i was looking for monitors with integrated psu but i never found any, so assumed it was either regulated out of the industry, or some weird design choise, it's such a huge bother that still don't agree with it, much better to make room inside the monitor, if the wall-brick will be too big to fit next to other plugs.

What is the exact make / model of USB you have? If it's an off brand / fake / or was super cheap, it's possible it doesn't even have the capacity it claims to have. And also, what @tired bear said - lots of USB flash drives use the cheapest of the cheap NAND flash. Even one's from reputable brands. It's why some 128GB drives are $20 and others are $60.

Of course. You boot from a Live USB, then choose the install option, then install to whatever internal drive you want. Just be aware that trying to dual boot is ... fun because of how Windows and Linux bootloaders like to fight / overwrite each other. I recommend physically unplugging your Windows drive when you want to use the Linux drive, and vice versa. Annoying? Yes. But it avoids unnecessary problems.
