Inherited these today.
I would like to get them functioning on my pc or some record player.
The only problem is that the ends are copper wire, and I don’t know what model they are.
I also received a radio/amplifier
@molten lotus I ended up buying the Avantree C81 to pair the Arctis Nova 7 with my PS5 via bluetooth. I notice zero, I repeat, zero delay while playing. Even tried Overwatch (which I have more than 1k hours on PC) and couldn't notice any delay whatsoever. This was a perfect solution, this bluetooth dongle is extremely good.
Out of curiosity I tried the headphones on my PC with the onboard bluetooth from my motherboard (z390 Aorus Master) and the delay was terrible, completely unplayable.
So, what I wanted from the start was achieved. I have the headset dongle on my PC and the C81 on my PS5, everything is permanently paired and I can change seamlessly between systems whiteout taking the headset from my head.
You need to connect those copper wires to an amplifier
Interesting, wouldn't expect bt to function that well
To be honest I'm also surprised. But infact it works.
I'm thinking of getting a second pair of earbuds. Right now I have the Sony Link buds and I'd like a second pair with ANC for cases where I need isolation from the outside.
One requirement I have is that the buds can't stick in too deep into my ears. I've tried the Sony WF-1000XM3 (and actually still have them), but I can't really wear them for more then 5 mins because of earwax >.>
I've seen that my local electronic retailer has the LG Tone free DFP9 and Google Pixel Buds Pro on sale, and I was wondering for any opinions about these, especially regarding fit in the ear canal as that's normally not really reported on
Just buy headphones, no more earwax issues
I've already got a bunch. I just can't take over-ears with me all the time, as sometimes I don't have a backpack with me to store them where I'm going...
not really any easier to carry than small headphones
One fits in pockets, one doesn’t
That’s the only difference
Tho you could technically bring an hd6x0 with you if you are fine with holding it in place yourself and take the headband off
And ofc
Wear ugly af pants, aka cargo pants
I kinda get elitist vibes. I ask for TWS earbuds and instead get wired headphones recommend. It's like asking for a car and getting only bicycle recommendations
Like, ig that earbuds aren't great for earwax, but I was using a wired pair for years without problems. Just the Sony XM3s stick in so far that they do cause problems for me, so I was looking for alternatives that do not involve a wire...
your best bet would probably be ones that don’t sit in as deeply and have a stem that hangs below your ear
like airpods pro 2
the ones that have no stem as well as no ear loop have to sit deeper in your ear to not fall out
Is this a good place to ask what earbuds to buy?
I am currently looking at
Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless for 100€ and Sennheiser MOMENTUM 2 True Wireless for 125€.
Could someone help me chooce between them or got advice to buy something diffrent?
(I prefer in ear and rubber tipped earbuds)
So you say something like the LG Tone Free's might be a better choice over the Pixel Buds (LG having a stem, the Pixel Buds Pro don't)? As an all Android/Windows/Linux user, I kinda shy away from going with anything Apple because of past experiences with no official drivers and the thrid-party ones either not working at all or when they do they behave kinda whacky...
For my edifier mr4 speakers, should I go for tulip to the speakers or normal 3.5mm jack
the copper wires go into a speaker amp or audio receiver. then from there you can output to whatever you want
same thing
Oh coolio I have a sizable jack cable that I can use in that case
galaxy buds (any of them expect the bean looking ones) are good alternatives
Vouch
Got the galaxy buds first gen and they still hold up pretty well. Though look at the galaxy buds plus for a bit more battery life in them
Hey I dont mess with audio stuff much, but my SteelSeries Arctus 3 just lost all sound in the left ear (still fine in the right) and even though it was cheap I'd rather try and fix it than get rid of it. I already have it opened up. what would be the first things to check/would go wrong. All the connections I can see are fine
Ill also try and dig around for another audio wire and see if thats it
I can't really tell from the picture but isn't there a cable missing?
headphones work with - and +
I can only see one cable
there is 2 coming from driver
ya I need go dig it out, ill check later as I got to go out soon
also is this usb
seems like the driver is getting power at the solder points
found the manufacturing date though and it was 5 years ago so it may be getting time
Ill give SteelSeries some credit though its only 3 screws for each side to pop off
there is a song that literally no one i know can find please try to find this be my guest msg me if you have any luck
is there any audio interface in the market with 5.1 surround output + XLR hybrid input + ASIO recording support ???
Anyone know which microphone is better out of the SM7B and RE-20 planned on picking up a high end mic tomorrow I just wasn’t sure which of the two to pick
RE-20
re20
why would you want 5.1 on an interface
for 5.1 music production, also for home theater
what's wrong with using your home theater receiver for 5.1 playback and the interface for recording only
delay shouldn't matter for when you are reviewing your recorded stuff and it's not like you would want real time 5.1 playback for when you are recording something with a mic that people has only mono
I don't think you have experience with 5.1 music production, anyways I just need a single device for all if that kind of product exist at all. Highly appreciate if anyone knows about such item.
Did you measure continuity over the driver?
can someone suggest me an app like PowerAmp but for windows
whenever I plug my audio interface (scarlett 2i2 3rd gen) in my tower pc I get a really weird continous static noise coming from the speakers, but I have no problems when I plug it in my laptop.. trying everything but can't seem to figure out the problem
foobar2000 (free, proprietary)
AIMP (free, proprietary) <--i haven't heard of this one, looks cool.
Strawberry (free, OSS) <-- this looks really nice too, has some extras like automatic album art downloading, but is also privacy focused.
What mic do u guys recommend for under 100 usd
new IEM time
I don't really know much about them-- I just walked into Microcenter and asked they recommended. So this is what I have-- it's been excellent as far as I know. I'm not generally on the receiving end though.
Doesn't seem to have frills (I don't know what frills would be anyway), but it's been solid, and dependable. I have it hooked into a USB switcher so I can easily go from work laptop to personal PC.
which one of these do i plug in my headphones in
Green
alr ty
fifine 669 or 683
how well do IEMs isolate noise honestly? 🤔
tho only way I could see IEMs working for me is either etymotic's eartips or the FIIO adapter for earhook
(etymotic looks painful tho)
still do want something truly portable tho (not something that requires a bag, but something I can just shove into my jacket at all times)
What mic?
a mic whit the stand
Depending on which ones you get they isolate pretty well
trust starzz
Okay how does it connect to your computer?
nope it dosent show anything it just says no input devices found but on my laptop it dose find it
i have the combo jack and im using a splitter
Try plugging into the back of it
This diagram is actually conveniently useful
Use the pink or mic port
i dont have one
i only have the 3,5mm jack net gabel there
You don’t have a back of a computer?
no its a dell opliplex 7040
it the internet one
Internet?
still dosent show anything
Alright I would return it and get a usb mic
well can i get one whit 15 euros
Maybe. How much is the fifine k669 for you?
30 euros
Can you get an extra 15 or nah?
arvutitark euroonic and klick
Alright i actually don’t have any in mind besides the Logitech rockband usb mic but I don’t think you can find that anymore. It’s like 12 dollars usd
nope nothing
i’m not familiar with it
yo this stream deck+ is sick, but still questioning how much I really need it
its gonna pick up everything tho
unless you are discord calling with a bunch of people around a table
What good headphones can I get for about $60-67
I was thinking about getting the Samson sr860
Thanks man
since that's an XLR mic I would assume you have/are planning to get an interface
so I would recommend something like a Behringer XM8500. Right around the same price point, dynamic, and cardioid. Much better for calls than that
What are the best closed-back headphones for under $200 CAD?
I was looking at the HD 560 S but I'm worried about them being open-back, especially with how loud my gaming laptop gets 💀
Akg k361 / k371
What would be some decent budget wireless earbuds? Less than $80 please
Soundliberty 79 by Taotronics have treated me pretty well, they don't make them anymore but you can get them used for like $20 on Ebay
What about new ones?
Looking to get something quick, i broke mine last night
Ah didn’t think of that thx
Based off the 97s that my brother got they cheaped out on the newer stuff
do not buy a sound card
You don't need to pay $400 for it.
Or even buy it at all.
It just makes things sound better. Some of the cheaper ones try and entice you with features like virtual surround sound or EQ, but most of the time they're gimmicks.
hell no do not pay $400
sound cards are effectively obsolete at this point
the current standard is an external dac (digital to analogue converter) that connects with USB, along with either a speaker or headphone amplifier
it’s not worth upgrading from motherboard audio unless you already have nice headphones first
Those are all different outputs, not just 5 of the same thing
It also probably has an optical out for connecting a DAC
your motherboard has a dac and amp on it already
Your motherboard has one built in already, it converts the digital signal that your CPU puts out into an analogue signal that your headphones or speakers can use
A very weak analogue signal at that, which is fed through an amplifier
I currently use the JBL endurance wireless neckband..idk if that counts as wireless for u but its relly good for 30bucks, i love music but dont havent used any HiFi audio gears but trust me this is pretty good
The speakers you'd have to see of they need a dedicated amp, but the mic and headphones will just plug into the green and pink 3.5mm jacks if I'm remembering correctly
Oh, well, one will be marked with a headphone symbol
what motherboard do you have? i want to lookup a different image because that one is quite blurry
Depends, what's your budget
Oh that's a good budget.
that board already has a pretty decent dac on it surprisingly
For headphones alone?
Edition xs.
Yeah that lol
you would just need an amp for harder to drive headphones
Hifinan Edition XS and some good amp and DAC stack
Zen stack maybe?
Idk though I've not really kept up with amps and DACs lol
the board already has a saber dac
That's the one
an amp would be good to get for those headphones though
Are you in India?
So schiit is off the table.
Is it Bluetooth
Ifi might have something or maybe a topping stack.
yes
I would prefer wired as u wont need to worry abt the battery health n charging it
but yes they sell a wireless one aswell
the same thing but its wireless
iPhone moment
?

these r good aswell
i recommend ifi zen can and an apple dongle as a dac
i don’t think an apple dongle is better than what the board already has
it’s an $1100 board it actually has a decent dac
Yup
but if you are under some budget constrictions i recommend apple dongle + zen can
He's got $1k budget
ah
es9218
you can go for a zen dac signature if you want a good quality dac
i’m gonna reach through the screen and strangle you
and are set on blowing your money
I don't know of any other amplifier between zen can and iha6 which is the 170-600$~ budget
i mean
it does sound better
but at that point there is also the matter of what cost do you bid to that upgrade
you will obviously get better sound if you have a 10k budget
but do you want to spend that much for upgrades
basically what I am getting at is
the more you pay, the better sounding items I can recommend
Thx
but the more you pay, less the price/performance
if you want to min max cost/efficiency I can recommend cheaper items that work decently
the first link is WIRED EARPHONES remember
Alright 👍🏻
but if you want to prioritize maximum performance for your budget, I can recommend items that will use every dollar of it
ye
zen dac is decent, zen dac signature is better, but whether the upgrade is worth paying 200$ more is not something I can choose for you
dac/amp also improves sound
there are different levels to them with different qualities
and is the microphone also supposed to fit in the 1000$ budget
what will you use the mic for
go for an xm8500
you don't need anything better
and an m track solo interface
dynamics are xlr?
well microphone units at least
xm8500 is an xlr microphone
I do use RTX voice, do you think that would help?
I'd like to be picked up around the room
do not get a condenser if you do not know how to use one which the odds are you don't
any condenser without a particularly tight pickup pattern is bad for a person who doesn't know microphone technique or software
xm8500 is dynamic
probably
rtx voice can only help you so much tho, keep that in mind
do not buy a condenser is the bottom line
they aren't meant for your use case
all they will establish is picking up background noise
be it keyboard taps or mouse clicks
and anything in between
its literally the same thing
as using a condenser
you plug it in
you use it
with a condenser you actually have to do configuring to prevent background noises
Probably am SM58
also goxlr mini is really bad
it performs equivalent to a 50$ interface
actual goxlr is as bad
btw, groovy is considering a conference mic
goxlr is just overpriced garbage
if you want to utilize the digital mixer properties of goxlr, this
https://www.midi-mixer.com
https://discord.midi-mixer.com
MIDI Mixer lets you control your app volumes with any MIDI device. It does a load of other cool stuff too, but I can't dance to those.
MIDI Mixer is a Windows app that helps you control the volumes of any application or device on your machine with any MIDI device. Great for streaming...
i think its fine
cause he wants to get pick up all around the room
this is only a digital mixer however, you will not plug your mic into this
I do already have a decent mic, but it gets in my face which is annoying
however as a digital mixer it is significantly better than a goxlr
as for your audio interface, an m track solo is what you will want at that price bracket
basically m track solo + x touch mini with midi mixer >>>> goxlr/mini
do you have enough space for something like a shotgun mic?
cause the problem with conference mic is that it sits on the table, so desk related noise would be a problem
I could probably put one behind my monitors
XM8500 Microphone
XLR Cable
Microphone Arm
X-Touch Mini
M-Track Solo
I was thinking about getting a set of those overhead pencil mics they use on drum kits
as for headphones
Edition XS
Zen Air Dac
Zen Can (not air can)
RCA Cable
Custom cable for edition xs if you want since the stock cable is uncomfortable
if you want a better dac, then replace zen air dac with zen dac signature
Is iFi as good as people claim?
I haven't tested any of the high end stuff, but its a real budget king
I saw they started getting into snake oil territory to a small extent
with?
with all those power conditioners and USB noise remover things
oh those actually work
yeah they completely overprice those
definitely too much
but they actually do work in the rare case your usb hub is really noisy
I had that problem and ended up switching to optical
I couldn't fix it no matter what I tried
48KHz is plenty for me anyway
you are welcome
oh also two things, @molten lotus
for your audio interface, reduce/increase its gain with the volume knob until its as loud as you can get it without the "clip" light glowing while you are talking to the mic
and as for zen air dac/zen dac signature, there is a switch on its back that goes between "fixed" and "variable"
since you are going to connect the zen air dac to the zen can you want to set that to "fixed" which will disable the volume knob
these might not make sense to you but after getting the items and seeing them you will probably know what to do
it is sort of too much yeah
people who use it usually have a negative bass shelf filter, heard it sound better idk
I understand why my hip hop loving friend likes that button so much now lol
I know some people who think the amps have a bit too much glare. But the zen dac air I think is one of the best value DAC amps above the dongle.
And, now that I think of it, I don't know anyone that uses their top of the line stuff.
there has to be a huge markup on these
that’s for schizophrenics
it makes the sounds go away
They've made so many more of them since I last checked lol

i use a $25 dac for my tv that connects with hdmi arc
although i think i’m gonna hook my tube amp up to my tv and get rid of my old avr
should be able to directly connect it over optical
lmao
It's a jar of dirt.
stuff for exorbitantly wealthy old people to blow money on to feel cool
Saw someone on YouTube who owns a 14 grand power cable the other day lmao
never mind the hundreds of feet of ordinary crappy cables in the walls
I assume it plugs into an even more expensive power conditioner
What is the best free audio software?
Power cables are turbo dumb
Power conditioners/regenerators can actually be beneficial (and at the very least it's extremely easy to demonstrate that they do what they say on the tin), but power cables....
what would be the best budget way to fix my problem people keep saying i sound like im in a bathtub
Whats your current microphone
some cheap headset
I think that might be your problem.
but apparently it sounds like it on call aswell
what
like with a phone
Ah. Is your room a bathtub by chance
no
weird
it does have me tal in the walls though
is it a bluetooth headphone
no
get a new mic
Okay. You can get a software called voicmeeter banana. It's kind of a bitch to set up but it can make your mic sound better.
i was going to upgrade headset but dont know if i shoul have a seperate mic
bc those can be pricey
You got $20?
i can get 20
you can just get a cloud 2 and have a decent mic
its not very good
but its definitely not inhumanly trash
if you are planning on upgrading your headphones and have a limited budget just jump straight to those headphones, both better sound and a usable mic
that's terrible
Nah. Razers not great.
is it
like
if you really want to buy a headset for 25$ then go for it
but its really bad
Honestly I'd say ksc75 and lapel mic.
yeah same
i also have some wireless jbl headphones but they have no mic
kph30i tbh
Kph30 is better but the mic sucks and the headband snaps too easily
I have had one ksc75 outlive 3 kph30i
kph30i has a mic?
the mic on iem cables is usually surprisingly not bad
I think kph is closer to porta pro
not bad as in better than 99% of headset mics out there
a friend of mine uses the moondrop chu mic sometimes and i think it sounds better than a gaming headset any day
id like to mod a kph30i into a ksc75
would this be awful or ok
it would be ok probably
i really have no clue when it comes to audio
i migh be able to go to like 50 i need to sell some stuff
tbh
while a mic is going to provide a lot more of a quality
if you are just an end user, a cloud 2's mic will suffice
ok
if you are on a budget just go with that purchase instead
How do I use this speaker?? It’s been in my closet for about a year now and I can’t find info online.
Underneath the top speaker there's a snipped black and white wires. You'll need to pull those out, replace them, and hook it up to an amp
Also that's a rare speaker company. Lucky you.
Thank you!!
So this actually just comes out lol
Is there an amp you recommend?
tbh this seems like it doesn't even pretend on any quality so any amp will do
the t.amp S-100 MK II
would be my choice for $133/150€ is very good
👍👍
or if you need something smaller
the t.amp PM40C $70/80€
And what will I need to connect them?
wdym
Looks a bit chunkier than a 60 watt class D amp needs to be.
Oh it's class Ab
That makes more sense
Idk I'd go for the tiny class D. Something like an allo volt d+
yeah would be a good choice too
I want budget honestly.
How do I connect the amp to the speakers
solder, plug, or build a speakcon cabel
Dayton Audio DTA-1 Class T AC/DC Battery Powered Mini Amplifier 15 WPCDon't let the compact size fool you—Dayton Audio's DTA-1 mini amplifier is a serious piece of audio gear. Amazon has speaker cable. It's just simple wires for electrical contact.
👍
You can also get it on eBay, Walmart,
Thank you.
Is the meze 99 neo worth the 200€ price tag?
for me yeah
It'll buff out
whoever packaged that is so stupid
No
You purchased it?
got my aiyima t9 hooked up to my tv instead of the old av receiver
what was the weird thing you sent a screenshot of
Joe
it was a picture of my setup but then i realized there were drugs on the youtube video i was watching lol
didn’t feel like getting muted or something
Joe mama
no
JOE mama
VU meter looming in the darkness
class d blows my mind
idk how they fit so much power in such a small box
no bias current
most of the current flowing through an amp gets turned to heat.
just to operate
there's 25 watt class A amps that pull 180 watts from the wall
and all that gets dumped as heat. pushing current through the transistors that dont get used
do you consider yourself based and class d pilled?
no its boring
there are some ganfet class D amps i want. but they're pretty rare right now and kind of a bitch
and i dont need that much power.
high bias class AB is better
lame
optical is lame
not running sub in parallel with high level speaker input is also lame
fr im out here using a very crude sub connection
no room eq, connected to a dumb sub out

audiophiles everywhere weeping
i dont think they're weeping. i think they're looking at you like this
most likely
not to mention that it’s sitting on a dresser
it’s so heavy that it has no unwanted vibration issues but it does make my drawers jiggle out onto the floor if they’re empty
it’s a cheap fabric drawer dresser though not a wooden one
onkyo

dare ya to read the manual 😛

who would read manuals
if you read manuals you lose
Suggest me best budget headset with mic.Mic is the priority.
Purpose= twitch/youtube livestream
sennheiser pc38x
yeah. I usually don't unless I run into a problem
you let the parasites into your brain if you read the manuals tbh
you have no idea how much battery acid I had to drink to get rid of those things
only thing i notice with my dad's setup is the center CH is doing all the bass and the sub doing lil
cringe
That's 7times more than my budget
You didn't mention one

7 times lower than mine
you can get a ravioli can with a string on it
my budget is that x^7
Any cheap one like this?

well atleast suggest me a cheap mic for livestream. Crystal clear voice is imp 🎙️ . I can use obs filters or RTX voice for noise cancellation
I gonna use wireless ear buds to hear

the virgin class a/ab and tube user fears the chad class d solid state user
K fine i gonna use my 2$ mic with Rtx voice
Can i use my mobile as microphone for OBS studio? Is there any extension? Plugin? Whatever method it can be.
Can i livestream in twitch/youtube?
not that I know of
just get the cheapest lavalier mic you can
they sound excellent for their price
though they might might be microphonic so don't rub against them
Wait till you get a class G
why are there so many classes
people be designing so many different amplifiers
so many ways to make sound loud
Class G you can get even more power out of the amplifier for an even smaller footprint
bro this amp i saw was class H i tell you
That's what you want Michael
Rag 1?
Class G and h are pretty similar
Class H modulates the voltage of the rails, class G has set levels of the rails.
So class H is cooler.

the legend jvcguy himself
Do I need anything to drive them or can I just plug them into my PC?
those are easy enough to drive so your pc should be fine
Gotcha, thanks!
Also since I'd be using them for both gaming and music would the DT 770 Pro be a better choice? I read they have a better soundstage
No
They are a lot worse compared
Overall
Though they are more durable and I prefer their cloth earpads
Isn’t it just velour
Same as 6x0
Arent they talking about k371
which has like pleather earpads
He was talking about preferring dt770’s pads
My favourite pad material is still suede tho
(Velour is basically tied tho)
Which does include many hybrids technically
Based on the material actually going against the skin on many of them
What's the diff between a dac n amp
Dac does the sound (digital to analog converter), amp powers the headphones/speakers
As simple as I can say it
Yeah
One makes info into sound and the other amplifies that sound for headphones and speakers
Imagine being able to hear code
How’s the Logitech g pro x headset?
Bad
“Cloud II/PC38x or nothing” -most of the people here
Or just get IEMs and actually be like the pros
er2se lol
They are actually good imo
I have yet to find an iem that even fits in my inhuman ears
If you can even call them ears, and not just pancakes smashed against the side of my head
Opposite of floppy ears
Worm sized ear holes
They are like clouds tbf
Have you tried custom molded IEMs? They're expensive, but they will perfectly fit your ears and last forever
and sound really freaking good 😂
eartips still don't work
check these out, I've had great experiences with them
Actually going to buy myself a pair later this year
and they have insane noise cancellation
its called isolation, not cancellation
yeah, i know, but i tend to use cancellation and iso interchangeably when i'm talking to people who I don't know how much they know about audio because some people will just get confused 😂
lets just say I am one of the few active people of this chat
not into IEMs much tho, I am a headphone user
yeah, so I personally highly recommend those UE ones, but if bluetooth is a thing for you, you can search for a IEM with a removable MMCX cable, and shure makes a bluetooth adapter for them
I would just get UTWS5 with something like IE200 based on what I've seen so far, its just something I've thought about for portable anyway
I am in no way going to choose an IEM over something like an HE6, even if I have to pay 10k and 2 years just to find and get the HE6 and amp for it for home use
Imagine being me, hates bass

Hey, so I have a question. I see a lot of and have some homemade CD's of audio, but they can only go up to 700 MB or 80 minutes. I see albums that go up to like 105 minutes though, but come on 1 cd. How do they do this????
Do they have special high capacity CD's or maybe something else?
Also some of my CD's I have burned as audio CD's, they cannot play inside an old 01 gmc truck, but they do work in an 06 taurus. Any reason why?
That sounds like a good question for Google
i looked it up, sorta inconclusive I think. I did read something though where you can put more if you compress them, but I don't think you can compress as an audio cd yk? maybe as a file cd or something.
and with the old truck, i think it may just be that it's an old truck and cd player may just not work lol
I mean what have you seen that just came on a single CD over 82 minutes?
I've seen plenty of dual CD albums that use a single CD sized case...
Is anyone aware of any <$75 2 or 2.1 channel hardware room eq correction options that's actually worth buying? I saw the Dayton Audio DSP-408... But I was hoping to find something a little cheaper, otherwise just I'll stick to manually eqing with the hardware EQ I already have
(obviously I'm not expecting anything audiophile grade... Just not complete and total garbage)
is there anything that allows me to use a lot of analogue inputs and output a single output to my pc
i want to use 2 amplifiers and a vhs player but i dont wanna use 3 cables
what is the best budget standalone mic
You might be able to get your hands on a xm8500 for a good price
i am brand new to audio side of things i am using a cheap headset for the mice and some nice headphones
discord and games
i just want it to sound clearer
Get a nice headset and Mod mic
I'm using a headset like this the using my jbl for audio
how expensive is the xlr route
bc i also do stuff like music like bass gituar so that might be useful
it really depends.
depend on what

around $120-150 for microphone+audio interface+mic stand/boom arm
You could get something nice like Scarlett solo if you don't mind spending a bit more
hm?
it is like a small box with a xlr input and output
short answer yes
It can do more than that but that's one of the core functions
It can convert xlr audio to a USB interface so that the computer can understand
so thats what i need the audio interface for right
I would recommend going to your local music store and see if they have any used equipment to get some great deals.
ok there is quite a big one near me so i might have a look when i have some money
You can get a xm8500, m-track duo, and some kind of boom arm like the innogear one on Amazon for around $130
when getting something to connect a XLR mic to is a audio interface.
Thats a nice setup to get started with
I got mine for 15 dollars im not even mad
Fair price
the track duo is more expensive on ebay XD

I just picked up a PV10BT for 60
Get the track solo then
Has one less input
i think i need 2 for mic and gituar
He mentioned adding a bass
yeah bass gituar
You are planning on recording with three mics at the same time?
recording three things*
what do you mean?
no one mic for pc and a input for abass gituar so i can send the recording to my friend so he can overlay it to the drums
Okay so what is wrong with the m solo for this
The only problem I see with using one over the duo is recording three different things at once
its only 7 more
Go for it then, not going to use it anyway 🤷♂️
Plus the solo has a 3.5 and the duo has a 1/4 for headphones
solo < duo
i wouldnt need the audio out bc im using bluetooth
trust me its worth it you can run some studio headphones.
using wired?
yah

ok should i get new headphones or use the wire i have the jbl 710 bt
gives you more room to upgrade
don't
the m30x are atrocious
you should definitely not use bluetooth
but for the love of god do avoid m30x as well
start with the xm8500, m-track duo, and some kind of boom arm
ok
akg k361 is a directly better item
@high spoke hope that helped a bit
thanks

depending on who you ask, hifiman susvara, sennheiser orpheus, or hd600,
"Best" is a question so based in opinion that there is no single best for a person and there never will be
the susvara and orpheus is basically just "the endgame maxed out"
and HD600 is just "it sounds very pleasing and natural to many"
You will need to listen to all your options and pick the best for you, hence every audiophile on the planet crying about their 'endgame'
what HD600 sucks at:
Best sound stage is probably HD 800
And quality is once again an opinion thing
Do you care about timbre? Do you care about treble more or bass? Do you care about the speed of the driver, how detailed it is?
Dude on reddit recently did lol
not me, because HE6 and Susvara exist and can get me where I want to be for 8-16k if I wanted to
wood
if you care only about timber get ZMF (because they're wooden headphones)
Maybe a ZMF Verite or Caldera, maybe a Fostex TH900/909, maybe a Focal Celeste or something lol
different words different meaning ofc
You'd genuinely be best off finding an audiophile related shop in your local area to give higher end offerings a listen
Would be a good idea to bring a portable source like your phone or a dedicated player if you're going to get into that zone lol
Just so you can listen to your music, and see what it sounds good on
I mean, I wouldn't say HD800 soundstage is good
its just wide and that's it
doesn't really get any closer
my definition of "good" or "best" is "most accurate" in this case
Friend needs recommendations for a headset, please. Newegg/Walmart/GameStop only. Amazon is not an option. Budget is below 200usd. Ty in advance.
Do they care about how good they sound?
As long as it sounds decent. Usb or headset mic combo port.
isn't cloud II basically the only option for doesn't suck and can be bought in person?
Yeah cloud 2 lol
Hyper cloud 2?
yes, hyperx
HyperX Cloud II, yes
Very wide soundstage, detailed and treble-focussed, has some issues EQ can fix
Overall if you don't care for bass they fit the bill
depends on what you compare it to, but in most cases
it sounds like the sound is coming from 5 meters away
Not much of it
I still prefer HD800 over HD800S
Do you care more for deep, textured bass or just a lot of it?
There's a lot of little details which makes it hard to find what you like lol
lot of it = all you hear and you can't hear anything else
Give me planar bass and done
According to some reviews I'm skimming the TH900 might be an option?
idk though cause those people have different ears to you and you might hate them
I would take an Arya personally
Yes
There's a bunch of different colours offered at different times that are slightly different but they're close enough
Yeah same, I'd love to give them a listen
They're entirely different headphones, which one is better depends on what you like more
HD 800s is more detailed, with more focus on treble and soundstage
TH900 are bass cannons with detail and a pretty paintjob
basically opposites
edition xs.
Arya is solid
Could also probably find a previous version of it used for a decent price
two mods
It's layered urushi lacquer who's technique can only be done by masters in Japan
or something like that lol
(It's where the majority of the price comes from)
It's very pretty looking lol
Nah I have LCD-2
Googled it, came from head-fi forums
Arya then ig
Needs good amp and probably a good DAC too
No clue, DACs and amps are outside of my expertise
It's not ""good"" but it should work for those headphones well enough
Of course.
i did mean that
there's a lot of dacs and amps out there. schiit is a good place to start if you're american
in that case, topping, smsl, ifi,
nope. just headphones or sometimes speakers
very rarely will you find one with a mic input
if y ou want a mic in, you need an audio interface
Exploded
you indirectly said "I wish I were merican"
but no one who isn't merican would say "unfortunately I am not merican"
Not necessarily
Are the hyper x core headsets any good?
don't ask for the best, your budget needs to be like 100k+
just no one who isn't american wants to be american
only americans want to be american
don't know any better and just shill for their country
best PC would be buying intel, nvidia and/or AMD, and have them make a custom chip just for you
have them make you a 512 core CPU with dual socket motherboard for over 1000 cores, all of which perform like a 13900k in game
server CPU but single core is actually good basically what you would want
basically just threadripper before they went and got rid of it ig (threadripper was fastest gaming CPU for a short little while, lel)
buy a hifiman susvara
more like 12-16k
5-6k for the headphones, rest for the amp/dac
speakers are ass -me
sleepy time for me now
ew, a speaker
ask some people here what they think of my ears
anyway, imma sleep
gl
it isn't called deaf, it is my body is weird
Greetings. Currently having a small choice issue when it comes to Bluetooth speakers.
TL:DR - Currently having a choice crisis between buying the JBL Xtreme 3 and the Marshall Middleton.
Long: Been wanting to buy some bluetooth speakers for a while now and had my eyes mostly on the JBL lineup. However, due to a recent discovery, the Marshall Middleton looks like a solid alternative. I'd definitely be willing to buy a good bluetooth speaker for 300$, but I also want the most optimal one for that price range. I'm also okay with spending less if for instance the JBL Flip 6 is a more solid choice for me. There's also Ultimate Ears which seem interesting but haven't heard anything of. Maybe someone can help with that who has experience in this matter.
Use would be mostly the occasional outdoor use in garden, backyard or wherever I won't annoy people with my music. But also in my rooms.
Any recommendations or any choice help?
now that's just not true
even hifi bars aren't that good
not unless they have like a listening couch at the very least
if anyone looking for a boom arm for their mic/lights/camera. i made a 3d printable one.
its free to download.
heres the video of it:
Introducing the Keccak256 Boom Arm. The worlds first ceiling mountable open source 3D printable boom arm designed for makers, crafters, streamers, content creators, gamers, who value their time and like maximizing their space.
If you have any questions, I'm live nearly every day at https://twitch.tv/keccak256
Or join my discord https://discord...
also open source
i think i mention that in the video. maybe.
you can get a metal boom arm for $20
or you can buy a $300 3d printer and build one made out of plastic
Anybody here experienced with Audacity? Trying to clean up some old recordings with a lot of white noise
Ran noise reduction and normalized it to reduce how high the peaks were
some people already have a 3d printer. and... those $20 mic arms, cant swing 10 feet+
you can also print things out of carbon fiber, metal, wood, etc...
amd is the only one I could see pulling this off. But I'd want it to be X3D style with over 2gb of L3 cache
Somehow I am doubting that you can actually print in wood. Pretty sure wood is purely a subtractive process, can't additively make shapes with wood...printing implies an addative process.
it's still a poly stabilized wood
like when you print carbon fiber, or metal, its a mix of powerer of the wood/metal/carbon fiber, and some plastic (usually nylon)
that's not "wood" that's wood like
sure. close enough though for some people/things. and looks rather cool
i'm not doubting that it's cool, but lets be honest in the purest sense of the term it's not wood.
The moment we figure out how to print wood, we have entered the realm where printing human organs is right around the corner.
right on. wel.. either way. i was just sharing my mic boom arm that i made for anyone that thought it might be neat. take care
very cool
yeah the specific arm for the specific purpose is often very fiddly
I mean, I just bought an elgato LP arm for $150.
Yea I wanted a nice n strong one. Spent weeks n weeks designing, printing n testing prototypes, revisioning, etc to get a good design
I have spend a LOT on different arms and adapters - many of which I don't use anymore, because I changed stuff around
and you re-use bits and pieces
U got a printer? If so and if you print mine, I'd love your opinion on it since you've tried many
I released mine open source on cults 3d. So if you know fusion, you can make any adapters for any gear. But arm, I only have the 5/8s sized ones, and an adapter that works on my mic, hyper x quadcast x
Haha I do but I pulled it apart to make a crane. I'll get another one later.
Looking at that setup. You could totally use one like this that can swing to every spot on that desk/workspace
If ya get a printer, try it. It's a free download.
clean it up a bit
Hifiman is the worst company ive ever dealt with period
My sundaras fell apart within weeks
Replaced the cable 4 times in 6 month, and the headband yoke bolts got loose and fell out
So i go to order a replacement headband, 125$
CHEAPER to buy the h400se and take the headband off that
Like 100$
What a fucking joke company
And the bolts were siezed and had to he drilled out
Circular bolt meant to be adjusted with fingers
Chinese fucking trash
Ive had airplane headphones last longer than this
Classic RMAman
People call it that for a reason
Horrible qc
It was months after i couldnt return it
fucking joke company
Literally ordered h400se just for the headband
Because its cheaper than buying a new headband
And waiting months from china
Mind blowing a company can get away with this criminal behavior
last time i give my money to that chinese shit
Whatever at least ill have the h400se for when the sundaras finally give out next month
Already on its last legs
3 months in and already had driver imbalance issues
Only a matter of time it comes back like the disease it is
3526
why didn't you like
use your warranty
not enough reason to bitch then?
should probably learn about your own consumer rights at one point or another
you don't need the packaging for warranty
Hifiman says you do
you sure you didn't contact them for returns
I also bought it through amazon
for returns you need the box
for warranty there is a warranty code
the one under the earpads should suffice for it
Honestly I love my HE400SE I like them more than my 880DT
or was it in the inner chasis
dt880
😛
tbh I have seen people like the 400se over the sundaras
so I wouldn't be surprised if you picked one over the other
Im at the point i dont want to deal with this fucking company anymore
Going to just upgrade
bad call tbh
Should try to return a samsung phone for warranty, samsung has one response
"water damage"
hifiman sort of dominates that marked up until like hd800
could be DOA and samsung will say "water damage"
which at that point its still a sidegrade not a direct upgrade
so under 1000$ your best bet will mostly be hifiman like it or not
and it will be severe diminishing returns otherwise
Who is the next best planar company?
I don't think I can go to non planar 😦
i suppose audeze or abyss
but abyss is super high end
that's like jumping to 3k
and audeze only gets good at high end as well
you can try to get verum ones if you want
So high end sound is pretty much HD600s DT880 Hifiman then triple kilobuck
Voided the warranty anyways trying to remove the siezed bolt
So knowing them theyd say user error goodbye
do you live in the u.s.
yes
they really replace everything when asked
it isn't unusual for hifiman to not even ask for the items back to send in new pairs
Isnt the verum guy a massive racist or something
that should tell you something about the profit margin in highend sound
Whatever i might try and see if they will send me a replacement headband but if not then fuck the company im done with it
that's out of context
and the verum guy sent death threats to people who left bad reviews for his headphone
Everyone i know who had hifiman had worse issues then me so im considered lucky” having my headphones fall apart in 3 months
but right now he has grown too much to actually trash talk customers
Trash fucking chicom shit
I like garu though
chill dude
spoke to him before
this headphone?
yes
wtf sort of community are you in
everyone around me were hifiman shills at one point and even then it was mostly dead drivers in first 1-2 weeks of purchasing
I have HE400se going strong for over 3 months no complaints, but I do have a backup pair of 250ohm DT880
I have had sundaras for like
more than two years easily
dropped them a hundred times too
still works
I dislike the headphones but they lasted me a long damn time
My friend had sundaras and rma’d the drivers 3 times before giving up
what do you guys do? ride on them while playing quidditch?
I cant find anything better for around the 300-500 range
edition xs
a headphone that competes in the 1000$ range
whereas sundara is a sidegrade to he400se at best
idk why anyone would get that headphone
Out of stock
ic
That doesnt mean you cant rec them
like
a bit in some cases
and then there are cases where it's straight up worse
like in bass
they don't really compete with edition xs, even terrorek who shills the fuck out of hd6** says they only get better with kilobuck gear
I had dt990 pro 250 ohm before it so the sundara having non harsh treble was good enough for me
when there are $20 koss headphones that legit sound better than $4000 headphones you can't ask that question seriously
easy but they don't sound good without a proper dac/amp
which
Origin g2
Wtf is that
Yes thats it
a dac/amp apparently
got it to run my 250 ohms
250ohms is easy to run
You have to note the sensitivity as well
and an amplifier's quality is determined by its power output
its by the quality of it's power output
Also the R70x has a bit of grainy treble
yeah
its a very compressed sounding and hazy headphone without a good amplifier/dac
I don't really recommend it if you are planning on using something of questionable quality with it
Like what
do you want me to example a questionable item of unknown origin like yours or a decent item
tbh apple dong is + amp is alright
What would be good enough to run the rx
Bro people run r70x off apple dongle, so anything
it just
can't be worse than these. https://4ourears.com/products/gs3000x?fromgrado=yes&variant=40331141054512
Grado have like 0 bass
The improved 4th generation dynamic drivers used in the Statement Series GS3000x headphones offer a new level of engagement with your music. The larger 52mm driver has a reconfigured diaphragm, more powerful magnetic circuitry and a voice coil presenting a decreased effective mass. With the new hybrid housing that cons
doesn't sound very good normally
without a decent dac amp
Bro who tf cares about grados
does it have grado bass
if you pronounce it as grade zero then yes
back in the day I spent $80 on a pair of Sr whatevers
they did well for gaming (ish) better than the Zalman headphones I replaced, their resolution was fairly decent (I could hear detail I'd never heard before in my music) but their bass response was so bad that rock music blew the drivers out (cracked diaphram)
Does this make sense?
And can I just have all the sleeves be in the same ground, regardless of the position of the switch?
It confuses me a lot
Why does the ring go to a switch that changes between the rip and the ring of two different inputs
The left and right is going to be mixed up
Or is this intended and you want to use the inputs as mono?
its an old zeos meme
the virgin klaus fears the chad zeos
Yes, and also your schematic makes sense
But I don't think it mixes it. Output has Tip = Left, Ring = Right, Sleeve = Ground so you have them both on a single cable. The 6,35mm doesn't have ring connected cause it provides just one channel.
The top switch switches between tip and the ring
switch 2
Ring of 3,5mm_Input is the Right channel of 3,5mm_Input, Tip of 6,35mm_Right_Input is also a Right channel
oh
Not if 6,35mm is mono
alright then
I just couldn't find a socket that doesn't have a ring connector, so I just took a 3 pole connector and left Ring disconnected
if its mono then this should be alright
not sure about the ground though
if its from different amplifiers you don't want them to share the ground
or if it's from the same amp but with l/r not bridged from inside the amp
you don't want to connect grounds if they are already not connected from the inside of the amp
it will break stuff
3,5mm_Input is the audio passthru from my monitor (for consoles etc.) and the 6,35mm_Inputs are from my PC
Well, fug
so you are going to split a 3.5 into two 6.3s?
is it in your computer or outside of it
Outside, but an audio card can be outside aswell so
it can't
Doesn't matter
a sound card is an internal card
an internal expansion card
if it's outside of the computer its either an interface or a dac
if it's not then it's something mislabeled
well anyways
is it a sound card or an interface
I don't give a fuck, it's late and I want this shit to just work
