Nvidia's memory systems are just goated, it's nuts, and it's not like AMD is bad either, it's just... so peak

Look at that indiana jones benchmark above, it's insanely impressive from a microarchitectural POV to see that the 4070TiS is roughly ~15% behind the 4080S. The only difference between the two is that the 4070TiS has a binned core. The fact that the binned core is what reduced performance implies that the core is the bottlenecked, not the VRAM.

THAT'S INSANE??? like the 4080S is bigger than any AMD GPU ever made. The 7900XTX used a memory bus much larger than the 4080S, and that thing was choking hard on the VRAM bandwidth. And yet here, the 4080S casually smokes it, in a VRAM-heavy benchmark no less, and it's not even the VRAM that's limiting the 4080S in this case. They might deadass be able to slap a 4090 on a 16GB bus and have it not bottleneck. I have no idea how they do it apart from "some crazy shader prefetching BS"

mehhh, not so much it's weirder than that. GPUs have had matrix extensions since literally the 90s (first real example was Cray in the 80s), the only recent innovation was that Nvidia moved them outside the shader and beefed them up for neural net stuff. The more important thing is that Nvidia does their "19-bit intermediate float" stuff, and Nvidia has some very wacky extensions that allow the matrix units to skip zeros, DMA, and saturate a really deep pipeline, to really get the most out of not many transistors

eg: one of the many differences is that AMD matrix units have different configurations for each type of number storage (fp32, fp16, fp8/4, int8/6/4/3, etc). Nvidia GPUs simply have one kind of matrix unit that operates with 19-bit floats, and it converts every single number into fp19 before processing, which lets them keep it smaller (although it stresses out the converters ofc)

This is partly because the matrix units are still used for 3D gaming on AMD, and AMD doesn't want to mess up gamers by changing it too much and causing bugs (remember that AMD also makes the playstation/xbox), whereas Nvidia doesn't give a fuck

If this is the gpu causing issues with your display that you posted in support. Yes, your psu is garbage and is not suitable to run a 12700k and 6950xt. You’ve probably damaged the psu and or components. Max load you’re probably hitting 500w and spikes will damage that garbage psu. It may Corsair, but it’s garbage tier corsair
