on the other hand whats wrong with using the tvs built in volume control?
balanced shit usually isnt found below 200 sadly
I cant plug digital out in my active speakers
what speakers r u using
grabbed a picture of its ass for reference
yes thats why you need a dac
but your tv should have a toslink or spdif
i see it supports non-balanced rca input
would that work with a cheaper single ended bluetooth dac?
I honestly dont want to run rca on a 5m cable
to my subwoofer
the tv has a digital audio out
what outputs does your tv have
that looks like in that image
whenever ive used spdif there was never on-tv volume control
from what i know it just outputs a flat signal to any dac you plug in
depends on the dac
it also includes volume info but the dac may ignore it
regardless yea you drive a hard bargain grey, coax spdif, remote, xlr all are significant cost adders
i found an absolute dope website that lets you download straight .flac files from Qobuz without needing to torrent
i put most of the files into spec and they all look legit
pog
it's great because it rips from a lossless streaming service so you have a much easier time finding songs/singles that has never had a CD (no need for ripping)
cant I convert rca to xlr tbh
maybe cheaper but unlikely
is yung gravy on qobuz?
that surprises me
yeah i found a lot of super niche songs that somehow had .flac files
topping E50
SMSL D6
hmm there ought to be something cheaper
some of the songs i downloaded are probably older than the .flac extension itself
a lot of them are probably not actual flac files
just garbage information mixed in to fit the bitrate of a flac file
if carmon doesnt know of anything cheaper then probably not
he's practically chat gpt in human form
lol i dont pay attention to new releases tho so maybe
the boards on aliexpress for 120 dont have remote control capability
for real
why does topping feel the need to make so many products that perform so similarly
Because they're cheap to make and sell well
Many of their products are nearly the same thing in a different chassis
i forget what its called but theres a rule
i think its called the hotel proximity effect
but if people keep buying them they'll keep doing it
isnt the L70 just an old A90 in a new box
What functionality?
coax spdif in
remote control for volume
balanced out
bluetooth optionally
to connect active speakers to my tv
just to let you know thats not exactly "simple"
I could run rca
but idk, dont want 5m long rca cables
that go into my sub, and then again from my sub to the speakers
so another 5m
dont see a problem with that 🤷
ive run rca 500 feet 🤷 its fine
I want to use them
man
fuck my tv for not letting me control volume of the rca out
I would compromise with rca if it let me
but since I now have to buy a dac anyways
I will give up I guess

all my money will go to the Violectric HPA V222
fugg that amp dude it costs more than double what your main headphones do
cop the dac for your tv instead
I need to upgrade the 800 euro cayin iha-6
because its stage is kinda small
even tho its bigger then the zen can
https://www.amazon.com/Digital-Converter-Control-Adjustment-Compatible/dp/B08K8MKRLF/
if you just remove xlr you can get down to $30
bass boos on remote 💀
it's a nice amp yeah but it just doesnt make fiscal sense to spend that much on an amp for edition xs when youre griping over a 200euro dac
im not sure about this, but they do look legit on spec
surprising
It won’t matter for a subwoofer
And the digi out will be a fixed full volume signal after it’s been converted to analogue so it won’t be suitable
why are there barely any reviews on violectric amps
you have no physical use for xlr
very few people know that brand exists, let alone are in the market to buy something from them
everyone who I know that has listened to violectric loves them
when sennheiser didnt make their own amp yet they featured their hd800 on the violectric
german amp
mentioning something being german reminds me of the dude who called sennheiser a (word for ww2 germany) company because it's german
i dont really care for the styling if i am honest
it sounds great
it reminds a lot of budget class d speaker amps made by fosi and other brands
i don't think it looks particularly good
I fucking despise the front panels looking larger look on amp/dacs
why do they do this
I hate it
make it a straight fucking box for the love of god
it isn't like a pro amp/dac that is going to get mounted on a rack
its a fucking home hifi piece of gear
REEEEEEEE
dbx 286s is affordable but mine took one static shock through my microphone and died
and they told me id have to pay money if i want it repaired
it was only like 3 months old
the audeze mm-500 really sounded bad btw
unfortunate
no stage, no detail, vocals sounded plasticy
have you tried the audeze lcd-2 or lcd-2 classic?
yeah
the 2 classic
it was nothing special
neiter was the lcd-2 closed and lcd-x
funniest thing ever is that the lcd 2 closed measures better than the other audezes in that price range
lol
well, closer to the target curve
lcd-xc 2021 has decent target adherence
certainly much better than the open version
id love to try lcd-2 classic though
their entire brand just has cope tier headphones
worse price to performance than focal somehow
🤢
i have no clue
it sounds weird af
that paired with the extremely small sound stage the lcd-x has
ultra cope
definitely
Hello, I'm currently using my Sony WH-1000XM3 headphones with my PC and I would like to use them (mic as well) on discord, but I can only use the headphones mic and audio in tape recorder quality. Can somebody help me with that?
thats how bluetooth works unfortunately
I can't use the mic when I connect them via aux @ocean pulsar
i don’t know if you’re able to at all
i think the mic is solely designed for phone calls over bluetooth on your phone
😐
you might be able to dual pair and run discord on your phone
but it will probably disconnect from the pc audio when you connect
so 🤷
unfortunately bluetooth isnt really built for that stock
just copped these and i must say the audio quality so far is fire 🔥
🔥
It can have a warm characteristic.
This is something you can easily find out with EQ too
i don’t think i want to self inflict torture
@lean grove I listened to a bunch of stuff at the store
wanna know what stood out the most
1200 euros
You haven't stopped talking about it so yes I saw

👽
gotta make good decisions
yeah stop looking at it
nooooo
wait this is the wrong edition
that costs almost as much as a schiit ragnarok dude
which is a 24w (for headphones) amp lmaoooo
but i know metal boxes with clicky volume knobs and heavy switches are tempting
id love to have the money to play with whatever source gear i want
professional knob toucher
Time to rob
Pillage, steal
24w is just too much
I saw a bunch of estats just sitting on a shelf without dust cover today, like even the flagship stax 💀
i think you have the right idea

get to pillaging
Hello, I am trying to find a pair of cheap headphones. By doing my own limited research, the best I have found so far are the Logitech G435 ($30) and Logitech G335 ($49) headphones. My parents were taken aback by the HyperX Cloud II headphones, which were $60, so I have to go even cheaper. If you have any other recommendations or if you are leaning one direction, that would be super helpful.
are you using a two or three strip 3.5 cable
G435 mic is garbage
if you're fine with that, g435 isn't the worst thing you could get...
wait what games
you might as well just get a pair of iems
what are iems
valorant, limited minecraft, zoom meetings
I have really sensitive ears so a lot of headphones make me feel like my ears are going to start exploding so i usually stay away from earbuds but idk
If you have any recommendations I could take a look
@haughty girder
honestly quite a bit of quality gap between anything and cloud 2 at that price point
2
yeah 2 strip 3.5 cables wont have a mic channel
Those were the ones included with the headphones
Okay thank you vm
so even if the mic works with 3.5 (I am not claiming it does) it will not with that cable
but there is also the chance the mic does not work with the cable either hence why they didn't include a 3 strip 3.5
what would be better
if you could get Cloud ii that'd obv be the most optimal
koss ksc75 with mic
best gaming headphone
lmao people on r/headphones really be wondering why their beyerdynamics sound so muddy or lack musicality
dampening
wonky ass frequency response on almost all of their headphones
Super Audio CD Decoder input plugin for foobar2000. Decoder is capable of playing back Super Audio CD ISO images, DSDIFF, DSF and DSD WavPack files.…
what's a great mic to buy that sounds great and crisp
Anyone have a spreadsheet for recommendations with alts to blue snowball
anything is a better alternative
be it 4$ or 5000$
ye but I need a guide
ykno
yeah you know
any who I got a guide
with cheaper options being toner Q9 or fifine k669 or t669
If I wanna buy mic 🎤 and mic stand for my gaming pc. What should I get
t669 is a direct upgrade
budget?
it is
consider mpm1000u too
i never seen the mpm1000u
but I have seen recent recommendations for it
so it must have came into the mic world recently
it just caught mainstream attention more recently
Should I get the mpm1000u
I had the blue snowball when it became mainstream years ago
and never switched off cus I had no reason to
Is your mic no longer adequate?
Blue snowball isn't a great value, but it's not terrible or anything
My budget for the microphone is $300 Australian. I’m basing my budget off the hyper x one being $299 here . So any around that budget .
LEWITT LCT 440 PURE is good
hyper x quadcast is hard to compete with
I don't recommend the lewitt
it underperforms quite a lot
it's generally bought for aesthetics over performance
Some people really like how it sounds
Ideally you'd be able to test them, but I don't even know where you'd begin to find that kind of thing
all of the earlier mics you mentioned are directly better than it
except snowball
which
toner Q9?
t669
or t669
I don't know of toner q9
yeah okay
same with mpm1000u
t669 is great
razer seiren mini
also personally the lewitt is horrid looking in my opinion
it's all boxy
shaped like a rectangle
i like it's look a lot
Is hyper x quad cast good or nah
not really
Fair enough
its meh
AKG C414 good maybe?
no idea
mics have a lot of diminish returns, unless you are a singer or a musician barely anything is going to matter
ehhh
something like a fifine will be enough
it's more for recording the akg
no idea I don't know akg mics at all
for streaming and voip, just stick to around 50$
I just want good microphone for streaming occasionally and playing games I definitely won’t be singing haha
t669, mpm1000u and seiren mini are good options
listen to demos and compare them yourself
btw seiren's non mini version is worse than the mini so avoid that
How is that even remotely close to your budget
That's an actual honest to God studio mic
In what context would you even mention that in the same conversation as a USB microphone
uhhh
ugh tinnitus
Wave 1 is sm better lmao
convo died long time ago
For the record, Wave 1 is based on a lewitt electret design
Any good earbuds/pods (the long ones preffered) that are black and look good? Price around 50$
which ones are buds
Has to be wireless?
yes
hey, which one out of Sony Linkbuds S, Sony WF-1000XM4 and Samsung Buds Pro 2
Buds pro 2 for sound quality, xm4 for best anc
and the linkbuds s? I like that they are small and super light
the xm4 seem a bit bulky
They sound like ass, thanks to that open ring driver thing
no those are the linkbuds
Oh hold one a min
the linkbuds s are diff
alright
Looks alright for the cheapest out of the 3 you mentioned
Flybuds C1 vs airfun air pro 2 vs airfun air s
None
why
What's wrong with the ones literally posted right above us
The nekocakes
ugly
Okay they're literally black sticks
case
Get whatever you want man. We can't help you.
do you know anything about how air pros 2 sound like
Cause i think they will be better than Flybuds c1
Airpod pro 2 are one of the best tws
Way out of my budget
Oh you're talking about those off brand ones.
These are all no name brands cashing in on the tws market
I doubt theyre gonna be as good as the nekocakes or anything else moondrop makes.
dont moondrop have any earpods without cats or any other useless stuff
Like there's literally hundreds if not thousands of these cheap brands literally just pumping out crap hoping someone will buy it.
Check their website dude.
Well i watched some reviews on yt and they say its good
So, soundpeats should be fine?
Is air3 deluxe any good? Saw them as airpods replacement
Get whatever you want, man
mmm yes today i will ask for audio advice and ignore every advice
So the nova pro are not good. Are there any good wireless headphones then? I want to use them for music(anime and soundtracks), gaming(I have a desktop mic so no mic needed)
I have the sennheiser 560s,Nari Ultimate, QC35. But I just can’t deal with the cable anymore.
Audeze maxwell
So I was wondering what is the main difference between pc37x and pc38x ... I know they are supposed to be one of the least atrocious headset but besides that what differentiate them from each other ?
Any others?
It's the best that we got at the moment.
should i get the toner q9 or the GXL2200 or the fifine T669
question for using a goxlr mini for a dual pc setup, can i run all my audio through my gaming pc? or do i need to run discord spotify through the streaming pc
does this look like it's filled with noise to increase the bitrate? i cant tell, it seems exceptionally grainy
so whats the verdict on swapping pads, i have my akg k371 and my stock pads are really worn out by now, so is it worth the price to go dekoni or could i go with like cheaper brainwavz option?
Ideally you want to keep the pads as close to stock as reasonable. Pads can heavily change the tuning.
Sometimes companies like dekoni show how their pads change the sound with graphs.
yea i saw that tho i have no clue what that means
from my basic understanding it looked like something like learher and sheepskin are more bass heavy? which im guessing is not what i want for these
it really depends ¯_(ツ)_/¯
Leather tends to make things more V shaped.
But then if you're using thicker pads vs thinner pads, idk how that'll change things
The type of foam will also change things
well i do like the harman curve the k371 gives, which was why i got them
I mean, k371 has fake leather, no?
no clue
i mean i guess you could call it leather, but its very thin and not much padding on the inside, like my ear is touching the wall at the back
Just buy he1 or smth
what is he1?
well i was not looking for a new pair of headphones 😄
59900€ headphones
well deffinitely not looking for new then xD
Do it
even if i sold all i owned i would not be able to
looks nice, but for that price i would not want to even try it
Atleast try
nah, think imma stick with just new pads for my k371 xD
i believe so
but i am not at all certain, it just seems that way to me
yeah it's a little hard to tell
most of my other flac files are smoothly gradiented
get a quality mp3 if you would like and compare it to that
it's quite clear for the cutoff in mp3 files
i haven't the slightest idea which of these look more off
heres a flac file that's actually a flac file ripped from qobuz
you see how there's like a hard ceiling on the mp3 file
this looks artificially made louder
bro idk man i got it from qobuz
I meant the mp3
this is just 441 khz audio in a 48khz container...
not the qobuz
look at the scales of the graphs its quite different
i got this from NCS' website
i assume the mp3 files they provide are the highest quality possible
im trying to figure out if the one i sent earlier is real by comparing them to ones im 99% sure are real and mp3s
i am trying to figure out the authenticity of this one
it looks super noisy so i wasnt sure
I do think it looks noisy but it might just be the music
its mathematically impossible
oOOOOF
couldn't say without comparison
unless your music includes test samples
it's just guitar

japanese audio engineers are literally the most scuffed audio engineers in the world
I have no fucking idea why they are like this
bro is cooking these poor guys for no reason
I will they do a shit job
some of them do pretty good tracks
its fucking 2023 stop recording shit that cuts off at 15khz for fucks sake
you download an album pop it in spek
notice half of the fucking instruments are in a different sample rate
i have 55 gigabytes of anime soundtracks
I have more
most of them are scuffed as fuck
!!!!
alright well if they're all like that i guess i can sleep happy
that is highly unlucky most of the waveforms i have for most of my tracks look pretty good
the top one sounds fine actually
i over reacted to it
the bottom one is like
the worst recorded thing ive ever heard probably
no shot
whereas other instruments cut off at like 18khz
kom susser tod goes so hard
and it sounds very obviously different
it does but its also recorded terribly
except the vocals
which are crystal clear
listen to it and pay attention to the highs of the instruments vs vocals
the instruments are very obviously audibly cut off in treble
where the vocals aren't
thats truly tragic ahahaha
idk why i collect flac files
i use spotify anyways
🗿
same considering the difference between quality mp3 and flac is practically inaudible
lofi source chain
yea no they arent
100% are
thats just your decayed hearing
everything apart from vocals and select few instruments sounds incredibly bitty
bitty
mm yes this music sounds like bits
grainy
you sure you arent just listening to a vhs rip lol
thats what it sounds like through his lofi source chain
is anyone aware of a way to generate basic wave shapes and then hear what they sound like after adsr modifications?
preferably online
A High-Quality Web-based Audio Frequency Signal Generator. 96kHz Sample Rate. Generate sine waves, sweep tones, noises and other sound test waveforms, online!
chewbs
what is your go to audio editing software
i used to use audacity but i bought soundforge from magix
SoundPEATS Capsule 3 Pro or SoundPEATS Air 3 Pro
yo does anyone have a fix for the logitech pro x center channel and LFE channel being very quiet and it overall sounding very tinny
center?
that's a headphone
yes?
headphones don't have center channel
they do not
they only have left/right
surround sound in headphones is a gimmick
there is no additional sound channel apart from l/r in headphones
there are surrond sound channels
no there are not
it is resampled into giving a surround vibe
it isn't surround
it's just dsp to make things sound more 3d
yes but when you are testing them theyre called channels
perhaps logitech's software calls it that
yes
ok that doesnt rlly change anything tho
well I need to establish what you are talking about when you say surround channel
do you just mean sounds that come from the center of the headphone?
the center of soundstage?
so when I test it it says left6 channel, which sounds a bit tinny but still ok, right channel same as left, then center which sounds awful so quiet and extremely tinny
what do you mean
when I use volume up and down it makes a sound, but other than that there is no sound
you have no audio from your computer in stereo?
well I do have audio, but only really distorted music, while the voices and stuff is almost silent
and also volume up/down test on windows works fine
I mean you are just describing the regular sound of g pro x
the issues you described are just your headphone's regular state
we can't really help you with much
maybe try eq'ing your headphones
how do i do that
google a tutorial on using equalizer apo
and also what other people's eq apo profiles are for the g pro x
since they can probably do a better job than someone who just started equalizing
What are some good budget headphones with mic
Do you care about mic quality
and also pc or console?
cloud 2
cloud 2 are good
but if you care about mic quality I would get headphones (no mic) and then get a razer serien mini or solocast
Any alternatives? Below $50 because here very bad economy
well yes but he asked for a headset
not from me no
$50 is like minimum
Getting a separate mic seems very unnecessary for me
usually
just a lot better mic quality
like that has better quality than really expensive headsets
Blackshark v2 i guess
would be ideal since good headphones don't come with mics but I wouldn't recommend it for a budget setup either
that's pretty bad
I would just save your money
i would recommend getting cloud 2 like other guy
you could try and find someone on facebook marketplace
or ebay
those aren't headphones
there are decent in ears with mics if you want which will sound better than any headphone you can get for that much
but they aren't headphones like you asked
I see
OK I got my pc setup and got Bluetooth so I have to ask
For amazon music HD should I use my hyper cloud 2s or my Samsung galaxy pro buds 2?
doesn't matter windows bt codecs are all old and ancient
My god my earbuds are not playing nice with my pc
It's either that or amazon music on pc is crapping it self
It's put my earbuds as stereo
wdym
i am in pain
So the pro buds 2 can do 3d audio
But for some reason on my pc they are very glitchy
i have a 3.5 with a 1/4 inch adapter, i need 4.4
Audio is really choppy
So the audio in one side cuts out
And pops back up
And it happens at different intervals for both the left and right earbud
you receive stereo from your phone as well
not surround
your issue is your audio was likely being set to mono
go into sound devices, there are two playback devices named as your tws
one of them should be stereo, other should be mono
if it doesn't change to mono, go to recording devices and select a recording device different than your mic
Still getting same problem
The audio keeps stopping in 1 and going to the other side
And keeps switching
Hello tech tippers , does anyone know if a integrated sound card from a motherboard enable surround sound ? I’ve got an epos 550 and the 7.1 dongle is dead and they don’t make them anymore.
I’ve been told the solution is to get an external sound card. But I’m wondering if there is a way to just use the integrated one
https://www.amazon.ae/gp/product/B087Q7CKQ8/do i need 3/8 to 5/8 adapter to put dis on a boom arm?
Fifine K730 USB Desktop Microphone F/ Recording Podcasting Condenser Microphone is your computer's perfect partner for recording vocals and acoustic instruments. Plug 'n Play USB Microphone: Improve the Sound of Your Audio Projects. Compatible with PC and Mac: Ready to use when and where you need...
Can someone help me pick out a pair of headphones
1: just need headphones under around $500 Australian dollars at most or less (if its worth it)
3: I have a cheaper audio interface which is the UMC22 and a dynamic microphone
4: My room is quiet except i can sometimes hear the tv from upstairs but not much with headphones on.
5: I have only had "gaming" Headphones like the logitech G PRO headset and Rig 800HS wireless
6: I listen to rap, edm and pop
7: over ear Headphones
8. They can be wired, wireless, i dont really care as they are for the computer
9. Probably Black and thats about it
can some give me advice for what speaker i should get for a dual 24" monitor setup
you want sennheiser hd560s
you want genelec 8361as
Any big fans here of the Razer Tiamat 7.1 v2 (or original).
Headset was notorious for its configuration to get the bass working but they seem alright once you play with some settings.
Seems like a dead product unfortunately since it seems any crusty to quality 2.0 headphones can just use the windows "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" app (Surprisingly good)
Do you guys think Dolby Atmos outright replaces 5.1/7.1 setups now? Assuming there is enough Dolby Atmos content on the for it?
Or is Dolby Atmos just some "turn the volume louder so it bounces off the walls and feels 3D" virtual surround sound marketing crap
I was thinking a sound bar
ah idk anything about sound bars good luck 👍
Thx
what is the best pair of headphones(no mic) for around £50
can you do IEMs instead
what is an IEM
in ear monitor also mistakenly called earbuds
Oh
i got recommended them or hd650s or dt880
they're all good recommendations for first headphones
might just look at more reviews
you're gonna go insane watching reviews
they're not gonna give you the definitive answer you want. you're gonna be tearing your hair out trying to figure out whats "best" when you dont even know what you like
need try them on and see
theres an audio place near me that might help with the choice
You need to listen to them with music you like to know for sure what you want to buy and keep
yeah will they also be good for games?
K702? @lean grove
those three headphones are the only headphones im gonna tell you to buy.
and the k702 isnt one of them
ok thanks also how can i eq them on my pc

He...
How good are those ?
worth their price
Really good? Is it worth it for gaming?
They look sick as hell ngl
If you said "I need the best speakers at around $100" I would say get edifiers.
But there's better stuff out there assuming you can pay more
Then these are gonna be good for you.
Sound good to me then
For gaming maybe creative pebbles with the sub might be better.
But edifiers are still good for the money.
Any good speaker will work for me i use shitty logitech one until now
anyone know a good pair of headphones (no mic) for around £50
creative aurvana live or koss porta pros
these ones?
yeah
thanks sm
best headphones for cannibalism?
r70x
Imo for cannibalism you should either use iems or just speakers
Klaus can't afford speakers
klaus can’t stand high fidelity
any time he hears something hifi he goes into cannibal mode
personally I listen to all music in a 1998 ford taurus as the audio engineers intended
the real challenge is finding out what kind of vehicles engineers and artists daily drive to determine the intended listening experience
Listening to songs in higher end cars is actually a interesting way to get a new taste of music
Hearing songs on the 31 speaker burmeister stereo in the new S-Class is a surreal experience
yeah, car speaker systems can be excellent
I'm jokingly referring to the fact that music is often designed to be listened to on consumer level hardware, though
Oh ofc
The burmeister stereos in Mercedes and mark levinson stereos in Lexus’ are honestly insanely good
For having to compensate for the downsides of being in a car
iPhone microphone obviously does this 0 justice but this stereo really only lacks deeeep sub bass, but can easily push into the 95+DB range with 0 distortion
somehow the stock soundsystem in our 2005 buick slaps
shit vibrates the car if you crank it too much
iems are overrated for cannibalism
conducts your chewing
Got a steal of a price on this JBL Quantum 300 headset recently:
Retails for $120 CAD!
And was brand new! Wasn't even open box.
You could say I only paid a "quantum" of the price. 😉
I mean, "retails for" and "how much it is worth"
is quite different, especially when you post a headset in a chat with a bunch of people who likely would say it is worth less than 40$ because you can likely get better microphone and better sound for 40$
but idk about JBL...
they've got some alright stuff and some terrible stuff
idk if they boosted the bass to the moon here again or kept it fairly neutral like a bunch of their stuff
just see if they screw in and out
ok
im gonna buy them and i wanna know what cables to get
it looks like there is a cross drilled hole in there
and speakers pretty much always have the same thing
ah
what would they connect to
An amplified output
do i need some special thing for it
ah
for speakers not guitar
and would the amp connect to my pc?
would this work??
https://amzn.eu/d/gPDi6MY
could i just get one of these and connect it to the speaker like that?
yea
the amp would connect to ur pc with that
ah
also
about the amp
do you know what the power rating of the speaker is
and how many
each has two connections
the two brass things and they go to the amp
would i be able to use this
im gonna try and and ask if i can buy just one
i cant buy the speakers, the amp and the wire
what are they for
tv or pc or smth else?
music
those are kinda overkill then
unless you wanna blast it
im gonna blast it
oh ok
i love loud music

easiest thing to do is to find a bundle thing
is that usd
thats a fair amount for second hand
yea
you could go a bit smaller
meh
and find a bundle
the cheapest and its local
ok
i cant go far
how much is the cable on amazon
like £3
is there anywhere you can snag some thick copper wire from which is like 4mm diameter?
of the copper obv
Anyone know how I combine audio from PC and PS5 to a single headset without using the controller jack? Is there a USB mixer or something I can buy?
no
@cobalt mountain i did not need a 1/4 inch adapter

What are you even talking about you sound insane
i was just reading what it says on the spec thing
1.25w at what ohms for what headphones
my guess is 1.25W RMS is way overkill
i can run my dt770s under a milliwatt if i match the impedance properly
nah you need 5w per channel minimum
hope that's sarcasm
yeah i actually meant 50w per channel
kek
fr though idk why people buy DACs that output tons of power for high impedance headphones
if you actually match the impedance you need basically no power
dacs are pretty standardized
2V generally
my crystal radio can run 4000 ohm headphones no problem, and that's probably microwatts of power
i'm not sure what the drivers in those headphones are, iron something? its an iron disc sitting on top of 2 electromagnets inside a bakelite housing
invented long before the dynamic driver
Sometimes they like to make it a little higher to improve their SNR numbers.
My dac goes up to 2.5 volts
is the hyperx quadcast worth it or is there something better for equal value
fifine 669 or 683 are better for less money
Could anyone help me with a audio issue?
Ok so, my headphones sometimes have very low volume, i think it has something to do with my speakers but can't pinpoint it
is there any hidden settings in windows or something that i'm missing?
Reboot always fixes it but it only happens after using my speakers, constantly rebooting is a bit annoying though
What do you mean use your speakers. Are you switching the output device in Windows or are you unplugging and plugging them in
unplugging 3,5mm jack and turning speakers on
Hmm. Might be a driver issue. Try reinstalling realtek or whatever your mobo uses.
alright ill try that thanks
thoughts on this as a decent usb mic, largely for discord and stuff (not content creation)? https://hyperx.com/products/hyperx-solocast-usb-microphone?variant=41031679312029
yeah its decent I dont know much about microphones honestly I use one of these and it's more then enough and it sounds good to me
hang on
ah k
this thing is 9000x better then what im using for sure
also it's pretty cheap most mics are in the $200 CAD price range and it's $64 CAD
the one im using is $20 bucks it looks like lo l
this ones a good example its $200 a pop
Yea the one I’m looking at is just a cut down version without gain slider, multiple pickup patterns, or the fancy vibration isolating mount
just get a fifine
or mpm1000u
As promised awhile ago, my headphone collection, only the a40s are still fully intact
Best headphones
For $150 a40s are great
Anyone got suggestions for some studio monitor speakers for a small-ish room? I want it to serve triple duty as a music thing, bass amp and drum amp (both are electric). It doesnt need to be loud, considering it's at my desk. Also, would it be good to add some sort of barrier between my desk and the monitors?
Right now im looking at the edifer mr4
Pls ping btw
It's alright, I do like the seiren mini more tho
k361 for sound, srh440 for reliability (k361 hinge is still a bit scuffed), k361 should be more comfortable due to the thicker pads but srh440 is so much lighter and clamping force is far lower
but that means the pads don't do much
what budget
they're okay
really bassy
I prefer CAL! SE more than the A40 for bassy headphones
for accurate headphones k361 and k371 are far better
cheap and 200cad don't go together
for CAD I wouldn't pay more than about 100 for a usb mic
samson q2u is at that price
I actually am not a fan of the Q2u
especially given in Canada, ATR2100x is at that price as well
and so is the elgato Wave 1 which is actually a lewitt electret
That’s fair, I enjoy the quality though, they feel nice too
@haughty girder I noticed you ignored all the broken headsets and the stealth 600s lmfao, how do you feel?
I hate turtlebeach with a passion
They were fine
But yeah, not the most comfortable, and not the best sounding, but they worked until they broke
Same point of failure as the other two so far
Always on the left side where you extend or retract
Sorry, if it could be around 100 that would be great, however i can go up to 120 max
Are there any good wireless headphones? Which aren’t the Audeze Maxell. I can’t deal with cables anymore. I don’t need a mic, but I’ll be using them for some PC gaming. I already have HD560S, QC 35, and Razer Nari ultimate.
audeze maxwell
Any others, those are not for me I feel. I have big ears and I prefer oval ones.
they're oval
Huh, but they are sold out
they're on backorder rn
I think audeze said that they expect to ship out a batch late may
The general census among reviews is that the bass is neutral like you said. Also, where could one find 50mm drivers with JBL quantum signature sound, leatherette memory foam earcups and Discord certified mic for $40 retail? I would honestly love to know.
you wouldn't want the same sound if they are blasting bass with generic mediocre gaming headset mic
when you can get earphones that have better sound than 99% of consumer audio
and microphones that add up to 40$ total that beat the mic of 99% of gaming headset mics
no idea who those reviewers are anyway...
enough reviewers saying raycon has balanced sound, lol
I'm honestly an advocate of using an external mic over a headset's mic, regardless of said headset mic's quality. That's just simply due to the fact that we cannot change the laws of physics. A small condenser capsule a few mm in diameter will always be far inferior to almost any proper external mic's capsules.
haven't heard them tho, and knowing JBL
they could be good...
some of their wireless stuff has pretty balanced sound
different story if it were razer, steelseries, etc
who are entirely aesthetic and zoomer sound
for that EDM, Rap and Dubstep
Currently using SteelSeries Arctis 1 and Blue Yeti mic on a boom arm.
Blue Yeti used to be so insanely overrated
Interesting you say "used to be". May you elaborate?
with razer and hyperx having released
less generic reviewers are recommending yeti (I mean, it is old)
and more seiren and hyperx quadcast
tho people here wouldn't recommend the seiren, most here instead say seiren mini is better
There are many subjective elements that go into people recommending one mic over the other, however there is also the objective reality that people need to discover any given mic can sound better than it does out of the box if they just take advantage of being able to tweak the sound profile with either native or third-party software, adjust gain control, soundproof their area, use a pop filter, experiment with the proximity of their mouth towards the mic, the angle of the mic itself etc...
subjectivity shouldn't be there when recommending audio devices
if it measures like absolute dogshit, there is no saving it
that's fundamentally impossible
audio is by nature subjective
no
some people will hate how they sound on a c414
does that make the c414 a bad mic?
that's called enjoyment
By subjectivity, I was referring to the fact that people have different standards and different hearing ranges.
audio quality is entirely objective, something being accurate
not heavily distorted, etc
that's not quality...
that's you not enjoying it
sound reproduction is the quality aspect
you not liking it, or liking overpowering bass
is the enjoyment aspect
even if it is dogshit, you can like dogshit audio over good audio
doesn't mean the audio quality is better
surely, there must be a way to objectively determine it using the super duper objective sound quality metric
you can measure it, tho it would be entirely "how close to your actual voice is it" and such
not that I think that's good for all use cases, similar to how perfectly neutral is not best for all music, more so a range it should be within to not have any big issues with the sound
the usual being able to isolate your voice from the background exists too ig
but idk if that's software or hardware, lel
don't look into mics much myself, as I don't speak English so I do not have any use for one
When it comes to professional recording mics from brands like Shure and whatnot, the user's voice type/vocal range is a determining factor as to whether or not which said mics is "objectively" better for each particular person.
At least, my research over an extended period of time has caused me to realize that.
if I were to get a mic
I would honestly just get a lav and something like rode's wireless stuff...
probably good enough
You can speak your native language in a mic though, can't you? Lol
yes, but its useless when you don't have any real life friends
I don't even know anyone outside of health care and family
what happens when you are in health care since 5 years old:
can't speak english, only type (not write, can't hold a pen, lol)
Well, I hope you get inspiration to improve in speaking English (if you want to of course) and get plenty of opportunities in your personal life to network with other people and make some lasting friendships. 🙂
I see the phrase "audio is subjective" used all the time to defend bad takes. It's like "yeah well everyone's entitled to their opinion" in an argument. Okay whoop dee doo.
certain aspects are, others aren't imo
sure, there are objective portions of audio, and it's entirely possible to determine that you will very much dislike something based off of some objective metrics
only annoying thing about measurements is
you can measure if something is terrible, not really if something is actually good
at most usable by being balanced enough
The thing I stick with is that audio philosophies are subjective. What you think a pair of speakers or headphones should sound like or how they should behave is subjective. In the sense that there's a lot of answers and they're gonna be different for every person.
But once you define those philosophies, you're able to start being objective with them
^That's a fair analysis.
replace "audio" with a word starting with "re" and ending with "gious"
would still work
And where I think it's most important to not be subjective is where you know the least.
If you have no idea what you want or whose subjective analysis you can trust then you're more than likely gonna wind up with shit.
But if you go with something that has been analyzed to be fitting to this target curve, or has a reasonable amount of sinad, then you're a lot less likely to be led to something terrible.
Very few people actually look through religions until they find one that fits them. It's almost always indoctrination.
I just avoid em
too hard to deal with
Pascals other wager. Try not to piss off any potential gods just in case.
the only god according to our current age: anime girls
is that why moondrop is successful
probably
Honestly it feels like the moondrop waifus are psyops
Better than real life at least, lel
They don’t walk around looking like they haven’t slept in decades
Okay fellas, how about we switch the topic back over to audio? This is the audio tech channel after all. Lol
Just don't want you guys getting in trouble with the mods due to server rules number 3 and 4.
If it bothers the mods they will let us know
Let’s talk about the sound I made a week ago when I accidentally cut my finger with a blender
Otherwise there's no reason to mini mod when there's no conversations being interrupted
Getting a free waifus with my earbuds is about as enticing and getting a free gallon of diesel fuel.
I have no idea what I'd do with it.
I prefer my women with 3 dimensions and more than one personality trait.
I prefer mine not looking like men with make up or make up making them look 2-4x their age
Like about all do
Tfw an 18yo with makeup looks older than my 40+ year old mother without, mostly because doesn't look sleep deprived to hell
Anyway, too far off topic, soz
just date your mom
I'll date your mom, con-pin
I know a hot single mom near me whose kid has campfire Andromedas
I wonder if he's on any of the discords
Become her kid
I don't think it works like that
It does
Maybe in Denmark where you live, con-pin, but not in America
Netherlands
Same thing
thanks, then i'll go for k361
just wait for a bit, it's not a purchase you do every day
I think you have difficulty understanding the word "like"
like is subjective
quality is not
there are objective parameters to quality in terms of fidelity
to me it reads like "If the average person doesn't like a susvara but does like a raycon, it means the raycon is better, because liking = good sound quality, not liking = bad sound quality"
Imma just separate enjoyment and quality... I prefer lacking bass in most cases, but I can't say that's better than neutral/slightly boosted hard slamming clear bass (slam, not rumble, still wouldn't agree rumbling bass is good)
give anyone a susvara for an entire day and no one would pick raycons over it
this falls under people's listening abilities being low rather than enjoyment, they just pick whatever is familiar to them
I would pick a susvara over anything in most cases
for general use
probably not...
most things require shitty audio hardware, lol
whats yall opinion on the k612 pro?
Imagine expecting a good sound quality from headphones
my opinion: its ugly, but haven't heard it
yeah fair
I was considering getting one
K612pro are fairly neutral
Bit elevated treble and it can be painful for some people
Mids are good
Bass and specially sub bass are recessed ... there's bass but it's not a bass head headphone, it's still really good for electronic music
It's a bright and detailed headphone
Imaging is good but there's probably better out there.
4x base instead of bass
Yeah auto correct stuff
I can't imagine classical music with the low frequencies being cut off
I can, because there’s enough classical music that doesn’t even have bass frequencies
Violin and flute for example
Different for orchestral
But for like piano, violin, etc
Meh… not really needed much
@dry stratus If I'm just listening to music and gaming, for around 400AUD, what would be the best?
No idea, but for more info
Wireless or wired fine?
idm
Built in mic needed?
I can get one later
Just asking the questions others would have to ask
yea
Changes the answer a lot
they are not cut off, they are just recessed a bit ... nothing that some light eq can't fix ... they are quite good for classical music.
Hello guys, I am in desperate need of help. I have this speaker home theatre system which i want to shift in my other house. Theres no way for me to remove the wires soo I cut the connector pins which connect to my sony home theatre.
I dont know which wire to buy to extend the wires now. Can someone help?
My speakers say Impedance: 3 ohm, does that matter in the selection of the wire?
Too bad they require an amp
they are fine on a phone
I used to own a pair and it sounded real bad straight out of my laptop
Got a small dac amp and it sounded so much better afterwards
galaxy s8 headphone jack is powerful enough to push them to painful level
How loud it gets does not mean it is being powered properly
it still sounded good
I could push them to loud on my laptop but going from laptop to amp it sounded just.. better
no quality loss vs what I hear on the magni 3+
I haven't tried them in a notherboard headphone jack tho
Just means your phone is cracked
well they used to be good for that yes
