My problem isn't the technology existing, it's how it's implemented. How it's quickly becoming a necessity for ANY game to run smoothly.

The Anti-aliasing stuff is cool. I do use that a lot. Really like it.

My problem is upscaling technology being a NECESSITY on a card that costs as much as rent does. It isn't. It's a crutch for game developers to not need to spend money on optimization. It's the same reason I dislike the implementation of UE5.

i changed my 9800x3d for a 9950x3d because I was lacking the performance of multi-tasking when playign games. however, I began noticing that my frames are much worse with the 9950x3d than the 9800x3d. In Helldivers I would get 120 frames consistently, however, when playing Helldivers now I get dropped to 60fps during fights.

I am seeing online that you can disable the CCD that doesn't have the 3d v-cache... is that what I should do? or should i just swap my CPU back to the 9800x3d? i changed my CPU last time, and I had to go through this whole ordeal with TMP BS and getting locked out of my own Windows account.

You can't buy the best gaming CPU on the planet, have those problems and think "yeah, my CPU isn't good enough". That doesn't make any logical sense. That was simply a system issue. Possibly needed your running applications looked at or just a reinstall of Windows. Adding a second CCD isn't going to speed anything up, but possibly introduce more issues.

i bought the 9800x3d as an upgrade from my 12700k, I enjoyed it for several months, however, (like i said before) when anyone sent me a steam message when playing Minecraft specifically, it would cause my game to freeze for a half a second. After changing the CPU i haven't had that issue since.

I didn't like how slow my computer was outside of playing games. my 12700k was great at multitasking. my 9800x3d was great, however, it only had 8 cores.

I kept looking into it. Reports, statistics, and people kept saying that the only difference between a 9950x3d and a 9800x3d was only a few percentage difference. It could perform worse because of the latency between both CCD's. I turned on the balanced power mode for my computer, and it seems to make a difference, my games seem to run much better now.

Did i make a mistake, most likely. I don't know if i should have stayed with the 9800x3d and just lived with it. But man, my computer has been more responsive since getting this CPU.

When i got the 9800x3d, i used a fresh install of windows. When i changed it to the 9950x3d i didn't fresh install windows. I currently have the PBO enabled for the 9950x3d CPU, is that something I should turn off?

I am switching to AMD next time I upgrade my CPU. I think I'm going to wait until they release AM6 (whenever that is since I won't need it sooner). However I hope whenever I do upgrade they can take faster RAM kits by then. I will likely use this same RAM kit for them and it would be nice to not have to lower the speed from 6600 MT/s. At the end of the day it isn't a deal breaker, I'm going with them regardless next time since I'm mad at Intel for their fuck up of the 13900k-14900k, but still.
