out of curiosity what do the "Hifiman He400se" and "Hifiman Sundara" cost for you
Hifiman He400se = $222
Hifiman Sundara = $425
every headphone is basically double price for you
Not every, some are real price
for example that Pulse 3D = $90
or Inzone H3 = $80
but they're not good
every headphone worth buying
what do you mean
i mean that all the "good" headphones are more expensive where you live
yes
Sennheiser HD 800 S = $2500
how much is it there?
1760 usd
Start selling your own headphones. Make a killing
Can you send me headphone and I sell here
I will get rich
really
I sell them $50 under other prices
Hifiman edition xs = $890
what currency do you guys use in iran?
That's called IRR, but everything is based on USD and get expensive daily lol
There are very few things that are real price
usually older stuff
from 10 years ago
HIFIMAN Arya = $2300 USD
I should forget buying good headset for now... maybe I go to a trip and buy things there in Turkey
Still will be cheaper
if there are official stores which I think are
I am in there
and those headphones are just as expensive
well
slightly cheaper
in turkey too? hmm
I thought there are official prices there
Audio-Technica ATH-R70x = $155
what
woah
those are sold for 350$ first hand
are you sure you aren't looking at m50x or something
wait let me make sure it's available
Ah not new, it's used
Used 1 year they say
especially if it was made in japan
get earpad replacements if you want
yeah that's fine if they headset isn't broken
well test it?
yes
They said Japanese
its worth it
those are 350 msrp, considering how much hx600 costs they would also be sold for 600 ish $ where you live
yeah, and it's the only store that has it and he only has 1 used
no new nothing
let me check the price of new
New = $622 USD 30 days delivery
yeah even if I need new earcap
tbh you would need to import the earpads
they aren't easily found
or you need to buy aftermarket ones which are expensive
Ah that might be more expensive than the headset
can you tell me a model so I check price
I don't have the model
Ah so it's good if it's not broken
you need to mail audio technicha directly to purchase r70x earpads
the original ones at least
not possible here
No one sends to Iran
which may cost like 150 usd in total
no amazon?
these shops import indirectly
No
that's why they cost a lot
well
that's why maybe I travel to turkey
for the time being id say to see if there is anything wrong with the pads
the pads of r70x don't really age, the only thing you would establish by buying new ones would be to have them be clean
so if the earpads aren't smelly you are good
that's good!
lysol them bitches
look at this, this is how we buy from amazon
some shetty people 2X price
they say $349 the price
then it becomes $622 with delivery
.
and these reasons
66% the real price
20% IDK what
14% for them
and the actual prices changes until they deliver even more
Has anyone tried these before?
They seem to be on a pretty good sale
But B&O is a brand that gets memed all the time so I'm not sure
B&o is kind of a joke.
i use utws5 every day and like them
I did try my friend's first gen AirPods pro and they weren't to my taste
But he was playing some bass boosted shit at full volume
So hardly a fair test
I will look into both
All the mainstream ones seem to have terrible mids and highs when I watch the sound demo videos of them on YouTube
Can you check from here:
These are usually close to real price, but they don't have everything
https://www.tehranmelody.com/studio/headphone?sort=p.price

said someone
for example Audio-Technica ATH-M50x = $165
it's more real than others
so if they have something good...
M50x is bad.
hm
Would anyone be able to recommend a cheap, low power receiver that has inputs for 3.5mm (or coaxial) and tos-link? Blutooth would be a bonus.
For context, I'm currently using the audio pass through in my monitor for my PC and Xbox to computer speakers and it makes an annoying hiss. I've found some cheap devices on ebay but am uncertain as to the quality. What do you guys think?
I've heard that the he400se has bad qc, should i be worried?
mine has no issues but having used it i would recommend the hd560s instead
Are you satisfied with Stereo or does it need to support surround sound?
And would you like a subwoofer output?
Regular stereo is fine. The speaker set is a Logitech all-in-one thing with a sub and only has inputs for one 3.5mm and L/R RCA.
By receiver, do you mean one like this?
Something like this would be more my speed.
Please don't get that one
It's beyond terrible
I don't need or want anything fancy. What would you recommend? Any particular brand names?
There doesn't really seem to be a middle ground
It's either those mass produced generic things or a fairly expensive one from a reputable brand
But I am likely looking in the wrong places
Golden knows a lot more than me, I'm sure he has a solution
Any alternatives then?
Fiio D03K would be a much better option
not true
There's a few really affordable listings on ebay. I'll try it out, thank you!
For going from the adapter to the speakers, does it matter if I use a 3.5mm cable or RCA? I have both.
It's not the worst. You'll know if somethings wrong within the first couple days. hifiman is pretty good about customer support. So worst case scenario you have to send a few emails and send it back and wait.
if it doesn't die in a week it wont break
if it does then hifiman will replace it
okay cools
why's that?
he400se is a little light on bass and the upper treble is kinda harsh
that’s just my opinion though maybe you’ll like it
hm
the hd560s are a bit more expensive though
i prefer the 400se technicalities
they are yeah but i think theyre a better first headphone
hmm
technicalities = sound stage and micro details
I prefer better sound lol
better sound is combination of both
but you don't have that
ah
not for 200$ at least
what are technicalities then
i dont think youd be able to notice technicalities on your first nice headphone
tuning is a lot more important
soundstage, imaging, layering, resolution
except for back and front imaging he400se does all of these better
plus the he400se requires an amp whereas the 560s doesnt
require is a strong word but they do get better with one
same with hd560s but that don't need one as much as 400se
I have an amp
i mean theyre not good off of my motherboard or utws5
which amp
its just a receiver with a headphone amp built in
yeah don't use that
lol
probably has a lot more power than a motherboard
the other choice is my uphoria um2
believe me that is likely a better choice
speaker tapping would be ideal but that is a level of autism I am not sure you are willing to go into
speaker tapping is getting headphone output out of speaker output?
not saying you need to speaker tap 400se just saying out of everything you have that may be the best solution
yea
I'd be willing to do that lol
you may suffer from noise though I don't know how noisy your receiver is
I'm sorry, do the he400se or the hd560s require an amp
well, sound better
400se would likely have noise from speaker taps
only 25 ohms
eh my receiver is slightly noisy
it's very old
that will probably be very noticeable with 400se
would the headphone out on a uphoria um2 even be that bad
its not that bad but
I don't know
its fine ig
test for yourself between the um2 or and the receiver headphone output
or the speaker taps if you want to see whether there is any noise
i could also just get a little usbc to headphone out
um2 is fine for that
I'd have to get usbc to 1/4" out and idk how available those are tho
why
you have a um2
idk
I've just heard that the amp on the um2 is ewaste
from @unique wind
okaay
@unique wind @molten lotus @lean grove thanks for the help
um2 on its way to be a better interface than the scarlet solo for 40% of the price
its not terribly better, just some steps ahead
being better whatsoever for 40% of the price still deserves praise
your mom is better for 40% the price of others
im sorry i had to
check under your bed
get out of my walls right now or I'm calling your mother
anyone have some recommendations for some BT headphones for like $50
i dont know of any at that price
You do but you wouldn't recommend them.
i actually dont know any of the ones at that price range by name
Raycon
headphones not earbuds
Doesn't Jabra have a pair?
genuinely no clue
i only know like three bluetooth headphones, ive never shopped for them
Anker has a $60 pair. But with their shady nature.
Yeah can't recommend anything at that price
JBL Tune 710bt
that is 50$?
80
In the past I had a soundcore vortex and they were good but the headband broke on them
So I got the life 2 neo but they are so small and they play a static sound that Is kinda annoying
I was looking at the q20+ if I could confirm they didn't have static
save up money for longer so you can get something that's not crap
i have those very basy
nah
anyone here have a recommendation for 6 channels audio USB soundcard? Found one from Sabrent (USB SND8, which has long gone), DriverGenius and Startech (not available in Indonesia)
6 channels of what?
6 inputs, 6 outputs, surround output
also sound cards aren't usb
this thing I mean
For surround sound?
Got a Logitech Z213 and Edifier R101V, want to repurpose it as surround, yea
been using two way splitters for it for 2 years now which is just
tho I've been mostly using the R101V as my main speakers especially after I decided to use the Z213 as sort of 'portable' speakers
but now that I'm gonna get an actual portable speaker, I'm going to use that Z213 again along with that R101V
any other budget options aside from those random chinese unnamed/ random brand 6 channels audio box?
also I know some might be reading this and like 'why don't just get a second hand 5.1 speakers and probably flip that speakers for a few bucks so you can get that actual 5.1 setup'
well I could, in fact I found a listing for a sony 5.1 setup for like, 450K IDR (30 bucks converted), problem is that when I have 30 bucks, if I got that 30 bucks from selling those two speakers I have, I'm kinda like do I want to spend money on something or just save it for something else
@ocean pulsar your time has come
Youve got the wrong guy
I'm a big believer in random Chinese unnamed and popup brands
well are those CM2062LX box is any good for this jank surround setup, and would it be reliable
I don't like recommending stuff I haven't tried but I don't see a problem
I guess the HD 560s isn't known for its base 😂
just give it some time
if you are unaccustomed to neutral headphones adaptation will take some time
it is
but your ears aren't able to discern the differences yet
keep using them for a day or two
then go back to your old headphones
Yeah I feel like too much bass is annoying and not enough bass is bad so I guess neutral means its in the middle alone with many other characteristics
you will notice significant differences
bet
ty
I like how they're not noise cancelling
in a sense
like I can hear everything around me but also its not distracting from the sound I am hearing
if that makes sense
yeah it feels nice not being in a fish bowl
and not having your mouth sounds and breathing be loud as fuck
literally
like hearing every noise your body makes
ew
or like if you swallow food or water or something
this is giving me flashbacks to the arctis pros
that loud ass gulp
Does that happen because your ears get accustomed to the silence
it happens when your ears are plugged
which iems and closed back headphones do to some degree
Oh
That’s why I can hear my saliva when I wear earbuds
yes
What are some good iems
With a long cable
mest mk2
idk about the cable
(For under $100)
arias, I still don't know about the cable I haven't used it in ages
For a friend, whats a good pair of headphones that have good bass
hd560s, dt880
for around $150
under $100 the two best options are probably 7hz salnotes zero at $25 and moondrop aria at like $70
but there's like 9999 iems under $100
you could shop for days
the stock cable on aria is really fucking bad
so theyre basically a $100 iem after you buy a new cable
how
oh
yeah I didn't use them a whole lot that's possible
cable itself is soft and nice though
To where if you touch it you can hear it in the iem?
no clue
if it's your first iem id get 7hz salnotes zero or moondrop chu and see if you like iems first
What are some other options for a good bass headphone for $150
bass resolution or emphasis
May I ask the difference
do you mean a headphone with a lot of bass
resolution is the bass quality
emphasis is the quantity
not exactly but close enough
i wonder how these measure
don't think you are getting much better than dt880 or hd560s in terms of open bass for below 150$
good actually wow
that's pretty alright damn
not surprising i love tangzu
was that the one you owned
oh the name cut off but it's tangzu zetian wu
does the adapter that comes with the hd 560s compromise the audio quality
i would assume they do
LMAO
idk i just assumed something with the computers sound card or something super technical
i shoulda just tested it myself i have the damn thing LOL
these might be the current budget iem champion
its possible for quality to deteriorate with plugging it into lots of stuff
@molten lotus
but that is mostly for active items like vu meters or audio displays etc etc
or amplifiers
not passive stuff like adapters and cable extensions
unless its like 1km long
because I have mine plugged into the behringer UMC22
yeah that's fine
do you think its worth for my friend to buy the HD 560s along with the UMC22 or is there a better option
what is the point if the iems dont come with anime covers
this unironically
akg k371 but they aren't open
they have emphasized bass he may like
but apart from bass emphasis he requested, it will be inferior to both hd560s and dt880
wdym
also is it worth for him to get the umc22 since he also plans on getting a stand alone mic in the future
i mean
i don't know
depends on his motherboard
m track solo is a better interface for around the same sum though
B550 Tomahawk is what he has
that doesn't explain anything
I can't just mathematically calculate the sound of a motherboard
but i mean for an XLR microphone it would be worth right
yeah sure
or is there a better option for an audio interface
it is cheaper too
the behringer i have is $69 rn
on amazon atleast
that m track is $49
is there a difference between the two or do they just work the smae
same
it used to be 40$
m track is better
Which one ? akg k371 ? (sorry wasn't following the convo)
yeah akg k371
these hd 560s are amazing i
its just so crisp
Also people complain about how tight they fit but i love it
Link me them?
link me ur moms addy
Nah
snnheiser 569 for $77 steal?
I can spend what I need I just don't wanna dump a lot of money into something that is probably gonna break next year anyway like they always do. I'm just looking for headphones to wear when using my phone watching videos and browsing the internet. I'm not a music kinda guy
I just don't wanna dump a lot of money into something that is probably gonna break next year anyway like they always do
your things are breaking because you're not spending enough money on them
cheap shit breaks
ive had an xm4 for I don't even know how long, 6+ years easily.
I literally sleep with it
I don't give a shit about it, and it still works with barely any signs of wear
just buy things that don't break and they won't break
Hello! Back from the deep web of lurking and am here to ask a question! (Like most people in my life, I only appear when I need something!) I am going on a trip and have 300$ cad gift card and wanted to ask what are the best true wireless earbuds? (I already own Aria's I just need something wireless.) As I am a part of this server of course sound quality is a priority but also ANC and battery life is important as I may only be able to charge once every couple days! I user an android.
what are the best true wireless earbuds?
airpod pro 2's
2's are better than the third gen?
yes
Are the Sennheiser ie300 good with a Audient EVO 4?
true. so at what price will the band not break into 2 near the ear
well ideally you want something with a metal headband.
cheapest option in that price point is something from koss, but its not wireless
i'd get a pair of earbuds instead. theres a lot less material to break and you're getting more bang for your buck
really?
ive always stayed away from them because i thought there is no way they could be cheaper while being the same or better
although id be worried about the short battery life with ear buds and ear problems
well think of it like this. how much material goes into making a headphone vs making an earbud?
how much space does it take to ship it?
earbuds are also a lot easier to tune so the cost of engineering also goes down quite a bit.
and you're right that the battery life is shortened, but with the case it is really quite comparable.
anything?
I am thinking of connecting a computer, laptop, Switch (?), a phone
maybe
but primary it is the computer
@unique wind dis it? https://a.co/d/0OCSmfU
Another option I came up with was another edifier pair R1280Ts. They might have a Bluetooth pair as well if you want that
Most people speakers won’t have more than I think 2-3 inputs so you can consider an audio switcher such as the Schiit SYS
how much would u guys rate the moondrop-chu
maybe a fifteen
I think they’re pretty good for being $20
oh hey, it's Nils. What's up o/
out of?
I’ll give them a 6
should i pick the KZs or moondrop chu
Well if those are your choices definitely pick the Chus
But uhh there was another IEM that came out recently which is supposedly better called the Zero something
Around the same price
inputs as in devices right?
yeah, I might use a combination of those.
thank you!
You’re welcome!
Kz Edx Pro is this any ebtter?
All KZs suck
ow
i came across this CCA
hows that?
the reviews seem to be saying ITS GREAT for every iem i search for
CCA?
ig 💀
wait
lemme put the link
Buy CCA LYRA HiFi Single Dynamic Driver In-ear Earphone: Shop for in-ear earphones online at the best prices in India. Choose from SoundMAGIC, Shanling earphones & more at Headphone Zone. Enjoy expert advice from our Headphone Gurus. Avail Free Express Shipping, Cash on Delivery, and EMI.
well ig since udk abt this brand ig it sucks
Correct assumption
ukw can u suggest me the best one under $30
i am not a huge audio guy just want a nice pair of iems
These are supposed to be pretty good
cca cra
and cra+ for that matter
The two iems that accidentally were good
they're tuned to be more bassy but it's shockingly well balanced
can't say the same for just about every other kz/qkz/cca brand product
if you're looking for more neutral sound then by all means go salnotes zero, great iem even tho I hate its build
tangzu wan’er is salnotes tuning without bad build
Hey folks, I have a pair of nice Linn Kann MK2 bookshelf speakers, I'd like to get them hooked up to my PC and ability to play from phones over bluetooth. Does anyone have any recommendations? I'd like USB and bluetooth built in ideally, but they are kinda optional given that I can just hook the PC up another way, and buy a bluetooth dongle. Just in case it's relevant, I'm in the UK
Hello I am wanting to buy headset gaming for around 50 dollars
I am thinking hyper v2x
Thoughts (
Any headphone will do
tell your mom that im canceling our plans
@molten lotus what would be the minimum price I have to pay for a good pair of headphones
define good
good as in
going from razer headphones, the difference is immediately noticeable
iems are fine
@molten lotus you know?
i mean
was looking at the tangzu wan'er
at 500$ I wouldn't mind not upgrading my setup further
dac/amp not included
at that point edition xs provides everything high end headphones can at a lower level but still good
below 200$ hd560s, he400se or dt880 250ohm is what id pick
$150ish for headphones or $25 for iems
damn!
200-500 is really cursed because xs exists and anything below it is a significant downgrade
Does anyone know the aliexpress link to this?
i doubt thats real
hd560s + tangzu wan'er + apple dongle = $200 audio setup
an upgrade from that would be hifiman edition xs like klaus said
but then youd want an actual amp so it's a little costly
this way you get a neutral open back headphone and some iems with extra bass depending on your mood
hm
That's mega cringe man
Minimum $100 can get you a good pair. Id say $200 has some good options too
In the Market for new Headset
I currently have a Creative SoundBlaster H7, that is kinda falling apart and I could need some help finding something new (:
I'm looking for a new (USB) Headset for 100-200€. With full sound, (virtual) surround sound. A okay/great mic. I mostly love my current one because the Sound is full and clear, while also being great surround. Also it's comfortable
Currently thinking about the Creative SXFI AIR GAMER, because it has a lot of the thing I like and Creative has always made great headsets.
Or does anybody have any other recommendations?
is headset a requirement or mic+headphone is fine
you'll get way more value out of separate mic and headphone
sennheiser pc38x is the best gaming headset but it uses a heaphone jack instead of usb
the only downside is that it's open back.
also the person seems to be from EU(uses euro after all) and that will add a lot of cost
open back is a positive if you dont have an unusually noisy office/bedroom but youre right i dont know how pricing is in europe
is Dan Clark any good?
They are good headphones with one massively major steaming pile of shit flaw.
not in the lower end of their headphone lineup
Even in the low end, they're comfy and well built.
Tuning is sub-optimal. But it's not like they're bloated or piercing.
Well Headset would be great but not necessary.
I have a seperate Mic already so its fine
And yes I'm in Europe
Also I look at USB because I dont have a good DAC
And not a fan of Open Back because my PC is sometimes way to noisy and I live near a busy street
You can get a cheap usb dac as well if you want along with some headphones
they aren't terrible, just not as good as other options
Correct.
And. Well. They are terrible.
But only in one way.
what is this flaw you keep teasing nils
Hey schiit upgraded their dac to USB C. Nice
holy schiit
Good schiit
the one flaw with their dac is gone
They sound congested from the lack of dynamics
Like there's cotton in your ears
Sadly they changed the finish of the silver one ...
It won't fit the esthetic of the magni3+
im convinced my schiit dac will probably still be working after im dead
if you really need closed back, AKG k361/371 is basically ur only option fro headphones.
if u care about sound quality that is, if not we'll grab anything really, all gaming headsets are trash
or you could get some IEMs
Oh really? That sucks
Totally yes
So I should try to find a used modi3+ then
I mean, Cloud 2 and MH751/752 aren't trash, not great, but also not easy to dismiss at their price points
Mh751 are discontinued
mehhhhhh
You can still buy them new 🤷♂️
If you’re getting a new dac, you might as well get the new modi because yeah. If you care about aesthetics though, yeah I suppose
Tell me when AKG will improve the build quality of K361/371 😜
They still list them on their site. When did they discontinue them?
IEMs?
TO be honest I am not a audiophile guy. I justlike the Soundquality of my Soundblaster/my TrueWireless Momentum 3 or my WH-1000XM4s
I like the virtual surround sound and that they are full
Idk if CM has discontinued the, but Takstar still makes the micless version
Carmo, mate, is it confirmed that they discontinued it?
IEMs=airpods pro but with wires.
urgh, that's so wrong
IEM stands for In Ear Monitor
You may know them as earbuds. While the term is incorrect, that’s what they are called most of the time
go back to the department of pedantry please
Earbuds is a thing of it's own, it's just that the clarification of terminology is kind of a mess
Well for now I'm using a dongle with the conexan don't remember the model of the chip ... bit better than the modi2 to my ear
Oh the modi 2 is garbage
Might just keep using the dongle and sell the modi2
I mean what you said is like saying that a car is a McLaren F1
bhphoto says it is
fffffffffffffffff
Well, Takstar still makes them, so probably someone will pick them up
Then I guess B&H doesn’t sell it anymore but cooler masters site leads to an Amazon page where they are being sold brand new
not by coolermaster tho
they are working through stock but the 2 is no longer orderable
the 1 still is
but the prices are so inflated its awful
yep
okay, I wanna hear ur quick explanation of what IEMs are to a person that has never heard the term.
That’s a car yes. A type of car
AirPods Pro are a type of IEM
yea theres nothing wrong with saying a car is a mclaren f1 shaped object lel
It’s got wheels, an engine, a steering wheel, it goes nyoooom
some cars go whrr or brr or brap tho
The only difference is it looks like a space ship and has no roof
the f1 has a roof
Well the car does but not the formula one
in fact the f1 looks like a fairly tame sports car by modern standards
mclaren f1 is a specific model
But the point it you can totally classify AirPods Pro as an IEM
Just because they’re wireless and made by a fruit doesn’t mean they are what they are
Iems come in all shapes and sizes and forms
iem is just a pretentious name for earbuds
explain why
airpods are earbuds and airpod pros are iems
earbuds don't seal
^
i guess 95% of people use the wrong term then
because all earphones get called earbuds
except audiophiles who use iems
i mean any iem can be an earbud if used wrong enough lol
All of these words can and are used interchangeably
it was so uncomfortable
I used those semi recently and I gave up using them

thats the opinion i share as well because even manufacturers refer to earphones with silicone tips that seal as earbuds
Yeah I don’t think it matters either unless you want to be accurate
i mean welcome to language in general
language is by design flexible
we invent new slang every day
if u tell ur girl she actually doesnt have earbuds because they dont have a separate tip that seals shes gonna block you
Unless you want to be pedantic.
That too
It's only important if the term you're using is so incorrect that it actually causes confusion.
Everyone has the same thing in mind when you say earbuds or iem.
There was one case where a guy actually wanted earbuds/earphones but everyone else was talking about the ones that got the tips
In ear monitor is a type of a headphone that you stick into your ears canal.
and which seals using foam or silicone tips.
still , giving an example is simpler to understand
and even ur hq comparison, an F1 is definitely a still a car
My example actually was kinda off from the point I wanted to make, IEMs can be wireless or wired and just saying airpods doesn't mean that it's an IEM as Carmon already explained
mmkay indeed they can be wireless
though tbh, most of the wireless iems are meh
except the already well known big brands for some reason
they managed to make pretty good sound
I agree, but then again you can make any IEM a wireless IEM, just FiiO UTWS
fiio utws5 is great
yeah
would be hard with ety tho

unless u use a 90 degree adaptor
I mean QCY T5 is fine, Mobvoi Earbuds ANC are fine, Moondrop is actually a bit more meh than these 2, galaxy buds/+/pro/2 are fine... They aren't the best perfomers, but they are convenient
ye wireless is convinient af
the case for the utws5 is massive which would usually annoy me but they fit totally fine in my work pants
My UTWS3 has some stupid quirks that get annoying fast, but overall I didn't expect it to be this good
i wouldnt put them in jeans tho
As for ety's they are hard to use period, well unless you want to experience penetration of your ears😁
@ocean pulsar which IEMs do you use with your UTWS?
what are they
really person to person dependant
some can use them for an entire day without issues
you get used to them
👽
TWS Adapters for pretty much any IEM with a removable cable
no I mean what are the annoying quirks you mentioned
i can use them for 1-2 hours no problem(and i take them in just to go to the bathroom and whatnot, then i can use them for another 1-2 hours)
I mean you get used to anything, even Beats Studio
I meant the comfort

you are naturally sensitive to most things in your ear
my ears are ran through
Oh, well randomly can drop audio for a few seconds, randomly won't shut down when you put them in case, sometimes won't turn on when you take them out of the case
I have had the first two with bt20s pros
but not the last one
really weird that one
connection is sometimes glitchy with my utws5 as well
they usually connect to my creative bt-w4 dongle automatically
but on my laptop and phone i have to manually connect
and sometimes when i do that theyll connect, disconnect, then actually connect
other than that theyre great
idk tbh that's the same with my airpods pro
bluetooth is just kinda ass that's how it goes
maybe that's just general bluetooth shenanigans
i dont own utws5s, i use salnotes zero with utws3
i should probably start using my salnotes on my utws as well
instead of zetian wu
ill get longer battery life
Yeah, that was what I was referring to 😅
Yeah, but it was less annoying with my Mobvoi Eabuds ANC that honestly don't sound good enough that I could move back to them at any point, it's just that my NF Audio NA2's are definitely better sounding 😄
i found out that if u just take the airpods slowly out of the case( as in you open the case, wait 5 seconds. take one airbud. wait 5 seconds. take the other and close the case) and also slowly put them back in they always turn on and off correctly
and if bluetooth is starting to act up just pause ur music or whatever for 5 seconds and it'll also fix itself
at the same time, I never did anything like that and my Mobvoi Eabuds ANC 97% of the time shut down and turned on properly, only those 3% of the time I needed to place them in the case once more to get them to do what I want
yeah, i also have had like 90-95% success rate with my APP, but i was just annoyed enough with these 5-10% that i am now doing the slower route and never in the past like 4-5 months have they incorrectly turned off or on
maybe that's the same for the utws3
Eh maybe
so, from what I searched, it is basically if someone decides to take their IEMs (from what I heard IEMs sound great), and convert them into TWS right?
So, in your opinion, for someone in the know, what should one get? a TWS? or an IEM with FiiO UTWS?
as always it depends
if you want better sound quality, anything even decent with utws = better sound quality than any consumer tws
but all of the practicalities are limited and the utws have fewer features
also if you want cheap, you can get awesome sounding iem+tws combo for under 50 that is solidly on par with the top end consumer stuff
i like cca cra+ and az09 pro combo that i have now
tws: noise cancelling, passthrough, smaller size
iem with utws5: sound quality
your choice
i choose using iems because i don’t care about noise cancelling
should i get salnotes zero of truthear hola
tangzu wan’rer
it’s salnotes tuning with better build and packaging
Guys how much should i spend on a dual speaker for my pc?
Ik pricing is subjective but im unsure
350$ imo
$1000
that entirely depends on how much money you make
so it's up to you
Okay
if you give us a budget of what youre willing to spend we can give recommendations
Lets say 150 cuz i cant go 350 lol
do you live in america
Nah uk
edifier mr4 or edifier r1700bt depending on how much space you have
Alright ill have a look at them
Im not sure either i might just get some cheap working ones
You reckon 50 would be good?
Or too low?
Oooh they look nice
Which one is better audio quality wise
1700
but theyre a lot bigger considering theyre going on a desk
if you have the space theyre the better speakers
Alright thanks
the bts model has support for adding a subwoofer in the future
the standard bt doesnt
up to you if thats worth the extra 10 or 20 bucks
Whats a subwoofer
Lol
a big speaker that specifically makes bass
Ooh
These?
r1280t is the middleground between the mr4 and 1700bt
theyd probably work well for a desk without being huge
if it's only 10 quid more id get them so the option is there
Alright
I havent checked it i seen it on google maybe its wrong
Yeah wrong model lol
They linked it as r1700bt
that wouldve been a really good deal
are these available in the uk?
Cant get em in uk
ah rip
Yeahh i seen it before
Just didnt know what it was
Okay so you say r1700bt?
R1280t as middle ground
Fair
@unique wind what subwoofer would i add to the r1700bts ideally?
Ideally you could get a rythmik or a rel
Lmao
How much would it cost tho?
Cuz thats what im seeing
I wouldnt need it if it costs more than like a 100
you can find ones for like 150 but theyre not exceptionally good
3-500 is the starting point for a good sub
They're gonna be like 2-3 times the price of the speaker for the cheapest ones
And?
It's dumb
Only if you're not living in the ideal world
Anybody know what this is? Like an album, ik its a cd
Put it in
Also if only there was really tiny writing on the circumference that you could read
My first thought was "heck, this disc is rotted to hell and back!"
But then I noticed it's just the print on the label lol
In case anyone here hasn't seen a CD with Disc-rot yet, here ya go: (there's like legit holes in the top layers of this CD-R where it started rotting)
Surprisingly still reads fine in VLC outside of a few crackling noises at the very end of the last track...
Appears to be a music CD, specifically, this one.

CASE / INSERT / BOOKLET ARE: EXCELLENT PLUS (EX+). ORIGINAL CASE SHOWS NORMAL SHELF WEAR, NOT BROKEN OR CRACKED, WORKS LIKE IS SUPPOSED TO. BOOKLET IS CLEANBUT SHOWS TWO LIGHT DENTS ON THE SIDE, BUT NOTHING MAJOR.
I guess that part of the reason why audio stuff is so hard in my view.
if you think that PC info on parts are complicated? Audio stuff is like dark souls
yeah audio is annoying as fuck
Sm7b distance: right up at mouth, fist away, hangloose?
the capsule is mounted pretty far back, so you can have it pretty close without issue
I just absolutely fucking despise the proximity effect lok
Wish more mics had variable d technology
yeah, sm7b capsule is far back enough that iirc it doesn't get as much proximity effect
Ive actually got a recording going while im playing civ switching between right next and fist every 15mins to see which works best with my voice lol
you could also just do that with a quick sample
I could but i could also do this lol
so i encountered a problem with my earbuds: up until yesterday everything was working fine, but yesterday the left bud went ultra quiet. in attempts of investigation of what could be the problem, i noticed that it's "broken" only with the eartip on, without one, it sounds just as it's supposed to. i tried swapping out different eartips, cleaning them completely, nothing helped. im stuck thinking, please help
realme buds air pro are the ones i have
curious which one sounds better to you guys
first one for sure
Hey everyone, I’m not sure if this is the best place to ask but could anyone assist me with a question about headphones? I’m looking for advice on buying over-the-ear headphones but not spend like a ton of money or get something bad, and I have very little experience buying headphones so I don’t know what to go for. So if anyone could help id really appreciate it, if not if anyone could point me towards where to find someone to ask id appreciate that as well.
how much money are you comfortable spending and how do you plan on using these?
I’d plan on using them for like traveling and like kind of a daily use thing when I’m not using ear buds if that makes sense. I’d be fine spending like idk maybe a couple hundred
traveling, so primarily you'd want comfort, isolation, with some expectation of durability
Yeah that sounds right
hmmm.
i dont really spend too much time looking at those types since i prefer in-ears or cheap stuff for on the go.
like i got a pair of beat up old koss porta pros that i use that have lasted me for ages.
Well I already got air pods so I don’t really need ear buds
Ok thanks
Wonder what one could do with physically modifying the shape of their ears to change sound
Probably nothing good
hd560s
dt 990s or cloud ii
if you’re looking in the dt 990 price range i recommend:
dt880, akg k371, sennheiser hd560s, and hifiman he400se
I second that.
What’s a good closed back headset for up to 400 dollars? This will be for music usually rock/classical but occasionally hip hop. Ideally I’ll use it as a pc headset as well with a modmic
I’m also open to getting an amp as well
Looking for a replacement for my DT770 since my dog destroyed it
I have a USB amp too. Recommend me good headphones. No microphone needed. If you recommend trash like razor I'll block you
Max price would be 150
i gotchu bro
For gaming and music
Sorry I forgot to add that
they are wireless but can be wired with aux cable
highest decibel ive gotten is 111
great bass
insanely good for the price
great surround
high fidelidy
sennheisers, as much as you can afford?
bro this is some grade a trash
ive used em daily for over a year
150€
you can use a garbage bin every day for a decade, doesn't mean it's anything but a pile of trash
Not interested in wireless.
I want good quality bro
this is those exact same headphones at the opposite corner of my room to where i am on max volume
HD 559
comes in well under budget, a respected open-back audiophile-grade headphone and uh
isn't amazon garbage lol
Recommend me some good ones
K361 .-.
bruh i just about to recommend the on sale 560s https://headphones.com/products/sennheiser-hd-560s?_pos=1&_psq=hd+560s&_ss=e&_v=1.0
but yea, k371
tho build wise its a massive downgrade from the 770
“Great bass”
Yeah no
Probably to consumer ears, aka lower quality louder bass = better
Depends on who you ask, but about the same
Is there even a better one ?
What you mean
Like the construction of the k371 feels way cheaper than the 770
Is the quality good enough?
I post headphone related videos every week over on the headphone show:

Thank you Neon Marvels for this great sign! https://www.neonmarvels.com...
Which one is better
Prob yea, if you only use it on desktop
My budget is 150€
K371 should land around that price range
Yeah, are there better options still ?
There is a comparable option, the nth 100 that's featured in the video
Apple usb c adapter randomly decided to stop working
On my IEMs theres so much impedance and static it sounds like a microwave
Guys what headsets do you recommend if i want to upgrade from HD6xxs
None, I would recommend just buying something with different sound signature, and continue using both
Any recommendations?
Depends on budget
A true 6xx “upgrade” would be like 1800-3500
(A zmf headphone for example)
Considering 6x0 midrange is what one would use 6x0 for specifically
If you just want something that’s technically better, the answer going to be different
But it won’t do everything as nicely as the 6xx

What don't you like about the 6xx
Its not that i dont like it, in fact I like it a lot but i though, what if there is something out there that could impress me more
Hd800 is pretty impressive
edition xs
he1000
hd800
is the element 3 amp+dac worth its salt and price? would rather have 1 unit for both. finally sold off a bunch of those other crap headphones. Hifi XS should be here next week too!
aio dac amps are generally not good
not sure about element 3 but element 1 and 2 was not good
anyone have recommendations for good headphones, I have a very specific need I'm trying to fill. I want to get a pair of wireless headphones that I can use for everything, gaming, travel, zoom meetings in a coffee shop. I don't want a boom mic though which makes it hard to find a good pair. They have to be light so ideally under 270 grams. I am willing to spend up to 400 bucks for them. I got a razor barracuda headset and it is good except for the fact that it is too heavy at 300 grams, which is why I'm looking for another one.
first thing that comes to midn thats that light is the hd6xx
But the 6xx aint exactly a travel pair of headphones
ya, doesn't look like they are wireless either but I could be looking at the wrong ones
I was considering going more of the travel route because they don't have boom mics but I'm majorly concerned about latency for gaming because I do game often
i dont think there's any possible combination of lightweight, low latency wireless, and good audio quality for an over ear headphone
you can however do that with in ear monitors
you can have lightweight and low latency but it wont have good audio quality because itll be a gaming headset
do you think id have a better time getting a wireless gaming with a boom for like 150 and a traveling headest for another 150?
non gaming headphones and a dedictated mic are a good combo
carrying two sets of headphones kinda defeats the goal of lightweight and portable
I only really game at home, the travel part would just be songs on my phone or zoom meetings
wait werent you in the techsource server?
i think
what headphone combos do you guys use then?
yes
i got banned there yesterday cause someone that im in a private server with used a emote they didnt like
very trigger happy those admins
fr
IEMs on the go, good headphones at home
what's the name of your home headphones if you have good ones?
Audeze LCD-2
dang, the audeze look insane. I wish I had that budget
600 is a bit over budget for me
define a bit
I want to stick to 400 bucks
very cursed
since xs costs 500$ and is significantly better than any other headphone below it
id say to stick to like idk 150ish dollars if you wont be spending 500-600
Pocket the rest for idk a cool lunch at a michelin starred hotel or something lol
yeah
XD
get hd560s and call it a day
alright, thank you all for the suggestions. I'll def look into all of those options more
hifiman mid xs
on god
bass boosted ananda with a less secure headband
they are pretty different
how
stage mostly
i mean the XS is undoubtedly better
but it's just an ananda made cheaper and better not a totally different headphone
that is just what frequency response graphs say
which are inherently flawed and differ
i wonder if there are photographs comparing their drivers
im curious how similar the ananda stealth and xs are internally
I wouldn't expect them to be too different
because it looks like ananda stealth + 5db subbass and $200 cheaper
wouldn't be surprised if they are the exact same driver
which is good
people prefer one over the other frequently
especially with the release of ananda stealth
yeah that's not surprising
what graphs are you looking at
5db is a huge difference
