boot to install USB that you (presumably) made earlier, delete all partitions on the drive, then select the only remaining Unallocated Space and just click Next

A reset won't - it's not designed to let you change partitions. It simply "attempts" to reinstall a "clean" (haha - yeah right) copy of Windows in place of your existing Windows install.
