I recently got the DT 770 80Ohm, should I install any softwares?
Other than EqualizerAPO and peaceGUI,
and those are optional for when you wanna try to remedy how bad that headphone sounds
How bad of an issue that headphone has*
Doesn’t sound too horrible, it aint a skullcandy or raycon
The issue is how it sounds
Im not going to be soft
Still too big of an issue with its sound to recommend it tho
Yes
Fixable at least
But might as well get the akg
Cheaper and doesn’t have the issues
Its tuned like its 50 dollars
I would easily take a KSC75 over it
Same
I would literally pay 100 dollars for a ksc75
Also im ngl, the audio channel in this server is kind of a shitshow
Bose qc45 only one I would take over it out of the high end anc
Was not prepared for this
A few regulars and a lot of randos with consumer audio, its ltt after all
Average age of 14
Just wait for a certain few regulars
Then fight
About which is your favourite and why the other person’s favourite is shit
My fav: he6 and sus
Your fav: hd820
"Oh look guys we put gorilla glass on our headphone, great acoustic properties, no way"
You love it tho
The moment a reviewer says they liked it, I stop watching them
Chrono be like:
Who liked dt770 and hd820 both
Yea chrono has the worst takes out of the hp show guys
He really likes the 770 for whatever reason
Idk who’s worse, he or zeos
Bing bong noo
Depends on price
Around $300-500?
They range from free to like 6000 or smth
Idk, not an iem person
Oh
When you say earphone do you mean IEM or headphone
Aka iem
Ah yes that
Will probably have to wait for some IEM guy here
Only one I know with Iems is @unique wind
still leagues better than my old heaphones lmao
Still not good for the price tho
any recommendations on dac's ive been thinking on the Focusrite Scarlett Solo are there any other recommendations? dont need anything crazy just need 1 xlr port for a mic and then a headphone port for my headphones
preferably something small thats why ive been thinking abt the Focusrite Scarlett Solo
yeah i couldnt find anything with a better soundstage with the same comfort, or atleast from what i was doing... mostly using these for games so
Dt880 was an option for games
Depending on how noisy, the moment you turn on any sound you wouldn’t notice it
They isolate pretty alright
Not an hd800 which has basically the same noise level with and without headphones on
dt880 is like 75% closed 25% open from what ive heard
nowhere near as open as a hifiman
Dt880 iirc is semi open. While a lot of hifimans are open backs
Expect some noise bleeding outside but it wont be as bad as full on open backs
Not best necessarily but my personal favourites for that price are the blessing 2 dusks
Alright
And for headphones around 300, r70x are the nicest sounding ones I know
Mhmm i see
Ok im coming clean. Im not really a newbie
I have tried the b2 but found them a bit too v shaped. It has good treble extension but the lower midrange was too scoopy.
Sub bass was frankly not to my liking. It has rumble but there wasnt much texture if any at all.
@slim mason how are the dusks compared b2 btw?
Never tried the normal b2 actually
I see
the blessing 2 isnt very v-shaped, it hardly has a bass shelf at all compared to most iems
it might sound like it has too much treble and not much midbass warmth because of that
b2 is slightly v shaped
b2d is like dead neutral for iems
to the point people complain about it
its basically ear gain treble with a 5db bass shelf
the iems im using right now are +15db at 20hz lmao
yeah im not a fan of the tuning
dusk looks better just based on tuning but i havent heard either
too much bass nah jk, fine for iems
Headphones with -10db can hit harder than iems with flat bass
I do agree. One of my bassier iems has a very humped midbass to subbass
god i hate campfire
Fr. Ive prac owned a majority of cfa iems and out of all of them i only ever liked the atlas. But i do love my cascades as well
thats my first time seeing the name campfire
Aside from solaris and andro. Cfa dont really have that much good iems
Ive owned about 3 andros and each time i sold them within a week of owning
Andro barely has any treble
i only own low-midfi iems
kbear ks2, 7hz salnotes zero, moondrop aria, tangzu zetian wu
Save up for higher end iems! Trust me they are funn
I use my iems more than my headphones
Yeah thats another reason i dont use hp much. They are cumbersome
hella bass planar
I just wonder how their tws is, probs trash
Might be me when I finally decide to get some iem with a utws and have it finally stay in my ears
could be
I heard in japan at least, they had a massive recall
But generally the orbit was really bassy
raycon level?
I wouldnt say they are.
Orbits are better but they are not worth the asking price
Compared to my wfxm4 and buds 2 pro orbit sounded low res
aka dogshit
It was fun sounding at least
I wouldnt call them dogsht
I know a lot more tws that sounded worse
anyone spanish here anyone know if madridhifi is a legit site?
wanna get a fifine k688 since theres a good deal on it
It's fine, it'll reduce input slightly yes but it'll also almost completely eliminate plosives
also RE20 is known to sound the same regardless of angle if you're within its pickup pattern
so using the mic that way is completely valid
Hey all. What would be best
gamingheadset?
Fixed it!
The actual best gaming headset is just a pair of good quality headphones with an external mic
I agree with this take
Yah pretty much honestly lol
What do yall believe to be the best feature in any form of headphones?
Sound Quality followed shortly by Comfort
sound quality and comfort sit next to each other
if it technically sounds really good but is really clunky to use, then I'd rather get something that sounds a little "worse" for much better comfort
Yup, headphones gotta have both for me
detachable cable is nice, but a little nerving if it's proprietary. Still better than no detachable cable
Also open back is pretty important for me. But I think that goes into comfort
I have open and closed backs, and also IEMs
Most comfortable pair I have is actually qc45
issue is
sometimes it isn't always "a little worse"
it is sometimes a lot worse
build followed by design then sound
tho i dont have as many headphones as i have iems. all my headphones follow a single design kek
Sound, comfort
Sound should always be the first priority
I think they’re both important. If you lack on one it makes the experience less appealing
sound is the last priority?
I can understand comfort being important but design is more important than the sound?
I have my priorities
Sony z7m2 and the cfa cascades are my go to (tho i have other headphones)
why do you need a good design for something you don't see while its on your head
My headphones are mostly just in my desk, looking aesthetic
And because my iems outperform my headphones by a large margin
I wonder why that is
Price range difference
Im not really good with sarcasm sorry
none of the headphones id consider to be excellent look good
except for hd800 and susvaras
and he1k
buying uglier headphones has proven to be the best way of ensuring audio quality in my experience
But yep dont u agree these are aesthetic
Good design actually goes hand in hand with good audio
I like the cascades
I want cascade just for portability and memes
they look good
they sound like shit though
so does the z7m2
id rather have a 200$ open back over both of them
Im not really big on headphones myself. Im more into iems
Its why im satisfied with those
I don't see a reason to use iems indoors
Yea a lot of good headphones dont traditionally look good
Jecklin float moment
One reason is when its really hot
I mean
Did carmon's EQ work
Has he solved audio
open backs sort of tackle that issue
yeah but I instead decided to turn my arias into susvaras
Wuh
pocket susvaras
Not when you have obnoxious neighbors
its why i barely use my openbacks
it was sarcasm
Oh ic
Yeah it's actually really easy to make any headphone perfect. All you need is an extreme amount of difficult research into an obtuse field
Once you do that part, you can do it with minimal effort
If you can understand everything about audio you can establish perfect sound no issues
I actually dont eq
I just sell it if i dont like it
My reason being it was tuned to be like that why bother even buying it to eq
But i agree my tastes arent really for everyone
Hello!
Hi
Hello
Bought myself a nice headphone collection, but some says I should get a dac. Is there any you guys would recommend?
I just run everything off my player
Did you mod that grados?
Bare copper wire looks interesting on it
Yeah removable cable mod, and stuck a bit of bluetack on back of driver
Cool
did you buy them all at once
Separately
I was looking at the SURFANS F20 and HIFI WALKER H2 because I want a good dedicated player with a clickwheel design, but are there any models of those type of players with USB C? Ive basically completely left Micro B behind at this point
Questyle qpm
Beautiful player, but about 10x more than I want to pay
how much you wanna spend?
nice headphones also
i have the 880s as well
300?
you could get a modi multibit 2. i dont know how good it is though
if you dont have an amp though, schiit modi and magni or jds labs atom stack is a good cheap set
Pretty good
Im new to audio but what are these 2 ports on the left?
Xlr port
The device would label which is output and which is input
Xlr themselves can come in 3 pin to 7 pin variant
Interesting
So thats the 7 pin?
Most consumer audio products uses the 3 pin variant
Doesnt look like a 3 pin nor a 7 pin fit in that port
Oh nvm after i zoom in i can see the small 3 pin circles
I mean, 4 pin XLR exists
Half pin xlr when
half a pin would still be 1 pin, just smaller
Neither of the front ports are outputs
”Input and ”output”
Whats bad about them?
I'm not paying for ifi products anymore after my zen dac decided to say fuck you and break for no reason
dead as fuck sound
if you want to get a topping may as well use an apple dongle
the dx3 pro+ looks like a good overall package
1500mw into 32ohm, aptx low latency and LDAC bluetooth, clean dac
i didnt get that from asr :)
just cause an amp doesnt intentionally soften sound doesnt mean it's bad
I'm stuck with using the umc22 for my headphones for the time being, the sound is so dead
99.9% of people do not care about these extraordinarily minute sound differences due to pcb layout and filters
it looks like a good starter unit
yeah therefore use your motherboard or an apple dongle
don't waste your money on dx3 which sounds the same as the next not shit motherboard dac/amp
if you want neutral audio we have had it since 10 years back
there is no need to spend money for it
except with a 122db snr dac and 1800mw into 32ohm
with decent bluetooth
which a motherboard or dongle cant do
for a person who uses dt880 and 1990
why does it matter
you aren't going to realistically make use of that power
i threw my dt770 80ohm on my new macbook pro because i was curious how itd go with their improved headphone output
had to max it out to get moderate listening volume
i can imagine a motherboard which has less power wouldnt cut it
i think you have issues with your listening volume
it easily gets above listening levels with a regular apple dongle
i dont
im a low volume listener but i expect my device to be able to play uncomfortably loud if i ever wanted it to
dt1990 with their "analytical" pads look like it's the best beyer headphone
but i still dont think id ever buy it
gotta get meze 99 and darkvoice
u can get a 109
I mean if you have many pairs and want a fun warm pair too, theyre great
the measurements of this actually look promising
Ofc theyre bad for critical listening but theyre fun, and super durable
I don't know a single person who has actually listened to this though
idk man +10db at 120-250hz sounds like headache city
Eh Ive used them a few times, theyre not bad, really
ideally it would be like 80hz though
But they are really warm
probably depends heavily on what you listen to
metal might actually be tolerable with them
Metal was fine but theyre so fun for some songs with thumping bass
i love bass boost i just dont want it boosted in the mid-high bass
did you try classical
If I had a lot of headphones I can see myself buying a pair just to fuck with them from time to time
i like subwoofer bass which is typically 80hz crossover
And no, I dont listen to classical lol
same
i asked ethan about the 109
he said he didn't like it
apparently his friend sold them to him for 350$ because he didn't like them either
i asked how much they costed and he said like 400$
it looks like it has hifiman tuning
he was also very surprised to find out they were 800$
1-3k dip and raised rollercoaster upper treble
is there a headphone that doesn't have upper treble like that
I love lists of studio headphones for gaming
All is fine then it has the last one “reasonable endgame hd800” like bro hd800 is not “reasonable” endgame for gaming, way more than you need for gaming
I mean, how often do you see enthusiast level gamers not go way over what is needed?
1440p240hz, 500-1000$ custom keyboards, etc
basically just the headphone for those, lel
True lol
I stick to my 1080p 144hz cause if I wanted 1440p 144hz I would need a bigger desk to fit 27 inchers and like a 4080 to be able to run most of my games at 1440 144fps lol
custom keyboards have nothing to do with gaming and a 1440p 240hz actually just feels real nice even when it doesnt really give a competitive advantage
I bought one just because most games were running at close to 300fps on 1440p and having a 144hz monitor felt stupid
don't really seem to get what I said but sure
and also, insane deal
Like I mean fuck, the games I play i barley get 100fps and i have a 3070, altho ig that makes sense when most of the games I play are kings of unoptimization
4k120 more for me
and frame rate

so far only game thats been under 200fps is hogwarts
My guy what gpu do you have? Or do you set everything to low quality?
Ive got Ark survival evolved, Valheim, and Gta 5 running below 100 with my 3070
Just
Rip Ark optimization
Online performance is already worse then add in the modders lol
King of unoptimized
that game is a dumpster fire honestly
many issues, unoptimized af
does seem nice for mods tho
Especially the fucking pixelation for anything not directly infront of you
gta 5 below 100 seems unusual
Just online
try turning grass to normal, it makes a massive fps difference
It is
Online performance is under 100 but always over 60
Story mode im usually always over 120
wonder what BDO Ultra would perform like
on my 2080S it is 4 fps
meant for screenshots only tho
BDO Ultra?
Ultra settings in black desert online are basically meant for only screenshots, so it is unoptimized af
Ah
Anyways opinions on Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 3rd gen?
Got one for 45 + shipping so 51.9€ total
How different are they
focusrite small stuff is pretty wacky in terms of driver and sometimes performance
focusrite is just
bad
its drivers are bad
its headphone output is bad
its preamps are eh
there isn't much of a reason to own one
Y'all, generic amp/dac (combo or stack) with good output power for about £200?
I would just go Modi/Magni and call it a day except getting those in the UK is rarely an option
Motu m2 is good as well
zendac/air
good piece of gear unless you need lots of power
Alright neat cause I wanna get something that does more than 220mW for my LCD 2 lol
How much power does the M2 have
Are you running into volume issues with that much?
No volume issues, but with everyone having raved about the dynamics of the LCD-2 and me not feeling any of it, well
I'll just save a little more lol
You could always hook it up to a speaker amp 🥴
Don't got one I can easily uh.. borrow, near me lol
Well for £200 you should be able to find something used.
Anyone here well versed in record turn tables? I’m looking for something relatively cheap <$200 with good output quality that I can hook up to aux and/or xlr
actually can I just get opinions on the AT-LP60X
still, my point being it will be relatively quiet because of the placement but it should otherwise sound the same
availability... their preamps are good, headphone output is wack and drivers... well they work
issue is just that the Arturia minifuse and UAD Volt lines are same price or cheaper and are better
but if you can't get either Focusrite is fine
issue is their drivers don't work most of the time
focusrite is very well known for their driver issues making their interfaces totally unusable
Sure, but it doesn't need a specialized driver to function because it's just another usb audio device
you do
you don't
base functionality all usb devices share the same driver
also it's just scarletts that do have issues
esp with electron apps which seem to hate focusrite specifically
and doesn't play well with most interfaces
USB mics > XLR mics
yes the interface from the scarlet series which he asked whether he should buy or not
which I said not to because it has driver issues
I didn't disagree
I just said that they work
and you can get them literally anywhere
they work like shit
you have no idea how many people I know has rma'd their scarletts due to drivers
Straight up
and how many is because it wasn't working with discord
lol
not rly
they literally work with some recording software and not with others
uh none
if your budget is 150 then possibly
It worked with Ableton and Logic so
😠
I haven't touched audacity in a while
and haven't used reaper or anything else
i recommend to everyone
seriously what are you even arguing
you already established the issues it has and its lack of performance
so why but it over anything to exist on the market
I'm arguing "there isn't much of a reason to own one" and "focusrite is just bad"
Buy a used goxlr on fb marketplace for more than a new one costs. Nothing better
I said it works and the preamps are good
there isn't a reason to own one because it's subpar to everything with half decent drivers
Scarlett’s preamps are horse shit
and focusrite is a huge company, scarletts are just one line of them
like saying Lexus are bad because your corolla had issues
goxlr... isn't any better
I was memeing
and goxlr mini doesn't even have 48v phantom power
it isn't any better
what I'm saying is the reason to get a scarlett is when you can't find anything else, because they work
yea for triple the cost it better
But there’s cheaper and better
when you can't find anything else.
🤯
motu M2 had 0 availability for the longest time
How tf the only thing you gonna find gonna be a scarlett
you haven't stepped outside have you
lol
in the middle of covid
I shit you not it was either m audio or a scarlett here
focusrite is more difficult to find in most 3rd world countries because its higher end
behringer on the other hand is everywhere
no?
The middle of covid is when I swapped between like 5 xlr interfaces lol
so which country are you talking about
Canada
uhm
you are digging your own grade with every word you say
you complain of the lack of availability of other interfaces
you're pointing certain details out and pulling conclusions
I am listening
so buying a focusrite is fine because of lack of avilability
but goxlr is not
I never said you should buy a scarlett
esp when I literallylisted better options
I said when the better options don't exist
Only reason to get a Scarlett is cause you found it in a dumpster
I don't know what canada is
but in europe there are better options everywhere
so are there in the middle east
so where is this "lack of interfaces everywhere"
Idk what hes on either, middle of covid I swapped between 5 interfaces from different companies, im from Canada
When did I said everywhere
you are basing judgement particularly regarding your own circumstances
and then complain about people not going outside
you took it literally huh.
Dark mode 📳
I made a scenario where I've seen
if you are basing your argument particularly off of argument why disagree with it being being less available in the middle easy
or in europe
or m2 not being available anywhere
you recc'd m2
those are conditions exclusively to where you live
not rly
right now it isn't, you can find it
but I also specified a specific timeframe
when it was true for me
not everyone has thomann.
so you are again arguing about your particular circumstances
yet disagree that it isn't available
are you like
joking
because I used my circumstances as a scenario where scarlett could make sense
you are saying things that contradict with one another every eighty seconds
.
oh wait
my mistake
misunderstood that statement
yea.....
anyways for the longest time m2 has always been available on thomann
your argument is based on where you live
yep.
And would apply where thomann doesn't ship
or sweetwater
or any other ecommerce store
so stop disagreeing with people when they say scarlett is less available in the rest of the world 😄
is isn't in asia
uh...?
now I'm confused
Scarlett has never had availability issues
it's the ones that are better
if its in a country that has focusrite then yes it is mostly available
issue is it isn't available everywhere
ie m2, minifuse 1/2, etc.
you are yet again
commenting regarding your surroundings
whereas behringer and motu is more widespread in asia
and behringer is a lot more widespread in the middleast
Motu isn't, Behringer is tho
Issue with Behringer is that.... their drivers are worse
or lack thereof
they don't exist
which is compatible with everything
contrary to focusrite
which is sometimes functioning
only lack of behringer is lack of asio
in their lower end
which doesn't matter for vc and stuff
ik, um2 and umc22 lack asio
but then asio4all iirc worked ok
they do
it is
aside from build but yea
direct upgrade
UMC202HD is fine if you need two inputs
it's relatively cheap
technically better than the M track duo
but then there's that entire thing about 192khz
where the adc they use doesn't support 192
The pin in the middle fits an instrument cable such as for a guitar
Yeah i found out its xlr didnt know xlr can look like that
Well I mean its XLR but can also fit a 1/4in plug
Anyone know a tweeter I could put in this Phonic Ask 215 speaker? I cannot find one. All I know is that it’s a 1.8’ titanium tweeter.
It's a compression driver. Try and find something on parts express
what did uou think XLR looked like?
lol
im new to audio lol dont mind me
Dw abt it
now you know
the most popular connector for connecting microphones to mixers and interfaces
like i knew what xlr is but the xlr connector on the soundcard looked odd
what Razer Kraken headphones would be best?
they’re best when left at the store on the shelf
then pm me a good headset to choose from.
Why you want him to pm you and not just say it here
cuz of stupid replies to a normal question, why is it so hard to say facts why they are bad and why i should not buy them. and what would be a better alternative
I haven't heard of a pair of razer headphones that sound better than ksc75.
Their entire brand is fashion and gamer aesthetics to lure people into buying mediocre products
then give me a list of few headphones that you would suggest
why should you not buy them? maybe because the freq repsonse is hot trash, everything about it is hot garbage like wtf
Koss porta pro communication headset.
three dead neutral opamp filled amps in the 100$ price bracket sounds THE SAME????
:O
because they are bad on an objective scale
their every measurement is subpar and bad
they aren't technically impressive nor tuning wise
at some point bad headphones step into a zone where they are straight up so cursed they are objectively bad on a non subjective scale
razer is that
Penus
Like bro, soundguys is a bad review area and a reason is because they are very lenient on audio quality, and yet, Razer headphones have a con point being “bad audio quality”
Its bad lol
you are better off spending $100 on a decent set of headphones and then a mic set up
What headphones do you guys use btw?
Might pickup Zen Dac.
R70x, dt880, diokos
HE400se
Hd414
Trolly today aren't we
sorry about the grado's
Wym
Aren't thos actually somewhat terrible sounding?
I like planors
does anyone think the moondrop electrostatic will be any good?
You gonna get an estat next?
I've got an srd-7 I need to get rid of.
Hopefully it'll be normal bias.
I think I'm sticking with planar
Estat is just a planar on crack
r70x & sundaras
i have my doubts
Any IEMs worth getting that are good and collection?
don't collect stuff
if you have money to spare to make one big expensive purchase go for that instead
buying 10 midfi headphones is not going to make your audio anymore colorful
Hmmm
like trust me
you don't want a zeos wall
or a dankpods e-waste storage
99% of those cans are collecting dust
i assume your headphones apart from 1990 also are
I use the dt880 more actually...
this says a lot about the beyerdynamic lineup
What about IEMs?
mest mk2 is pretty good
Oo, how much is that?
Hmm....
lol the zeos wall
but it's better to store ewaste there rather than in the ground
I
LCD-2
I got er2se like eartips delivered
I didn't know my ears were this deep
I am in pain
I have a 10 inch subwoofer under my desk, could it shatter my glass side panel? My pc is on my desk. Sorry if this is the wrong chat
it shouldn't break anything
breaking stuff with sound is a bit more difficult than hitting a high tone as a disney tv actor
what a subwoofer can do is causing things to slip out of place though
if you have something loosely placed it could shake it around
Just came to mind since I bought a new fancy case
which can cause issues
Yea I'm fine that way
Absolutely not, I blast my sub often and its right under my pc
(i think) you would need ear rupturing volume to break glass
many thousands of watts like a car sub battle
it's really funny when you see someone in their car with so much bass the sheet metal is flexing. Eventually material stress will be exceeded and EVERY BODY PANEL ON THE CAR will implode
it's also fun to point and laugh when that happens and their $1,000s of dollars of excessive "listen to my music with me" bullshit costs them $10,000 in damage
but what if its a frequency below or above our hearing range?, it wouldn't be ear rupturing would it?
personally don't think its funny, I just think its sad they feel like being loud = being cool
would pay for their therapy sessions, but its usually hopeless
if you can like
match a certain wavelength it's possible
but I don't think subs do that wavelength
it's not "wavelength" is magnetic stresses on the sheet metal, and moving air "wavelength" has nothing to do with it
and then you add in metal fatigue and it happens
what you are speaking of is breaking glass with pressure
not with sound exclusively
I've watched it happen to a civic being annoyingly loud at a stoplight their entire back half of the car caved in and stayed caved
with sound you need to match the wavelength to the particular material
and composition of glass
like that you can efficiently destroy glass
not glass the actual metal body panels
but it isn't something easy to do
you are talking about vibrating shit to make them break
shaking it around and stressing it
I am talking about basically defusing glass
with sound
@molten lotus you have me confused with someone else
why
other people were talking about breaking glass, i interjected the manner in which i've seen damage done to a car with speakers which is a totally different mode of operation
the primary force that causes metal panels to implode is magnetics
I was talking about the most likely way of killing glass in a desktop environment with sound
and you disagreeing with the wavelength is just straight up false
even if you are breaking glass with magnitude and pressure alone you are still likely to cause more of both by vibrating air at a large wavelength
which a subwoofer causes
we are talking about 2 completely the fuck different things
it isn't volume alone
i think it still damages your hearing regardless because it's still air pressure
i think so too
There's no way your car speakers are making a magnetic field that strong.
Like maybe if you had a couple of active MRI machines in your trunk maybe
Large speakers create magnetic fields in the multi tesla range. Yes they can. MRI machines are 10s of tesla. Electromagnets in junkyards are only a few tesla.
It's not instant it's consistent flexing of metal over time causing metal to fatigue
bend a paperclip back and forth
my mri machine killed my speakers
big loss
That multi Tesla magnetic field is localized entirely on the voice coil and within the magnet.
And the electro magnet part is entirely in the coil.
If your magnetic field is leaking out that far, something is very very wrong.
More likely if these cars are imploding it's from the air pressure. Not the magnetic field.
Well either way its satisfying to watch someone destroy their car via the thing that annoys everyone around them
I am sure that it would take a lot of time for that to ever happen, IF it happened 😐
if it's many times a second metal fatigue can happen surprisingly fast
The average car subwoofer is never going to cause that ffs
What if you're a terrible person and optimized your subwoofer for 120db at 80hz
😂
I think it could happen. Especially if you're that terrible type.
I have SEEN it happen. In person.
But if it were common we'd see natural selection at work.
Yeah ok, I believe you
It was one of those set ups where it's a bunch of speakers lining the inside of the back of the trunk
Also there's something to be said about elastic deformation vs plastic deformation
That isn’t a typical/average subwoofer setup
Competition spl cars have reinforced bodies and glass for that reason
It is more common in "competitive" Style set ups, and posers will be posers
and the one I saw recently that was flexing their body panels was a pickup that obviously had subs mounted in the door panels
Again, that isn’t typical
But it is satisfying to know that douche was destroying his car because of his annoying over spending
And that is spl, not the magnets
pretty sure magnets contribute. Magnetic flux isn't neatly contained unless it's shielded and then that would negatively effect the performance of the speaker.
It’s spl
It's very nearly contained.
If you're making tesla's of magnetic field a foot away, that is a VERY powerful magnet.
well, a drunk driver just merc'd themselves outside my house
terrible choice
Indeed
just listen to both and decide for yourself
I can't telepathically measure the reflections and echoing of your room structure and materials using my intj brain strength
Yeah true
But generally which is better
my office is a closet so lots of reflections either way
I don't know mate
I have never used speakers behind monitors
I don't think anyone here has
it's pretty commonm
not an audiophile's dreamland
which agent of the devil normalized putting speakers behind monitors
i pray for your soul
you'd hate my current setup then
I have came to that conclusion based on the initial question
this is complete bullshit but
if you place it below the desk it would probably have more bass
and be muffled
behind the monitor no idea probably less muffled but thinner sounding
I don't have a basis for any of this
Currently I have 2 large speakers front L/R under desk, 2 smaller ones on top of those, and 2 large-ish ones behind me L/R under desk as well
why
space
its not like adding three pairs of speakers will improve the sound
why don't you just use headphones
or in ears
Do what you want man
because free
you are just asking for a fuck ton of phasing
They were kinda just laying about
Hello #audio-tech I need help deciding between crushing my legs between a hydraulic press and eating a jar full of nails. Any advice will help. Thank you.
I have seen hydraulic press being utilized on femurs before id say go for it
and this is why audiophiles shell out $18,000 for a network switch
I can't say nails are hygienic
the food afterwards will have some sort of bacteria
all of this stuff was free and I just wanted to use it
Receiver is about to turn 20y, some of the speakers are older
There's a difference between the audiophiles who buy $20k network equipment and audiophiles who think that speakers should be pointed at you.
also smashed cone :p
but no matter the speakers putting three pairs together isn't a good idea
unless its a surround setup built for the purpose
How about this Beano. If you have these speakers. Put them under your desk and behind your monitor and find out what sounds best.
its fine
that would require reconfiguring the desk and rewiring the speakers
alright then
they can still sound not terrible
try not using three pairs though that's just fucked up
it doesn't really mean jackshit if its going behind your monitor or under your desk
go get headphones instead mate
consistent performance regardless of placing
I have both headphones and speakers
Sometimes I dont want to wear headphones and want "good enough" quality
if your headphone performance is equivalent to three pairs of speakers 2/3 being under a desk I am worried of it
terrible
anyways any recommendations we can give you will be for normal use
not under desk or behind monitor
for all we know a shittier pair could sound a lot better behind a desk or something else
compared to a normally good speaker
oh my god they are surrounded by concrete too
that's not as bad
Back ones
I don’t have much money
This audio stuff was all free
Pretty nice receiver tho
H/K AVR 330
Does well
What about this? Creative SBS52
(Grill is off bc I was fixing it)
Old
go ahead try it
One side doesn’t work but I could fix that
I am not saying anything about the quality of the speaker itself it may be damn good
They’re pretty decent
I am just confused you pulled out a cambridge speaker out on demand
what is wrong with it
epic
Probably capacitor plague or something
probably
Early 2000s and all
didn't know early 2000s speakers had common issues with capacitor corrosion
I don’t know if they do, I just know early 2000s capacitors we’re generally bad
I could also add a sub.
Might do that actually.
subs are actually usable below desks
Yeah
It’s just space, and whether or not I want to destroy everything, with the room being so small
know what ima do it
Cambridge
what about them
I like cambridge audio stuff
should be
even their low end is quite good ... and usually can be found for not that high price
Pretty
indeed
and they sound pretty good too
I think those are one of their smaller bookshelves
S30
Uh oh lol
maybe too much power draw
receiver tripped off
nope I just turned it up too much
anyone well versed with record turn tables?
not well versed but I know about their gimmicks although not of their market particulars
what is your question
How do people feel about the hifiman Ananda's with the schiit magni+?
if you care about price/performance go for edition xs instead
they do different things slightly better than one another, perfectly comparable two headphones
if you aren't sure ananda is what you want then edition xs is a good cheaper alternative that is completely comparable in terms of performance
and magni 3+ is a perfectly fine amplifier
although personally I prefer the ifi zen can
zen can and zen dac are my favorite entry level items <300$
Funnily enough I consider the editing xs but overall the headband won me over. I have dreadlocs and the headphone of my he400se stretches on my scalp and irritates me
So I ended up going for the Anandas
your choice
if you think that the xs sounds better than the anandas you can also spend the additional 200$ you save from buying the xs on purchasing the ananda headband
Fair point
By chance do you have any knowledge about these speakers?

id be lying if I said I have heard these particular speakers
but the general word about cheap presonus speakers and these ones is that they are not bad but they are not particularly worth buying over edifiers either
though it's just hearsay
Yeah I've heard more people definitely say it'd be better to buy edifiers
Did you mean 1280T?
all the 1280 versions are the same mostly
just minor changes to their back panel or other features like bluetooth
So I was looking at getting some earbuds and I noticed something funny
A retractable cord and 500 kg weight?! Fuck yeah! Just what I'm looking for
hey, this is legit, right? or how can i verify it;s legit?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004581726720.html
If you buy it and it comes in the mail it is legit
lol, i just dont wanna pay for it and then it comes and it's some cheap knock-off of a budget IEM
or it doesnt come at all because they didnt send it properly lol
etc, whatever issue could come from a bad actor
I mean that’s a actual brand which you can also buy on Amazon but apparently it has terrible qc though
really? i mean, unless you guys know of a bdget IEM with similar audio quality but better QC, best i can get atm it seems
I mean the one thing about cheap Chinese iems that I have tried they all have terrible qc issues
For me my personal favourite is cca cra
ill take a gander
The easiest to make them last is don’t sleep with them in or try and not get them yanked out of your ears
If your gonna sleep with earbuds in get some true wireless earbuds
yeah im planning on whichever i end up getting to treat them like $1k worth IEMs lol
Then I’d recommend the cca cra
Best for the price in my opinion if you like v shaped sounds
The way I would describe the sound with nonsense audiophile terminology is crispy
lucky me lol
well we'll see how lucky
ill take a gander at it first before i committto buying
I'm looking for a music player on the go, is there any you guys would recommend?
Using Dusk, phone doesn't have headphone jack.
What functions should it have
Idk, volume knob or buttons, 4.4mm would be nice to use. Sounds good.
A portable player with a 4.4 mm uh that won’t be cheap (I only know prices in Germany)
I don’t know cheap Player with a 4.4 plug port
I know some but they are well more expensive 200€+ used 400-700€ new
Which ones are they? I'll take a look
FiiO M11 in case it is still available used it new would probably be the best choice but in Germany I couldn’t find one
The FiiO M11 Plus used is approximately 300€+ used
I would probably go with a used one
Here I just can’t find so many new
Maybe someone else knows some better players
I'll check them out, thanks.
Hey guys!
Any recommendations for general equality earbuds for listening to YouTube during work? I was reading the Galaxy buds and the Google pros are pretty decent. Any thoughts? I use a Galaxy Fold 3
Alternatively i can just get a USB-C to headphone adapter lol
buds pro are better for youtube since the battery life is great
Budget? and what are you looking for specifically?
Wuh
hi
WHA
i highly recommend lotoo paw gold touch. Just wait for a sale to happen
Isint it a little pricy
thats true but i can attest that it is byfar one of the best sounding players out there. I prefer it to my player as well
can easily sell too with minimal loss to srp and even better since its on sale
