That's 10x faster than the g8
Yes the refresh isn't 240hz. But as testing shows over 144hz refresh is diminishing returns. That monitor that I posted has absolutely NO ghosting.
There is one slightly better but it's not ultrawide and it's not qdot oled
27" 1440p
Prepare for Victory with the 240Hz Refresh Rate & 0.3ms Response Time of the New 27'' UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor (27GR95QE-B). Order Now on LG.com/us.
If you get a 4090 you are throwing away money if you absolutely want nvidia 3080TI is the best for the price.
Sorry 3080
But that's an extra $200 for 20 or 30 more fps
damn idk
I have a 5800x and 6700xt and I get 400fps stable in val
I get 180 stable in warzone with max draw distance and max texture resolution.
hb this onehttps://pcpartpicker.com/product/b8dG3C/samsung-odyssey-g8-340-3440-x-1440-175-hz-curved-monitor-ls34bg850snxza
Telling you now the Alienware is 1000x the monitor that that is.
Look up ltt's video on the alienware
ill check that out later
Go to https://privacy.com/linus to get $5 off your first purchase!
Try out BitDefender Total Security for up to 120 days at https://lmg.gg/IbQSv
I hope you didn’t just buy a new monitor, because Dell Alienware’s new QD-OLED AW3423DW is HERE and it’s giving everything else in this price range a serious run for its money. It's high refresh rate...
then how bout the rest of the setup
And for keyboard https://next.wooting.io/wooting-60he
Or they have a 10keyless if you want a fullsize.
And for mouse. Gpro. Superlight deathadder v3 or viper v2 pro.
There are other amazing options in the mouse space but I have the viper v2 pro ATM.
i have a viper mini rn, but put a gpro superlight wireless on the setup
i dont have too big hands, but the viper mini is a lil small rn
That's a supremely good mouse I just changed from it to a viper v2 pro
If you like the viper shape the v2 pro is amazing.
yeah i haventbeen dissappointed by the viper mini
except for my cat biting the wire
its amazing
Then v2 pro it is.
Don't get glass skates though little too slick.
The Saturn mousepad is designed for those who want control while still having an easy glide. Named aptly after Saturn, it has a good amount of control with a little something special. Static friction is on the lower end of the spectrum for control pads while the dynamic friction provides a locked in feel without being "muddy". The surface itself...
The stock skates are perfectly fine on the v2 pro
whats special abt this
cuz rn im just rockin a mousepad from hystar
But https://lethalgaminggear.com/products/corepad-skatez-razer-viper-v2-pro?_pos=1&_sid=c6a25e36a&_ss=r
Would be an upgrade
1 pack contains 2 sets of Skatez. Corepad Skatez consists of 100% pure quality PTFE. Corepad Skatez use high-quality 3M adhesive."You can be sure that Corepad makes no compromises when material is selected and you always get the best quality with Corepad Skatez." Thickness: 0.85mm
It's a phenomenal mouse pad. And I am a bit of a gear junky. And so far the Saturn is the best pad I've used. Hands down.
Just get 500x500 or the full desk mat version.
Pro cs players are starting to gravitate to it and lgg is not sponsoring anyone.
2 on team liquid elige being the most notable are using it.
tfw audio channel
He's got a windfall and he came here asking about audio gear and then mentioned he was spending 3k too much on a pc
well 3 to 5k too much
how do you spend 3-5k to much on a PC?
that's like "I accidently went with a threadripper instead of an i9"
Plays valorant spec'd a 4090
until the 7000 series issues are fixed a 5800x3d is bonna be better due to not "detonating"
I guess an intel 13900k could be better
just do manual voltages, done
just need to enter 2 numbers into the bios and done
would have to be very lazy to not just do that
I thought certain motherboards were even not reading that correctly and upping all voltages by like .2
from what I know it was just auto voltages being garbage going up to 1.5v
that's what happened at least on my board and the many others in the servers I look at (like SFF servers because well, ryzen 7000x3D is good with its lower powerdraw)
set to 1.25v soc voltages and 1.25v controller voltage, and it only goes up to 1.28v (1.23-1.28v when manually set to 1.25v)
like on hwinfo stock auto voltages just pushed to 1.43-1.5v
one thing I do have on my board is it cannot read VRM temps
not like it matters when the CPU only pulls like 45-50w at load on VRM capable of pushing 250-300w...
tho for some reason people blamed XMP/EXPO
when I don't use expo or xmp
it still did 1.43-1.5v without anything done to memory
all I had to do is
Enable PBO, two cpu voltages set manually, done
someone would say "but that's gonna be hard"
but it is something someone could help you through in a few seconds...
its all just overblown honestly..
not something I would avoid going ryzen 7000 for or anything as its a quick fix
I was just seeing all of the issues and if I had to build a pc right now I would personally go with a more "stable" platform
Or if I could wait for the next gen of Ryzen
if you can wait there is no point to upgrading anyway imho
should only upgrade when you feel like you need to to be able to do what you want with the device
unless you have excess money you cannot get rid of
This wasn't for me this was for someone who posted here saying they were getting 10k from make a wish
make a wish sounds like a scam
In which case I still feel the 5800x for their stated primary game
which is valorant
is more than sufficient
how about an i3 with 3050
5800x3d
that would barely push 200frames
and probably wouldn't be stable
and if valoraqnt is the main game atm when CS2 comes out that will probably be on the list as well, so a little beefier GPU is in order
since the 6950xt clocks in at nearly 3090 power for $600
probably would be fine with like 13400f + 6600
imagine using an i9 13900ks + 4090 + 32gb of 8000cl30 overclocked memory for a PC only used for League of legends
true(ish) but a 5800x3d and 6950 will provide the grunt for a large portion of AAA games (unoptomized money grabastic shit piles)
AAA games vs EA's fifa, which is worse
it's a toss up for who is the biggest tosser there
Fifa: the same game for over a decade, have to rebuy everything, but its just changes that can be done with a small update
they are just rereleasing the same game for many years, lel
I mean seriously if most AAA game makers would just lengthen the delivery time you could spend some time optimizing
there is no reason CS:GO looks as good as it does and still runs at >700fps on my rig
(I usually leave the 300fps cap on)
the coil whine is atrocious when CS: GO gets over 500fps
I need to limit fan speed and PL to get rid of coil whine
and just whining from the fans
I already am undervolted
33% fanspeed 63% PL
and I am fine with high fan speed
64% PL starts to whine
would you be fine with high fan speed if it whines?
the coil whine is much different
fan just starts to hum
guys is edifier speaker good for vinyl im in a rtighht budget
Any good microphone recommendation for under 100$?
Any software that will launch up at start and will help a background noise supression? I was using nvidia broadcast but Im switching to radeon so idk
How much is hyper x duocast?
A bit over my budget
79.99
I guess its expensive in my country
Yeah Duocast
What is a good pair of non gaming headphones for mostly games and watching videos/movies
Ksc 75 is an outliers
But yes otherwise on the cheap iems are a better idea
As it's easier to drive and these days even the cheap ones have fairly good sound stage and presentation
As for why they are this cheap
For the driver it's a very mature technology and due to the large quantities both balanced armatures and dynamic drivers are made in they are quite cheap
And most are made in China so yeah....
they can be cheap. It's only been recent years that they've been cheap and that's because there's so many companies competing.
And also them not requiring a of materials to build and the ability to mechanise at large scales also helps
I mean iems always have been cheap
no???
But the cheap ones weren't good
Ah
Then yes
Them being cheap and sounding good has only been a thing since chifi
And maybe to a lesser extent Japanese iem manufacturers before that
Mainly chifi
But that was mostly confined to Japanese markets
it all really kicked off with the Tin T2 because it was like 35 bucks, build decent and sounded not garbage
"so many companies competing"
isn't it basically just a few chi-fi brands and not that many?
then the KZ something 10 pro
then suddenly we have a million different chinese upstarts
just spitting out 5 trillion iems every day that sound about the same for every 5$ increase
there's a lot
Like companies that are worth following atm in the budget iem space are like
KZ, Truthear, Tangzu, 7hz/Salnotes, Moondrop, Tanchjim, etc.
that's not few
my dad really wants to buy the sony HTA9 for his home theatre but i'm not really convinced about it tbh
mostly because we don't have a center speaker even from a TV since he uses an epson projector
Sounded good actually
Still have it with me lol
But that mmcx
Not really
Even kzs sub brands have independent goals from what I have seen
yea
Wait, modding a hd800s to have 3.5mm is super easy
Why didn't they do it stock as it seems they have more than enough space
send an email to axel grell and ask him yourself
its all to make money. which is exactly why they send you a high quality cable already in the box.
lightning is just proprietary usb 2.0 that they refused to replace until they were forced to
because they get royalties from every sale of a lightning product
well the fact that they put a point of failure on the lightning cable rather than inside the port was a good move
wait that was the old apple connecter
they replaced it?
starting with the iphone 15 theyre moving to usb c
i still prefer the iphone 5 design over the 6, 7, and 8
I'll sell you mine
the original iphone 6 was not durable
yeah
people were snapping them accidentally all the time
based
he just won't buy another phone
my dad just upgraded from the 8 plus to the 14 pro max
pretty based ngl
I'd use iphone had it not be for the restrictions
Rooting is very useful to me
I like it a lot
i dont see apple ever allowing that
checkrain was goated but that died with the iphone x iirc
iPhones generally easy to use since most features are locked
It's a shadow of it's former self
Yeah
Hence why they last super long
Compared to android
Android phones have everything unlocked so thats a headache for some people
i dont customize my phone at all so i dont really have an incentive to go with android
Yes
plus i dont want to have to root my phone to get more than 2 years of software support
Even flagships
They drop in performance but they are still very much usable
The most notable thing you will encounter is ui framerate drop
Lol
samsung's spin on android is aids
i wouldnt use an android phone without putting lineageos or something else on it
Android would be good if shitty companies didn't take the piss out it to exclusivize their shit
wowee dudes
look
xiaomi rom
its like basic android
but runs worse
omg samsung store
its like google store
but bad
android phone manufacturers on their way to take a completely usable open source debloated operating system and plaster it in garbage
Google is a good one for android right? And samsung flagships ofc
i wouldn't say samsung is good either
im not an indian phone nerd so I don't know it really well
but samsung software is pretty shit
samsung is goated hardware with terrible software
yeah
oneplus was kino at some point
But the flagships work well enough i mean
then they started taking the samsung approach soon enough
oneplus has had some great shit
I think oneplus was really good at the start
But then they took a turn for the worse
Now nothing() is trying to model themselves on old oneplus
Right?
apple is apparently trying to make their own micro led displays for the iphone in the future
that would be really cool because you could run them at 100% brightness 24/7 with no risk for burn in
Apple doesnt want to pay anyone else lol
i guess youd melt your battery life though
true
theyre trying to become fully independent
Apple battery life is really the only limiter on their phones
And devices
I have an air 2 kicking around
wym captain
Its battery is at 1%
apple has the lead in battery life despite having smaller batteries
Its been ~7yrs
Yes that is why i said limiter
Instead of con
yeah the 14 pro max outlasts the s23 ultra even though its battery is 800mah smaller
and their apple silicon macbooks r nuts too i love mine
And 14 plus somehow over takes 14promax
In real world testing
if your sockets dont spark when you plug things in dont speak to me
my power is next level
most likely because it only has a 60hz display
I can speak to u :D
True that
Honestly
I tried both out
And not much different
Difference*
it’s a deal breaker for me personally
Idk then
i originally went to buy the iphone 13 mini but after i saw how much better the 120hz display was on the 13 pro i couldn’t do it
I dont really care that much because most of my use is just consuming content and talking to friends and school work
So
what is the best free music player you recommend / use for PC?
Musicbee
I, every day, for multiple hours, while I play/work on my PC
offline, MP3-files, manually named and organized
thx
it was a jest
the most convenient way to listen to local files across multiple devices would be a media server like jellyfin
but that requires extensive setup
ye im just looking for a music app for PC, because i dont want to bother with Windows Media Player anymore xD
nah musicbee is where its at
good UI, fetches metadata for you,
moderate amount of customizability, lots of plugins
nice
its currently reading my music folder xD
takes a while
how much data are you plowing through
55GB
ah. are you using a hdd?
yes, its on my HDD
I know, SSD is faster, but for actually playing the music later on its fast enough
i´ll just wait
well its not just playback speed. Your music literally flies apart as the hard drive spins due to rotational velocidensity. Unless it's stored on an SSD, which only decays at 2kbps due to Half Lifedrive Syndrome.
never heard of something like this xD
also, its only until wednesday, then i get my new PC xD
So I'm looking for a new sound bar and was looking at the Samsung 990b but not really sure what's my best value for sound on my 65" tv. Mostly wach Netflix and play breath of the wild on it.
based
this
not getting musicbee to work
was my last reason to switch to linux
and after i got it working
i switched near immediately
This happens when I plug my vacuum charger in
Linux audio is 💀
been fine here
actually been real good
especially with everyone moving to pipewire
My Ubuntu audio is so fucked up
bye bye pulse and alsa
I need to completely reinstall at some point
ubuntu in general is fucked
they try to push their own stuff even though the entirety of the community went in a different direction
best example of this would be snaps
PopOs
TempleOs
i dont think that is llinux based though
but gotta play them fancy 3d games
Is fedora Debian based?
So does music bee on Linux support exclusive mode
better than windows honestly
routing audio in windows is legit 💀
there is a reason voicemeeter banana is lethal
What’s the best $100 or less headphones that DOES NOT use usb and USES 3.55 mm headphone jack?
$115
Oof
there's some koss stuff and the creative aurvana live, but those dont have replacable cables
id say save up for the 361 or save and wait for the 560s. it was on sale a little while back for $120
the stuff thats worth getting below them are build pretty cheaply to compensate for good audio
and, again, have non-removable cables
Oof
should probably save up 15 more dollars then
Ok well do you know m any good ones by like Sony or Microsoft or Apple or beats or Bose or anything?
Something that I’ve probably heard of before
if what you have heard of before is sony, microsoft, apple and bose you probably shouldn't buy anything you have ever heard of before
Wait what?
what
Break it down for me ?
tldr the brands you mentioned are trash except for apple with airpods pro 2s
therefore don't buy from them
galaxy buds are also decent ig
Ahhh gotcha
sony wf-1000xm4 is also a good option Ig
buds live and 2 are just meh. they honestly lack characters. buds pro / 2 pro is aight
in terms of anc? maybe. about everything else not really
sound quality and battery life is great Ig.(especially with ldac) Comfort is meh in my opinion.
well this was for headphones under $100 and for someone who specifically does not want wired.
oh yeah under 100 dollars then it's of course a bad option
well even compared to wired options then the xm4 is a bad option
id take a hd560s over the xm4 any day of the week.
I meant wf 1000xm4 which is an earbud
oh. yeah then definitely no
can i get a recommendation to replace my hyperx cloud alphas $300 and under for everything plz
audeze maxwell
or hd560s with a midmic or a elgato wave + boom arm
thank you
what's wrong with your alphas
audio randomly cuts off on one side
$200 usd
Wants wire
Nobody's perfect
How about this one?

9500 or 9600 is better?
9500
But it's still worse than the 361 and 560s by a mile
Is 9500 or Beats Studio 3 better?
why even mention beats studio 3?
almost anything is gonna be better than a headset with an FR that looks like this
try to think of something better to compare to, lel
doesn't mean anything if it beats the studio 3, might as well ask "how does it compare to raycon e25" or anything else messed up
I use computer to play music. The USB makes crackling noises, even with a good cable. How do I either:
- 100% clean that up
- convert the USB to coax to avoid these issues (i can tell for sure running it through something that has digital out, e.g a streamer) removes this issue
What is the “USB” device
Hey everyone what’s a good mic to go with? Nothing too fancy just to playing games with friends just want something good quality
fifine 669 or 683
klaus mini
klaus pro gen 2 when
I'd you can afford the beats studio 3 then you can afford the other two options I originally gave you which are actually good.
Hmm zeos likes fiio ft3 with the violectric amp that is the same as my amp
But he likes almost everything
Pretty sure Z will literally like anything so long as he can get his hands on it
Z likes anything that he can put an affiliate link to
only watch him for entertainment
too cursed for me
the way he talks is just... so incredibly creepy and cursed
I remember when I got zeos shilled into buying the sendy audio peacock
passion for sound shilled too
apparently sendy has a lot of unit variation
the treble just killed my ears
the unit I heard in the store was good tho
this is impressively bad
zeos shills less hard than joshua valour
honestly t2 looks worse
probably because it has negative bass lmao
itll sound really really unpleasant
it's like comparing dog poop to cat poop
Ghetto blasta 3.1 channel
Ehh
Looks like a dumpster fire
Isn’t it meant to be a studio headphone? Not a “more f’ed bass than razer”
holy fuck that is horrible
Trading a pretty good headphone for a potentially mid headphone? I dunno
The AKG K52 is my least favourite headphone of all time
Its so unbelievably bad im sure even Joshua Valour couldnt shill it
Hmm any good studio quality ones that are cheap
I saw the dt240s
Are they any good?
nop
“Studio” is a marketing term
you can get open box audiotechnica m40x from b&h for $85 if your budget is $100 or less
but the $160 options are a lot better, i would save up more money
Joshua > chrono for me
When a channel uploads videos but it depends on who does it that time if it is of any use
Chrono out here saying hd820 and dt770 10/10 tuning
i don’t value any reviewers’ opinion on sound quality
i just look at measurements and hear what people say about build/comfort
For me depends on what aspect
But I cannot trust a review from someone with opinions like chrono, lel
Basically just mkbhd opinions honestly…
that’s basically every reviewer
Who said “hd820 brings the god tier hd800 to closed back”
And used both
Imagine being so deaf you don’t hear the difference between 820 and 800
yeah 770 is far better
Still pretty messed up and makes no sense when 371 is a thing
Yeah you don't know.
why does it keep not updating my clipboard
guess i’ll save the pic
770 hate is over warranted imo
just fill in the 200hz hole and it’s completely fine
the 250ohm model is really bad though it has that bass hump like the senny 820 and dt1770
I need a good soundbar that i can also connect my phone with bluetooth to so i can play music on it. What should i get?
Mad that I said a headphone they were interested in could potentially be worse than the headphone they already have
Way too much treble for most people
Grey has never regretted anything he's bought
Nah
Any suggestions for a 2.1 system in the $300-500 range?
Mostly for music but I might also game on it sometimes.
HD215 tho!
I have money saved up i just dont wanna spend that much :p
Get some in-ears then
They're gonna have maximum value for accuracy without being terrible.
https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/steelseries/arctis-pro-wireless
anyone know if this is still available anywhere?
Probably not since they made the Arctis Nova Pro wireless revision
don't get it
worst headphone ive owned

the rtings review for it is good tho?
thats a completely different model tho, and it has worse ratings
ive only ever seen people say its better
the only thing to follow from rtings is the freq chart, their ratings are shit
they've been pretty accurate with other types of products and it looks like they do rigorously collect data
somehow whenever I talk to audio people, they just tell me that everything is "shit"
also ive had them before
the quality of the station is shit
something they did with the internals that causes a white buzz noise
maybe cause you usually bring up shit headphones
that might be so but not for audio
and a word of the wise, all except a couple of gaming headsets are shit
and those couple arent amazing, just not as bad
they use a borderline arbitrary frequency response target to determine headphone neutrality
And their percentages as to what makes audio neutral is also completely arbitrary
they have objective information and they chose to interpret that objective information in the worst way possible
if you want to read their measurements then they are good for that go on, but if you want to actually check the ratings then they are completely meaningless
the rating out of 10 isn’t useful for shopping but the measurements themselves are good
🥴

klaus: this is unlistenable garbage, they’re so sibilant and ring so bad that i want to claw my eyes out, fucking garbage headphone
klaus: measurements are arbitrary, this is a wonderful natural sounding hifi headphone. beautiful piece of kit. my tube amp really improves the warmth and soundstage. i recommend op amp and tube rolling until you get your desired sound.
Klaus is just lofi
real
Sundara is still mid tho
yes wonderful, now post it's decay chart
ok what headphones would you guys recommend then. Wireless, decent latency, preferably with microphone
audeze maxwell is probably one of the better options out there for wireless. maybe even the best.
but there are so many more better options for wired
what about something a bit more affordable?
pc37x is $100
but wired. but also its gonna be better than most wireless stuff out there
that's not what I'm asking for. I need a wireless one
okay then good luck 👍
Next best bet would probably be cloud 2 wireless
It's not arbitrary, they used their HMS in their critical listening room to create a diffuse field treble curve, and for mids and bass they used a harman OE target adjusted for their HMS
Issue is, that's good if you want a diffuse field-ish curve
but technically speaking that's not neutral to our ears
Unfortunately headphones is actually really hard to get right because of how unfinished the science behind it is
and closed backs make it worse
this is due to how headphones only bypass some of your pinna (iems bypass it completely)
and it doesn't help that most consumers are looking for accentuated highs and lows...
Rtings sucks for reviews of headphones
issue is, their bass target isn't Harman at all
Their scoring system is terrible anyway
They don’t even use 0-6 like ever
Even raycon e25 kinda stuff is still not even 3 or 4/10
So everything is very closely rated
They rate like those who do “10/10 needs improvement”
I would rate it differently anyway… bass is rated in terms of how close it is to target, but target is boosted
So a raycon would be better on bass than ksc75
I would change it to make bass roll off better than significant boost
Better to have lacking bass than 25db boost
Are sennheiser hd560s comfortableAnd are they big head friendly
Become an actual elf
Hifiman headphones can fit elephants
maybe
you know how people get cosmetic surgery to have their ears pointed
mine have a point already
I know, there are also those going much further
Third nose hole when
Or those who want to look like a cow
Hello
i need a headphone ( or headset microphone isn't important for me) for listening to music (Flac) and gameig
between beyerdynamic MMX 100 or razer Shark V2 or beats MIXR Limited Edition Collection or razer Barracuda X
which one is better for me ?
or is there better headphone or headset with this budget
None of the above
what is your budget and what country are you from
The lower your budget the quicker you will upgrade
So what do you suggest?
what is your budget and what country are you from
about 100$
iran
Sorry, a bit unrelated just a little audiophile thing where people will leap from one headset to the next forever chasing that perfect sound. Gets expensive if you don't settle
Its not a headset usually
buy it nice or buy it twice
“audiophiles” buy it nice over and over
or maybe that’s just grey
i see tnx for explanation
I am not very professional and just want to start
im not sure what is available in iran im sorry
Nothing
Can you give your general opinion please
:(
i forgot to say but there is HyperX Cloud II too
$100 or less:
AKG K361
Audiotechnica AT-M40X
Hifiman HE400SE
Tangzu Wan'er
Truthear x Crinacle Zero
$200 or less:
Sennheiser HD560s
AKG K371
$300 or less:
Sennheiser HD650
Hifiman Sundara
tnx a galaxy
how about my options (sadly i can't find these in iran)
i don’t know anything about the headsets you said
Cloud II probs
No 990 pros?
They’re shit
Really?
Yeah
But ive seen a lot of people use them
If they were $100 then sure
And say great things about them
And ive seen a lot of people use Razer Krakens
~150 USD
990s have some annoying high treble but it can be eq'd out
990s are a worse 880 and have no reason to exist
880s are coming for 200 bucks
In my currency (like 200usd but its showing my currency INR 16000)
When the 560s, 880, and 900 pro X exists the 990s have 0 reason to
i wonder why Amir's and Oratory's respective dt990 measurements are so different
How much should the 880s be and are they any good?
Crinacle's is completely fine
Is ~200 USD good for 880s?
word of advice: don't
theyre okay, i wouldnt get them over other options in that price range though
770s are good? Or not?
what impedance
theyre mostly a recommendation for people who refuse to buy something from a brand that they dont recognize
and no 770 are not good
250ohms
???
no?
I wouldn't pay 200 for it, they're worth about 120
but dt880 are very solid...
overrated as fuck
The 32ohms?
Theyre worse right?
250 ohm, all lower impedances are worse
👍
woud you say K612 is also overrated?
Are the sennheiser HD599s any good?
i rarely see people talk about k612
Im trying to figure all options coz i have to recommend a gift for someone to my father (they are doing studio work and need headphones)
theyre "fine" but hd560s is better
i wouldnt buy 599
560s are a little over the gift budget :/
Something around 120-150 dollars prolly
Max my dads gonna spend
560s goes on sale for $160 pretty often
oh I didn't notice tnx for your advice :)
Yeah but its a gift so time limit :/
F
guys, i have made a descovery. took apart some typical "beige pc speakers from the 90s" cuz the volume nob needs replacing and found the speakers where much higher quality than i expected
beige for the win
indeed
really muddy
volume nob replaced, only had a 100k pot in the right size instead of a 10k so the volume ajustability is only in the first couple degrees of travel but i was able to reuse the old nob and all looks good now
wish the driver circuit was a bit more powerfull for the speakers though, with bass boost on you have to have them pretty loud for the speakers to sound as full as they can
Had to order hd560s on sennheiser website since seems Amazon is out of stock
eq time
indeed
idk how you do that other than in vlc
got it pretty nice
these are the same as the ones I have
the pic is from an ebay listing the guy is selling them for £30 lmao
one thing that is interesting is that, on mine atleast, the dc polatrity diagram for the dc jack on the back is the wrong polarity
wheres the guy who uses skullcandy crushers

Im surprised ya remember i use crushers, ill listen when i get home
Should I get the KSC75 or the BLON BL-03?
qkz x hbb khan
Or what's the "best" IEM for less than 40$
tangzu wan'er for a safe "modern" tuning
Can you go to $55?
If so, truthear RED (Crinacle project RED)
Budget?
qkz hbb khan
similar to the truthear that golden sound recommended but it has a touch more bass and upper treble
hbb makes a new collab every five seconds
truthear crinacle zero and qkz hbb khan are the closest you can get to harman tuning with a passive iem that doesn’t cost as much as a monthly car payment
zero has a bit more than harman in 2-4khz and khan has a bit under
finally decided what id replace my zetian wus with, got myself a pair of khans
they arrive friday
i just got it and tried it out on my steam deck and i dont hear any difference (but im also unsure if i should)
the one that made the dirt cheap qk4 that was on crin's rec video till the point they changed the internal
Finally
If I'm used to using headphones with a DAC+AMP on PC.
Could I transfer this setup to a recent smart TV?
Im guessing DAC>TV is optical cable?
Assuming this all works would I see a audio difference good or bad comaaired to a PC setup
Optical is digital
doesn't replace a dac
you can try the 3.5 or if they exist, rca outs of your tv
what klaus is saying is with the same dac it will sound the same
given the digital output of the tv is not inherently fucked for some reason
it’s so nice having optical out on a tv
^
pass
hard pass from me
Not sure how good the output is on the device you were listening originally is, but noise floor should be lower at least
HBB has a collab IEM every like 10 dollars
bag chasing to the maximum
why did they have to put those star shaped torx screws on my amp
I want to open it up
its literally anti consumer behavior
it is yeah
my amp has ground lifted by default
so its not grouned via the interconnect to the dac
the housing is grounded via its c13 psu cable
but why would they ground lift by default
I mean, it can help if you have a ground loop, but otherwise you want ground to prevent noise
sell it and buy a90d
????
torx is really common
forces users to use the right size bit, otherwise it won't turn
I ain't selling my violectric v222 for anything
its to avoid stripping a screw from incorrect sizes like what philips do
can't help you there lol
The front is imbus, the back is torc
I love the pre-gain
Wish all amps had that
but you mald about it all the time
It's just the buzzing
But it's probably because of the ground lift
I will go to the store to buy some torx screwdriver now so bye
ifixit kit is a godsend
Also my power is just dirty af at home. It was totally fine at the office
I been considering getting a power conditioner but my wallet is recovering from my driver's license lessons
Before doing that it's worth considering what issues your power actually has.
Power conditioners can address high frequency mains noise, but cannot fix voltage fluctuations or mains THD.
Power regenerators can address all those issues but will typically be much more expensive.
Also, in both categories the impact on mains impedance/transient current capability can be a factor particularly if you're not using class A amplifiers
The furman power conditioners I was looking at do combat voltage fluctuations
Hmm
I see 3 jumpers
Damn, the very last page of the manual
well
that certainly did not help
I think it was the 4.4mm to dual xlr that was fucking things up
i just soldered myself an extension cable and it truly is silence now, thank you very much
buut i do notice sand falling when watching youtube, when pausing the video you can hear it for a second and then the noise goes away again
and doesnt really sound as good as my mixer does sadly
I need a speaker for a TV I just bought. Any suggestions? Budget is 200 canadian
How large TV and how far away are you sitting
it's a relatively low budget and a soundbar may be the play here
It's a 55 inch and like 8 feet probably or less
oh interesting, how so?
Oh then 5" monitors should do fine
can someone recommend some nice bass speakers for gaming/video/movies?
budget is around 200 cad$
I'm checking Canada prices lol
are you comfortable going used
yes. thats my preference
Mayhaps if I can find it
Oh two canadian 200 dollar speaker looking
since there might be better options with that price
OK
For both of you the recc stays the same: Can you see if you can find used LSR305 or 305p near you
i do see a LSR308 but its 450 cad
for Saber specifically: If you're after bass maybe a soundbar could work. They don't sound good but most come with a sub that can basically bass boost your music
ok LSR308 are farfields
not quite the right ones
i'd avoid soundbar bc of space issues
??
Those take less space
Soundbar are smaller than most good speakers
i can put speakers behind my monitor but i dont think soundbar can fit there
Oh it's for a monitor?
not a studio monitor but a desktop monitor
ye
then in that case if you're looking for bass... you're best off just getting something with a sub like the pebbles plus
even tho they're not great if your budget is 200
you'd be losing stereo and it'd be a bad time
can you find M audio BX5 used near you?
how much
100 each
that's not bad, see if you can talk the guy down to 80 each
it's a bit older but it'll do
you'll want a 3.5mm (assuming your TV has 3.5mm output) to dual XLR for the speakers
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/948891296256867/?mibextid=dXMIcH @haughty girder
I can get this person to sell it to me for 300, shipped
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
300 not worth
The pair
These are brand new
if they're brand new then it's old stock in which case I still wouldn't recommend it
we're on D3 now
Also remember it's canadian dollars
I'm Canadian.
O ok lmao
FB shows a pair of YSM5 for 150, YSM6 for 200 locally here
I'd recommend those over the BX5D3 even
wait just search up "studio monitors"
Okay
Thank you I'll pass
I just realized my in-laws are coming next week
I can have them pick something up from Toronto
Many more options from there
For audio, really? Yikes. And here i was thinking of how Toronto is pretty poor for audio gear (Montreal is miles better imo)
Hi
LET'S GO
Alright guys, hit me up with a good pc speaker with bass.
Purpose: Movies & Gaming
Budget: ~CAD$200
Condition: Used (since it expands the options)
Furman does make regulators but those are separate from their conditioners
got my aria out for warranty, prob gonna pay for repair i reckon, but we will see
in the mean time, anybody has recommendation for a cable upgrade
i'm looking to get rid of the microphonic on the stock cable, thats all
what would be a reasonable upgrade or downgrade from a Pioneer VSX-522 and klipsch hd theatre 500 that i only use 2-3 speakers for my desk setup
actually, is there such speakers with hdmi passthrough
Hello again
Between HyperX cloud ii and HyperX cloud alpha which one is better?
Anyone know about sound systems and connections and stuff? I have 2 small logitech subwoofers with very different ports and all and i'd very much like to know how i could make them work together. I have pictures of the ports and connections
it sounds more flat
I need some audio stuff
I listen to a bunch of bass heavy music on my framework laptop
which turns to be a bad idea
what do u mean boss
laptop speakers
guys is the g pro x headphones are good?
Get vanatoo t0's and some bass shakers
really. I wonder is your mixer messing with the Fr and you got used to it...
Fr?
get whichever is cheaper, they're the same with minor cable differences
frequency response or aka tuning
they are outside my budget
its not that big of a deal with getting used to it but i mean i have pure silence when playing nothing but its getting noisy when listening to something so its just hiding when nothing is played
Get edifiers and some bass shakers then.
Well they're $160 closed backs
Hmm there seem to be some people saying it's really unstable on your head and noise isolation is not that good
But the tonality is really good
they look like theyd be comfortable as long as they clamp enough to stay on your head
Do you guys know of any AM5/DDR5 motherboard that has an S/PDIF Out option? I can't find any unfortunately.
msi b650 tomahawk
Thank you!
Does that one support AMD 7000 CPU's?
yah
the top one
Thanks for the help
Fit is different for everyone
K371 is a little less "stable" especially compared to k361 due to being heavier and using the same (relatively) smooth pleather pads
But it's not bad
Noise isolation is even pickier due to the earcup seal being VERY variable, people who are a little chubbier in the neck area will have a better time finding a good seal
Sounds like you'd put thick boy aftermarket pads on them
if u wanna fuck up the tuning sure
Some people have replaced stock pads with brainwavz hm5, apparently the inside of the pads are similar enough that it doesn't actually affect it much. Although this is based on others' experiences, I cannot say for myself as I haven't tried
ooh that is awesome just what iw as looking for
LOL amazon...
any cable rec? i just wanna get rid of the microphonic on my stock aria cable
Why would you do that
I personally use tripowin zonie
do you need mic? Angled or straight plug?
cursed
It boosts mid bass a bit
it does not.
tho that's actually not bad
nvm you were talking abt the fabric pads
That Fr is for
Honestly I should invest in a different DAC instead
nah
Something with more attack
k361/371 don't scale
Oh.
Was debating whether to get a focal clear or hd800s
what are you after?
A good dynamic headphone
I liked hd800s without EQ on this amp. The pairing was really good.
oh interesting
This amp is a beast
😹
I wonder if it runs susvara
it should have far more than enough power for susvara
Seems to take up 43% of voltage and current that the amp is rated for
the better question is he6
earbuds vs headphones
depends on use case
i would feel goofy wearing headphones in public
i have a set of in ears that i use for going outside and then i use whatever i feel like at home
The thing is that for that 20% when I'm not at home I wish to lose the better audio
my issue is people steal pretty things
someone already tried to steal my wan'er and those cost like 15 bucks
people out here tryna steal ur $17 iems
someone stole my friends vk4
headphone recommendations?
budget: around $100
daily uses: gaming + music
Why does nobody want to buy my iha-6 for 400 euros
Why does nobody want to buy your iha6
There is an entire server of indoctrinated people out there who believe it's the best amp ever
I really don't know
try selling it for like 250
Coz ill take it off ur hand for free and u pay the shipping too 😄
I'm looking to buy a pair of headphones for my dad, very specifically for him listening to Classic Rock (almost exclusively), and playing his electric guitar. He's not picky at all, usually happy with any random $40 pair of headphones.
Trying to find something $50-$100 that works for the above, and preferably decently comfortable for 1-2 hours at a time.
I'm eyeing the AKG Pro Audio K240, but I did see they were considered rather below average in comfort. Any recommendations?
Which continent do you live in
US based, Amazon Prime is ideal, but whatever works.
I'm reluctant to lean too heavily into Classic Rock preference over comfort, as he's more likely to complain about comfort being subpar, than audio quality disappointing him.
That said, trying to treat him a bit, as he's used to 5+ year old $50 headphones at best.
The hifiman he400se would probably blow him away in terms of sound quality
Oh, I should mention he wears glasses, forgot that bothers him sometimes.
Oh he400se with glasses is not optimal
You likely want something with velour pads, but that can get a bit hot
Yeah, I just read that, which is why I added it.
And they will go flat over time
He also uses a VERY old setup. I genuinely don't know what kind of hardware he's rocking, but I know his stack is pretty old (I wanna say 30+ years). It's loud, probably solid, but oldschool.
Hmm, that's unfortunate too, as he's the kind of guy to hang on to these for 5+ years.
Easily, assuming they don't break.
Which is another reason the he400se sound great in ways, but worry me due to apparent QC issues.
Hifiman sorted most of that out
beyerdynamic DT 880 Headphones - 32 ohm. This top headphone combines the strengths of open and closed headphones. The complete sound spectrum is reproduced in detail, from the deepest sub bass to the highest highs. This semi-open, dynamic headphone is manufactured in Germany. Ideal for MP3, iPhon...
A bit over budget but will work good
And last long
Hmm you are saying the stuff he is plugging these in to has a lot of power?
I imagine.
At 4/10 on his nob, you can't hear each other talk.
He has a few large amps, but those aren't used, and a stack about 1-1.5 feet tall of various pieces of equipment.
He also has minor brain damage, and is very particular about anyone touching / changing that setup, so I never mess with it.
Really, he just needs something comfortable, that beats the hell out of anything you'd grab at Wallmart for $50.
I'd love to get the perfect pair, but it'll be lost on him, so solid comfort, solid sound, win.
Bonus points if Amazon, so if he doesn't like it, I can return / swap.
For reference, he thought my Sony WH1000XM3 sounded fantastic, despite his complete lack of interest in the noise cancellation aspect.
I believe those headphones sound solid, but noise cancelling is their game, so probably not amazing.
I'd go with the dt880 I sent
It has a 250 and 600 ohms resistance version, but the 32 ohms version gets enough volume basically from anything you plug it in to
Cool cool, I'll look into these options more tonight, thanks for the recs, appreciate it!
so does the 250 one
@spark pier which you should get
Hifimans tend to be pretty leak tolerant
No?
Apparently some of them are
hifiman edition xtra sucky
This is the Ananda and he400se btw
The subbass dip i get, the hell is going on between 10k and 20k on that second graph?
Utter nonsense because the guy who made these measurements was using a diy measurement rig
Even on proper measurement rigs you can't trust much at that level
Why not?
basically all headphones and in ears are fucked when it comes to performance in the upper treble
ear shape plays too much of a role in that high frequencies, and since everyone has different shaped ears, you're gonna have different results
so its about as accurate as "oh its a 15 minute hike"
or "yeah its not that spicey"
solid state in ears might be the only way we get head/earphones with smooth upper treble response
even in-ear response is different
since ear canals can be widely different from person to person
I mean, in that case speakers aren't any different, sound still has to hit my ears and go thru my ear canal
yah true but at least you can get speakers to have smooth response before your ear starts playing with the sound
whereas headphone and earphone manufacturers don’t give a fuck about the response up there
I believe you that most headphone mfgs don't give a fuck... But surely pro level gear and audiophile level gear manufacturers do better
nah you’d be surprised how horribly tuned some expensive “audiophile” headphones are
price doesn’t really correlate to quality in this hobby
The fact that i hadn't heard 17500hz tone until i was 30 prbly means a lot of gear is just poorly designed at that frequency
Oh ya, i just mean there must be headphone manufacturers that actually tune upper frequency properly
Cuz like. Why wouldn't you, especially if you're supposedly making your headphones to sound accurate or good as possible
maybe but it is pretty challenging to do so
I know that theres a huge difference between Laptop or cheap speakers and well designed and regarded headphones in that regard for sure
Forgot to reply, but I will prob not gonna need an in line mic
And either are fine
i threw my moondrop aria cable away after i replaced it
can’t believe they bundled that garbage
I guess also most ppl can't really hear the last few thousand Hz anyways, and it tends to contribute easily to things like sibilance? I do see a lot of frequency response curves dropping heavily at 15khz or so
Question though, why are fr curves so jittery? I've basically never seen a smooth curve
it’s not possible to have a perfectly smooth response with the driver technologies that we use
