That's honestly crazy since DLSS's whole thing is, you know, better performance. There's a reason I use it in most games I play. Sometimes I'll turn it off depending on the performance, but I generally prefer the FPS uplift and rarely notice a difference in quality. The only big difference in quality I've noticed off the top of my head was recently in TLOU 1. Apparently they implemented DLSS weird or something and motion blur leaves really weird ghosting behind your character when you turn the camera, so I just turned motion blur off since I'm playing on Ultra. Once you turn off motion blur everything is perfectly fine, it's just that one thing that's weird.

It's not just pricing though, it's availability. The first few years of the 2020's because of COVID chip shortage and crypto GPUs were harder and harder to come across. Many that you could find were being scalped either by randoms or by companies themselves. Then things cooled down for a bit (but prices were still higher than they were before), now the AI boom is causing RAM, NAND, and now hard drives to become less and less available. It has increased the costs of manufacturing across the board. If AI continues as it is it is going to get much worse than it is now unless some other factor changes. (not to mention tariffs, which is a whole seperate stupid issue)
