Learn from Google regarding the aesthetics and implementation in any Operating System. Their implementation has been solid.
they can't say no if the upper management forces them to do it
isnt that a good thing?
Debated adding the kekw
Honestly, AI is quite useful. But the implementation has to be nice
lmao
Remember bard?
true, copilot if you look at it has good planning but bad execution, really feels like someone is forcing you.
No
I don't think I've ever even tried using copilot
The thing is, copilot is not needed everywhere. It has to be a different kind of integration. The new Notepad has "Writing tools" instead of Copilot. That's much better. What is the need of a "copilot" in a Notepad? Tools to improve text is fine. But Copilot?
Copilot in VS code is so damn useful. Helps me skip a lot of lines while typing code.
That's a good implementation. IT integrates so damn well into VS Code and works perfectly.
If I wanted an AI text editor I'd be using Zen
Not that its on windows yet but
You can turn it off in settings. It's just one tap
i mean yeah you got me there
well yea I use claude code
just not specifically copilot
i use cline
The fact I have to and it isnt a windows setting globally kinda peeves me
What I also meant by "Learn from Google":
Google recently added the "Ask Gemini" button to Chrome. But just right click it, and the option to unpin it is right there.
For Edge, turning it off will take you to the settings. From the settings, you need to have 2 more clicks to turn it off. That sucks. It should be one click turn off.
At least in Firefox its a global setting. And one slider
well, for the first time in 10 years I have switched teams from green to red. I purchased a 9700xt today and I will be glad to finally leave this mess that nvidia has created recently.
Notepad is an app in MS Store now, so it makes sense why it has a separate settings.
It also has more features like auto save, tabs, etc. So having a settings makes sense ig
Norway??? Ayo??
But its literally a fucking Microsoft product, I don't have to set dark mode for every app

no but you can if you choose to
maybe hot take but personally I don't really see that big of an issue with some AI button/tab in things as long as I can just easily and intuitively disable it, never to be seen again
If I hadn't JUST bought a laptop a month or two ago... gruh
You have all these settings. You cannot put them in Windows settings
Hell dark mode applies in all apps under LINUX and Microsoft can't do this for their settings and logins?
Uhh it happens automatically for all apps. But if you want to change that and make it independent, you can
AI?
I mean the independence is a given there if there isn't a global windows setting for it
huh? I definitely don't want the global settings app to contain settings of every application. settings page for an application being within that application makes infinitely more sense to me
You can uninstall the copilot app and it will never disturb you. For AI buttons within apps, you can turn it off within the settings, or just never use them. It doesn't activate unless you specifically ask it to turn on.
I mean for Microsoft products specifically. And the copilot features.
dark mode is a global setting because it's basically part of your system theme, it's not really application setting (unless you want to override per application)
OOF, if I wanted to match my current laptop specs (I'll give it to them, the processor would be better) the price for a framework 16 inch would be over DOUBLE what my similarly specced laptop cost...
Definitely understand there's some premium and I got a good deal on my laptop but stiiiiill.... that was steeper than I anticipated
That's where Microsoft has gone wrong with the branding. All copilot is not entirely copilot. That's the confusion.
Within a notepad, the AI Copilot is for generating text, correcting grammar, shortening or lengthening text, improving the style, etc
The copilot app is for the Copilot chatbot.
There's a lot of new features, so it makes sense to have it per app. I dont want AI inside Notepad, but I want it inside VS code.
anything with the capabilities you mentioned is going to be MUCH more comfortable to use if you can give any of these instructions in freeform text, which already makes it a chatbot anyway
Which is fair. I just want it to opt out in all apps by default with said theoretical windows setting. Allow turning on per app of course but
for example the coding assistants ARE chatbots, just with integrations to do stuff with your code directly
well yeah but having these settings is also useful (for people that use it)
wats the safe websites to get windows license at?
i think winkeys, im not sure though
One thing they need to do is probably add a question when you open it for the first time "Do you want the writing tools to be enabled"
you can get keys for free
are they? the underlying LLM can handle nuance from the text input, so it can essentially do a thousand different things to your text if you ask it. limiting it to a few predefined prompts is quite restrictive
Hell I'd accept that tbh. Especially if they clarify what it does in the same prompt
yea and they should also add a little grey text saying "This option can be changed later in settings"
if you only have these and one of them doesn't do exactly what you want, with text input you can just describe in a sentence what you want it to do differently. if all you have is predefined prompts, you're SOL
True
It would be good to have Both ig
I haven't used the AI features yet, so idk if a textbox exists or not
But it's nice to have them if I need it
yea both would be fine, especially if they use the same context so you can go to text input and that part knows what it just did before from a button press
maybe what they should do is that when a user first launches copilot, then get a box which they can say how they want their ai to be, makes it more personalized
I just don't want to feel like its even present for me ootb.
"Respond like Michael Scott all the time"
"call me master"
You can uninstall it easily. I wouldn't complain about that much yk
It's like one click
like how they would like it to be, how chatgpt gives you the option in settings to be for eg. "give straightforward answers"
Jonsbo N5 case, says it's Micro-ATX but supports ATX PSU. So safe to assume that means my silly ass needs to buy a micro ATX motherboard if I want to use it? :/ Maybe a Fractal 7XL is better for me then after all? Building sort of hybrid NAS/Server thingy
is micro-atx the max it supports or what?
well yea generally if it says it's micro-atx, that means it doesn't fit ATX
at least in terms of motherboard
It says so on the page but when I filter on the website it still shows the N5 so I'm a little confused, can't seem to find some proper info on it'
you could check if it gives exact supported motherboard dimensions there
and compare those to ATX standard size
Like when I google I find even eATX supported so I'm getting conflicting info
because EATX is not a standard per se, it's just a catch-all term for "anything bigger than ATX"
go to a tech reviewer or smth, you can visually grasp the size ig
Ok so on a review I'm finding EATX, ATX, Mini-ATX, Micro-ATX
someone had a nas upgrade with the n5; idk if it was plouffe recently or the latest AMD ultimate tech upgrade winner, but you should be able to get some solid reliable info from that video
Yeah that's main reason I'm looking at it
I guess I'll rewatch the video ty for reminder
eatx technically doesn't exist but it's been used as generalized term for any mobo over the size of atx
damn, he used mATX, so that gives me no useful info lol
Is it possible to get a chip replacement from intel even if Ive got the cpu from my mates prebuilt?
the n5 is an atx case, it's the n3/n4 that's micro atx
if he used mATX, did it fill the whole case or did it fill 3/4 or smth
Shits just constantly playing up, massive fps drops, crashes, freezes
maybe if its under warranty
from the manufacturer's website it says upto eatx; my two cents is trust the manufacturer's website and then return it if it doesn't fit
speeding through to see
if it's in the n5, no it won't, ther's going to be a fair bit of space left over
yeah thats what i was going for
yep yep seems to be the case (heh)
I think I checked before, I dont think it is. It's 14700f and from what I can find it seems to be a known issue with mirco-code apparently.
if you have the receipt then yeah probably
this is what it would be like using matx in the n5
if you was to use an atx instead it would be like this
i mean, check intel's website for a replacement for this issue, they would probably provide a new one, otherwise if it isnt under warranty or not under any repair program then you have some bad luck
yeah 'round 3/4
"eatx support" which actually is ssi-eeb/ssi-ecb
Where specifically can I find that on their site? Havent had to try get a replacement before.
just search, "intel 14th gen micro-code repair program" or something along those lines ig.
@sinful cobalt new tables are done until I get cable management racks and stuff
you're not really saving anything going matx with the n5 tbh, the extra slots will be more helpful with an atx board and using a hba board or a few sata expansion boards instead
i have a working monitor but not working VRR
yeah, specially with a nas if your mobo doesnt have much nvme ports or sata ports you can connect pcie expansion cards
are all IronWolf Pro NT filled with Helium or whatever these days? Like if I buy 4x 8TB instead of 2x 16TB? I just seem to recall reading something about a 10tb and up thing
whats vrr
obviously im some tech genius but just for the people unaware in this channel
gsync/freesync "Variable Refresh Rate"
ah
that would be dealt with any bios updates for the mobo you're using tbh, and the ones that was affected really was cpu's with a tdp higher than 65w
Having a cheap-ish tablet to have as a "control panel" for a home server/plex/NAS, useful?
ive been having some issues with windows, when starting it doesnt let me click any apps until i do ctrl + shift + esc to then restart explorer, is it just windows or is there smth really wrong
probably, if its touchscreen and has hdmi
I just thought maybe it's useful to have something like that that can just be nearby the physical server for sort of "quick access/checkup"
afaik, they should be, also the tablet would be more for remote access which if you're using the likes of truenas/proxmox or similar, has a web access gui @placid citrus
HDMI? I mean it would be connected over internet I would assume
yeah definitely remote but like, physically close
i thought he meant something connected to the computer directly as a gui type os
not needed, you can run many nas's and servers headless
ahh yeah no it'd be headless as rauko said
you can still use it for the web frontend though
not needed, quite literally has a web page gui
the only case I'd consider actually having GUI and stuff setup is if I want to also use it as a living room gaming couch gaming thing
but there's no need for it to be connected
oh
Which might be part of the plan but that's for future me to figure out
wait i think then i can convert my old chromebook to a server
plex has web gui, truenas too as rauko said, literally just a "control panel" dedicated device or something idk
just a thought that popped up
server, sure, but for NAS I doubt it has sufficient IO
yeah, it only has 2 usb ports
for a nas or server you can either ssh in to access it, or use a web access/page gui
proxmox and hexos also tbh
web ui for IPMI kind of stuff is pretty cool, wish more boards had that
updating BIOS by drag&drop of the bios image into a web ui is pretty convenient
If I wanted to use the system as both a living room couch gaming thing but also NAS/Plex server, do you have any recommendations or maybe a "don't do that"? I have a 4070 that's gonna just sorta be left over if I don't put it in there. Planning to put either 5600X or 5800X in as CPU
charge your tv is probably a phrase i have never heard
depends on your budget really
also looking at 8TB IronWolf Pro NT as they seem the best price per GB without going as high as 24/28TB which would be way too expensive for enough drives for data parity and such
nope i have not
Well the budget is I have everything except case and HDDs, the CPUs and motherboards I already have, as well as boot drive and the GPU
definitely don't do that, it be wiser to have the nas/plex server separate from any gaming use
for hdds i suggest some wd red plus or seagate, their reliable, specially for a nas
but yea for NAS you want to focus on stability. I can't think of a solution that would work well for both NAS and gaming purposes at the same time
you can make use of remote gaming when it comes to steam for example, there's also remote pc access via proxmox and other bits
new pixel 9, set battery limit to 80, worked for a day, now its charged up to full
or you can use sunlight and moonlight to stream from your main pc if you have one
i can, but that means remoting in to the gaming pc
No clue what the problem is then. Before I updated bios a couple days ago I was getting auzio buzzing / freezing and crashes on stuff resulting in powering off/on to fix. I havent had one since bios update (yet 🤞 ) but getting frame drops in games now that I shouldnt be getting them in at all
I've encountered battery powered monitors before, but I don't think I've seen battery-powered TVs 🤔 I'm sure it is a niche that exists but definitely not something you'd necessarily encounter by keeping up with tech
But as far as I can remember, before swapped to the 14700F from the 13600K I didnt have these problems.
you might find the frame drops happen because some kind of background program/task load up happening, which sometimes can be sorted with a few command line tweaks
afaik nothing is open
I mean I got the 14700f off my mate for 150 and sold the 13600k for like 165
anything "open" is a foreground program, not background
I see I see. Would it be useful to still have a dGPU like the 4070 for the PLEX part of the server or is the 5600X or 5800X enough for the transcoding or whatever? I've only ever run the plex media server on my gaming PC before so never given it any thought
14700 is a bit better than the 13600
I mean I researched and I was under the influence that it is better.
Yeah I'm looking at 8TB IronWolf Pro NT, best GB per currency before going as high as 20TB which would be way overkill and too costly since I'd want at least 4-6 or even 8 drives total for RAID/Redundancy
I didnt just upgrade because it's an "i7"
if you've paid for plex, then yes, it's way better for the transcode, but tbh you could just use 10/20 series nvidia for that instead, hell even 30 series nvida if you want something newer
Worthwhile doing?
it can be yes, some of it can sort out micro-stutters that happen
Even to the point where it's worth just selling that 4070 and buying that 10/20 series? I have wanted to acquire a 1080ti founders just for a collection piece so.... yeah?
What do I need to do?
14700f not 14700
@sinful cobalt now my 3rd monitor isnt connecting gg time to get the oled
alot of googling tbh, or wait a bit and i can dm a list of some command lines you can use, there's also some registry tweaks that could help
Yeah sounds good 🫡
Still need to decide whether I use the 5600X or 5800X for the server, then... I guess I could list both for sale and keep whichever isn't sold first
5600x me thinks
it feels more power efficient (dont quote me on this im talking out of my ass)
because you plan for plex, the 5800x
Ty, will do
eh, not really, around the same power draw as the 5800x would be
people see the tdp and assume that's what power it uses, it's not
So, 1080ti, 5800X, 32GB 3200MT/s, forgor MOBO, Jonsbo N5, 4-8x 8TB IronWolf PRO NT, sounds pretty good. 650wPSu enough surely?
i would suggest using jellyfin instead of plex personally, especially with the extras you can run for it
nvm I have a 650W
people are also comparing X vs Y at max load. when for efficiency for a given task, you'd have to compare them at the same load
sounds good to me, but like i said, for anything newer, don't need to go above 30 series for plex/jellyfin
I'll keep that in mind, Plex only because that's what I've already used but I'm open to alternatives and have heard of jellyfin before and considered but not looked deep into it
radarr/sonarr/seerr are some of the extras you can run alongside jellyfin
Me every time I see intel pushing 10-15% at 220w+ vs amd at 170w
I think looking more into software has to be a later project when I have the system built tbh, too much to plan ahead right now
annoying to setup though, also should use a VPN
I do appreciate the enthusiasm
gives you a good chunk more functionality over plex, even intergrating the ability to download films/tv series on the go
Mullvad my GOAT I will do this too if I recall
could just send a docker compose
if you’re downloading erm, linux iso’s you basically need a vpn
some isps don’t care but still risky business
I looked into the arr stack at some point but I'm way too opinionated on how I want to organize and choose things to ever use it
dw I keep my Linux ISOs out of the prying eyes of ISPs, connected to VPN even on my laptop
well, america for sure vpn it all, elsewhere in the world, it's a coin flip
i hate this cable turns out
it’s not that bad
they are bitchy where I live I've heard but not like HUGE on it either
better safe than sorry
my arr stack pretty goated especially since i have 8 users on my setup
all the wires are twisted together and when i try to untwist them they break off
no manual user requests (contacting me) and i don’t have to find them
im using this, no seer cause just me and my brother and no flaresolver cause idk how to get it to work
flare solver pretty easy
+jfin in a separate ubuntu instance+proxmox+truenas in proxmox for share
i just moved 2 tables into my room
nice
Not sure why everyone just doesn’t buy these
20,000 mAh is like so much
powerbanks, yes people buy them
sometimes u dont want 20,000mAh because they are so big and bulky
True it’s definitely bulky
i have a 20k in my tech pouch and a smaller 5k magsafe one in case i need it
I bring a fully charged 20000mAh with me at all times unless I'm on foot without a backpack
nice speakers
I had another one that was 20,000 mAh and it was all metal and it was even more bulky
Well more heavy
thanks someone recommended them to me i wonder who it was
one downside to these new tables is somehow my 3rd monitor isnt being detected anymore
What the hell there’s a 50,000 mAh portable charger too
ah damn that sucks
Two USB-A ports and one USB-C port
its an excuse to upgrade my main monitor
real
if this is still here in like 3 months im getting it
what model is that
ah. I have audioengine a2+ which look kinda similar
hold on they do look similar
I think this system is completely fucked
Loaded a project in FL Studio and it's just struggling to run it entirely when before it was flawless
So not actually sure what my options are.
i have an anker ones with about the same mAh battery but also has something like a 65w PD
lmao I got scammed and that RX 580 died
SO
im not giving up on my armor OC 580. The Armor OC and GAMING X 580 have the exact same PCB so if I swap the gaming X's thermal components such as the cooling plate and tha acellero III onto it in theory the VRMs shouldnt overheat much
@rigid fjord Is it possible to pinpoint what may be the problem on my system? Super stressful that I havent been able to figure it out.. If it's the cpu then Im more than happy to go replace it but Im just confused as fuck
reinstall windows
Seems annoying. I dont wanna lose the shit Ive got on here
backup your data
Tried once before and it indeed did not work and I lost everything
replace thermal paste if its old and crusty your CPU might just be suffering
also was it a sudden drop or was it gradual
Its new-ish (to me), I bought it off my mate a few months back. Thoguh when he had it he had problems too, like it was running super hot
it's possible, but a long list you can work through til you find out the exact point
before it was crashes / freezes (like the audio was buzz and screen freeze), I havent had it since I updated bios but now getting frame drops in roblox out of all things (20-30fps from 200++), and then when I was trying to run an FL project, that was just running like complete ass
this in itself could be the main issue, it could be slightly degraded
I mean could possibly have been a shitty chip to begin with? He had a pretty decent cooler. He was using a noctua cooler that was like £60+, cant remember the model of it.
But his chip was getting quite hot even with that, playing cod on low-mid graphics
I havent noticed hot temps when checking so not sure
14700f
I misread LOL
Ah lol
one thing to check first then, power draw and thermals when under a good load
whats the cooling solution
Mine currently?
what cooling does it have is it like a big air? aio? small air?
thermalright peerless assassin
Was fine on my 13600k
So cant imagine it should be an issue for this chip
I forget what F stands for. But if in bios you can disable multicore enhancement you'll save 10c ish and maybe lose 5% max performance
means no igpu
Tempted to just buy a 13600k back or some shit and get rid of this garbage
WOW this acellero cooler with the gaming x face plate is working wonders
1366MHz core 1750MHz vRAM, 44 degrees, before with the stock cooler the vBIOS would crash for saftey
12000-14000 series intel are pretty wicked
But yeah they come oob pretty toasty
A few tech heads have been preaching it should be disabled by default, but tbf it is technically within its 95c tdp. So I get why mobo manufacturers dont
Any recs what I can really do in this situation? Pretty sure Ive done all the updates I can on gpu / bios
Cant imagine its a gpu issue anyway
This 1 setting
tbh, 14th gen just ain't worth it
Once set to disabled in bios save and quit
Or drop watts by 40 easy cooling not alot of loss
It's recent issues though which is why Im confused. I had the chip for months with no problems
Its just a recent issue like last 6 weeks ish
On pl1 and pl2*
So those 2 options or well can also limit to a set thermal point like 85 or 75 in bios and itll throttle itself
So 3 options
any 1 option should do
I dont think thermals are the problem
My mistake i only came in here at this point
If a new cooler check for the plastic on the copper. Ill backread
Can yall help me find the right pads to short to clear the cmos?
For the life of me i cant figure out which ones is it
Nah my thing is fine
Plastic always off
Your battery appears to be out ❤️
Just loaded that said project that wasnt working afew mins ago again and it worked fine this time
Its clearing rn, need to put the battery back in to its plastic lock mechanism carefully at an angle you'll see the 2032 battery*. Then upon boot memory training/cpu configuration myte take 5 minutes or so
So Im just baffled why one moment it works then the next its being stupid as fuck
"I have no clue how people get so easily scammed on ebay is it not that hard to check shit"
-general chuckles
im glad i remember that
It's not a very good example of humanity when this is one of the top searches.
none of the pads there, it will be a specific 2 pin header on the mobo
also fuck you warshit
Figured it out already, gigabyte wont show the schematic on their website and god knows they are too greedy to just put a manual for that kind of stuff in the box
ffs, no it's not duplicating you fucking idiot bot
the funny thing is I did check it
scammed was a strong word
Whats this 😬
memory mitigation, can help with some issues
there's even command line codes to do tweaks for amd or nvidia gpu's
I never buy from somone with 0 listings/reviews unless its clearly a real person and item
And never from China cause they getcha on the they accept returns
But the post office is gonna charge a leg so if its faulty or inaccurate your burnt
first part of this is for registry editior, second part is the same but as a power shell command line
@formal sonnet iknow you said about setting your page file up to be 1gb minimum with up to half you total ram amount as the max
this is a powershell line command to do the same, just would need to change the max size
powershell "Disable-MMAgent -MemoryCompression"
wmic computersystem where name="%computername%" set AutomaticManagedPagefile=False
wmic pagefileset where name="C:\\pagefile.sys" set InitialSize=1024,MaximumSize=32768
powershell "Get-NetAdapter -IncludeHidden | Set-NetIPInterface -WeakHostSend Enabled -WeakHostReceive Enabled -ErrorAction SilentlyContinue"
netsh winsock set autotuning on
bcdedit /set disableelamdrivers Yes
If you have the extra ram space not being utuilised cant hurt. Increments of 2mb per hugepage, keeping a few gigs free for the os (1GB is 1000MB)
yea I wouldn't run like a million line of config changes you don't exactly know what they do
true, but you can have it set to run alongside the ram you have already with the pagefile, as that's where windows essentially holds info for programs that's been closed down and in anticipation of you re-opening said program again
Glad you asked dawg
ding ding ding what about cmos or does that go under cache
cmos, bios and a crapton of firmware storage chips
like how deep are we going
Well yes, I'm just surprised that there's a question like this
essentially cache
yeah that's what I was kinda thinking, but bios is a good point
I wouldn't call CMOS a cache
though it's an eeprom that gets updated
CMOS keeps configuration. configuration storage is almost never considered cache
add it to the list then I suppose, cmos, bios, hdd, ssd, optical, ram, firmware storage chips
I might finally be able to learn about RAID storage
whooo
Was always curious, but too lazy to look into it
closer to an mcu for cmos
What's the m? Guessing CU stands for control unit?
that's just an array of drives as a storage set in specific ways and amounts
micro/mini
Still don't understand what that means 😭
Ah
raid = redundant array of individual drives if memory is correct
multiple physical drives combined to be used as if they were a single drive
so a collection of drives set in a specific way to act as a single storage point
Computer Science is my thing, but last year during my Cambridge IGCSE (not really IGCSE, it was GCE) exams, I managed to get 15 free marks even though I didn't answer that one question lol
there's also jbod, but that's Just a Bunch Of Drives of random sizes combined together as a single storage space
Ohhh
That's cool
though paradoxically, RAID0 does not provide the R part
Is it possible to do that with NVMe M.2s?
yeah, it's essentially the dumbest one in raid terms
yes
only optical/removable media you'd never set up jbod/raid with
I guess that's what the 0 is saying idk lol
I could use that, but sounds like there might be some big disadvantages in the long run
Oh
Well uhhh
What if the generations are different
generations? 🤔
I've got two SSDs lying around, Gen3 and Gen4
as long as they're the same capacity, pcie gen shouldn't matter
in theory probably works but the gen3 would be a bottleneck
What if I put 2x 9100 Pros 4TB in Raid1
Both are 1tb, but they're like 932gb and 918GB
Rich
the dumb part about raid 0 is that if a drive dies, you lose EVERYTHING
get 'em he has ssd
Fellas, what do i do? My pc just had a BSOD. All i did was mess with the Nvidia app Tuning
Ive turned off the tuning now, idk if it will fix it
This don't help much without the error code
Oh that makes sense
I bought 2x 990 Pro 4tb + 2x 9100 Pro 4tb when I noticed they were underpriced, got lucky with the timing and saved some money since I was planning to build a PC soon anyway (Building tomorrow hopefully) but I obviously don't need 16tb storage in my main rig when I'm also building a 32tb or whatever NAS
then you have 4tb total capacity and it's got another drive mirroring it for rednundancy of the data
You answered your own question dawg
if it doesn't keep happening, not a big deal
well yes but also waste of money surely lol
It didnt give one, PC screen just went black, and then rebooted.
getting a gen 5 drive is just a waste of money to begine with
Sheeesh
put them in the NAS and have your NAS contain both an HDD and an SSD pool
Considering selling two of them, though, either at my buy cost or slightly above idk
and he never sees the speed from them because he's using it for gaming
🙃
It be like that man I saw big number
If I were to buy 4tb SSDs and sell them in my country, all I'd get are the laughing reactions on Facebook because people here are just that dumb and think the drives are priced absurdly
hey at least I think my use case can actually benefit from the gen5 speeds
stupidly saw the sequntial speed and thought you'd be seeing that all the time
Id take one at buy cost if I hadn't gotten my 2tb drive recently lol
considering I'm frequently loading like 30-50gb LLM models from disk into vram
Probably yeah
lol
buy cost was already high just fyi lol, like 583.25eur (6500NOK)
it can, code compiling also benefits from the speed and cache, as well as video editing and 3d rendering does
Oh yeah that's a lot
25% VAT included ofc, and Norway so smaller market higher prices
I saw a 990 Pro for like $380 USD 3 months ago
Decided to get my MP600 Pro XT for $180 USD instead
@lapis talon the simplest image to cover raid
Whewww
I've been considering grabbing a 9100 8tb for 1k eur, considering only one place here has it at that price and elsewhere it's waaay more expensive
they went up in price a lot but then suddenly stopped for a bit and I was like "huh, but they're still going up just not at this vendor...." so I bought some, then saw the 9100 Pros seemed like they should be more expensive
since they were the same price, 6500 NOK/ 583eur
Does higher number mean more drives?
no
Oh
raid 5 has a redundancy to it with the ability to lose 1 drive and still maintain all the data, raid 6 does the same but allows for 2 drives, and you can do raid 5 with a minimum of 3 drives
Wait then what's the difference
it can
redundancy
Oh that's neat
it really depends on what raid you're using
I mean it can mean a higher minimum number of drives
Does setting up raid3 and raid5 have different requirements?
raid 3 isn't really a thing that is done anymore
I'm just using that as an example lol
like raid 10 requires 4 drives minimum because your's doing raid 0 first then raid 1 after
Sounds like a lot of work
But isn't RAID what a NAS uses though?
sup brosef
nas's can use many forms of RAID yes or it can use JBOD
Holy
Sounds like a whole new rabbit hole
the differences in general between different raid types are:
- how likely it is that you have data loss if a specific number of drives fail
- read and write speeds
- speed of restoring after a drive has failed
- minimum number of drives to even use it
- available storage for use
and choosing one is based on which tradeoff you go with between these
JBOD is the more jank form for doing a nas
So depends entirely on your needs
to this question, yes it will differ, but raid 2 and 3 are basically dead as a form of raid use
Ouh
Bold
raid 2 = 4 drives for storage + 3 drives for parity
raid 3 = 3 drives for storage + 1 drive for parity
i just need a big drive and that was the easiest way to do it
i would never do raid 0 on it's own
same
then get a larger drive, that's easier than doing raid 0
4 sata drives with 1.2 tb
raid0.... across 4 drives? yikes
raid 1 is the minimum raid setup anyone should do
this is dumb for the cost a 4tb drive would have been at the time
acquired over time maychance
I mean if it's literally for data that you can easily redownload/reextract with minimal effort, I guess it's not that bad
well i have enough of them and have to use them for something
raid 10/50/60 them
lmao did you rob somewhere
Weird order but ok
i just want some 4TB sas ssd for under $100 per is that asking too much 😄
seriously, use a nested raid setup
jbod is great too
only good for combining mixed drive sizes
Lend me 1tb for my games
i.e. 160+ 320+500+750gb into a single drive doing nearly 2tb
the 4 drives that is installed internal are the raid
the rest is just jbod via usb-c
lol wow
whatever works
just get a power edge with 24 bays 😄
Ok i need to get a new case and PSU, to pave way for some stuff.
Is this a good combo?
In future i will get 9700X3D and 5070
I guess you've got everything that matters stored in a more stable way, so I suppose that's fine
@lapis talonthis is why JBOD is jank as fuck
case is a solid pic, psu totally fine
$21 a month god damn
I will still buy YouTube premium though because having no ads on videos is so good
aight, ill purchase it on sunday, going to flea market tmrw.
the problem is i can't do raid for the drives connected via USB
i tried everything i could think of but nothing worked
my only issue with fractal north is that the PSU shroud is not removable, which made it a massive PITA to connect additional PSU cables later on
proshop mention giga W
eh adblock is doing that for free 🤷♂️
Lmao you can’t ad block on iOS
saw someone else say they got increased to 15.99 so are they doing dynamic pricing lol
Well atleast from what I know
or is it just region/currency but both were USD I thought
im so opsec that i made that i can access my selfhosted vpn only locally
not really, adblock just causes a loading spinner for a while to appear before the video plays
proshop best scandinavia store. komplett sucks
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard_RAID_levels
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nested_RAID_levels
@lapis talon if you want to delve into raid at any point
In computer storage, the standard RAID levels comprise a basic set of RAID ("redundant array of independent disks" or "redundant array of inexpensive disks") configurations that employ the techniques of striping, mirroring, or parity to create large reliable data stores from multiple general-purpose computer hard disk drives (HDDs). The most com...
Nested RAID levels, also known as hybrid RAID, combine two or more of the standard RAID levels (where "RAID" stands for "redundant array of independent disks" or "redundant array of inexpensive disks") to gain performance, additional redundancy or both, as a result of combining properties of different standard RAID layouts.
Nested RAID levels ar...
i gave up on youtube ob mobile devices
Komplett is alright in Norway at least, I do order from them but I'm not loyal to any one store, I buy where I get the best deal or service
Komplett gives me free shipping regardless of order price which is nice
gave me a 10% off voucher, too, so I used it to buy a 5090 lol
Also YouTube has been cracking down on ad blockers unfortunately
happens sometimes (and it's not adblock doing it but youtube)
but mostly works great. still better than ads
how big of a downgrade is the Ryzen 5 7600X3D as compared to the Ryzen 7 7700 (got that rn) in gaming
raid 01 vs raid 10, essentially the same but different implementations of it
no benchmark comparisons out for your CPU/GPU combo?
damn, my budget is only 4k dkk rn for stuff., but i think i might just sell my whole pc. so i can buy a new one
no clue
it is adblock not really helping that much because the wait is gone if you have youtube premium. so the point, premium still saves you time, whereas adblock just makes the ad that you'd wait for invisible while you're still waiting anyway
are you planning on switching to a 7600x3d?
oof, but depends on what you're looking for tbh, if you have a 7700 surely you could get a 9800X3D?
tbf, revanced is what you'd want for mobile/tv use
if its cheaper than a 9600X and faster because of 3D V cahce then yeah
imo it's not worth switching off of the 7700
I don't really watch youtube on anything but a PC (I use my TV through a PC too)
no i cannot, not without going over budget, if i sell my current desktop i have a budget of 13500 DKK
it really is. I'm using it daily and only maybe one in 20 videos has a delay
but if you have 4k DKK and a 7700 right now couldn't you get a 9800X3D as a drop in upgrade?
Had a sort of off topic question.
A relative went to a different country a few days ago with their family. A stranger at the airport had met up with them as they had booked stuff from the same travel agency.
My relative was traveling with his parents and they ended up sorting of "bonding" with that stranger (?) and this resulted in something crazy happening. The stranger asked my relatives to check his baggages in along with my relatives' by saying that the stranger himself was a relative and this would make the process faster. That stranger checked in 4 ENTIRE SUITCASES which totalled to around 75kg full of illegal stuff. Relative's parents are a bit on the older side so they didn't suspect anything when that stranger initially asked them for the favour (they didn't know what was in the suitcase either). Relatives landed at their destination and then were stopped by police. Those suitcases they checked in had NO labels, and so my relative was fined around $5000 USD.
What do y'all think?
I get it far more frequently. not every video but like half of them maybe
Holy message bomb
surely the 9850X3D or 9800X3D aren't more than 4k DKK??
similar to how i have it there
I think I don't see the tech relevance tbh
Just asking here since I know more people here than the main chat
i forgot to link this also for raid reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZFS @lapis talon
ZFS (previously Zettabyte File System) is a file system with volume management capabilities. It began as part of the Sun Microsystems Solaris operating system in 2001. Large parts of Solaris, including ZFS, were published under an open source license as OpenSolaris for around 5 years from 2005 before being placed under a closed source license w...
I am very confused at the whole thing
Wot this
Yeah that's the bad part, they cant
your relative's parents need to be more skeptical
i have a half dead A-620 lol also the 9800X3D is 3.2K
i could get the 7800X3D for 2400 dkk but its sold out everywhere
how was the person supposed to collect their baggage?
This is what I heard from them so I don't know the whole thing
One of them is pretty sick iirc, so they were kind of caught off guard
zfs, same as raid but slightly different, essentially raid z1 = raid 5 and raid z2 = raid 6 ifi i remember correctly
That's what I don't know yet
yeah but FOUR pieces of luggage at 75KG? Sheeeesh
that's the key in this whole thing as far as I can see at least
But apparently it happened at destination airport's baggage claim belt
mirror drives are the best with zfs
My theory is that they were supposed to meet up at baggage claim
whole thing sounds absolutely absurd but only thing I can imagine to get them out of that fine is to catch the real guy
or the guy who picks up
sting operation at the airport 😂
Basically more simple?
parity also tbh, which makes the like of raid 5+1/6+1 even better
i just do external backups. and create recovery data manually is i think it's usefull
The thing is, airport staff at my airport could've been bribed as well 🗿
in a sense, yeah
No labels on the suitcases is nuts
to do what??
What about compatibility
Like i don't understand, if they were bribed surely it'd be to get the illegal stuff to the criminal
To allow the suitcases to even reach the plane
That's what I'm saying
How else could SEVENTY FIVE kilograms of shat go to a different COUNTRY on a passenger plane unnoticed
WLMOUSE?
yes
well many people use it, i believe several nas OS's have it
Same mouse 🫡
i have a huan im collecting in 2 days
Lmk how it feels irl
I was considering it but the shape threw me off
Wanted something small and beast x mini seemed perfect
i bought it for the design and wanting to try smth new
It's fun to use
so ig we’re ignoring what was behind the mouse xddd
I never used something this light
Bottom side? Yeah I was surprised
zfs is a filesystem. raidz is effectively raid handled entirely in software by the zfs filesystem drivers, meaning you don't need any special hardware and you can just move the drives to any other system and run zfs on there and it can read them just fine. this is contrast to hardware raid, which means it's managed by special hardware (raid controller) and you might need the exact same hardware to be able to access the data later, possibly leading to data loss if you can't procure another one of the same controller
Chat, Titan X Pascal or 1080ti (Both Founders edition but the Titan is BLACK, honestly I like the silver on the 1080ti more)
So basically more simple but risky
I wanted a 5070FE but atp I’d rather just wait out and grab a 6080FE via connections
It's kind of like, it's tied to your HWID
but also titan X does look kinda epic
How do people know gen get FE cards? Never saw a way to get it brand new
Usually sighn up and they send an email or snag one on a best buy restock
probably just because they don't sell it in your area. FE cards are often released in much fewer regions than AIB cards
Sounds like a lotta work
But ive never been selected from the email reg
Have to check it like every day mostly around thursdays
Yeah doubt it'd be sold in a South Asian country in the next hundred years at the very least 🥀
Speaking of scalped
The nitro+ 9070xt I bought jumped to $1150 USD
I got it for around 800
Perks of bugging the shopkeeper for 3 whole months
Got it before it any other consumer even knew about it in my country lol
Might also be why I lost silicone lottery though 🥀
no opinions on the epic 1000 series of GTX? 😭
Uhhh one looks shinier, other looks glossier
Wait what
I meant glassier
Honestly it seems like it's u to whichever seller wants to ship but I do hope the Titan X seller will ship
they just say in the listing they prefer pickup
I guess meetup is nice if they can demonstrate the card isn't shitting the bed idk
this guy was living rent free
surely he was working for his stay
PG34WCDN vs 341CQR which 5th gen qd-oled should i get?
the one that is cheaper or more appealing to you
price doesnt matter as much i was thinking the asus b/c it has full hbr20 for the dp
is one better then the other?
oh is the msi only dp1.4
db2.1a uhbr 13.5
Chat I need to format a 1 TB Toshiba Hard drive to use on a PS4
I read I should use FAT32, but neither Windows nor MacOS offer such option
windows does not support fat32 on larger then 32gb by default to format so you need another program to format
Know any good and free one you'd recommend?
shouild i get the asus?
Guiformat
Dont click any of the ad spam
https://fat32format-gui.en.lo4d.com/download
Allows to format up to 2tb to fat32
I like the stand on the ASUS tbh
other than that I see such little difference
tbh kind of tempted to buy that asus one now lol
I've been wanting a new monitor for my new pc just haven't been able to settle on which monitor
looked at the G9 miniled 57" super ultrawide (aka 2x 32" 4k monitors stacked side by side basically)
still tempted by it tbh lol
my plan is to also get the lg 39 5k2k then have the 34 on top
and when i go to school next year i would just bring the 34 with me
but the 57" brooooo
it looks so GOOD, but so many reviews all over the place
some hate it some love it, some in the middle
video reviews seemed alright though, but even if I spent like 3500 on the GPU it feels hard to spend 2600 on a monitor lol
msi is just sold out but its also $400 cheaper
on newegg msi is 950 usd and asus is 1300
damn, here the MSI was 1600 or something and asus 1300
or 1700 and 1400 or something
goofball mouse
matching is very satisfying
i don't get the point of matching pc components by brands or smth
satisfaction
like color yeah i get it, its the first thing you see
but other than that idc about matching
I'll give it a try. Thanks!
Just be sure to select the correct drive, you got this
oh boy apparenty we get gta 6 on pc in feb 2027
I don't really intentionally match brands as I shop for what seems like good value or quality and often that perception aligns on the same brand
but my laptop is ASUS and phone is samsung
Good one
Though admittedly I have a lot of samsung stuff
You think GTA is actually gonna be released in November? After firing 20% of the work force during the last delay to delay it even further? Rockstar on crack making people believe it’s a 2026 release
And may I add, fired them for wanting to unionise after working 80 hour weeks…
theyre too scared to announce another delay cuz they know everyone gonna be pissed
look at the hi everyone
They really don’t care
less rgb software
They know people will buy their game regardless
Probs more so releasing with ps6 as a bundle
They’re firing people against the law for wanting better rights. So rockstar really couldn’t give a fuck about anything but getting it right to keep reputation and maintain sales
Intel core ultra 270k plus
I really hope it isn't gonna be this way but I definitely expect GTA6 to be overhyped
So I’ve seen preformance is insane, cinebench r23 scores are wild, beats i9 19400k and has better gaming performance
Crazy stuff, man Intel really cooked here
I wish I had a 19400k tbfh
you got that unreleased intel 19th gen?
Would probably play GTA6 when it’s released
They're largely fixed i believe
No I mean 19400k, like you said
I mean if it was AMD that had that problem. Everyone would say never buy AMD ever again 🤷🏼♂️
Just to understand, which CPUs have lower rates of defect at stock not related to wear?
Not the amd shills
It’s probably rare, but it’s something that like we need to look for actively to reveal before declaring a pc stable, I know Jays2cents does lots of stress tests
anything that isn't 13th and 14th gen
Prob, but those are wear and tear?
I don’t think it was a defect, it happened over time
DOA CPUs are extremely rare outside of physical damage
Nah not DOA, I mean a fundamental issue with the CPU, an unstable cpu that works. I’ve always wondered this
I wanna expand my pc knowledge
That for example it’s the sole reason of an unstable system which usually is caused by other factors.
Every CPU has some sort of defect somewhere in the silicon
That's why binning exists
when I say defect I mean a fundamental issue, like a cpu that’s haunted. A pc that behaves abnormally. For example things I’ve seen and heard are like freezing up, blue screen, black screens
Things like this. I have had black screens in quite a few laptops previously I’ve owned for example, but they were occasional. Like I remember the device froze up and black screen needed a hard reset
this is usually software tied, or bios tied
hardware errors are pretty rare
gpus dying is much more common than a cpu dying
I've rarely seen any chip die unless pushed too hard
eg pushing an old i5 chip to run cyberpunk would probably stress it too much and can cause damage due to heating cycles
in the same way, pushing an i7
- more threads to distribute workload
- low overloaded.bottlenecks
- lower temps (avg)
but on newer chips, none of this really matters anymore.
all of them are very powerful
Yea I mean I thought this too, usually rare for hardware to cause such issues, for the CPU
Why would a newer i7 have lower temps, old i5 will run at a lower wattage
Like what would happen if you overuse and abuse an older i5 running cyberpunk for example frequently even with very good cooling, and there was say excellent thermals.
barely used hp pavilion x360 14 inch 2in1 i5-1335u 16/512 for 1350pln (370usd) is a good deal right
good cooling, good psu, good motherboard,
nothing at all
all safe
the only possibility would be an issue with the cpu itself, either manufacturing defects and so on
Yea I mean I wonder is true manufacturing defect rare?
Which is why you don’t need to worry
yes usually
That a haunted feeling Pc for example people have had, it’s only due to CPU
I think 2011 is a little late also
and nothing else, but it’s not a dead chip just there is fundamental defect, things like this.
true
but 2011 is when we started having very stable chipsets
especially due to asml's fabs
Cuz pc builders always love doing stress tests
For hours on end, maybe 24 hours. They do it very aggressively
They are trying to reveal any issues. So that’s why I ask
24 hrs
no way
also stressing a computer continously does not reveal defects
IIRC it was like 2002-2004 the switch was made. AMD might have even went a little later as global foundries wasn’t used until 2009
multiple cycles of cooling and heating cycles yes, this can reveal defects very reliably
Yea some do that, or at least a few hours. I’ve heard
honor and xiaomi
atleast its not honor 17
What's the odds a random brand off Amazon for a battery bank is actually gonna be the capacity it says it is, not the good kinda battery banks from like ugreen or anker like the random company ones?
what games can i run on integrated
i would go for 3070 but price and models depend
*and usage, incase its been used for some serious gaming or crypto mining in the past, avoid it

bro wt blurred captions background?
lemme guess, apple stuff
FE seems to be the cheapest
3070 fe?
yeah
damn
2080-Ti blower cards are the cheapest
rich bomboclut
so false
5900x and 32gb ram talking
valid for a home nas if I need some more sata connections?
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005011798479750.html
I can't see why not personally but idk this stuff very well
i saw it for a milisecond and then
weird lol
"Precisionn RTL9100 Chip PCI-E To 6 Ports SATA 3.0 6 Gbps Expansion Card PCI-E Adapter Card For Win8/10/11 4X" full name on aliexpress lol
idk anything about nasa and space i cant help sorry
lol what
i just game i dont store
Guess who’s done? I made sure it’s correctly pined while the psu was off by probing
Ill need some extensions tho
so like... 2080-Ti or 3070?
i see no real performance difference
but the 2080-Ti has more VRAM
an entire GTX 1050M more of VRAM
i guess bro
no blower cards
they're not that bad
i can cool one properly, so i see no issue with it
the problem is noise
i thought i could stand it, i sold that shit the next week
i was also a gaming laptop user!
i also don't even mind the noise
and an acer nitro
the problem is it even idles loudly
the frequency is really annoying
as long as it doesn't get too hot, then i'm fine with it
ehhh sure but i really recommend getting a regular one, they usually arent much more either
fan 2080-Tis are like $40 more
get 3070 idk
melty
or 6700xt
how
Dont go amd unless it current gen for fsr4
bought a 7700xt today :o
this will probably be what i get if i don't get a 3070
sort of a 4090/ 5080/5090 exclusive problem
Now you have a stinky upscaling
i will definitely need that for cs2
then again amd scales pretty badly in cs2 and has weird problems
what chip is it using?
well its not hard to run but its hard to run well
200 fps in cs2 feels like 60 in cyberpunk ngl
still harder to run than CSGO
the 0.1% suck
I didn't play CS2 much because it just felt bad to run
I guess like http says it was because of the 0.1% making it feel bad
even if avg FPS was fine
skip this one
Oh?
the initial chip only handles 2x sata from the get go
ASM1064 ?
look for ones with a marvell or asmedia chip instead
it's only a 4port expansion card with the ASM1064
yeah but the chip itself does 4x sata at full sata 3 speeds
good to know
google, it does wonders when used right
really does, brain all fried from medication right now
but I am learning a little I think, mostly ASMedia good
yeah they have some good chips, marvel has a couple also good ones, which work great for raid use
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K2VGN9M i'm using this in my main pc to give me extra sata drives, the marvel chip on it is fine for software based raid, which in the case of a nas is really good
4-6 port would be your limit for a pcie x1 expansion card, though above 4 port many of them may not work well for raid use unless you go for an lsi hba card
Nah man bing it
well the posh lot just 'ask jeeves' as it is
Boomer saying
noooo blower
the cooling on the case should be pretty damn good
Blower are loud
blower kill itself
the card is basically another output fan
only if ur ok with super loud noise and hot gpu
yeah it doesnt help
so 3070 FE?
i can probably get one for like $240 + tax
tax?
i thought the seller had to pay that :o
the buyer does????
idk never used it before, never had to
seller can pay shipping tax, but the buyer pays the government tax
when i try to buy its just this
its a used item why would there be tax
dude, i don't know
funky
depends on country, sometimes it's directly in the price, others it has to be added on
i mean id just buy from marketplace then
even tho its a cesspool
even that can have the same issues depending on location
Shouldve thrown multiple instead of one
modern day "political activists" really cant plan ahead smh
6 is the max for pcie x1
(At least for pcie3)
I bought the dbrand touch grass skin and case for my phone because I wanted da memes and for the pixel 9 pro fold UNFORTUNATELY you can't just buy the skin alone, its bulky as hell like so much and not even magsafe, is there skin options from not them or even just a way to add magsafe easily? I LOVED it in third party cases when I had my pixel 7 case.
which i stated earlier, it's basically the max for pcie x1 no matter the gen, for more than that you'd want pcie x2 or better
even for gen5?
even for gen 5 you'd be limited there
damn
Guys i need help ASAP
Maybe, just maybe, you should tell us what you need help with instead of just asking for generic "help"

It’s that i’m getting a mid range build as a first ever pc but the psu can fry the motherboard and i can’t upgrade it any day soon
ask for a doctor,
Huh?
Also lads whats the take on chrome vs firefox vs safari for a macbook
I've been using firefox for the longest time and its the browser I use on my windows machine too but I will shortly be in a position where longer battery life is going to be super helpful. I'm considering potentially also starting to use safari especially for video streaming and meet calls
Also is it even worth switching given that firefox is non chromium?
Plus I'd miss not having Ublock origin
Also I dont reckon I'd switch over fully becaue frankly firefox just works for me + has fantastic extension support
i fried a lot of psu when i deployed to europe in early 2000s lol. stock were 110 and were in 220
or wahtever eu is
Does anyone know how to remove the shitty gigabyte m.2 clips
I cannot figure out how the latching mechanism works, same with the actual clips that hold it onto the board
Look at the manual
RTFM and pull
It's a stupid people proof design that causes issues for stupid people
Gigabyte somehow does it again
Like bear proof trash cans
They got like 3 or 4 types of nvme locks
And often mix 2 or 3 on the same motherboard like WHY
Dumb as bears ig
My friend is looking at getting a gaming PC, but he only has around 400 USD which really isn't a lot, but he found a PC with a 1050-TI for around 400 bucks. Idk why they bundle in some shitty monitor with it, but is this a somewhat decent deal or it it not even worth considering for 430 USD? I don't know the american market very well, so I'm not sure what things cost over there. https://a.co/d/08BXxGb7
He's just lookin to play GTA and american truck simulator mainly, and looking at benchmarks, it seems like GTA runs pretty well.
That is the first part of my troubles done with
A reskined dell optiplex
Now how do I get these off? The other clips on the heatsinks could be pushed through with a screwdriver but these won't even budge if I try to force the clip closed
Yeah i've noticed a lot of those going around, but are the specs that bad for the price?
I honestly don't know what you can get for only 400-450 USD these days
I still wouldn't, not for a PC that is literally unupgradable by design
Oh dayum
Looking at some benchmarks and it's sad that GTA performs so much worse than the 1050-TI
Part List - AMD Ryzen 5 5500GT, Zalman CUBIX MicroATX Mini Tower
so you'd pick this mini PC over the 1050-ti dell optiplex any day of the week?
The dell doesn't officially support windows 11, so if you like being tech support for friends you can get it
ahh good point
i mean past the install does it matter
tho i wouldnt get that anyway
how trustworthy is Aliexpress these days?
Hey do yall recommend this? https://a.co/d/02Fzdotf I need one for gaming like amercsin truck sim. GTA 5 with mods and stuff I wanna be able to play with controller and I wanna be able to get my games from Xbox onto my computer
I reckon at that price point you should be able to snag a build with a 1650 easily
That should offer like 20% better performance I believe?
Plus also be a lot better on compatibility
Hell if hes a bit savy he could get a 1660 or a 2060 at that price range too
I’m the one looking for it
If you got a link mainly trying to buy off Amazon and stuff like that. I know someone mentioned the mini PC. I’m just trying to mainly get it for like games like GTA V with mods or American truck Sim with mods and big games like that you know.
Thats a zen3 laptop chip so I dont really know how much mileage it would give yu
Oh. Do you have any good ideas for one?? Trying to really spend under $435 USD. Just cause I don’t want to go to crazy on one
Fair enough, does that number have to include tax and the peripherals or just the PC
Because monitors and mice and all cost too
Just the PC
Ah good shit
I mean if I can find a good PC monitor and stuff with to be that close that’ll be awesome but if I can only find the PC that’s OK
What games do you want to play?
So any help would mean the world just trying to play huge games with mods. That the Xbox can’t do
GTA 5 with like the LSPDFR mod an AMERICAN truck sim with mods. Phas Minecraft madden and stuff.
I want to be able to also play with my controller so I can answer my controller on the PC and be able to get my Xbox games onto the PC
Ah gotcha
Seems like its more important to have a good CPU in that case than a GPU
https://www.ebay.com/itm/397235053657 https://www.ebay.com/itm/276329017403 for under $400 just need a second bigger ssd
Ideal scenario would be 16 gigs of memory, a 8th gen+ CPU preferably i5 or i7 and a 1650+
I’m not gonna like I don’t even know how to type that into eBay to find one LMAO. You able to help me out with that
Oh yeah this is fully a great deal
Hey, so this PC would be for me do you think this PC would be able to hold games like GTA V would like the LS PDF R mod Phas American trucks and games like that
Holy bad naming
Genuine question, Quadro or a 1660super?
Oh shit thats pretty solid
I'm out of touch on the quadros
Quaro is way better
Alright I’m gonna trust you. Hope I can trust you.
Yeah just that the 1660 super can be had for like 110 bucks
Quadro even has USB c if you want to do vr
Do y’all know if I can like use my Xbox controller on it if I can put my Xbox games on it and stuff like that
But no raytracing support and new games like Indiana Jones requires it the game won't launch without it
Ag fair enough
Also wonder if somethign like this would be more worth it

its 2 quadros for 200 bucks. Perhaps there might be resale potential?
All right, I’m about to press bye. I just want to confirm that I can use my Xbox controller on it. I can put my Xbox games on it and it can run big games like GTA with mods steam all that.
Wait
Hold up, xbox games on it?
I don’t know how to insert that card into the PC
Oh you can't use your current Xbox library on steam/pc
You will have to buy the games again
Damn
/buy gamepass which should work on both
Also Coopa, Why not go for a 2060 super, its probably better for gaming and similarly priced
actually stupid logic lmao
"its a different platform and different code you gotta buy it again"
only game ive bought more than once is minecraft and skyrim
Man I'm not gonna lie I've forgot everything I knew about GPUs pre 3000 series
"you bought our game on xbox but lets lock away your license when its available on pc in our same store app!!!"
Needs PSU power, the fell optiplex doesn't have a extra power connector I'm pretty sure, the quaro just needs the slot power no added connector
Hard agree
Solid thinking, I wouldnt have caught that
Same for minecraft. Had it on the Playstation back when and just bought Java recently
minecraft is valid tho cuz its only like 20 dollars
and well, its minecraft
30 now rip
Wait I lie it needs a 8pin
You need to buy a sata to 8pin power adapter for the gpu @bitter skiff
i need to bring out the meme pc pic
🎶 “We didn’t start the fire! it was always burning since the world’s been turning”🎶
