I have decided, for now, I am not trying to put SteamOS on my original Legion Go. I would like to. However, 99% of the time I'm using it I have it plugged in so battery life isn't the biggest deal in the world to me currently, I really don't feel like working out all of the kinks right now that I may need to do, I don't feel like reinstalling all my games right now, and frankly, since I don't have any laptops or other computers readily available at the moment like I had previously I use my Lenovo Legion Go as my backup Windows PC for troubleshooting and other things, it would be harder (or in some cases impossible) to do those things on SteamOS. When I get a new backup Windows laptop when I get a new job I might install it on may try SteamOS then, but I think I'm just going to try Xbox Full Screen Experience for now. I definitely want to at least fuck around with SteamOS in the future, whether on this handheld or if I get another one sometime. I know that Microsoft has said they're "committed on improving Windows" recently (we'll have to see how that goes), but they're definitely going to have to keep working on optimizing Windows for handheld and laptops. Steam with SteamOS and Mac have been wiping the floor with them overall in terms of improving their OS for portable devices.

I love them, but like I said I am using them plugged in 99% of the time. Might not be your thing if you're going for pure battery life, but I don't remember all of the statistics for battery life vs the Switch 2. I definitely think I am going to get a Switch 2 at some point either way though since I have missed out on the vast majority of mainline Nintendo games and never ended up getting a Switch 1. I think R26 is better than R24 from what I've heard, but yeah I don't know enough about the tests themselves to make that judgement. R23 is still my baseline and my go-to for messing around with overclocking benchmarks, but I like to use the other ones just to see their scores too.

I know this CPU gets ~35,000-37000 (+/- 1000) on R23 through all my tweaking and messing around (Lowest I have gotten is 34,000 something, highest is 38,000 ever since the microcode updates and Intel Default Settings, not counting back in the day before things were changed to stop early degradation. The most average score is 36,000 something. Through all my tweaking and messing around that is the most common score I have gotten. My current settings have it getting either high 36,000 or low to mid 37,000)

Speaking of passwords and what not, I never said anything about this on this Discord. So when I signed into Apple they said my password had been found in a leak and telling me I should change it. I hadn't used my Apple account in forever, so this was an OLD password I used for a long time. A good one, not one that is likely to be used by someone else. I checked my password on HaveIBeenPwned to see if they found the leak that it was compromised in, they didn't find anything. Well, on a whim, I randomly decided to Google that password later for shits and giggles to see if anything popped up. There were 3 results on the entire internet....... I know how the password was leaked. All three website were shady Russian websites for free Minecraft accounts to play on. I check the websites, and sure enough, there was my (very VERY old) email and password for my Minecraft account. The posts were talking about how you needed an account to play on certain big Minecraft servers, blah blah blah, and then specifically said do not try to change the passwords or anything because this will lead to accounts being taken down and becoming unusable. So, there is a very good chance some Russian kids were using my Minecraft account at one time before they changed the log in system and whatnot

I have NO idea how it leaked, though.

I know this is a tech discord and now a jewelry discord, but I recently found out you can't put emeralds in an ultrasonic cleaner like you can most rings/jewelry. Apparently emeralds don't have a natural smooth finish and virtually ALWAYS have cracks, crevices, and scratches on their surface, so they're filled in with a special oil that makes it look smooth and flawless like regular gemstones. If you put an emerald in an ultrasonic cleaner it WILL completely fuck up the finish and most jewelers are not trained in repairing the oil finish so you're shit out of luck unless you find a very specific jeweler who does that. Honestly man, fuck emeralds. There are so many better green stones out there, both expensive and cheap ones.

If I ever wanted emerald jewelery for WHATEVER reason I'm just going with another green stone.

An hour should be fine for base stability testing, but refer to people here who have much more experience than me. I use Karhu ram tester too and I know that people let that thing go for a very long time. One ram manufacturer recommends up to ~12500% on that

IINA uses MPV whereas VLC uses libVLC, basically summed up as VLC will be more compatible with a wider range of codecs and tools, but IINA will be more efficient at the codecs that it's good at, on top of being more specialized for MacOS being nearly entirely written in swift

Any ideas why a Macbook, model A2251 (MacBook Pro i5 2.0GHz 13" (Mid 2020) 2TB SSD) would suddenly stop booting entirely. I've tried resetting PRAM/NVRAM; won't boot into recovery mode, won't boot into safe mode, can't access any tools or terminal, the farthest I get is internet recovery which errors out 2003F or 2005F over wifi and ethernet connection. Hello, I recently bought a pc from Lenovo, at first everything was okay, worked great, but then every few hours I played the screen would seem to “dissolve” in a way, go all static and then go blank completely, controls wouldn’t work, sound would stay on but I couldn’t do anything, it’s extremely frustrating as I JUST bought this and is there anything I can do about this? I reseated ram and Gpu, reset bios to factory, installs new drivers, etc, can anyone help me with this or am I cooked?

In the meantime to check off common issues, can try setting both monitors to the same refresh rate in advanced display settings, or try and check if it needs a driver update (if running Nvidia the Nvidia app is easiest to auto update). But wishing luck non the less

From what I can tell, yeah. My theory is that Intel tried really hard to bin for 290K’s and it actually delayed the refresh for awhile, until they decided they couldn’t bin hard enough and just released em all as 270K+’s. I still need to test it, but i genuinely think my chip could do 290K clocks
