i don’t know if it ever would be possible
maybe if they streamed a signal directly into your brain
Still an improvement over the ig955 so I didnt replace it right away
but sound isn’t perfectly silky smooth in real life either
Ya that's what I mean, do we WANT to stream sound waves directly to my brain? Might sound weird and artificial
Oh huh...
Additionally, the shape of the pinna (the outer ear) and the ear canal add resonances to the response of a dummy head above 1kHz, making its response even more different than that of a measurement microphone.
Geez now i don't even know what I'm looking at with these graphs.
measurements are still extremely useful don’t listen to the people who pedal them as pointless
Ok so more as guidelines then exact?
they get close enough to what you’ll actually hear
they’re not that bad
for example with the hifiman he400se, the 2khz region where it doesn’t quite match the target, that’s very audible
What in the ever loving hell happened at 10k Jesus
most likely a measurement error
Aah, lol i was like that's really weird
Why not just make every headphones match target and we're done?
Just, every single headphones sound the exact same with small variations cuz of material

people have their own preferences
some people like objectively incorrect audio presentation
the target used in that audiosciencereview graph is the harman target, it has mostly neutral but slightly elevated and smoothed treble and a bass boost
Targets are very complicated
it’s what most people will prefer but the bass starts to give me a headache after a few hours
Right ppl have different ears and preferences
Wait a sec, hey will Tinnitus reduce high frequency hearing?
tinnitus is the consequence of hearing damage not the cause of it
It's not just that. There are some curves which are preference based, having normal people choose what sounds best, but also measurement based like trying to recreate speakers in a room, or sound that is entirely delocalized.
i’ve never tried a diffuse field target eq
oh hey oratory does have one for sundara
that is a huge alteration
What's that?
i don’t expect to like that but i’ll play with it tomorrow i’m too lazy to get out of bed
headphones trying to sound like neutral speakers in a room
So anyway, anyone have theories on why i can hear sounds at 30 i couldn't at 16?
no clue boss
Damn, I'm hoping to do more of whatever made my hearing better
there’s no way to make your hearing better
it can only get worse
you can train yourself to be more discerning of what you’re hearing but your ear anatomy can only get worse
ear hairs can’t regenerate or regrow and damage is often exponential because you’ll keep raising the volume to compensate
just enjoy your music but don’t play it too loud
I am looking to buy a XLR microphone and IEMs with a $200 budget, I was looking at this https://www.amazon.com/M-Audio-M-Track-Solo-Interface-Podcasting/dp/B08R2XXYGZ?th=1 any thoughts or recommendations
Well that's a depressing prospect
my hearing freaks me out sometimes
i listen to music loud and occasionally i will barley be able to hear the person im talking to but then 10 mins later i will go outside and hear the sound of a car horn in the distance 12+ blocks away and am able to tell what manufacture made said car by the tone of the horn
should I get an amplifier for beyerdynamic DT 990 PRO 80 OHM?
Do you want an amplifier?
how much better is it?
Hard to say. If you're good at listening it can make all the difference. If you're not that familiar with what to listen for, it can be unnoticeable.
Without sounds always so much worse
idk what to do cause half say you need half say you don't and its a waste
Well the 80 ohm 990s are not hard to drive.
Get the headphones. Use them. Then decide if you want the amp
if you think the bass isnt super muddy in them you dont need an amp yet
do you guys recommend any other headphones instead that could be cheaper and better?
Yeah the hd560s would be miles better
whats a good site to get those from?
also 880 > 990, 990 is just a worse 880
onboard still is dogcrap and would even make KSC75 sound better on an external device
@dry stratus
👌🆗
might as well spend the extremely little bit extra on a dongle and just be done
at that point, sure
Theyre at $200Usd on my amazon
Again, a bit high
cheaper here at 150 eur, because its not a merican company
Is it not at like 220 rn
Hey guys, is the Pioneer VSX-LX53 a decent AV receiver?
I found a guy selling one unopened from 2011 for 110USD
I can't afford it yet, but hopefully in a few months I'll scrape enough money together, so I wanna know if its any good
Currently using a TEAC Av-H500 from 2001 that only has AUX inputs and I wanna try 5.1 channel surround
i have a pioneer vsx-80, 7.2 but i only use it for 5.1. im trying to find a good set of bookshelf speakers to replace my older sonys but all of the ones i find are fucking bluetooth
you want to replace a pair of speakers in your 5.1?
or just swap to stereo
also a budget would help
yeah, im staying 5.1
i found a set from rockville, so considering they have great car speakers i'll try the bookshelf ones from them
but i do want a new center channel as well, a louder one i guess. what i've got is a 2 speaker little sony one
for?
wdym?
why 5.1
for movies only
and games if you need directional audio
for most multimedia 5.1 is straight up bad
especially music
it's for everything, ps5, series s, pc what not
its a better idea to buy another 5.1 set entirely
replacing pieces of a 5.1 set isn't a good idea
i'm not doing peices, im buying 2 sets of bookshelves
i currently run mismatched sony bookshelf speakers, and a jbl 15 inch sub
sub is staying
bookshelves are mostly full range
mixing random full range speakers together that sound good in a stereo setup isn't going to give you good surround audio
nah thats not true man
there's nothing wrong with using the same speakers for your mains and your surrounds
room issue
surround sets generally don't have much bass so you don't have shitty resonance
bookshelves do try to have the most bass they can pump out of a box
i have an eq, a pretty sweet one. i can make it sound how i want lmao
you can eq each speaker individually?
i literally just was trying to figure out what i was looking at on amazon
this is true and i hate ported speakers
i would rather bookshelves be sealed and roll off at 80 or 100hz
my room is too bad to even think of buying speakers
i have the speaker distances set wrong because it was in my house before
now in an apartment i can't find the remote
i thought you use speakers at your desk klaus
I have them
but I don't really use them except for when guests come over
they still sound better than any consumer garbage there is
but they layer so fucking poorly over headphones its sometimes unbearable
especially with bad mastering
getting positioning right is so annoying
I don't have room to adjust positioning either
ironically my shittiest speakers are the least picky about placement
one speaker is in a corner
the tweeter shoots out sound wide and tall as fuck
with its back facing a window and side a fucking concrete column
all the room gain
could drive these bad boys out of my 3.5 like this
mine are in corners and infront of a window too which is why i plug the rear port with socks
i got a sealed box
at least
but its a full range speaker mounted on my desk used as a nearfield
so i got other issues
oh yeah you have massive speakers thats right
yes
are they triple driver
yes
you have no idea how much the frequency response changes even if i move my head marginally
Creative pebbles would be an upgrade

iLoud MTMs are on sale at sweetwater
$280 ea instead of $400
on sale on their own website as well it seems
can someone explain to me why my pc sounds go to my mic?
like a youtube video audio going to my mic
what headphones?
or audio output
it can so many things
Pink is microphone
steelseries arctis 1 wireless
from audio leaking out of headphones and the mic picking it up since it's sensitive
OK so fabric pads right?
Green is sound.
Turn down ur volume and find out if it is still going through at the same volume
I'm fairly certain that headphone leaks sound
and since the mic on headsets are almost all tiny electret capsules they're very sensitive
yes but even when im muted the sounds goes through
Could be crossfeed
wdym?
khan has arrived
looks cool, not as nice as waner tho
better
has a proper high bass tuck instead of bleeding up to 400hz
if you meant aesthetics i agree waner is far prettier
I meant aesthetics yea
Issue with qkz is that I don't exactly trust them to not swap the hardware in it
kz did it with the zex pro
qkz did it in the vk4
i feel violated
the smallest tips it comes with are extremely small and it went so deep in my ear
felt like that tiny light doctors put in your ear
they must be @dry stratus sized
I used to be ok with that
but I've been using IEMs a lot more lately and they get really uncomfortable
I’m now looking for headphones + mic or headset with mic for under £200
Looking for the best I can get at that price
HD560s or DT880 plus fifine K669
HD560s doesn’t include mic?
No it doesnt
Included mic is over budget
is sennheiser pc38x available for you?
Get a lav mic then
that's the best gaming headset bar none if you want an included mic
Pc37x were on sale not so long ago, they are quite nice
question for the audiophiles is thier any sound difference between youtube, spotify, and a cd?
because i cant hear any difference at all
Yes. YouTube is the worst, Spotify is in the middle, and CD being one of the best options for music playback.
And not being able to hear a difference is pretty common to people who don't focus on that too much.
Hence why Spotify and YouTube are still used even when CDs exist.
i think its more the convenence how many computers have cd drives still
Spotify premium "very high" quality is basically as good as cd wav
You can hear some lossy compression artifacting if you have a trained ear
99.9% of ppl can't tell
can somebody tell me good gaming headphones for HEARING under $100 i have a microphone already
if its lossy i dont want it
is this fine
for hearing headphones
Arrives by Tue, Jun 6 Buy Creative Aurvana Live SE Over-Ear Headphones Optimized Cinematic Audio at Walmart.com
?
if it's 50 bucks then yes
they're good
tho maybe consider k361
Is this the same model?
nope that's a different one
very similar name but very different sounding
qkz x hbb kahn
i want to try to do a cover of some songs and was wondering if amp VSTs would work on non electric guitars and just regular guitar recordings, i would buy one if i have to but I'd rather save the money for something else if possible
Is the default cable for the Tangzu Wan'er good enough or should I get the silver-plated KZ Cable
Really?
Volume shouldnt be an issue
Hm
well not everything is quiet just certain videos and stuff
Turn the volume up
quiet on what
and for what device
if it's PC, get a dongle like Apple type C to 3.5mm or cx31993 dongle
Good enough
Hey morning
Does anyone know of any gd earbuds for 50usd or less?
Nekocake ig?
I have auditory sensitivities due to having Autism and I have a Pixel 5 and the speaker is very pitchy and makes all walks of life of content to sound very bad and triggers me so hard. I need a better phone with a better speaker. Which phone brand would you recommend?
Just get earphones or headphones?
No phone speaker would fix it being like that
That’s just what a tiny phone speaker gonna do
I like my moondrop aria iem, I guess I could take it off my computer interface. Is this adapter alright. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08B38C3G8
Just get the apple dongle or smth, also has usb-c
Its smaller
@molten lotus time to order fiio ft3
godspeed
inb4 fiio is super mid
the ft3?
yes
😹
It's apparently a crippled meze 109
who told you this
Anybody here knowledged on soundbars for PCs.
I can connect my soundbar to my PC via 2 methods.
-
Soundbar>HDMI Cable>PC GPU HDMI port. (My soundbar has a HDMI In port)
-
Soundbar>HDMI Cable>TV EARC port. (have to toggle some TV settings stuff like Pass through)
I find the Soundbar to GPU method has a much louder volume limit.
My question is which soundbar connection method for is best for a PC user? Would I be missing some perks using the quieter pass through method
Soundbars arent for desks
If it's called SoundSlayer it is
Pretty kickass when you pump the volume up
Sound bars for so close are ehhh
I managed to fatigue my ears so bad they now need 2 days rest
I listened to my denon ah-d5000
for 20 minutes
It might be klaus
When was the last time FiiO made a good product
Was considering purchasing the Aeon Closed X and I was asking about in another server where someone who have them has mentioned they sound terrible. I wanted to get other people's opinion on these headphones just so I have multiple sources. most reviews are saying they sound great so it surprised me a little to hear them say that
I honestly dont think DCA makes a good headphone
Lot of people I know say they suck, damped to hell and back
Man I guess the reviews are kinda bologna
Unless like, Corina
The other guy mentioned it may be sunk cost fallacy for some people
Which is 5 thousand dollars
Well aint that true
Guess he was right
Spend 1000 dollar on headphone, dont want to admit its shit
Tell people its good to self justify
Dang

Well I guess I'm markiing those off my radar
He did say he loves using the Hd600
I also was looking at the Audio-Technica ATH-R70x
Both are pretty good
But r70x might have fit issues depending on ear size
Smaller pads
Honestly
utws5
Thats not even a transducer
cope
Doesnt count
cope harder

Tbh I mainly got the ananda's because I have dreads and the band on the editon kinda tugs in my scalp and it hurts a lot
to be fair
Hd600 are 350 on Amazon rn
I have the stealth version
but you could honeslty get xs and an ananda headband for cheaper than an ananda
ananda stealth is only 550 rn
dayum
you will hate them if you like anandas
Understandable
Won't get them lol
Man I wish the DCA Aeon closed X was an option
If you like ananda I dont think you will like 600
They dont sound similar at all
My budget facebook marketplace setup
Turntable - 1 by one H005
Cassette deck - technics rs-tr232
Receiver- Sony str-de185
CD player- pioneer PD-F4O7
Speakers- KLH 911B
Alex being used so i can stream digital music from my pc to my stereo
you should just get IEMs at that point. the sound stage these headphones have is so compressed.
the tonality sounded good
Issue with getting iems now is I am constantly outside when I work and I always have earbuds on
but that is all dan clark headphones have going for them
Ah
Do you have any recommendations?
what are you looking for
I've seen people say if I already have the anandas then the hd600 is a no go
Truth be told
If it sounds good enough but primarily comfort
That's why I was considering the Dan clarks
which ananda version do you have
Stealth
and you have comfort issues?
so its not the headband
do you wear glasses
I do not
cant you adjust the height to relief pressure
Nope it's stuck in place
or stretch the headband to reduce clamp
Tried it
like bend it out
I've tried to bend the metal myself and have tried to bend it over a box for 2 days and the issue is still there
the suspension strap itself moves with the metal
so it can't be moved independently
but you can adjust the height of the earcups, right?
If I adjust it too far it becomes too long for my face
they need to close the gap on your jaw
for a better seal
earpads break in over time
but we are talking like a month or two
lol
maybe get something circular
audeze mm-100
if they sound like the mm-500 they will be okay
Funnily enough
honestly I wouldn't buy them if their tonality is the same as the mm-500
they should release next month
they set weight to "t.b.d."
I dont trust that
they literally just shrunk the size of the mm-500 diaphragm
and called it mm-100
their manufacturing process is so bad which makes their headphones 10x more expensive then they should be
You know what
Ima take my chances with the mm-100\
lemme know how it went
Will do
the only reason that thing is 400 dollars is because they finally gave a shit about their manufacturing process for that headphone
Alright I bought em
Done its done
you mean preordered?
let me know if there is a 3kHz peak that kills you
so I coulkd just pay full price upfront
wait I think you should cancel right now @bright osprey

There's always somethiong istg
That's because they offer returns up to a year, so
if you return it the next day you get fucked
True
Do you think every company is Amazon or something
I live in the EU
They sell headphones to dumbass audiophiles, there's no way they have enough volume to eat the cost of returns
there are laws
I live in the US
Restocking fees aren't even that unusual
in terms of sound the mm-100 is not an upgrade
You think they are a multi-billion dollar company?
Bro it was started by two dudes, and its still mostly those two dudes
you think amazon will let you infinitely return stuff?
365-day return is already good
they block you when they no longer make a profit from you
There are costs to returns bruh
yes
"scam"
that is how business works
Yes
the margins in audio are so huge
I know people who returned totl gpus
Amazon has a very generous return policy
if your product is so bad it needs to be returned
They sell headphones
A significant percentage of their returns are probably just "I don't like how this perfectly functioning transducer/DAC/amp sounds"
Man when you realize there's never a point where an audiophile is pleased
Like man
I just spent my paycheck on a 1200 euro amp and now I already want a new dac
and ordered a 200 euro power conditioner
its really an endless cycle
tho
hifiman edition xs
did not want to upgrade yet
that's an issue with hifimans in certain head types, rip my man
you can try getting an edition xs since it doesn't have a suspension headband like anandas, it might be more comfortable for your jaw
You know whats another thing that's funny
I have the hifiman he400se and I got the ananda's to replace them because the headband on the 400s irritated my head because I have dreads and it pulls on my scalp

Man I'm so boned
Holy bananas
the violectric amp has like the cheapest transformer
lol
for a 1200 euro amp
to be fair
since edition xs has larger earcups
more friction
which could lessen the burden on your scalp
though it's just wishful thinking
sundara is extremely comfortable to me but a decent amount of people think it clamps too hard
i’ll take your ananda stealth
everything clamps too hard after r70x
i love clamp so idk
in what way
in ways that automods prevents from being mentioned
The secrets of the universe
my desk is such a mess, 3 different headphones, 3 amps, 2 dacs, 5 headphone cables
Setting up the ebay poage for the ananda's now
i have the exact same amount
dt770, he400se, sundara
magni, magnius, avr
modi, modius
pile of headphone and iem cables
Pile of bad
Rip he got the schiit stuff
I like ifi stuff better than schiit stuff for the price
it was until i static discharged into my magnius
great piece of kit, it’s sad
wym rip they’re fantastic
shit loads of clean power and nice build quality for cheap
thought to be honest i use my fiio utws5 for everything because i listen to music on spotify anyway
Damn I guess I'm the only left with no problems with their gear
😔
real
My magni 3+ has channel imbalance at some volumes
At listening volumes it's fine so whatevs
That's normal
analog pots will have channel imbalance at lower volumes
well i mean lower on the knob, not necessarily low volume in your headphones
Manufacturers can fix it
They just cheap out
My violectric amp has no channel imbalance
Not really
Even the expernsive conductive plastic ones from vishay are +-20 percent
Yeah you could go with a active volume control circuit
That negates majority of the imbalance if you want to maintain the circuit analog if not there are ways to do it using relays and stuff
No you can fix it while still using a potentiometer
For very boutique builders sure
but it's very impractical
They can compensate for the channel imbalances
it's not cheaping out if it could literally double the cost
yea? and so can you
just set it digitally
Well tbf potentiometers even vary too much. If you buy 5 they will all behave a bit different
issue is that the channel imbalance is not linear
and yea
you'd have to test each one by one
so if you were to account for it, you'd have to measure each one individually
this is why I said this
Does a stepped potentiometer have this issue tho
mm
oh stepped is diff
nvm stepped is fine because it's using a series of resistors instead of carbon tracks
which makes sense resistors are a lot more consistent
How we feeling about the mm-500
i have no feelings

It was okay
The 3kHz peak made it fatiging
Still pretty long
It leans a bit dark, detail was not that good
I'd imagine I'd have the same issue
Same with sound stage
The stage sounded artificial
What we really need is a good open back fostex with Harman treble
Why can't they just make one
buy me not buy you

yes
I haven't felt anything ever
So deep
ever since klaus put on the sundara and imagined that he felt the treble decay he hasn’t been the same
he no longer has feelings
Wow
audiotechnica r70x is the only thing that makes the voices go away
r70x isn't that good
but it's the most comfortable headphone I have ever put on
and has stupid good imaging
apart from that its pretty decent but hazy
really???
idk I guess the twin paddle headband isn't for me
weird
earpads I can get
if you have big ears it can crush your ears because the pads are super small
but apart from that the stress, the weight
its perfect
hifiman stuff compared feels like its ready to launch itself off of your head with a sudden move
Yes
Hot take: Hifiman below 600 all feel like a chinese protype headphone that got accidentally released
the build material feels so fucking wonky for how much you pay its mad
like you can tell that it's mass produced but at the same time idek why it feels like a project
to be fair
the quality is on point
since it doesn't ever break or fail on you generally
Now is mostly
older hifiman...
also sundara yoke pisses me off
it doesn't have one
wait lemme show which part
why lol
does it feel cheap or just performs bad
if its performing bad then yeah
it performs fucking dumb
feel cheap and afaik is the weakest point of the headphone
I've seen sundaras break there
why not add a yoke to the headband and make that shit much more comfortable
instead of giving it angled pads
yeaaaa
I mean tbf HD6x0 has a funnier solution
just make a hole that causes the earcup yoke/headband adjustment band to rotate enough that it doesn't need angled pads
I'm pretty sure it's not intentional
i think it is
xs headband also uses that sort of solution
idk man
it just seems so scuffed yet functional
I don't think Senn would do smth like that
but I could be wrong
Someone recommended the HD 800s instead of the mm-500
Hd800 = just wide
o
Buy a k1000 🦭
join iem gang
buy moondrop variations, open it up, flip the wires to fix its polarity, profit
i would
But
I wear earbuds constantly for work
and I don't want to come home to keep pushing something into my ears
thats valid
if you want circular headphones i would recommend audeze lcd-2c but it requires eq to fix its treble roll off
800s
What it is good at: detail
The gimmick: its just wide, not accurate just insanely wide
fake sense of wideness because it has a lack of ear gain
And no bass
and what are the cons on the LCD -2
Audeze being audeze
the con of lcd2 is that it lacks upper treble
it's easily eqable though because it has extremely low distortion
hd650 just seems straight up better than any of the 800s
ive been enjoying my qkz x hbb khan with eq
these bitches thump

just had to fill in the 2250hz scoop because im not a fan of that
i dont understand why so many audiophile headphones and some iems do that
it's not soundstage it just ruins vocal placement
Okay Ananda vs 650
You have them?
I’ve tried them, I don’t have them
Sound not good
Good build and comfort
Mediocre at best sound
Terrible for the price
Form over function
Hd800 gang
3k is definitely a ton
seems like the majority of good headphones are in the $300-1600 range
tons of wonky weird shit above that
Can I connect a Smartwatch and Bluetooth neckband to a Samsung Galaxy Tab A8?
Smartwatch and Bluetooth Neckband are not of Samsung
ananda easily imo

what frequency response range is the footstep sound in fps games like valorant?
like at around 6khz?
600 > both
depends on the game
i don't play valorant
Okay really quick q: my TV has a really tiny stand like maybe 5cm tall. And there's no where else to really place a soundbar but I want better audio quality. I COULD place a soundbar beneath the TV cabinet. I'm thinking of the Sonos Ray. Would I totally cancel out the audio benefits if I placed it right at the front underneath my TV cabinet on the wooden floor?
I don't want some messy clumsy wooden plank to artificially shift my LG CS 55 up a bit to put a soundbar in front of it either
damn good deal for thast
id rather have porta pros
tbh
id grab it
oh wait
2nd hand
lol
no
Anyone know what i can use to convert youtube sounds to like soundfiles for soundpad on steam
How does the HD6XX compare to HD600? Is it worth the $200 price jump to get the 600s?
I'm considering iFi Zen Dac Air + 6xx for a nice $300 upgrade over my current M50x + USB C adapter
no, not in my opinion
not at all
That sounds fine
i personally dislike 6** but that's a decent setup
i disagree
Ah, I thought I could save money on it by doing it this way
zen air is enough
Does it matter what the Zen Air is plugged into? 3.5 jack on PC, keyboard (piano), etc? I don't need to modify my computer to output good music, right?
you don't really
No
One last question then... If I want to listen on my Android, I know the Apple dongle has power issues with Android phones. Is there a good alternative?
Wait why do I have a nickname now
£150GBP budget, looking for high quality headphones + mic
dongles that are labeled as having a “cx31993” chipset
do what michael said
like this
hd560s with fifine t669 if it fits into your budget
probably wont, though its a good combo so do look out
The headphones alone are exactly that price
rip
use 3$ lavalier mic
:^)
Anything else?
hmm
Lmfao nahhhh
you underestimate 3$ mics
No I just prefer better mics lmao
I rest my case
tbf
if you save up for both of those options then you will get a great setup
if you can't uhh
consider dt880 250ohm
and he400se
U sound like Siri
that's not me
lol
Ohhhhh
its some audio engineer called audbol
microphone nerd
Oh lmao
Both of those r headphones
How abt mic
fifine t669 is afaik the cheapest decent mic you can get
seiren mini too
or mpm1000u

That looks more like what I’m looking for
why
not like its particularly better than anything ive mentioned
Everything else isnt available on UK amazon
ah
LMFAO
incredible
Yes
yes
holy shit I am so done
I am adjusting EQ and thinking I heard changes very clearly
look at tidal
its running in exclusive mode
its all placebo

so which of the amps is the bad one
because amps are not supposed to have unique sounds
sennheiser pc37x
alrighty, I am looking for a simple but decent DAC to run a couple of basic computer speakers that use normal speaker wire (+/-)
Any recommendations? Not looking to spend too terribly much on it
I have optical and 3.5mm out on the rear of my PC, and these are just stereo
not surround
You're not looking for a DAC, you're looking for an amp
Cheapest one that's good is the allo volt d+.
It's a very strange request.
in which case I wouldn't spend more than like 10 bucks on a random chinese amp board
I have one of these aren't good, but functional. Something like this would work just fine https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005003071536786.html?
Quite possibly.
Not an audiophile, have no idea on terms.
like this is a similar (slightly higher tier than the ali one), would work just fine
They're actually decent
How picky are you about noise floor
KLH 9362
and how loud do you need em
Doesn't need to be loud, but what do you mean noise floor
wait do you have a full set?
basically the background hiss
I have both speakers and could get the sub if needed
See if you can get a cheap 5.1 receiver or something used
I also have 7 other speakers but they aren't in this room right now, I am thinking they go to a TV later on. Those connect to a Harman Kardon AVR 330 receiver
run it in 2.0 mode
they should be pretty cheap
a receiver (especially the one I have) is really large for here
it's a converted closet, trying to save space
it doesn't need to be fancy
mmm
how annoyed would you be by a background hiss when nothing is playing
you could legitamately give this a shot
ehhh as little as possible, but I am not gonna spend $50 more just to remove it
Here’s what I’ve got
very cobbled together, but I got all of it for free
hence why I'm looking to also spend not-much
I did have it on the floor to the right of the chair and it was mostly out of the way
Will make heatsinks useless
this room is 24sqft tho
Bad idea probably
blow on it its fine
also idk should a probably class d av receiver be getting hot in the 1st place
it's from 2003 if that helps
most half decent class d doesn't get moderately hot
i somehow doubt that
if it's class D it basically just doesn't.
it can get warm, almost never hot
yeah
i don't think squeezing it somewhere would do any damage
alright now just.... where
U shaped desk mounted to the wall, takes up most of the room
3 computers
heh
it's packed in here but I love it
Wait
don't really know man
if you're not an audiophile
go invest in speakers maybe
shove it under one of the speakers?
likely creative pebble or some shit will sound better in such a cursed room
It has its main vent on top wouldnt that be bad?
cursed?
how so
small room?
Because it's not treated and it's tiny
so reverberations will throw off tuning like crazy
it's not like I cut a hole in the wall to put a computer fan in to stop the room from getting hot or anything
and resonances that will kinda mess things around too
sheetrock/gypsum but still
Concrete floor for now because of a slight flood, but that's getting fixed soon
carpet or laminate, undecided as of yet
was carpet but got flood and had to get removed
Carpet again. Laminate kinda sucks
rolling chair hates carpet
Easier to clean but it's colder
try living outdoors
you're really not helpful klaus...
Yeah true
I gotta buy a plastic sheet for mine....
I have one, but I would rather not have to use it
but anyway, basically anything will be decent for 2 basic computer speakers?
Wonder if I could just get an adapter for 3.5mm to speaker wire...
Or if I could find an amp somewhere
Or just buy a small receiver
All possible.
This one might be a bit dangerous but can technically work
For whatever the 3.5mm is going into
PC
so no
alrighty just connected the receiver again
temporarily, I think
but it sounds nice
but wow these speakers lack bass
Is it possible to use both a Scarlett and a presonus interface with one MacBook Pro using logic X as the recording software
(I have an 8 channel interface, but need one more input to get everything mic’d…I’m looking at getting a scarlet single channel that I can use for that and also I can use on my windows pc for my normal microphone - where I’d switch from micro-usb to XLR)
Whaddyaguysreckon? I have a Fiio K3s DAC/AMP. Would I be wasting money to get a set of HiFiman Sundara's??
I wouldnt be buying sundara when edition xs exists
And also sundara isnt good
You fucking what now? 😂
You're joking right?
Please tell me you're joking
Like you sound like you're not joking and that in and of itself is a joke
How do you know they're so good when you don't even have a pair
them: some youtuber said it
I've listened to a few friends/mutual friends pairs. But didn't know if they couldn't be powered by the small ass dac/amp I have or if I need to upgrade. Given they're low impedance as fuck they don't need more power. But they might scale with DAC's so that's what I'm asking.
On the backhand. You clearly have no idea what you're talking about so fuck off? The outright statement of "And also sundara isnt good" is idiotic.
Also. Learn grammar you fucking moron
impedance isn't even what does most to power requirement
Which is why I'm asking if my dac/amp combo can run it in peoples opinions
ffs
if they're willing to help considering your own message is 80% telling them they are an a-hole, need to f off, etc
most likely reason for saying sundara isn't good, is because it has enough issues to make it "fine" but not "good"
"isn't good" doesn't have to be bad
personally, I dislike it because its lifeless and dead no matter what it was plugged into
See. That's constructive. I don't dislike that, and I'm not going to be upset about that.
I disagree with you because I dislike headphones that are overly bass heavy and to me the Sundara's sound like an improvement on the Grado's I already daily
You asked if you'd be wasting your money. Not if they were power able
Which yeah headphones require piss power. Should be fine to run.
sundara isn't bass heavy tho
that's the point
So you didn't need to be a douche about it
Show me on the doll where I was a douche to you
Scroll up douche
Either way, I'm out. Clearly this is a toxic ass community
audiophile servers are much much worse
This what triggered you, @molten lotus ?
Jeez you're missing the mark by a mile
That's the first message I sent you, little dude
I mean, I have diagnosed Autism and even I think you're autistic as fuck
Yeah man idk
This might be a you thing
Perceiving animosity when there is none.
And then acting like you're a victim
idk which was toxic here
🦭
should've just left out the second half or so
See I think you are perceiving peoples responses to you as aggresion when its really not
All of your messages have be nothing but aggresive themselves when nothing was intended to be confrontational
No one was being a douche except you
Cayin IHA-6
is the logitech zone vibe 100good
Hello, are they better than jbl 510bt?
I own it, it isn't good
oh he left
this dude is amazing
don't look at his pfp
he argued for 5 minutes and already insulted 90% of the people in the chat
we need to have him back
what you need is him to change his pfp
I live for these guys
sundara good
He 4xx
sundara
also fun fact: if someone says they listened to a few friends' pairs, they're lying and haven't listened to em
real
Ok I haven't heard the revision
Maybe
But if you like bassy stuff... emu teaks exist...
just get a headphone that handles eq well and throw a harman bass shelf on it
you lose a lot of volume though
looks sloppy
i don’t remember its measurements
maybe paying 350 - 400ish for one isn't worth it but if you ever see one, worth a shot
