If you have 100FPS on a 240Hz display then your options are:

this new dynamic framegen update doesn’t change this dilemma in any way
it just makes it easier to use option 2

you also have to sacrifice more and more FPS to maintain VRR as you increase refresh rate because the ~0.3ms buffer stays the same
it’s ~469fps on a 540Hz monitor for example which is sacrificing a ton of frames
TLDR framegen, especially dynamic framegen aims to obsolete VRR on higher refresh rate displays
VRR’s main usefulness is in <144Hz gaming
