yea no problem with that
I have returned
how
Yeah what about it
does thiccpads support SATA hotswap?
lets just say I'm in the middle of trying to surface test a drive and Victoria drive tool just wont let me pick that one drive bcs it will always froze the app
liquid cooling
so I was like okay lets just swap the HDD in the laptop to this one drive I'm trying to test
with spit
hawk tuah
hawk tuah indeed brother
Ultimate DS emulation device
wish i had a foldable phone
why do reflections look better on high than epic
My ADHD been especially active and bouncing me between projects faster then (insert funny analogy I am blanking on here) the past week or two and I just needa start knocking down dominos instead of putting more potential projects.
The so the first project I was looking at was Minecraft server. I have a not being currently used true nas server I setup a while ago for backing up my dads macbook. Anyone that can help me finish setting it up for a sever for use with me and my friends?
now look at this
.
thats the pic for arc Dgpus
it'll want to do something til suddenly.... squirrel
probably
What?
Anybody knows what kinda leg layout i should get done for triangle desk
Im gonna get triangle desk so my desk can go farther without limiting door
you mean a corner desk
No no actual triangle desk eith 3 legs
My desk is behind door do gotta be triangle so door can open somewhat
triangle shaped desks are hella poor space usage generally
Oh now I get it. Kinda yeah something like that with my brain lol sadly but instead of tacking yet another project on my to due list. (Learn some code/AI, to draw, to learn blender, finally finish setting up the NAS and Minecraft server, fix some of my 3D printers, learn to solder and fix my modded iPod classic...) It goes on and on but since I have a friend also bugging me about the server I'm choosing that first. With my luck and track record I'm gonna maybe complete this project, add 1-5 more to my to due list before completing one more so yeah...but I wanna at least try and get some done so where I start with this one?
draw what you're planning to do in paint. But if it's actually a triangle, it's probably a terrible use of space
some of them care uh i havent researched the throttle temps because i dropped apple entirely a couple years ago but when people hear that their laptop will happily hit 110c if they try and use it uh they get lightly concerned but also its just a bit evil
Does msi produce their own screen panels?
almost nobody does
Hmm
On the phone in road i hope this explains enough @carmine yew
quick google tells me they use other peoples panels
Dell and asus outsource their screens to various companies like LG, Samsung,
Tk I just did the same it says they don't
https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/914b4666
Panel manuf: Samsung
Specifications of MSI MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24. Display: 31.5 in, QD-OLED, 3840 x 2160 pixels, Viewing angles (H/V): 178 ° / 178 °, Brightness: 300 cd/m², Static contrast: 1500000 : 1, Refresh rate: 48 Hz - 240 Hz, sRGB: 138 %, Adobe RGB: 97 %, Dimensions: 719.1 x 483.9 x 69.26 mm. MSI MAG 321UP QD-OLED X24 is also known as MSI MAG321UPQD-OLEDX24.
Mind you msi uses other suppliers for components it says
@carmine yew Did you see it by any chance
that's not a triangle desk, that's an angled/triangular extension for a desk
Yes but it will be seperate desk thats why i was wondering how legs should be placed on the triangle desk
@carmine yew Are you buying that?
i'm not shipping for monitors currently
at each corner, obviously
I was thinking if i should also put one in middle cause of not getting broken or something
why
All of my desks brakes in middle
Both probably
if you break another desk? Look around for surplus office furniture liquidators
you can get some steals from shops like that sometimes
How does one break desks in middle
shitty desks can do that
One smalk smack does it
Must be Temu furniture
- buy better furniture
- get your fuckin' impulses under some control
- try talking to a therapist
Problem is between the chair and desk
What about that
most expensive 3DS evar
ones that use carboard infill
4DS*
this is cheaper than a new 3ds xl
are they still overpriced on ebay?
Get an odin 3 or rp6
240 bones for one good god
girlfriend received her ayn thor yesterday
can't wait to meet her to try it out
we are seeing next week again
No rgrts
Supposed to be good
I have a new 3ds xl with an usb-c port
Flipped the smaller one and got the blue one
but it's disassembled
i own a shitton of gaming consoles
was thinking of replacing the screen for like $15
5x PSP, PSVita OLED, DSi, DSi XL, New 3DS XL, Legion Go and a Steam deck
Its hard to take apart and not damage the ribbons but if you have the patience actually plugging in a new screen is fairly easy if you can get the adhesive lined up
i gave up on re-assembling my new 3ds xl because of the ribbon cable's going through the hinge
Thats the hardest part, totes understandable
another thing i wanted to do was replace the sticks and do a shell swapon my switch lite
it's been sitting disassmebled for years in my closet for like 3 years
I accidently broke the 3D effect ribbon cable when I tried to re-assemble it back together lol
If suddenly, one day, macbooks had the same support for games as Windows, would gamers switch? what would we see? Since the main thing holding back macOS is just support.
probably, though windows laptops and x86 are rapidly progressing
I'd say other than silicon windows laptops in the higher end have surpassed apple
Man I just had a crazy thought about DLSS5. Imagine the Leisure Suit Larry games
This is the wayyy
yummy couple original DS's on the left
Tbh that was my first thought on dlss5 is any inappropriate game just got alot more rated x
War shipped suckaaa feeesh
Apparently I can’t say lady milk makers. Imagine Lara too
I've got a pair of PSPs. (But the screens are frequently fuzzy, they're old)
Pair of 3DS XLs, modded, etc.
GBA, GBA SP (Revised), and other stuff
To many titles to complete lately but slowly getting there, its fun having a bunch of consoles but makes landing on a game sometimes a bit of a task
I have every original switch Zelda game but have played them 0 times
Lenovo should've just included a controller holder like this with the legion go
Also been heavily debating a handheld pc
Way more comfortable to play like this rather than having to sit like a shrimp holding a big ass console
Legion Go is peak handheld pc
I've used the Steam Deck, Rog Ally and Legion Go is def my most favorite
i have steam deck
Holy shit guess what
is good
My job is back on!!!! I can earn money again!!!
i think the 'too weak' aspect completely depends on the user, it runs the games i want it to run very well, i can see others needing more power though
i got steam deck because track pads are great and steamos is great, wouldnt sacrifive either for more performance
i mean it’s really only the trackpads that the steam deck has
you can run steamos on other handhelds
My steam deck couldn't even play ps3 games without being at max tdp for 40fps (Yakuza games)
runs bloodborne at 40
ps4
runs BoTW at near 60
for me, is good
for others, not enough
or just some other linux distro like cachy handheld, bazzite, etc
It's a per-game thing really
I'm using Bazzite since it's fedora and has steam gaming mode integrated to it
It's a nifty little machine capable of decent gaming capability, you have to remember that this is a tiny computer not much larger than a phone
doesnt legion GO ship with/have official steamOS support now?
go s ships with it i believe
Oh that's interesting
Bazzite has lots of QOL stuff over SteamOS
go 2 probably does as well
gone
holy moly expense
i havnt found a game that i cant play
lelnovo had thr legion go for $437 a couple weeks ago
I don't care about multiplayer games on my Legion Go so I've got Linux on it
Windows isn't really ready for handhelds yet either
I just bought the base storage one and upgraded it myself. However SSDs are more expensive right now so idk if that's the most economical way to do it at the moment. What I can say is that I love my original Legion Go.
I can get the Go S with 16GB/512GB for like $720
Also, the CPU on it seems quite okay
4c8t Ryzen 6000 (Zen 3+)
I disagree, I've had no issues with it in that regard. Windows has been on mobile devices for decades
i got the 1tb OLED steam deck for £450 so i cant complain
Detachable controllers are very important to me since I like setting this thing on a table to play
The iGPU is RDNA 2 with 12 CU, though idk anything more
That 1TB is now half the price LOL
Not to mention using one as a mouse is nice. I rarely use it since I play in handheld most of the time, but it's a nice feature.
It has yes but not on these kinda systems
huh
rdna2 for $720 ehhhhhhhh
Windows only now recently started optimizing their OS to be more usable on handhelds
especially when you can get the og legion go for a similar price
The difference between a handheld gaming PC and a gaming laptop is small. It's literally just a laptop in a different form factor.
But Windows's bloat is what's ruining the pc handhelds it ruins the performance and battery
i stuggle to like windows enough on a desktop, cant imagine handhelds are better
I got my used Legion Go for 380€ with an upgraded 1tb nvme and 80wh battery mod
In USD that's 437
That I can understand, at least. But Windows is fine for handhelds. Not saying I'll never use SteamOS, but I don't mind Windows on a handheld and it also has its own advantages.
That's a weird handheld
Cons outweigh the pros though unfortunately
Depends on what you're doing and what you favor.
it's a handheld
It's already weak so I'd like good battery life and better performance
for example
Legion Go S is a good device to compare with as it has both a Windows and a SteamOS version
The Lenovo Legion Go S becomes excellent with Valve's SteamOS. The first TRUE competitor to the Valve Steam Deck.

what is the official link for ddu? (the guru3d link isnt working)
No I mean
That 1TB SSD is half the entire deck's price
Oh wtf the OG Legion has an 8c Zen 4 chip???
Yeah
With 780m???
Yeah
It's basically running a 7840U but with AI stuff disabled
NPU and such
That's basically what the Z1 Extreme is
the amd z1e = 7840u modified tbh
I owned a laptop with a 7840U and it performed basically the same as my Rog Ally since it's running the same chip
15W (Alleged) TDP though
Would putting it in a docking station or such let it use more
Huh
Legion Go is max 30w
Oh huh
I was going off TPU's numbers
Okay 30W is much more manageable
How much can you get it to use whilst charging
yeah but that's not just about the cpu inside it tbh
That's awesome
Legit a mini handheld Linux laptop
It's locked to max 30w
I just run my stuff at 15w-18w though
I rarely go past 18w
That screen looks big, even for 8.8in
z1e uses less power than a 7840u afaik, for it to run higher wattage it would have to be a 7840h/hs instead
Yuh it's 16:10 another reason why I like it sm
Wrong reply
Why's 16:10 good or such
additional vertical real estate
As in PL? Or it doesn't need to pull more
Oh
Like the ThinkPad 1200p screens?
Since those get an extra 120p vertical
If they are 16:10, yeah
PL?
What I am getting from all this is that the Legion Go is literally like a handheld Linux laptop with a 49.2Wh battery
power limit
2560x1440 is popular today but back about 15 years ago I got a 2560x1600 display. Little taller.
I recommend getting a 80wh battery for an extra 30 bucks it's a game changer
PL-12 ARH Missile Power Limit
Welllll it's already $760
Nah i just like to conserve battery and 15w-18w is enough for medium or high 60-75fps gaming
Oh fair
-Still checking, but the cheapest I've seen is the Logitech G Cloud for $420
That's very weak
7840h and 7840hs
It's meant for cloud gaming
Oh
Explains the cloud name
It's literally running a Snapdragon 720G which is meant for very cheap budget phones 6 years ago
Oh wow the Switch Lite is $180
So it's just a glorified shit phone 💔
Like the Samsung A52
-NOT considering it, just saying
What about the Helios G99 chip
It's in my current phone, A16
You mean 6 gen 3?
Wait no I think I am mixing them up
Yeah SD 6 G3
-Switch 2 256GB is $460, surprisingly cheap
Yeah but it's games will be 100$ for each one lol
If your just gaming the difference can be big
Wait
I think my Protogen head is more powerful than one of my computers
oh yeah defs
Gay
hole in back for nvme access pretty cool thanks evga
Oh very interesting
I was recommending it to my brother, who's Tecno Pova 2 just died - Again
psu still sparks wheever i turn it off but oh well
WHAT
Tell me more NOW
Well my proto is powered by an ATMEGA328
and I have a NEC 8950 computer
and I think my proto clocks faster
yeah it is lol
I own a few phones that have the best Antutu scores like 8 Elite, 9400E, 8 Gen 3 and 8 Gen 2 and many more but my main phone the Pixel Fold is running a Tensor G2 chip which is significantly weaker if you compare the scores
ATMEGA328?
Proto is 16mhz, the PC tops out at 8mhz
That's silly
I love it
Yeah on the Arduino Uno R3
:3
?
Give the proot a higher end raspberry / arduino :3
I should lol but I just need it working for now
Can't help, but...
I feel you man, I am planning random projects </3
Tensor G2?
Just make it use the Tensor cores /s
a lot of people's protogens use the Teensy 4.0 which is much faster
Lowkey I didn't know how bad the Tensor G2 chip is until now when it can't even emulate 3DS games
Also I have 32gb ram and wanna go 64gb because I hit 30gb when using blender and the likes. Sadly am on DDR5 what's the best way to get that? Can you mix sodim and regular ram in one system? I saw those adapter things online and laptop ram cheaper on the used market.
the teensy is 600mhz
Teensy.. That's a company I am first hearing of
tried running mario kart 7 which is a fairly simple game but the g2 cannot handle it at all it was a whole ass slideshow
Oh that's abhorrent
Can't emulate games for a 2007 handheld?
Oh btw
Cheapest usable handheld found, steamdeck OLED 16/512GB, $625
Disappointing
LCD steam deck models are usually half the price of the OLED
None available except this one lol
I got my Steam Deck with a 1tb SN770M nvme for 250€ basically brand new with battery health still at 100%
Every 2 weeks I plan a new one its bad. The only one I've like ever stuck with is my very expensive PC hobby that AI is making look so underpowered and its 32gb ram and a 9070xt and a 7700x but eh I wanna run the good stuff and 3D printing mostly because playing the long game of wait for seeing results not work but I can tinker settings and a half hour later...the benchy prints better look what I'm doing...that quick skill reward is so nice for me. And it do most the work for me in actually making object anyways.
Which is basically 280usd
Oh that's right there's the used market
Msi claw is really good but the Ultra 100 series is kinda lacking
How so?
Not sure if this is niche but I like to center the mouse curser when intel xtu is loading
14c/18t, 96EU ARC GPU
Performance and battery issues
Oh, battery issues
Fair
Everything was fixed with the 200 series chips
200 series has insanely good performance and battery life
Wait
Can the Claw even run Linux properly
I am pretty much just considering these handhelds for running normal Linux on them
Interesting
Okey dokey
Stealing a 255H from a laptop and soldering it to the Claw
holy shit, this is nuts:
mini sdd
you can't fit an msi claw either in ur pocket
I have big pockets :3c
What's wrong?
prolly the prices
nearly 200 bucks for 1TB is crazy
small tax
this was last year:
it’s like $130-140 per tb
2230 ssd's are in low suppyl due to not big demand
Is that what they use in handhelds and whatnot?
i mean there is decent size demand but not as much as 2280 size ssd's
yeah except legion go which uses 2242
I mean, those kinda are the prices
Last year: 143 bucks for a 2TB
and Newegg Business isn't known as a "bargain" seller
How last year
August and closer? Or?
july
Welllll
2230/42 drives are still NVMes, so they're getting hit aswell ofc
@ebon marlin Found an even cheaper deck!!!!
... By $5
Still OLED
LCD decks are nowhere to be seen
2TB for 273.. I honestly don't know if that's good or not
what about an sn740 from aliexpress, that's available in both 2230 and 2280
vs 175-250 for 1TB?
Oh huh
1TB drives are going for 250 now?
I assume it's PCIe 5.0 drives?
no, and you LITERALLY REPLIED TO THIS
#tech-chat-1 message
I don't know if any 2230 Gen 5 drives are even produced.
I did NOT see that Sn770m oh wow
What the hell is WD thinking
Yeah 273 for a 2TB drive seems pretty good seeing that the other ones are 175 for 1TB
Samsung QLC 1TB SSD for $260
500GB $196 💔
@ebon marlin should i buy a watercooled 2080 ti and make a super budget full loop
no
😔
That's a sick lookin' card
your super budget full loop will cost more than the gpu
max pc budget hmmm
500-600$ idk
Apparently the 5060's raw performance is 'great' but the 9060xt is only better because it's more futureproof
Can only find people like this on Facebook in this day and age
tiktok or youtube
or kinda any techtokers comments
Facebook lol
Worse than both YouTube and tiktok combined
Is a 40 USD 1TB SN570 good value
Used?
Mhm
What's the health
equally bad
I can ask, whats a good enough %
90?
95?
I don't use YouTube shorts nor tiktok so I wouldn't know 💀
The higher the better
Alr
check health and how much days are left
they're only half wrong there tbh
Sick card
"The Future"
even the original doom looks better than that
https://www.androidauthority.com/stadia-usb-adapter-3650163/ something to do with those spare stadia controllers you have kicking around
technologia
I have one of these in a drawer.
I did run their tool to convert it to a normal BT controller a while back
thats a neat project, I had no idea about Tandem mode
I've got two of those still
same, they're pretty comfy for a controller
Oh, it's def not the best controller by a mile, but holding it is fairly comfy
so in theory it seems it'll work as a wired to BT bridge
is the charger a fire risk
probably not, but you could also just wrap some electrical tape on there
well try it out
Yes, all electric devices are a fire risk.
welcome to literally all oblivious apple charger users.
you're not going to cause a fire, just wrap it up
apple using the worst type of plastic for cable ever. never seen this happen to anything else than apple cables, outside of ancient cables which disintegrated
ohhhhhhh
that's a job for sugru!
holy shit
i mean i think the only other product where cable plastic disintegrated like on apple cables is Sennheiser RS 160 power adapter cable (the side which has 5-12V or so)
poor Minisforum product managers having to type of justification articles for price increases https://minisforumpc.eu/blogs/blogartikels/minisforum-price-hikes-for-mini-pcs-2026-analysis
Looks like the Neo has one MAJOR flaw https://youtube.com/shorts/UtpTq9Nxm-c
Worse then that its not even touching the chassis so yeah there is no where for the heat to go
Do you not know sugru?
Even if it touches still too hot
Vast majority of phones are Passive cooled
Even when a thermal pad is placed, it helps a little on the clock speed but it’s sustained temps are so high
Despite such little watts.
Also the best cooling they had was cooling the entire logic board for a boost of 20%
For comparison my laptop is 90c while pulling 102w on the CPU. While the neo is like 97 while watts in the single digits.
I think at least, I saw a review from Jake
Learn to hack and make amazing things with Sugru moldable glue! I love this product and have been using it for a long time. I think you'll love it too! Paid for advertising
Kipkay fans get 10% off your first order of Sugru: http://bit.ly/Sugru10Kipkay
Previous video: http://bit.ly/VintageMacroLens
Next Video: http://bit.ly/KipkayonVessel
SUBS...
99C is the temp it runs at and they were able to cool down to like 96C but they did gain 20% performance by cooling the entire logic board so doable
99C is still within the thermal limit of the SOC
Even tho it is annoying to see
Lmao this is funny to watch
The wattage is so so small, my laptop literally runs 23w at idle
And is having 90c at 102w
i remember buying that once, don't remember what i did with it
Had an old Thinkpad T420 that would hit 95C+ doing light tasks back in the day even after repasting the i5-2520m onboard
the packets are tiny and easy to lose
RIP
I mean laptops spike up, my laptop just opening armoury crate cpu wattage spikes above 60w
Replaced the thing with a Sager(Clevo) back in the day
Also one thing guys
HP omen max by design seems to have thermal issues
It runs much more than other laptops with the same power.
@azure topaz
I don't expect the "Neo"s to run for years at the hightemps they are running
Yea same
Honestly do we really know what happens when a chip runs above 95 in heavy loads sustained for years.
man that’s bad
how come iPhone doesn’t overheat
it's SO terribad
or maybe it does and I have zero clue.
lower power budget
and it does lol
During gaming obviously it warms up, but I would never expect it to go above 95
it probably does
Personally looking at a HP Victus with 4050, 16GB ram and at least a 512gbb ssd and maybe 13th/14th gen i5 for "Gaming" to replace my broken scrreen and keyboard and dead battery Sager laptop
which is insane watts man
The 4050 beats the old 1060 3GB in my Sager lol
Sub $800 for such a laptop ain't bad
I managed to get the $1300 Sager for roughly half off thanks to Amazon Gift cards that totaled roughly $600 and some
were is this number coming from as some sort of threshold?
Throwing something like Pop OS onto the HP wouldn't be out of the cards for me LOL
Yes
The silicon degrades at a rapid pace at very high temperatures, this has been studied for years
Linus may have said it
That it can degrade chips, when talking about 2017 MacBook or
Not sure about specifically 95 degrees though
Laptops run hot, even good temps for a laptop are objectively high
Ok so not even close to someone you take as knowledgeable on the subject.
Yea, I never said I knew
I just heard, I said we don’t know if it’s true in practice
Jay running that Intel without thermal paste for an extended amount of time during that challenge LOL
I gave 95 as an example
for the silicon to truely degrade you'd have to hit something like 200c
That levels such as this are seen on the MacBook neo
Yeah that's because power consumption isn't generally high enough for electromigration to occur
102w is high
but any interconnects is more than likely to go before that
On gaming laptops, they run at high levels.
lol, no
My gpu decides to reach 102c sometimes and it's ok
Lower voltage makes it not matter, even if that was high
This is the same sorta thing where AMD made chips designed to run at 95c and the old school people couldn't comprehend it. Years in we're still dealing with people who will say dumb shit like "well I never run my chips that hot because I want them to last longer"

Right I see
Yea those Ryzen 7000 chips
AMD said it can run at 95 safely 24/7 or whatever
long time no see
Hello
Upping those 65watts to 95watts huh?
the better part of 9000 series can also do this
only the x3d cpu's are the oines to have a lower temp
But I’m saying if a laptop runs close to 90c for a maybe an hour or 2 some people think it will degrade the CPU
I don’t think that’s true right?
No one, not a soul:
Yes, for the same reason people told their kids that sitting right in front of the TV damages your eyes
It would seem not, as it’s designed like this.
not true, it won't degrade straight away because of that
Ofc yea
tbf dude, there is some truth to this
"What?"
IF that coopling is by design and is APple trying to force Neo people to replace it every 3-5 years even worse honestly
I dare disturb his cleaning
For sake of argument the only people that could even potentially risk degrading a cpu by getting it too hot are gamers that will replace their cpu in 7 years anyways meanwhile cpu's have always lasted much longer than that
Can it cause board warping?
why are we so concerned with Neo cooling, something that won't matter to 99% of its users
And if they do productivity the life cycle is even shorter
Got a big ol chassis around it for that
bunch of arm chair silicon engineers over here thinking they're smarter than people being paid for it at apple. they got this, its fine
I tend to repalce mine less often then that more like 10 years at least LOL
I mean yea I think Apple knows what they are doing
My cpu is 6 years old now and it feels fine tbh
It’s designed like this, I don’t think it’s a problem. Just for some of us seeing bad thermals is uncomfortable
And it was mid tier then
Went from an i5 3570k to a Ryzen 3700x and that wa smainly due to the increase in core counts NOT the single core performance which was still plenty on the i5 for me
that's going to take a ton of cycles, and would need way higher heat to do so
I have a 360hz monitor now so I'll take the single core I can get next upgrade
I then went ahjead and replaced the 3700x with a 5800x3d since I plan on doing some more productivity such as 3d modeling for example
Yea constant thermal cycles, cooling and heating up
Needed a monitor with very very good colors and it also happened to be 360hz
do you remember what temps it takes for epoxy/fibreglass to fail?
He complained about the thermals being unacceptable, and 97c in an air conditioned office
Was hoping to be able to sue my Quest 3 as a way of doing said 3D modeling with it tied to the PC and having the Quest and cotnrollers act like inputs and display for Blender but apparently not
A million degrees
I don't think I ever knew to begin with
Ye, since a Macbook thermally throttling don't be too hot
Yea the main issue was it was thermal throttling in a severe degree
And loosing performance
Couple of reasons I picked up the Quest 3 Gaming was one productivity such as 3d modeling was another
I bought an oculus quest 2 and then meta killed them
That heavily depends on the epoxy, some can go up to 65 degrees celcius, some can go well into the hundreds
Fibreglass starts to degrade/fail (the epoxy binder) at roughly 200 degrees
You know there is a MAJOR issue when cooling your entire Logic board grants your system 20% extra performance
I don't want another facebook device anymore
ah, cheers dude
I use my "Facebook" account mainly for family communication honestly
Vice City dude is gettin' clowned
to late it's in everything
it's HILARIOUS
I made it for the headset it's got default profile picture and everything
and yes I was on myspace before facebook was a thing LOL
Wtf is Vice City dude lmao
gta game
Dude who was playing Vice City
--> Vice City dude
Yeah ik, he said "Vice city dude"
Does not matter
Something I missed on here? lol
that stat unto itself doesn't mean anything
Why not?
You can't upgrade it
Then why is there so much hype about X3D
The cpu just has it
Don't x3d cpus have 96gb of l3 cache?
Cause the cpu as a whole performs better because of the cache
AMD Ryzen 9 8940hx
a LARGE L3 Cache happens to helps games immensily
GIGABYTES would be crazy, but that depends on the X3D
You know what I mean
Becuase AMD Needed 3D V-Cache to amp up gaming.
It doesn't do much of anything for non-gaming loads
The 9800X3D has 96MB, the 9900X3D has 128MB, you get it
It's irrelevant to look up the amount of cache on your cpu cause it's not like you can tell how fast it is based on the amount
Mixing up Strix Halo and 3d
Yea
Intel is better for productivity
And it’s higher watts
think only on one single epyc cpu we have this currently
It’s really fast
96 gigabytes ? 😄
Strix Halo and its 96Gb of unified memory
I have 32k in cinebench r23, it’s a monster
Same as looking at cores and gigahertz across generations it quickly loses any meaning
Massive
Are you really trying to start another pointless bitch fest for no real reason?
no
Just I was trying to understand is this a good amount of cache
Cuz it seemed high
Does not matter
Alright, got it
and amount of cache on its own doesn't mean anything, implementation of it matters
If the cpu performs then that's how it is
Nowadays not necessarily
Arrow Lake can have more L2 cache than L3 cache
Its a Ryzen 8000 HX CPU so yeah not surprised it has a large amount of L3 cache for gaming chops
The highest spec Intel SKU usually matches the highest spec AMD SKU evenly
Yea the only issue with 8940HX is too much watts at idle
It’s known to be low 20s.
but it is what it is
nothing we can do about it
Strix Halo says hello
Didn’t he have that nft zoo scam game
Pretty sure Intel still lacks things that can rival Strix Halo
I guess if you look at the right slice of time
The fact it's worth anything beyond a single digit is insane lmao
I don't think that intel has any consumer 2K USD CPUs
With how often the US government had to bail em out I doubt they can afford to have any SKUs like that lol
Pretty sure double didgts thanks to "CENTS" would be more pproiate instead off single digit dollars LOL
And if Intel doesn't have anything that can beat a sub $800 Nvidia 4050 based laptop I don't honestly want it LOL
and for $1300 +that the highend lakes are going for you are running upa gains't 5060/5070 tier systems
SO yeah until you find the new CPUs in sub $1k laptops they aren't really that good honestly
Their new igps maybe on par with 4050 but if they aren't priced like a 4050 then wahts the real point?
You can grab some really good cpu power in a laptop rn if you don't need a gpu
The demand is so low that you can just pick up a zen 4 laptop for way cheaper than I'd thought
Also their lack of 6P cores on their mobile cpus is annoying as well
they all max out at 4p cores
Oh we're talking laptops? Perfect. I'm also looking for one.
Plenty of Lenovos for sale at Best Buy
all metal for Sub $800 and they are rocking at least 8000 series cpus if not newer
Best Buy tends to have Lenovo on sale constantly LOL
I just want a laptop, probably used, that can handle gaming better than a 7700 and a 1060.
Hopefully
Thinking of picking one up to repalce my old Sager (Clevo) with i7 7700hq and 1060 3GB onboard
I have an MSI Stealth with those specs.
The Sager has a broken screen broken Keyboard and dead battery so it just sits int eh corner unused while I use a Lenovo Yoga 2in1 with AMD 88040HS onboard running Linux
But yeah depending on budget you have options I would think
I'm thinking used. Get something ~500 that I can use for lighter gaming, maybe the occasional stream on the go.
Sorry Bethesda but until you pull a Final Fantassy 14/NO Mans Sky level upgrade on Starfield then anything you put out is just far to little tp bring people back to the game
I'm considering maybe just getting an eBay 3050 laptop and running with that.
4050 used MIGHT be around the $500 one would think
massive L from digital foundry lol
"we shouldve waited until the community formed the opinion before posting our coverage"
why even investigate tech if ur just gonna parrot what ppl already think abt it
'we dont have any real opinions we just want to do what makes you guys happy'
when i read tech news its to get other peoples perspectives on things, not to echo my own
I wonder how terriffyingly huge the bill LTT's gonna have for getting rid of the Asbestos and Lead in the Tech House
my workplace is full of asbestos its not that bad they might as well keep it
they're doing demo, so they may be required to fix it
Best 3€ for a setup
EXPENSIVE
oh, absolutely
asus webstore website is so fucking slow holy shit
wat
rip
the tech house has both asbestos and lead in it
and not just a little
how much did ltt pay
thats basically all property built before 1990
So glad there’s no more asbestos in this home
IDR, but they bought a house so.... quite a bit.
They haven't said what the remediation cost is
did they say that in a recent vid?
im gonna boot back into linux, im on LTSC and still getting a decent amount of issues
they use to put asbestos in EVERYTHING
today's
concrete, wire insulation, vinyl
discord be bugging, firefox be bugging, bluetooth be bugging FFS
o I'll watch it
This home used to have popcorn ceilings but we got rid of it
but windows feels smoother and has better battery life
There was also asbestos probably in the walls but that’s gone now
Now there’s fiberglass insulation
oh frick I realized my house might have asbestos in the popcorn ceiling
when was it built
1986 I believe? around there. at least One year before backwater valves became standard in homes
I have to say I’m kinda concerned with the foundation of this home
do you have any vinyl floor tiles or anything
in 1 of the washrooms yeah
hmm
my space was renovated in 2013 :3
damn it was made when sim was about 40 years old
I would be concenred about that aswell then
Again the foundation is 126 years old. There is some cracks in it
but that washroom was part of a renovation that happened in 2004
oh, good
But its overall still good
so I don't think the tile is gonna be an issue
it's just the ceiling I'm worried about
yeah, assuming it wasnt just kept original
it really is impressive the amount of products they put asbestos in
all the flooring and carpeting has been redone by the time I moved in
I also noticed there’s holes in the foundation on the outside where mice can get in
nah there's no space, literally half the washroom including a shower was added in that renovation lmao
washroom would've been almost entirely redone
my favorite asbestos product is asbestos cigarette filters
lmfao
that's like imagine one day we realize that polyester was bad for you.... oh wait...
wait you weren't joking
micronite is asbestos
wth LMAOOOO
pain in the ass to work with too
running cables after the fact is super annoying with spray foam
A little asbestos goes a long way. Really separates the men from the little girls.
You never hade a choice, Google just likes to imagine you do have one
if it's off, it's off. The choice on whether you want to use gemini or assistant has nothing to do with if its off
Have you played LGPE?
The AI icl is somewhat useful but is so shit when it is
now i really wanna sell my desktop and buy the asus tuf a14. but i dunno if i wanna buy it with the ryzen AI MAX+ 392 or with the ryzen ai 7 350 and rtx 5060
it's like a dimmer + switch, if a switch is off, it doesn't matter whether your dimmer is set to high or low
It still pops up even tho I pressed turn off
ok nvm then that's stupid LOL
Is snail still here
this is what u get for getting a samsung
I hate ai assistants on my phone so much
I can’t tag him
It's not a Samsung
nah gemini has been pretty ayt on my pixel lately
That’s why I’d rather die than get a Google phone
Yeah it would be really good at trapping heat in the winter
this?
Save us money on heating
It's not a Google phone 😭
I’m not having an AI assistant tell me how my yo tube video is
then why do you have comic sans system font?
google has no idea waht LGPE is lol
Nah Google phones do the same shit I hate it
Let's go Pikachu and eevee
no
Google phones are the only ones that support grapheneOS which is exactly what you're looking for actually, methinks.
Google pays off every android phone maker to add the stupid bloat
I would be perfectly fine with an old fashioned flip phone that does the bare minimum
fym pays off they own android lmfao
Graphene is peak I wish I had a Google pixel
only custom aosp based roms do not come with gapps
this btw is why the American gov't wanted to force google to spin off android from the rest of the company
I thought android was a platform
Android Open Source Project is owned and maintained by Google
I mean I might be hating just because I hate this but everything has to be AI push
But I’d give it 2-3 years before the hype dies down
The ai bubble is gonna end with no funding or Jarvis
And will lead to Ultron
The only brand that used Google AOSP and switched to their own Kernel is Huawei
It’s literally on the back of investors waking up to the reality of pouring billions into a project that clearly isn’t giving profit isn’t really a good idea
Eh
OpenAI was supposed to be gone by 2027 until Israel happened
OpenAI is literally only a thing because nvidia keeps bailing them out
they were due to shut down November until they reinvested a nice 40B
Company slop
yup yup
well, OpenAI was also Nvidia's only customer for their AI focused thing
Not really true
Every company ever buys chips from them
DGX1
OpenAI is just a huge huge foundation for AI and everyone and their mother uses them
But now all the big companies are catching up, and have their own ai models
So now it’s becoming entirely useless
OpenAI was the first and for a while, the only customer for Nvidia's DGX 1
Fair point
so it's almost a grandfathered in transaction here
holy shit I knew the redmagic 9 pro has bad cameras but damn i didn't know they're this garbage
eventually investors will be pissy Becuase of the fact their wasting their time when Google has Gemini and we have like 5 different AI models
in a way, Nvidia has to thank openai for using their chips and popularizing LLMs
even my google pixel 1st gen takes better pictures than this
Brother, Pixels were so far ahead of the game for so long
the RM 9 Pro is... wait it's 2024
eh typical
pixel is 2016
Redmagic 8 years behind and still mid for 8 years ago
10 trillion to Israel
I mean I only have apple because of my providers deal
Deadass might get a Samsung next year for the first time
don't bother
samsung is genuinely one of the worst android brands
get a vivo, oppo, oneplus or something else
True
nah they're alright
S26U privacy screen is pretty awesome
the base models are a big avoid though
yeah mate i love that my screen is permanently dogshit quality
it's first gen tech
I don't mind it, look at the pricing rumours for the iPhone fold
Yall i wanna use edge to take advantage of high resolution netflix and disney plus but idk if its worth using the slop browser
Truth nuke
folds are always expensive
they start at 2k
also it's going to be the best foldable in the market
so it's understandable it's 2799 price tag i think it was
so far only Pixel has the best foldable design
pixel fold 2023
And it also blows up
huh
Pixel folds have had a big design issue for a while
And on the latest model it caused the phone to explode
the browsers don't support 4K
use the app
Edge is now chrome, and doens't support 4K netflix / disney
do you think the 2023 pixel fold is the latest model
I forgot they had apps
let's think for a little now
Those apps are probably web stuff anyway
let's put our thinking caps on
🙁
the newer model should be better not worse
probably, but by not being in the browser, the data stream is "safer"
the newer model's design is worse
mannn i should’ve picked one up
woot was selling a brand new one for like $350 recently
i think 256
they ruined the pixel folds with the redesign of pixel 9 fold
the original pixel fold design was perfect
it's understandable why apple is copying it
Y'all know Pikachu?
no
Dang
bradar give me foldable phone please its my dream
fuck you bradar next comment
which one is the fold
both
ok
Oh yeah that old one was kinda goat
pixel fold 9 pro on the left and pixel fold 2023 on the right
kinda? it is the goat
so goated that even apple is copying it lol
I think when the iphone 22 comes out ill upgrade
Or maybe when support is dropped for the 16 pro max
bad goyim
Bradar
hackintoshing old hardware is always a joy (/j)
He's dead ❤️
hope not
I hate crt’s </3
thats what they want you to think
Why would you fund Israel?
@ebon marlin
I found this random shitty handheld with 64GB of storage, allegedly runs on Linux
Why not
to fund more missiles
sounds like garbage
unless it's a 64gb steam deck model?
I know
That's the entire charm of it
Dogshit ❤️
Nope
I'll just fund Iran at that point
no bueno
Iran impressed
the israeli families need more missiles
The Rothschild need money
they're going to starve to death without your help to fund the missiles
True
I would
But they're funding us instead lmao
ay caramba
For trying to run Linux.. Unless it's somehow good enough for very basic Linux
It looked like a cool retro handheld until I looked further
Meow
you need a keyboard to run linux
"found" "random shitty" and its the most popuar retro handhed
keyboard is bare minimum
Steam deck
Wait whar
Genius
r36s is very popular bradar
mate that shit won't even run steamos without lagging
Android is also based on linux
world's biggest geek
Barely
Never heard of it 💔
It could be running android and they can say it's running Linux 😭
never looked into retro handhelds then
it's popular because its cheap but it's also very weak
So it allegedly has a Cortex-A35 CPU
There's much better for retro handhelds
its been out for years too
I hope apple keeps making the macbook neo
/ RK3326
i remember seeing them for like 10-15$
I recommend the miyoo flip, it's based on a GBA SP
This one is $35
No clue about the performance but it runs stardew valley
Honestly I just looked at it because it allegedly has a Linux system on it
too much
And I kinda like the idea of having a Linux machine on the go lol - even if pretty much useless
Most retro handhelds run on linux
Just very bare bones, think steamOS but for retro arch
There was this other one that I forgot the name of that was based on the GBA I think
Soon enough asahi linux will support the macbook neo
Retroid pocket flip is another one i recommend
Is there a way to get them to run a normal Linux OS
With a keyboard or such ofc
I dont think so, what they run is closer to android and not really Linux
why
most of them are android i believe
Aw
Unfortunate
The R36S is a budget handheld that packs some impressive quality for its $40 price point. Plus it rests on the shoulders of other RK3326 devices, making it good for either plug-and-play gaming or testing out a variety of custom firmware possibilities.
Buy one here (try another link if they are sold out):

I can't believe it

Did you know if you buy a $2k gaming computer you can also emulate retro game consoles?
I don't expect that thing to run anything newer then PS1/PSP/N64 honestly
I remember when the retroid pocket came out
np
and even then I don't expect higher then native and I expect slowdowns in N64
do it
BUT there are "fakes" of the R36S out there tho
50$ LOL
That's not a lot of money
not worth 50
I mean, I could probably buy it for whenever I don't have Internet
These reviews are over 2 years old for one LOL
Yes it is
Or try to toy around and make it run the Torvalds OS
Also sub $50 isn't a bad place to be
If you want a Gameboy advanced that you can't even get software on, thatll set you back $100
It's $39 here
Are you one of the many retro gaming enthusiasts who picked up an affordable R36S clone, R36 Max, or Kinhank K36, only to be disappointed by the pre-installed Emuelec operating system? While these low-budget handhelds offer great value, their firmware often leaves a lot to be desired. But don't worry, you don't have to put up with frustrating me...
Based on what exactly?
There's also higher end options it seems
Yeah retro Game Corps said $40
Like the steam deck
Found these two
So many retro handhelds out
I have no steam decks locally that aren't $620 OLED decks
eBay?
The likes of Anbernic and OnexPlayer and Retroid have really saturated that market with so many options
There's nothing of that sort where I am
LCD decks went out of production
eBay is global?
Also I don't want to pay more than like $100 for something like this
Unless you live in a small village that has no mail service
PRetty sure I am missing a name or 2 in that mix would need to check Taki Udons channel for other names LOL
Internationally maybe
If you are looking into buying your first emulation handheld, this is the video for you. In this deep dive comparison, we review the Miyoo Mini Plus, RG35XX Plus, R36S, and the RG35XX.
RG35XX Plus: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DB3Bwax
R36S: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBu7dEJ
Miyoo Mini Plus: https://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DFQRoYB...
But the buyer doesn't pay for shipping
I don't think anyone from Lebanon is putting stuff on EBay
Wdym 💔
I'm mistaken
Definitely watching
Gimme a minute
A what
Gameboy Advanced SP, akshually
alr chat, i might free myself from consumerism, and get a 2080 ti
That's what I said GBA sp
That's just not true lol
On set price listings shipping is usually included in the price
Can you read before commenting on my message
Brother you said a fold and sent a picture
I admitted to being mistaken
Never
I personally can't do veritcal handhelds without my wrists screaming at me
$80 item
I'm not even gonna waste my time replying to a vtuber
For that one yes
Most handhelds aren't gonna have a hinge either, most of em are 3D printed
i got my 9070xt now, but im getting black screens for a second while playing cod, whats the cause?
Bro you just gotta get $50 4 times
Think about it
That's like a week's worth of work right there
My name specifically says that I'm not a VTuber Mr. Murray
I am not paying $200 for a simple project item
I personally just use my 8.8" android tablet with SD8G3 and 12gb of ram with a controller
Nah it says v tuber
That's 1-2 months of salary on my end
Yeah that's the point, supposed to 🪝 idiots like yourself
I genuinely just want a retro console that I can put Linux on
