the virgin dynamic variable impedance vs the chad flat impedance planar
Yes but at what cost
Grey tired of taking L's
So you have 23 hours
they are more for production than for hifi
and pro industry is very different than the audiophile scene
Which is what I use them for
then you're not after quality audio, but just durable one
help me
Thoughts on 700 pro x?
they're fine, just exensive
K371 and NTH100 IMO are better, but 700 pro X are nodoubt more durable than both
Swap the pads like every 2 years or so and they will last forever
not even
served me well in CS:GO
center image is flat but good 360 deg coverage
shots from behind sound like they're at my head ;p
You somehow missed what I said
What exactly did you say
because I saw nothing except you talking about how much people told you the DT770 sucked
That I bought them for studio production. I didn’t buy them for the bass. I play instruments so needed a good pair of headphones for that
Well they replied with that because the only reason its used in studios is because its durable, studio engineers or whatever dont need good sounding headphones
They use big studio monitors
they don't tho
their sound is quite the mess
enjoyable?, sure
but that's subjective (even if it matters most, no point to using good sound if you don't like it)
they compare poorly to other stuff around the same price
Are you sure you’re on about the pairs from the early 90s?
Because the only experience I’ve had which is remotely negative is the fact they’re painful on my head with glasses on
And noise leak
Dt770 is significantly better than most other headphones at the price
Good price
The treble will give you actual hearing damage
If you use it too long and will fatigue your ears
How long have you had a pair/ how often do you use yours?
You will only become more sensitive with time
I had dt770 for 4 years
I sold mine
Did you buy an older pair or new?
Had dt880 too, but the 250 ohms version needed an amp
They started making them in the 90s
I use them with a sound card
Ensured it outputs 250
It just doesn't like high impedance
I get where a lot of people are coming from but the reviews for the older pairs are phenomenal
Honestly if you can look into getting he400se
Hence why I’m unsure why people are comparing them
I don’t buy modern shite lol
Why
Because most of it is poor quality
Much better comfort with their new pads
You were both flaming the newer 770s though lol
what?
I’m using the pros
@steel escarp so your argument is open backs are better than closed backs at the 400se price range
new ones are pro x
not pro
Not using the new ones lol
ik
There are no good closed backs that are remarkably better than IEMs at the same price
welp I need noise isolation and decent sound, as well as something that I can actually see
I've purchased earbuds before, and lost even those
No
absolutely hate glare
or reflections
that'll just lead to an even earlier demise
Tbh at that point just get akg k371 and accept there is nothing better
._.
You won't get better tonality
everybody has different ears, different experience need I SAY IT
I hated Susvara for instance
despite owning nothing more expensive than a 700 pro x
even though I shat on apple earbuds
You can't compensate for a null
0 * 5 = 0
Even with EQ
It looks okay for a closed back tbf
the one up high is still there, between 200-400 hz ish is flatter
3-4kHz dip is gonna hurt vocals
personally idc for the dip, don't notice
since metal screaming from corey taylor is about 1k-2k
and I don't listen to many genres outside of heavy metal with vocals in them
plus I send anything above 4k to hell (dial down -4dB or more) if I want to listen for a long time, like studying simultaneously
yes the dt770
mate what
I’ve had a poor experience with newer headphones it’s my opinion
which are?
Mostly sennies
660 is a notoriously bad headphone that sounds like a tin can
Cost 5x what my dts cost
hd650, hd560s and hd800 are the only sennies sort of worth buying
and even then I dislike hd650s
if you can try find a hifi store in your region
try a lot of them
some are downright terrible to certain people, some are love at first sight, others are appealing only in one quality
Currently In London
audio science has magically deteriorated according to huibi
because uhh
reasons
we just regressed for no real reason
vintage stax is because of being super non consumer friendly
and he1000v1 can't be considered vintage either
Try the 80s
It's unobtanium
give me working HE6
it wouldn't randomly break after surviving for this long
headband swap is possible thankfully
they still sell that headband?
it is compatible with newer headbands
this exists it seems still
zamn
"just chinese products being chinese products"
give me he1000v1
welp, bought an overkill portable AC because rental and QC45 for alright sound but mostly the ANC because I want to be able to sit in the room while it is on, lol
was on sale anyway
Guys I had bought my headphone AKG-371BT a year back, although the sound is amazing the build quality is literally shit. The left hinge broke 3 times and I am thinking to buy a new headset. Any good recommendation for a headset below 50$, at this point i find no point in wasting 100$ lol
Use is for Gaming and Listening to songs
if thats your budget then Creative Aurvana Live! SE I guess
Been thinking about buying a soundbar for my TV but the stand on my LG CS55 is so low that any soundbar directly in front would block the screen. Any suggestions for placement? I don't think I can wallmount the TV as I think the wall isn't a strong one
Quite expensive here Idkw
100$ ish
ksc75 then
your setup has room for actual powered bookshelf speakers
on stands, on either side of the furniture holding your tv up
Oh, interesting. Wouldn't that be a lot more expensive though? I was hoping to spend about £250 or so
nope there are some affordable speakers
Anything in particular I should be looking out for? HDMI connections or something?
most of them will use optical, i see you have an lg oled tv, it should work with no issues
edifier is usually the way to go for budget powered speakers
that should leave you enough budget to find some speaker stands that fit your room
youll just have to measure to see how tall the stands need to be, and make sure they support the speakers you choose
I'll take a proper look, thanks. It's the LG CS 55
how can I adjust the sound and microphone on my headset? I have the MassDrop pc37x headset.
wall mount requires studs, which most walls will have
wait 250 is enough for a pair of lsr305
Is it
can you guys recommend a good over ear headphones under $100?
just for low latency gaming and listening stuff on yt
Pc37x or k361
Idk. I got gripes about base-lining the value of something based on used options.
real
Even though lsr305's have a healthy used market that's generally pretty safe.
and even if you get the speakers for 250 that leaves no room for stands in the budget
300 Cad is far lower than 250 gbp
Loud microphone = if you record voice with that microphone, it has loud voice to hear.
ok so basically any mic then
You can just turn up the gain of any mic to achieve that
there are two main types you'll come across I guess
If you want loud without clipping, ig using any condenser properly?
@tender frost Increasing gain may increase noise.
Then you want a sensitive mic or a pre-amp that doesn't have noise
Or just move the microphone closer to your mouth
Proximity effect and plosives say no
Also @south portal you've been in here for three days now asking for purchase advice and not taking any of it.
So like what do you want
What's your endgame
Which one is that?
what headphones/iems would you guys recommend for around 50-100 bucks for gaming/music that have good strong bass but also audio quality that isn't dumpster tier?
without a mic i plan on getting a proper one
@cobalt gyro Some people recommend this: Sennheiser PC37X
they just said they want headphones not a headset...
ye
because rn i'm using a razer barracuda x headset and holy shit i hate how much it beeps about the battery
i don't care that you're on 20% battery that's literally enough to last me 8 more hours shut the fuck up
i only got a barracuda x because i needed something wireless with low latency that could connect to phones, pcs and xboxes
and this was my best option for like 70 bucks
doesn't even talk it straight up just does a 1 second beep that blocks all other audio for an entire second when it happens
do you have any idea how annoying it is to listen to music with this shit
rn i just plan on buying an external audio interface and mounting it directly in front of where i'll be sitting either inside the countertop or under it
i am not having a headset cable yank my pc down onto my keyboard again that happened 2 times too many
(also who thought it's a good idea to give a heaset 2 meters of cable)
(the second you get a cable longer than like 150cm you're just asking for it to wrap around a chair leg and destroy everything when you slide it back to go get some snacks)
2 meters isn’t that long
it is when your pc is right next to you
If you get an elgato wave XLR that should have enough gain for any microphone. And then just get a Beringer xm8500
Maxwell has an 80 hour battery 🥴
i may have overexaggerated but it's still like several hours of battery life
and also fuck razer for making it beep constantly i am never buying anything from them again oh my god
Dynamic microphone or condenser microphone? Which one should someone buy? I think, most people use condenser microphone.
tie it up bro
treat it like your wife
most people use condenser because electret capsules are cheap, readily available and are easier to use due to it essentially having its own preamp built in
but ask anyone who actually knows mics, it's so dependant on the use case, situation and even the thing you're reocrding that it's far more nuanced than just condenser vs dynamic

He's been asking for the last 3 days.
And we've been answering.
Oh
Get wa47jr and arturia minifuse 1 and call it a day
read chat bro
you got answered so many times
Where do I plug in headphones on my motherboard?
L-out would be most correct.
looks like one of those boards that you can assign any functionality to any output with the driver software
any except mic in should work if you configure it
but the l-out is the default stereo output which doesn't need configuration
You sure?
Or you just saying that cause it highlighted white and others aren’t
It's the only one that makes sense here
L out should've been Line out which is technically incorrect, but is also misused on motherboards a fair bit
the icon signifies main output
Oh…
or how do I explain this
I got bit
Line in and out is based on max voltage
Mic in is mic because it's very low voltage
they operate all the same
nah I don't think Realtek has Mic in
it does
does it?
yeah
realtek has a stupid amount of outputs and inputs
for surround and other things
which it will totally be used for
I mean
I don't expect their ADC to be good
but hey if it's functional both Line in and Mic in would've been handy for me
yea makes sense
i attempted to use it as a line in and it had super loud buzzing
Line in doesn't need preamp, Mic in does
and I can only assume (due to size constraints) the preamp is gonna be garbage
the dac isn't super shit ngl but like idk
Which is ok I have an interface but ea
who tf would use realtek for surround
i’ve never seen anyone do it
Low cost and looks good on a spec sheet
So probably keep it for that reason
Mobos have a hard time differentiating themselces from competition so they just market as many specs as possible
Can I get a recomendation for a compatible Atmos Soundbar? Specifically soundbar due to room constraints. Was looking at Arc, Bose and Sony. - THanks!
who is t hanks and why does he state this
T hanks is Tom Hanks.
there's only really one wireless headset thats "good" and its the maxwell at $300
there are more and better wired options
Like what?
if you need a headset there's the pc37x and pc38x
Ok
if you're okay with just headphones theres the 560s, koss, and some others. open backs are just so much better
If I wanted a nice wireless headphones what would it be even just wounding
Ah ok
Typically the best regarded wireless ive seen (doesn’t mean they’re amazing) is the audeze maxwell but those def break the bank
ok thanks
what nils said is true but
cloud 2 is a notch above other gaming stuff
if you are set on wireless and you don't want to pay the maxwell price, its a decent option
I have the cloud 2s and the right ear is kinda breaking and like it slip out of the holes and there is a crack in the head part so ye
well im afraid that's like one of the best wireless gaming headsets there is
its quite a shitty market
i recommend either swapping to wired or saving up for a maxwell in your case
that's better than the wireless version
true
do you know what size head I need so I can replace the ear cup back into place?
The AV crew experience
So replying to myself - no sound at recommendations?
Looking for a new wireless headset. I am using the logitech g935 atm, but when ever I move my head the headset is making a squeaking sound. Would like to have some better sound quality.
I also use a cable to plug in my amp directly to my headset and still have the audio coming from my pc.
Willing to buy 2nd hand and budget is around 250 euro. Also open to buy good headphones and a separat mic
Why two mice and two keyboards? You can use a USB switch to cntroll both computers with one mouse and keyboard
It's two macs sir
OpenGPT recommended me these for linking up my stratocaster to my pc. Any opinions?
Focusrite Scarlett
Behringer U-phoria
Presonus audiobox
M-audio M-track
We should get one of those boys for the channel
I see. I'll look it up, but I'm in Asia and i can't guarantee it'll be available
party rock is in my house
since you don't really need a preamp, M audio M track solo is plenty
Audiobox 96 is outdated
What does a preamp do?
pre amplifies the signal before it gets turned digital... lol
Scarlett also outdated
My EG sounds like the normal acoustic guitar. I want it to sound grunge and metal, my Boss Katana Mini doesn't do that
oh so you're using digital pedals?
Ah, GPT's information cutoff is september 2021. That's why the advice might seem old
I have no pedals. I don't know what they're used for
ye, you'd need to ask binggpt for newer info
My fender goes to the amp. It sounds alright for Viva La Vida, but not nirvana
I'd recommend you google it, basically it's physical circuits that change the sound of the analogue signal (out of the guitar)

If you want rock then you'll want a distortion (overdrive) or fuzz pedal + maybe a compressor
There's a lot to go through with pedals
Hetfield and Herman
Give me an hour or so. I've got showering and chores
maybe a reverb as well

what good headphones/earphones/earbuds/over ear/on ear/in ear/anything that fits into ear can i get for $50/4500 INR ?
ping me when replying
Tangzu Wan'er
7hz Salnotes Zero
Truthear x Crinacle Zero
QKZ X HBB Khan
are any of those available for you? they're in ear monitors
totally confirmed new etymotic ear tips with a warm sound signature and tight bass
these ? could not find the 3rd one and when i searched for them the 2nd one kept showing
what the hell why are the qkz x hbb khan so expensive for you
theyre the equivalent of 3300INR here
out of the ones you can buy the tangzu wan'er are the better ones
whats the bang for the buck
and whats the best one out of them disregarding price
khan is the best but do not pay 9000inr for those
wan’er is better than salnotes zero
is there a big difference between the non khan and khan version
let me search on other sites
they dont have much reviews though so i will check if the seller is legit just incase
@unique wind how about this
are those better than the tangzu
I don't get those terms
wtf why is there a drywall anchor attached
please don't tell me you (or whoever's picture that is) actually tried to use it
it's reddit, what can I say
yes
extra bass extension
Basically reverb adds an echo which can help with basically giving sense of space
Distortion/fuzz/overdrive adds.... distortion and makes tones sound gritty if that makes sense
Compression/limiters basically limit or scale down volume past a threshold
You'd be better off googling this on yt, they'd do a better job explaining
Alright
@unique wind how long does it take to get used to new IEMs ?
depends
I got used to the wan'er in like, seconds
Chu was also in a few seconds
because im paranoid i will regret the sound of new expensive headphones
Tin t2 was a week
because of this 1 post i saw on reddit
tangzu waner, truthear hola and truthear zero are all very safely tuned
should i go to a offline store and hear them just in case
tin t3+ is really weird I don't blame em
blon bl03 was only recommended like 2 years ago because it was better than kz
they're not good by any means
you can't try IEMs out
why ?
well the last shop i went to the guy wore the earphones to see if they were working and then gave it to me to test it like wtf
it was like a local shop on the side of the street tho
the IEMs that require someone to know what they want (ie. moondrop Chu, tin t2, etc.) I wouldn't recommend to a newbie
hmm i see
is going from my realme Buds 2 Neo to TANGZU WAN’ER a huge jump ?
I've never tried the real me buds 2 neo, but know that the wan'er are wired, and the tuning will likely expose missing frequencies in the buds 2, as is the case with a lot of cheap tws
truthear zero ($48) or TANGZU WAN’ER ($24) @haughty girder
Your choice
If you want punchy bass, zero
if you just want something that is overall decent, wan'er
OK
yes those are similar to the khans that i recommended
Found it

🎸► The Beginner's Guide To Guitar Pedals & Guitar FX
In this video I'm going to talk about what I wish I knew about guitar pedals when I first started as a guitarist. There's so many guitar pedals out there on the market so it's tough to know what each effect does as a beginner. However it's actually much simpler than you think! In this video I...
Any opinions on these?
- Digitech TL2 extreme metal
- MXR Bullfore metal
- boss metal core ml2
but those are double price of tangzu wan'er
i will go with wan'er
The kinda eartips I need for In ears to stay in:
Okay, I'm set on the core ml2
👍
hs60 is trash
Does anyone know if it's possible to use the Sonos Line-In Adapter to add a 3.5mm input to something like a Raspberry Pi?
they're all fine
we don't really know much about best of bad sounding items
and sound bars fit into that criteria
honestly, with soundbars, you're not looking for quality
just go to bestbuy, find a cheap one that sounds good enough to you and buy it
Could someone explain to me why my Galaxy S5 Neo has the best built in DAC outta any device in my house?
people used to use wired audio a lot more
Yeah I know, but it’s like noticeably better, and I thought the older iPhones had decent built in DACs 😂
Looks like this thing is gonna be my new “MP3 player”, the battery life it gets is insanely good too, and I got Android 12 on it
It’s apparently a 24/192DAC
That doesn't mean much
Nah I know, but 24bit on a 2015 phone is pretty cool
Iirc iPhones were 24/48
I just know this S5 Neo sounds way more of a deep and open sound compared to anything else I have
Because obviously everything else in your house sucks
Also could someone recommend me a pair of Sennheisers? Wired 3.5mm and closed back are my only requirements
Why sennheisers
Sennheiser doesnt make good closed backs
No shit really? I never said I was an audiophile
I just want a good pair of over ears with good balanced sound, with a little more emphasis on the lows
K361/k371
For about $200CAD, could go a little higher, but not by much
K371
sennheiser hd560s or akg k371, depending on if you want open or closed
They said closed back
I would have recommended HD560s if they didnt care
yeah k371 is perfect then
I wish there were more good closed backs
Just duct tape over the grills to convert them to closed backs 🦭
real
you can make your own though
But then the sound will stick to the tape
buy a measurement rig and make corrective eq for a closed back that’s tuned poorly
I know plenty of people making their own, just waiting for then to finish them
Alright, I’ll have to pick them up sometime soon, I know AKG is an awesome brand
Making good headphones isnt easy
no i don’t mean literally making them
Not really
just buy a comfortable well built closed back that’s tuned poorly, throw it on a measurement rig, and make a corrective eq profile
Okay then bro 💀
EQ isnt magic
it is
No it isnt
it is
It wont make a bad headphone good
It is
it will
Itll still be a bad headphone
It will
if there aren’t any extreme dips or humps that aren’t fixable and the driver is low distortion then yes eq can fix a bad headphone
Good. Gets rid of the backwave.
Which is great for audeze planars but go eq a razer kraken
Who said anything about a gaming headset yo
Go eq a HD600 even
Okay
Can't EQ dynamics.
I will
How do I EQ the clamp?
What the fuck
download a better head shape
none of these sliders do anything
It was an example
Too bad
??
!!
B&K 5128 is waiting
sennheiser driver distortion be like
200-20000hz: we chillin
bass: oh my god what the fuck
Sometimes I hate sennheiser
I thought you said shop by model, not brand, then how can you hate a brand?
I’ll stop shit talking 😂
i hate sennheiser because they can’t decide if they wanna make S tier headphones or F tier headphones
they do both simultaneously
Well this is different, because as a whole, their headphones are usually mediocre, then they have 3 good ones
mediocre is generous
And between those 3-4 good ones, there is unit variation fuckery
That’s the worst
And 2 of those 4 have some qualities that people hate such as their initmate stage and 3 blob imaging
I dont care about that because stage in headphones isnt good
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
HD800 has too much treble and good stage and imaging for a headphone
Also what are some good cheap IEMs that I can throw in my bag without the worry of breaking them
imaging is almost entirely frequency response based
Thoughts on new hyperx cloud 3?
they made a new one oh no
HD560s has too much treble and decent imaging
HD600 is arguably the best tonally and the worst for stage
HD600 is the best one
Fight me
580>
You are stupid
560s and 600 are the best sennies if you don’t wanna eq
We all are
your mama
I just know BS 580> SS 600
i wouldn’t buy a headphone that has bass distortion while not even having linear bass extension
590 are the best
how you gonna be like -6db at 20hz and still have distortion
Worst unit variation out of all of them
my two sound pretty similar 🤷♂️
Good for you
i don’t really care about anything below 50hz but still that’s just wack
conpin is a result of human unit variation
i don’t think any headphones would fit this man’s head
“Wahh HD600 no stage no image, my 40 year old stax that might break if a breeze blows through my window is a better option”
Anyway im done
maybe 1266 but those are barely deserving of the name headphones
they’re practically electronic waste straight out of the factory
Who
he joined SG awhile ago, probably someone there
Wdym who, you know who
Not even sg bro
Some rando on the interwebs
are there any objectivist audio discord servers
kinda
or just youtube reviewer wanking servers
But sg ppls def said that at some point
I know who but I don't think they're ever on LTT. Just seemed like you brought that up out of nowhere.
I didnt realize I was still in LTT ngl
You know you're in LTT because Michael is here
He only hangs out in the lowest of the low-fi servers

Who tf michael
Oh wait nvm
Im braindead
Anyone?
Truthear hola
Can i use my inears for guitar practice
why wouldnt you be able to
560s sure but hd600?
too much bass falloff
Does HD58x remedy this?
maybe but at the cost of other things
Not in the right way. So they blow up the entire bass, not just solid bass extension. And they reduce treble. So you just get something overly warm.
true enough
Is there good speaker for less then 100 or 130 euro?
And is there also good head phone?
banned for saying you used alt here
sounds like you have “golden ears” on your resume
they’re gone now
Nah, they online/idle
All
I’m too lazy for that
Rest assured they’re 6ft under
Who’s “this guy”
You
Still head above ground?
insert big brother
You want me to go too?
6ft under but they are 6’1
Why?
Dunno your name just stuck
Just first 3 letters of my name
What?
Oh lol
Its simple, but somehow used no where
Username is still unused on all platforms I don’t use it on
Change o to i for cin-pin
Change your pfp to zeos looking creepy
No

Does anybody happen to know how to change youtube premium's audio codecs? I have audio sensitivities due to having autism and I can't listen to any of my favorite creators anymore due to the pitches it gives off and these people including this channel have really expensive audio setups so it shouldn't be a problem but it massively is.
I have a really nice pair. Tried several Bluetooth speakers and expensive headphones and they all give same results
Its either a youtube issue or pixel 5 issue
Probably what you call a nice pair is not considered good by those in audio
I used a shure se215 and moondrop aria with apple usbc jack
Probably just a specific frequency range
Codecs shouldn’t be boosting frequencies by anything
I just want to flip between different ones to find the best because the current one is bad for me.
Idk where to find the setting
I don't think thats a thing
Here's some really weird shit happening to me.
I'm on windows 11, and the bluetooth toggle just randomly apppears and disappears. i.e. if bluetooth was turned on, and the toggle disappears, well now i'm disconnected. A few seconds later it does reappear, but it is pretty frequently happening so, very annoying.
One particular thing i've noticed is that this also tends to happen when i hit rewind 5s using the left arrow on youtube. Any ideas anyone?
Also sometimes, the toggle just doesn't return unless i hold the power button manual reboot the laptop.
(yes, doing a regular restart doesn't fix it.)
YouTube has no premium codec
when yt music is essentially capped at a 256mp3
Yt (normal) has no chance
I want to be able to play switch games docked to my PC, and in order to make that work, I have it set up such that the switch dock is hooked up to my main monitor, and that monitor's audio output is plugged into the line-in port on the back of my PC, then I just turn on "listen to this device" for that line-in. This makes it so that I can use my PC and switch at the same time and have them output through the same speakers or headphones. Only problem with that is, the monitor's audio output is absurdly quiet, meaning it requires either powered speakers or an amplifier. My desk is already a mess of cables though, so I'm not sure how I'd set up an amp. What should I get to make this work?
it isn't mp3
its aac
i can jam out to some youtube music videos and it doesn’t bother me
i believe regular videos are all 192kbps
is there somewhere I can look up how many ohms my motherboard amp can deliver?
I wanna buy an 80 ohm headset but deciding if I reaaaally need the external dac-amp, or not yet
ohms dont work like that
if its the beyerdynamic 80 ohm version, anything north of a mcdonlads toy should be able to power it
which is to say most things will be fine with it
i had a 250 ohm and there wasn't anything that i found that couldn't get reasonably loud
if you're the type of person who listens really loud or turns up the volume to max to listen to footsteps, then you might be hitting the limit of what your motherboard can put out
oh not really no, I wanna keep my ears still
but that's good to know that it could still be usable with the onboard amp
and if I want more sound then yeah an external amp
yeah. there's only a handful of headphones which aren't usable with default headphone jacks.
and they're all $$$
like. $1000 at least. or only available on ebay because they're vintage.
yeah at that point you should invest in a nice setup outside of the headphones themselves
someday im gonna get me some vinyl
go for that one instead
you can power it pretty easily
192 opus, not vbr iirc
for yt music
128 opus for videos
detail wise is roughly equivalent to 256 and 192mp3 respectively
oh nvm yt music caps out at 256aac/opus
i pay for youtube but don’t use youtube music
honestly is 256aac indistinguishable compared to 320mp3
most sources claim this and ive never tested it
i think the gear you’re using matters dramatically more than such a small compression difference
test it
because according to claims they are the same fidelity
one is just better compressed
but aac is closed source lol
no idea
probably alac
its difficult to believe there is room for improvement in terms of audio compression honestly
yes i read into it they do aac and alac
it’s not really necessary to improve anymore
just higher compression and pushing their ecosystem
storage density and network speeds are increasing super fast and eventually flac/alac are going to be laughably insignificant data rates
true
but still
cutting corners is something always desirable for any company
just because you got the bread to do it doesn't mean you want to
just pay some dude to do it better and save your company like 1% more income
gotta save $0.02 for every unit sold even if it makes the product much worse
capitalism 👍
I don't have normal. I pay for premium. I just was told you might could change to a different codec. But thank you for your answers.
yes this is the conversion I use, aac. 192aac = 256mp3, 256aac = 320mp3, etc.
From my testing they're similar enough that it's good enough approximation
It becomes a little more complicated when vbr comes into play
aac is far more efficient
Smaller for same quality
very interesting
it’s time for a new compression algorithm
Eh
Just make everything variable bitrate
The current compression algorithms for aac vbr is pretty good
mp3 is only around nowadays for compatibility
h.264 and mp3 forever ❤️
we all know how mqa went
we do not speak of such things
mangled quality audio ™️
my denons looked like this
now they all fresh
nobody told me dt880 headband would fit
back from the dead
still murder treble
i need recomendations for a wireless headset that charges via type c
decent mic required
NO CORSAIR! im tired of there trash software
Audeze Maxwell
i need to add two more things here
budget range 100-200
also id like to swap over my ZMF oval earpads to the new headset
tuning is the one thing i cant figure out lol
pretty much do not fuck with the stock pads
yes its a little bookshelf
my desk setup is not for sound quality tbh
velodyne hgs15 in a 4.3 cubic foot box
i really do want to find another sony es amp and set these speakers up correctly
Anyone got good cheap speaker or head phone?
I wish K361 were back down to 80usd
we’re not allowed to have nice things
Is if better to get a used pedal or a new pedal?
iv had decent expernice with the polk t50's and some of the mointor series polk audio
klispch makes a really nice desktop speaker system with a 6,5 inch subwoofer included but they are like 200 for the GOOD speaker set
does anyone know what this little metal thing is called
I found a old arm in the garage but its missing this piece, does anyone know where i could find a replacement?
ksc75
Wrong
Just because ear clip doesnt mean its not a headphone
And you can get a headband mod
wasnt there a pair of philips that was under 100? that were actually pretty decent
i cant remeber the damn model number
It ain’t a headphone if it don’t even touch the head, its closer to an earphone design wise
its like people who call airpods headphones
or earbuds lol
Too painful
are those uncomfortable?
Bad
weird i remember hearing so many good reviews about them
Bright af
mfw reddit so called "reviewers" hear a headphone
Its not good
Reddit likes it, people with any listening capabilities dont
i was going to buy a pair of those but landed on the corsair vitroso's cuz wireless
200? Im too broke for that
i would try to find some used polks on marketplace if you are on a tight budget
Don’t those have a massive hole in their sound
tbh i have not noticed it
i dont listen to music just watching vids and games
and there app is so trash the eq barely works
Why do they have barley?
i dont have autocorrect lol
This?
Does anybody know a good microphone review channel? looking to tryout streaming but dont wanna blow a bunch of money on something i might not enjoy
is the 512 audio tempest any good?
are the HD400S good
what are some good headphones under 120 aud
iems r better
ok so im considering changing my headphones for gaming use and music use
i currently use hyper x cloud 2s wired
im considering EPOS PC38X in black but not sure how it sounds for music
closed back with anc would be nice aswell
my budget is around 400 pound
well pc38x is the exact opposite of closed back with anc but it has excellent tuning
So, I need a new mic/headset for my laptop and Xbox because i rather buy one for both.
I kinda need help finding a good headset that works with both and is worth the money.
I am currently using a Blackshark v2 pro and it's kinda dying, the cord is ruined and the audio is slowly going.
I would love to help thank you.
Audeze maxwell if you can afford it
Podcastage does a good job. He has a video on budget mics
Anything on the cheaper side?
I think HyperX cloud 2s are supposed to be decent?
Do this work whitout an amplifier ?
Do not try this at home like I did.
There are many better alternatives to this headphone for both gaming and music.

How is that usefull for me ?
And what is this supposed to mean
And how good is hyperx cloud 2?
that is the best thing to do with dt990s
Why
because they suck
I tried one and they felt good, why do they suck?
yes yes and yes
and does it need an amplifier?
So its good? I can take it right?
yeah
Finally i found a cheap Headset that doesnt suck ass
250 ohm is good enougfot gaming? h
Yeah
It’s like 990 with out the treble spike
Well thats neat
I have the DT1990 PROs, which are also 250 ohm, and they definetely dosound better with an amp
I do not have the money for an. Amp
they sound fine without depending on what you're listening through, however they need an amp to reach their full potential
what audio interface are you using?
And the more ohms the more resistantance to volume
What?
Im just plugging it into Phone, mobo and steam deck
Depends how loud you listen, that should tell you if you need an amp or not.
What headphones are you using currently? And how loud do you listen to them?
Im using speaker
I like it not to noisy idk
Around what volume?
If you are under 65% on 10 watt speakers, you should be fine with no amp
Idk lol
I wont buy a amp anyway since im broke and ill use it for travel
You should be fine with no amp then
And also you can always buy an amp later down the road, when you have more budget if it’s not enough volume
(Usually) the only thing an amp will give you is more volume, when you have more ohms in headphones, it will take you more power (volume in this case) to get to the same sound level
And an amp has more power
Meh i dont need more volume
Although if you aren’t the person to blast music 24/7, your phone and other devices should provide plenty more power
Although Beyerdynamic does have a 32 ohm version, which might sacrifice on sound quality, but it will be easier to get them to a certain noise amount
I dont Listen to music
I just want it for gaming
And i hâte loud noise
Idk
Most phones should be fine though
Mi i9 lyte
Oh, that phone should have plenty of power for the headphones
Yeah, I don’t think you need an amp
Nice
just to add, an amp is not only to make your headphones louder, theres also a noticeable improvement in dynamic range, and frequence response with a good amp
I tried to convey this by saying (usually) in another message, but I thought for his use an amp isn’t mandatory
1990s are very efficient, much more efficient than the 880s.
i have'nt tried the 880s
okay so do I need to fiddle with anything to get decent quality or
for reference, it's a Scarlett Solo hooked to ATH-M50x headphones
what are some good headphones under 120 aud
can somebody help the audio on my pc only comes out one ear
is there a good cable for the 560s I can get so extend cable length
My pc a bit far away so need more length
Limiter 😂
What are some good car subwoofers?
More specifically, a 2023 Honda Civic. It’s for my brother. I don’t have a budget as I don’t really know what they cost
Please ping me with any suggestions
jl audio make some really nice stuff ... might want to look into that
focal are also really good
What about Kenwood? That’s an audio brand I’m familiar with?
Just asking cuz some website I was looking at had all three
i would go focal or jl audio
alright ill look into them. thank you
no problem
and another question. is it better to get a box sub or a standalone driver
im guessing box but i saw a lot of drivers just on their own
I would get the sub and the box made for it ... jl audio usually have the specs and drawings of the box for each of their sub on their website
each sub needs a certain enclosure volume
unless you want to go custom, I would get something prebuilt ... way easier
Yeah makes sense. Alright cool, thanks for the info
true true
also you might want to check car audio fabrication youtube channel
the bigger the car, the more air you want to move
to move more air, you need more cone surface area ...
his car is a civic (sedan/hatchbatch) so yeah i guess ill need one not super big
there's a lot of combination you can get between 1x 15" or 2x 12" or 2x 10" or 3x 8" depending of the space you have
that one might be too big lol
uh i was thining (assuming that means driver) 1 x however much space he feels he doesnt need. its probably gonna be a smaller one
he might have some video about how to chose the right sub for the car
do you need an amp as well?
yes
you probably can get some combo in a local shop
trying to find out but im not getting a clear answer besides taking it out myself
if it's oem radio it probably won't have rca out
yeah that was my guess
then you'll need to get an amplifier that will be able to take high level input from the speakers ... or a kind of converter box that will take the speaker signal and output rca
for those you should talk to a car audio shop if there's one near you
i saw that i might need a line out converter
this is gonna be harder than i thought
it's more than just adding a sub yes
look sketchy but yeah that would probably do the trick supposing you can find one for the specific car model
that one is supposedly the one for it
that's good then
alright i also found a form of someone doing it on a last gen civic soooo i think im set for knowing what to do. time to pick some parts
you know any good subs with a built in amp? or is it better to do it seperate?
this might be the one i go for
seperate amp would be the way to go
alright cool. this one doesnt have one so ill have to look for one in a second
which ones do you recommend
they should have some amps on their websites too
alright thank you
found this one
hows sony for amps? i found one that was about $100 cheaper and wanted to compare
I'd get JL every time before sony
ferrules? lugs? heatshrink? crimper?
i know have heatshrink and a crimper
big enough for the power cable?
