Most people don't notice it but it's always there at the scene refresh rate when frames change, a sight dip

It's possible with extremely high refresh rate, it can be mediated for people sensitive, but at sub 1k hz, it hurts my eyes

The dip isn't as severe as pwm dimming on lots of disorders, but the problem is the frequency. If it's 120hz, it dims 120 times a second, etc. which is pretty low.

Tbh I did own a pc case ages ago back around 2011 to 2013 what wasnt tall but was wider it was like a giant block snd for the life of me I cant recall the cases name I liked that case sometimes I used the corner of it to rest my toes on with socks on off course

Go to rtings.com and look at the PWM flicker section for every recent, decent quality OLED review you can find.

Chances are those are PWM free, and they'll give a 10/10 for flicker, but you'll see clear, consistent dips in their measuring.

If it's recent, they'll say "No" to the flicker-frre criteria.

If you're looking at older reviews where they didn't account for this new inherent characteristic to oled (old testing methodology booked PWM flickering as the only flicker metric), they'll say something like it is flicker free per their pwm criteria, but the monitor does have a small dip in brightness that corresponds to the monitor's refresh cycle, and unlike PWM, it's one line at a time, so it's likely not noticeable.

If not for those two, I would have kept going.

Honestly was deciding between just going to x99 platform for more DDR3 RAM, but again, Windows security updates, so went with platform upgrade. Hope this one lasts longer than my old system.

The only form of flicker I’ve ever had with my 5090 was VRR flicker when my secondary and tertiary display were set to a different refresh rate than my main display. But I figured that was an issue with the fact that my main display is a TV lmao.
