Can somoene explain something to me. I changed my BIOS to an EVGA XOC BIOS awhile back. That means at minimum my fan speeds run at 30%. At "30%" my fan speed is 1100RPM. If 1100RPM is 30%, that means 100% is ~3667RPM. EZPZ. Okay, so I set my fan speed to 100%. Well when you do that my fan speed is 3000RPM. 30% of 3000RPM is 900. I paid the math budget, and the math ain't mathin'. Peepo_MathsConfusedThink

Yeah probably something like that. I might switch back to the normal BIOS, if I do (or if I flip the switch to one of the other two BIOS's already loaded onto the card) I'll see if it does the same thing. This is the correct XOC BIOS for this card, that much I know for sure.

I find it uncanny he’s the only big tech channel with a team that are never or rarely spotted on camera and say very very little when they are. I also find it very do as I say, not as I do when he pulls out company financials to poke at but will not voluntarily show his own.

#

There’s no surprise really. You can’t cry about it when you’re muddying the name of someone you want to work with. If he doesn’t like them he should choose not to work with them but instead he waits for them to do it to him to play victim and get a video out of it

#

So that’s Nvidia and AMD that won’t give him freebies.

Alongside his choice not to use ASUS

Oh and to be fair he won’t use NZXT either

The biggest hit is that they won't get "advanced" items so they can do launch-day reviews.

@topaz veldt we might need to skip the X3D2. In productivity it’s a gain of a couple of points. In gaming it’s either the same or usually worse by a couple of points.

We already knew this ahead of the launch due to increased latency.

# slim pebble What’s your take on it?

So here's my take - I ran Cinebench 2026 and got 10,435 on my daily driver 280mm AIO SFF 9950X3D. Compared to HUBs 10,012. So i have a 4.2% increase over HUBs baseline on 9950X3D. If 9950X3D2 can get 4.0-4.2% increase over HUBs stock findings with PBO/CO, then we'd be looking at 10,850 - 10,900 points in 2026 which yeah still not a good percentage increase for the $ but its a smidge better.

#

If its 10,850 in 2026 w/ PBO/CO then its an almost 8.4% performance increase over a stock 9950X3D

#

Also like I said this 10,435 score is from an SFF compact build with average thermals

livid flame
#

It’s all about real world testing baby

#

How did the X3D2 do in productivity? More or less the same as the 1?

topaz veldt
#

In a nut shell @slim pebble no one should run out and buy one... but

brisk jolt
livid flame
#

If you’re dropping $900 (probably be $1000 once it retails) on a CPU and you haven’t got a 5090. You need to re-evaluate your setup choices.

brisk jolt

all jokes aside 5nail will be walking out of mc with such immense aura having the 9950x3d2 dual edition in his hands

topaz veldt

Well really the 9950X3D2 has no correlation to GPU what so ever - its inherit performance benefits is in compilation and such

young void
topaz veldt
#

I would expect most setups will have a 9950X3D2 and more basic video card

livid flame
#

It will be made in a limited amount. First dual CCD large L3 cache processor. Will be a little piece of CPU history to own

livid flame

Will be interesting to see v Intel as they’re also aiming for 288mb level 3 cache on 2nm

#

Latency of 2 CCDs v latency of tile design battle

topaz veldt

I personally think the 9950X3D2 is a test for high TDP/PPT Zen6

its an experiment for the consumer mobos

livid flame

I won’t expect Intels design going to dual CCD any time soon

steel stream
topaz veldt
#

Intel will be doing bLLC but not in the same manner

livid flame
#

You can just make tiles bigger, you don’t need to bolt them on

devout ridge

nowadays people are willing to spend shitloads of money for cpu performance anyways, so amd said “fuckit, if they’ll buy em we’ll release it”

steel stream

It’s 2 chiplets that are 8p16e

placid blaze

If a 9950X3D doesn't bottleneck a 5090 I fail to see the application for X3D2 in consumer/HEDT

Would be interesting to see how Intel would layer given their current cpu design
