should have a similar form factor to your existing one

might have to cut a hole for the second one to mount

those Apevia units are okay enough, FSP is the main brand in those sorts of things but flex is generally an enterprise form factor so one of those may just actually drop in with no hassle

Im thinking of maybe just splitting the AIO connector for the drives so I can use just the power side and run data cables to a new HBA. But I will try running a fan on it first.

Or maybe even split the one standard power cable lead I have going to my SSD to the missing two drive spots I have and run the data directly to the motherboard. I don't know if that will work, just coming up with ideas haha

The current HBA is also apparently incompatible with 4Kn format, and a lot of people have been saying they have been having trouble with anything not before SATA 3.3. I'm tempted to order another drive to test 512e and see if that was my issue. But that's a risky gamble.

I even turned an old scrap e-waste PC from a school into something that has purpose

Bought the PC off Facebook Marketplace for $15 with no drive or RAM. OEM board is BIOS-locked and only supports pre-Ryzen AM4 chips so I got an A12-9800 for it. Friend sold me 16gb of DDR4 and a 256gb SATA SSD for cheap, and I slapped Linux Mint onto it. Installed an old Quadro as a 4K display adapter (bc the APU's graphics chip sucks ass even for 1080p encoding), and now the PC is my TV room entertainment steam box thing

There's just something so fulfilling to me about a useless pile of ultimate e-waste actually being used for something purposeful
