I have tried following several guides like changing dns, disabling ipv6, restarting, disabling power saving mode, nothing works. Any ideas?

@merry stirrup The Xeon 1265L V2 Works in the AllinOne, allthough it seems to lock it to around 25 Watts internally and only 2,8Ghz Multicore. Considering the 3,5GHz Singlecoreboost, it should at least be around 3,2GHz

Neat. Yeah Ive got an all in one PC for cheap but it only came with an i5 3470T wich is a dualcore, also 35W tdp. So I wanted to upgrade it. I wanted to get a i7 3770T with 45W TDP but that one's expensive (50€+) so eventually I found the 1265L V2 which is basically the same CPU with 200mhz less clock and a weaker iGPU. But it cost me only 20€. So win win I guess

obviously i won't throw it out, but probably just an offline backup might be it's duty. 6TB drive is not really a spare for 16-18TB drives, but it's enough for ~1TB of File History/Time Machine folders which right now gets copied over every day to backup NAS

edgy laurel
merry stirrup
#

we built this crazy board with insane polwer delivery only for you to limit it by giving it only 45w to 65w

green marsh
#

so you can pick either 19V DC or 12VATX, the intel standard ?

merry stirrup
#

😭

devout ridge
#

i would be fine with 12VATX if more stuff supported it

green marsh
#

atx12vo is the standard

devout ridge
#

the only issue with 12vATX, is that not enough uses 12vATX

merry stirrup
#

and that it puts costs onto motherboard manus

#

which psus are already cheap enough, high end motherboards are not

devout ridge
#

idc, death to 24pin

#

my fingers hurt just thinking about it

merry stirrup
#

whats wrong with the 24 pin

green marsh
#

switching to another topic, i still can't wrap my head around the idea of "cloth" phone cases

devout ridge
#

it's such a pain to insert and remove

merry stirrup
#

ive only noticed the 24 pin taking herculean strength on shittier boards likely with worse tolerances

edgy laurel
topaz veldt
merry stirrup
#

on my edge its really not that hard

green marsh
topaz veldt
merry stirrup
devout ridge
edgy laurel
#

I'm totally in for a nice cloth case

devout ridge
#

also 12v to 5v is not a hard conversion to have a lil module for

merry stirrup
#

the boards have to do that and then they break out sata power via a 4 pin or something

devout ridge
#

you don't need much power for the 5v rail

green marsh
# devout ridge buck converter

you are moving the power curcuitry for that to board, plus if you want more hard drives, you are running into the limits

topaz veldt
merry stirrup
#

yes

#

tons of oem stuff has had it

merry stirrup
#

well then get ready for more pins

topaz veldt
#

what do you mean

green marsh
devout ridge
#

no 5v for the mobo though, it can cope

merry stirrup
devout ridge
#

we just need to also switch drives to 12v as well, problem solved /hj

merry stirrup
#

i mean just abandon sata all together

#

👍

topaz veldt
#

yeah SATA should be gone zo

devout ridge
#

the only issue with switching is that switching in general sucks

#

really the only reason to keep sata is cause it's already so prevalent

merry stirrup
#

for anything but mass storage requirement i agree no reason for anyone to have a spinning rust drive

#

and if you have a sata ssd but a computer with an nvme slot, you did it wrong

# steel stream resin printing is awesome

I saw a picture of someone who fucked up when resin printing.

They cleaned/ re-lined their vat, and then printed.

Only they forgot to re-secure the vat to the base, so it raised with the print bed

what's does mt/s and cl30 stand for?

frank zealot

Mega Transfers per Second
CAS Latency

devout ridge
#

megatransfers per second, basically how much data can be sent per second, cas latency is essentially the time between when the cpu requests info, and when it gets it

#

thing of cas latency as ping, and mt/s as your bandwidth or mbps

ripe flicker
#

what if I can't afford 32 gb ram would it be fine if I would go for 16?

devout ridge
#

yes, but you won’t save much

frank zealot
#

If you do 16, get one stick, and add a second later.
(one stick hurts DDR5 way less than it did in DDR4)

devout ridge
#

if you go that route, try to use a common brand so you can match it again in future

ripe flicker
devout ridge
#

Depends a lot on the GPU

frank zealot
#

do not try to do 4 sticks in DDR5, it gets cranky

devout ridge
#

gpu is gonna be most of your power draw

you have gpus that use 60w, or 600w

edgy laurel

and do not buy a 2x8GB kit

and I don't see myself upgrading my gpu

frank zealot
devout ridge

Best bet is to throw all your parts in pcpartpicker, look at the recommended wattage, and go up a bit from that

youd probably be good with a like 600w+ id guess

a good rule of thumb is 10-20% more than what is strictly required, round up to the closest 50w
