I feel compelled to share this because it’s insane for its profile, I bought a laptop at Best Buy, open box excellent, for school, I am going for cyber security and want to get into AI as well so I opted to get something with a bit more beef. I ended up on an Omnibook X flip 2/1 with a 3K OLED & Ultra 288v / 140V GPU. I was not planning on gaming on it, however, my curiosity got the best of me and I installed some benchmarking software as I have done with my gaming computers before life got real; CinebenchR23/2024/2026 3DMark ETC.
Turns out this OpenBox/Excellent return was actually a golden unicorn bin. I currently have the record for the highest Ultra 9 288V in R23/2024. What’s even more mind-boggling ( This is a 2/1 with no special cooling or gaming profile at all) is that the 10 minute benchmark it averaged 180f and 3.956 ghz P 3.7 pegged E whole test. No thermal throttling at all. Am I going crazy or is this normal for laptops now???

P95 Max L1/2/3 Stress - 10M - 87 C average at 34.993w package power and 3.325 ghz.
Scores? Cinebench R23 10m - 11,145 at 5.34x mc ratio and 2086 single core putting this chip above every single entry. Crazy for a 2/1 with no gaming or cooling gimmick.

i7 14700k or R7 7800x3D
a bit of context, just upgraded my sister pc to i7 14700k with AK620 G2 and updated mobo. So far no issues have been seen even with XMT memory profile enabled

I do 3d modelling and adobe productivity work so I've been thinking about getting the i7 14700k as well but I am still concern about the degrading issues. The reason I am considering INTEL over AMD Ryzen is because of the huge cores differences on 20 over 8 cores

and clock increases are diminishing compared to the power increase

5800x3d and 7800x3d were so efficient because if they were ran any more aggressively theyd die

In my experience on hd800s

1. plugging it straight into my school computer’s 3.5mm jack, the bass was nice but the treble was weak with “bad” details.
2. using the apple dongle, the treble got super clear and nice but the bass got weaker
3. with my topping (e50l50), I actually like the treble less but because it’s a little less loud. The details up there are equally loud because you won’t hear a difference unless golden ears. The bass was really nice though, but this change from the 9 dollars apple dongle is absolutely not worth the money, but maybe for under 100 dollars

People will claim to hear a lot more but I can’t really tell that much and it’s all really close to me.

You may have the realization that I had when moving from 3440x1440 to 4K when I had a 3090. Suddenly your GPU doesn't feel as powerful as it once did and you might have to drop down from DLSS (or in your case FSR) Quality to Balanced mode to keep the performance experience you once had. 4K is a huge jump in pixel count. I had to go to 4090 before I was really happy.
