It's the cheapest 4070ti on the market
They should have focused on those by the way
call your senator man
CUDA? Deep Learning?
they simply need to stop putting things under the DLSS name, as I mentioned before. Its not helping their cause when it comes to education
CUDA is a coding language, apps that use CUDA can be accelerated with CUDA Cores. Deep Learning is basically what AI does, it looks at a ton of samples and uses them for whatever may be desired
Why
Exactly, especially when they're calling those "enhancements" DLSS5 like it's going to be enabled by default as long as DLSS5 upscaling is
She deep learns on my CUDA till I ray trace
i'm pretty confident this new addition won't be directly tied to any of the others

I hope it won't, but it definitely ain't good to put that under the DLSS name, especially in this climate
Hrrrmmm... If only they shamelessly gave the irl version a swan beak, then I'd accept it. Lol.
I wish they made money or something from dlss model features succeeding in particular so they could tell the 'enhancements' aren't doing well
funny “make my game look the same but way more performance” button go brrr
That’s how I use DLSS
Run on balanced, get near if not basically native image quality, generate 3 frames per frame, suddenly the game is incredibly well performing
DLSS4.5 is legit
As long as you can turn the neural enhancements off, DLSS5 hopefully just does the same but even better
GIVE IT TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
I don’t care if I can get 600fps on a game I’m probably turning on DLSS Quality anyway
AMD has the opportunity to do the funniest thing and show how FSR4 doesn't do this
@pure garnet same price
4070ti super
but it's a 1 hour drive and a 1 hour ferry away
Oh Lord, I recognized what happened with this instantly. xD
DLSS 5 turned harrison ford into ai generated henry cavill
AMD's version. Native vs. FSR4.5
I especially don't like how it kinda eugenicizes the characters, it removes anything that could be percieved as a 'flaw'
Fair enough lmao
hey fsr 4.5 is pretty good
expect for the fact like 2 games uspport it
go with the joke, jerry
pretty good if good was a ps2 graphics
Ferry cost like 80 cad right?
hop on the ferry unc
20 cad
For no car?
for car at night
Basically, the same problem with a lot of AI image models. They get nearly everything wrong somehow.
OH MY GOD THEY INCRESAED THE PRICES
Yeah
This case looks so nice i think imma get it in like a month
@turbid locust if I’m in a lancool 207 is there a reason I shouldn’t be able to run 65535
400w gpu
idk man 5 makes video games look like ai slop
micron won’t do 65535
it’s like 49172 or something that it maxed at
oh weird
@merry stirrup what’s the micron max refi again
That is what that says
if there’s like a forum post people go off of for d5 tuning would you mind sending the link
DLSS 4.5 model L is seriously impressive, I override all my games to use it now in the app, more expensive then M but looks better
I think both presets are actually fantastic
nvidia recommends ultra performance with it but really balanced and quality is fine
Dlss4.5 made me realize just how good a tool it can be
Dlss5 made me realize how bad it can be for the industry

I wait for LTT's video on it

i found out that tras is meaningless on am5 last night from mac, weird stuff
it’s gonna be a long day
fheres no fucking way this is official nvidia media
it’s a really old pic
this is just my gf before makeup and after makeup
damn
bro just called his gf ai
would make sense
everyone is going to keep popping in here to post the newest dlss meme they just found (thats surely not been posted already)
next time she's doing makeup i'm gonna call it dlss
@pure garnet i can’t find any reliable information but some stuff says micron 16d die can do about 50k without a ram fan
so maybe i’ll just do 32767 and call it
it's a really old twitter post, im not sure if it was bait or an actual post, but I posted the original earlier
I made mine
goodnews for the citizens of lttcord, BIOOC has been banned
who
Who even is that
ban evading with alt, check #audio-tech
DMS and GoldenSound did some detective work and got him
The Apple Polishing Cloth is NOT compatible with the new AirPods Max 2
drama!
it was a dude who used to be more active in TC2, and would just spew nonsense and bad takes
fuck.
I tested it, airpods max 2 got dirtier, truly unfortunate
lol
I figured us old timers would get a kick out of it
ok this is the worst I've seen, and it's in an official video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t50AdVMuxZE
NVIDIA DLSS 5 is coming to Hogwarts Legacy. DLSS 5 infuses pixels with photorealistic lighting and materials, bridging the gap between rendering and reality.
DLSS 5 preview game footage captured in real-time at 4K Max Settings on GeForce RTX.

Ok yeah that’s pretty egregious
that was intresting to think about, so its all light, not changing the character geometry but lighting https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxSkjzTgPUcpTnCllCN93JKbpIOzmJZGH9?si=ipk9QgIZIHQr7Gfi
49 seconds · Clipped by Juan-2-3 · Original video "DLSS 5 IS INSANE- and this is going to incredibly controversial" by Daniel Owen
When reflex warp
How the hell are you changing jawlines and adding cheekbones without ai
shadows and lighting
yeah something is clearly off
and this isnt dlss 5
its someone saying it is but it isnt
did they even demo Indiana jones in the dlss 5 event?
so is every oled owner legally obligated to take a picture of it next to the crappiest lcd they can find
This was fake
nope they didnt
. . . . .
Yep, I forgot what they were all about and stuff, so... Lol.
Here's a whole cheekbone and mascara plus lip filler, don't know how light is doing that
they done yassified RE
Also, why leave it to nvidia to do the lighting, why not just make the game like that if thats your intent?
At best it looks like ai slop, at worst its just flat out getting rid of art direction
still looks good though
it does but like
Only if they oversaturate the oled too
what about this oled
have you ever owned a smurf spec ips display like that
straight to the recycling center
from a barn actually
no no, Im sending it straight to the recycling center
The ocarina of time Id play on that
I do like the perfect blacks tho
It's actually a pretty good one
digital adjustment
1024P
yeah im curious about this too
My first monitor was a 1024x768 CRT
also fun viewing angles

Hey I know that guy 🙂
Its because it definitely is changing some geometry in these samples
oh shit were you on the keynote today??
Do you get extra pay for being in the keynote?
That's awesome Mark!
🔥
Its possible it only works like that for some games, they did say you could turn off certain enhancements as a developer
🙂
he probs got another 5090
Im assuming with RE:R they didn't turn off the ai slopifier
Or Half-Life Uplink
Mark that looks like some sort of discord bot?
How much do you think I should realistically pay for a 2080 Ti
It would be peak
Under $200
200 USD maximum
No rtx games at launch
That's the exact price I am finding them at lol
only because the 1080Ti existed and RT wasn’t implemented in anything yet
I mean it was first gen RT
How about a 3060 Ti? Found one at $220
In my head it goes 1080ti, 3090, 3090ti, 4090, 5090
Though atp I might just go for a 4060 Ti 8GB at $270
I don't even think of the 20 series as having a flagship
If I had to upgrade my GPU I'd want a 2080ti
1080ti was matching the 2080 so the only real upgrade was a $1200 2080ti
but I don't need to upgrade so
I'd take a 3070 base before a 2080ti 🤷♂️
Wait what
Isn't the 2070S supposed to match the 1080 Ti
2070 super did now with updates and new game engines
for context the 2080Ti is BARELY faster than a 5060 in rasterization. The 5060 literally nukes it in efficiency and feature set.
Ye but I don't really need any RTX stuff, I just think a 2080ti would be cool to have
Also the 2070 super is basically a 2080 that wasn't up to snuff
By that logic I still think the 1080ti was cooler
absolutely
1080ti was literally like launching the Titan X at $649, the 2000 series was and imo is kinda pointless
The 2080Ti is an 11GB 3070
Launched at an msrp of $1000 btw
fire
I see both 1200 and 999 for the 2080ti msrp
💔
Im giving it benefit of the doubt and making it sound even cheaper
As in.. Same power?
I feel bad for anyone with the misfortune of buying a 20 series before the 30 series launched
Because I can get those for $248 (3070)
Same performance
I mean thats at least where my mind is with the 2000 series
It's just lame across the board
You send me a regular full auto ak47 I send you rtx 5090
What about an AKM
Deal
1080Ti > 2080Ti < 3070
I can get you an AKM-S with an aftermarket cut barrel
Lightly used, sub 200 rounds I'd say
Underfolder stock
Though front iron has the top ring broken
Just get it past US customs
Internal sight post is intact
Wet noodle kind of launch I mean, and what it offered was disappointing until it was pretty much irrelevant
I've personally been able to use it effectively
1 round downrange per second, 2 metre spread, 30 metre distance
Though you may be more interested in a Syrian AKMS
That has a full length barrel, but you'll need to tighten the stock screw
How do you have that but no rtx 5090
Would the feature set of 30 series be worth losing the extra 3GB, and paying $48 more
Because I don't own one
But they're cheap af
The feature set of the 30 series is quite literally the same as 20 series iirc
Also I can get a 3060 Ti for $220
Oh right
Both had DLSS CNN natively
Because of some 1980s bill we can't import new full auto firearms so the AKs we do have are over $50k
Also I am not American
Soviet arms aren't that expensive
Well I don't think any that I can find you something manufactured before the 1980 bill
If you'd like I can get something from Lebanese army reserve inventory
G3s or FALs
Those are guaranteed 1990s and earlier
Only thing you'd need to replace is the barrel, and PSA probably has those for cheap
They had to be in the US before 1986 😢
What I dislike about the 20 series is that it is effectively what happens when the GTX745 succeeds the GTX660
this is true
Newer, but same power?

Its absolute mid at best, yes its better but who in their right mind would look at the series and actually think "yeah I think an upgrade might be necessary", its just got absolutely no selling point in retrospect and the only reason its good now is because its just so cheap
I don’t follow sports but the fellas in the office are doing one so I’ll probably do one. Give me the sauce.
oh I just picked randomly, I only care about one team lol
@turbid locust
I'll settle for a 3060 Ti tbh
just pick like no upsets and you wont lose
The 3070 is outside my wattage, and I'd like to keep my system relatively low power
Nobody used Nvidia betwen 8800/9800 series & GTX 900 series.
Everybody used ATI 4870 - AMD 290X those years.
3070 draws like 4 watts
Isn't its recommended a 750W
Is lebanon power grid stable yet?
Oh wtf they're both 550W at a 220 TDP
Yeah fair enough but the point stands, why upgrade when you get practically nothing
Lebanon's power grid is stable, but corruption and xenophobia keep it unstable for "us"
I am still depending on solar systems
And now, since I am going to eventually buy a battery just for the PC, I'd like to keep the thing low wattage
Idfk bro
just pick the team that is ranked higher
fire
Anyway yeah, 3070 is just 20W more TDP lmfao
240W vs 220W
Still 8GB unfortunately, but that's okay
Wait.. Right, I am playing at 1440p (75Hz)
And that'll eventually be 1440p (165Hz)
Quite the dilemma
320W, $330
I mean the gtx1000 series had incredible prices (not the titans), the rtx2000 series has a tad more performance, raytracing and dlss (which looked quite bad at this time) and games hardly support either at that point, the rtx3000 series has actually reasonable performance, more games to use the 20 series stuff on at launch too, but scalpers went crazy here on, the rtx4000s had really good dlss, frame gen, and raytracing became very much viable for performance, and the rtx5000 series has even better dlss, frame gen, and even multi-frame gen
The 2000 series, particularly at launch, just has no sauce
Sold on a feature that no game used yet
type shi
Wait.. Hmm..
2080 Ti is 250W, only 10W more than the 3070
It was pretty much the stepping ground, or, well, the doorman
Its innovation wasn't explored upon yet
dont byuy the 2080ti
Textures won't load fully when it hits the limit
It would've been better if they gave devs cards and let them include RT & DLSS in their games
If I can praise the 20 series for anything, its that it opened the door for lighting you dont need the 20 series for
I'll be checking its production date for faulty SK_Hynix chips dw
i don't think that it's not loading per say
more so it's just using a lower mipmap version
yeah which you dont want
ofc
@frank cypress It's also relatively within wattage for my PSU
it has a clock display yoooo
They really should've considered upping the vram standard a bit earlier
real
3060: 8/12
3060 Ti: (8??)
3070: 8 (????)
3070 Ti: (??????)
DLSS is not real to this kid 😭
I mean the non-tis from 70 and below have been stuck at an 8gb standard since the 10s
20 series on launch was pretty bad but it was pretty much always going to be bad trying to introduce a new lighting standard
It got dlss too but I genuinely forget it does because it was that mid then
3070 ti is also 8gb
High end psu? Because older gen rtx cards had some mean transient power spikes
The 1070 increased VRAM
2070 stuck
.. So did the 3070
4070 finally increased
really just rtx 3k
Oh oops I forgot to write the 8
It's a 550W C tier
MSI MAG A550BN
Exactly, and now its just the 60s instead of the 70s
3060 had 12gb because 6gb wasn't great but 8gb was fine when the 3070 came out
Yeah not saying it wasn't
But the VRAM allocation doctrine was just.. Odd??
3060 Ti only had 8, 3070 Ti didn't get 10
Then the rtx 3070ti came with faster 8 gddr6x! When gamers wanted more vram
you can't just add random amounts of vram to the cards
VRAM capacity isn't picked on a whim. it depends on the bus width and available vram chip sizes
wow someone with sense
Osama
3060 has 12 because at the time that was the valid configs, 6 or 12 with that bus size the chip has
Oh right
Specific busses allowed only for specific amounts
the 3090 has 24gb in clamshell and then the 3080 has a cutdown bus to make it to 10gb
John Madden
John Madden
John Madden
And 12
We had the cool 3080 12gb and the lame og 3080 10gb
I mean we're at a point that getting the new card with less vram isn't worth it, like the AMD 9000s with 8gb are never even considered when the 16gb versions are there
the 3080 12gb was lame
you overpay on the used market and if you were gonna run out of 10 you were gonna run out of 12 too
Hey is was basically a discounted baby 3080ti
The 4000 series had an aura about it, don't know what it was
Like even nowadays I feel like the 40 series just has that sauce
Same the the chad 4070 super 3090ti performance without drawing 500w
Yeah like that's the aura about it I think
The 4070 up just had ridiculous performance to power ratioss
The aura stops at 4060ti and below though
Yeah those I kinda feel like they suffer from 2000 series syndrome
4060ti 16gb is aight
"Genuinely why did you buy that if you had a 2080-3070 already"
I feel most GTX owners bought those since rtx 20 was lame rtx 30 series had crypto bros buying all the stock
Thats what it is
The 40 series is genuinely the first since the end of GTX that people would actually care to buy
2080Ti so overhated 🥀
Its hated just enough
~40% performance improvement at the same power target
much better performance gain than 4090 -> 5090
turding hate justified
Yeah but lets talk about that price target
If we had rtx games when it launched it might be hated less
30 series was the biggest gen over gen gain that we've had in like 15 years but nobody actually bought them at intended price at launch due to covid and crypto
384bit!!!!
It competes with the titan xp at that launch price, not the 1080ti
Though the 320 bit was also good
it was only $999 xD
2080ti was a titan/90 class card imo just needed a different name
i forgot that in the 20 series the founders cards were actually more expensive
the cheapo aib models of 2080Ti were $999
the titan xp was $1,199
I see $1199 and $999 when googling the msrp
aib?
I think its fair
Oh
Top end sounding mid caps off the series imo
Whole series is mid, top tier of the series sounds mid, its fitting

2090, and the resulting new 2080 Ti would be NVidia's first 10GB :3
Or it'd be 8GB </3

2060/S, 2070/S, 2080/S/Ti/Ti S, 2090, RTX Titan
Hello
2090 just sounds wrong
It does
@wraith steeple The card is saying Hi, would be rude if I ignored it
Case
i wonder if i could do 3400mhz in peggle @shell void
They should make the 5660 already, GTX 1660 needs a successor
time to find out
8300G
You know what
I remembered the rtx series launch dates wrong for a reason
I thought the 40 series came out in 2022
I thought the 30 series was 2020 and I forgot when the 20 series was
But not available to us normies via normal stores
The 20 series was so god damn mid my memory literally tuned the thing's launch out and gave the 40 series two more years
Not to mention AMD should sell us Athlons. Last one for desktop was heccin Zen+
We need Zen 5 Athlons for 50$
begging amd to produce ewaste
Smh
Wait, wait a minute
Didn't enmui say that 20 series has transient spikes
Could I try to solve those with undervolting
Of course the 20 series would have em
@pure garnet dlss5 neural rendering is incredible
fr
🙏
Anyway to another topic to not bore you all out with my dumb tech questions
Do you actually think AMD should release standard R3s for AM5
@shell void
All the trust obtained from dlss 4.5, gone with dlss5
I think amd should avoid R3s maybe
nope, only if you're a headline only kinda person
Not mine necessarily
Its just people are not gonna be speaking good of dlss for a while
AMD should only release Ryzen 3 for Zen 6
Why
we just said earlier this was fake lol
Idk, fun
for what reason? if you need 1-2 core ewaste, there is always 8000 series
I love the slander, doesn't have to be true
my buddy who is notaweeaboo is such a good 4K shill
8300G is the perfect office PC CPU from AMD in AM5 tbh
yes, but there is a difference between satire/comedy and just blatant misrepresentation
Cheapest AM5, has an okay iGPU
True
1x Zen 4 + 3x 4C
are we certain that this fella isn't a weeabo
For profit, then release Ryzen 5 after a year, and maybe ryzen 7 the year after (now they release Zen 7 with Ryzen 3 again)
Do a Nvidia release schedule kinda with their Ti & Super cards coming later

damn near certain
mmmmk
They should look into 16k gaming
supersampling to 16K with DLSS isnt a bad idea
youd need a 5090 to have a healthy vram buffer though
3AM???
what is this for
ah
This is dlss5 in action
I just know these comments are going crazy
whats all this ai shi
the future man
i think this is the first time i've seen a Server Restarting message in a live service game
Headline is sounding pretty "PLEASE KEEP GIVING US MONEY WE WONT BE DESTROYING ARTISTIC INTENT WE SWEAR 😭 😭 😭"
sigh. sometimes Nvidia wants to give me PNG's
divison 2 is cool
damn you're playing Div2?
server restarting wtf
I do kinda wish Jensen would wear a shinier jacket after every RTX series launch
ya know, I think i saw this in anthem
imagine that was in Destiny lul
arc raiders
I mean kinda is with the weekly reset no?
oh, yeah I guess you're right
before major updates you get a splash screen when returning orbits
pringle get a role
What do you mean get a role, that can happen?
I've made another build list, something most of you have probably seen a bunch from me already
Tried to stay as grounded as possible
Used parts that shouldn't fluctuate in price too much (atleast the ones that I can't buy immediately)
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/6p9Z8Z
No need to give an opinion or anything, just sharing a little progress report
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5600, GeForce RTX 2080 Ti
Yeah
If you make a LTT forum account and link your discord you get green name lol
why give up our secrets
better yet, give LTT your money and you get the blue name
even if you don't support the current trajectory of the company
Forfeit all mortal possessions to Leenus
Why what's happening
As long as I watch a few videos they lose money with my $3 sub
Linus is uploading his consciousness to AI
WHAT
they have very much gone the profits over actual quality content route
yeah it's kinda nuts
@Grokus is this true
you pinged the US version, you gotta ping GrokLB for grok to work in Lebanon
Awful 💔
Well, atleast he doesn't suffer from Minecraft YouTuber syndrome
Oh no I didn't ping GrokUS
I pinged Linus' version of Grok
nah thats GrokTT
Oh
@GrokTT is this true
Ugh, eitherway
Is this actually happening? Why's Linus even uploading to AI??
have you not noticed the AI voices they occasionally use?
Pringle good
.. I am SORRY?????
They're using AI VOICES???
have been for a few years now lol
instead of just dubbing over mistakes, they use an AI voice of that person to dub over it
:<
like if someone says the wrong pricepoint in a take, and they don't wanna redo it, they dub over with the AI voice the correct price
sour cream and onion
That removes ALL the soul out of correcting something in post production
Having the person say the correct thing, in a different tone, over their normal speech, is what MADE IT HUMAN
it honestly shouldn't be that hard to just go "hey linus, can you say '50 dollars' into this mic real quick, gotta fix something"
yeah having the slightly offtone or sound made it kinda funny
The annoyed or rushed nature of post-prod audio dubbing is what made it FUNNY, HUMAN
exactly
Hell, even if they didn't even correct it, if they just plastered the real price in large font over the screen, that would've been better
But AI??
i honestly preferred when they used the like 2010's robotic voice
It's the worst solution you could think of!!
Yeah even that's better
randomly hearing "so the price is FIFTY dollars" is hilarious
Not as funny but, ironically, even THAT is more human
it either needs to be a genuine human voice, or the most robotic sounding voice in existence, no inbetween
we do not want AI human voices
I am pretty sure using the robotic voice is also easier
It almost definitely is
You can just go to a website, input the text, download and paste the audio, and it'll be done
they would have had to specifically train an AI model on quite a few samples of the host's voice for the AI dubbing
Like having linus say the AI script lines for 30 minutes or something
also have you seen DLSS5?
i'm not quite sure how to feel, but i'm leaning towards not liking it
I feel like they took it a bit too far
And with the tools they've already setup they can do the same with their ai voice
I have, yeah
Is the stable-diffusion-like feel going to be permanent? Or is it some sort of "AI Enhancement" option I can toggle?
not super fond on how much they’ve changed the source material
If it's included in normal DLSS upscaling, or FG/MFG, I am definitely keeping to 4.5 on my 2080 Ti
Honestly not sure, all i’ve seen is very AI enhanced feeling so far
if you aren’t able to disable the additional AI enhancements, i’ll be sticking with dlss4.5
Same here
The filter is just too much
And what if it just completely erases something off in the distance? Or adds something?
At close distances it has lots of reference points, sure
But what if a player silhouette is turned into foliage, or mush?
Also, they're allegedly using a full 5090 JUST for DLSS 5
I am sure it'll be optimised once it's sent to the consumer, but this is still a little worrying
this is a particularly egregious example, like it completely changes the feel of it
I am starting to think NVidia is getting too blinded by AI
the background goes from intentionally kind of dark and foggy, to well it and quite clear
it's a separetely controllable feature in the dlss 5 family that is mainly there to improve pathtraced lighting
so no you wont be forced to use it
Image loading, one second
it oiled them up
Yeah it definitely gives everything that AI/PT shininess
almost everything looks too shiny
Oh so we'll be able to get further-improved upscaling, DLDSR, and 6x dynamic MFG, WITHOUT a forced stable diffusion filter?
yes
I wish Dynamic MFG was available for the 40 series cards
genuinely the only thing that makes me want to upgrade to the 60 series when it comes out
Right side feels like a badly made live-action movie
I already have a 4080S, so i'm not upgrading to the 50 series
I likely will be buying a 6080 or 6090 though
IMO the best part of the framegen update coming on March 31st is that it's supposed to be more aware of UI and HUD to prevent those from getting garbled
I am not paying am extra $200 for a 5060, will just stick to Turing
if that includes crosshairs then a few of the most obvious artifacts will be fixed
Will probably be egregiously priced
That is amazing, that's been the biggest issue with DLSS4.5
Hopefully the former has 24GB of video memory
as far as i can tell from reading nvidia's article about it; you will be able to use framegen model 2.0 on 40 series, just not with 3-6x generation
So pretty much the same level of support as RN
you get all the features, but no MFG
You get 2x MFG
2x MFG meaning 2 Fake frames per 1 real frame?
🔊 All we want are updated presets working with RR 🔊
framegen 2.0 is hugely necessary but yes better ray reconstruction pls
RR is essentially DLSS for ray tracing specifically right?
Like it uses AI to accelerate Ray tracing
instead of just taking the ray traced frame, and running AI on that
not technically necessary, but it massively improves lighting and reflections
I think so
DLSS as a whole isn't technically necessary, but by god is it nice
the current downside is that ray reconstruction is tied to an older CNN antialiasing model so it gets obviously more blurry, smeary, and boily/warbly as you lower render resolution
even quality mode on a 4K monitor is obviously degraded in clarity
It's perfect for turning your graphics up, or run RT, or even run the game at higher resolution so it looks sharper on your own monitor
Ah so it's based in an antiquated model, so suffers the shortcomings of that model of ray tracing
Oh absolutely, i am one of the biggest supporters of DLSS
Yes. you're forced to a what, 2 year old DLSS model if you want to run RR?
I wasn't really sold on DLSS, then i tried DLSS4 on my 4080S, and fell in love
I used to be an avid hater of DLSS honestly
Thankfully I didn't voice my opinions much
Yeah, it seemed like a cheap way to get more frames at the time
RR?
but now, it's almost impossible to imagine not having it
this is every amd user ever
yeh it's from 2023
I hated it because people were using it to substitute optimisation
So nearing on 3 year old model
That's still true to some extent, but the beauty of DLSS4.5 is still amazing
plus that's not really NVIDIA's fault
They gave people another tool to increase performance, and people decided to use it as the only tool
Which I realised
And after that I realised it's just a great tool to bring new life to older cards
dlss4.5 doesnt impress me as much as the update to dlss4 did, but that's to be expected because gains will be smaller every gen
And to bring better performance to people who previously couldn't game well
I'm fully convinced NVIDIA pays special attention to cyberpunk2077 in their DLSS work, because man is it just amazing
Low resolution gamers were the loudest negative voices. Meanwhile, them trying to use it was the worst possible scenario. They also happened to be the biggest group of people. Lose lose all around, meanwhile those of us with high res screens have been benefitting from it for years.
Oh, 100% they do. Its almost their living tech demo
Soon i'll be upgrading to a 4k QD-OLED monitor, so i'll be living the 4k DLSS dream
pretty sure its a sponsored title. it would be dumb if it had shitty implements
im 93% sure it says nvidia when you launch the game
i've been running a 1440p IPS monitor for a long time now, and while pretty, QD-OLED is gonna take it to a whole other level
i just booted the game, it does
can i bet on that on kalshi
what
Even in its relatively trash 1.0 form, I remember booting up Cyberpunk on launch week and specifically uttering the words "this is magic". My 2080S was no longer struggling at 3440x1440.
From that point forward I was sold.
kalshi, the site where you can bet on literally everything
Meanwhile the 1080p gamers have been shittalking for 5 years
"is mcdonalds gonna mistakenly add pickles to my burger" is probably a bet on kalshi right now
but you can’t use the word gamble or bet because it’s “predicting”
oh lord huge upgrade
Ik, i'm so excited
I'll probably be adding it in with my other 2 monitors as well, instead of replacing anything
floppa are buildzoid’s videos considered highly reliable by the community
i’m thinking about trying to watch a lot of em
I'm pretty sure you're the one who recommended the specific monitor, Michael, the 650usd one
Gigabyte MO27U2-27
What counts as low res? 1080p seems like a benefitting resolution in my opinion
yeh that's a pretty good deal right now for $650 + resident evil code at newegg
Same deal on Amazon, and easier for me to get quickly
there is a reason why people reference him constantly
i personally don’t love using dlss at 1080p but it’s personal preference
The higher the res the more you gain, but I don't see 1080p being something that won't benefit greatly
hes the only informmative overclocker who actually has any sort of production value and thats barely true
Yes, usually 1080p already performs well enough
he yaps and yaps but the info is useful
i was watching his video on tras being worthless on am5
1080p is incredibly low to be using upscaling. Even on quality mode you're rendering at 720p.
interesting stuff
ya i like that he just shows you the data
if you dont believe what he says while hes testing it in front of you or go against it, its generally you whos in the wrong
Ultra quality would probably be the only way to get an okay image I'd say? Since it's 900p iirc
So 1080p gamers turn it on and are unhappy with the results. They don't understand why, only that it looks a little blurry.
Preset L makes upscaling a viable solution for 1080p gamers for the first time
because it actually looks okay with 720p render resolution
to be fair dlss q on old models was okay at 1080 but balanced was pretty bad
while their 3060 chokes and dies trying to do it 😆
who’s the guy who games at 4k on a 3060
jerry
jerry is built different
lol
it's very based
@low sorrel shame
Preset L?
i got my first 4K 144Hz monitor while i was still daily driving my GTX 1070 xD
it's one of the two new models in DLSS 4.5
Fair
bro I got a 1600p monitor daily driving an HD6970
I meannnn
Depending on the game, it'd be okaaaaaay
ive got one of those
I have an rx 580 driving a 768p tv and lemme tell ya
it’s quite the resolution lmao
I ran 900p on HD 4600 :3
granted i bought my 6900XT shortly after that because i was feeling the squeeze
this is the exact scenario people are in when they say the RX 580 4gb is a usable gpu
but 4K in older games was fine on the 1070
to be fair it IS an 8gb but yes at 1080p it’s not as usable
come to think of it, the 5760x1080 I was trying to run prior was even harder to run
iirc i had to run it at 4K 120 8bit though because pascal moment
it was the Aorus FV43U
Anyway I am excited to run 1440p with DLSS Quality
Could probably get okay performance in games like Stalker 2, BF6
nothing can get ok performance in stalker 2
i’m just taken aback by 4k60 monitors costing more than 1440 144 these days, I wish I could replace my youtube monitor with one
eh x3d does pretty well
Oh right
UE5
everything else doesn’t lol
i played the entirety of stalker 2 all the way through on a 5800x, so there’s that
talk to me
Wait, what quality does DLSS Q render at to achieve 1440p
That's 1080p iirc
quality on 1440p is 960p
i thought you said balanced for some reason
is this still relevant? I keep it handy for times like this
i don’t think it’s changed
960p for 1440p quality?
I assume ultra quality is 1080p?
i would assume higher
friends spark posted the chart
It doesn't have UQ, i don't think it was a thing back when that chart was made
very few games implemented dlss ultra quality, but it's the same 77% render scale as the fsr version in that chart
If it is I am downloading that image
Will stay with the Tom's Hardware hierarchy image I downloaded yesterday
Updated from the one I downloaded in 2025
will stay with them? What were you considering switching to?
isn't it more useful to just bookmark the page so you always have the updated ones?
No I mean
It'll stay in the same folder
i bookmark so much stuff. all in folders, all organized
i'd be lost on the internet without my bookmarks
I have 3 pages that stay opened on my chrome, never to be closed
Well technically four but that's a new unused page
Tom's has said they're going to re-test RTX3000/RX6000 with their new test bench for what feels like 2 years now. if they wait long enough, they'll no longer be relevant (arguably aren't now)
rate it 1-10. spent 5 days on this turned my Womier S-K80 into a standalone windows 10 pc. it’s not a stream or a mirror, the keyboard is the actual computer.
128x128 screen, custom frame-gen (around 0.33 FPS or 20 FPM), and it shows 6GB ram. it's a slideshow but it runs doom and chrome. mouse is Z + arrow keys and it has bluetooth. 💀
what is being rated
</3
Tested when RX 11090 XTX & 7090 go on the used market for the same price as 3090s are now (without the AI spike)
Yeah I was surprised to not see anything older than 40 series when I looked up the charts earlier
when they moved from 12900k to 9800x3D, they omitted all that old card data
which makes sense but.. its been ages at this point
now those cards are 5+ years old
They'd still be useful for budget builders, but tbh the only sub 40/7000 cards you should look at are 3080+
6000 series is losing support soon, and I doubt FSR 4.1 will be great on them
the entire AI bubble is just because Jensen wants to turn himself into the peak Waifu
He wants to blind the world with his shiny jackets
@brisk jolt XG32UCWMG got its first price drop in the USA
this could be devastating for my wallet
What free mouse?
asus rog harpe mini core wired gaming mouse - wired usb, small compact design
Oh
i would try the mouse and pad out of curiosity
the mouse seems like it would be fine, very generic shape and it's 52g
Oh there's something I didn't think of
If I sell my 5700 XT, I can get an okay C tier 750W for $70 :3 - Then I can run the 2080 Ti without any fears!!!
Light, generic (but proven) shape
At worst you can sell them together
At best they'll go to a secondary system
But would you try the 1080p 480hz mode with the jaw dropping 70ppi
hell yeah i would try it
Is 70 ppi good or bad
Bad
im curious about how it would look when combined with DLDSR to render at >1080p
Need this at like 38 inches
💔
Oh jesus 32in 1080p Mode lmfao
Yeah
What's considered the minimum for okay ppi
27" 1440p is 109
Wait is it possible to calculate ppi just with math / monitor dimensions
Oh
this page will even show you the math https://www.calculatorsoup.com/calculators/technology/ppi-calculator.php
and let you compare two displays
if you know your pythagorean theorem... you can do it manually
ain't nobody got time for that
Unfortunately don't have monitor height, only length & aspect ratio
Oh well, I can wait
i mean all you need is the resolution and size for the site..
I may have misread
Sorry
I am running on LP Cores, it's 3:40 AM
Even more reasons for me to buy it tbh
IF they accept my T470s for trade-in
(Not planning it, just an idea)
WHAT
i mean for good reason
when searching for a decent soldering iron, what should i be looking for
i don't know anymore. way back when I was into soldering I was recommended a Hakko FX888D
I hate that this is technically my nicest display lmao
just a bit more than i was looking to spend, is it worth it?
apparently its old technology now https://www.reddit.com/r/soldering/comments/1lusf0e/the_hakko_fx888d_and_the_weller_we1010_and_every/
everybody seems to be into those portable Type C powered ones these days
great for microsoldering, but the lack of pure power output has been an issue for me
they also don't have a lot of thermal mass, so they cool down quickly when you try and use it on a multilayer PCB
i have a fantikk one, and was hoping for a different soldering iron with more heat output
I did love the lightweight wand and really flexible silicone wire. Also never seemed to be out of power for big heavy connectors I was soldering at the time (RC)
Hey it's better then the people who run 5090s on 1080p 60hz displays
https://www.amazon.com/Weller-Digital-Soldering-Station-Precision/dp/B09XZBWJ5H?s=hi&th=1
This was one i was looking at, any idea if it's a good iron?
Same brand as was recommended in the article you linked, but about half the price
If it's worth the extra money, i'm willing to invest in that WE1010, but not sure if it's really that much better
Weller is another common name for quality units
but I really can't speak to that individual one, or really any. I just know I like my Hakko and it'll probably last forever. I only used it once recently and before that it had been years
so I guess i'm not really a good source
Upon reading some reviews, it's seems to be a pretty cheap unit
i know floppa just got into soldering, or maybe just hot air
you'll have to ask him when he's around
Will do, thank you
why are headlights so bright now
they cheat the test that limits how bright they can be
because brighter lights is a feature for the person buying the car
and few people have the foresight to realize they may also be on the receiving end of those bright ass lights
they enabled HDR
8786 I SE
the 2in1 thing from YIHUA?
i just learned something
I'm brilliant
I accidentally deleted the downloads folder when I was using Wiz tree
Instead of the files in the downloads folder
I was using the ASUS PBO menu in AI tweaker that started giving me avx512 instability that the other PBO menu in the advanced tab doesn’t give, because apparently the two PBO menus don’t operate the same way? Why is AMD like this @pure garnet
@edgy laurel spicy wind/rain like 10-15 mins ago
snail you ever heard anything like the above message
i’ve never heard anyone mention it before
ngl i've never heard of this
i think that just hit me. lights were flickering
on my B550 Strix board, the PBO options in AI Tweaker menu didn't do anything at all
everthing had to be done in the Advanecd > AMD Overclocking menu
they were certainly doing something but the passmark physics test that uses av512 was throwing super odd bsods
switch to the other tab, immediately fixed
yeah we lost power for like 4 mins but generator fired up
subtle generator flex
A few storms ago I had a false start, which is annoying AF - shakes your confidence
This is so nice
wep thing whatever
i have that and a ts101 i got a while ago but im giving that to a homie
a very humorously tall m.2 heatsink
silly
to be honest, i do think the concept itself is not bad or anything
give the ssd a 420mm aio as well
like, it would be really good if it could emulate material responses that you'd normally only be able to achieve in an offline rendering environment very cheaply without destroying the feel of the original thing, but that doesn't seem to be the case
i've seen some decent examples of DLSS 5.0, and it does look higher fidelity in some cases
I'm surprised you don't have a powerwall
guess i gotta be happy with this because i can’t get it to go any higher no matter what i do lmao
Reddit is acting like digital foundry just shot the Pope on live TV
Does nothing for me
it gets hot in there
@shell void really really annoying thing on X870E Glacial that I might have forgotten about from other boards...
can't do pbo +200?
what is the post code displaying? gpu temp?
Reading this definitely put things in perspective. Then again we all know Ryan Shrout is full on AI bro these days. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/s/sbVyyood8Q
I Just Saw DLSS 5 Running Across Multiple Games. It's Not a Face Filter. NVIDIA just dropped DLSS 5 at GTC 2026, and the internet already has opinions. I was in the room and I went hands-on. Not watching a sizzle reel, not scrubbing through a carefully curated 30-second trailer, but sitting in front of multiple games with DLSS 5 toggling on and ...
I guess we’ll see how this shakes out in future, better, showcases
That 30 second demo wheel was a terrible demonstration
mental health is bullshit.
The annoying part is that the DIMM.2 has a red LED to show you the fucking thing is working... not errored.. but normal
Ok just curious here, so when you say pbo +200 for the 9800x3d, assuming the default, non pbo boost is 5.2ghz, do you mean they could raise the limit to 5.4ghz?
Ok so their raised limit is 200 above their norm then
doesn’t do anything it pulls boost with no apparent limitation
That just confirms I was correct on my stuff
7600x base boost clock is 5.3ghz, but here's what that is defaulted to with pbo enabled
So going into boost clock override settings, I shouldn't tune that above +50, because +50 is actually 200mhz above what the standard pbo boost is
Right now, I have boost clock override set to -125, reducing the pbo max to 25mhz above the base clock
Just set like that to ensure stability
5450-125 = 3225, still +25 over the base boost clock
Yes I am changing my pbo scalar to manual 1 by the way
tpu has 5450 at stock pbo
Well yeah thats stock pbo
so i think you’re actually just running it slower for no reason
because pbo no offset no co is just default behavior, not much to worry about
Not necessarily for no reason, I'm starting low for the sole purpose of finding out whether its my CO or silicon's boost capability
-15 all core should be stable with what I've tested, I'm in bios to move my boost clock up right now
turdbin turdbin
you can’t validate a co at frequency you’re not targeting
lol
i run -15 at 5.4 but that doesn’t mean i couldn’t run less voltage at 5.2
True that, I'm just changing one variable at a time until stuff works
If Co -15 at 5450 doesn't work I know i should bring that to -10 and so on
if you wanna just mess with co just keep it at 0 and then go from there
testing pbo -125 is just a time waster perf wise
I switched to that during the conversation tbh
Never trust how you feel about your life after 10pm
idk man those 3am realizations sometimes work out
So yeah I'm running 5450mhz, gonna tune my CO down unless its stable
are you still just hitting it with r23
:nod
or did you move to corecycler/aida/something else
(yes)
so far youve only hit it with r23
I mean if a game would get it to crash even at that low a limit why bother with OCCT at that point
Since Im testing at stock with an undervolt its much more reasonable to run OCCT
all core loads aren’t really useful with co
because the voltage/clocks won’t be as high anyway
True that
Yeah Im planning to do that tomorrow since I don't gotta leave home or anything during that time
i just forget im real for like 36 hours
Is a good option, just in not great weather conditions right now and my ups can only last so long
i got significantly better average offset with individuals by just staggering them
based on CPPC
per core is just more time than i feel like investing
only took a total of like 20 mins for a rough estimate, spent 4 hours diagnosing why i’m not boosting well during r23
still don’t really get why but whatever
Oh so chat where do I choose my data set on occt
Like they say to go with large in the overclocking guide but im missing where that option is
are you on the bench or stress test tab

If any of you know who Vanoss is… this shit is amazing
@steel stream
how this message makes me feel

I have not heard that name in a LONG time
Got it all figured out, OCCT running
I honestly would have expected my temps to go a lot higher than they are, not complaining
There it is, now we're touching 80s
Im guessing occt gradually makes it try harder so as to not explode the thing?
That or some of my cores are less thermally resistive maybe
7600x
Found the errors, some of my cores cant even take -15
Which I mean, not like I didnt expect some to be thirstier
same with my 9800 but doing individuals isn’t all that time consuming
usually too low of an offset crashes very quickly
Yeah, I didnt get a crash luckily but it very quickly spiked from 0 errors to like 512 and spiking as soon as it went to core 4 or something
co offset isn’t mv btw just as a heads up
Core 4 is not happy with -15
Wait it isn't, what the hell have i been looking at
yeah core offset is just a number rhat corresponds to some sexret algorithm in the boost curve
it doesn’t actually mean anything
Secrets can be annoying
But yeah I do not think my weaker cores are too appreciative of that level of curve
I have my weakest core at 9 and my strongest at 30 atm
hmm
i could do more but my temps are fine and i don’t care enough
That's the end goal I suppose
insane variance won’t lie
I did notice that core 0 ran much cooler than core 1, is that my fault somehow?
weakest core can do like 11 i just figured id give it a little wiggle room
Id guess its either to do with physical position or just flat out not having as much thermal resistance
i think this is probably fine and just has to do with voltage characteristics and chiplet placement
Probably the case, im not all to worried about it unless I could potentially optimize it
That's the point of corecycler and co though
i think some people buy contact frames for that but i doubt it matters much
The individual chiplet has gotta downclock if it really reaches a thermal limit anyways id imagine
well i would respond to that but i apparently don’t know how it works because my cores won’t boost higher than a magical invisible wall with current, voltage, power, and temperature headroom and no bios limits
so who even knows
Pbo works in mysterious ways ig
Core 0 might be among the strongest, it runs significantly cooler than my others
i suspect it is the way the agesa pbo version handles current because offset increases increase my frequency and I’m not clock stretching
but ASUS pbo menu was allowing the chip to pull 7 more watts it was just unstable and I had to stop using it
tldr im exhausted from this stupid platform and am just gonna tune memory
you can see the ranking in hwinfo64
You can? What's the sensor called, or where is it?
Im gonna run a corecycler anyways but thats good info
it’s in the cpu dropdown menu and it lists each core in order of CPPC rank
@turbid locust valorant
on the actual hwinfo page not the sensors
Oh I've probably even seen it then
It’s 1am and I have shit to do in the morning
it’s on the page that lists your current tdc and edc and stuff
Well have you tried moving to the west coast?
Core 0 runs cooler, Core 1 runs hotter, neither see errors at CO -10
No thanks
Oh sick, I'll see if I can check that some time
Core 0 and 1 can handle -15, probably at least -20
technically the scores correspond to how well each core boosts with voltage but it tends to correspond to undervolt performance
not an all encompassing rule
Core 1 is gonna want it too, hitting 85 degrees on occt even
I'll keep that in mind, corecycler will probably say more its good info regardless
pretty sure 7000 is rated to sit at 95 indefinitely so you’re probably fine
Oh absolutely, they just boost less past the limits with each degree they climb past a certain point if I have understood correctly
yes that is something i appear to be experiencing
7000 series get a lot of their performance just by being cooled enough
Their boost behavior is largely just slamming the gas until 95 is reached
before the 9800 would boost to 5225 on cinebench and just say fuck it we ball and that no longer happens on new agesa versions for me, appears to be a safety mechanism because chips were blowing up or something
i start pulling frequency as low as 90c
Core 2 is cocked up I think
Doesn't boost with temps, think its just not getting the voltage it needs to do it
generational wealth
bros got that ddr1-400 on deck
So yeah core 2 is the one that's gonna be cooked with CO
At least it seems like itll run cooler though
2329 errors from core 2 alone at just -10
Core 3 takes it like a champ, its the coolest core of all without errors
Maintaining a 5250+ effective boost too, gotta be my strongest then
Core 4 is no better than Core 1 in terms of heat, but its boosting
Of course its running hotter so its boosting a bit less, still though
Ryzen Master will tell you what your best and second best core is
I'll look into it, mostly just staring at the amount of errors and whether the cpu is boosting like it should for now
I wouldn’t do any adjustments or tuning in RM but it’s useful for seeing limits and whatnot.
Only Core 2 has errors, and its not thermal or tdc edc ppt, so I think its just not getting the voltage to boost more
Your best core will have a gold star next to it and your second best will be a silver dot
iirc
Gonna pit all my cpu cores against each other, last one standing goes into my franken-7600x
So far its looking to be core 0 and 3
Core 0 hit the highest mhz, but Core 3 runs almost 10 degrees cooler and just boosts 20mhz less
Core 5 is definitely the hottest, only one that actually reaches 89, but no errors
Im betting that means Cores 0, 1, 3, 4, and 5 are stable at 10+, and Core 2 just needs a tad more voltage
did you download SMU debug tool
I haven't, plan was to play with bios but I can see how smu will be useful for this now
Instead of pausing the whole test I can just reduce the CO on Core 2 and see if the stable clock speed goes up
Yeah it lets you do it in real time, much faster way to find your per core CO values
like you can literally change it while the test is running to see if it errors
Yeah, so theoretically I could literally just find my per core CO by trial and erroring that (as long as its not too crazy)
Just test in increments of 5 and you’ll be fine
I think core 2 will work at -7 or something, core 0 and 3 will probably work at -20
