The problem might be the handshake of those. The device plugged to the charger might talk with the charger to see what voltage and current it might be able to deliver.
But the charger never supports the same voltages and current to all ports. They share wattage, so if you plug two phones to charge might charge fast. If you plug a smartwatch later on, its charging cable might only accept 5 volts and the charger might change all USB voltages and currents so it could handle the 3 ports. And this might make the phones charge slower.
