as in would i better getting a cpu on par with them, like its not causing a botle neck
You're talking about all latest gen / modern parts. Bottlenecks are not something you should be concerning yourself with
That stupid word needs to be banned until people understand what it means lol
i do because i wont be upgrading for easily 7 years
that has no relevance
what is relevant is once again, buy the best you can afford. thats all that matters
especially if you plan to keep it for 5+ years
Mods, can we warship "bottleneck"
your a very dismissive person, could just say wether you think the pair would work and if it would matter about bottleneck, quite rude icl
If the GPU would work.. of course it would work. If thats the best you can afford, then thats the best option.
No one can answer this mysterious "bottleneck" question because it simply doesn't work that way. You've been led to believe its this static "thing" that needs to be avoided but its not that simple. Every system has a performance bottleneck that will change depending on the game.
If there wasn't one, you'd have unlimited performance.
not just on the game, but also the resolution and exact settings you choose
And we know that isn't the case.
My pc's bottleneck is my pc.
My bottleneck bounces between my self imposed framerate limiter or GPU performance depending on the game. In some UE5 titles, its my CPU.
he generally answered your question- you literally specified nothing.
In some others, its just the engine itself.
There is far more to this concept than just your CPU and GPU pairing.
common problem for smaller dev teams
i knew it tech people got something hard stuck up their a** 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Providing accurate, well nuanced answers means we have a stick up our asses?
At least it's not like ye olde days when the rig you brought home would be impossibly obsolete a few months or in some severe cases the second you brought it home from a major retailer or the mom and pop shop
guys chilll

I'm sure its the way I went about it but this question, or rather misunderstanding comes up multiple times a day, year after year.
This all stemmed from ZTT
simply dont answer
Ha, yeah I was gonna say, blame the youtubers
well, mostly.
And continues to exist because many other tech creators like to perpetuate the idea
not everyone has time research and understand all parts, all good, given the question ans provided
So you don’t want an accurate answer but instead an incorrect one that feeds into your preconceived notions of how PC performance works?
my love chill
Yep, so they're told not to worry about it
Anything from the most recent generation will perform admirably for the foreseeable future
And in said ye olde days that was why 486 (and to a lesser extent) Pentium overdrives became a thing
also true for the previous generation
Just get 9070xt; you will not be disappointed.
End of the day, guy wants a GPU to last him 7+ years. You buy the best one you can afford, period. You can elaborate on games you play/intend to play and resolution but 7+ years is a LONG time and games are getting harder and harder to run.
This is the only thing that makes sense, not worrying about some hypothetical "pairing".
9070xt wasn’t one of the options they suggested
i mean... im thinking about getting a 5070 ti just for wow in 1440p lol. kinda a waste lol
go back to watching ZTT for advice im sure you’d like brainrotted easy to consume content over people with experience and knowledge who have a way deeper understanding.
We would hear you out- But you didnt state any specifics and started lashing out
Two keywords come up everytime in these situations. "pairing" and "bottleneck". Its at that point you know you've gotta clear up these misconceptions on what matters and what doesn't because they've been misled.
eliajah streaming
we can indeed tell that from his status
q is either writing a whole essay or a single sentence, no inbetween
Is that a q? I don't understand any of those characters
Too old to even know how one does that
copy paste some unicode iirc
and that lmao
I'm saying if its an annoying question then just ignore it and let someone else answer, and the reason I say I didnt like your answer originally is the way you dismissed my thoughts, takes 2 seconds to be polite, as well the fact that i was asking because if there is a gap in performance now, as someone who doesnt know alot about it i assume with time some games will be more cpu dependant or gpu so if one is weaker in 7 years i thought it could lead to a bigger bottle neck, and yes i didnt state specifics becasue i was rushing for an answer because im excited about a new pc, and you say i lashed out i simply said that i thought his approach was very dismissive, and that if a question annoys someone and they are going to let that be portrayed over text to simply ignore it. I also find it quite funny how everyone jumped at me for saying so, apologies for thinking people dont mind helping out others
there’s the essay
guys we want more minds in tech we need newcommers
sorry little one but
your a very dismissive person, could just say wether you think the pair would work and if it would matter about bottleneck, quite rude icl
still concerned about bottlenecks. Going to be really upset in 7 years when his GPU is the performance bottleneck in every title.
crisis is what happens when you try and predict the future of gaming
As it might be today at 4K in AAA titles
in 7 years we might be running 8k games or something, it’s impossible to say
best you can do is buy the best thing you can afford right now, and hope for the best
whenever someones angry, it good the shake the body aggressivly and also test to see if you notice your saliva taste change, that way you can remain calm
what
facts no troll
if you want to keep a card for almost a decade buy the top end of the stack
but playing crystal ball is dumb
damn more money = more performance
if you need to upgrade you need to upgrade, that's how it works
Can someone help me with this? I'm trying to switch cases so I gottatake my gpu out but no matter how hard I try I can't pull it out its a 4080 super and I have been pinching the bottom on the lever thingy too
-i turn left now. goodluck to everybody else
did you take the screws out?
Yes
I'm going to try one more time to try and help you understand that this worry about "bottlenecks" is making your goal of building a PC more complicated than it needs to be.
I have a 7800x3D and a 4090 and I play at 4K. If I play vampire survivors, a top down basically 2D game, my "bottleneck" is my self imposed framerate limiter. If I play Alan Wake 2, my bottleneck is my GPU. If I play (at least back at launch) Stalker 2 my bottleneck was my CPU.
You always have a performance bottleneck and it shifts around
The people that need to care about this are the people trying to play games with a 13y/o CPU and say a 5070. That CPU has no chance of keeping that GPU fed with data to allow it to perform at 100% in modern titles. Not a chance in the world.
what board
Only thing holding it in is its wire
Gigabyte smth
does it have a quick release?
may have to add dw -20 gpu oil to get it out
Idk
you use a self imposed fps cap?
take smth like a pencil and push the lever done
oh wait you meant the cable? i thought it was stuck in the slot
Push it which way
Global 116fps, yes. Remember, I play on a 4K120 display.
down
Yea the cable
the levers down so you kinda just gotta pull it
OH BRUH i thought he was talking about the pcie latch
same
Down as in when I pull out out pinch it towards the place I'm holding or pull it down opposite to where I hold
none of the above
I tried😭
for the cable pinch the latch and pull out
if your psu is modular honestly just unplug it at the psu side if you can't get it out
12vhwpr takes quite some effort to pull out
Can't reach through the screen and do it for you.
daily limit on "like" exceeded
Can I ship one of yo to my house to help with Ts in so done🙏
press down onto the edge of the cable (to the left)
ur pushing it on the right side
put the camera down, hold the latch and move it back and forth. We can't do this for you.
side to side even
that
videos where you're using one hand and holding a camera aren't helpful. Videos in general aren't helpful.
NO DONT TAKE THE SCREWDRIVER-
You need to get in there and just get it done
For me to get it done I need to be moving it in the right way
I feel like I'm not
use your thumb and some other finger to pinch the edge of the connector that has a release latch and pull out
can you show the top of the cable
Its a connector. You pull it out and life experience tells you that might include having to go side to side a bit to work it out. All while making sure to hold the clip.
wibbly wobbly wibbly wobbly wibbly wobbly
i don't understand why this needs to be explained over the internet or what good it would do
Engage your Mk.1 eyeballs and problem solve.
kiroshi optics
if only
the other side of the cable prob should be like this, you want to aim for that latch and press down, pull out
professional cable uninstaller guilty
That's what I have been doing 💔
How much force should I use while squeezing it like so much I feel like it could break orr
just enough so you can feel the latch bend open a little
it’s sturdy and not going to break from squeezing
I hope it’s not melted in or something horrible like that.
I can't even get it that far💔
I don't think so I have not seen any deformaties
that is one fuckass cable position for a card im ngl
42.7in.-lb's, no more no less
i just had to take unplug mine for the first time today to install a ssd and it was pretty surprising how much force it required
The latch needs to bend a little more, then wiggle back and forth/up and down. See if it loosens
What's LB to KG I'm Australian
just squeeze the shit out of it and wiggle it left/right as you unplug it a bit
i can't wait for the next 12v 2x6 revision that involves screws like the vga connector
ignore them they were meming
must be tightened to 56nm or not warrantyable
That was a joke. You have 5+ people trying to help you unplug a cable over the internet...
Just TC2 things
A very tuff cable
Idk what this means
you would have better luck pulling the cable if you put down the phone
elbow grease brother
just do this but the latch is on the bottom for you
press the thing and pull buddty
you know kyoko you're probably right. at this point just pull it from the PSU end
I have been trying for the past hour like
That's what I have been doing
no, you hit your "like" limit in that first video. no more
pull harder
if it didn’t come out in 5 minutes that’s what i would’ve done
concentrate and muster all ur strength to pull it out
grab a friend
But what if I break it
then you break it
I have none walkable distance
if
ur not gonna break the connector
it’s not going to unplug if you keep half assedly trying to pull it out
unplug the card from the motherboard first if you’re that worried about breaking something
it should make everything easier
what in the hell did amd just do?
no more rx 6000 drivers
unplug the PSU end if its modular
take the card out
and PULLLLLLL
I heard the word Australian and I was summoned
I have unscrewed it all I just have the last one in so it had some support
they nuked day 1 drivers for rdna1 n 2
Oh wait good idea
Loo
no more day 1 game optimizations, thats all.
well it’s the bug fix only branch now
feature complete
so parity with you know, 9 year old pascal
and like with that, people are acting like their 6000 series card is going to blow up tomorrow
How's that amd fine wine?
it still sucks for the age of the card though
not the end of the world
Has anyone used syncthing before? I’m trying to keep files on two windows laptops synced whenever they come online at the same time without a central server and it seems like a good option
Dat amd fine wine tho.
Expecting gaymers to grasp this is asking way too much
Your 6900xt will stop working entirely! -- what they hear.. probably
i will accept any and all opportunities to crap on radeon
I'm currently lightly using it to sync up my note folder
it has its quirk imo.
Media Illiteracy! Media Illiteracy!
Edit: sung in the same connotation as Electricity song from School House Rock
In trying to pull the cable out of the PSU and I can't even do that I'm pinching down hard on the lever and cable and pulling out incredibly hard but it just won't move
Is there some technique I should use or smth
no
I suggest a gym membership
Examine the connector in front of you with your eyeballs, problem solve how its meant to latch and unlatch, then use your fingers to remove it. If it isn't coming out, either you're not strong enough or your not holding the latch. This isn't solved in any other way.
Trust me thats not the problem physically I'm healthy
Can try yee old left and right wiggle but be sure the clip is pinched to where its not hitting the plastic tab*
Remember when people thought amd gpu got a decent % bump in performance from a driver update?
I just rly don't wanna break this
I would say the connector can withstand a decent pull
what issues do you run into?
was this discovered in the last 2 hours
Sorry floppa fams it hit us like a brick wall
I GOT IT
I'm at work
no i skipped work today i just forgot to mention i was sick to chat
i’m bored waiting for ycruncher
I was going to say you've been talking RAM for like 10 hours straight in here lmao
lmao
Drink lots of water, ibuprofen/Tylenol combo for the fever
I love talking about ram.
you don’t even know
so I’d rate the force needed to get the connector out of the card like 3x as much as from the psu
Ok
I helped a random fb marketplace person to oc his ram to 6000 cl30 because it had hynix m die.
hell yeah
The Android version is a 3rd party fork and so it has a weird quirk where the sync progress percentage will sometimes not updating.
as for pc to pc sync, I forgot what quirk I ran into when I'm using it atm
all it took was some passive aggressive insults
broski i have an ip kvm specifically to overclock my ram at work
is this healthy
LOL
XD
you’re mad i get paid to mess with my own computer
i suggest you start by practicing pulling the motherboard 24 pin
look at how terrible this thing looks rn
pull clip wiggle up and down
and out
She may not be pretty but if it works
not side to side
and not just straight out
it’ll rock out it’s really not that difficult
Now I need to figure out how to remove the glass panel on the new case
Then I’ll get the motherboard out
The 24 pin is usually pain
i have issues plugging in the cpu 8 pin cause i usually do it at poor times
yeah
had my wife do it outside the case as well
As long as it gets to you before the fries get soggy its where its at
no fries cause they wanted 8$
ain’t no way
for about a dollar of potato’s and 3 minutes of labor
got me FREAKED up
fire
yo im looking for a white ram 6000-6400 speed, 32gb, can someone help me find a good one? (US amazon)
i mean it depends what u are doing with it
OLED monitor
Cheapest from known brand
It’s a 240 Hz and I just got it I don’t rly need an oled I only play Valorant
And some other storyline games
No need to go overboard with the setup either, time to enjoy it
a 720hz 720p oled
How much are they usually
like 69420 dollars or smth
….
its satire btw
Good
This is why I don’t recommend purchasing Radeon 5000 or 6000 cards despite how good their performance is. AMD decided to cheap out all RDNA 1/2/3 series cards and took away most of the computation (matrix) unit (CDNA) and made them effectively only good for rasterization. In the same time, NVIDIA kept the computation (datacenter) unit on their graphics card, aka the tensor cores, which made nvidia cards much stronger at interference, upsampling and frame generation than RDNA 1/2/3. please realize, as a profit driven company, AMD doesn’t care about you at all, and all they want is just profit, through means of whether or not hurting the consumers. While NVIDIA still actively maintains rtx 30 series, AMD already made announcements ditching their counterparts, without even getting the drivers on par in terms of performance with NVIDIA. Shitty companies will always do shitty practice, and when AMD introduces UDNA, RDNA3 will be ditched as soon as possible as it’s totally a completely different architecture. RDNA4 will stay a bit longer as it resembles the next gen UDNA, however don’t expect anything from a shitty company AMD, and they will not deliver anything. Don’t ever expect them getting the drivers good before totally abandoning you. If you are someone who pays some level of respects to yourself, avoid AMD graphics cards PLEASE, and go nvidia.

seems that my chip only needs .95v vnnaon for 40d2d
perhaps maybe* its running ycruncher at least and has been fo 10 minute
10 minute stable? youtube comment section tuner approved
30 whole minutes now
its good to go
Why are you like this
fuck upscaling
I like my frames raw
AMD drivers are open source. RDNA 1 and 2 users will be fine. Lmfao.
where do i ask question when fixing software problems
I was waiting so long for him to start laughing
wait can u reinstall windows without resetting data? I have the your it administrator has limited access problem
oh
not a proper reinstall
i think the "your it administrator" problem has not been solved yet
the login you're using is not an admin, or something funky with your install
Gomenasai back at it again
Minisforum citing raw material costs as a reason for the price increase MINISFORUM has issued a notice confirming a price adjustment effective November 4, 2025. The company cites higher global raw material costs as the reason for the change, which will apply to most products except barebone models or systems without DDR5 memory or SSD […]
Not an interesting article but a funny one
at this rate we aint gonna have a consumer gpu segment soon
or the ai bubble can pop and after one smol recession we can all have funni gpu to play with again

I <3 using ewaste
I think NVIDIA should stop developing drivers for everything but blackwell
I mean they almost rendered their driver unusable just a while back
NVIDIA is for people with money, can't be driving 65 in the left lane
Since when did the connections start using images instead of words
the what
me looking at the idiot passing me when Im going 247 in a 90
in km*
the NYT connections
I always drive at the perfect speed, if someone is driving faster than me they are an idiot
whatever speed the lion drives is the correct one
Oh, didn't even know that was a thing
Killing time today, so played it for the first time in a while, and it had pictures instead of words
Mom and dad told the lion he can stay up an extra hour because it’s Halloween
i've never seen the game have pictures
I think they had a couple pictures once before but not all pictures
interesting
wait that might have been emojis instead
Are Intel arc GPU's any good for story mode games, hitman gta6 and so on?
todays was pretty easy ngl
wait no way they do have pictures
I always fail the connections I'm so bad at it
usually the blue and purple ones I've never heard of before, this time it's the only ones I got correct
I'm ok, but sometimes it's real annoying
B580 is decent but it’s kinda weak
it’s like a 12GB RTX 5050
They are pretty good budget cards, but GTA6 doesn’t even have a PC release date yet as far as I’m aware
the type of game doesn't really play a role. speaking of, GN just put out a video on the state of Arc this morning. https://youtu.be/fhECKZQI_Y8?si=kArIXPI_rGd9PpHt

Sadly they are not avlbl in India
I wouldn't intentionally put myself through that
a lot of the things are like "people famous only in the US with a letter in front"
I don't know these people
idk how the indian market is or what your budget is
B580 was a game changer for a few of my buddies, but it is a little difficult to spec for it. Unless there’s been some big change in compatibility that I’m not aware of, you need a generally midrange CPU for it to not bottleneck
anything less than a 3060 Ti is going to struggle to run new demanding games
Soooo 9950X3D back to crashing directx last night
The 3060ti should have had 12gb of VRAM
@merry stirrup @shell void what do we think the odds are of degrading a RAM kit w/ 1.6vdd/1.56vddq daily driver?
i don’t think you need that much vddq but it shouldn’t be a problem
i know 1.6vdd isn’t a problem for hynix d5
I just pulled the 6000 CL26 32GB kit out and put in 6000 CL26 2x24GB, perhaps the RAM is the issue
there have been people dailying 1.75vdd since 12900k
on air though?
if ur worried about temps n lifespan then i would try to minimize vddq
Is today's theme ||famous fictional characters||
well, RAM and SSD price increases. Did customers expect them to eat costs forever ? Others change prices at whim with no prior notification
HBM2 moment
35000rs is less?
I have no idea what that means
It's my budget in rupees
The purple connection tricked me a bit ngl
I am worried the DIMMs might be degraded
well, not worried, but yeah
for gpu?
I wish to spend this much only for CPU and gpu
that’s not much even in the us for both
Think the risks of buying a manager an OLED/QDOLED are worth it in an office setting?
https://www.neweggbusiness.com/product/product.aspx?item=9b-24-012-085&tpk=9b-24-012-085
One of the higher-ups needs a better screen than his 24" 1080p. I talked him into a 1440p UW display.
Is amd dropping game ready drivers for rdna 1 and 2?
i wouldn’t buy a qd oled for a normie because they’re temperamental about ambient lighting, and how you clean the screen
w-oled is fine though
I may just go with a decent VA/IPS instead
prob better
Rdna 1 I can understand, but why rdna 2?
RNDA 2 is only 1 year newer than 1
6950XT has decent raw performance still, but it lacks modern feature support
it’s still early in the usual lifecycle but it’s radeon so what do we expect
b5 42 inch is 550 today
There are a lot of people still on 6700 xts and 6800 xts
i got one in my closet
Nope
and their 6700xt's and 6800xt's aren't going anywhere. will still continue to play games like they've been doing for the past 5 years
RDNA2 barely supports RT so AMD can’t do much to optimize its performance in new RT games xd
turing owners taking another w
the 2070 super has entirely outlasted the reddit backed 5700 xt
turing barely supports RT too tbf
even the 2080Ti eats shit if you enable RT and Ray Reconstruction
I just realised I bought a white psu for my all black pc 😛
Its a bad look for a company who was quoted talking about how they champion longevity and support nonetheless
Just for argument's sake, RTX 20 series is still getting latest game ready updates
All cables are white aswell, it will look good.... perhaps 😂
some contrast perchance
dlss carries it being usable in general though
2019 card can use dlss 4 tensor model
Yep, some contrast could be a good thing
The other psu is also non modular so it is a pain in the ass for someone who has never done this before
yeah and the performance falls off of a cliff if you enable Ray Reconstruction with it
which is required for RT to not look like shit
at least it can somewhat do RT i suppose
AMD still has no reconstruction denoiser so even the 9070XT can’t really do RT
Also the 8 pin for the cpu power, is it small enough to slide in behind the motherboard tray? It should be right?
not much tbh
thats like 350 euros total
unless you buy used
I have the latter
Only because the 20 series counterpart in price was a 2060 standard
Not even a 2060S
Fun card tbh
which still isn’t much
sleep working reliably everytime is so beautiful on the new board
he probaby doesnt have more money ¯_(ツ)_/¯
i ended up not buying neither the iPhone 17PM nor the XG32UCWMG
are you keeping the 13 another year
idk tbh
I understand
I got my 6800 last December. It’s within 10% of the 9060 xt. I have no reason to upgrade. Anyone know if there is a good place on the amd site to send complaints via?
I’m enjoying the 17p that was a free upgrade from the 13
tbh imo i feel like anything below 40 series just sucks at RT in total
excluding the shitty 60 class cards
Moooorning
doesn't happen on these, happens on 34/34 and 32/32
i swear you’ve never had a pc that could sleep
i mean it sleeps fine the issue is it fails prime 95 the second it resumes from sleep
whereas it doesn't with that d2d
me for 2 hours before I got up
doesn't really make sense but i guess some voltage rail isn't enough to bring it back
its 11:22pm for me rn gang i think im gonna die of death
woke up 7am for sch, went to work 5-10
and btw meta cant listen and follow instructions properly
i dont use meta ai
i mean christen you fuck
1 month later kaboom not anymore
USD$15 deal of the century
meh its just a display card for the minecraft server so
the 13700k was a champion like no other
even when actively degrading it was rendering those catgirls and sleeping just fine
(i will just leave the interlinks and not care any more)
Yeah... ASUS 5090 TUF OC is broken
Swapped Gigabyte 5090 Master ice in and it works fine
I guess that could work. Is that normally where big complains go?
its where people that think they're going to make a difference go
I love HBM2 don't get me wrong
Xd
and this makes a difference in games how?
I had 2 Vega Frontiers 1 VII and multiple normal vegas
I have R9 Nano
Games that eat Rebar as their fine wine love it
so good nobody used it for consumer cards again
Yeah because of the price u Dumbo lol
due to being more expensive than GDDR VRAMs
AMD manifactured them at a loss
the 5090 is $2000
are we really saying if hbm provided a massive gain in performance in games they wouldn’t use it?
It's not just about the performance gains though
HBM is not on your PCB like traditional GDDR
if it was more performant for games they’d have kept using it
A VII beats a 2080 in AC Valhalla due to HBM and Rebar
and the 2080ti?
hbm is cool, but $2000-3500 for the 5090 was already nuts xd i dont need it being $5000
throwing it on there to make the spec sheet prettier
in my testing gaming performance doesnt meaningfully improve with memory oc on the 5090
Don’t kid yourself, it wouldn’t be 5k, it’d be 7-8 knowing nvidia
leave hbm on the datacenter where it belongs
5090 is power choked because people would lose their mind over a 1000W gpu
floppa gonna hook that shit up to his breaker directly to oc it
dedicated circuit for just the GPU
that only leaves 440w for the rest of the PC on north american breakers
only 1440w of budget on 120v15a
i thought you weren't allowed to continuously use all 15a
Correct, which is why it’s only 1440w
i reject 12vhpwr
oh that was after the ~12a okay
15*120=1800, 1800*80% is 1440w
my circuits are 20A
Not the norm in most of north america
nor are 20a rated PSUs
europe is mostly 200v 15a right?
i think it's completely reasonable for people to become comfortable with dedicating a single 240v circuit for a high end desktop
albeit slightly different flavors of 200v
that doesnt seem crazy at all to me
(230/240/208)
it's a major appliance
For most people that’s not what it’s perceived as though
yeah thats fine they can buy a 6060 or whatever
ill take my 1000W 6090 and 52 core NVL cpu
I would too, but i just don’t see there being a substantial enough market for cards like that
people already complained 600w was too much
wizard 101 will finally run well
1500W PSU with dual 12VHPWR might just run that well
safety margin is for people afraid of wires
works on my machine
shoutout valve for somehow making rtss render in the middle of my screen
I don’t think I am gonna make a difference I just wanna add to the public response
would have to be 120v20a or 240v
that’s not the issue, it’s that if there’s a small issue breakers take forever to trip just above their rating
IE a 15a breaker at 15.5a will take forever to trip
oh so i must've been going crazy over then
because my room and my sisters room shared a 15a circut
and our 2 pcs + my ac would knock it off pretty consistently
i mean it’ll trip quite quick at 16a
and a lot of components will have transients that go a bit above their- mate you had an AC on it
those are easily 1000w+
even the stupid window units
still do
20A circuit life
ive had my window ac going full blast with my pc setup cranking over 1000W simultaneously
1500a can do a 15a circuit
Not with US electrical code, there’s a limit of 80% for continuous loads
And no pc will be at 100% that often
Doesn’t matter, a PC is considered a continuous load
It’s not about whether or not it would physically work, it’s about whether it abides by US regulations or not
It would absolutely work without issue, but it doesn’t abide by us regulations
This is the way!
That said I hope the 6090 uses a lot less power for the N2 node
I don't think anything is changing, just clarifying the wording
people took the original report to be new games won't work on their cards
which, if you had a brain, didn't say that at all
this announcement is still one of the best marketing campaigns for their competitor though
i think Rubin uses N3P, and it’ll use the same or more power
just push the dummy no fixes driver like nvidia does to old cards
power density is going to continue to go up
I really hope nvidia just ditches the 12vhpwr connector for the 60 series
it’s just a shitshow that isn’t worth trying to save
counter offer: TWO 12v-2x6 connectors 🔥
counter offer: 4 EPS 8 pins
why not just a 24 pin
cause the 24pin is mostly low voltages
and a single 24 pin is far harder to plug in than 4 8 pins
and the 8pin eps connector already exists, and you aren’t locked into a single connector for every card
quite a few people aren’t, and for good reason
i’d rather have the hassle of plugging in/out 8pins than melty connectors
as long as my card doesn’t melt i’m chillin
that’s the thing, it likely will at some point
i’m using a high quality psu without any adapters or extensions, and i have two working hands wired up to a decent brain so i should be okay
Plenty of people with that exact setup have had issues
There is no way to entirely remove the risk
You can certainly reduce it with what you described, but it doesn’t eliminate it
melting connector shit was blown way out of proportion
For every Reddit thread you see with a melted connector there’s another 100k people not having an issue
But “Nvidia bad” so yk
Hi
Eh, its more nuanced. Is everyones card melting? No. Is it a bad design that wasn't necessary with a certainly increased margin for failure? Hell yes.
yeah i would’ve preferred if the 5090 had two connectors and an 800w limit
the connector does have some margin, if all power wires are making even contact then it can safely sustain 1000W with some airflow in the case
give me a 75w only 5090 with no external power cables
skull emoji
make it half width too
I wish the pcie slot evolved to include power
with how long GPUs are, there’s plenty of room for it
6000 blackwell pro sff if you will
600MHz take it or leave it
sold
All true, but manufacturing tolerance inconsistencies with everything being smaller has been problematic, or at least more problematic than the old system with big, chunky connectors.
give me big ole spade connectors
lemme plug my shit straight into the wall
yoooooo
that would be based
4 slot card to accommodate the C13 connector and onboard PSU
three prong AC connector on the rear io
Is Newegg's 2 year protection plan worth getting
does the thing you’re buying have less than a 2 year warranty?
Amd genuinely needs to fire the Radeon marketing team atp

Anyone know a cheaper alternative to the Meshify 2 Solid? Need space for 6 drives
That also doesnt look like shit
Open box item, no warranty listed anymore on the listing
Sold directly by Newegg so hopefully higher chance of not arriving in 50 different pieces
Forgot to say, shipped by Newegg too
Newegg open box motherboards have a History
Id reccommend the plan
Their description was fairly vague; But I assume it'll be useful if product arrives damaged or not working?
This 5090 TUF OC is driving me nuts - now it is working
usb-c on video cards is such a weird thing, they should have kept it, but oh well
i mean nvidia did it on 2080 Ti, and AMD did it on 7900 series. but nothing before or after that
I finally got around to trying rtx hdr and it's really cool
Wasn't it for VR mainly?
was the port purely data or would it do DP-Alt mode direct from the card?
I believe dp alt
yeah it was nice for VR
I think Jigsaw has modified your GPU for Halloween
except it's mental torture this time
I put the stock cooler back on and its working...
have you tried putting the water block back on?
Dp alt, data and some usb pd
I had it on this AM, fails
I have remounted the block 3 times now
damn
each time I put the stock cooler back on it works again
damn damn damn
I am going to play on it w/ stock cooler for a while
that's some weird shit
i hope it can pull more power and offer more performance
Maybe you need to re goop it
load bearing goop
I have
have you taken it to a priest yet
I HATE ARCH SO MUCH
yes, but i mean, USB-C is OK everywhere else, why not keep one USB-C as PD/USB Data/HDMI Alt/DP Alt on every GPU anyway. It's not like it uses ton of space
what now
you can adapt it to dp or hdmi easily
maybe it would be too usefull
Real & True. Slackware or bust
my airpods won't connect to my laptop no more
try gentoo then
no
get a macbook and an iphone and an ipad and embrace the ecosystem
i have multiple USB-C to HDMI or miniDP cables without use because i don't have mini DP connectors on monitors anymore, Mac mini has HDMI directly and Macbook Pro i use with a hub which does USB-PD 100W, 2.5 gig ethernet, HDMI and USB
OK so its not the water block @steel stream
Guys, Guys, did you know, YouTube & YT Music have no ads or sponsors on real smart phones? Just use Android for YouTube ReVanced Extended, gg ez.
i mean openbox.ca is selling iphone 15s for like 450cad with apple care+
Nice, but uh what is the problem now lol
damn very descriptive error
This is what this GPU has been doing for the last couple weeks
I swapped stock air cooler 5090 master in and it was fine
Though maybe I need to spend more time playing on it
toast? kaput? Maybe try an older driver?
Have tried like 4 - 5 prior drivers, reinstalled Windows, forced PCIe to 5.0, 4.0
damn
Reset CMOS
swapped 9800X3D RAM in just in case this set is borked
I guess I need to put the 5090 Master back in and play on that for a while and see whats up
yeah
today i was debating with coworker about what to buy for the company AI testing. I recommended the framework desktop motherboard as a good start (128GB LPDDR5x-8000 for sub-2k euros is good, even tho GPU only gets 96GB)... and then the discussion ended up with me counting how much memory my computers at home have.
Let's just say i was horrified. 128GB (5700G system) + 64GB (3900x system) + 64GB (9950x system) + 64GB (2950x system) + 64GB (Mac Mini) + 128GB (X99 system) + 48GB (second X99 system) only for the main computers :D. 0.5TB right there :D. Plus the "little systems" with 4-16GB RAM 😄
i think you need some more
what could a 5700g possibly need that much memory for
it's the server with VMs
it's not like i bought that RAM for that system, it was just something i had 😄
bought then in May 2020 for 650 euros total (2 kits of 2x32GB DDR4-3600)
i mean i have nothing on @topaz veldt's collection of memories 😄
Your fans set to any specific %/curve
Something is hanging the question of what or why myte take some tooling with
his pictures 😄
Somewhere a function for get gpu takes to long or is improperly written
To not account for x bool or is just failing
Causing the hang
Still curious non the less
Thank's Aliexpress, it is sitting 4 days at airport, really important news
really weird choice of picture orientation in the listing
Hiya! Im.looking for a case recommendation. So many options so I have trouble deciding.
Constraints:
- 360mm AIO support
- ATX mobo
- 140mm PSU Short ATX
Extra wishes: - no needed extra fans, i have plenty of my own
- relatively compact for an ATX build
- Ample airflow for the GPU
I have checked out the o11d mini v2 and its sadly not compatible with my mobo.
Ive seen the Thermaltake View 380 TG which is okay.
But i am also looking for options that arent fish-tank. Like the not yet released Deepcool CH660
Also new case design dropped on Ali
360mm aio excludes the need for short PSU
wtf
also not sure what you consider compact. Meshify 3 can have 360mm front radiator, depends on your definition of compact
My build looks much cleaner with the SATA SSD in the back and case cables rerouted
it's pretty much a sandwich case, just cut in half and GPU out in open 😄
I mean.. Better temps probably lmao
yes but gpu is flopping around
GPU out in the open, and for the inside of the case, one less heat producer
It's not
There's a slot
Ali has the ASRock 2011-3 server board 😄
still feels weird even after all these years
SODIMM with that 2011-3 socket
thats asrock rack board layout
no space for asrock logo
at least they don't do the 20x SATA connector on PCIe x1 card anymore
(not joking about 20x SATA on x1)
@edgy laurel @shell void
I want 5 of these:
Microshaft wtf do you mean "free up some drive space"
Grounded scissors?
Wait
Full plug?
that plug isn't grounded
True
dude
Oh, i know, im just mentioning that it has to at least have support for 140. But yeah i get it
I like the meshify 3 a lot, it just bums me that the 360 cant go on top and i dont wanna be feeding hot air to my GPU
but if you want radiator on top, then that means you need to add 3cm for radiator, another 25mm for the fans, plus the whole motherboard and PSU height... and you can't go under 30cm front to back due GPU lengths
so you end up with what one would consider "big case"
Posted by Fhenris: “RTX 5090 Crashing All Games – Driver Issue or Faulty GPU?”
The absolute state of tech
once upon a time we had really small ATX cases, but obviously you would need more
I had that case! My first custom and "new" case
I cut a hole in the front panel
inverted matx... huh
that is full atx
maybe Jonsbo D41 Mesh ?
Dimension: 205mm (W) * 392mm(H) *440mm(D) (Vol: 35.4L)
that second is 240mm, but you get the point
one with 360
this bend I don't like
but you get why I don't like that bend, right
it's an AIO, it is a disposable item 😄
hey that looks great. ill check it out. thanks.
and yes choosing the word compact was my bad, im just saying i dont want a battle ship on my PC like the h9 flow and such

"i know what i got, no lowballing offers"
lets go only wrong person
Is there 1500 hidden in the case somewhere?
Exactly
my favorite is still this sadness
he has a fullcover for it, but he could have at least reassembled the original VRM heatsink
also Maximus IX Extreme... with G4560
only took 35 minutes to fix
nevermind, it comes with the fullcover only
also just noticed the RAM in the board
atleast price is ok
wish i had money and reason to spend on 3090's for AI... there is one for 499 euros (PNY) and one for 550 euros (ASUS TUF)
also people posting photos of computer screens deserve a special place in hell
only reason to ever do this is bios
most boards can save screenshots of BIOS screens to FAT32 formatted USB sticks
interesting, i mostly take photos of mac addreses for my use only
F12 on Asrock and ASUS, not sure about the rest
what about hp shittasttic bios
probably not
but then do you need to use BIOS for MAC Address ? Why not do it when booted to OS or live Linux distro ?
You can see the hole i cut in the front panel lol
you can partially see the dual fan hole at top
i use sccm to deploy windows over pxe
with everything automated
(and yes, i paid someone to change the front power button and cut the top holes out and paint inside back then a decade and half ago)
certainly had a concept for a theme and cable management (well the best you could do in a case like that)
I had none of those things, my first custom PC in non-handmedown case
and before someone says something about the GPU being in wrong slot - while yes, it was in a higher up slot, it is only x8 instead of x16, so not much harm done
check the little fan i stuck on the chipset
had one on my Socket A board
@pure garnet why tf does my framework 13 only get 2 hours battery life in arch vs like 10 in windows btw
yeah but it came that way, didn't rip it off an old GPU and double sided tape it to the heatsink 😆
you should prob optimize it yourself
ahh, my swans in all their glory
only skill issue exists in the linux realm
lol @steel stream the wallpaper..
did you install tlp or power-profiles-daemon
you can compile the kernel yourself to debloat the system and gives you a better battery life as well
i personally recommend compile everything yourself on linux, this way you can keep only the features you need and debloat the system
ppd
the 30mb of uneeded device drivers is not using hours of power life
wtf are we yapping
Aliexpress selling really weird stuff
i built a kernel for alpine with every single driver enabled on accident and the disk size was stupid but it worked fine
and more imporantly, you need to limit how much power your hardware is drawing
this is like the adult equivalent of a car bed
also im using arch
put on some performance limiter, and profiles for lowering the voltage
arch lol sucks
no shit
i use gentoo btw and arch really doesn't offer much customization
speaking of holy shit @topaz veldt
i tried gento and LFS (linux from scratch) and both offer much better customization
arch is only good for beginners however once you get more advanced, i dont really recommend it
if your using arch, why not just use windows 11
whatever man
dudes just typing to type
"arch is only good for beginners" "just use windows 11"
this kid in insane
says someone who probably never used gentoo and lfs a single day in his life
detached from reality
im inclined to blame your macos theme but try uninstall ppd and moving to tlp
configuring use flags to save disc space is not that interesting
i can image a prefab home arriving in a big amazon cardboard box (from Aliexpress) 😄
i dont usually talk about distro supremacy anymore however arch is made with simplicity in mind and you dont need to compile your kernel and everything yourself
both of these distros he’s trying to flex are both extremely documented and simple to setup if you can read
however personally i believe its quite bloated and fosters bad habits
huh
exactly, gentoo has almost everything well documented
lolll
I simply don't take people seriously that push complexity and how from scratch something is as a benefit. These people don't live on the same plane of existence as normal humans.
and teaches beginners who used to daily drive arch about anything they need to know
@stable turret so why were you on windows 11 when you were flexing your 5800x?
arch is the distro that noobs should learn to use if they want to daily linux
the delta fans only work on windows 11
eh ?
from a beginner point of view, i used to be on the same boat as you, daily driving arch linux
trying to use mint or ubuntu or debian like windows is just not as good of an idea
i would listen to them then
everything works and there isn't much to tinker around for everything to setup properly
i think the designer of that has lost the plot
i used arch for a few years and eventually came to the realization, if the whole purpose of me using linux is for customization
why am i still using arch>?
and then i joined the gentoo community
to quote the goat michael#sexy
if i don’t have a horrible time using niche software on my computer then i feel inferior
ill compeletely nuke my arch install and restart eventually
24 w of powerdraw with just discord open and chrome is high af right?
my personal belief is, every linux distros work, however some of them are just pointless
considering i have a 55 w battery
for a laptop yeah
should be like 6w max
if you want the level of simplicity and user friendly, why not just use windows 11? arch is a beginner distro wannabe and sucks at it compared to the others
and it doesnt offer much customization down the line as well compared to its cousin, gentoo
brother none of us care that you compiled your copy of firefox
it doesn't make you seem cooler at all
i have lots friends using void, nixos however personally i haven't used them significantly thats why i can't recommend them
we can all do it
however you can try them out as well
we just do not care
arch is bad because it didn't take 20 hours of compiling to have the system work just as fine
it doesn't really take any skills to compile anything or set any compile flags
even beginners can do it
mars
im aware since you keep writing
compiling everything for yourself is just a GOOD practice
you know what this sounds like
not much skill is going on in that head
and arch doedsn't help you with the practice
when arch people tell people to switch to linux
thats why i dont recommend arch
fr
and if your using arch (a very simple to use linux distro and wannabe user-friendly), why not just use windows 11 (the literally best desktop operating system) in the world
damn bro just keeps typing
it really serves no point using arch linux with 2 hours of batterylife (since you suck at linux) and not use windows 11
ragebait pro
defeats any purpose of driving linux
nowadays i still use every sorts of linux distros daily personally
im 99% sure it's because of this very jank mac os theme that i installed on it
just vomit for the love of the game
however all of them are only installed on my servers
i stopped sucking for linux a long time ago
you want some dressing for these word salads you keep throwing out?
at least for my desktops
you see back in my day we all compiled our kernels with specific build options!!!!!! these kids nowadays and their perfectly functional prebuilt kernels!!!!!!!
it's not 1995 anymore i can spare the 30mb of spare drivers on my esp that it won't load
back in my day i had to add every transistor onto my cpu
most of them things (not everything) on linux are open-source. its not matter of the theme, but you haven't even customized it yourself (by changing the source code) and recompile it
by hand
back in my day the computers took up ROOMS
you need to have some level of software programming skills to master linux, really
check the spl tier list
ok buddy
i installed this on a ferry cuz i was bored i do not care
its a B + compared to monotech as A-
Damn all the kids using chrome os needs programming skills?
so get the montech
i have changed the source code of many linux programs (to this day that i still use) and compiled them to fit my need, and i believe this is the proper way to use linux
ok did you commit any of your fixes?
the same philosophy applies to macos, not everything to use very polished operating systems need to learn programming
plus its 10 dollar cheaper
he changed the readme probably
10 dollars is nothing bro
get the a tier unit
just some of them, since they are not optimized for everything but tailor designed for my own need
what do you look for in power supply other and wattage and ratings
ok prove it
sometimes i need more features for my particular use cases
i dont need to prove anything lol
yeah huh keep talking buddy
fan type i guess
although i can throw out my github page but i d rather not
uh huh
just post it
lol
people have 1.8 and 1.6v daily’s, i’ve put more than that into my own sticks. make sure cpu vddq is manually set
you've talked all this game
i can provide a screenshot just in case
however you would want more until i post my github profile
which shows my person info, my univeristy
and my linkedin page
so id rather not dox myself here
been running this whole time
however if you really wanna debug or use some helps with your archlinux
Seems bf6 has all sorts of bugs that are gpu dependent reading through some others posts
LTT here is not the best place
most people here dont have the necessary knowledge to answer your question
ok buddy
i recommend gentoo and arch discord servers for you and they offer quite lower barrier of entry
why would i go to the gentoo discord to fix an arch problem???
all linux distros are not that much of a difference in general
also arch forums
once you get to my level, you would understand
@merry stirrup my d2d oc still dies in sleep mode
once your more advanced, you can start using IRC to join more communities
can you check yours at some point
Hi everyone, I have the following setup: MOBO: MSI pro b 660a ddr4 CPU: Intel i3‑12100 RAM: 2×8 GB 3200 cl16 Kingston Fury KF3200C16D4/8GX Memory IC / Die: Hynix C‑Die Manufacture date: Week 24 / Year 2022 GPU: GTX 1070 i wanna test these 3 ram profiles for improved latency in valorant. Are they ...
p95 passes fine, sleep, resume, p95 fails
i didn’t know this was a possibility
also time to go, to grab my supper
thank god
already 3:22 AM now in mainland china
this is 4ghz d2d .95 vnnaon
yeah im back to 30 at auto
you may be on to something
did yours crash
my pc froze before i could open ycruncher
okay so it’s not just me
nice once
DoooOoom
i never sleep anyways i don’t really know if im going to care about this
let me see when it stops doing it
it might be related to the voltage more than the clock
for me it did it even at 0.85v
i was getting occasional cold boot issues at 0.87 so
hey kyoko how many packages do you have
like 800ish iirc
okay trying 34/36
ultimate d2d test is just going to sleep this is incredible
so that mac os theme is like 700 packages by itself
considering the only thing i've changed since then was adding spotify and i was like at 300 something before that
and now im at 1000
so far it's lived longer
get those numbers up
BRO
what
you having issues makes me less sad about mine though
do i just nuke my entire install or what
okay time to wake up
froze again
yeah i’m going to be real idk if i sleep enough for -400mhz+ to be worth it
i should make a post on ocn about it
maybe there’s a secondary voltage that we don’t set?
maybe. it seems that this freeze also causes the cold boot bug for me
i’m thinking it’s voltage related if it didn’t change w/clock
it stops at 30d2d for me
so that's why i've been dailying that
because i use sleep mode on the regular
going down to 32/34 and seeing
@topaz veldt do you use sleep on your 285k pc at all?
isn't kinda like how some am4 motherboards can't go past 3600 without sleep issues
i don’t think so i think this is more of a cpu sided problem
dropping d2d is always what fixes it for me
the board is definitely not the problem (unless we figure out its ocf only) but idk
it happened on master too
anyways back on windows and im using a whole 5ws
My old 5600x and x570 ran at 3800 cl16 but my new 5700x3d didn't like that
