as i said, even 22GB VRAM dual 1080 Ti works fine from perspective of being able to handle the model up to 120k context length, just the prompt processing is pain on these. So if i can get something which can do prompt processing 3-4 times faster, plus has more VRAM available to bump up that context length to 150k+, i take it. I wish i could justify the cloud costs, but with the recent issues people have with Claude subs...
For me, Qwen 3.5 35B mostly worked out just fine. It's a lot slower on my HW, but not unusably slower. With the mentioned prompt processing speed bump, it would be absolutely reasonable speed for local use
having said that, i just spent 550 euros on a phone so i can give my brother my current phone 😄
