Out of the major browsers, it does hog memory without extensions. Safari and Edge are not as demanding. Chrome is extremely stable and interoperable with a lot of different things natively, no extensions needed.

I have one of those in my Lenovo Yoga 7i (16") 82UF0015US too, albeit with A370M graphics. I mostly use the iGPU though cause they're plenty good for light tasks.

No idea. I haven't measured temps on this laptop in forever. It gets toasty though as the Yoga (non-pro) chassis aren't meant for prolonged use at maximum performance.

I trust the reported RAM usage in Windows about as far as I can throw Satya Nadella. My system has none of the "extras" people complain about (because I read and change the prompts when installing my OS / software) and it idles around 15-20GB / 48GB memory usage. unused RAM is wasted RAM.

Inb4 people who don't already know find out the Windows 8/8.1/10/11 Settings app is literally just a web app running locally. Tis also the reason why removing Edge WebView2 from the OS breaks many things. And then people wonder why their OS doesn't work...

Not all web apps are bad... But my experience has shown that many web apps are tested in a vacuum with perfect network conditions on a limited set of hardware. Same with mobile apps. If the user has to "clear cache / cookies" to regularly fix a problem, the website / app has been designed poorly.

web apps can be so much easier to maintain and update but at the cost of a lot more resource use

you need to search up the entire name of your motherboard go to the website for it then support then the latest bios then download the file extract it put that file on the usb stick plug it into the computer before you turn it on go to bios then update the bios and you are done

on mac, and some linux distros nowadays you can make web apps more resoruce friendly using their built in web app thing instead of downloading Electron for so many apps. So with mac I know, if I make Discord a web app, it will be efficient as Safari, as it's a safari wrapper... so i haven't used the desktop discord app on mac for years.
