I have a sandwich case so behind is the GPU chamber with another open side . I could probably jam it back there. I was going to stick it up in a hidden spot in the top of the case but this case has an LCD add on you can install there i was thinking of later so it's just sitting next to the GPU in a sad pile of cables.

Tbh I like old cases more
You can paint it, cut it, weld it or anything to make it batter

vital zenith
#

They make white hubs now I was just disgusted they shipped a black one with the white fan kit.

#

I think I'm going to stick it up where the LCD screen isn't since I haven't invested in it I just have to figure out what to do with all the cables.

#

The Thermaltake TR100 was a decent choice for a first build for me and I picked it because I like the blue it came in really and nothing else was speaking to me but it's one of those both sides mesh sandwich cases where there's no good place to manage cables.

there is a funny thing you can do if you dont wanna write a font for an OS

I keep wondering why Thermaltake put the motherboard in upside down instead of right side up on the other side and the GPU vertical upside down but I guess theoretically they think the left chamber is the front like a fish tank case so they put the GPU in there? The fact the PSU and the motherboard are both upside down on the right side and that's the side I look at in my set up is funny to me.

brave brook
# vital zenith That's not bad at all in that case XD

thinking about it, the fans and RAM was probably the most expensive part in that system:
Machinist E5-K9 was around 66 euros new
2699v3 was 45 euros
4x32GB DDR4-2133 ECC REG wes 110 euros
PSU was 50 euros used
250GB SSD was 20 euros
1080 Ti was 70 euros, plus 40 euros for the aftermarket cooler.
case was 80 euros
Corsair fan controller was 45 euros

Is there any way to make it so that a trackpad can emulate click and drag without having to be pushed down. Ive got a new laptop and I like the trackpad except when having to push it down to click and drag. It makes working on it and especially gaming alot harder. Does anyone have any guidance?

Yeah tap to click or double tap to click has been a thing since Windows 7 it depends on your track pad drivers sometimes.

The main magnet’s plenty strong, it’s just the one that keeps it from twisting that tends to lose its grip, which then makes the corner stick out and lets it get knocked off. Longer term my pan is to maybe upgrade form Ryzen 5 9600x to a Ryzen 7 something X3D if pricing is ever a little better. Possibly switch from air cooling to a 280 AIO if needed at that point. This is the theoretical future where Elder Scrolls 6 finally comes out.

my carrier just offered a sweet deal with the S26 ultra. I bought my dad one

vital zenith
# gaunt spade wat case is it

Thermaltake TR100 Hydrangea blue. It's kind of interesting. It's kind of a big SFF case because they made it with space for a 280 AIO on top and it can accommodate pretty large GPUs.

So I have that matched to the blue if I ever one to get it or rig up a different one.

Thermalright has been killing it. The case is Thermaltake but my air cooling is Thermalright. I needed an under 66mm cooler so it was them or Noctua and Noctua is ... Brown and twice as expensive so I was super pleased to get an all white, RGB 60mm cooler for like $30 USD from Thermalright.

woven wigeon
#

Guess when was this thing made

vital zenith
#

Not at this time. I'm only running a Ryzen 5 9600X right now which is only 65w and the case has open air access on the side for air cooling which was also cheaper. I have two 140mm fans on top exhausting the whole case instead.

If I upgrade my processor in the future I might go for an AIO but there's not a lot of point investing in an expensive AIO pump that will eventually fail when I don't really need to redirect a lot of heat to a radiator.

vital zenith

AIO support for the Thermaltake TR100 is also more limited than it at first appears. You can fit 240mm or 280mm but they can't be super thick so only some will fit (especially if you want a white one). Thermaltake of course makes one that fit but they're not super cheap.

vital zenith
#

I'm not doing anything too crazy right now with my system that requires maximum power and maximum cooling and I was actually considering just buying a Mini PC when switching from an ultra portable but aging laptop setup to a desktop setup with a monitor last year. I hedged my butts with a good price on an efficient Ryzen 5 9600x and future AM5 upgrade options for CPU and cooling when I'll probably want more power if Bethesda ever releases Elder Scrolls 6. In the meantime I can finally run the majority of games and I don't play FPS or competitive stuff.

Cards usually need a PCIE connection either directly slotting into the motherboard or with a PCIE riser cable and then either need additional power cord from PSU or not if they are low power cards that can just draw motherboard power.

gaunt spade
vital zenith
vital zenith
# gaunt spade do you know any sff case wich would support a 360mm aio and a sfx psu

I don't know of any that take a 360mm AIO. By that point the whole case is getting to be pretty large and not so SFX anymore but there might be some really specialized ones. The smaller the case and tight the configuration the more limited you are on parts though. Like there are some really precise SFX cases but some of them are pretty much only compatible with specific parts they were designed for.

vital zenith
# gaunt spade true

I could be crazy and buy a white motherboard too but I don't know what I'd do with the one i have now. I'd consider building a new system to sell except for RAM and storage prices being insane. Perhaps if things get better. I do have a sibling maybe eventually will need a new system I can pass it to.

glacial cliff
rigid fjord
vital zenith
#

For now though, there's no real reason for me to water cool my system. We actually had to replace the little single fan AIO in my sibling's NZXT system with an air cooler last year because the pump had died and luckily I'd just gotten comfortable parts shopping and cracking things open. I don't understand why on earth they even put an AIO that small in a configuration that could support an air cooler venting directly out the same side pannel.

I assume they charged more for "water cooling" on that prebuilt but it was so silly.

you did catch me in a good point, while i claiemd to not care about aesthetics, i should have been mroe specific, i meant in general. The aesthetics I do care about in some cases is uniformity, and the fans matching was important to me (important enough to essentially spend $100 on 1 fan, for example)

Buit how well does it help for structural interconenctedness? (genuine question! im curious!) do the conencted fans stay pretty well together (not perfect of course, there wll be some flex), or does it not help with any strctural rigidity of interconnectedness at all? You are in the BIOS which is the basic motherboard software. You have no operating system to boot into but the BIOS until you install Windows or Linux.

#

sums ofc

#

also many people surprisingly don’t know how to calculate percentage but the fastest way when you’re comparing is to just divide the bigger number with the smaller one or visa versa

#

the rest is simple hopefully

#

no you can see that it's still single 12v-2x6

#

just plug it in all the way, use a 0.95v limit, and pray

steel umbra
#

just asking so i’m not outdated

#

well load balancing doesn’t solve everything you can still have a cable w load balancing melt due to when it doesn’t work… but better than nothing

livid perch
#

i did get a lil too exited and ordered them before adding in the Ip17pm for my mom tho

livid perch
#

i dont think At t will give my phones to me even when they get it tomarrow cuz they said "Theyll come after the 11th"

teal sphinx
#

mmm

#

no idea i am using a budget tier samsung

#

a16 5g to be exact

livid perch
#

not a bad phone

#

ill prob get one as my secondary to use as my unlocked phone on international trips

#

i was thinking of either a a16 or a a36 but i dont think ill have to go with the a36 cuz the a16 is good or even too good for anything Ill use it for

teal sphinx
#

Well it is much better than my previous phone but it isn't that great either

#

The camera kinda sucks unless you have a lot of light and can hold your hand steady af

stoic nova
teal sphinx
#

And you can't decline them. Is that even legal?

stoic nova
#

To decline would be...no software

livid perch
#

and to share mobile data to my main phone

#

so itll be more than enough probably

#

it aint too bulky so wont be a mssive hassle to carry it with the main phone]

teal sphinx
#

Time to get a really cheap Xiaomi phone with 5g

livid perch
#

especially their cameras

teal sphinx

Their software suck imo

livid perch
#

only reason im not getting one cuz the US companies dont offer it lol

oh via carrier?

livid perch
#

yeahh

#

thats why i need an unlocked secondary lol

teal sphinx
#

Honestly I don't understand when carrier decide to Telco lock you and when they dont

livid perch
#

i got 1100 for my S22u that has a cracked back and front glass

#

only gotta pay like 5 dollars each month for 3 years

#

so like 180 dollars in total for the phone

teal sphinx
#

Wtf where you find deal like that

livid perch
#

and i wont need to move carriers cuz At t aint bad its actually the best for my state

teal sphinx
#

There are no way the Telco are earning anything

livid perch
teal sphinx
#

I've never seen anything similar in my country

livid perch
#

i mean trading in a cracked 4 year old phone for 1100 is dope

livid perch
#

traded in a cracked A32 5g and got 1000 off

teal sphinx
#

Huhhh

#

Telco trade in in my country usually suck so much you might as well trade into Samsung themselves

#

Even in pristine condition there are no way you are getting more than half the original price

livid perch
#

I mean At t does these campaigns every time a big company releases a new phone

#

for like a month then they are the same

teal sphinx
#

That's nice

livid perch
#

but i mean youd want to upgrade when the phone arrives anyway so like the time you upgrade will be when there is a campaign mostly and i think the deal is quite sweet

teal sphinx
#

Sadly I've never seen anything similar in my country. At least not to that extent

livid perch
#

u can even upgrade every year without any difference if you pay 10$ monthly

livid perch
#

its the vadofone of the US

stoic nova
#

Idk man

#

Works?

livid perch
#

only thing i hear about them is ass

#

never used em

#

at least for me i didnt see any reason with going with them because the deals they give are generally equal or worse to better providers like t mobile or at t

#

wouldnt mind checking them out some time tho

stoic nova
#

I think I'm just a really old customer with them

#

Better part of 19 years with them by now? Idk but.

livid perch
#

oo thats dope

stoic nova
#

I don't think I pay too much

livid perch
#

ive used Turk telekom in turkey for like 12 years because my father worked there

#

and last summer when i went to turkey for the summer vacation

#

them mfs lit scammed me

teal sphinx
#

btw our telco also doing promotion for trade in

#

but s22 ultra would yield you 200$ off

livid perch
#

i got a 7000 lira bill from using 2gb because i appreantly over used it whilest my phone was lit not unlocked

#

and appreantly the data dont just close when it runs out

#

what kind of system is that bro

stoic nova
#

They actually trade in like they intend to resell it?

teal sphinx
#

oh with cracked back you would trade in for 80$

livid perch
stoic nova
#

Dude our trade ins are arbitrary. I think they scrap what isn't newer than 2 years. Their goal is just to get you on yearly contracts

livid perch
teal sphinx
livid perch
teal sphinx
#

OHHH

stoic nova
#

Holy man

teal sphinx
#

i thought you were paying 5$?

livid perch
#

for 4 lines and 3 new phones and 1 unlocked one

livid perch
stoic nova
#

Turk telecom

teal sphinx
livid perch
teal sphinx
#

Now it makes way more sense

#

i was like thea telco is basically giving you free phone

stoic nova
#

Oh he's a dad

livid perch
#

i mean 4 unlimited lines, 2 S26u, 1 17pm and 1 payed off other iphone

#

for 180 aint that bad

#

that 180 includes the lines and the 5 dollars each for the locked phones

stoic nova
#

At one point unlimited data used to mean. Unlimited if not congested

teal sphinx
#

Can you unlock them after contract ended?

stoic nova
#

I don't think that's a thing anymore right

livid perch
stoic nova
#
