download DDU
disconnect the system from the internet (either unplug Ethernet cable, or turn off Wifi)
run DDU and follow its instructions to reboot in to Safe Mode, let DDU work in Safe Mode
Whilst in Safe Mode - open gpedit.msc from Win+R, delve to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Updates - "Manage updates offered from Windows Update" and set Do not include drivers with Windows Updates to "Enabled" (this prevents Windows from grabbing drivers Microsoft has signed so YOU control driver updates)
Reboot to Normal Mode
install the clean AMD drivers and reboot to make sure they're working

you might just be better using something like Bazzite or CachyOS as SteamOS only has AMD GPU drivers built-in and is made in a way it's beyond a PITA to add other drivers to it as a user.

This ASUS TuF 1440p panel allegedly has 10 Bit colour, but can only do it at 144Hz because it has HBR2 DP & HDMI 2.0

Well upscaling and frame gen on consoles in theory, don’t have that big a latency penalty

It should be more than half better due to vram soldered to the board already giving much improved latency

This is in theory - as it depends on the APU/OS ofc also

As long as your software isn’t as bad as crimson desert, your console should be fine

They already had that and it resulted in the soap opera effect, which most people were not particularly fond of.

I imagine that if a TV maker actually implemented something like framegen, they would lose a flipton of money on such from little to no sales for such a product to pay for the allocation in manufacturing it and securing the needed parts.
