It's contrast, which only a third of it comes from the brightness, the rest is black level and local dimming features (having perfect black and perfect white is cool, but if you can't have both at the same time it's useless)

But also color gamut and depth, more colors (doesn't mean more saturated), more accurate colors

Sadly a huge number of tv and monitors are sold has HDR ready when they are NOT HDR at all so a lot of people thinks it's bad, and even freaking devs have to be doing their games on those shit monitors creating shit HDR in the games ...

I spot some confusion I'll explain the terms you used first of all

a dac is a digital to analog converter, it makes audio information like that of an mp3 file or maybe an ogg on your computer and makes that into actual audio waves

after this is done, an amplifier in the form of a chip in your motherboard, amplifies that signal so it's strong enough to power your headphones

in either context, the dac or the amp can be a full on unit that is not simply a bunch of chips in your motherboard, in which case you might benefit in audio quality from

vinyl's have grooves, to make a vinyl primitively, you take a vibration in the air, aka a sound, and make a needle move with that vibration while the vinyl record is rotating, engraving the vibration into the vinyl, when you take a vinyl and place it into your turntable, you reverse that process, instead of engraving vibrations from outside, you vibrate your needle using the grooves which are engraved, so there is no need for a dac since there is no digital information present

depending on your record player/turntable, you will need an amplifier

the vibrations retrieved from your turntable are not exactly similar to the original as a side effect of how the vibrations are transmitted, as such you will need a phono preamplifier that makes the audio output into how it's supposed to be when it comes to turntables/record players

modern turntables/record players, generally have a phono preamplifier integrated into themselves, in which case you already have a phono preamp built into your system, you can just get a simple amplifier and that will allow you to connect your headphones into your record player, in case you don't have a phono preamp built in, you will either need to get a system that has both a phono preamplifier + amplifier, or both of them integrated, for headphone amps to my knowledge there is none with phono preamp integration, so having a phono preamp might be a necessity if you want to connect your headphones
