For the record, OEM's like Dell and HP do make PC's with "standard" PC components (motherboards, PSUs, etc.) these days, but they're usually only a small handful of their models. The rest of their models indeed often use proprietary (or sometimes even server form factor) components, which in turn does make it more difficult to upgrade or repair later. 👍 For example, I recall the HP OMEN and some of their ENVY desktops use/used standard parts.

So... while that might seem like a deal, and it can be if you're using it for certain tasks, I have found that Minecraft / Game servers should be no more than ~10 years old at most. To be clear, I'm not saying you can't host a Minecraft server on a 2nd gen Intel i7 system, but the experience for the price won't be optimal.

I currently have either a 3rd or 4th gen Intel i5 processor in an HP ProDesk Mini PC for Minecraft. It still works, but it's absolutely getting anemic for even the lightest of Minecraft modpacks with only 5 users playing at once. (Like, it still works, but 3-5 people playing together feel the lag when doing anything away from base.)
