i just wish i had money for the same drives we use for backup at work,
i dump 2 Samsung t7 drives at like 600mbps each onto spinning rust at work

had to convince the IT boss to splurge on the better type C card to get that speed, and got the leverage cause the card he put in failed

he build the backup machine with a 4 port 1 controller usb 3.1 card and i convinced him to get a 4 controller 4 port card

and on enterprise dual head hdd's it makes a difference

its an 80TB raid array that we use to backup all records from gigs we work and some shows are recorded by the techs at (sometimes unreasonable) bitrates but i back it up no matter what cause people fuck shit up

we dont often use a PC to record but rather something like an AJA KiPro Ultra

We do AV for sometimes dozens of cameras, no single PC can do it lol

Guys I need some advice the other day my 2019 iMacs fan seems to have “died” it just no longer spins up at all automatically or even with manually control with software.

I have tried SMC resets multiple times but no luck, I ran the built in diagnostic test and all that came back was “There may be a problem with your camera” I managed to get the system to stay booted in macOS for long enough to see the camera seemed fine.

Is it worth getting someone to open it up and potentially replace the fan or does the diagnostic test results suggest the problem could be even with the logic board or something

first disable global c-states in BIOS, then try broken CPU again again. If it works, then your CPU degraded in a way that it can park the unused cores (feature introduced in 5000 series), but with degradation it sometimes can't bring them back out of parking, thus causing a lockup.

Bought this for my hp laptop as there were no hp version available. Laptop charger is 19.5V 2.31A 45W. Everything i am connecting is able to support 100w, charger, cable, the adaptor. When the laptop is on i see that the adaptor uses 20V instead of 19.5 and laptop doesn't see it as a wall charger but still draws the required amount of watts and adjusts the amperage down when it's full. However it doesn't charge when the laptop is off.
