this allows ALL of the current to go over a single pair, and the card has no idea if this is happening

there is NO balancing between the pins, and they are run much closer to their actual limits than they are for 8pins

that is a much much safer implementation, as seen by a 9070XT (300w card) being able to burn a 12vhpwr but a 3090 (450w card) having no issues with its nv12

because it actually had a safety mechanism for if you cut 5/6ths of the cables
