I basically bought this OLED because i wanted an accurate monitor that can do Display P3 okay-ish or so i thought without shelling out £1000+. Everything about it from its stupid RGB lights to its stand to its crappy accuracy makes me wish I just spent more money on a non-gamer monitor considering I play what, CSGO rarely, and usually just casual games.

You're trying to remove the wrong side

the small side onto the motherboard stays (it's a fragile connector), you want to remove the large black piece plugging into the drive itself

Please don't try and remove the blue ribbon cable, it is extremely easy to permanently damage

Yeah, that's why the industry almost entirely moved away from HDDs in laptops

It could be entirely fine for years to come, or it could die tomorrow, only way to get insight into it is to run a smart test

Though the smart test isn't an end all be all, it can't really measure degradation to the motor and other bearings and whatnot

Just be aware, don't store anything on the drive that you wouldn't be willing to lose

when you clean something make sure to use something soft and flexible, even if whatever you're using to clean let's say a monitor panel is softer, if a spec of something harder than the monitor gets inbetween the panel and thing you'll scratch your monitor. when cleaning components from paste, grease use isopropyl, if your region has frequent power outages or brownouts use ups good quality one ofc at set price point.
