The cage they're in had a weak spot on the original Abrams design and when I was in the military it was fairly common for engineers to be tasked with welding that cage back together when it snaps

welllllll someone in my unit learned a heat blanket fits over the board perfectly so we stopped stripping them and just welded them as is

I'm looking into building a NAS. I was thinking of getting a DAS and hooking it up to an old server over USB 3.0 and use TrueNAS + RAID + ZFS. LLMs say that zfs over USB 3.0 can fail because of timeouts and error handling. Has anyone experienced this or are the LLMs blowing smoke?

Before ~16:00, the smart plug was including both the server outside UPS and also anything behind the UPS; then after 16 i got back from the store with a dedicated extension cord for UPS and extension cords for other stuff, so from 16:00 the smart plug is measuring only the UPS
