I was just telling you that its not trash 🥀
I just ordered the Xioami G27QI a 1440p Ips 180hz monitor, upgrading from 1050p 60hz hope it is worth it!!
i need a laptop for campus 😭😭😭
Just get a macbook air
i might make this one a server or i install something on it so i can make it for streaming services only like a tv
ive heard it isnt the best
In what way
like in support
and like windows are better buck to performance
or whatever they said
Nice joke
woah actually?
Dayum, look at the RAM
what kinda ram is that
Yeah, apple silicon macs are far better
Looks like SODIMM, laptop ram
see i got this laptop for 800 usd
i upgraded the ram from 8 to 24
Thats not great
Nice ram upgrade
yeah but this was 2020
and i didnt know anything about tech
i just saw its touch screen and flips
@pale heath completely ignoring performance, apple silicon is far better for battery life and heat
can it render like anatomy and like human 3d models well?
Id have to check with my macbook
That’s expensive
If you’re doing stuff like that, stay with windows, apples pro models are the only ones id recommend for tasks like that, and the pro’s are kinda overpriced tbh
I have an m1 max mbp 14”
The m4 Mac air is like $750
But they’re not great for 3d modelling
The pro’s are far better in that aspect
yeah because im doing med school and i want it to be able to run my stuff
I was comparing to the laptop they have now
Try to see if you can get a good deal on a used m2 pro or m3 pro macbook pro 14”
thise released on march 2025
i got my laptop on febuary 2020
Ik, I saw you said yours is 2020
i have a bad experience with used stuff i have to get new
You’re buying from the wrong places then

I WANT TO USE THE BATHROOM
then go piss nobody is stopping u 😭
@ivory mountain wanna know the most infuriating thing i encounter at work?
i am now
people having bad opsec?
i got it from like online markets
No, people who ask for discounts after i told them we dont do discounts on apple devices
where you have to meet the person
why do people ask for discounts if there isn’t on the label
I have no idea
im a barista right, i make coffee and stuff
they ask for discounts on the coffee
like maam, the price is already cheap is cant go cheapER
One dude returned a set of airpods pro 3’s because he found them for $10 cad cheaper at walmart
TEN?
Yes
i hope it was worth the gas
I wouldn’t do this, but if I knew before hand that it was cheaper I’d get that one
he probably spent more going around
It wasnt, because the drive is around $10 worth of gas
LMAOOO
i made the huge mistake of buying samsung pros with my iphone
Another person was asking for a discount on one of our previous gen devices even though we had already taken $860 cad off the price because it was old stock we needed to get rid of
some people are just never grateful
Then again, people like this are also the type to finance something like a 17 pro max even though they already have a 16 pro max
why would they do that
also my 16 pro max lags for some reason
4 words
“People. are. fucking. stupid”
@pale heath another dude traded in his 17 pro to get the iphone air
what
are you serious
Hah, I just finally got off of my 12 mini and financed a 17 pro max
Yes
It’s such a nice switch
oh that must feel so good
I also switched providers so the phone only costs me $2.XX/month
So after 3 years I own it, for like $70 + $440 for an iPhone 15 I traded in and bought
WOO WHAT A DEAL
emulation is so peakkkk
I used the last of my brain cells for it
I also get an iPad A16 and Apple Watch SE 3rd Gen for $1/month each
It’s a good deal overall, pair the home Internet and a single phone line that’s 20% off of the phone line + 10% off of the phone line for being a student
too much work, i use chatgpt for this stuff
So I’m paying $40/month for everything overall, for 3 years
@frigid blade i just own my 16 pro max
I bought my 12 mini cash but if it’s a better deal I will always finance
surprisingly i dont buy any like phone or number plans and i hava data?? how
They get you when you stay on their plan
WiFi?
Your parents? Idk

Bought a new Wi-Fi card, the latest and greatest with bluetooth (something).4 and Wi-Fi 7. Yet somehow it's worse than my TUF GAMING B650-E WIFI
.. Say, does it matter which cable goes into which port when they're unmarked?
peace out everyone
If you're talking about the WiFi Antennas, usually no. What is the exact make/model of WiFi card you got? You may also link directly to the website you purchased it from. (If linking, remove everything after the first ? in the link.)
Shenzhen Fenvi Technology Co., Ltd.
FENVI QCNCM865 WiFi 7 Card with Bluetooth 5.3 | 5800Mbps Tri-Band M.2 Module | for AMD Motherboards & Windows 11 | MLO Technology for Ultra-Low Latency Features: Next-Gen WiFi 7 Speed: Experience the future of wireless with the cutting-edge QCNCM865 chip. Achieve staggering speeds up to 5.8 Gbps ...
And I've tried all of the lovely things Amazon suggested, which weren't bad.
Define "worse than"
It disconnects more frequently?
Slower speeds than expected?
I also tried turning off the other wi-fi card and moving the antenna.
For worse, a touch slower + up to 2x the ping
Not looking good, chief. https://www.reddit.com/r/framework/comments/1ekbqce/any_downside_to_the_qcncm865/
Well that's just fine and dandy.
Went with what I thought was a new, up to date chip that plays well with AMD
That's a really common wifi chip used in plenty of motherboards, including mine now that I see that model.
.. This is my third attempt on a card now. Wth does someone buy if they have AMD and a low-profile bracket?
Any WiFi card using an Intel AX210 (or equivalent) chipset has worked well in my experience.
And yet I heard everywhere that Intel chips don't play too well with AMD
🤷
Elf
I think cloud gaming will become more popular in future
Assuming it doesn't die due to low profitability.
As long as it's sustainable, it's extremely convenient.
dear tech chat: my heatspreader has fallen off on one side of the ram stick. what do i do
morning to you too
You can save yourself $50ish by going with a thermalright 360mm aio, and i know ram is insane rn but if its possible to find cl30 6000 instead of cl36 for the same ish price id try that
Cas latency isnt really important if youre not manually tuning ur ram
Other than that, in my not very experienced pc building brain, id say its solid
See thats something I wouldnt know lol
Paying more for higher speed RAM is usually one of the worst ways to spend money to gain performance.
At least RGB makes you go 300% faster.
^Me who runs DDR5 at 3600MT/s
ram is one of easyest places to gain large amounts of performance but yes many do overspend on kind of slow ram
lets hope its not a letdown
140v is already beating 890m
Unless intel just full on lied we have already seen it play pretty high quality games with decent fps
is it using a tile based desine?
the way LP ecoers work by running on IO tile right?
Interesting, are you referring to RAM speed or quantity?
performance not GB
Perhaps depending on the CPU, there are cases where extremely fast, expensive ram has marginally more gain than average quality ram.
fast ram is offen cheap
Perhaps we have a difference in definition and that's causing confusion.
For me the average ram people buy, even below the "sweet spot" for platforms are cheap enough. Fast RAM are those that go well beyond the sweet spot
So 6000MT/s CL30 is decent RAM for AM5
no its not
8000MT/s is very fast
on am5 its slower in many cases
But is pretty expensive, and gives relatively low gains.
Assuming it runs on 8000MT/s
are you meaning just load xmp and that it?
If you want to add in the discussion of stability on AM5, that's another discussion that's irrelevant of if the RAM is fast or not.
Hasn't that issue been fixed literally a year ago
You can easily run 8000 MT/s on AM5 now lol
this was meta for getting good cheap ram before ram apoculuse it was able to be gotten for like $80
Yes, I'm referring to RAM kits that have profiles that run significantly faster than JEDEC.
"Fast" is a subjective term. Let's say 6400MT/s CL32 or higher speeds
Just so we have a clear definition.
Should you? Of course not
But it can do it
are you meaning just load xmp or running good ram settings?
Decent quality motherboards should be able to these days.
Some can't, wouldn't recommend those unless you're going for low price.
Excited to see the Panther lake laptops that are going to come out.
Yes once again. That was an answer to your earlier question.
wait am i blind?
ok yes those are ripoff
xmp is shit vs good ram settings
You're acting like that matters for 99% of pc users
Different processors might benefit more from faster RAM speeds, but I maintain that once you hit that sweet spot, which in the past ain't that expensive, faster RAM really don't give you much.
With X3D chips specifically, the benefits for gaming at least is minimal. With other workloads, it can take a hit, but not much.
Was running DDR5-3600MT/s CL40 for a while, really only took a 10% hit in the worst case for things like Cinebench, Photoshop, etc.
and if you get kit with h16a its offen not hard to get 7200+ and good timings
Besides, even fine tuned timings (which take a lot of work to get truly stable) don't really give you much performance.
10% in cinebench WTF that is one workload that nomral dose not give a fuck about ram perfmince
Yep.
even if you just used BZ easy timings that your kit from nomral to chart topper easy amusing all others are just xmp
When I swapped HTPCs, it was borderline hilarious how anticlimactic it was swapping from 1600 MT/s to 5600 MT/s when I got a Steam Deck to replace it lmao
Meanwhile for many gaming type stuff, slower RAM speeds really don't matter too much for X3D per these checks:
https://www.techpowerup.com/review/oloy-blade-performance-rgb-ddr5-6000-32-gb-cl30/15.html
I did use Buildzoid's timings. Both my point and Kazumi's still stand.
Not surprised honestly.
Unironically would've kept using that older HTPC if graphic drivers wouldn't have started making issues (GPU was from 2011 lol)
Eventually just reverted back to motherboard's default JEDEC, was more stable as Buildzoid's were still giving memory errors after stress testing.
Tried various more lenient timings but eventually decided, nah, not worth the time.
and i saying ram matter loads for many workloads 30% gains in rust on 7500F just from messing with ram settings is crazy to some
Not much performance loss even when going extremely slow, and much more stable + lower power draw, so it's a win for me.
is it overclocking past expo?
shi new intel stuff
xmp was 5600 somthing to tunned timings at ddr5 6000
is that the main stuff or it's just a lunar lake successor @tidal geyser
only spent like 30 min setting all up then they pinged me next day saying it passed the tests they ran overnight
it shocks me how bad some ddr5 timings are at xmp
Welp, good thing it's little to no gain for me and for the majority of people.
I still maintain my point, spending money on high speed RAM is one of the worst ways to spend money for performance.
Instead of spending more money on RAM, just get decent RAM and spend the money on a better CPU/GPU.
If RAM timing is important for one's specific workload and one is strapped for money, my point remains. Spend the money on better processors and just manually tighten the RAM timings.
Don't spend way more on extremely fast RAM.
you cant spend money on good ram timings there no one who has ram with good timings
It's a lunar lake successor, Nova lake is what's going to be their desktop stuff that is going to come a bit later this year.
expo was 6000, games crashed at 6400
See, you agree with me this whole time.
it didn't help for me
did you tighten timings?
That's what I'm saying, stop spending money on expensive RAM
panther lake uses xe3 aka C class cards cores and yea i do believe it is the successor
cl36 to cl34, windows gets mad
ok so you did not got it
9600MT ram is fun
i seen over ddr5 9000 stable on am5 form a few users
i think it's the bad amd imc controller
What? Panther lake memory controller?
Run 9800MT/s RAM with 9800X3D
yes its commen for 6400 not to work in 1:1
but even just the timings alone at ddr5 6000 with out changing clocks can offen gain more then 10%
as an authorized idiot, i do not know what's 1:1
i just upgraded to windows 11 and i used to use the volume mixer program a lot, i don't like the windows 11 changes
does anyone suggest a good volume mixer? i just like to modify my applications sounds to lower so i can hear on discord
monolithic vs tile/i forgot the name
chiplet
also even if IMC dud offen fclk cranking on its own can help
uclk runs at same clock as ram
vs at 50% of speed of ram
Could someone translate this motherboard talk for me?
top slot is connected to cpu lower slot to chipset
Thx! Just wanted to confirm
I have a silly question: is the noctua nh-l9x65 chromax.black effective for a ryzen 7500f
and the slot size of bottem slot is x16 but its only wired for x1
way too effective
its a 88W cpu it dose not take to much
its SFF pc?
We have been bread-ed
🍞 🍞 🍞
Nah just looking if i have viable option for something that doesnt oook so bulky in the pc
there offen other way cheaper cpu cooler that just fine
just use the box cooler
Didnt come with one, only tray models were available
I will respectfully decline the bread.
1 loaf a day where i am
thermalright assassin 120
I will decline your statement of 'no one can decline the bread'
breading bad
AW
bread taste like dried shoes
atleast it's 18a now
i will ignore your declination of my statment
Still looks so bulky on the model, i could do something real sgupid and put in a water cooler
junk for the U.S
a tiny cooler is BULKY???
have you even seen the peerless
I really hope that Intel can prove that their foundry is capable of delivering by showing how good their 18A processors are. Otherwise they are kind of shit outta luck
I will decline your ignoration of my declination of your statement.
Bro i am looking at it on buildcores and it just looks so off
wdym so off
you can still see your vrm and ram sticks with it
And well, the world could really use more fab capacity of advanced silicon.
nuh uh
yuh uh
🍞 🍞 🍞
they've probably made sure it was good given the fact tsmc is at risk by west taiwan rn
Idk i kinda want it to have that middle area more flush? Idk how to explain
what’s up with the bread spam
That risk has more or less always existed tbh tho
thermalright axp90-x53
well i think they were clearing off pre-gelsinger shi before
Doesn't help that 90% of the worlds advanced silicon is made at that Taiwan fab
the world can't afford tsmc to be in risk
@stray girder stop with the bread spam
It's always been at risk.
Unfortunately
oh
Ooooh- yeah...gonna see if i can find some examole pics or get buildcores to add it to their app
the us made a good example recently, maybe the 🇨🇳 will follow
xd
Meanwhile a good chunk of the world preparing to afford to personally put TSMC in risk for their own benefit xD
is it them fireworks with someplace else?
still insane to just go in the middle of the night blow up stuff kidnap a person who has not gotten a trial.
It just sticks out so much imo.
well that's a 120 mil cooler for you
Just back to how it's always been for 99.99999999999% of humanity's history.
Current state is a miracle to be grateful for, rather than something to be taken for granted.
🇺🇸 ▶️ 🇻🇪
🇨🇳 ▶️ 🇹🇼
what
what website is that?
Buildcores
tyy
yep
i just do it in my head
I wish i could
I could put in a 240mm watercooler...
no
Y not?
you gain no performance for it and in return you get a thing where if it dies it can either make you computer less for weeks or even kill your computer
Ok the computer dying i get but like. I really do not care about gaining performance
i dono save up for a nicer monitor
The 4th gen WOLEDs coming out are really damn good
We'll be seeing a lot of new OLED panels this year
QD-OLEDs too
dude
If only they didn't have the purple glare
Bro your gpu is limp
no the photo is js angled
i dono i just do not have my lights point at it
Ah ok
always fun tho to look at videos when a monitor is off
Personally looking forward to 5k and 6k IPS monitors
I use natural light to light my room and at some times of the day it can get pretty bad.
Finally sharp text on IPS while the world chases OLED, maybe it'll help drive down costs on IPS even more than they already have.
Also that 1080Hz fast IPS lmao
throughout the summer i had my blinds open and had light pouring onto my monitor and yeeaaa i could see it at times
I will look into it.. also scarily close to the build im going for, diffrent gpu but i just used the closest to what i got
chat i wanna upgrade this dell optiplex yeah was planning to buy a 1660 super for 350 sar and spend 150 sar on a psu but its dell and their power supplies are weird and have different connectors any idea how to get past that
1080P at 1080HZ, perfectly balanced, like all things should be.
Unfortunately it's 720p 1080Hz
Now run it on AMD's 10800 XTX or something
Nah give it time they'll get there.
1080p 1080hz powered by 10800 XTX GPU and On 10800X3D CPU
DO NOT buy a optiplex its not worth it
i already own an optiplex
sell it and buy a real pc
nobody in my country is buying ts
Me buying used Optiplexes for near free and upgrading them to sleeper builds
I'm buying it to use as a real PC. I'll make it better than any PC you have. >:D
so a shitty hotbox case
Im looking into a new monitor, 1080p decent color balance and like preferably 120hz or higher, seeing some on sale rn and thinking about it
Lolz, we all know that the 10800 XTX is not happening and the 10800 X3D will probably be called like Ryzen AI 9 Max+ 480 X3D or something
i got a 1080p fast ips with 200hz for 100$
Ryzen AI 9 Premium Pro Max++ 396 X4D
Dahab edition
Saw a samsung odyssey 27' 180hz va monitor for 100€
On sale and i am seriously thinking about it
Hi guy
tryna talk with chinese seller be like
uh huh
1080?
1080p yea
Huh-uh
It's called slang liberal
on 27inch is bad
Have you ever viewed 1080p on a 27 inch monitor in person?
Some are ok with it but most really don't like it. :/
🙂↕️
😳
1080 on 27 is garbo
Leave me alone guy
I mean i have been using a 23' tv as my main screen since i got my first pc some years back
i like 4k on 17
23 isnt a tv
of what
It's a small tv, personally the 27' monitors i saw when i went to the pc store didn't look too bad
Monitor users
I feel like this is the only server I'm not gonna get randomly banned from
😭
100" is a real tv
I tend to get banned because mods don't like 💔
what reason do you get given
I'm annoying
i get banned too
Which I understand
I really enjoyed 4k on 15 inch.
It was so sharp on my old surface book
Looking for this sorta look but i assume these small coolers probably not gonna be too great
real
Too bad it was glossy, gave it to a friend.
cooler looks ahh
case looks giant too
😭
When covid hit, he had no laptop for school so that laptop kinda got passed around to different friends in need, eventually just gave it away.
surfaces are so ahh tho
Its not that big from what i read : 447×215×469mm
what kind of cooler am i looking for with a 9800x3d. was looking at AIOs but didnt know what one to go for. was thinking a thermalright AIO and thermalright case fans since they are super cheap, but i really like the LCD screen on the lian li galahad. any input is appreciated !
Once upon a time, when 23' was considered a giant TV...
giantt
cold breeze
Discord is just Chrome taking up local storage for no reason after all.
the 9800X3D needs almost nothing to be cooled
True
That's the 1920s, not that long ago.
And not that long before the Great Depression.
should i get a big high hz tv
oled 27 2k 240hz monitor
ultrawide 240
wich one
lmao
depression was never great
Except for the amazing innovation it brought during that decade.
Ehh? I was looking foe a case and this seemed to actually be like slightly smaller than the others, i'll find out i guess when the case arrives
Since people were so desperate
I love how the epoch looks ngl
even so, just for aesthetics, is the lianli still good? or is thermalright the way to go, just had someone else glazing thermalright to me in a diff server
Hello guy
i like tiny cases
Legit cat 6a cabling heavy
thermalright is way cheaper for no performance difference
It's not about the size of the case it's about the inside that counts
well it does have extra metal on it
there are cheaper brands then thermalright
who?
any way to get cheaper is just tape a phone to used AIO or something
Who the fuck isbteleporting bread
yeah its not even close, but i kinda fw the looks of the lian li a bit more. would it be a complete pain in the ass to go with the thermal right case fans but use the lianli AIO ?
not me
Jiushark
Overall epoch cost like a 100 eur total so it fit in the budget
look on temu
im not a fan of AIOs to begin with anyways.
Smh, don't look it up there, look it up on aliexpress
me
ive heard that opinion alot, is it just the maintenance of it compared to a tower?
well that would take like 2 weeks or more
I looked them up on Amazon, you can find their cooler there too
a water cooler has water in it, amazing right yea not for the guy where it leaked over his pc, lucky enough not to happen to me but i have 2 dead AIOs around my house.
amazon aint everywhere but yea maybe but how much cheaper are they
as the thermalright AIO with a screen is 54$
oh dang fr? ive had my lian li AIO for like 4 years and havent had any issues, but i suppose there is always that risk
does that one allow you to change the screen? or is it just RGB and not an actual lcd
"or upload custom GIFs/images to its 320x240 LCD screen"
Thic
do you have a link? i couldnt see one like that when i looked
Why is this particular cat 6a roll thicker than those cat 8 cables
hehe (i know the answer unfortunately)
Maybe? Its a tiny bit less attention grabbing
What's that website?
Buildcores once again.
That's really cool
Yeah
#thermalright #thermalrightcontrolcentre #trcc #frozenwarframe
How to install and setup Thermalright Control Centre TRCC Guide and troubleshooting
today we are taking a closer look at the Thermalright Control Centre software that is used to change and configure the IPS screen on the Frozen Warframe AIO and others in the Vision range.
The softwar...
much protection
Forbidden liquorice
It was only 47 buccos
are you gonna do 25 gig or like a 100m+ run?
i knew it was a scam from a mile away
Don't know yet
will find out once i'll get to le new apartment
good luck pulling cable
This thang doesnt bend ;-;
TRCC breaks Minecraft bedrock in latest W11 update for me
Really bizarre and I don’t know why
funky
Even uninstalling both I then had to do W11 reinstall
So now I just stare at the Thermalright logo
wait it has no memory
NVIDA's really out here remanufacturing a GPU that's already 2 generations old to set up the proper entry-point of having double digit VRAM for a 1080p GPU... we're beyond cooked 🤡 https://x.com/wccftech/status/2008060088507085109?s=20
NVIDIA to bring back the GeForce RTX 3060 in Q1 2026 to tackle current-gen GPU & memory shortages. https://t.co/QbCUoMg0Pu
It doesn’t initialise without trcc
Do i even have to measure the awg with my calipers to determine whenever it's 23
So I’d guess no memory
Looks industrial enough
50$ AIO with a screen is fun tho
Beats the deepcool ak620 screen which is now the backup cooler when the aio dies. Just annoys me I dropped it cleaning and bent the pipes
Nothing wrong with it except a 3mm gap on the screen where I bent it back to place. Functions the same
I expected to get like stranded cat 6a or the lenght be incorrect but nop
Just easier for me to quick clean a rad tbh
Legit cat 6a 100m for 40 excluding shipping
stranded
Yes strandey bad
anyhow could have been aluminum core stuff
When should I use DDU Uninstaller? Before or after I swap GPUs? Also, when should I download the new drivers? Before or after DDU Uninstaller?
Not as common as it used to be i think
stranded is an issue nowadays
Also i find it funny marketing teams list it as a pro
you just ruin the cable by doing so
you know if it was like cable meant to transfer powah only but stranded for data transfer?
Might as well save on copper and make it one strand
oh cool. ty
It won't really matter for most users but it makes me bit angery
like if it says cat 6a it shall do 10gbps above 80m and not do worse than high quality cat 5e
like 4.5gbps
is this good for £695 ($933)
the times we are in makes me sad
why waste money on cable extensions?
Guys, when installing games on ram i found they often performed worse that on ssd. Why is this? A lack of support? I was using RamDisk
its not a budget pc cmon
700 euro is tons
it's like £10 and I want decent aesthetics
Are there prices in the neighboring column
get a nice side monitor
idk am4 in 2026 is budget in my eyes
have you tried to use pcpartpicker?
yes I have but ram is so fucking expensive here atm
and?
go lga 1700 over am4
just manually add the price
it wouldn't align with my budget
what
Goated
How much is 3080 for you
Hello what did I miss
We're on the same brain length
Same wavelength
That's what I meant
Fluttershy never had allat
more around the 330 pricepoint
Installed his games on his RAM
it's goated 🔥
HUB recently showed that AM4 has aged better for newer and older games thanks to 24H2 improvements
Isn't that smart?
even over a 12600k?
it would have a domino effect on my build and it's kinda dead tbh
what changing the motherboard and cpu?
am4 is even deader
Bartlett is gonna be the last generation to support it
is it even confirmed
Nah. This is what they used.
Orange is the cpus being focused on with the re-tested data
ah
I think ill use a different method of installation next
should also really be using super fast ddr5 too
I used ramdisk but i really do believe i can have smth that works well
I also will be getting 96gb 3600 soon so i can try beefier games
Then i can check load times in addition to frame times
can i get some suggestions for AIOs with an LCD screen? just wanna compare options and reviews
Stream vision
Warframe
Warframe ultra
Mijolnir vision
that stream vision looks dope, do you have any personal input on what thermalright AIO (with LCD) is generally the best?
i cant decide if this one is ugly
idk if i fw it
💸
I meant core vision not stream vision mb lol
Stream vision is my fav tho, but its expensive
stream vision is one of the cheaper ones in the UK apparently
Sick
stream vision is a 640x480 LCD
grand vision is a 480x480 LCD
hyper vision is a 480x480 LCD
yet stream vision is the cheapest... idk why
maybe bc the fans it comes with arent rgb?
do you know if you are able to change the fans that come with the radiator?
Yes
You can put wtv fans
hmmm. idk if i wanna go with RGB on this build or just a plain white
sell it and buy a car
where is the actual pump located, bc when i built my last pc i mounted my AIO inefficiently
is it in the cpu block?
Yes
so to mount it correctly i just need the part where the tubes connect to the radiator to be above the pump?
pump in block
Warframe??
TR Frozen Warframe
wtf is this. Looks like a nightmare for ram and vrm heatsinks
which one is better and if its the aorus one is it worth that extra bit of cash
Uriel's my 2nd favourite frame so far
probs more spensive more better but you will not notice it
its just down to looks at that point ?
go eagle
differences are the amount of usb ports and their speed
motherboard should have way better bluetooth in terms of range and generation and probs other stuff too
its just like 30£ more and you never need to think about it
honestly id not go with white
just get the aorus since its just a small margin in price anyway
someone in another server told me that the eagle's
" vrms are better
pcie lane allocation seems better as well
more priority to the m.2's instead of the lower pcie slots no one uses anyway"
does that make remotely any difference
for what its worth i do also prefer the less silver on the eagle
i think the aorus is a bit metallic
yes the VRMs are better but you would never notice it, the extra m.2 is just nice.
hmmm
idk if i would even use bluetooth much...
but like you said it is a have it and forget about it kind of thing
should also be bluetooth 5.4
i have a 5.4 adapter.. are there any sources i can look at for BT range? or is it like a case by case thing
idk if id need to be more than like 2m away from the PC at any time
i do not think anybody has done any bluetooth range test sadly
Well, the Aorus has a better VRM phase distribution... That can be a big factor. I just pulled the triger and went all out on an Aorus X870 Stealth Ice. I went with Gigabyte for the past 2 decades now and with Aorus ever since they started that line and never even once was dissapointed.
"That can be a big factor" but what difference does it make
If you want to push your CPU to the max actually a lot.
uh
what does this show
a motherboard that looks like this does not even throttle with a 9950x
top one is crap but the one i just sent aint
oh
looks is not everything but like when a 9950X does not give a crap about a board that looks like this i have a strong feeling a board with even more stuff is not gonna be worse
Until you start overclocking... 😅 If you run everything stock it dose not matter to much what board you buy as long as it's a reputable brand with good warranty policy...
he is going to get a 9800X3D
can you even do much more above 200w on a 9800X3D with the stock IHS
If you get a good one, easy.
how much
hes making a point where all 9800x3d’s ihs are capable of dispersing 200w of heat
regardless of what clocks at what voltage the cpu is able to achieve
like my previous 13900K was able to do 55/44/50 but my current one does 54/43/49
but crucially both of them have a VOUT of 350
what difference does the 2.0/3.2 (gen 1 and 2) make on a usb port?
im high vout is voltage but still power is the same regardless of clocks
if you do not have a device that can support it then it does nothing
so its just faster data transfer? and basically any PC peripheral id use can go in any USB slot ?
yus
oh okay
think i might just get the aorus for more USB slots
its always a bitch to run out of usb slots
yeh
can someone explain why the video i watched had someone plug their RGB fans into a SATA cable instead of into their motherboard header?
sata header provides way more power, but i would imagine it went trough a controller
if im goinng to be using a bunch of these (up to 3 daisychained to 1 cable) will this be able to go straight into the motherboard or will they likely come with a controller?
im getting a thermalright AIO aswell and removing the stock fans for these
fans with some basic lights use almost no power
and im gonna guess that £200 aorus board will have more headers than i could ever need
for rgb fan control that is
yup
They’ll work daisy chained
Gigabyte is usually pretty good with how much current each header can sustain
gonna have to get a monitor arm for the new pc setup or something to fit the new pc
And those three are less than 0.6a
argb is what most modern stuff uses
cablemod
do not use extensions use cables straight from the psu if possible
wdym? do cablemod ones attach to the PSU stock cables?
oh you mean the opposite, use cables that go straight from PSU to the component
yes
got it
is it?
cablemod are pricy, are they considered the best
idk prolly not
its fine
Fr ? Thx
no clue never even considering getting anything but the stock cables
idk what B grade means here
the white ones are all out of stock or B grade
f
why not just buy a white psu?
i just think the fabric sleeves look cleaner
buy a white psu with a fabric sleeve
Is that normal for a monitor to do?
the hyte y70 can use this PSU right?
idk if it had different mounting since it goes at the back and not underneath
probably
it’s the same mounting just a different place
I believe
The best are be quiet psu s
which one
seasonic are the ones who make some of the best
this isnt dawid does tech stuff
bequiet is great when i need a psu that can supply 100w for a dumb project for cheap
And what are the best psu in your opinion
already said it
are those aliexpress x540 t2 good?
the company that actually makes their own PSUs tbf more players do that now but meh
yolo
i need two cheapest 10gbps cards
grey can psus in oems
trust
I mean be quiet psu are in the tops
not how it works
they’re like 12 euros 😂
cant just go (insert brand here) is the best as a brand tends to sell a lot more than just one item and most tend to also make products for different categories
ion even know who use be quiet psus
most of the PSUs corsair sells now are at least b tier
take thishttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1akCHL7Vhzk_EhrpIGkz8zTEvYfLDcaSpZRB6Xt6JWkc/htmlview?pli=1
for the hyte y70 and their vertical GPU mounting, would a 3rd party stabilizer be needed or is it totally fine?
Get the one with the screen
naw its neat but it wont be used at all
its fineee
oh wait the hyte y70 pcie cable is only a 4.0 when my motherboard is a 5.0 using an RTX 5080
is that gonna be a big problem
it should not back power so yolo
nop
Ohh
would it not make a difference in performance between a 4.0 and a 5.0 pcie?
I didn’t quite read alright
Nahhhh you can even use pcie 3
like 1%
5 fps
pcie 3 you do start to notice a small difference
they have a 5.0 one but its out of stock so thankfully a 4.0 one still works
What rtx 5080 u gonna get
dealing with front panel with an matx motherboard and a gpu installed:
MSI ventus
This version
would their be like a pcie 4.0 mode in the bios id have to turn on?
there’s almost zero difference between pcie gen5 and gen4 for gaming
Nice
at most 1%, and that’s largely just for the 4090/5090
aka like 1%
rounds to 0% for any card but the 4090/5090
das not math
thats very nice to know ty guys
if you go for a chart of 100% any difference would fall to 1%
<0.5% rounds to 0% when dealing with integers only
ai overview…
live laugh fucking hate ai overview
no ai
they are clean icl
ai overview is okay for general information, absolutely horrible for anything specific
and the ai part is; i just cant
Sum lite
good way to waste cash
Me and you are the coolest guys here
gulp i- wouldnt really say that but yes, everyone has their tastes
I like the taste of chrome dome cl28 6000
i like tcl 30 more at ddr5 8000
pleass say you running good timings on ram
Hello, could someone advise me a "budget" am5 motherboard, with a good vrm, so that in a few years I could put in a new cpu without any problems? (Just bios update)
The Royal Neo kit to the right just came back today from RMA, its cl28 6000!
the one to the left is a royal kit cl36 7200
How can I improve my audio situation? My EarPods aren't long enough to reach my PC front panel so I have to plug them into my 2nd monitor, but that's also annoying because it touches my arm and gets caught around my mouse
https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/VggDrM
okay so can yall take a look at this and verbally abuse me if im doing something stupid here
im getting 3rd party cables from cablemod (c series for the corsair PSU).
also what im wondering is will i need a fan controller for all those fans? or how does that work?
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, HYTE Y70 ATX Mid Tower
I saw the Hyte Y70 and immediately knew that's what's wrong with it
whats generally better to do with 7 fans (aio included) 4 intake 3 exhaust or 3 intake 4 exhaust
As long as you don't have negative pressure
whats up with that case? i think it looks jazzy
Too much glass personally
oh so its a personal thing and not like an actual product issue, had me worrying there for a sec
Yeah I mean I don't care for PC aesthetics too much when my PC is on the floor
im rlly clueless as to what this pressue is, can you elaborate on it?
So negative pressure is when u have more exhaust fans than intake fans
Apparently it attracts more dust buildup
so if more exhaust > intake does that mean i should just go for 3 intake and 4 exhaust?
wait what
mb 4 intake and 3 exhaust
however ive heard that rear being intake instead of exhaust is quite bad as:
Rear intake fights natural airflow
Hot air from the CPU/GPU usually wants to exit out the back/top
Rear intake can push warm air back toward the CPU
Airflow can become turbulent, reducing efficiency
You may see slightly higher CPU temps than necessary
Comes with special packaging to justify the extra dollars
Not technically correct. You can have more exhaust fans at lower rpm/pressure and less intake at higher rpm/pressure and still have positive pressure
in my case i dont have bottom fans
Thanks for the clarification
So it's a combination of the number of intake/exhaust fans and the RPM/air force
It will depend on your fan curves also.
in that case too
I still need to switch my exhaust to intake on the rear now you’ve mentioned this as I forgot to do that when I got my aio
fan curves? nah, fan wall
I’m positive pressure until my fans ramp up then I’m negative which isn’t good
seems pretty good, you can get windows for 15 bucks though. Also why is the 2TB the same price as 4tb? lol
even 20 bucks more
so i could in my case choose to have front + rear intake and aio on top. And then just adjust my rpm
oh thats my old nvme im gonna put in the new computer for backup. ill prob never need to use it with a 4TB drive, but ill use the old one for image saving and word documents and such
why’s it 333 dollars though?
i got a 5.0 drive for the boot drive and for clipping
then a 4tb 4.0 on for game storage
then the old 3.0 one for whatever
i have no clue , PC part picker issue
lol
not a pcpartpicker issue, just the volatility in the market making prices a little wonky
what are you doing? as that cpu is about at max temp aka 89c
old image, at the time i think i was running cinebench multicore
interesting
@tidal geyser thoughts? i know you basically answered all questions throughout it, but is that a good build?
fans basically never ramp on the CPU, 240mm AIO is plenty for the 7800x3d
also i know pc part picker shows if parts are compatible, will i need to double check to make sure everything fits into the hyte case?
you could have the same PC for like 750eur less if you spent less on aesthetics
im very aware of that... idk if i wanna tho
otherwise, looks fine
that ram just makes me sad, but you can't do much better for the price
white part tax, rgb vomit, LCD on an AIO which isnt needed
i didnt need to do allat, but itll look pretty sick
Not my preferred aesthetic, but to each their own
Part List - AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, GeForce RTX 5080, HYTE Y70 ATX Mid Tower
anyone have any reccomendation for a gaming laptop around 1k? I cant buy a pc cause i travel around a lot
i wont have it rainbow, ill prob keep it a solid white or a cool blue light
white PSU with sleved cables
If spending your money on aesthetics makes you happy, then it's money well spent
i know what its named but really should be changed to buying adviced
should be "tell me how to spend my money"
i hate when people come in acting like they want advice, but they actually just want someone to blindly approve of their choices
yeee
i cant find a pic on what the cables look like, are they in that mesh stuff? or is it a braided fabric
discord compression moment
hm. that would shave like 100 off the total but i personally dont like when the cables arent aligned like this
cables have combs, so it's up to you how you route it
also kinda crazy how a 1.2k watt PSU at platinum cert is cheaper than a 1k one at gold
it comes with combes
the fans, RAM and storage is what makes it so much more expensive though
well there are no parts he can make better anyways for a ok price
what site is this?
the fan price is incorrect, they are £8 on amazon atm
oh, awesome
yee
15 inch legion 5 g10 would be my immediate go to if it’s still $989

if not i’d look for a loq, omen 16/slim, autora 16
is loq good?
solo pantherlake in like 11hrs
me is essited about C class igpu
this sheet i got sent doesnt have that one on there, is that a newer PSU?
yes
intel bring back optane at CES please (i'm delusional)
check the full list
not the main one
also review > tier list
already sent him one where it got 8.5/10
both, both is good
o wow the only cons i see
"Cons:
A lot of competition in this sector.
Availability will likely be a problem in various countries (for a while at least).
"
Crucial ramped up NAND price a month ago. Samsung didn’t. All crucial/micron SSDs more expensive now, like Corsair.
"Pros:
Fully modular.
PCIe 5.1 and ATX 3.1 compliance.
Platinum levels of efficiency.
White and black colours available.
105C-rated Japanese capacitors from Nippon Chemi Con and Rubycon.
Quiet fluid dynamic bearing Fan.
Ripple suppression is good.
Load regulation is tight.
"
hmmm that is incredibly tempting, even with the combs the wires are a bit wonky
"KitGuru says: The Lian Li SX1200P delivers high-grade power at Platinum levels of efficiency. It is fully modular, quiet and the quality of the modular cabling is super. With a 10-year warranty, we rate this product very highly."
oh
HMMMM
should be fine
Yeah Samsung and WD SSDs went from more expensive and better to buy (in general) to cheaper than some garbage SSDs
hi can anyone suggest me a good bang for buck controller? I recently watch the LTT Controller showdown where the Easysmx x20 won..
then you have your answer
im js looking out for more choices
because I don't wanna end up regretting
Garbage ssd (I actually own also) when compared to the WD sn850x that is cheaper and better (that I also own). And the price is lols.
Micron just inflated NAND where as Samsung didn’t
yeah i mean if i get it, put it all together i can just get cablemod ones after the fact, may as well see what it looks like first to see if i can save a bit. thanks for the recommendation
is there literally any bad thing about getting a PSU with more wattage than your PC pulls?
Yeah WD is Kioxia
nah
less efficient but das about it
So of the biggest 3 NAND makers. Only Micron are charging a fortune. Kioxia and Samsung have remained consistent with global inflation
i see, there is a 1000W one but thats only like £9 cheaper
Remember Micron are the company that “reluctantly” pulled out the consumer DRAM Crucial brand … reluctantly
do i just get the 1000W one anyways since the PC wont even be near 1k W ?
Fun thing is GN won’t cover the SSD price discrepancy because it doesn’t fit his angry narrative. Yet it should do. Until every company charges the same he won’t be a little bitch about it on YouTube
And when everyone charges the same ya can’t really argue. That’s the going rate.
this is very anecdotal but how regularly are PSUs restocked, idm waiting a month or 2 to save a bit of money but any more than that ill just buy from a place that has it rn
hey guys, is it possible to upgrade your wifi device?
._. mine is apparently legacy and hasnt recieved updates since like 2020
no wonder i only get 70-150mbps on a 1gig line
you're likely limited by the hardware in the router, not any firmware or software
really?
yes
because my router is cox panoramic wifi and my phone gets like 400mbps down
what device is limited to 70-150mbps
my desktop...
prebuilt or custom built
..prebuilt ._.
do you know what model and year, more specific the better
i have a intel(R) dual band wireless ac 3168
or do you mean my pc?
my pc was a prebuilt by ibuypower and i dont know what model is it.. ive tried asking them and they dont respond much
i got it fro christmas like 3 years ago
I was trying to find out the PC, but that's cause i was gonna look up the wifi chip myself, thanks for saving me the trouble
That chip is limited to wifi5
is that bad?
Do you have the antennas installed on the back of the motherboard?
yeah
It's quite old
well yeah, thats why its legacy and gcc wont update my drivers for it
gcc is gigabyte control center btw
You may be able to find drivers for that chip online directly
it keeps telling me i have a update available for my wifi uwd and then i click ok and start the update and then it runs the update and then windows is like "no u" and it refreshes and it says "you have an update" and its the freakin wifi update again
nah apparently im on the final driver for my oem
i already looked into that... im just wondering if its possible to change wifi cards entirely?
if i like buy a new one is it super hard to switch it or whatever..
You can change the card itself, but it can be a bit involved depending on where it is on the board
Do you have any PCIe slots available?
its in the top left corner
Oh you can see it?
if i open the case i can. i think?
._. it says intel on it and its the only intel hardware in my machine so im guessing...?
Mind taking a picture of it?
ummm
thats kind of complicated but i guess i could if i had to..
;~; that requires moving my moniter and stuff
It would likely be easier to get a wifi PCIe card
its connected by pcie though
so i assume i could disconnect it from that pcie 1 slot
and put the new one in the same slot?
Is it on a separate card in a PCIe slot?
im just like...what if it borks my whole computer
i ...think so?
its a little card thats sticking out of my mobo
A picture would be really appreciated
Sorry, it's just not easy to be confident in my advice to you without a picture
okay
okay now that im getting a very good PC, do you guys have any monitor recs? (9800x3d and a 5080 build)
so
i didnt have to take off the tempered glass (maybe)
becuse i mean. its glass! 😄 i just shined a flashlight through it and pushed my phone to the glass
but lemme know if its not good enough. because i can do it without even moving my monitor apparently
yeah that's gonna be a pain to get to and swap
at the bottom of your motherboard there should be an open slot
oof really?
idk if there is or not my gpu is huge and i unfortunately have one of those cases with a massive metal encasement that hides my psu
something that looks like this, at the very bottom
just list the motherboard ..
gigabyte b550 ud ac
rev 1.1
(ive been updating all my software lately including my bios haha)
You could get something like this to upgrade your wifi
https://www.amazon.com/TP-Link-Archer-TX55E-Bluetooth-Ultra-Low/dp/B0B1NRGDQ4
TP-Link AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 Bluetooth 5.2 PCIe Adapter - High Performance for High Demands. The very latest WiFi standard, Wi-Fi 6, provides extreme speed, ultra-low latency, and uninterrupted connectivity so you enjoy faster downloads, smoother streaming, and more immersive gaming. Wi-Fi 6 comes with ...
ok but looking at that doesnt that not work for my pc?
..the plugs are on the wrong side or the antenna would be shoving against my gpu
i dont think i can put my wifi card under my gpu cos of my displayport cable..
is cables melting on 5080s still a thing? mine arrives on thursday and i dont want it melting :)
why not just swap in an AX210 in the existing E-Key m.2 slot?
Cables melting on GPU's equipped with that connector has never stopped being a thing.
How would one prevent that?
^ why i am too afraidypants to upgrade my gpu despite the shockingly affordable 5060
There is nothing you can do to prevent it. Fully seat all cables and play games.
fun 🙃 thank you!
thank you <3
....loool...
2 months ago 32gb 3600mhz ddr5 was like 90 bucks
christmas eve it was 250
so 7200MT
its the first time ive noticed a major price spike in tech before hearing about it on LTT
i was like "oh cmon!!!"
gpu
