If you wanted more airflow you could remove the front plate or the upper one if you have them, you can't remove the side panel and call it a day for the simple fact that due to the thermal design of the case hot air would simply linger around (and dust+debris would get in easier), plus due to the direction of the fans it would just lead to less constant and unpredictable airflow

Even in cases as said, the presence of walls (side panel is one) and of fans, AND the minimization(?) of turbulence allows air. Again, perfect laminarity is Impossible but that's not the point. If we see it as a gradient then we wanna be towards laminarity as opposed to chaos. We achieve this through the direction of fans and smooth surfaces and walls. Remember when I said perfect laminarity is not achieved unless in a lab? I stand by that.

There's no "absolute speed", fans just need to be slightly faster than the airflow that would be there with 0 rpm (passive airflow). Just enough speed to overcome. Idk who told you there's a need for it.
