hey i have a long question, firstly my current rig has a ryzen 7 2700x and an rx 6700xt withg 16 gb of ram. i am however thinking about getting an amd bc250 sbc because it looks very amusing, its really small and i can 3d print a case for it. now i know that my current hardware is much stronger than this, but what performance diffrence should i expect? i read that its performance is around an rx 6600xt. I dont need too much performance, the only AAA heavy game i play is space marine 2, and older game or indi games that i know would work great under this hardware. the thing i am afraid of is buying this and keeping my current rig is just useless and selling my current pc makes feel anxious about what if i will need the power that it had. I would have loved a solution that would let me keep my old gpu and connect it to the pc externally but unfortunatly that is not an option if im correct. so yeah, kind of afraid about future proofing.

• 6 cpu cores
• 6 gigs of ram allocated
• Up to around 256-480 gigs of storage
• Use any optimization mods specifically for server-side, like FerriteCore, C2ME, Chunky, and so on.

I wouldn't use it, unless you're using something experimental for way faster chunk loading, like a recent build of Concurrent Chunk Management Engine (C2ME) that I've been a beta tester for lately that uses the gpu for such. Though at the same time, I wouldn't even do that unless your choice of mods are all Fabric-based and you choose not to use Chunky.

MMmmm okay so after some looking... It's not entirely clear which one is exactly better, though to be on the safe side... I'd say just the old computer, for easier setup.

With a Pi, it takes a bit more work and there isn't too much testing with mods that I'm aware of to be able to go off of for how well that will run, especially since you want to do a small modded server.

I'm also gonna add that if that old rig is not used for anything else in particular, you could also try installing a Linux distro to it to get any performance and control concerns out of the way if there isn't one on there already. If you want help with that, the #linux also exists and the guys there might have some better tips than I can provide for that at this time.

Last thing I can suggest is clear CMOS. Either push the button, jump the pins with a screwdriver, or remove the clock battery for 30 seconds to a few mins depending on your motherboard. See manufacturers instructions

hi guys so I am very anxious about this but I want to build a new pc. Reason? my pc runs 71C gaming 1440p because of my tiny restricted bad airflow case.

I have parts picked out (I already have ram, cpu, gpu and some fans to use) but I am upgrading a lot of stuff as then selling my old pc to my brother.

I am super anxious about doing this as I haven’t built a PC in my life I have only upgraded my current pc (everything besides motherboard and psu)..

I found some parts online did some research and this is what I came out with:

rx 6750xt 12gb 2 fan OC msi
4 SATA SSD’s)
32GB DDR4 3200Mhz

AIO has more points of failure and isnt worth unless you have a really high power CPU like a I9 or R9

even then beefy air coolers still manage fine
