But the sensor has 50mp in a quad Bayer arrangement; basically it's a 12.5mp sensor where each pixel is broken into 4 segments

In good lighting, you can use all these pixels for full res images

I cannot make out the difference. You could try taking another picture from a different angle in hopes there's less glare. Or close the coverings on your Windows to reduce the amount of light in the room. Also, you can tell how old a TV is by looking up the full model number, which can be found on a sticker on the back of the TV.
