like on hwinfo stock auto voltages just pushed to 1.43-1.5v

one thing I do have on my board is it cannot read VRM temps

not like it matters when the CPU only pulls like 45-50w at load on VRM capable of pushing 250-300w...

tho for some reason people blamed XMP/EXPO

when I don't use expo or xmp

it still did 1.43-1.5v without anything done to memory

guys, i have made a descovery. took apart some typical "beige pc speakers from the 90s" cuz the volume nob needs replacing and found the speakers where much higher quality than i expected

K371 is a little less "stable" especially compared to k361 due to being heavier and using the same (relatively) smooth pleather pads

But it's not bad

Noise isolation is even pickier due to the earcup seal being VERY variable, people who are a little chubbier in the neck area will have a better time finding a good seal

Trying to find something $50-$100 that works for the above, and preferably decently comfortable for 1-2 hours at a time.

I'm eyeing the AKG Pro Audio K240, but I did see they were considered rather below average in comfort. Any recommendations?

I'm reluctant to lean too heavily into Classic Rock preference over comfort, as he's more likely to complain about comfort being subpar, than audio quality disappointing him.

That said, trying to treat him a bit, as he's used to 5+ year old $50 headphones at best.

He also uses a VERY old setup. I genuinely don't know what kind of hardware he's rocking, but I know his stack is pretty old (I wanna say 30+ years). It's loud, probably solid, but oldschool.

At 4/10 on his nob, you can't hear each other talk.

He has a few large amps, but those aren't used, and a stack about 1-1.5 feet tall of various pieces of equipment.

He also has minor brain damage, and is very particular about anyone touching / changing that setup, so I never mess with it.

Really, he just needs something comfortable, that beats the hell out of anything you'd grab at Wallmart for $50.

I'd love to get the perfect pair, but it'll be lost on him, so solid comfort, solid sound, win.

Bonus points if Amazon, so if he doesn't like it, I can return / swap.

For reference, he thought my Sony WH1000XM3 sounded fantastic, despite his complete lack of interest in the noise cancellation aspect.

I believe those headphones sound solid, but noise cancelling is their game, so probably not amazing.

I'd go with the dt880 I sent

It has a 250 and 600 ohms resistance version, but the 32 ohms version gets enough volume basically from anything you plug it in to

so its about as accurate as "oh its a 15 minute hike"

I guess also most ppl can't really hear the last few thousand Hz anyways, and it tends to contribute easily to things like sibilance? I do see a lot of frequency response curves dropping heavily at 15khz or so

Question though, why are fr curves so jittery? I've basically never seen a smooth curve
