Which to be fair it is nice that am had it at like no extra charge for a while
I think I kind of can but it’s something I have to be actively listening for
And I think in a blind test I might not get all of them right
But yeah, going to try balanced cable and if not satisfied getting me a proper amp
It's cornhub.com
But actually nexgen mentioned the name somewhere in this convo
there
Spicetify
Could you use a guitar amp for headphones? LOL
no idea if I could
probably not
especially as the only headphone I have is a HD650
Someone talk me out of selling plasma to buy the warwick bravura.
Your no help. I can't find a bad review of these.
Do it, to become an a-hole who flexes their stuff
That better?
What
Like
Your blood plasma?
Yeah
my audio somethimes in a week is way softer then normal how can i fix that
@molten lotus jesus fuck I only just now got my zen dac back
ikr
not much to talk about when I dont have any decent audio gear to use
this whole time I have been using my dt880 out of a umc22
was not the best experience let me tell you that
EQd the 8-10k treble down a fair bit and these sound so nice now, damn
why the fuck did I not do this previously :DDD
lmao
all the sharp fatiguing treble is gone
Looking to get a headset for my ps4. Preferably not over $60 and I don’t care if it’s wired or not. Feel free to ping
I wonder why reducing treble on a beyer helped making it sound less fatiguing
pedals? absolutely. Why? no reason
it's more whether you know what to look for
is BRAVIA Acoustic Center Sync worth using so i can just use the tv as a center speaker
try it out and see if you like it
im asking before i buy, hopefully best buy got something, it works with sony's soundbars and receivers
I mean if you're using a TV's speaker as a center channel it's gonna be worse than a normal center channel
but its cheaper up front and its really funny how the screen vibrates to pretend to be a speaker
Okay
Question: currently running hd600 + EU apple dongle, is a £100-150 dac/amp worth the upgrade?
Got a decent deal on a used hd600 with new pads, originally out of apple dongle didnt sound like a huge leap over what I had before, but as my ears have adjusted they sound quite magical to the point where im questioning if I even need a dedicated dac/amp
Volume wise theyre fine out of the apple dongle, just wasnt sure if im missing out on anything from splashing out on a dedicated dac/amp, 100% aware that it wont change the frequency response unless its a spectacularly shit dac, but I dont really want a changed frequency response
Just wasnt sure if theres any more detail to be had out of these with a dedicated dac/amp setup, or if the apple dongle is enough to get the majority of the technical ability out of these headphones
I also have a desktop with asus supremefx (uses an ess sabre dac of some kind), that drives the hd600s more than adequately volume wise, I think one of the topping dacs shares the same chip, so that might have equal performance, but desktop is a bit noisy
there's not any hidden detail or anything that would be unlocked
if you want extra power headroom and a knob to turn for fun you can use the dongle as a dac plugged into an amp
I see, so the dac portion of the apple dongle is pretty much perfectly adequate for anything
(Within reason)
it is yeah it measures clean
I see yeah that makes me debate buying a dac then lol
I sorta bought them budgeting for one, but I had an apple dong from my iems and thought "eh worth a shot"
Didnt expect it to get to a decent listening volume
(Admittedly around 70% ish)
Well 60-70
Is what I would consider the loudest id go for comfortable
If you're happy with the volume the only reason to get a new amp would be for changing the sound slightly.
Something like a tube amp
Yeah I see, atm im perfectly happy with what im hearing sound signature wise
Its more if they were being held back technically by such a cheap dongle
naw
having analog volume control is nice though
it's fun and software volume control is inconvenient without a dedicated keyboard knob or something
Yeah that would be a nice to have imo, but yeah I could just get a nice amp and run it off of the apple dongle
And then I have the headroom for pretty much anything
Though I think after spending what I did on hd600 im not gonna buy anything else for a while lol
a damn skeeter bit me
Ouch
unforgivable transgression
Swat it and show it whos boss
if i locate it then i surely will
i think it was in the bathroom earlier because i left the window open
Holding back is the wrong way of thinking about it. You're never gonna have 100% of the headphones potential. What's gonna happen is that better source equipment simply sounds better. Sometimes you have those benefits synergize with headphones you get something really cool.
I think I'm butchering it, but someone on crinacles server said the headphones are the multiplier and the amp/DAC are the scaler.
Something like that.
shillacle
I see that makes sense
I was expecting to hear more subtle background details then I did when trying them
But the detail on stuff like cymbals
Oh my god its like a thin layer of felt being lifted compared to my m40xs lol
Other people say better amps are like a better pair of shoes, I think they're more like changing the finish of the headphones.
Even with the cheap apple dongle
apple dongle is valid dont poop on it
That sounds about right.
Idk m40x felt a bit muddy, dt770s were too harsh, hd600s are just right I wouldnt change them a bit
Apple dongle is valid. But there's also a reason why so many people stick with hd600s and then just spend all their money on amps.
I can deal with the muddiness tho, dt770s ima sell I really dont get on with the treble spikes
Yeah I guess tube amps etc would make more sense then
And just keep the apple dongle as a good "transparent" dac
But I dont think ima invest in tube amps for a while if at all
coolest things about having an amp are knobs are fun and you get volume headroom so that you can use eq
Yeah a dedicated volume knob would be a bonus
eq doesnt bother me too much ive never been a huge fan of it
i never liked it either until i started using eq profiles made by other people targeting specific tunings
instead of just guessing myself not really knowing what im doing
what i use now is pretty minimal though it's mostly just fixing the ear gain region on my various stuff
Yeah I did try some autoeqs with my other headphones, they sounded okay but I always felt they took away a lot of the "life" of the headphone
Im not that experienced with eq tho so if thats to do with me not being adjusted to it or not quite getting the volumes matched is up for debate

hd600 dont need eq anyway
maybe a bass shelf on occasion but its tonality is good out of box
Needs 1.6k dip
keep your dip to yourself
I'll dip you
I'm actually a bit surprised with the bass I was expecting a lot earlier roll off
But I seem to be quite bass sensitive

This card part of the AEX series from Creative Labs so far rocks; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073HT4GM4?tag=pcpapi-20&linkCode=ogi&th=1
The Sound BlasterX AE-5 is a SABRE32 Ultra Class Hi-Resolution PCIe Gaming Sound Card and DAC with Xamp, a brand new discrete headphone amp utilizing bi-amplification technology. nah
I am havin some issues with my mic setup.
scarlett solo 3rd gen --> Neet worker bee gen 1
It will be fine for about 4 hours before it starts making a really weird noise which I have included an mp3 of the sound it makes.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
audio newbie here
should I do low or high gain on my fiio amp?
does the high gain affect the sound
try both and tell us

idk what you want man. you got both options right in front of you and can easily test this for yourself.
but im no audiophile
so it's hard for me to see the differences sometimes
Low gain puts less amplification on and is generally less likely to produce hiss or distortion, but may be too quiet for some headphone/source combinations.
Go with low gain unless you need high gain
Thank you for the answer
Unless you're on last gen or older schiit products (dunno if the new ones are fixed)
where low gain actually sounds worse than high gain
what if you are using something so sensitive you can't use it on high gain
I max out my gain and have my Windows volume to 1%
That way I can lock the bit depth to 1 bit and enjoy a pseudo dsd
Oh right there was that thing
I meant moreso in eqapo
set a negative pregain
forgot windows did that...
But then there's also don't set to 100 because it can clip, the best is 95 or smth
guys , when i plug in my headphones to my computer they dont work , or only the audio does . I tried to plug it in everything but it just wont work. Does any1 know what i could to to fix it ? ( my headphones work fine on my laptop and mobile phone)
If you mean the microphone, then you'd need to find a way to split the microphone cable out of the current jack
you can try restarting ur pc or updating ur drivers
Because I'm assuming that your headset uses a combo jack and your PC does not have one
So i am trying to make a bluetooth integrated mp3 player so that I can use my wireless headphones to listen to songs and drown out the noise of my other annoying classmates, is that at all possible, cant find much online....
Regarding the Audeze Maxwell P, it says it runs Bluetooth and not WiFi. Afaik, this means that bi-directional high quality audio is NOT possible. So using the microphone at the same time as listening to music makes everything sound like dog poo.
Is this also true on this headset? If so, I'll have to cancel my order.
it also has a 2.4ghz dongle which doesnt have the bandwidth limitation of bluetooth
you cant use the dongle mode?
it isn't
you've just misinterpreted information
Ok. Thank you!
you can't use bluetooth and dongle at the same time tho which is the main limitation
since there's only one wireless chip doing both
although that doens't really matter outside of console gaming
Finally someone was stupid enough to buy my denon ah-d5000 for 270 euros

nvm he backed out after figuring out he lived 300km away
💀
btw I think I got them to actually sound neutral
but I ran out of stuff to put in them
time to head to the store to buy random damping materials to fuck around with
Start with peanut butter
maybe I need to toilet water mod them
use marshmallow fluff
nah, use asbestos
Hi,
can an XLR cable affect the volume of a dynamic mic?
If so, which one should I buy?
I've been dealing with an abnormally quiet microphone for a year now. Well, after a month I gave up and my friends boosted me on Discord, but even then I'm quieter...
Windows, the sound system and Discord are at max, but I'm still very quiet. I use a Behringer XM8500 microphone with an Audient EVO 4 interface.
It just now dawned on me that I hadn't tried a different XLR cable. I figured three wires couldn't be the problem... I looked at the reviews of that cable (Stagg SMC6) and a few users had the same problem. Amazon seems to sell an identical cable under their Basics brand that has the same reviews in a larger number.
So should I replace it? If so, for which one?...? I've heard some people make their own cables, but if Stagg can't make a good cable, I don't have much faith myself...
Thank you ❤
XLR should never affect volume unless it's broken/beyond terrible
If other users are reporting the same issue though that could indicate a faulty cable
Any tips on a good brand? I don't want to fall in trap of paying 50€ for a cable.
Try Van Damme or Mogami
I use kirlin but mogami is good
Thanks guys
Sadly I cannot find those in my region.
what region?
Czech
Are you sure your xlr mic doesn't require phantom power
Oh it doesn't need it since it's a dynamic microphone
- Do you have it pointed correctly at your face
- Are you close enough to your microphone
- Is Windows messing with the gain
- Have you tried plugging your interface into another computer
@alpine musk
It should be impossible for an expensive cable to make a difference
- Yes
- Yes (10cm?)
- How?
- No.
Buying a new cable is likely a waste of money
Are you using windows 10 or 11
Win 10
Check if it's on 100%
It is.
It says that mos detected volume was 5%. Bruh
Have a XM8500 and an Evo 8.
The mic is about 2-4 cms from my mouth.
You should also be able to select Automatic Gain Control in Discord to help boost it.
Do you have same issues?
This?
As long as its close to your mouth (about 3cm if that) and automatic gain set in Discord it should be absolutely fine.
Yes that. See how it sounds using the test function.
Sometimes I have had to toggle the Noise Suppression off then on (though usually if that is playing up no sound comes through).
Can we call? It seems its cutting off my words and still silent-ish
Sorry its nearly midnight and I should long since in bed.
Cutting off your words sounds like the Noise Gate. Try turning it off and see if it is any better.
For sanity sake check your Gain is on full (so press what ever number it is connected to and turn the main knob all the way clockwise)
Also you could try recording in Windows own Sound Recorder to remove Discord from the equation for fault finding.
I snuck into some voice room on random server and "harrased" them 😄 XD
"You are whispering, but it sounds like you are talking at normal volume"
Thanks a lot. Idk if its a new feature in Discord...or I might have not hear the difference as you described the bug where it doesnt affect it until you re-toggle NS.
Thanks
How are we feeling about the IE-600 from senn?
its tuning isnt good enough to justify its price
how close are you to the mic
yo what is the best usb or wireless gaming headset around 100
i have razer barracuda. not my recommendation, but its not obviously a 'gaming' headset so you can wear it in public.
Really really?
Its so wild to hear different opinions on headphones and iems. It really foes to show you how subjective the audio market is
which dac is better
- zen dac
- zen dac air
- topping e30 II
requirements:
- not be massive
- support hd560s and also allow me to connect a pair of monitors later
- work with linux well
zen air is decent
zendac v2 is more powerful with the balanced output but you don't really need that with hd560s
which is the best option here
also which will give best upgradablity too
I plan to get some very nice studio monitors and when I have a job, the hd560s will be replaced
what about the e30 II?
topping trash
I found a thread where people compared the two
avoid
My observations between the New E30 which I recently bought and the existing Zen Dac:
E30 sounds more cleaner and let's the sound come in as it is.
Zen dac has a preference signature which maybe be good or bad depending on the listener.
E30 is a bit forward sounding and the Zen dac is laid...
Considered the Magni and modi stack?
asr has an uh
too expensive in my budget unfortunately
also I dont really need to amplify the hd560s
I listen to them around 30-40% out of my motherboard anyway
hence why I recommended zen air which is weaker than v2
it just sounds bad on Linux
what
Everyone has a reputation
i don't think that is possible
that is what volume does
i thought i was making it up but its a night and day difference
test that after volume matching
even at a louder volume it doesnt sound good
I have A/B'd this
both sources are the same tidal plan
what is the best wireless headset under 150
gaming headset?
yes
why not just get a good music headphone and use a mic

nah
Perish
was this in agreeement w/ me?
Yes
gaming headsets are overpriced for mediocre audio
I'm rocking my HD560s and it destroys every gaming headset I ever used

If you have the space for a dedicated heaphone and mic definitely get them seperate
You'll be much happier
But if you for sure decide tyo still go headset
Lets see.....
Currently 129
pc38x good
Meets your budget
not wireless but wireless audio is trash
Agreed
I only use it on my XM4 for convienience sake
when I have the funds eventually I would like to get a very high end headphones
like dan clark aeon
If he wants tio go cheaper
37x is only 100
this and the hd600 are my dream
I wanted tyo like the DC headphones
i want a good closed back
in summer I have to resort to my suboptimal XM4s

Edifier R1280T
are these good for gaming/movies?
It works
Prob good enough
and what about logi Z625?
Bad
shockingly decent for the price
if you can stretch to R1700, get those
if you can't. 1280 will do fine
Edifier R1700bt or Edifier R1700bts?
Do you want to pay $20 for the ability to use a subwoofer
would it improve the experience?
Can anyone recommend me a good low budget surround sound system for gaming? (For use in games like war thunder)
ehhh prob yes, prob no?
subwoofer at that price point is usually just a thing that push lots of air
aeon is midfi no? i thought it was 1k
i did really like aeon noire
you won't like either of them lmao
maybe the hd600 a bit
DCA nay, HD600 yay
HD600 needs a dedicated chain to get good tho
What would be the most "easiest way" to apply VST plugins on microphone audio and then routing it to Discord voice call?
Don't need studio-grade DAW. Just need options to get some gain or compress it, maybe cut of background noise.
Or no options, but capability to add VST. Found Speachy to be pretty robust and friendly: https://www.neverdieaudio.com/
equalizer apo
Discord has a noise gate/automatic gain.
Or as above run equaliser APO which is system wide.
i would do the latter
also bluetooth is not functional for gaming/communication while on computer
unless you are going wired that's a terrible option
wireless headsets will not work the same way
those have dedicated 2.4ghz dongles
and wireless will always be subpar to wired in the same price bracket
audeze maxwell is the best wireless headset for the time being
Bluetooth headsets have quite the latency, shouldn't use it for games really
also, XM5 is worse than XM4
Uh oh, what did Sony do?
I have the XM3s for commuting (when I ride the noisier trains in the Boston, MA area) and for plane travel.
They also work really well when road tripping and you want a nap.
Our car is not great at sound deadening.
XM5 vs XM4 is just
XM5 has worse sound, and about the same ANC performance, does not fold so less portable and costs more
also less comfortable because the headband is thinner...
could sort of say ANC might be like 1% better, but its slightly better in some regions and slightly worse in others...
but here its 100 euro more for worse performance and worse build, so why
I chose the XM3 vs the Bose option at the time because the ANC and because if you set the equalizer right the XM3 were more neutral than the Bose and sounded better.
I don't remember what Bose model I was comparing to at the time, this was 3-4 years ago.
I would currently get QC45 if I got any honestly
specifically because still pretty balanced sound, even if its worse than N700NCM2, but the ANC is good..
XM3 and XM4 are fine-ish, bit too warm and muddy still imo
then you've got XM5 which is just bass boosted mud
Yeah, the XM series has always been a bit of a mess out of the box, but it can be tuned to be better with the equalizer.
other than xm5
But I don't know anything about the XM5 (didn't even know we'd iterated that far).
just overall a lot more mud
much worse design anyway...
no point
XM4 is still sold as well
agreed
but honestly
its anc is incredible
I've been very happy with my XM3s.
I will not be replacing until they start failing.
Also, still have excellent battery life.
i take my XM4s everywhere bc of the amazing ANC
if I ever start to feel overwhelmed by the noise, I can just put them on and the world practically goes silent
OH LAWD HE THICC
Servo or bust
fucking hell that was chonk
Nvidia has something for it. But removing noise isn't exactly easy. Pretty much gotta use AI.
what sub is that? it looks massive
I am interested in what you do that you have access to such a space and get to show these updates.
It looks like store or show room, I assume, based on the other sound treated rooms as well.
he does headphone reviews and this is one of his house room
I need recommendations for a headset that has a good mic and sound quality for around 100 bucks…you can @ me
cloud ii
Is that a usb mic or aux
I remember seeing one but I thought it was usb for some reason
3.5mm connectivity
pc37x or pc38x
Considering the pc37x if I can find on sale
Damn wanted to rent the dynacaster and try it out but closest store with it is an hour away
SVS SB-16 Ultra

Watched the video on the KEF visit.
Well done.
Oh hey, it's the guy who exposed "MQA" 👀
Really good watch. I'm not too into audio, but it was explained well enough that even a joe like me would understand the underlying issue xD
yeee
It could be summarized as: "it was falsely advertised"
didn't really have much benefit over existing codecs like vbr aac or opus
because it wasn't actually lossless
it used the container FLAC uses, but it's equivalent to upscaling an mp3 into a FLAC where you dont get the benefits of a properly lossless compressed FLAC
From what I understood, didn't MQA actually add artifacts you wouldn't have in a normal 44.1kHz or 48kHz AAC/Opus/MP3?
Because of all the stuffing higher frequency data into the lower frequencies?
this is the same case as upscaling any lossy file
Thing with lossy codecs is that once you compress them, they're done.
any more changes just loses quality
True. I'd expect compression to more just discard information, not add new stuff that wasn't there before tho...
unlike with wav/FLAC where if you decide to switch FLAC to alac for Apple, you don't lose anything
lossy compression discards data
Yeah
lossless compression retains all data
That too
Which is what flacs are
and FLAC is just a container for wav
so you can go wav to FLAC and vice versa without losing quality
Gotta love that one blu-ray in my collection with a Linear PCM audio track. Guess that also classifies as wav?
not exactly but basically yes
Wav is the wrapper for pcm
if that makes sense
Pcm is the data, wav is the format it's placed in, then is transferred to FLAC or some other compressed codec be it lossy or not because wav can be huge
Mhm. Makes sense
good or no?
no
isn't schitt audio good
yah they make some good stuff but that isn’t one of them
so what DAC should I be looking at @unique wind
hey guys a friend of mine has a pair of g432 headphones he just bought and when he has 7.1 surround enabled it has a lot of reverb (I had this problem a few years back with a pair of hypex headphones and I just ended up swithing them for a different pair). anyone here know a fix for it?
don't use the 7.1
Oh man, not shit RCA cables make such a difference on a 20' run.
High notes are back
20 feet?
and you're not running balanced?
ballsy
None of my current stuff does balanced and I don't want to replace everything.
The random crap cables I've had kicking around for 20 years sounded like crap though, those needed replaced.
were they damaged or something
being old shouldnt really matter rca is an ancient standard
Really thin, and the connectors on the ends were loose
given they're random (presumably bad) cables, at that length it can actually make a big difference
RCA connector hasn't changed yes, but cable quality has
Anything high frequency was really muddy with them
zen air dac
pros and cons please
I wanna do research into stuff before buying it in future
good dac, weak but quality amp
if you want a cheap amp with a lot of power the schiit magni is good
for a dac all you need is an apple usb c to 3.5mm dongle and a 3.5mm to dual rca cable
if you want good sound get the zendac, if you want standard quality sound get the apple dongle
its as good as a modi
or if you dont have usb c on your pc a dongle with a "cx31993" chipset will usually come with a usb c to usb a adapter
woops im still on uk amazon i forgot
@unique wind don't like dongles I want it to be proper and give me room for future proofing
Anyone have any $50 speaker recommendations
(Creative pebbles won't work for me)
Would love inputs
Would a HyperX solocast be a good deal as streaming/video recording mic if I can get new one for $35?
Wait nvm US msrp is already around that
Why am I even asking its a 50% discount 😄
Schiit modi and magni then
Seiren mini for the same price is much better
Anyone know where to find wall mounts for a Klipsch R-50m? It's got 3/8" screw holes on the back for mounting but I can't find any mounts with that size.
Anyone know how I can get my Asus B550-A to recognise my turtlebeach recon 70 headset mic, I have a splitter from the single 3.5mm headset jack into the pink and green ports on the back of the mobo, I get game audio and voice chat audio but there's no output from my mic, the headset works perfectly fine on my PS4, I've tried connecting the gamepad to the PC but I don't get any audio from the jack
Could you please provide examples of how its much better, please? I looked at some reviews and comparisons and it seems the sound is virtually indistuingushable, while the solocast gets things like mute button over it.
How’s the xtrfy h2 pro’s headset
Hey Guys, quick question astro a30 or a40
Funnily enough, that’s actually the sm7b with 0 eq

Lmao
at the price it's pretty okay, IMO seiren mini sounds better but if you need the mute switch, it's not bad
Seiren mini is a bit less harsh in the upper regions
1 sounds a bit nasally, prefer 2
This is why I don't get the hate for the sm7b
actually funny cause I specifically lowered the db by like 5 in the nasal regions on 1
the hate for the sm7b comes from people bass boosting it and shoving it down their mouth
yes
not rly
if you run it on flat mode it's just boring not fatiguing
it's from streamers who can't tune a mic for schiit
theres on youtuber I know and I swear his voice is straight up cocoa beans dark
i mean i run my mic extremely dark too
that said, sm7b doesn't work for every voice
i have -12db from 2khz on upward lmao
like this guy ran an at2035 and still sounded like some fucking dark chocolate
more like -8 when you account for the mic's natural presence boost
I just kind of want to make my sm7b a bit brighter and crisper
it works best for bass - tenor voices
any higher and there's much better options
ive been thinking of trying out a dynacaster but the only music store with it in stock is 1 hour away
and even then, IMO there's better options
sell it and buy earthworks ethos
wa47jr >
people should be required to have some kind of license in order to buy a sm7b
apples to oranges
mmmm that would be around an extra $200, SM7B sells for $350 CAD here (if you're lucky and someone actually wants to buy one) and an Ethos is $540
I just hope that my nearby Long and Mcquade gets some dynacasters soon so I can rent it for a week and try it out
I don't think it's happening for a bit
cause sadly, they dont rent out anything from Earthworks or EV
takes them like 2 months at a time to restock anything
so cant even try an Ethos or RE20
dynacaster doesnt look like something id want
i dont want a mic having a built in highpass or presence boost, let me do that myself
unless I want to drive up to Brampton for it lmao
I ordered my first bass guitar, a TRBX174EW from them two years ago from them because it was out of stock in the nearby stores and I wanted a 24 fret
it took literally 3 months to ship

when its computer or audio stuff, I always go in person
i try to use amazon for everything if the pricing is similar
worth it tho I love my bass
always comes in like 2 days and returns are extremely painless
ive had my fair share of Amazon return problems
everything ive bought directly from retailers has been a pain in the ass to return
the dumbest thing is when places wont allow you to return headphones that have been opened
it no joke took me 6+ months and like 12 emails before klipsch would take their broken soundbar back and give me a new one
earbuds sure
but headphones
bro why tf am I gonna buy headphones, not use them, then return
sanitary reasons
unless you got some really nasty hair I dont see a problem with headphones
you can never know
headphones normally don't hold their value
your hand is probably worse tbh
my hands nah but the average person yeah probably
but it's not worth risking lice or something
i wash my hands after every time that i touch something unclean and i sanitize my phone every day
i wont even touch a pet without washing right after
mhm
everything has a chemical structure yes
but i dont wanna touch any of my stuff if my hands smell like dog
hi anyone knows any earphones that have similar quality as the g pro x headset

It's true, the android app screws it up. He is redeemed.
<@&750150305383186585>yokosuka
.......
That wasn't me! I'm outta here!
yokosuka?
I made sure I selected the other guy
It's this user @warm canopy
AHHHHHHH
modyokosuka
On mobile it tags you and doesn't fill the name in properly, Discord is slacking.
This is clearly audio related because I hear the words I type in my head...
I'm gone 🥷☁️
something evil is lurking in the dark
you try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it
And then you see him, it's Shia LaBeouf
Is it a 2003 Chevy express
<@&750150305383186585>yokosuka Finnaly we can talk again, long time no seen friend. How are you? 🤗
I don't like all these strangers in audio chat.
ive been here before
guys, mods will warn you
alot
Yeah but you're pink
Contact discord
or just warn me again
oops, 🪕
you dont have to pay me for free testing
its on the house
I would like to respond to the warning and say that there is a legitimate issue with the android mobile app here, if you have one available to test you'll see. It even showed the updated name but for some reason still pinged you guys. I'm not certain, but it's possible that people with just "mod" in the start of the name on android mobile will ping the mod role.
I won't test it since obv that's not what you want, but it might be something for you to look at.
This also isn't the channel for it, so I'm sorry for participating lol
its not really a problem because the guy who youre trying to ping doesnt even exist anyway
Even so, doing it over and ove isnt the way to test it, There are people with resources and time stuff. If you have legitimate concern then its fine, but we dont like being pinged over and over
and the guy you were trying to ping hasnt said a word in a billion years.
True but that could mean anybody could change their name to start with mod and then people on android would randomly ping the mods
thats not anything we can solve really
You removed his mod nickname so it was only his tag modyokosuka - so thought you had tested it & it was safe
it's just part of the usertag update change ig
youve literally never talked to the person, and i dont see how this is relevant here, so please keep this chat on topic
I don't care about that guy, I was just sending the feelers for @primal fulcrum 's bullshit and got stuck in a trap
yall instigating fr
if it aint broken, dont change it @molten lotus
pinging a dude that sent four messages in 2019 just to ping mods repeatedly
I'm gone for real 🥷 🌩️
haha sorry bout that
cya
🥷🌩️
no, that never happent
you're rewriting history michael
yo mama

what if someone Tries/wants to tag/ping our server member with user the username modanny ?
what about people with the 3 characters mod in the middle of the namez maybe thats not cursed
this is so interesting
Guess I'm forced to buy a ipone or laptop to tag my friends in this server 😔
Make a new server and test it, then send a screenshot to the discord people
bug bounty
You wish
If you're interested in listening ( #audio-tech ) - it's only usertags that includes "mod" with small "m" btw. Not big "M" as in "Mod"
See #screenshots for reference
EDIT@ could also be all new usertags with "mod" in it, & old Modxxxx#1234 still is pingable on android
theres nothing they can do man
they cant prevent people from having "mod" in their username
just like u cant permanently ban anyone
They could rename "mod" to "moderator" or "mods" to filter out a lot of those names
ive been an active user in here since 2017 and today with you guys is the first time i remember seeing anyone have this issue
That's the only option I see
it's a new issue
It is a very niche thing, and will probably be fixed by discord
I have tagged modszark * before(on android 99% sure), & I don't think I can anymore. #screenshots
XB950BT best headphones btw.
ewewew
skullcandy crusher evo on max wack is best headphone clearly
really?
Never tried skullcandy
no
sounds like toys
its one of the worst headphones
bulit like toys too i think

Rempuh would probably like it
@lean grove
Damn you're right

now all I need is a nice tasteful sub, nothing insane I dont want just mega bass everthing
90% sure that most who are into audio would quit if this weren't a proper channel anymore...
at which point the "help" will be ur avg consumer level (both just average consumer and the youtuber...)
can anyone recommend me a not too expensive headset that is not over ear, but also not call center garbage?
just really not a fan of the feeling of over ear for extended periods of time, its just hot and stuff, dont love it
I used to have a logitech H390 for many years, was quite happy with it until the cable (mic) recently broke, i bought the exact same one but they turned the sound quality into hot garbage
i dont care if its wired or not
Koss porta pro communication headset or ksc75x. Theyook like call center garbage but they're some of the best headphones under $100.
plastic on the top? that cant be comfy
or is it
I havent tried anything that clips on your ears like that second one
get open backs
no more heat issues
better idea than buying on ears
budget?
also keep in mind nil's recommendation is likely the play for better heat control
what I will recommend will have better heat control than other headphones you've likely tried but it will make the problem better at most
you can also consider in ears which will be the better choice here for heat
They're super light weight. I barely notice them except when I'm wearing glasses cuz it gets crowded up there.
I have not
budget is like.. I mean I'm not a man of expensive peripherals, just what is necessary
the fact that I owned a H390 should tell you enough xd
if 110-130$ is somewhere you aren't really wanting to go
nil's recommendation or in ears are the solution
I recommend in ears I am not a fan of ksc75 because of how light the bass is
but it's still a good item regarding everything else
in ears is what you call those headphones that u get with phones sometimes?
yeah
well
phone stuff is generally earbuds that hang on your ears
not stuff that goes into your ears
if they have a silicone tip they are in ears, if they don't they are earbuds
the microphones built into cables for in ear monitors are better than gaming headsets tbh
i have these and I have found them to be very uncomfortable xd
yah true i used to have one iem in and the other wrapped around my neck so the mic wouldn’t move around
there is great varience within the in ear market
there exists a hundred different in ear tips
and in ear chassis
if you buy consumer trash yeah it will probably not be good
you should at least give a half decent one a try
im liking the open back headphones idea
will shop around to see if theres something nice
decent open backs start around 110-120$
you wont be getting anything decent by randomly shopping

there's some phillips stuff at around 80$ tbh now that i think about it
but they compare very badly to better open backs
hey nerds recommend good bluetooth headphones that wont make me go bankrupt
Samsung is forcing me to ditch my totally fine and functional wired headphones
Ananda Bluetooth headphones from hifiman.
does anyone have a good suggestion for a recording microphone that will be used for orchestral playing or small string group playing? im thinking of using a omnidirectional mic so i can capture everything but im looking for a lower price range. i also do not have or want other audio recording stuff, i just need something to connect to my phone, or record by itself and save files on its own. ive so far found that the razer seiren bt is perftect in what i need but idk if its good. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/razer-seiren-bt-wireless-omnidirectional-microphone/6496583.p?skuId=6496583
why must voice meter be so difficult
it really isn't
it took me 5 minutes for me to set up and start using
I'd avoid this, if you just want a handy recorder and don't plan to use external mics on it, Tascam DR05x has the best built in mics of its price class (about 100 bucks flat if not cheaper). And can record to pc and if your phone/tablet supports interfaces, those too
what's your budget for a mic
cause IMO if you're low budget or don't want "extra" audio equipment, assuming your phone's mic isn't absolutely horrible it'll suffice
cant you just shove a dongle on the phone?
Does anyone know a Sound Blaster X7 equivalent DAC that has multimedia functions but is a 32-bit version? I have a sound blaster x7 and the E-MU speakers and looking for an upgrade.
how does the SMSL VMV A2 look
Thats a hefty upgrade! I like the sleek look and the outputs on it. Although for 1K, I'll have to save up a good penny. The specs on it are no joke.
the vmv a1 is a bit cheaper but is just a standalone amp.
The dedicated remote control is very nice!
Yeah im trying to look for an audiofile all in one setup.
ah. burson also has stuff like that
I mean, I could buy the speakers separate.
That burson setup is pretty nifty!
So whats a good mulltimedia DAC and AMP combo?
@lean grove what of the AT2020? What do you think of that product?
overhyped but fine
but, i mean, the good thing about mics is that there's lots of sound reviews out there
where you can hear exactly how they sound
go watch some podcastage sound demos and determine for yourself if you think somethings worth the money
👍
The difference between two mics is hard to decern if you just listen to a sample with one voice
How are the sennheiser hd200pro or the superflux hd660pro32 for a 100$ aud budget?
@lean grove even my dad knows that i have a point
This looks like a meme where you repost two of the same images
yah they’ve hardly changed the design at all in 20 years
Only difference I see is the windows because doors
no need to alter perfection
hello ! there
new here 🖐️
I'm using Gitpod, which is a cloud-based integrated development environment (IDE) that runs in a web browser. I want to establish a connection between my browser (client) and the Gitpod server to enable audio streaming for applications that require GUI, speaker, and microphone support. I have already set up VNC, but I'm unsure about the next steps. I've heard about using ALSA for audio, but I would appreciate any suggestions or assistance in this matter. Thank you!
I call it hyper inefficient piece of garbage basically no one should buy for personal use
That’s a work transport vehicle
that is exactly what it is yes
it already is what you want it to be
People still buy them as personal vehicles for some reason
Same for american trucks
Honestly wish they would kinda just limit those vehicles to those actually making use of it..
A truck transporting 1 maybe 2 people with 2 bags in the back is just…
not really that's pretty uncommon
trucks yeah but not those vans
Personally only know one who has one like such, but he trains dog for competitions, so the back is just filled with dog cages
Bit shorter tho
hello fellow music peopl
Oi
hi
that's conpin's least favorite part
Swiffer is $3
i'm trying to make my g432 sound like 2004 cod mw xbox live chat, how do i do that
voice changer
I'd recommend not getting it
it's harsh in the treble and there's better mics for a similar cost
boost audio by 30dB
and then boost it by -30dB
set the sample rate to 8000hz in the windows sound control panel
you can also add a high shelf filter in the negatives to make sure no high frequency normally used to distinguish human speech would pass through
how
lmao 4000hz lowpass
i have no idea how speakers work besides thing vibrates to make noise
Anyone have recommendations for a ps4 headset? Trying to stay under $60 and I'm currently looking at the astro A10 gen 2s.
depends on how dedicated you are
if you can spend 20 minutes watching an equalizer apo tutorial you should be good to go
so i opened windows sound control panel and now i can hear myself, how do i turn that off
thank you
how
Ah yes very helpful
if i boost to 30 then boost to -30 it will be either -30 or 0, no?
also i for some reason have to use bing so i get no good results
when you make an image into 360p from 1080p, does it remain 1080p when you upscale it back?
use your preferred software of choice
cuz bing wont help
ask chatgpt
.
What would you recommend? I am looking to get mics on either memory express or best buy
lol for 100 euros you can get a behringer UM2 interface and C1 mic
what is your use case
Home and lecture use (lecture use is in theory)
I can live without using one for lecture recording
is there a way to do funny mic on equalizer apo
what's your budget and is your room echo-y at all
Hey guys, I'm looking for a microphone, nothing fancy and set and forget style, just for work, Google meet and discord calls, do you guys think that the blue yeti nano is a solid choice?
i would go with the razer seiren mini
or the fifine k669, whichever is cheaper
The razer as far as I know doesn't have audiojack output, I think the monitoring would be great, idk about the fifine yet
are there any good tube amplifiers that isn't like over $400
Nope
Bottlehead crack
If you can do some DIY
It was worth asking, thanks
what for?
place one of these on top of your amp and put a dim orange light bulb in it
unless you do DIY decent tube amps are super expensive
problem solved
"I decided to probe for myself the reputation of the Crack/Senn combo (I was already familiar with other Bottlehead gear, so the reputation preceded my Crack adventure). Fun, fun, and FUN! There's a "sound" there, for sure, and it's just a lovely thing. And it has been more than just the sonic experience that I've enjoyed. The Crack is just a lo...
if they used a darker wood for that it’d look nice
the thing that made every sonic visions user sell their kilobuck tube amps
its diy
use whatever you want
dark wood supremacy
too slow Nils
Mines darker
an upgrade kit
yes what does it do
for the crack
I think it's a separate power supply for the tube heaters
read the website
costs you more money
It seems pretty ambiguous
I have
it doesn't really say what the upgrade is supposed to result in
it just mentions one component that was changed with another
it enables you to look down on the people wiothout it
basically
sounds good
https://bottlehead.com/product/single-ended-experimenters-kit-3-0-for-headphones-sensitive-speakers/
I'm going to make a tube amp and call it Jenkum
a friend of mine would be very happy to hear you know of that substance
he makes it from time to time
im going to make a tube amp kit and call it kum
it opens his third eye
The amount of times I've heard about it for HD6x0...
I've heard about it for the hd800.
I kinda just want the single ended experimenter for the fact that it can drive speakers at a desktop.
Would be cool.
What do you guys think of the focal aria 906?
Just buy a topping
Oh well that's just a troll
I got smsl
Maybe the worst measuring smsl headphone amp and the best measuring smsl DAC 🦭
Best combo
How much sinad for the dac ?
123
Wtf
There's a couple of small dacs which have higher. But it's less than 1 db of sinad difference
Well above human audition anyway
Yes. Clean meme.
Or below *
Oh well you understood
Above, below, behind, between, inside everything is cool anyway
I mainly use my Denon AVR x3700h which doesn't have the greatest dac but it's the same for all AVR ...
this is some goofy ass clown shit
fr
$150 for a good power cable is pretty cheap actually
Doubtful
There's way more expensive ones that give you just as much performance
Yes there are
But $150 is pretty expensive unless you have a really long cable of a certain gauge
Nah like I said it's cheap
$150 is like 3 days of skipping McDonald's
Just eat less junk food and you're practically earning money
So really. If you think about it. You'd be stupid not to get the cable.
you on a strongman diet?
It's grimaces birthday
i didnt know grimace existed until like 3 days ago
i still haven’t really researched it
i gotta have that radioactive purple shake
someone: "get better sound with this optical cable specifically made for audio"
Does someone have a recommendation for mics? not specifically for streaming?
A budget one would be great, doesnt have to have the best sound quality you can get, but pretty decent would be great.
I found something like the "hyperx solocast" for 50€ _o_O_/
Samson q2u
hello so i have this Sennheiser GSP 300 and ive had this problem for a bit but on discord and anywhere else my microphone doesnt seem to work at all ive tried changing inputs to my laptops built in microphone which does work but sucks ass and ive tried everything else that i can think of i went to a tech guy in person today where it worked for a second but then it didnt and no i have no drivers i need to update cause we checked that and they are all updated.
it worked like a few months ago when i was using it
and it works on other devices
it works for like a second when i switch between inputs quickly
other headsets seem to work
my old one
can you put it behind the keyboard and still have good quality?
ive tried some things and now it seems to detect atleast some sound but it doesnt seem to detect any voices only wind or smthin or breath
if ur tryna record the sound of ur keyboard ya
should sound good from there
I forget that not everyone uses sound suppresion
i’ve never found any that doesn’t murder quality or cut off words
obs default noise suppression sounds good but it costs off “f” sounds from the starts of sentences
Why would you even have to put it behind a keyboard
like if you open with the word frank it’s just gonna pass through rank
How small is ones desk
Because you don't have a boom arm and you like having your keyboard close to you.
my desk is big enough (approx. 2,8 x 0,9 m) but i dont like putting something infront of my keyboard
Get a boom arm
boom arm is possible but costs extra, not ideal for 100€ already, dont want to spend much more, its only a mic and im not really streaming
Then get a lav mic or a modmic
im a nerd but not into mics :/ is there a general "good option" or any things to avoid?
Just having a microphone closer to your keyboard than your face is gonna result in it picking up your keyboard better than your voice.
Find some sound demos on YouTube.
Podcastage has some good ones.
i'll look into it. thank you guys alot 🙂
i made progress.. i think.. Its now only picking up desktop audio
and isnt static or anything
you can get a mic and boom arm for way less than 100
ok someone told me that i need a new splitter since this is how the cable looks and it merges these 2 into 1
New pedal board for bass & guitar
is it just me or do copper cables sound better than silver
have you gotten the fluid drained yet
in my ears?
yah
dang you’ve had it for a while
yeah
it took me a minute to realise which fluid you were talking about lol
too many things going on rn
air conditioning condensation drain corrugated tubing got a tear in it
can’t be having that
hmmm the silver is improving the midrange on the edition xs tho
I notice faster decay
everything sounds like it has a bit less body/presence yet what you hear is more pronounced/faster

I don't like how the bass has less presence and highs sound more compressed
I have two cables that look the same but have different materials, I can just tell which one I used by sound
its not apparent like straightaway
maybe one of them is flipping the absolute polarity
nah I checked with a multimeter
I still can't tell consistently with planars if polarity is inverted
with IEMs I can
odd
one polarity sounds like the sound source is positioned close and under my ears, and like it has artificial warmth or pressure that annoys me after a while
the other places the sound source directly on the left and right of the middle portions of my ears and sounds more spacious and like the bass has less warmth and more subbass
I can tell something changes for a second when I flip polarity, but after a few seconds I cant hear it anymore on my planars
idk which is correct i have no way of testing
it also changes per song how inverted polarity will sound
inverted polarity pretty much doesn't exist with speakers
in terms of changing the position of instruments and stuff
it just makes things sound very weird
I really really want a dynamic with no front driver dampening that had Harman like tonality
Dt880 just ain't it
he only drinks mcdonalds grimace milkshakes
It's mostly been tea.
I recently got another 250grams of one of my favorite teas and that's been about 75% of what I'm drinking
Hello, is it necessary to add pop filter for microphone?
Only if you don't mind pops

😂😂😂😂😂
