I specifically went with the Astral/Dahab version because of all the early melting connector reports — figured the live per-pin monitoring would at least warn me if something was wrong.
Well… it warned me in under 15 minutes.
As soon as I started benchmarking (Time Spy Extreme, FurMark, even just Cyberpunk 2077 RT Overdrive), the card throws this message:
“Attention: One or more pins are drawing more current than recommended”
The red sensor on the card itself lights up like crazy, and GPU Tweak III shows completely unbalanced current across the six sense pins on the 12V-2×6 connector. Example I just recorded:
Pin currents under load:
12 A | 3 A | 5 A | 8 A | 11 A | 7 A
Some pins are hitting 11–12 A while others are chilling at 3–5 A. For anyone who doesn’t know, the 12V-2×6 spec is supposed to be max ~9.2 A per pin continuous. This is way over on multiple pins.
