Only if its a V1 switch otherwise you need to solder on a modchip and yeah Nintendo can and will ban you but if yuou mainly play single player games it isn't a big deal

Only thing that really worked for me kinda was using macs fan control, i kept the speed manually at ~3200rpm all the time which isn't loud so it won't get hot enough at low speeds that it needs to max the speed

@frigid topaz so practically you wanna use oclp to manually install a new version of macos on older unsupported macs, and you can install any macos technically, but beware that the newer you go the worse it gets for the laptop, since newer os's are heavier and heavier. Also, they do make thermals worse as unsupported OS's take a heavier toll on the older, weaker hardware. For context, your mbp supports up to macos catalina or macos bigsur (late 2013 is big sur, early 2013 catalina, big sur is a complete OVERHAUL of macos), so you should be able to run monterey fine

Tbh you don't simply just look at how long it takes to be able to move a picture in photoshop and count manually to decide which is faster. It has to consider a broader use case and consider everything overall.

Idk if they kept it plugged in or not, but with Windows laptops you need to keep it plugged in to get the max performance out of it (except if you have the ARM laptops, but Linus did not use those for the demo)

My understanding is that ARM processors do not need to be throttled when on battery to save performance. So if you are comparing ARM windows and ARM macs, then you can keep it unplugged for the testing.

My 4080Super worked fine in my PC, however, my 5080 is not, it’s lagging, causing random reboots (doesn’t even have to be in a game) and I’m out of options.

I’ve reseated it, I’ve done DDU and reinstalled drivers, my motherboard has the latest BIOS and I have a RM1000e PSU.

This is even the second card as I’ve had it replaced thinking it was a faulty card.

So i found this HP Elite Desk and will buy it . Currrently i run proxmox with VM and passthrough Truenas VM for file server and thinking i want to move my Truenas to dedicated so it would be the HP Elite Desk 800 G3 but it has 4 ram slot which can be up to 64 Gb ram . I have 2 8 GB Spare ram so i think i can go 46 GB total if i want and use it as proxmox instead to have more ram but it cant run up to 3200 MHz as per spec sheet now i have delima of using the ryzen 5 4500 as Truenas but that 6 core and 12 thread would not be worth . Any idea for better setup ? Or i can sell this ryzen 5 4500 cpu and ram and buy another hp elite pro ? or lower specs for truenas ?

at xmp most 2x24GB kits will be runing like 10% of time on refesh vs around 7.5% on 2x16GB unless the xmp has it set lower but they dont list that on the xmp timings

the sub timings the same but allso x16 ram by spec runs them way worse aswel

I was thinking an RTX 5070, but iirc that bottlenecks at 1080p with gaming. Is that an issue? Or should I go for the cheaper 5060Ti 16GB instead?
