
+shipping
“Bitching about capacitors”
What level is hybrid liquid gold plated ultra flosser 9000 RCA cables
i wish i liked wearing headphones because arya stealth open box $800 on headphonesdotcom
Honestly the vibe I’ve gotten is once you hit like $1000, better to invest in speakers?
Ok glad I’m not just smoking copium here
some objectivists would say buy truthear red + apple dongle, ignore all headphones, and save up for speakers
but like nils said $160-300 is really the realm of headphones worth buying
Those objectivists are morons ignorant to whatever doesn't show up on a frequency response graph
hey man it’s cheap to be a level 7 listener
I just like directionality and IEMs don’t give me that
that’s strange for real
I just like not having sweaty irritated ear holes from wearing iems for too long
am i the only person who is easily able to discern directionality with iems or are quaad and klaus just insane
I’m just silly goofy
ear issue
banter ofc
It’s just not even remotely as good as speakers, and the ones I have at home are just bigbox store randoms
yeah it’s quite frankly ridiculous how bad iems and headphones are compared to speakers
Christ I cannot spell today
headphones are good for value, convenience, and privacy but otherwise just lose
they’ve never been able to make me feel emotional like speakers can
Only ones I’ve ever tried that did were Visionears EXTs
those look pretty
would never in my life pay $2500 for in ears though
maybe if they were custom molded and solid state but otherwise no
They look pretty sure but good lord I was borderline sobbing in public
truthear reds have managed to make me sing lyrics out loud tho which was previously something only speakers could do
Yea I’ve gotten my partner really into audio now so I can maybe swing it in the future
^
50-70 isn’t going to be an upgrade, just a sidegrade
where is HE6 option?
I like something that stays on my head, in ears fall out just by opening my mouth to breath
on the international space station
u are at the bottom of the list
rip
i mean
you paid like 150 usd for a shitty gaming headset
and you want an upgrade for 70$?
emu teak
and it’s a wireless gaming headset
no
yeah
klaus is level 3 on the iceberg
Is there a level 0
i guess that would be level 1 where you just enjoy music
and don’t know anything
maybe 0 is you don’t like or listen to music and know nothing
Where do you fall if you’re classically trained in 5 instruments but don’t know shit about audio equipment
Because that’s my partner
Musicians see the more of the forest and less of the trees
Or maybe the other way around
yeah and psychopaths speak in riddles
anyone can be level 8 with a cement block tied to their feet
Audiophiles focus more on the reproduction. It's like examining the surface of a painting
So it’s a bunch of nerds without talents parading as talented
Is the painting well lit, is it crooked, is the frame distracting from the art
It focuses more on the presentation of the art than the art itself.
Which is important.
But if you're an artist then you probably care more about how the art is made rather than how it's being displayed
this doesn’t rate that
that iceberg is for listening audiophiles not for producers
Lame
the music creation and pro audio industry is its own separate massive world
I’m not big brain enough for that
that i frankly know almost nothing about beyond basic microphone knowledge
yah i meant more like setting up concerts and presentations and shit
i don’t know shit about pro audio like that
i know everything about audio
I bet klaus only listens to music with clipping and pieces of tinfoil wrapped around his cable connectors
that’s greyshadow
that's definitely grey
I only listen to hyperpop and jazz in 5/8 time signature
is rolling your chairs over headphones cable going to cause it damage?
hey does anyone know anything about windows audio issues because i cant seem to fix it
Depends.
Once and it’s a clean roll? No
Over and over and it gets tangled in the wheels? Yeah
I’ve been fighting windows audio for a while, what’s up
yes
hey wait a second Kanye isn't from Albania
I am kanye west I can confirm this is wrong
The headphones show up
on volume mixer the other apps show the green sound bar moving but on headphones the green bar is at 0 always
aka no output on the headphones
its not the volume port i have also tried with bluetooth headphones they had same issue
the headphones work on my phone
ive deleted and installed the generic windows audio drivers still doesnt work its set up as the main device on playback devices
it may be an windows version issue
i have a windows 10 1555 and it doesnt let me upgrade to 22h2 the windows update tools are maybe corrupted
Did you make sure windows is outputting to the port your headphones are plugged into
yeah I was gonna ask did you make sure Windows has your headphones output selected first
lmao its all I got rn
Also, if you’re having issues with windows it never hurts to run SFC /scannow in command prompt
yes they are outputting at the headphones
that doesnt work my windows version is super bugged for some reason
im thinking of upgrading to windows 11 like i have done on my laptop but i lost my flash usb
cloud 2 ig
despite what i said its an upgrade to the arctis pro
If it’s that bad you should just fresh install windows 10
hmm ok
which is a very low bar anyhow
Id just reinstall Windows at the point you're at, considering you're already 4 versions behind
Honestly, if it’s so bad that command prompt isn’t even working it’s already gone, start over
just update windows
or reinstall without deleting files and programs
literally nothing to lose
Delete system 32
I have a good track record of making 3 people delete their system 32
i did a whole fresh factory restart but my cd i think is a bit old
what about something on the go, what would be a good pair of wireless headphones
…CD?????
lmao alr
you can try getting cloud 2 wireless but its not as good as wired and its out of your budget i think
yea
its a retro build but im trying to make it as fast as possible using old components
Audeze Maxwell
Yeah that’s your problem
retro build
windows 10
it can run 11 xd
very retro ong
Then do that
i lost my usb
but
anyways
idk what wrong with audio cant find anything similar to it in the internet
Dawg is it a CD or usb
just reinstall the os
win 10 cd
but i have a 11 usb somewhere
Just reboot into the troubleshooting menu and reset windows
Windows 10 doesn’t even fit on a dvd, certainly not a cd
Maybe the installer
you can install windows 10 without a usb
I don't understand why you aren't just formatting
it takes 30 minutes on its own
you don't lose any programs or files
Ok so grab a usb drive
Download the windows 11 create media
Install on usb
Profits
you don't need that either
i have 0 files on this pc so i dont mind loosing any
you can just directly run the media toolkit on your desktop
okay so what is the point
I’m still trying to process how windows 10 is retro ok
i have 2 usbs in my house one for my car a small 16gb for music
the other is 128 and should be somewhere in my appartament
i should do that
the pc tower itself is retro
it has a dvd reader
intergraded speaker
but its broken
so
yk
anyways
thanks for help guys
ill just run the media toolkit on my desktop
mfw dvd readers are retro now
lmao
i mean retro is an arbitrary term but windows 10 is almost 10 years old now
I disconnected my dvd drive like a week back
7 years ago aint retro
even windows 7 would be stretching it
Just…
Start
Hold shift + click restart
Fresh install
well it has a motherboard from 2008 with a lg775 socket
I have a gpu that isn't amd or nvidia in the computer I use to rest on my feet
I have no idea what the gpu is and never heard of the company
I still don’t understand how scannow isn’t working
what
Windows be like👍
They said scannow doesn’t work
what are good headphones for 110 usd
I know nothing abt headphones so sorry if I seem dumb LOL
@molten lotus i have rebooted it multiple times it says the same thing xd
he400se if you have a decent on board audio output
hmm ok
skill issue
Win+E
C:\Windows\WinSxS
Delete “pending.xml”
Try again
this but sys32 instead
Also you must run command prompt as an admin.
You can also do this in command prompt in the windows recovery environment, which is better
qudelix but no zen air
you’re the only person who uses zen products
Zen air is the nepo baby to qudelix's self made millionaire
Zen air wears cologne and a cardigan. Qudelix has a rolled up white shirt with stains on it.
shilled hardcore in sg
fucking bot nuking my shit
@fallow sleet I will make you into scrap
Hi - As a newcomer to audio editing, i hope this channel fits question.
I built missions for an Arma3 Community and I got into pre-recording voice lines to play in those missions. To make them sound more authentic am looking for ways, workflows, tools etc to get more involved in refining those audio-lines - for example, make them sound like a radio transmission.
So far i only worked with audacity and can achieve results suitable, but i wonder if there are "better" ways to achieve the same goal.
Any advice?
lower bitrate, a lot
cut off sounds above, I don't know 17khz
cut off sounds below 100hz
how would i lower the bitrate with audacity?
ask chatgpt or something I don't know
hm
This is a quick video to show you how to apply a radio effect to your audio in audacity. This could be useful for things like games and movies.
There's tons of these tutorials
I bet you'd also be able to find a plugin that does this for you
im already researching in that direction, just woundering if people have specific experience and advice 🙂
I've used a plugin in the past to mimic a tape recorder sound
But really it's not much beyond adding some EQ filters, distortion, and compressors
is there a way to create a "preset" to add all those effects at once? i'd like to optmise so i can focus on the voice lines more then the technical bit
You can make a preset
we need mm-100
if all it is in terms of sound is close to a he100se with audeze build then its already a win
I need HE-1s
Dudes got great hair not a split end in sight
Yeah what the fuck man share the secret
I had to cut off my last ship hitch hair because it was dead.
Like 7 inches, gone
my hair parts a lot
you are one greasy boy, no surprises there
as in parting from my head
not really equipment but software. is there a program i can use or something that I can do that will limit sudden large audio changes? for example, watching a stream on twitch where the game they're playing suddenly has a really loud jumpscare or something like that. basically just a cap on the max volume that i can adjust. (ping me, please, if you reply, i don't check this discord super often)
if you get some headphones from dan clark audio they'll do that automatically
wut
compress-fi
lmao
(unironically)
Senhieser HD 595 vs HD 600s
What are the differences between the two in terms of audio quality?
Newborn baby vs Rob Halford. I wonder where they differ
hd hd595 is terrible mediocre and the hd600 is one of the best headphones ever made
depends on if it's a coughing baby or not
Maybe I should’ve said infant banshee instead
I'm not really that into the audio space but I did know that the 600s were extremely popular
he hits his treble peak in the verses
sennheiser makes a handful of good headphones and then a bunch of bad ones.
HD600...there are so many numbers between 0 and 600
and many more afterward
and there's like just 10-15 good ones
Know of any other good over ears besides senhiesers?
how much money you got and what are you using them for?
ZMF but these are novelty lol
like the Artisan of headphones
HD414, HD424, HD540, HD580, HD560S, HD600, HD650, HD800, HD800s,
any others im forgetting?
their estats
Around the same price tag as the 600s and I'm using them for listening to music, I would prefer closed back because I live with family
hmm i dont think the family part will be too much of an issue. closed backs will ruin your experience more than a little bit of background noise.
HD6XX or HD600 are gonna be the best reccomendation for you I think. 6xx is cheaper and has a bit more bass.
otherwise, audeze maxwell or truthear zero reds for isolation.
and if youre more comfort oriented, dt880 are easier to wear for longer periods of time but they dont have the natural treble that the 600/6xx have.
Thx
or if you're interested in something 3D printed and comfort focused send me a message :)
as in you will not find anything more comfortable at the price point
no shilling
nein
an audio compressor
but it will deteriorate the audio quality
literal 0.2dB difference in dynamic range
Klaus still not believing in dynamics in 2023
I believe in it
especially that it is measured
and deviates 0.2dB from a sennheiser dynamic
Does anyone know good gaming headphones with noise cancelling, wireless, surround sound, and is comfortable under $150?
pretty sure most older flagships from Sony and stuff have all those features at that price point
I don't know of any program that does this but it should be out there considering it's a pretty simple thing to clamp audio signals.
My lessons throughout the years is that you have to have a friend who knows about this stuff because asking 'experts' will always net you a vague answer that doesn't actually get you where you need to go.
Or a professional marketer that has a knack for malapropisms
or some model name memory savant
Compression isn’t really what I’m wanting to do, though. It isn’t reducing the entire dynamic range, basically just saying volume = min(volume, MAX_VOLUME). Volume isn’t really the right term here though. It’s more the decibels. Idk. Maybe I’ll try to write something.
That’s my thought too. I guess I just don’t really know the right words to google. All the programs I was finding were tools to set a maximum number on the windows volume slider, which isn’t what I’m trying to do.
So, I have this Thorens turntable that I want to connect to my Sanyo stereo,
the issue is that the integrated phono sound-in is .. headphone jack
and my Thorens has L/R
will a simple L/R to jack adapter do ?
(pictures)
It is quite literally what you are trying to do though
that is rca
not a headphone jack
wait you mean the socket
what the fuck is that socket
you can use a 3.5 female to rca female for that
the phono port in the amp is jack
use female rca to 3.5
yes its what i thought
klaus you should try putting your 3.5 in a female
your mom has already volunteered
:(
Boom toasted
Our turntable has a built in phono amp and outputs exclusively through 3.5mm
these good?
Just get these;
https://www.fiio.com/SP3
The SP3 employs a 3.5-inch carbon fiber midwoofer, larger than typical products in its class. These larger woofers have an inherent advantage over smaller woofers in dynamics, projecting a larger soundstage, and other sonic attributes. Whether watching movies or listening to music, this woofer is truly capable of expressing the grandness of the ...
but they are carbon fiber they must be good
Do I go with a sony receiver or stick with my rotel rx-850
For newbies or maybe a second 'table, the U-Turn Orbit (GEN 2) makes a lot of sense!

Eh
You can probably get a similar experience with a used turntable
Skull emoji
dumb video
literally 90% of vinyl audio is the stylus
and 10% is the tonearm
there is a reason no one gives a shit what turntable you use
literally buy whatever has the tonearm you want and looks cool
Hii
are studio headphones better?
like are they superior to the gaming headphones while they can retain surround sound>
they sound better yes
due to how many headphones there are, it depends when it comes to better or worse surround sound, but it should overall be better.
im asking if they retain 7.1 surround soound
i need a studio headphones that retain the surround sound future
for wider hearing experience as if I can hear left and right
You should be able to hear that on any headphone
and I'm pretty sure that Surround 7.1 is software, so any headphone should be able to do it
You don't need specific headpho for that
The only studio headphone I have is the dt 1990 pro and their distinguishing feature is that it's built like a tank
Most headphones you don't wanna drop but those feel like you could chuck it at a wall and they'd not only still work, you'd have a dent in your drywall
correct notion would be "non gaming headphones are better"
That’s how you know there built for real studios with lots of different personalities coming through lol
Am I ignorant or do these Arya Organic graphs look not great
youre not ignorant
the ones that were posted here showed it having strange upper treble
as in way too much
Ah so I’d love them then
my wirless earbuds died, does anyone know any with a long battery life for under $40 CAD?
preferably off amazon
For $40? Wired headphones
Best battery life of all time
Until your phone runs out of battery in a couple hours lol
This looks like it was made for whatever TT came with that stack so it could be some weird shit too
50/50 on whether it has RIAA eq or it was built into the TT
Depends on the game
If the game has its own "3D headphone" audio option then yes use that and it works with any cans
If the game is outputting 7.1 and you are using an external processor (i.e. "surround " feature of gaming headset) for virtual surround then you can get that feature with certain gaming DACs or software
not really two parameters that go hand in hand
Not gonna happen. You can wait for akg n400nc to go on sale
or galaxy buds
So Wan'er Salnotes what's the other highly rated $20 iem not the kiwiears there was another?
truthear holas
I like using my friends as test subjects to buy 20$ chifi iems and then try them out
so far salnotes zeros were pretty astonishing to me
there was some weirdness in the vocals and it felt "slower" than arias
maybe a lack of treble extension somewhere or slower impulse response
How are the hola?
that friend hasn't met up with me yet
actually we met up today but I didn't ask for the iems
I prefer salnotes over wan'er
don't know the wan'er
Tangzu wan'er they have almost exactly the same squiggles as the zero but when listening they are a little more bass than the zero. The zero has better clarity separation and imaging but the wan'er are also very solid
yeah squiggles aren't everything
The zero fit better for me the wan'er wanna slip out but when they are seated and want to sit deeper which might explain the whole bass difference.
Is a loud pop normal when connecting/disconnecting a headset
Ye
You temporarily short the contact points when plugging in the jack
It does not happen with xlr
Anyone know wireless over-ears for the gym like under 50€? Bass heavy if possible
then just buy anything, because what u are asking for is low quality sound, lel
the "max out the bass because bass sells well" headphones
Not saying 50 bucks good, but audio enthusiasts always exaggerate
there is 50$ that is good
but "bass heavy" and "good" can't go together
because that's just severely imbalanced sound where bass is all u have
For example, sth like wa'ner iem 25-30€ sound would be all good ENOUGH to me
Idk the name rn
idk either, I gave up on in-ears
because they never stay in
Tangzu iems
Cheap but suffice for me
Hd560s clearly better sound but i dont mind the worse sound bc i got other standards
Same, but they wrap around ur ear kinda
I mean, music is meant to be enjoyed
and also a reason I often tell people to run from audiophile community as far away as possible, because it doesn't make it more enjoyable.. it just raises ur standards to "requires basically 1000$ sound setup" and causes ur wallet to be empty
Even after getting the hd560s, im still fine with the 25€ iems and sometimes even prefer them due ti bass
talking about the like skullcandy crusher, raycon, beats, etc stuff as well here
Just dont wanna spend much on gym headphones bc they WILL break in like a year max bro
in the end, I would just say there's no point in looking for the best when all u want is bass heavy af
all of them will be bad anyway in terms of quality
I just want sth decently heavy because i often find myself increasing volume due to wanting more base, i know it gets a bit muddy tho
If its like wa'ner tungzu quality im all fine tho
wireless + bass heavy + 50$, won't happen (no budget would make that happen)
Sound wise, tungzu got good enough base but wouldnt mind like a 10-20% increase
just don't have even decent bass heavy things
Are tungzu iems bass heavy?
Ok why exactly would they be bad IF they are bass heavy
I artificially boosted bass a bit
So theres that
muddy bloated sound, where all u hear is bass
A bit more muddy but also sounds more full
¯_(ツ)_/¯
Can deal with that to a certain extent
can't call it good if all u hear is bass, at that point just buy a subwoofer
Is there not even sth in between? With like a lil bass
I mean, ofc
but then u aren't getting "bass heavy"
Thats ok, in emergency i either live with it or i can artificially boost and figure out how muddy is fine to me
tho wireless at 50, I can only think of in-ears anyway
Iems always fallin out as said :/ and 1 step they gone
or like those children's headsets, lel
I got kinda big ears btw
Where they start?
I have small earholes
I need like XXS ear tips that go deep, lel
only ones I know are 100+
I know there was one or two around like 70-80 or smth
but don't remember what its name was..
Dam alr, thx anyway
all I know at 50 and under are like nekocake, which is an In-ear
theoretically moondrop space travel makes nekocake obsolete but i haven’t seen any non-moondrop measurements of them
found one
pretty killer for $25, plus they have anc, transparency, and three levels of bass adjustment
Anyone have anything to say about the SMSL M300SE dac?
only place I know I can find it, but..
i meannn
the nekocake treble extension looks worse
it has that massive hole
it is all the way up there at least, but still
if you account for the fact that the space travel was measured against harman which has a lot more 4-8khz then that region isn’t too dissimilar between the two
but the nekocake has that hole further up
¯_(ツ)_/¯

i wish someone that i knew irl owned airpods pro 2
my right utws5 has been having connection issues so i might just retire them
using a cable at my pc doesn’t bother me as long as i have the source below my desk so that the cable isn’t running across the desk
keep in mind, it is in the difficult to measure area
Had them, surpisingly worse than 25€ iems
why surprisingly?, they are slightly more than 25
and they need to have a dac/amp built into that tiny device
ofc it is going to be worse
even many 200$ wireless headsets are worse than a 25$ IEM
if not most
shouldn't forget how much impact the wireless has on making something worse
Huh? Where like 40€ or sth for me atm
35-40
which is barely more
won't be getting something similar in sound quality for a 10-15 increase when u have to add everything into that device
instead of externally
I dunno
bit off topic, but I've always thought people think money is worth more than it is..
saying 500$ for a laptop is a lot, 20$ for a t-shirt is a lot or 50$ for headphones is a lot
but if u actually look at the quality, we are looking at:
borderline unusable specs for anything more than browsing and word
t-shirt built with borderline slavery for cost cutting
and headphones that are just above what a dollar store would ask
You're right, money is basically worthless, give itt to me I'll dispose of it for you
not the kinda worth I am talking about
just people being too used to cheapo products built with insane cost cutting
looks at fast fashion and dollar store iems that break in 2 days
I mean, it is ofc fine if u don't technically need it and just want something that works for now, but..
my standards are a bit on the higher end tho compared to the average non-audio..
80-120 for headphones (150+ for wireless)
25-50 for IEMs (60-80+ for wireless)
for what I consider "reasonable starting price"
pretty accurate yeah
$25 iems are where they start to be good
great at $55
headphones are okay around $100 but great in the $160-200 range
i wonder how well the audeze maxwell works with ps5
might get a ps5 or perhaps whatever the refresh is called when dragonball budokai tenkaichi 4 drops
IM LOOKING for a foldable 88 key keyboard / piano or a rollup one any good ones you guys suggest?, it has to have midi support through usb and sound good
nvm skipping all of these going for this one
Yo so I have some speakers (I got them for free they were just sitting outside with a free sign) and I can hear the bass at 20hz (im using a frequency generator app on my phone) are they any good?
Sony mhc ec919ip btw
I have a question about audio:
My PC only has a single AUX out port but I want to be able to have multiple devices connected to it (I have 2 pairs of headphones and a set of speakers) and right now I'm just swapping out the aux line when I want to switch but I'd like to be able to not have to do this.
Do I have any options other than a PCIe audio card?
I think you should be able to get a splitter
I think I have one one sec
I haven't looked into splitters but I'd like to have them use separate audio channels, so figured a splitter wouldn't be able to do that for me
Was wondering if there was like a USB-to-like-3-or-4-separate-AUX-channels or something 😂
Idk I'm not an audio guy 😂
I'll see if I can find something like that, I'd rather not have to get an audio card tbh
But if anyone has any good suggestions, please lmk
are they any good?
You tell us.
UsbC has so many uses
You forgot the space between the ">" and the "a"
UsbC can do like almost anything cant it
You can get audio output switches pretty cheap. Try and find something without a volume knob. Because if it's too cheap the potentiometer they use could make an imbalance in the channels.
which one is the best overall?
Oooooo, thank you!
Omg I'm an idiot I thought I was still in tech chat 💀💀💀
😂😂😂
I mean they sound pretty good
I just wanna know if 20hz is good bass
why does every one have a volume knob!?
You can produce 20hz until the cows come home
Whether it’s accurate or not is the question
Maybe amazon is not the place to look
@lean grove how bad is a volume knob? I can't find a reasonably priced one without a knob on amazon and google only gives me forums where people explain how to switch the audio device in the Windows Settings
If you pump enough power into any speaker it will do 20hz. It's just a matter of it doing 20hz to a level that's in line with the rest of the music. So the speaker might be playing at 80, 90db but if the 20hz is playing at 50 or 60db it's gonna be virtually inaudible.
Yeah I can only hear 20 at max volume
But I can hear 70 at like 12
That's nothing special then
I can probably hear lower at 12 let me go check
Worst case scenario it's gonna have a little bit of imbalance. If you put the knob to max volume and just control the audio from your PC that should minimize the problem.
I was planning on doing that anyways
Thanks for your help 🙂
I can hear 50hz at 24% volume (12 cause it goes up to 50)
none of them, why
its difficult to measure you in a certain area due to size constraints
But it moves air so much
Yes
The bass fades into the side speakers between 120hz and 130hz
Cuz i dont really want to spend more than $100 for a headset 🤷♂️
why not ask us what headset is good at x price and instead list five bad headsets?
sure
in this order; sennheiser pc38x > pc37x > game one
the pc38x you are unlikely to find for 100$ but do try anyways
pc37x going for 100 on drop atm
could get pc37x yeah
do bowers and wilkins make good products
apparently sony headphones are meant to be good
i tried like 30 different headphones and only found one i liked
sony was the 2nd worst but also the most expensive
you’d have to pay me in order for me to use a sony headphone
i had to listen for myself to know which ones i wanted
dont wanna order online just based on what others think
reviewers that show measurements and can correlate their listening impressions to the measurements as well as giving details about build, fit, accessories, and other non-sonic characteristics
😍😍😍
(none exist)
Erin's audio corner and Andrew from headphones.com?
does erin review headphones? i thought he only did speakers
as for headphonesdotcom i don’t know i don’t look at their content
i’ve always lumped HDC into the same group as josh valour, dms, and zeos
Erin does speakers only yeah
And occasionally subwoofers
But Andrew from hdc does the same sort of scheme.
Starts out with his experience and then goes into measurements and explains how that lines up with his experience
is andrew the person who appears in most headphoneshow videos
Subjective on top RAH!!!
Yeah he's the guy with the round head and glasses beard
GoldenSound?
i’m watching you
he’s part of the audio matrix
I need neumann kh120 with a speedwoofer 10
get the 2x starke sw15 for $1000 deal
sealed and play down to 16hz at 88db in bursts
95db at 20hz and 102db at 25hz
You can hear 16hz?
using two of them with room gain you’ll have even more volume ofc
technically no but you can feel it
Mmmm
Pass
I get enough low frequencies like that on the ship
Pass
Yes, Resolve
can someone help me, i reinstalled w10 and my sounds in csgo are like i was hearing them 5 times
Check your audio settings and see if you've got any of the spatial or surround settings turned on
ive checked and some tutorial doesnt work
oh, i just typed some command in the console and it worked lol
Hey im looking for a simple solution for when im in a discord call that I can hear my own voice from my mic? Sometimes I like to use closed headphones but then my voice is muffled and it feels weird.
using the option in windows is turned on all the time and theres a delay
Most audio interfaces have this feature. What kind of mic are you using
@lean grove just using a boom mic connected to my headphones and a combination mic/audio trrs jack on my amp
Ah. Well the direct monitoring that you want is only really accomplishable through hardware
Software is too slow
So if you want it you're gonna need to get an audio interface which can do direct monitoring for the mic, which is just about all of them
Or finding a gaming DAC amp that supports it which is less common.
@lean grove I see, how can I tell if an interface has what I need? For example I use the creative sxfi dongle. Does the Sound Blaster X4 support what im looking for? Or the GC7? I like the sxfi effect so would rather keep it
whats the current best wireless gaming headset for under $200?
Get like 50 euro earbuds and a clip on mic. They are gonna sound better than any wireless gaming headset under 200 dollars
Yeah I'm pretty sure the x4 can do it. You wanna look for direct monitoring or low latency monitoring for mic
It's just something that they'll have on the spec sheet or brochure or website or whatever
Can you recommend any good combos ? And are they easy to set up have never really used separate mic/ headsets
The $50 earbuds and external mic is the best bang for buck but imo using earbuds for too long of a time can get irritating.
But wired is the way to go if you want good sound quality
Something like the Sennheiser 37x or 38x are way better than almost any wireless headset.
Okay thank you for the advice would you say that the 38x is better than the nova pro wired or any other in that price range ?
Yes.
Nova pro looks like it has sealing problems with the pads making bass inconsistent and also was some wacky treble.
Cloud 2 Wireless exists, but yeah
Or Audeze maxwell
Although from what I hear it takes some configuring and text neck usage aftermath
ik this is a long shot but does anyone have a working download for the dspmixfx software for windows i can't find it on the steinburg website
Hello people so I want to make "my own audio cable" (usb 2.0 to audio jack 3.5) would it work if I just solder those 2 things together or I need to do something else
Alright but at least it's possible
Go via one of these and you'll be fine
It's the apple usbc dac
It's cheap, good and works for pretty much everything
my pc doesn't have a usb c and I also want to make one my self learn my self some new things
You can resolder the usbc to usb a
you can get usb C to A adapters
Also you could just get a converter yes
Without soldering anything but you can if you want
I bet the wires in a dongle are super thin, i don't really wanna cut the end off one to find out though
I would just toss on a cramping sock and call it a day lol
They are but it's manageable
As long as they're not aluminum I guess 💀
I don't want to buy 5 things just to connect headphones to my pc anyways thanks for the help tho. I'll do some more research on this first
Its just 2 things
you'd be buying 10 trying to build one yourself
costing several times as much and sounding worse
instead of buying 2 items for a grand total of 15$
Thinking about buying these, any opinions?
And is onboard sound enough for that? Should I get a better sound card? I can't find the Ohm in the description on amazon
Can't even find any info on the sennheiser homepage, guess they are not for audiphiles, normal soundcard will be fine
bad
onboard sound? its a wireless headphone
That type is for people who can't hear the TV from the sofa clearly or just can't have the TV make noise. Not something most users get
Yeah and the station is connected to my normal soundcard but you have a point, any enhancer it needs is probably built in the station
the station isn't connected to your sound card
Of course it is
no it is not
it is a wireless headphone
the sound card is in the headphone itself
and is unrelated to any other sound card
Thanks for posting the english text
They are not even bluetooth
There is no bluetooth tech in these headphones
The station has to be connected to my pc
you are misunderstanding what eddie is posting
yes, they are 2.4ghz wireless
station isn't a sound card if you use them wireless
it is only used as a sound card if you connect your headphones wired through an analog connection
by which point you should be buying wired headphones anyways
Okay so I just watched an unboxing of them
And the station is definitely 100% wired connected to your tv/pc and is a sender station for the wireless headphones, you can connect up to 2 wireless headphones to that station
No
I don't care about your semantics, why do you want to argue with me
The sound card is in the headphone
I am trying very desperately to prevent you from trashing your money on a bad item and then on a sound card which will be of zero benefit
At this point honestly do whatever you want you clearly know better than all of us
I already said that yeah I don't have to buy one from the start
It is quite literally of no benefit
at all
the receiver has a sound card in itself for wired use and the headphone has one in it for wireless use
anyhow the headphone in itself is a bad item, you are better off buying a maxwell
Hmm gonna check out maxwell then, thanks, I was looking for sennheiser, akg, audio technica and jbl so far
jbl's only decent can I know of is tune 710
any other is horrendous
and the other companies don't really have wireless options apart from akg n700nc which is bluetooth and sennheiser only having very meh options
and if you have any desire to game with these you really want to avoid using bluetooth
windows bluetooth implementation is sort of a meme
so you have like a solid half second delay with bluetooth audio
That's what I guessed, already noticed when I used my bt in ears for a while
it can get so bad there is obvious lip desync, though streaming services can sometimes delay the video feed on purpose to have the video match
yeah
you need 2.4ghz for gaming certainly
maxwell is the best wireless 2.4 headphone I know of, cheaper is cloud 2 wireless
and other options are sort of direct downgrades
your call
40ms is lower than some wired setups
And the cloud 2 is dog water
Schlurp schlurp schlurp schlurp
Can anyone recommend a headset that has great sound quality and is comfy for a long period of time?
headset
great sound quality
pick one
you may find a headset with good sound quality, but not great
What's your budget
Hmm $140ish
You might be able to find a hd560s on sale which would literally be your best option. Otherwise get the akg k371.
This is that annoying reccomondation that isn't what you asked for, but I've found my SHP9500 the most comfy ever, even with glasses. To me it's worth needing a mic stand versus having a build in mic. (To be clear, SHP9500 is just a 1/8" stereo headphone, that probably needs a headphone AMP or DAC to drive it, so you'd still need a mic. But for comfort with glasses, never found anything close)
