hi i currently run an i5 12400K on my GIGABYTE AORUS ELITE AX Z690. I have a Corsair TITAN 280 RX AIO cooler. gpu is an MSI NVIDIA 3060, and I have 48GB DDR4 (2x8, 2x16) 3700MHz Corsair ram.

my cpu idles at 28-30°C with my cooling setup. I figured i could upgrade and probably get some boost out of it safely considering how overdone the cooling is on my current cpu. what are my best options? my budget for a replacement cpu is $220 with 10% leeway if need be. its not a detrimental thing, just a QoL upgrade im looking to make. whether it be a higher end part, or a moderate end part that i can boost the balls out of - im up for whatever.

for almost all components, this does not apply, this is specifically a thing with raptorlake CPUs

alderlake is fine to buy used, arrowlake is fine to buy used, AMD Ryzen CPUs also fine to buy used. as with mobos, RAM, GPUs, all fine to get used
