anyway, my point was MB Neo doesn't replace iPads for people who want/use/like iPads. MacOS is a whole different animal
i mean i have to have a phone though i donât have to have an ipad
also when apple denies my gfs like gen 2 ipad pro because it has backlight bleed that is a result of THEIR shitty design it makes me sour about ipads
but thatâs just a crotchety old man take
either you want a "computer" or you want a tablet. My mom hasn't used a "computer" in 20 years, but lives on her iPads
i genuinely feel like this is a negative thing for a lot of seniors
weâre enabling a lack of attempting to understand technology and dumbifying everything
(not targeted at your mom just in a general sense)
I disagree completely. There is nothing she needs or wants from a traditional computer, there is zero benefit to her owning one.
lack of cognitive engagement is a direct contributor to neurodegenerative diseases and i oppose any contribution to that
Forcing seniors to use caveman style traditional computers is not a benefit to anyone.
Ok I think you might be heavily overthinking this.
Fair enough. I guess all I can do for now is wait and see what comes next in the next 5 years.
MacBooks getting a touchscreen I can see being a total no-go, but I think macOS being touch-capable for iPads isn't too sacrilegious knowing iPadOS has been copping Mac features for the past five years.
iâm not, this is my field of study lol
i know the data
my mom uses a laptop with literally everything only chrome installed
as does my grandmother, if they used a tablet nothing would change
the average person isnât really interacting with the computer like itâs the 80s anymore and you needed to know basic
or the other question: which is harder? Giving iPadOS more desktop-ready features or getting macOS touch-ready?
At least if we start from the year iPadOS got more desktop-like features
Either way
Sparks!
I'll come back to laughing at Windows for pratfalling their ARM transition
for clustering, I assume?
Or wait no right those are for individual users
im so happy for you
What do you all think my chances are of finding someone willing to trade my non rgb ram for rgb ram in the same specs lmao
not really worth their time
they can just turn the RGB off if they don't want it. i'm not going out of my way and incur downtime just to swap with someone
sell it, buy what you want
It was more sarcasm, I wouldnât even attempt
I will laugh if they trade you dummy dimms
is it a 2x24 8000 kit
Its a 1x8gb ddr5 kit (sarcasm)
I should buy a Quest 3S or something and commission an avatar ver of my fursona
What would happen if one âfell of the truck â
i should put it in my gigabyte am3+ board that has like 3 vcore phases, and blow up the board on purpose
Damn can I have one?
too late to the party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8zTzpYjQ2MM
i would say it shorted out and then the fire is result of the short. I see actual fire from a shorted computer part
also these boards didn't had any kind of protection at all, also at the time of video there was no TDP limit menioned on product page, that is why the website from which this video was taken did the test
can't believe apple is the least shitty company right now
that makes no sense
They just have a long term ram contract , and their ram/SSD prices where already way more then consumer options before ai
they also purchase significantly more volume than other companies
yeah i mean figure everything they make uses ram
Not the $999 monitor stand xD
Robotic $3999 monitor stand

reconsidering linux challenge
I kinda dont want to nerf my computer for a month
I've watched a few. I dunno if I need that goofball's opinion đ¤Ł
see thats kinda the whole point though. when in need, can you figure out how to "make it work"
Or I could just keep windows
I mean yeah, thats what we're all doing lol
honestly you have like 3 computers worth of parts, just toss one together and try it on that
hey now what's with the riley slander?
doesnt feel like a real challenge then
thereâs not really much of a challenge to it anyway
you install steam and proton works 95% of the time
the other 5% you apply manual fixes or the game just flat out doesnât run
but that takes brain
Linux sucks
i read about something few minutes ago and found out i was loading models incorrectly, actually surprised how much better can the LLM run on single 16GB card (4080 Super), if the model is MOE model. I mean it's not great, but 'for free' i could let that dual 1080 Ti system work in background when i want something done. Will be interesting to test it next week (due the case order the delivery will be tomorrow)
Yeah don't do that
the challenge for mac is not being allowed to play valorant for a month
i havent played valorant in about 2 months and my mental health is better off
I was half using it to force me to play some other games lol
If only ltt has a apple dedicated channel
sad days, mac address had higher quality and was more engaging to me
lol that was me with cachyos on that spare system. Trying to make it work with some of my games
That I gave up on since the hassle wasnât worth it with my limited free time
exactly
Anyways went under my parents car yesterday to take pictures for insurance, goddamn the thieves were clean cutting the catalytic converter
straight pipe time
1zz-fe definitely got a interesting sound straight piped looking at some videos
why not just start the car for funsies
are you not just using lms and hitting âload modelâ lol
i was playing with GPU Offload (no need, it will only load as much as needed onto GPU) and more importantly there is a "Number of layers for which to force MoE weights onto CPU" -- i had to play around with that, but with i think 24 or so it runs at ~22t/s with total memory requirements of ~30GB. Which is a nice speed considering i only got 16GB VRAM GPU.
Glacial box is heavy AF wtf did they put in here
you bought the glacial?
Ya
greatness
it's so stacked
there needs to be a waterblock that uses that connection
there are
think just 2?
each e is 2 together though
oh yeah I know about that AIO, i mean a standalone
how is it any different than any other X870E though?
i thought it had dual x870e
i was misinformed from the review i read a month ago
itâs 2 x870 chipsets but the written comment was x870e
so i assumed it had 4 total chipsets
ah. yeah I mean X670, X670E and X870E all have just two chips
this link needs to not be 4.0 in the future
there should be some boards that have no chipset at all, and only 2 dimm slots for people that want something cheap
hey if itâs good enough for the memory
a lot of people dont even need one promontory
what is the bandwidth of Z890's DMI interface these days
iirc it's 4.0x8
Z990 (nova lake) keeps the same bandwidth by doing 5.0x4 dmi
yeah do we even need a chipset on budget boards
i wonder if X970E boards will still be using Promontory 21
i think a lot of people would be down to save like $50 on a basic board with no chipset
apparently its the borderline useless monitoring chip this board has
unless they change the bandwidth from the CPU, I can't see why theyd change
that just vomits out voltages nobody cares about
zen 6 cpus have a new IOD so that it possible
presumably Prom21 speaks over 4.0x4 so I imagine they'd design a new one if that changed
iâm pretty sure the only difference between my b850 mlg and my x870 tomahawk is the usb 4 ports and a couple extra usb a
the chipsets are all just artificial fr
Is the b850 pcie gen 5?
Gen5 has been a feature of every AM5 based chipset
because of course, they're all the same chip lmao
well, I suppose the Prom21 chip doesn't touch anything Gen5
yeah
instead of 2 basically useless usb c ports i just got 2 cpu nvmes
X870e Glacial is a good value
depends on how you're asking. if you mean the B850 as in B850 boards, yes. But the chipset itself on any board doesn't actually speak Gen5 at all.
whereâs the pics bro?
It's in my trunk still

@shell void for those who dare duh
Whatâs that
XD

that's gotta be the nicest feeling board that youve handled so far
i honestly wanna know how that does with mem since it has nitropath
Just like my X870e hero
the glacial deserves 4x48GB
glacial same pcb layers as hero?
tech sheets say 8600/8200 9000 chips and 9200/8600 for apus
i think hero, extreme, and glacial are all 8 layer

Big ass VRM
whatâs going in this board
Lame 9850X3D
Idk man, mounting the PSU like this kinda slaps, no?
I'm not buying ram until it makes sense
I'd go 9950X3D but I have this 9850X3D
switcheroo
steal a 9950x3d from one of your other pcs and put the 9850x3d in its place
Maybe I'll buy a 3rd
i only have a 9800x3d because it came out first
if the 9950x3d was available at the same time then i wouldnt have bothered with single ccd cope
Hello guys, i need to buy a mini pc for light office work like about 400 rows of MS excel and some simple word processing in MS word, and the only option available near me in a Blackview MP60, which has a Intel Celeron N5095 cpu in it. Is this a viable option for me? I just need to get those works done!
@shell void wtf is this header
Seems "acceptable" for light office use, but you get what you pay for.
https://www.facebook.com/groups/homeserversetups/posts/3149468958687927/
See posts, photos and more on Facebook.
I just got a 7700x for 250 CAD
Whatâs the budget?
Because I bet you that thing is overpriced
I like this mini pc
about 300-ish, but i am from fiji and there isnt much options available, this brand "blackview" seems to be in many stores
where is the pc, I only see a mac
Mac Mini is just a PC, after all.

some kind of argb thing perhaps?

guys, I have a question
can I mix these ram and use it at the same time for 32 (8x4) ?
same gen, frequency, and latency
yes it will 99% be fine
overclocking is where you would have weird behavior
i have no idea
The neo seems pretty nice, wonder if Linux can be installed onto one with relative ease
thanks for your answer
no it canât
Oh
i skimmed the manual in simplified chinese and i didnt see any mention of it
No chance Linux is going on it
unlabeled/documented headers are usually for factory debugging
i elaborate a bit the m1 macâs still arenât feature complete in linux
What?!? That doesn't make any sense. Why would a manufacturer release a product with known bugs in it? And why should the end user have to remove those bugs? Seems like a scam if you ask me... /s
Alright
bios flashing header and select
but since bios chips are right there it is maybe a programing header
aside from my dac being weird with reconnecting once my pc has slept everytime for about 8 hours a sleep @shell void
might be this?
always a problem
never free
holding the button on the dac and hitting the button again fixed it
so i think that's actually just topping's fault
wait nvm those are leds
oh nice SPI
Dude... I don't think it should be $1200, but I see why it is today
the magnetic ram fan seems sick
the ram fan is kinda mid
same/similar as Apexes
My Micro Center only received one of these boards đ
you bought the only one? xD
mine got 2
guess i'll have to make the trip
why does tpu not give us high res motherboard shots like they do gpus
yup
I dunno if its limited release or they just figure only morons will buy a $1200 mobo
they probably knew you were 1 of 10 interested parties
2 in stock boston
not pathtracing.. raytracing, but with no ray reconstruction, and youre using dlss4.5 performance
UP, but otherwise yes
Yeah seems like at most there are 2 here and there

really not a fan of reflections in RT mode, at least in some cases
but it'll drop me back to Preset D
this is true but it's not as soft looking without having to denoise pathtraced global illumination
especially if you only enable rt reflections and shadows, but not rt lighting
still need to play PL
Nvidiaaaaa! give us updated DLL's!
I worked with a guy who called them "DILLs"
like he'd say "Alright, whatcha got here is unsupported/outdated DILLs"
Drove me nuts
XD
I hate it
He also called URLs "earls"
oh god
The prob is that he was like crazy smart with Windows systems
uhm, where are the pcie slots?
woah spark i just encountered a new bug for the first time
Missing
i was hopping around and my Male V character played a Female V grunt noise
ive never had that happen before
whens crimson desert
people are upset because it has denovo whatever DRM shit
looks better than with all that crap bolted on

i loved the creative liberties that they took with his character
omg @shell void i can't take the plants and the ground flickering
I'm waiting for the first week of April. A bunch of new anime drops
Guys, forget the new mobo. This is a game change.
yeah it's really bad xd
you either have to just disable tracing entirely, or use it with reconstruction
sigh. alright, back to tinkering
Pepe-poopoo bot
its so awesome
as long as it has proper failsafes so it is safe for cat
i saw something horrific multiple times involving those kinds of litter bots
its got a laser curtain
good
man, the reflections are ace now but everythign is just ever so slightly blurry on account of the regression in the upscaling model
If it runs its cleaning cycle and you put your hand in the opening it stops
it stinks that we have to choose between lighting or clarity
soon
@edgy laurel on the plus side this issue should be sorted out by the time that The Witcher 4 and GTA 6 launch
I found out the hard way that my asrock bios has a BCO of +150 already set once PBO is turned on, and that the BCO setting adds to that, instead of overriding it

My cpu was unstable because it was allowed to run at 5650mhz, not 5500
A subtraction less than 150 is actually still treated as a BCO addition past the base boost clock, and I feel stupid figuring that out now
Like I even saw through hwinfo cores were boosting much higher than 5500
<@&750150305383186585>
who falls for this kind of crap
jorj
becouse someone has to for them to spam it so hard

wowza the RT performance gains with M5 series are massive
im hype for the M6 (tsmc n2) macbook redesign with tandem oled displays
@merry stirrup <insert case pickup joke here> but do you want me to save the riser for you to throw in a random thing you buy
oh the riser would be awesome
thank you
kk i'll grab it before i throw away the y40
it might work fine i never had issues with the ocf but swapping the case + displayport cable has given me 0 issues so far
Marques couldn't spring for the $1000 stand for at least one person. Tsk tsk. /s
i see at least 11 pro display xdrs
yeah i'm watching his desk tour from today. apparently the whole studio uses them
i wonder if he'll sell them all and replace them with studio display xdrs
if he times it right then he could get some money back and have his team on better monitors
one of those is a Kuycon 32P
iâd just use it for shitter he
actually 10 and one studio display
7 and 8 might be studio displays too, they look a bit small
forgor one
so maybe 8 pro display xdrs? smh cheaping out marques
person in the front was like na, i need 32:9
it's probably elite for video editing
too bad youre stuck at 1440p at 32:9 unless you buy that dual 4K scamsung VA monitor that's like 9 million dollars
still cheaper than the PD XDR...
tru it's $2100 at bestbuy right now
sold by a shady third party though
$2300 from scamsung direct
shame they never made an oled version of this
28MQ780-B
funnier display
(2560 x 2880)
real
Peak second monitor
yeah that would be an awesome format for a secondary discord and browsing monitor
are microcenter bundles the most logical upgrade path to am5 rn?
theyre pretty good
meanwhile scamsung
i have a friend who wants to upgrade and make an itx build, figured he could probably just get a bundle and sell the mobo for wtv he can get
lmao
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/3f9PsK
how much could i sell a pc like this for
Part List - AMD Ryzen 9 5900X, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, PC Cooler K101 MESH Mini ITX Desktop
go on ebay, find a similar listing or listings
is building mini itx dumb if i want small form factor
how else do you expect to get proper sff?
well i should probably rephrase that
i do want small factor but im wondering if the jump from mini itx to micro-atx is worth the extra size considering the price and storage capacity
micro atx is significantly cheaper and easier
if you have these questions now, you don't want to dive into ITX
depends on if you want to pay the mini itx tax
small matx cases have grown in popularity in the last couple of years
i know the a3 is super popular
idk how good it is tho
there are very few circumstances where you actually need a tiny ITX PC, it's mostly for fun, mATX is cheaper and equally as practical
what you do want is a compact mATX case like the A3-mATX. save money and your sanity unless you're truly "into" small SFF
yeah u guys are probably right
out of curiosity do most tiny itx mobos only support 1 m.2
i mean ones that are fairly priced
alr i was just curious but i think matx is probably easiest for me
can set the minimum number of M.2 slots and search
and most logical
although tiny itx builds do look cool they seem like a pain to build in
not really if you've studied other builds in the same chassis, bought compatible parts and know how to use your hands
also is air still fine if i want to keep it quiet? or should i force water?
Can confirm. Can confirm. But this mostly boils down to - yeah, what @edgy laurel said. Buying the right parts.
air is quieter because there's no pump noise factor
if youre going AM5 then i recommend the MSI B850 MPOWER
cool
it's typically $230 and it has any feature youd want, plus it's only 1 dimm slot per memory channel which will let you run higher memory speeds on future zen 6 cpus
honestly i was thinking abt the 9800x3d bundle but i dont even think i need that
i bought a m-atx setup a while ago but had to return it cause of a moving situation
this was before the ram prices spiked up it's a shame
itâs usually any order of operations issue
In big fish tank cases you can get away with doing stuff in a lot of different orders, in ITX cases thereâs usually one way to easily do it
Look at how itâs usually done, and copy it as 1:1 as possible
that makes sense
source:
thats so cool bro
i was thinking abt the 7800x3d but for an extra 80 bucks why not just get the 9800x3d surely
PCPP's "completed builds" feature is invaulable as a beginner if you're unsure what fits and how to put it all together. Select the case, scroll down, click "see completed builds using this case".
if you can safely afford it then yeah get the 9800X3D
this makes me want to build in an m-itx case so bad
if youre strapped for cash then i think they have a 7500X3D + 16GB ram bundle for much less
the 9800x3d is fine i work and dont spend much
T1 so nice

honestly ill probably look into mitx and matx and see what's worth more to my heart and wallet
yeah i know it's a shame
i saw the fractal design terra at my microcenter
looked pretty cool
is the a3 the most compact m atx u can get?
naw there are some niche cases that are most space efficient
the A3 is just nice because it's very affordable and readily available
could u link some if u dont mind
don't even need to go that small. Lot more breathing room in things like the NCASE M3
ive seen this one before
are all of the niche ones roughly this price ?
$245 though
if you buy from small, boutique brands, often yes
yeah that make sense
i feel like the a3 still looked pretty big in person
but maybe thats cause i was looking at it pretty much on eye level
a3 has lots of fans around here
correct me if im wrong
is the wooden version the only one that has airflow in the front?
iirc, yes. but you have to remember it isn't a fullsize tower
it does have a relatively large footprint
its airflow pattern doesn't work that way
yeah it looked pretty big which is what turnt me toward m-itx
realistically i just want osmething that isnt annoying to have in a dorm and to move around in a car every once in a while
i dont have vast knowledge of the current mitx market
like those are my primary needs
im a full size guy
lmao sfx psu's are so tiny in the A3
how much is a decent mitx board worth right now?
do you know how to use PCPP?
let me go look
if you've never used it before, i'd suggest getting comfortable quickly
well i kinda ask that cause idrk what to look for in terms of what makes a mobo good or not
besides the io
not being bottom of the barrel budget.. then just having the ports and slots you want
the cheapest one with good reviews and ratings
my needs are pretty low
im just gonna try to calculate a rough estimate as to how much a mitx would cost me
why?
just use pcpp bruh
curiosity
we have tools that do this for you
yeah i meant with pcpp
you select your filters and it just presents you with your options
can start with AM5, mATX and B850 https://pcpartpicker.com/products/motherboard/#s=41&f=7&c=169&sort=price&page=1
Choose A Motherboard
if you want a minimum number of M.2 slots, just use the filters. same with any other requirement
does anyone have the psu tierlist sheet
thank u
roughly how much wattage should i go for with a 9800x3d and a 3080
thats what i was looking at
PSU last over 10 years just get a 850w+ and be good for a decade
given how common they are, no real sense in buying anything less than 850W at this point. so many solid options. 750W is money is a problem
based off the sheet
@edgy laurel
if i were to build in a fractal design terra it would cost me ~1300 usd
we were just looking at a glacial build with standard color noctuas this morning lmao
its certainly a choice haha
this is cpu mobo ram case psu
Do you have a link
and come with some additional expertise needed to cool the CPU. @topaz veldt has experience with that case
im going to do the same for m atx and see the difference
difference is huge
oh nevermind, wasn't a glacial. just that EATX example i found
mATX boards are "budget" oriented while mITX boards are "I want compact at any cost" oriented
Yeah thats the godlike
ya
its that and the case too
You can get cheap AF mITX cases
I don't think something like a Terra is right if this is your first time
and you're considering a 9800x3D
i picked the terra as kind of a substitute as it's readily availible and I wouldnt have to pay shipping
can't fit an AIO, so it needs to be an air cooler, but compact top down model.
my main concern is building something that fits comfortably in a dorm and is easy to transport
I had a full tower in my dorm... anything will fit
How often are you going to transport it
i was told there are niche matx cases that are also small but those are expensive
i had a laptop lol
not that often, just whenever i have to go home from the dorm
via car
the cases we looked at earlier were all ITX
NCase M2 or M3
guilty sent that one
If you aren't look at 4090s and 5090s then an M2 will work and its slightly smaller
It can
the m2 looks pretty cool
if you want really small and not using big components you can go for the shinysnake s300
its in the 8-9 litre range
oh M2 Grater also
i'm dizzy
and it has a handle
im not im never going to have a need for a gpu that powerful
Yeah it gets confusing
If you don't mind limiting your CPU to like 100-120W then you can get Terra
But you're running these kinds of coolers
well the terra would restrict me to itx right
and SFX PSU's are more expensive
unlike the m2
you're 100% mITX in a Terra
logically going with the m2 and building matx is probably the smartest for me
Didn't realize how cute and tiny that psu was
cause my main issue with was with the a3 i saw in person
You could also do this...
still looked big it was just short
cool toaster dude
do you already have a GPU? didn't you mention 3080?
yeah fe
285mm length
M2 will do 30 series FE and even an ATX PSU with an mATX board https://ncased.com/blogs/m2-builds/m2-build-level4
is the m2 larger than the m3
Smaller by a hair
and how much is it
$235
shipped
What is gabe using to transport their case tho?
oh, couldn't tell you
car
What are you putting it in?
I use a carry-on bag and my 10L ITX barely fits in
surrounding it with hopes and prayers that nothing goes wrong
he's driving to and from a dorm
ugh 5nail have you seen ncase's Cosmic Orange powdercoat
yes
thats so bright
its like... of all colors
is there a difference between the m3 grater and the round performance wise
Does it match the iPhone
they don't do white, but they do caution orange
yes the grater is much more ventilated
so its a must
imho yes
and the flatpack is just i have to put it together right
yes
which you shoudl do anyway because there are so many layouts
like mine is "inverted"
it would be 260 shipped to me
Thats not very assuring
I was running this for a while
if you do it this way you don't need feet, because the GPU is intaking from above
M3 + FE card + ATX PSU + mATX board example https://ncased.com/blogs/m3-builds/m3-build-level4
The goal of this build is to provide guidance on component compatibility. The component choices are not optimized for performance, thermals, or budget. Notice: Small Form Factor PC builds are typically more challenging compared to standard PC builds, requiring greater attention to detail and advanced assembly skills. T
this looks cool
that overhang of the GPU on the PSU is scary. better hope your particular PSU doesn't have ports there
but this is what you deal with trying to put big parts in small cases
I would avoid ASRock B650 anything
what would u recommend
Anything but ASRock
also what psu since i no longer need sfx
msi?
also the point of the grater diminshes if the whole front is blocked by PSU
good point
i don't think there is anything wrong with Asrock B650 (just 850/870) but if not Asrock, you only have 3 other options and they're fine
does it have what you need?
yes
theres two different versions with different ios. Im assuming the one on the right is better correct?
more usb c and gen 3?
better is up to you
fair enough
get whatever u need
theres no definitive better here from us
when it comes to layout for the m2 is what are considered "objectively" better layouts restricted by psu size?
if you're trying to put an mATX board and ATX PSU in either M2 or M3, you don' thave many options for layout
well i think the matx board makes sense for me but im not sure abt the psu
in fact looking at the layout examples, its the same just one is inverted
I do not trust them transporting a 15L area box around regularly after he said âhopes and dreamsâ transporting it
this isnt about ur driving skills- you have no contingency plan whatsoever
ill worry abt that after i actually have the computer
so what psu size would u recommend?
if i'm building in a case like that, SFX without question. removing compromises
just go all in since youâre transporting it so you can fit it in a bag
Corsair's SF line is kinda the best
i dont find lugging around a really big fat box everyday worth the price diff of smaller versus fat
yeah i figured
it would cost me roughly ~1300$ to build in a matx if i get the m2
idek if that's worth it the case is the same cost as the mobo and psu combined
just make more component compromises and go all in for small box
âwho cares about having cool temps, let the fastest man winâ
a small box would literally cost me roughly the same
shinysnake S300
specially if im alr paying 260 for an matx case
Fascinating
with this treasure i summon iroh
the image setsuna sent is an emote in the sff discord
lol am i mahoraga now?
yeah have fun ill be dyin first
megumi pulling mahoraga cause he stubbed his toe
is there no other more reasonably price compact matx case
no not really unless you resort to china
dude just grow bigger testicles and go smaller via the s300
matx is a weird middle ground that most companies donât care enough about to make a competitively priced case
like if im genuienly gonna spend 170 on a mobo and 260 on a case i might aswell go mitx surely
REAL
yes yes yes yes
BUY THE T1
the t1 is cool
buy it!
t1 is too expensive for him xd
heâs crying over it already while considering a M2/M3 with matx parts and a large psu
heâs gonna get itx taxed xd
If you are considering an M2/M3 then you are not considering a T1
no thi swas with a sf850
Totally differnt flavour of "SFF"
theyâre two different size classes
I have a Terra and an M3 - those are not the same potential systems
well yeah ik i came in here wanting mitx cause i think its super cool but was turnt away from it because of the mitx tax and the difficulty in building
âSFFâ is generally anything less than 25L
the difficulty really isnât too bad
Its like $200 total
the m2 alone is 260
The difference in price
@devout ridge btw ive decided end of the year to cerakote my T1 to like a silver-blue
the lowest spec T1 is actually only 195usd before shipping
ooh pretty
completely new build, replacing everything except for the C5 CU
so if i were to get m2 you would recommend going for an atx psu?
Im still keeping the panels as Ti
i wanna barf
You already got the glacial?
thereâs so many conflicting colors
Oh no thats prob another build
so do u think i should just do m2, sfx psu, and matx mobo?
Maybe
full commit and go with the formd T1
I don't follow the mATX stuff so dunno if anything worthwhile there
mATX was invented to be cheap
you wonât regret, promise
how much is the average mitx cooler
Mission accomplished
i think you should do a S300 or a T1, mITX board, SF series PSU and a axp47
you can get an axp90x47 for like 35usd
thatâs the go to cooler for the T1 with a >2.5slot gpu
what mobo would u recommend
whatever itx board with the IO you want that you can get for cheap
anything i should avoid
i find the velka 7 to be too limiting
ID-Cooling IS-67-XT preferred
and if theyâre already worried about the build process in the T1, i doubt theyâre up for the velka
assuming you can fit it
is there any mobo brand i should avoid
no only the shit models
I would avoid ASRock w/ AM5
only fits in 2.25slot or thinner
they have a 3080fe
3080 FE
oh itâs 2 slot
yes
yeah then what snail said
i jumped in halfway into the conversation and missed the specs, my bad
I've tested all this shit - the id 67 xt is the best
na ur good
the T1 was my first PC build and i found it to be pretty easy, though i made a point of taking my time
this is slightly more expensive than what i had for the matx build
this is on top of the 9800x3d bundle from microcenter which id sell the mobo from
Get that asrock murder board out of htere
oh and get custom cables at some point, theyâre really nice to have
not required for air cooling, but by god do they look nice
Yeah i mostly meant in future when they have extra funds
thats not am5
im a dumbass
Personally i'd go M2 or M3 grater
search for b650 and b850 in filter
put a 9800x3d into pcpp so it will show you am5 only boards
this is all we got
i ran stock cables and an aio in the T1, so theyâre fine with stock cables and an air cooler
@eager elm this is a 9950X3D w/ 48GB of 8000 CL36 RAM, 4TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe, 2TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe, 280mm AIO, 5090, SF1000... and its silent, performs amazing, and is easily movable to and from my office.
i dont doubt that i just mean like if im alr spending 260 on a case, getting a sfx psu and a 170 usd mobo
why not mitx
the compact space heater
the difference is mostly personal preference
small is cool
T1 ftw then
fitting absurdly powerful gear into something smaller than a shoebox is funny
i think it could be the move
There's a mobo behind there lol
if you squint really hard, it looks like a box fan
is the Gigabyte B650I AORUS ULTRA good with you guys
or is gigabyte a piece of shit too
@eager elm how much does the s300 cost for you on say, taobao or ali
ooh pretty
@shell void $1200 mobo experience is kind of cool
better be a good experience for that price
Its for those who dare
it's like 100 bucks w out shipping on aliexpress
but does it look as cool as the t1
also the t1 is cheaper than the m2
If you are looking at T1 why not Terra
terra would work better for me
as i wouldnt have to pay shipping
i saw the terra irl too and it looked cool
I'd prob take it
and sf850 is chill for 9800x3d and 3080 correct
yes
i think thats the play then probably
I wouldn't
sf850 is only slightly more expensive so id just grab that anyway
as you should
@devout ridge even as I click on a monitor review I see the T1
even as Im scrolling I see another T1 build
out of curiosity what is the nearest cpu in performance to the 7950x?
This is sick
basically early smartphone screen size
đ¤Ž
but the display of post codes is insane
it actually says memory training, cycle, etc.
I got bored today
my dumbass thought that was one of those AIOs like the hyte with the smartphone screen
its the IO cover
my beloved glacial
dude this is so cool
maximus extreme but white
I am so glad I have the Apex and all... but this is fun
I almost got the Dark Hero today
the dark hero does look nice, itâs like a mini extreme
but the glacial is a full size white extreme
its cute but they ditched the slimsas and shit... so its kinda dumbed down from X870E Hero
Didn't I have an X870E Hero? I must have
yeah i did
$1200 extreme glacial board in a fractal north in the living room is kind of amusing
ah yes lets set a listing for the 165hz and show the 240hz info
@brisk jolt how much is the X870E Glacial Ice for you
i kinda expected the north xl to look longer
1 or 2 in each store
or is that 5090 just that big
ah that pic makes the diff
there is like 2" to the right of the gpu
i have like 5 mm between my gpu and the rad
the glacial looks fire
whats like the tiniest atx case thats still usable
its completely ridiculous
@edgy laurel this is during Windows 11 installation - no software running
cause maybe i just suck it up and fuck the sff and show up with an atx like snail to my dorm
it does that power readout w/o any background apps, kinda cool
must not have clicked
are we deadass
yeah i just did
if i just sucked it up all id have to buy is the bundle and thats it
700 to build in atx compared to 1400 to build in mitx/matx
Not only did I show up with a FULL tower ATX, but it was like 2004 full tower ATX
I want to say a chieftec alienware clone
STEEL, easily 50 lbs all inm
exactly and computers in dorms are probably more of a norm now lol
uh yes
they were always the norm
Here's the other thing...
A T1/terra/M2/M3 are nice because you can carry it easily... but so can someone else
i have a ugly ass corsair 220t i got like 6 years ago
yeah exactly maybe i go with a 200 l to prevent this
5nail is just built different
five mall five nail
what are some decently priced and small atx cases
Anyone know any fixes for a asus strix laptop that got a win 11 update and now when turned on lights on keyboard come one but display stays black
idrc abt aesthetics much

lowkey would be a good use of ai, to give you troubleshooting steps to narrow it down
this can be quite a few different issues from your description
Thatâs all been tried itâs claims bios issues so they fix may be a repair shop or just wait a month till all power drains and bios resets
X870E Glacial, 5090 Master Ice, 9850X3D dorm build?
5nail back 2 school build
theres a cmos battery inside the laptop you can manually remove to reset bios lol. you dont have to wait for the battery to drain
Itâs asus you canât cause f me I guess đ
what is this case https://www.amazon.com/SSUPD-Meshroom-Mini-ITX-Compatible-Variant/dp/B0FFBC7QMP?th=1
popular mitx
it fits atx boards but the psu blocks the pci express ports
if you were gonna build a nas with 4 3.5s what would you build in
milk crate
would 750w be pushing it if i was on 9800x3d and 3080
no
bro im stuck in the middle of fuckass nowhere in taiwan
@shell void the gaming trio is not a fan off the aorus master vbios it seems
wait nvm it's behaving now
fucking shitbox
skill issue tbh
whats the max power u saw it draw
im gonna assume its at best 330-350
peyton have you played the new ron dlc yet?
so far just 309w because i didn't open a real benchmark
bro
what
nice name
the name
and no I've been building a house in secondlife
and being a socialite
and working on my office
did he not?
yeah it's like 350w @brisk jolt
what is secondlife
it can 3.3 but itâs honestly so noisy iâm gonna just flash back
adult game
I wish i could do 3.3 on the prime but 3280 is close enough
did you try this vbios
i flashed the master bc of the power limit
card wont be recognised
wdym
i had to reinstall my driver to get the card to work again but otherwise it's been fine
no drivers- tried reinstalling and still nothing
card isnt recognised at allon msi ab
nvidia app also just doesnt recognise the card lol
completely stock in the game i play it's sitting about 29
fan noise seems the same so i guess i'll leave it flashed
@merry stirrup did you ever try vbios stuff
i dont think i fucked anything up since it was still displaying and I managed to just flashback but yeah
of course when I decide to do laundry it starts raining, TF
seems like 3250 @ 325w is roughly where the card wants to sit
that seems very normal indeed
iâm breaking my brain trying to figure out how amdâs laptop cpu hierarchy has worked with igpus
none of this shit makes any sense
âyou canât even tell my monitorâs onâ ahh tiktok video
it was technically off
neither of these screens are illuminated in the photo, it just helps show the "magenta" screen color of qd oled
well iâm still trying to figure out why a 7000 branded ryzen processor came with a GCN gpu so iâve got bigger fish to fry
yeah the older qd oleds suck at brightness
The 1000 nit mode on my AW2725DF literally turns everything dark to purple
i think that was my dream monitor for a while
but then asus made this tandem 540hz panel
I think Ill take dull dark grey before magenta
its actually not that bad in most lighting
i just saw that from a certain angle and thought it would make a good picture
I can imagine, that magenta only pops when there's light coming straight at the display as I understand
Probably looks perfectly black in the dark
lol
Gave myself some gentle carpal tunnel going through and editing a 217 row imported csv spreadsheet because it formats completely improperly
This is what we do in cybersec classes I guess
Lol
i just found 8 dead bodies trust me bro
I just got called the n word by a free kit
looks inside tempest bp
makes sense
Yo guys Iâve got a b250m msi motherboard rn and a i5 7500 what should I get as upgrade I got 24gb ddr4
a brand new computer
no but seriously
theres no upgrades from 7th gen without needing a motherboard upgrade so
depends on your budget
probably go to am4 with a 5000 series chip. look second hand
@wise bear send it
or just save your money
Yea I found a b450m and a ryzen 5 5600 quite cheap
send what
job
i think im pretty decided that im gonna get the tandem WOLED version of the XG32UCWMG with DP 2.1
why did you specify with DP 2.1
kind of an odd feature to include
full 4k420 needs dp2.1 or DSC is used
yes
i dont mind DSC but its still something to account for
do you have a 50 series card as well then?
yes
GL hitting 4k240 on that
wen play arc raiders, nuclear option or ready or not
i lost it all.
why the fuck are there so many people just sitting in the water treatment control ratting
@brisk jolt @edgy laurel ||FERRARI 1-2 INTO TURN 1||
||FUCK THEY LOST IT ALREADY||
Maybe McDonald's will take Jerry since bk didn't
I think I've found stability, just reducing the boost clock to effectively the base cpu boost limit of 5.3ghz with a -15 CO did it
Will gradually raise the boost clock back to stock pbo limits, feel 5425 will be the highest I can push it
with which one 5070Ti
i going to try and find tmr
sponsor my travel fee
Taipei mrt is NOT cheap
i treat u one bbt of ur choice okcan
ok
not exceeding $10
son
omg bless the place is kinda near me
sim lim of taiwan
@brisk jolt @edgy laurel
u better answer my calls tmr
